News and Notes

-SMW returns again this week with another awesome card, this time headlined by the second round tournament match between Matt Stryker and "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles. The only other announced tournament match-up was Super Dragon returning to take on Matt Sydal, so we will announce the other two bouts right here. "The Master of the Backbreaker" Roderick Strong will go one on one with "The New F'n Show" Jerry Lynn, and "The Future" Chris Sabin will confront Alex "The Next" Shelley after being defeated by him just one week prior.

-Bryan Danielson will not be competing on this weekend's show, but he will be in attendance, as he has requested the right to talk to the fans and explain his position on recent events. One has to wonder how the American Dragon will feel about The Four, and the masked man who continually has bested him.

-Speaking of The Four, two of their members in Austin Aries and Frankie Kazarian, will take part in the first ever SMW Scramble match, which has been borrowed from Ring of Honor (with their permission). Also involved will be the team of Dan Maff and Jay Lethal... Homicide and Low Ki, who will be looking to redeem themselves against Maff after having both been pinned with their own moves by his hand... and the team of Trent Acid, and his debuting partner JOHNNY KASHMERE. With the SMW Championship tournament coming to a close, the tag team division is beginning to take shape.

-Joey Ryan made a big impact in his Fatal Four Way bout debut, and has been invited back to compete in SMW. "The Technical Wizard" will make his return on 11/26, the night of the SMW Championship decision match.

-Jay Briscoe will compete in his second Three Way Dance, and hopes to have the same favorable outcome as he did in the first, this time facing the man he pinned last week, Petey Williams, and the "Anarchist" Arik Cannon.

-Alex Shelley has been trying to get a hold of Austin Aries, but has yet to be able to get through to the leader of The Four. Shelley has not stated why he needs to talk to him, but seems very impatient with the lack of communication.

-And rounding out this weekend's show will be a Fatal Four Way bout. Nigel McGuinness will try his hand again at picking up a win in a Four Way... CM Punk looks to pick up a win here and keep himself alive at the top of the card after his loss last week to BJ Whitmer... and the other two spots will be filled by debuting workers, as CHIKARA Pro's Gran Akuma and NWA Wildside's "Kool" Seth Delay make their SMW debuts!

BTW: The #'s before and after a name indicate that the wrestler has advanced that far into the tournament, but has yet to be paired up with someone for that round of matches.

Also, if there is more than one person who posts predictions, I will run a contest again. The winner can get in contact with me afterwards about what they feel they should receive for winning. If it's possible, and makes sense, it's yours.

Stryker Vs Styles

Friday November 5, 2004

Second Round Match

Super Dragon Vs Matt Sydal

-Dragon absolutely dominated this match, beating Sydal from one side of the ring to the other, and then back again. Sydal rebounded off the ropes with a Spinning Heel Kick, but when he got up, was met with a vicious Lariat from Super D, who then proceeded to Curb Stomp Sydal's face three times into the mat, before picking him back up, and then hitting the Supernatural Driver to end the match.

Winner: Super Dragon

Three Way Dance

Arik Cannon Vs Petey Williams Vs Jay Briscoe

-Williams and Briscoe went right at each other, leaving Cannon on the outside. Williams blocked a German Suplex attempt and took Jay to the mat with a Fujiwara Armbar, but Cannon stomped on his abdomen, focing him to release the hold. Anarchist tried for a Suplex, but Williams countered it into a Snap Suplex, floated over, and pulled him up for another one. Williams made the cover, but Briscoe stopped the pin with a Legdrop across the back of his neck. The end of the match saw Briscoe attempt a Jay Driller on Cannon, only for Petey Williams to stop it from happening, and then hit the Canadian Destroyer on Cannon! Williams got up and said it was over, but Jay Briscoe grabbed him from behind and tossed him over the top rope, allowing himself to pin Cannon for the three count while Williams pulled himself up.

Winner: Jay Briscoe

-After the match, Petey Williams was pissed off, and he was yelling at himself as he went to the back.

Second Round Match

Chris Sabin Vs Alex Shelley

-Sabin and Shelley began the match with an exchange of Arm Locks, before Sabin blocked an early attempt at the Border City Stretch, and turned it into a Backslide for a two count. Shelley came out of the hold furious, and went for a Forearm shot, but Sabin blocked it, and then took Shelley out with a big boot to his jaw. Sabin applied a Camel Clutch, working on the neck, and setting up for either the Future or Cradle Shock, but Shelley managed to escape the hold, and rolled Sabin up for a two count. The Future got up and tried for a Clothesline, but Shelley reveresed it into an Armbreaker, and then applied the Border City Stretch, but Sabin's foot was underneath the rope, and the official noticed it. Shelley held onto the move for the four count, and then relinquished it to avoid disqualification. Shelley continued to work over the arm of Sabin, but The Future battled back and managed to continually block the Stretch. The Next tried for the Border City Stretch again, but Sabin blocked it, so Shelley turned it into the Shellshock out of nowhere, picking up the three count to advance to the Quarter-Finals of the SMW Championship Tournament.

Winner: Alex Shelley

-Alex Shelley stayed in the ring, and called out Austin Aries, who came out with Frankie Kazarian, as their match was up next. Shelley asked Aries why he'd been avoiding him, but didn't let him answer. The Next went right into a tirade about how he made Austin Aries by giving him the chance to shine in Ring of Honor as part of Generation Next, and how he would have expected that Aries offer him the same opportunity in Smash Mouth Wrestling. Shelley said that he wants to be the fourth member of The Four. Aries grabbed the mic from Shelley, and simply told him that they already have four members, and that "Alex...you'll see The Fourth in the ring against us tonight."As Shelley was leaving, Frankie Kazarian grabbed the mic and said: "Don't ever use my move again."

Scramble Match

Austin Aries and Frankie Kazarian Vs Dan Maff and Jay Lethal Vs Homicide and Low Ki Vs Backseat Boyz

-After the announcement that Austin Aries had made prior to the match, each man was skeptical of his partner in the bout, waiting for someone to turn...but no one did. Highlights of the match include a series of moves done to Homicide...first the T-Gimmick from the Backseatz...then a Frog Splash from Jay Lethal, followed by a 450 Splash from Aries. Low Ki almost made Lethal tap to the Dragon Clutch, but Dan Maff interrupted that, and then brawled into the crowd with Low Ki, and then back to the ring. Homicide hit the Poetic Tope on Aries, Maff and Low Ki, which allowed the Backseatz to capitalize, hitting the Dream Sequence on Jay Lethal, and then Acid connecting with the Yakuza Kick on Kazarian, allowing Kashmere to pin Lethal for the victory.

