Summer Transfer Window 2020

Absolutely mental that we're in a world where Championship strikers are going for £30m, and that's not a knock on Watkins' ability.

Villa and West Ham have frankly not had great transfer windows. Maybe Ollie Watkins stars in the PL, but I wouldn't exactly count on it. West Ham just selling off a highly rated youngster is ridiculous when it's to West Brom. If Liverpool or Man Utd or whoever came calling that makes sense but selling him to a club who might be the one that finishes ahead of you in the table and causes you to be relegated is all sorts of bad business.

I understand what West Ham did, in all fairness. It basically comes down to them having screwed up in previous transfer windows. They want to invest in defence, but need to shift some forwards to be able to fund it. Sounds like they’ve tried and failed to sell Felipe Anderson and Lanzini. But they’ve still got Yarmolenko and Bowen, so ultimately, if they can use the Diangana money to strengthen their defence, it probably justifies doing it. Obvs it would have all been avoided if West Ham hadn’t spent a tonne of money on expensive players who get paid too much to be moved on, but that’s not exactly unique to West Ham.

West Brom have also blown a massive amount of their budget on a player with no PL experience too, so there’s no guarantee it was the smartest move from them either, especially if they fail to sign a decent striker.

It's great business for Brentford. I think they only paid a couple of million pounds for him three years ago.

Yeah apparently the sell-on fee alone going to his previous club Exeter is the most they've ever made from a player.

Angelino has rejoined RB Leipzig. Season long loan, with the obligation to buy for €18m, should he feature 12 times - with a minimum of five of those having to come in the second half of the season. Weird clause, but probably worth it, as he was excellent for Leipzig last season.

We have signed Oli Burke from WBA with Callum Robinson going the other way.
