Starting Aug 1 they're going to shorten doubleheaders to 7 inning games a piece. It's, fine, whatever. They obviously didn't plan anything ahead of time and now that it looks like there will be a lot of doubleheaders to get teams as close to 60 games as possible they need to lessen that burden. Schedule is brutal enough as is.

Back to back four hour games between the Mets and Red Sox.  Christ.

If Steve Cohen actually buys this team, he needs to fire Brodie Van Wagenen, Robinson Cano, and Edwin Diaz on day one.  It has managed to become a top 10 worst trade in league history and that’s without Kelenic even debuting yet.

Cohen should ask for BVW to attend the official announcement of him being the new owner, and have "You're not only fired, but banned from the premises!" be the first words out of his mouth as owner.

It's going to be written about for years to come that's for certain.

If it’s possible to make general futures bets I would strongly consider putting money on Kelenic winning an MVP someday (something no Met has ever done).  It’s the cherry on the shit sundae.

If they do shut this thing down sooner than later, I would make a rule that anyone who had an expiring contract this year has a mutual option for 2021 for the same amount as their scheduled 2020 salary.  Basically if both sides agree then the player is back in 2021 on a do-over of this year's contract.

It's not perfect but it's at least something that'll help avoid more people being totally screwed over by a lost season.

State and local officials have contacted MLB expressing concerns that players are seen on TV very clearly violating protocol with spitting, high fiving, crowding the dugouts despite having seating areas for bench players, not wearing masks outside the field of play, etc

Players are now of the belief the season could be shut down as soon as Monday if they don’t show they are following protocol, even if there aren’t anymore positive tests this weekend.

Lmao as always, former Mets always come back to kill the Mets. Travis d’Arnaud drives in the go ahead runs as the Mets blow a 6-run lead and lose 11-10.

Bullpen’s already blown three games in a week.  Also three straight four-hour games that turned into brutal losses.

Fuck this team/season/year.  Yay NHL hockey tomorrow.

The Phillies-Yankees came for MONDAY has been cancelled.

I would bet that Manfred will propose a bubble (or multiple bubbles) idea to the players union and if they refuse then he'll just cancel the season. Thanks to the Marlins players being idiots he can easily shift blame to the players. I'll obviously still blame the owners for doing this with no actual plan in place, but two things can be true and the Marlins should absolutely be ridiculed.