Winners: Backseat Boyz

Second Round Match

Roderick Strong Vs Jerry Lynn

-Strong started the match on a high note, seemingly injuring Jerry Lynn with a vicious Full Nelson into a Backbreaker. Officials came out, but Lynn yelled "Fuck off!", and the match continued, with Roderick on the offensive, working over Lynn's back. Strong called for the end, and set up for the Powerbomb Backbreaker, but Lynn slid off his back, hit the ropes, and then connected with a running Tornado DDT out of desperation. Lynn rallied the fans behind himself, and managed to pull himself up using the ropes. Strong charged, but Lynn sidestepped him, sending Roderick through the ropes and to the floor, where he would stay as The New F'n Show launched himself over the top rope with a Crossbody Block to the outside. Lynn went to work, pounding away at the head of his opponent, before finally rolling him back into the ring, where Lynn would try to end the match with the TKO, but his back wasn't strong enough, and it gave Roderick the chance he needed to get back in the match. The two men went back and forth until Strong tried for the CX '03, only to have Lynn block it, and flip over his back into the Cradle Piledriver for the come from behind victory.

Winner: Jerry Lynn

Fatal Four Way Match

CM Punk Vs Nigel McGuinness Vs Gran Akuma Vs Seth Delay

-Punk came out to a new tune, as AFI's "Dancing Through Sunday" blared over the PA system. The match started with the newcomers double teaming on both Punk and McGuinness, showing that they belong in the ring with them. Akuma got McGuinness up in a Suplex, and Delay caught him with a Crossbody Block, but as he got up, "Kool" Seth ran right into a huge Lariat from Punk, who then caught Gran Akuma in the corner, and stomped away at him. Punk then drove his knee right into Akuma's face. With Punk dominating the newcomers, Nigel McGuinness recovered, and formed a gameplan, working over the left arms of each of the other competitors throughout the bout. During the match, Akuma and Delay hit a double team move on Punk, which saw them hit a Double Implant DDT. The move broke Punk's nose, and busted it open. The end of the bout saw McGuinness catch Delay with a Half-Nelson Suplex, only to get caught with a Falcon Arrow from Akuma, who then went to the top for a move, only to be crotched by Punk, who then connected with a sick Pepsi Plunge, which saw Akuma's face hit the mat while his legs were still well above Punk's head. Punk covered, and scored the three count.

Winner: CM Punk

Singles Grudge Match

Chris Hero Vs Ricky Reyes

-This grudge match began with the two men going nose to nose, before Hero offered to, and did, shake hands with his opponent. The Pitbull started off on the advantage, working over the knee of the much larger Hero, but Reyes could only hold onto the lead for so long before Hero caught up to him, and blocked a Leglock attempt by booting Reyes in the face. Hero went for the Rubix Cube, but Reyes rolled into a Victory Roll for a two count. Hero and Reyes exchanged forearm shots, and then even a Roaring Elbow each. Both men had the same idea and went for a Lariat, only to connect with each other's arms. The fans applauded the move, but both men were feeling it, and it was only a matter of minutes before they were going for submissions on the arms. Reyes almost had one locked in, but Hero rolled through, and applied a Cross Armbreaker for the immediate submission.

Winner: Chris Hero

-With Reyes defeated, Hero began to celebrate, but stopped to help up his opponent and shake his hand. Reyes then raised Hero's arm in victory before the two men left.

-"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson came out to the ring with a mic, and began addressing the fans by telling them that he won't be here next week, as he'll be in Japan until the twenty-sixth. Danielson was about to continue, but was interrupted by Austin Aries, who came out and said that Danielson wasn't going to Japan...but instead that Danielson was leaving SMW because of the embarrassment he's suffered at the hands of The Four. Dragon stopped Aries from continuing, and said that he was getting to them. Danielson told Aries, face to face, that when he gets back from Japan, he's going to take them out. Danielson then demanded that the Masked Man come out and face him, man to man. Aries said that Danielson wasn't man enough, but the Masked Man came out anyways, and gestured to Aries that it was okay. Danielson said that he doesn't know who the Masked Man is, but that "I'm telling you right now...I WILL make you tap out." The Masked Man went nose to nose with Danielson, and then threw a punch, but Dragon blocked it and leveled him with one of his own. Aries slid into the ring, but was taken out with a German Suplex. Danielson then went after the mask, and almost had it off, but was attacked from behind by Frankie Kazarian, who was wielding a Baseball Bat. Kazarian went to work on Dragon's ribs with the aluminum ball bat, and continued to do so until officials stepped in and forced The Four to the back.

Second Round Match

Matt Stryker Vs AJ Styles

-Styles went hard at Stryker, but The Brow slowed the pace, taking AJ down with an Armbreaker, and working over the arm. Styles did some chain wrestling to out-show Stryker, but couldn't keep the advantage, as every time he would get the upper hand, he would try to go high risk, but Stryker would continually bring the match back to the mat. Styles went for a Springboard Kneestrike, but Stryker caught him in the air and rolled into a Half Crab, and then switched to the Stryker Lock. Matt Stryker held onto the move, but Styles refused to give up, and Stryker got frustrated. Stryker went to the top rope, and tried for a Double Ax Handle Smash, but Styles caught him in the face with a High Flipping Dropkick, turning the tide of the match. AJ controlled from there, catching Stryker with a Roaring Elbow for a two count, and then hitting the Spiral Tap for the win after taking Stryker down with a Lariat.

News and Notes

-The Quarter-Finals of the SMW Championship Tournament will take place this weekend, and the four matches have been decided. Jerry Lynn will take on the leader of The Four, Austin Aries... Alex Shelley will go one on one with the man who's taken his nickname to the extreme, creating two miracles to make it to the Quarter-Finals, BJ Whitmer... "The New Phenomenon" Jimmy Rave will finally get his chance to prove himself against "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles... and Dan Maff will take on Super Dragon in what is sure to be a Strong-Style Dream Match.

-Bryan Danielson will be in Japan for a couple of weeks, but his return date has been announced, as the American Dragon will return on November 26, and will go one on one with "The King of Cool" Frankie Kazarian. But before Kazarian gets to that match, he'll be taking part in a Fatal Four Way this weekend against Ace Steel, Cassidy O'Reilly and Jay Lethal... and on the 19th, Kazarian will face the returning B-BOY in a Dream Match.

