Premier League 2020/21

It's baffling, like pretty much every establish fan group of the club is completely against it and seen several other fan groups for the "big 6 teams" being completely against it.

I don't know what's swaying it for EFL teams, is it the share of the TV money? I agree with the joint statement from the fans and whilst I am a fan of one of the said clubs it doesn't mean I agree with the idea.  I do think there needs to be a review about football governance but it shouldn't be from owners of clubs who look to gain.

We're lucky we've got the best football pyramid in the world really and it needs protecting and clubs should be supporting other clubs during this time.

£250m across the 72 clubs. 25% of combined revenues, and 6% of PL revenues being funnelled into lower league stadium improvements is an enticing offer for a lot of clubs whose futures are very insecure at the moment.

Do those teams at the arse end of League Two, losing money year on year, give a monkey's about Premier League voting power if it means they can renovate their stadium and maybe even make a bit of profit?

Yeah it's a whole lot of money and the most financial security these small clubs can have with a very uncertain future due to COVID. You worry a lot more about next year in a time like this and this proposal is really good for next year or the year after. It won't take long to really show itself for what it is though. Just wait for the next potential club-altering takeover to get quashed by the big 6. After all, if this comes to pass the privilege of playing in Europe belongs to a handful of clubs only.

I don't like how, under this, *I believe* that things can be changed in the future by a third of the 18 teams in the league agreeing on something - i.e. the big six teams. And I say that as someone who's team is one of those teams.

Here's some Tifo goodness:

PPV games and now this. Ever think the Premier League teams might be a tiny bit greedy? It's at times like this when I'm actually glad the Scottish league is so shit. I'd rather have a shit team that was part of the local community than these soulless, hyper-commercialised monstrosities. And now they've got the part of the English game that does actually mean something over a barrel.

Why those teams? Southampton and West Ham have as much right to be in a group like that as Leeds, Villa or Newcastle?

I guess it's because they've been in the longest. In terms of their present spell, not cumulatively.

Current tenure presumably, so the likes of Aston Villa are only on one complete season. What I find more shocking is that West Ham get in over former champions Leicester through the same rule (since 2012 for the former compared to 2014 for the latter).

I think I heard someone on the radio say that it was done based on tenure.

If they want to cut some games from the calendar I'd be happier with going to 18 teams and saving 4 matches per season than cutting the league cup.

The bullshit with the voting rights can do one though.

It's a big fucking bribe and nothing more. The other Premier League clubs seem to be turning on it and rightly so. Also Gary Neville is all for it so it can fuck all the way off.

But... West Ham are against it and if Karen Brady and the dildo twins are against it then surely it must be good? It's conflicting that they're on the other side of it
