On paper the 2019 Addams Family animated movie should be really good. Great franchise, cast of good actors, decent enough story and message, etc. But it is so completely underwhelming because the script is extremely hit or miss and the voice acting is actually really poor most of the film.

I watched Knives Out like a month ago and I have wanted to come in here and vent my thoughts about the film, but I thought it was ambitious and more enjoyable in concept than execution. It was a mystery movie that shape shifted through the entire movie, but once the major twist is confirmed, I kind of found the rest of the movie a drag.

Watched Godzilla vs. Kong yesterday. Some thoughts (obviously, spoilers!):

Spoiler

Too much of humans saving the day. They saved Kong's bacon at least twice, and its pretty obvious that Kong was pretty much destroying a very expensive statue because Mecha-G was already shut down by them pouring the whiskey to destroy the computer.

The movie felt more like a Kong film guest-starring Godzilla. But the movie clearly showed that Kong is no match for Godzilla. He could have killed Kong quite easily during the ocean battle, but didn't. During the final fight, Kong wouldn't have survived even nearly as long as he did if not for that back spike axe. However, it also did a good job of showing that Kong is much smarter than people give him credit for, and that Godzilla wasn't the villain he was made out to be.

"Kong bows to no one" is why Godzilla put him on his ass. All hail the King!

*edit* I've heard some people call it a draw because Godzilla beat Kong, then Kong saved Godzilla. Ummm....no. Without human intervention, Kong would have died.

It's severely tempting because my favorite genre of movie is "heist film", though I do have to wonder what the point is in pulling off a heist during a zombie apocalypse. The fun of it? The thrill?

ooh Tig Notaro is in it.

This is what I've read, but it might not be 100%, but the outbreak mostly started in Vegas and the city was quickly quarantined and bordered off.  So the rest of the country is still mostly "normal" and the use of money as currency is still a thing, so it still has value.  This might be wrong but its how I understand it

Also, Tig Notaro wasn't technically "in" this movie.  She was cast after another comedian, Chris D...something...was named in the #MeToo fallout.  Her scenes were filmed mostly against a green screen and using stand ins for other characters, then she was later CG'd into to the movie.  It'll be interesting to see how long she's actually in the movie, or how much she interacts with the other characters
