Connecticut missed on bringing the Blue Jays to Hartford a couple months ago. But they ended up getting Toronto FC to play at UConn's football stadium.

 

But of course its getting roasted on Twitter cause the state canceled the high school football season.

I only had time to watch the first 25 minutes before I had a Zoom call I needed to get on, so I thought I wasn't going to really see the game get decided. Instead, it was already 4-0 to the Sounders by the time I had to mute it and go into the other room.

A lot of teams, Sounders included, really struggled with San Jose's man marking approach in the MLS is Back tournament but once it got found out, good lord. It got so bad that Kasey Keller was speculating like fifteen minutes in that the players were outright trying to get Matias Almeyda fired.

I mean, it was a good performance for a team that hasn't existed in several years. And hey, we held it to a draw, better than you lot.

But hey, at least Inter Miami is leading MLS in something. Granted, it's losses, but hey, it's something.

The quality team of Ft Lauderdale's Himmarshee FC now, btw. The season hasn't started yet due to COVID postponing, but if cases trend down hopefully by mid-October we'll bring quality footy back to Broward county cause, well, it ain't getting it from the folks at No-Hart stadium 😉

Again, this isn't a knock on you. I know you wouldn't do this.

But management (Beckham, which actually surprised me, and Jorge Mas, less surprising) gave the video a like instead of denouncing it. You can't control everything supporters do, but you can at least say "Hey, don't be dicks and attack the other team's mascot." I'll give Beckham and Mas the benefit of the doubt and say they probably didn't watch it and just saw the thumbnail, and there probably will be a statement from the club, but woof it's a bad look, and the video makes not just Inter Miami supporters, but all South Florida sports fans look bad.

EDIT- And reading comments from Orlando supporters who were at the stadium at the time, apparently the reason there was no security around the mascot (who, as an aside, is apparently named Kingston) was because another Inter supporter threatened to attack him and security had to escort that guy out. Grain of salt there, but damn.