-Speculation has been running rampant over the past few days about the announcement made by Austin Aries regarding the fourth member of his group, but all of the men involved in that bout have dismissed it as Aries trying to create tension and give himself the edge in the bout.

-MARK BRISCOE will make his debut this weekend, teaming with brother Jay to take on Trent Acid and his partner, Johnny Kashmere, who made his debut last week, successfully taking part in the first ever SMW Scramble Match. The action doesn't stop there for the reunited Briscoes, however, as the brothers will take on the team of Ricky Reyes and Homicide on 11/19.

-Speaking of Reyes, the Pitbull will be in action this weekend as he takes on the debuting KRAZY K.

-That's not it for debuts either, as Petey Williams will be bringing in JACK EVANS to team with him against a team from NWA Wildside, in THE CAROLINA CONNECTION of Jeremy V and Brandon P.

-CM Punk will be out of action for a few weeks, as he takes some well deserved time off to heal some of his other wounds after breaking his nose last week in the Fatal Four Way.

-We at SMW have announced our first ever major card, scheduled for December 17. It will be the last card of 2004, and has been titled Dream Stage 2004. We have a major announcement regarding a major debut at the show. Look for that in the coming weeks.

The Quarter-Finals

Friday November 12, 2004

-Krazy K opened the show by grabbing a mic and cutting off his theme music... Generic Song #6 by Tristy's Favorite New Generic Band #4. K then cut a promo about how awesome he is, and said that by the end of his match with Reyes, people will be begging for their "Favorite Addiction" to return so that they "can get another fix."

Singles Match

Ricky Reyes Vs Krazy K

-K started the match with a surprise offensive flurry, even managing to pick up a near-fall with a Tornado DDT into a Roll-Up, but Reyes exploded back up and absolutely destroyed the former protoge of Jeff Hardy. Reyes bloodied Krazy K and knocked him out at the same time with a huge running knee strike, but didn't finish there, as he went up top, and hit a Flying Kneedrop to put the exclamation point on the squash.

Winner: Ricky Reyes

8 / 73 / 40%

1/2

-After the match, Reyes circled his fallen opponent, showing a lot of rage and pent-up aggression in his facials.

Quarter-Final Match

Dan Maff Vs Super Dragon

-The two men came into the match ready for a brawl, and that's what they got, as both Maff and Dragon threw everything they had at their opponent. Dragon hit a Curb Stomp on the hard wood floor outside of the ring, and almost scored the win after that move, but Maff managed to kick out just before the three count. Maff came back with some brutal forearms, and even hit a Suicide Dive onto Dragon outside of the ring. Both men connected with Lariats for two counts, and then each man tried for his finisher, but Dragon couldn't get Maff up for the Psycho Driver, and it all came down to Maff hitting the Burning Hammer on his opponent for the three count and the win, advancing to the semi-finals of the SMW Championship Tournament.

Winner: Dan Maff

Fatal Four Way Match

Ace Steel Vs Frankie Kazarian Vs Cassidy O'Reilly Vs Jay Lethal

-Steel came out sporting a new, shorter and darker hair cut, but proclaimed over the microphone that he was still the sexiest man in the match. Kazarian came out, and said: "While I do have to admit, you are a sexy guy, Ace... you're just not half as cool, as the coolest dude in the whole freakin' world." Kazarian was then cut off by "Wily" O'Reilly, who got right into Ace's face, and told him that new hair cut or not, he was going to pay him back for beating him. The match started with O'Reilly clocking Steel over the head with his pint-glass, which lead to a melee in the middle of the ring as all four men brawled. Kazarian hit a Dive over the top, and onto O'Reilly and Steel. Lethal faked a dive, which distracted O'Reilly, and lead to Kazarian catching him with a Flying Lariat off the apron. Lethal and Steel went at it in the ring, and the action picked up from there. Lots of near-falls in the bout, including a spot where Kazarian hit the Flux Capacitor for a two count on Lethal, only to have Steel tag in and hit a Gory Bomb for a two count of his own. O'Reilly tagged in, and was looking for a Superkick, but Steel ducked under it, caught him with a boot to the gut, and then drove him head-first into the mat with a Tombstone Piledriver for the three count.

Winner: Ace Steel

Quarter-Final Match

Jimmy Rave Vs AJ Styles

-Rave came out wearing an AJ Styles vest, and a towel on his head, mocking AJ. Styles came out without that stuff, hinting that Rave had stolen it from him before he came out. Angrily, AJ slid into the ring and went right after Rave. AJ's anger became a detriment to him, as he soon found himself on the receiving end of Rave's Satellite Crossface, a move he calls From Dusk Til Dawn. Chants of "Please Don't Tap" started up, and AJ fought his way to the ropes, breaking the hold, but Rave pulled him back into the middle of the ring and re-applied the Crossface, but not tightly enough this time, as AJ rolled out of it, and caught Rave with a Dropkick right to the face. Styles, holding his shoulder, pulled his opponent up and went to work on him, taking him down with a running Enziguri for a two count. Rave battled back, and went to work on the shoulder of AJ, but Styles fought off the attack, and turned an attempt at From Dusk Til Dawn into the Styles Clash, almost out of nowhere, for the three count. AJ started putting the boots to Rave, but stopped himself before he got carried away, and then grabbed his entrance gear before leaving the ring.

Winner: AJ Styles

58 / 83 / 70%

**1/2

-After Styles had left, Jimmy Rave pulled himself up using the ropes, and had a very disappointed look on his face. Not anger or rage...but disappointed. Rave walked to the back, not even acknowledging the fans.

Tag Team Match

Petey Williams and Jack Evans Vs The Carolina Connection

-Williams and Evans started the match on a high note, using spectacular team work and double team moves to keep their opponents at bay. They controlled most of the match, using quick tags in and out, with Petey taking the fight to the mat, and Evans using his speed and aerial prowess to his advantage. It looked like the match was coming to an end as Williams set up Jeremy V for the Canadian Destroyer, but Brandon P stopped it from happening, and then caught Evans on a Crossbody attempt, and turned it into a Powerslam. V and P then caught Williams with a Double Superkick, and pinned Evans following the same move.

Winners: Carolina Connection

25 / 75 / 50%

*

-After the match, Williams went into the ring to help up his partner, but then took him to the mat with a vicious Lariat, and then applied the Sharpshooter, not letting go of the hold until officials made him leave the ring.

