Loved his music. Also one of my favourite movies is Black Dog. Patrick Swayze, Randy Travis and Meatloaf essentially playing himself in such an over the top villain sort of way. Sad news. :(

He was in another movie called Freak i think it was? He played an abusive dad and was pretty good in it.

Hating Meat Loaf's music seemed like the cool thing to do in a lot of circles, but I always had a fondness for the audacious nature of it. His best songs seemed to have such a grand scale to them.

I think it's not his music, it's him that people don't like (especially his pro-Trump comments).

I'll always admire the fact that he rocked until he dropped, or lost his voice or hit walls of shit mental health. A showman in the extreme. Also loved him popping up in Rocky Horror Picture Show and TODAY I learned he was in Fight Club. Had no idea that was him.

He's the main bad guy in Formula 51 (aka The 51st State) and in the very underrated Patrick Swayze movie Black Dog.

Plus he was on Ghost Hunters a couple of times, and either was genuinely interested in the investigations or damn good at acting like he was.

ii cant say im surprised tbh

Neither can I.  I thought "Heart attack or COVID".  He was known to be a supporter and friend of Trump, so COVID isn't a surprise at all
