More managers/players should do what Rooney is doing here, it's good to see. It isn't as if he was the preferred candidate of Everton anyway, that seemingly is Pereira and Lampard depending on which board member you ask.

I think what Lampard is good at doing is building a siege mentality at a club and bringing a team together, which is what is needed after Rafa's disasterclass of a stint dividing the team.

Short term bounce and a decent finish, before Everton spend decently and underperform again, which seems to be their cycle.

Listen, as long as he doesn't ruin morale, freeze our best players out and insist on playing Salomon Rondon for 90 minutes a game with no goals, he's a step up. I'd have taken a cardboard cutout of Howard Kendall over Rafa though, so not saying much.

Eh I doubt Lanky Framps will get Everton relegated, and he wasn’t terrible at Chelsea so probs reasonable to give him another shot.