Quarter-Final Match

Alex Shelley Vs BJ Whitmer

-Shelley and Whitmer both went at it hard...Shelley trying to prove that he's the best...Whitmer trying to continue his streak of "upset" victories. Whitmer had the advantage early on, but Shelley reversed a Hammerlock, into one of his own, and then into an STF, but BJ managed to get his free foot under the bottom rope to break the hold. Whitmer fought out of a Side Headlock as the fans chanted "Let's Go Jesus!". Whitmer tossed Shelley into the ropes, and caught him coming off with a big time Overhead Belly to Belly Suplex. Whitmer continued on the attack, catching The Next with a big knee to the face, but Shelley kicked out at two, and started working over the arm of Whitmer after connecting with a Single Arm DDT. Shelley almost locked in the Border City Stretch in a standing position, but Whitmer fought it off, and then hit the Exploder '98! Whitmer covered, and the ref's hand almost hit the mat for the third time, but Shelley's shoulder shot off the mat just as it was coming down! Whitmer was shocked, and pulled Shelley up for another Exploder, but didn't expect the Inside Cradle from The Next, who picked up the three count with the surprise move.

Tag Team Match

The Briscoe Brothers Vs The Backseat Boyz

-Mark Briscoe made his SMW debut, teaming with his brother Jay against the team of Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere. Kashmere, who just debuted one week prior, was on fire in this match, taking out Jay with a Falcon Arrow variation, dropping the back of Jay's head across his knee. The Briscoes slowed the pace, taking Kashmere out with a Double Suplex. Mark worked over Johnny's arm, but Kashmere fought away from him and tagged in Trent Acid, who came in and cleaned house, getting a huge, albeit unexpected, pop from the fans. Acid and Kashmere sent Mark over the top with a Double Clothesline, and then hit the Dream Sequence on Jay. Mark came back in with a Springboard Dropkick on Kashmere, but ran into a Yakuza Kick from Acid right after, and then fell victim to the T-Gimmick to end the match.

Quarter-Final Match

Jerry Lynn Vs Austin Aries

-The fans were on their feet for this one, as Aries and Lynn went all out trying to injure the other man in an attempt to pin him. Lynn hit the Cradle Piledriver early on in the bout, but Aries kicked out of the pinfall attempt, shocking Lynn. Lynn went right back to work, but was surprised by a Taz-Plex from Aries! Aries side-stepped a charge, and hit a Drop Toe Hold, senidng Lynn face first into the middle turnbuckle. Aries then took advantage, and hit the 450 Splash, but Lynn kicked out. Aries pounced on his opponent, applying the Rings of Saturn right away, but Lynn refused to tap out, and frustrated, Aries released the hold. Aries went outside the ring and grabbed a steel chair, but the referee grabbed it from him. Aries then turned right into a TKO from Lynn, who almost got the three count again, but Aries threw his arm up in the air at two. Lynn set up for another Cradle Piledriver, but stopped as he saw Frankie Kazarian and the masked man come out. Lynn let go of Aries, and challenged them to get in the ring. The ref went to eject the two men from ringside, but as he was dealing with that, ANOTHER masked man slid in the ring behind him, and wrapped a noose around his throat, choking him out. The masked man slid out of the ring, and Aries applied the Rings of Saturn again, this time, getting the win with the move, as the referee declared Lynn unable to continue.

-After the match ended, the Masked Men and Kazarian got into the ring, and they helped Aries up, but just as they were doing so, Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" blasted over the PA system, and the lights in the building shut off. When they came back on, DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE was standing in the corner of the ring, behind The Four. The fans erupted in cheers as DDP waited for someone to notice him. Kazarian was the first to turn around, and felt the wrath of the Diamond Cutter! The two masked men tried to cut DDP off from Aries, but were unsuccessful, as Page dumped one outside of the ring, and hit the Diamond Cutter on the other! Aries backed into a corner, and Dallas stalked him, saying something to him as he walked. Just as Page got ready to hit Aries, he was grabbed from behind by one of the Masked Men, who had the noose in hand. The Masked Man wrapped the noose around Page's neck, and dumped him over the top rope, choking him out, but he let go of it quickly, as Dan Maff and AJ Styles ran out with steel chairs in hand. Maff chased The Four away from the ring as Styles helped Page up. The Four finally left after yelling some unkindly words at their foes, but the night wasn't quite over, as Maff challenged Aries to meet him in the Semi-Finals next week...and then Page made a huge announcement, saying that he would be present at both nights of Dream Stage 2004...and then after shortly conversing with the other three men, Page challenged The Four to meet the four of them in an Eight Man Elimination Tag Team Match on Night 2 of Dream Stage!

DDP is a nice touch. He adds a big name feel, and a good opponent for "The Four". I liked all the winners, mainly because I picked them almost all right:-p. Can't wait to see how you book from here, it'll be interesting with a "big name" star added to the indy mix.

News and Notes

-This weekend will see the Semi-Finals of the SMW Championship Tournament, with the main event having been announced as Austin Aries Vs Dan Maff, and the other match being Alex Shelley Vs AJ Styles. After The Four's brutal attacks on both Diamond Dallas Page and Jerry Lynn last week, Maff and Styles showed up to even the odds. Speaking of which, Diamond Dallas Page challenged The Four to face them on Night Two of Dream Stage, and their challenge has been accepted. The match will main event the show, with DDP teaming with AJ Styles, Dan Maff and Jerry Lynn against Austin Aries, Frankie Kazarian and their two Masked Men.

-Speaking of The Four, their has been a stipulation added to the Kazarian/Danielson match on 11/26. If Frankie wins the match, then Danielson will never get a shot at the SMW Championship... but if Danielson wins, he will get a one on one match with the Masked Man who attacked him, on Night One of Dream Stage. The stakes have been raised, and we're just two weeks away!

-The Backseat Boyz will be returning to SMW on 11/26, and after having captured two straight wins since Kashmere's debut, you can definately expect them to have a big match, with big opponents, and even bigger action, as the Backseatz look to prove themselves to SMW officials, in lieu of the creation of Tag Team Championships.

-After weeks of losing, Petey Williams finally snapped last weekend, when he attacked his partner, Jack Evans. Luckily, SMW officials pulled Williams away from Evans before he could do any real damage, but he'll get his chance this weekend, as Evans made a huge mistake, challenging Williams to a match. There's no way of knowing what state of mind Petey Williams will be in, but one thing is for sure, and that is that Jack Evans will have one hell of an obstacle to defeat this weekend.

