Cut day isn't quite the same this year.  Yeah teams are still reducing from 80 to 53 but some guys will be signed right back tomorrow when players are put on the temporary IR, and then practice squads expanded from 10 to 16 this year including teams being allowed to carry a handful of veterans.  So even someone like Lamar Miller can wind up on the Pats' practice squad.

So overall teams are really only cutting down from 80 to 69, not counting all the players landing on IR that will still get paid.  Not that practice squad pays a ton but still there will be a whole lot fewer players unemployed this year, which is a good thing during a pandemic.

Raiders traded Lynn Bowden Jr., a third round pick this year, to Miami for the fourth rounder we traded them for Raekwon Miller, and there's a sixth involved there somewhere. It's really weird in a vacuum, though not as bad if you look at the two trades as one transaction.

I was kinda excited to see what Bowden could do, since he did everything at Kentucky last year, but with such a weird year it must have been difficult to pick up the offense and be that type of gadget player without pre-season.

If not for Mariota, who hasn't looked good according to reports, and Nathan Peterman, who Gruden loves, I'd take a flyer on Rosen.

Clowney has signed for Tennessee.

Pretty pissed that the Giants cut Ryan Connelly.  He was only a fifth round pick last year but he quickly worked his way into a starting linebacker role before a torn ACL ended his season early.

I know it was a very small sample size but he showed promise.  Not only did they cut him, they kept 11 LBs on the roster.  He must have looked like crap in camp.

He also gets to stay home in Texas and make $12,000 a week, waiting around to be activated if needed.

New CBA allows veterans to be added now. Can have up to 6 veterans due to covid but will normally be 4.

From top 10 pick to practice squad in two years? I can't believe I ever doubted the Cards moving him aside for Kyler.
