Vangelis has died

Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassíou aka. Vangelis has died at age 79:

He is mostly known as the composer of the Blade Runner and Chariots Of Fire soundtracks. The first song of him I remember hearing was the title melody of 1492: Conquest of Paradise as walkout music by German boxing champion Henry Maske back in the 90s. The movie is terrible, but that song is amazing.

My first exposure to vangelis was his collaboration with Jon Anderson from Yes. My brother would play their best of album a lot.

In slightly more seriousness, I absolutely love the Blade Runner score, and it wouldn't be the same film without it.