-Jimmy Rave would not speak to anyone after losing to AJ Styles last weekend, and hasn't been seen or heard from since leaving the building. We are flabergasted as to the behavior of Rave, who prior to the loss, had been one of the more arrogant and outspoken personalities in the locker room. Rave will return to SMW this weekend, as he takes part in a Fatal Four Way Match, against other Quarter-Final losers BJ Whitmer and Super Dragon, as well as the debuting STERLING JAMES KEENAN.

-Also debuting this weekend will be the team of ROB ECKOS and STRIKER, who will be taking on two veterans, in Jerry Lynn and Ace Steel... and SLIM J will make his first SMW appearance, taking on Jay Lethal, in a battle of former Special K members.

-We have some unfortunate news, as Nigel McGuinness was injured in a cycling accident just recently. Nigel, who has worked several of our shows over the past month and a half, was out riding his bike when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. Unfortunately for many of our fans, and most unfortunately for Nigel, he will be out of action for several months, as doctor's were forced to scope his neck after fragments of his vertebrae shattered. Nigel underwent fusion surgery, and should be back in the ring within nine to twelve months. All of us at Smash Mouth Wrestling wish Nigel a speedy recovery.

Reyes & Homocide will get the W, just a feeling.

Jimmy Rave will win. Why? No clue...

Jerry Lynn and Ace Steel Vs Rob Eckos and Striker

The Semi-Finals

Friday November 19, 2004

Singles Grudge Match

Petey Williams Vs Jack Evans

-The show opened up with an awesome bout, pitting Jack Evans against Petey Williams. Last week, Williams and Evans lost a tag team match, and after the match, Petey went insane, locking Evans in the Sharpshooter, in an attempt to injure the young man. This week, Evans was looking for vengeance, and was getting it early in the match, as Evans had Petey on the defensive, using his unique aerial abilities to keep the more mat-oriented Williams guessing. The tide eventually turned, however, as Williams blocked a Tornado DDT from Evans, and then turned it into a release Northern Lights Suplex, sending Evans hard into the turnbuckle. Petey assaulted Evans with boots to the back, shoulders and knees. Williams pulled Evans up, and hit three conseutive Pendulum Backbreakers on his opponent. Williams charged into the corner for a move, but Evans sidestepped, and sent Petey over the top rope. Williams managed to land on his feet, and grabbed Evans' legs, pulling him to the mat, and then into the turnbuckle, where he applied a Figure Four Leglock, using the corner post for added leverage. The referee tried to force Williams to break the hold, but he refused, and held on until the ref called for the Disqualification.

Winner: Jack Evans by DQ

-After the match, Williams chased the referee off, and then went back to Evans, but Jack had already began limping his way to the back. Petey attacked him from behind, and set up for the Flipping Piledriver on the entrance way, but a group of officials ran out to stop it from happening.

Jay Lethal Vs Slim J

-Slim J, making his debut, put in an impressive effort against his former Special K partner, Jay Lethal...but it ultimately was not enough, as Lethal rolled through an Anger Management attempt, into a Victory Roll for the three count. The two men went hard at it for four or so minutes, but Slim went for the finish way too early, and Lethal took advantage, picking up the win with the roll-up.

Winner: Jay Lethal

Fatal Four Way

Colt Cabana Vs BJ Whitmer Vs Super Dragon Vs James Keenan

-Jimmy Rave was scheduled to take part in this bout, but was nowhere to be found at bell-time, and the fans waited in anticipation as Whitmer, Dragon and Keenan stood in the ring, also awaiting their opponent... the fans exploded as Barry Manilow's "Copa Cabana" started on the loudspeakers, and Colt ran out to the ring, very Ultimate Warrior-esque, slapping hands on his way to the ring, and then even shaking the ropes like a madman when he got there. Cabana started the match with Keenan, who had an impressive showing in this, his debut SMW match. Cabana hit a Gorilla Press, and then connected with the Warrior Splash to the back of Keenan, but Sterling kicked out at two, and an irate Cabana went for a Lariat, but Keenan ducked it and hit a beautiful Neckbreaker, allowing himself to tag out. The rest of the match saw some great back and forth action between the participants, until Dragon hit Keenan with the Supernatural Driver, but then fell victim to a Clothesline from Whitmer, which sent both men over the top rope, allowing Cabana to come off the top rope with a Superfly Splash for the three count, and the win in his return to Smash Mouth Wrestling!

Winner: Colt Cabana

Dream Match

Frankie Kazarian Vs B-Boy

-Here in another return was B-Boy, who after losing in the first round of the Championship tournament, had not returned to SMW. The New Age Punisher went hard at Frankie Kazarian, who prior to the bell, had called himself "the coolest thing since girl on girl." Kazarian was on the defensive for almost the entirety of the match, blocking shots from B-Boy, and occasionally offering up a reversal to a move. Kazarian scored a two count off of a Fisherman's Buster, which he hit after blocking the Cross Special Brainbuster. Kazarian tried for the Wave of the Future, but B-Boy blocked that, and then sent him into the corner, where he connected with a running Double Knee attack. Kazarian stumbled out of the corner, and fell to one knee, setting B-Boy up perfectly for the Shining Wizard... but Frankie ducked under it, kipped up, and caught a charging B-Boy with a Superkick, right to the jaw. Kazarian covered, and scored the three count.

Winner: Frankie Kazarian

Ricky Reyes and Homicide Vs The Briscoe Brothers

-Reyes and Homicide started the match aggressively, but the Briscoes matched their intensity, and sent Homicide to the outside of the ring, frustrated. Mark used Jay as a launch-pad, and crashed down on The Notorious 187 with a Plancha from inside the ring. Reyes and Jay went at it, with Reyes coming out on top with a Mexican Surfboard, but Mark slid back in the ring to break that up. Mark tagged himself back in, and worked the mat with Reyes. The Briscoes double teamed their opponents, who seemed to have some slight miscommunication, which resulted in Reyes being dumped outside of the ring, and Homicide taking the Doomsday Device from the Briscoe Brothers. Mark covered, but Reyes broke the count at two and drove his knee hard into Jay's face, but Mark caught him off-guard with a German Suplex. With Jay on the outside, Homicide snuck up behind the smaller of the Briscoes, and drove him into the mat with the Kudoh Driver for the pinfall.

Winners: Reyes and Homicide

-After the match, Reyes shook hands with both of his opponents, and then turned to leave, but was shoved by Homicide. 'Cide yelled about "showing those two fucks respect", but was shoved back, and Reyes shoved harder, sending Homicide onto his ass. Reyes left, and then Homicide chased him to the back.

Semi-Final Match

Alex Shelley Vs AJ Styles

-The first of the two semi-final matches got under way, with "The Next" Alex Shelley taking on "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles. Styles opened the match with a flurry of forearms, but Shelley blocked one, and turned it into a Wristlock, and then went from that into a Side Headlock. AJ shoved him off, but Shelley knocked him down with a Shoulderblock. Styles and Shelley went to the mat, and did some chain wrestling, which ended with AJ applying an STF to Shelley, who then grabbed the bottom rope to break the hold. Styles set up for the Clash, but Shelley blocked it, and hit a Armbreaker variation on AJ. Shelley went up top, and hit the Double Foot Stomp to the neck of Styles, but only got a two count on the pin. The Next then set up for the Shellshock, but FRANKIE KAZARIAN distracted Shelley by saying "Nuh-Uh...I don't think so..." with a microphone. Shelley was about to let go of the hold, but instead delivered the move! With Styles down and out, Shelley made the cover, but Kazarian slid into the ring. Shelley got up and confronted him as the ref was about to begin to count, and Kazarian's distraction allowed Styles to recover. Shelley slapped Kazarian, who didn't lay a hand on Shelley, but instead left the ring, allowing Styles to connect with a boot to the gut, and then hit the Styles Clash for the three count.

Winner: AJ Styles

-After the match ended, Kazarian slid into the ring and slapped Shelley three times, and then pulled him up and set up for the Wave of the Future, but AJ Styles grabbed his shoulder, spun him around, and knocked him down with a huge Forearm shot, sending Kazarian running to the back.

Jerry Lynn and Ace Steel Vs "Rowdy" Robbie Piper (Rob Eckos) and Cassidy O'Reilly

-Lynn and Steel were waiting in the ring for their opponents, and the all-too familiar Bag Pipes started up on the PA System, as Rob Eckos, dressed like Roddy Piper, and announced as "Rowdy Robbie Piper" made his way out to the ring, but he was there alone. Eckos stopped and motioned for his partner to come out, and "Wily" Cassidy O'Reilly slowly and grudgingly made his way out to the ring, in place of Striker, who was the second no-show of the evening. O'Reilly wasn't very happy to be teaming with Eckos, and didn't even step foot in the ring during the match, as Lynn and Steel made quick tags in and out, dominating the match. Eckos landed a Superkick on Lynn, and then hit a Spinning Heel Kick on Steel, but when he got to his corner, O'Reilly was nowhere to be found, having walked out on his partner. Eckos was upset, and walked right into a boot to the gut, followed by the Cradle Piledriver to put him away.

Winners: Lynn and Steel

Semi-Final Match

Austin Aries Vs Dan Maff

-The main event was about to get under way, but AJ Styles made his way out to the ring, and placed a chair in the middle of the entrance. Aries tried to get the referee to eject Styles, but AJ grabbed a mic, and said that he was there as a spectator, and to make sure that Kazarian or the masked men don't get involved. Styles watched as Maff and Aries locked up. Maff powered Aries into the corner, and then lit him up with chops. Maff hit a huge Splash into the corner, and then tried for the Cannonball, but Aries managed to roll out of the way, and Maff hit the turnbuckle hard. Aries was the first one up, and he went to work, putting the boots to the back of Dan Maff, and then applying a Rear Chinlock, with his knee arched in the spine of Maff. Maff fought back, and the two men exhanged blows. The fight went outside, and Aries grabbed something from under the ring, but AJ yelled to the referee, and the official took it from Aries, who got angry at Styles, yelling obscenities at him. Maff hit a Half Nelson Suplex, which scored a two count... and then set up for the Burning Hammer, but Aries managed to slide off his back, and hit a release German Suplex, sending Maff right onto his head. Aries then went back to the submission holds, putting the pressure on Maff's neck and back. Aries tried to lock in the Rings of Saturn, but Maff fought it off. Maff tried for a Powerbomb, but couldn't get Aries up, as his back was in too much pain. Maff moved over to the ropes, and held himself there for a moment, but it was too much, as Aries took advantage, hitting the Macho Neck Snap! Maff hit the mat hard, grasping at his neck, and Aries slid back into the ring after a brief breath, and applied the Rings of Saturn, wrenching back, and forcing Maff to give up.

Winner: Austin Aries

-After the match, Aries was celebrating, and Styles got into the ring. AJ grabbed a mic, and went nose to nose with Aries... Styles told him that he is talented enough to do it on his own, and that next week, when he faces AJ for the title, Styles said that he hopes Aries can do it on his own.

Awesome show man. I liked the booking, and Cabana winning does indeed = Ratings. Aeries vs. Styles should be good, and I am pulling for an Aeries win. Also, I love Frankie Kazarian's gimmick. It's so annoying and old school in it's heelness. Keep it up!

News and Notes

-The main event for this weekend's show has been damaged beyond repair, as SMW officials were notified earlier this week by NWATNA that AJ Styles would not be able to take any more independent bookings, as they have signed him to a very lucrative, exclusive contract. This could not have come at a worse time, as AJ was set to face Austin Aries for the SMW Championship... after scrambling around to decide how to fix the situation, SMW officials came up with the idea of having the two semi-finalists, Dan Maff and Alex Shelley, face off early in the evening, for the shot at Aries and the SMW Title in the main event.

-A "Dream Match" has been added to this weekend's card, as BJ Whitmer will take on "The Canadian Destroyer" Petey Williams. With Petey's new found aggression, will Whitmer be able to put him away? Also, as an added bonus to this match, we are also announcing that from this point forward, all Dream Matches will be fought under the pretense that "There Must Be A Winner"...so anything goes, but interference will NOT be tolerated.

-Speaking of Dream Matches...SAMOA JOE will make his return to SMW on 12/10 as he takes on "The Assassin" Dan Maff in a Dream Match just one week before Dream Stage.

-Cassidy O'Reilly was not impressed with the fact that he was booked to team with Rob Eckos, who he called a "ridiculous insult to my culture". Wily walked out on his partner last weekend, but will have to pay the piper, so to speak, when he takes on Jerry Lynn this weekend in one on one action.

-Also signed for this weekend is a huge eight-man tag team match, teaming the Briscoe Brothers with Joey Ryan and Jay Lethal, to take on the team of The Backseat Boyz, Ricky Reyes and Pacific Northwest standout Scotty Mac.

-The debuts don't stop there, as Jack Evans will be the lone returning worker in a Fatal Four Way match this weekend, that will see the SMW debuts of the Auckland, New Zealand native Adam Firestorm... NWA Wildside breakout star, and former XPW Deathmatch Champion Altar Boy Luke... and the master of the 630, and former World Junior Heavyweight Champion, Jerrelle Clark.

-Oh, but that isn't it either...Colt Cabana will return after his big win last weekend, looking for another huge win, this time against the debuting Chris Candido! The former WWE and ECW star is looking forward to his debut in Smash Mouth Wrestling at this weekend's live event.

-Alex Shelley was very angry about the interference of Frankie Kazarian in his match against AJ Styles, and was very vocal about it to management. Seeing that Kazarian's actions did cost Shelley his match, officials are looking into making a one on one match between the two men.

-Dissension between Ricky Reyes and Homicide last weekend has led to SMW officials trying to work out a match between the two men, but Reyes has stated that he would only do it in Tag Team action, as his partner Rocky Romero is scheduled to make a return to the ring sometime soon.

-After a brief hiatus for Christmas and the New Year, SMW will return on January 7th and 8th with another Double Shot. Look for more details on that event upcoming.

Smash Mouth Wrestling Live

The Finals

Friday November 26, 2004

Jimmy Rave mad a surprise appearance, walking out unexpectedly, and without music. Rave spoke about how much he hated AJ Styles, and then said that when AJ beat him, he figured out why he hated him...because AJ was better than him. Rave then said that it bothered him that AJ left, because he wanted to apologize...but that since AJ did leave, all he could do was use what Styles taught him to further his own career in homage to the man who helped him along the way. As Rave was talking, he was interrupted by "Sterling" James Keenan, who came out and demanded that Rave stop his crying...this led to an impromptu match between the two men.

Impromptu Match

Jimmy Rave Vs James Keenan

-Rave put in one hell of an effort in this match, but his emotions continued to get the best of him. Keenan took advantage of the emotional Jimmy Rave, and cut every possible corner in the bout. Rave almost had the match won with the Gravity Killer (Tornado DDT), but Keenan's shoulder shot off the mat just as the ref's hand was coming down. Rave, upset about the near-fall, tried for the From Dusk Til Dawn, but Keenan grabbed the ropes to prevent the hold. Rave had Sterling on the mat, and in perfect position for the Shining Wizard, but as Rave moved in for the kill, Keenan booted him, square in the groin, forcing the referee to award the match to Jimmy Rave via disqualification.

Winner: Jimmy Rave by DQ

12 / 75 / 43%

3/4*

After the match, Keenan pulled Rave up to his feet, and then dropped him with an Evenflow DDT. Sterling James Keenan then grabbed a mic, and called Colt Cabana a joke, saying that it was shameful for him to have lost to a "buffoon"... Keenan then laid out a challenge to Cabana for next week.

Dream Match

BJ Whitmer Vs Petey Williams

-Both men took advantage of the No Holds Barred stipulation that has been added to all "Dream Matches". Whitmer used a steel chair to add emphasis to a Northern Lights Suplex, holding the chair behind Williams' back as he delivered the move. Petey also used the new rules to his advantage, as he applied a Fujiwara Armbar to Whitmer, who's arm was placed inside of a steel chair, which was used to add pressure to the hold as Williams wrenched back. Whitmer managed to fight out of that hold, and the two men went back and forth with a lot of good action. Whitmer tried for an Exploder style Suplex over the top rope, and through a table, but Williams grabbed onto the top rope to save himself, and then landed on the apron. Petey decked Whitmer with a right hand, and then dropped to the floor, pulling BJ into the turnbuckle, and then applying the Ringpost Figure Four Leglock, forcing Whitmer to scream "I Quit" as the damage was being done to his left knee.

After the match, officials paramedics ran out to help BJ Whitmer to the back. After prying an insane Petey Williams off of Whitmer, forcing the hold to break, the paramedics cut off his kneepad and removed the knee brace from his leg, placed a board underneath it, and taped it to his leg. As all of this was happening, Petey Williams was celebrating inside of the ring.

Eight Man Tag Team Match

The Briscoe Brothers, Joey Ryan and Jay Lethal Vs Ricky Reyes, The Backseat Boyz and Scotty Mac

-The match started out with Joey Ryan and Scotty Mac in the ring. Mac got overly arrogant early on, and allowed his arrogance to interfere in the bout, as Ryan caught him taunting the crowd, and sent him onto his head with a huge German Suplex. The Backseatz turned the tide, working over Jay Lethal with double team moves, but when the Briscoe Brothers got into the ring, the double teaming evened out, with Jay and Mark hitting the Doomsday Device on Mac. Ryan managed to hit Reyes with the Duff Drop, which kept the Pitbull out of the remainder of the match, allowing Jay to drop Scotty Mac with the Jay Driller for the pinfall victory.

Winners: Briscoes, Ryan and Lethal

Championship Qualifying Match

Alex Shelley Vs Dan Maff

-Both men entered the match cautiously, moving in slowly, and trying not to expend too much energy, but after it was apparent that Shelley had the advantage in that type of bout, The Assassin Dan Maff decided to up the pace of the match, and took it hard to The Next. Maff connected with the Somersault Splash into the corner, and then even hit the Clothesline From Compton, but Shelley kept fighting back, knowing that there was too much on the line to just give up. Shelley ducked under a second attempt at the Clothesline From Compton, and then took Maff to the mat with the Border City Stretch. Maff was about to tap, as Shelley wrenched back on the hold, but his foot found the bottom rope, and saved him from submission. Maff fought back to the offensive, only to get caught again in the BCS... this time being forced to tap out, as Shelley had him position in the middle of the ring, and with Maff's neck already hurting from his encounter with Austin Aries last week, he had no choice but to submit.

Winner: Alex Shelley

Austin Aries came out after the match and spoke about how Shelley was getting too needy and demanding with Generation Next... Aries said that the only reason Shelley beat Maff, was because he softened him up last week, and that if AJ Styles hadn't "pussied out" of the match, that Shelley would never have gotten another chance at the title. Aries finished up by telling Shelley not to worry too much about their match... "because I've been promised the holy grail!"

Singles Match

Colt Cabana Vs Chris Candido

-Cabana came out dressed up like an aerobics instructor, obviously making fun of Chris Candido's time in WWE as Skip of the Bodydonna's. Canadido looked to be in tremendous shape, and went the distance with the much younger Cabana. Colt thought he had the match in the bag with a Sunset Flip, but Candido kicked out at one, and Colt went bananna's on the referee, insisting that it was a three count. The fans erupted for Cabana's antics, but unfortunately, they would not lead to a victory for the Chicago-native, as Candido pulled out a Delayed Brainbuster for the win, holding Colt up as the crowd counted, for just under a minute.

Winner: Chris Candido

Cassidy O'Reilly came out before his match with a microphone, and ran down Jerry Lynn, labelling him a "glorified has-been". O'Reilly said that if Lynn wants to stick his nose in his business, that he's going to end up "just like everyone else that chased the rainbow".

Singles Match

Cassidy O'Reilly Vs Jerry Lynn

-The match began with Lynn dominating the much younger O'Reilly...but the referee forced a separation in the corner, and Wily used it to his advantage, poking Lynn hard in the eye with his thumb, and then taking over from there, working on the neck of Jerry Lynn. O'Reilly kept going up top and yelling "Pot O'Gold!", but Lynn would stop him or just move out of the way each time. Lynn caught a Superkick attempt from O'Reilly, and spun him around into a boot to the gut, followed up by a huge TKO. O'Reilly rolled out of the ring, and Lynn waited for his opponent to get back in...but he didn't. The Wily Irishman walked to the back, grabbing his long green robe and his pint-glass on his way out. The referee counted to ten, and awarded the match to a disappointed Jerry Lynn.

Singles Grudge Match

Frankie Kazarian Vs Bryan Danielson

-The stakes were high in this match, as if Danielson were to win, he would be granted a match with the original masked man, on the first night of Dream Stage... but if Danielson were to lose, he would never be given a shot at the SMW Championship, which Kazarian's partner Austin Aries would be fighting for in the main event. Both men came in aggressively, and the match remained completely even until Kazarian countered a German Suplex with a go-behind, followed up by a Back Rake. Kazarian played to the fans after the move, but turned right into a huge forearm from the American Dragon, who took over from there, beating Kazarian into the corner, and then working him over with stiff knee shots. Frankie managed to slide out of the ring, and tried to regain his composure, but Dragon attacked him from behind, and rolled him back into the ring, where Kazarian fought off an attempt at the Cattle Mutilation. Frankie tried for a roll-up, but Danielson got back to his feet and booted him in the head. The Masked Men came down to the ring...one with the bat, the other with the noose... with the distraction, Kazarian managed to sneak up behind his opponent and connect with a Backdrop Suplex. Kazarian tried to follow up, but Danielson rolled him up for a two count, and then managed to swiftly apply the Cattle Mutilation for the tapout victory.

Winner: Bryan Danielson

-The two Masked Men slid into the ring after the match and cornered Danielson. The one with the noose dropped it, and then offered his hand to Danielson, who being the honorable man he is, took the hand, only to be pulled into a baseball bat shot from the other Masked Man. The two Masked Men and Kazarian put the boots to Danielson, until Trent Acid snuck into the ring and grabbed the mask of the man with the bat, revealing...Johnny Kashmere! Acid's face turned to shock as he stared at his partner. The two men exchanged words briefly, but Acid went to grab the bat from Kashmere, and received a huge shot to the head, busting him open and knocking him out. With Kashmere's identity revealed, the other Masked Man grabbed Danielson's head in one hand, and with the other, slowly removed his mask, revealing himself as JAMIE KNOBLE! The crowd was in shock, as Knoble, Kashmere and Kazarian made their way to the back.

Fatal Four Way Match

Jack Evans Vs Adam Firestorm Vs Altar Boy Luke Vs Jerrelle Clark

-The fans weren't really into this match, after what had just happened, but these four men gave it their all. The crowd came alive at the end of the match, as Luke hit the Halo on Jerrelle Clark, then got spiked with a Half-Nelson Suplex by Firestorm. Evans then took out Firestorm with a Tilt-A-Whirl into a Tornado DDT. Evans climbed up top, but so did Clark...and both men leapt off the top rope with a 630 Splash onto each of the other opponents... but with Evans landing the move in a much more awkward position, Clark rolled through, sprung to his feet and made the cover on Firestorm to pick up the win.

Winner: Jerrelle Clark

SMW Championship Match

Austin Aries Vs Alex Shelley

-And here it is...it all comes down to this one match, as Austin Aries came to the ring followed by his entourage of The Four. Each member of The Four took one side of the ring, and stood tall as The Next made his way down to the ring. Shelley was all business, not even paying any attention to the other three men at ringside. The two men shook hands before the match, as the Title was held high by senior official Chris Havoc. The match started with a slow and methodic pace as Shelley controlled the left arm of Aries. Shelley moved from an Arm Wrench, into a test of strength, where he took Aries to the mat, and then applied an Armbar of sorts, which Aries fought his way out of. Aries charged in, but Shelley took him down with a Drop Toe Hold, and then applied an STF. Kazarian grabbed the referee's attention, and Knoble nailed Shelley in the head with a hard right hand, allowing Aries to wriggle free of the move, but Havoc saw it, and ejected all three members of Aries' group from ringside. From this point, Aries was more cautious as to his attacks, but continually fell victim to one submission or another from Shelley. Shelley slipped up, though, and allowed Aries to catch him with the Macho Neck Snap over the top rope. Aries regained his composure, and then slid back into the ring, where he took over, working on the neck of his opponent. Shelley fought off a Piledriver attempt, but couldn't thwart another, as Aries drove Shelley's head hard into the mat with a Leaping Piledriver, ala Jerry Lawler. Aries connected beautfully with the 450 Splash, but Shelley managed to kick out. The two men exchanged a few Arm Drags, but Shelley stopped that by blocking one, and hitting the Shellshock out of nowhere! Shelley covered, but Aries kicked out at two. The Next pulled Aries up, and then hit a Jumping Armbreaker. Shelley called for the end, and applied the Border City Stretch, but Aries stretched his leg out, and his foot managed to touch the bottom rope. Shelley pulled Aries up to his feet, but received a huge European Uppercut, followed by a sick Brainbuster, which looked more like a vertical DDT. Aries called for the end, and after catching his breath, he pulled Shelley into the middle of the ring, and applied the Border City Stretch. With Shelley unconscious and unable to give up, referee Chris Havoc was forced to stop the match, and award the SMW Championship to Austin Aries.

Winner: Austin Aries

-After the match, Aries collapsed in the ring with his title, and was helped to the back by the other three members of The Four... and Alex Shelley was still being looked at by trainers as the crowd was ushered out of the building.
