Catching up on shows and currently on Resident Alien season 3. The premiseis running a bit thin these days, show feels like it either needs to finish up or have a big shakeup.

I loved season one, but even season two felt pretty thin. Don't think I finished it

Just finished loot season two which had an unexpected pro wrestling arc and went someway to address my complaints about pro billionaire propaganda

Me and partner did okay, only beaten by David and Sophie.

Also, if anyone is looking for a good six episode watch, you could do worse than Sweetpea. It's been renewed for season two, but season one is great.

Last question on big fat quiz of everything was bullshit. Twenty points on one question, fuck off. David Mitchell beat me cause of that.

Ohhhh was that why their points shot the fuck up? Okay then yeah, we beat him, fuck that.

Sweetpea was excellent but I don't know whether it needed a second season.

I'm 50/50. I don't think it needed one, but I'm willing to let it breathe and find out where it goes. When you have a six episode season it's probably easier to make a second and third series and keep it contained. I'm definitely interested in...

... seeing how Rhiannon tries to justify killing someone who wasn't a "bad" person.

There were two quizzes over the christmas period,

Big Fat Quiz of the Year and Big Fat Quiz of Everything (2025)

For the Big Fat Quiz of the Year I did terribly. Being removed from Britain makes it more difficult, but for the Big Fat Quiz of Everything (2025) I was doing pretty good until the last round, when it was "Put these fictional characters in order of how many on screen deaths they are responsible for", with five points each for each one you get in the right place.

Yeah I was doing pretty good until that one.

Ah okay, I didn't realise it was 5 points per person. Okay, so I think I was still down on Mitchell, but still higher than I thought. I did wonder why their points shot up, I somehow missed the points per person and thought it was just 5 points for getting all right.

Halfway through Season 3 in my Battlestar re-watch and I still think it's a great show. When I did my Buffy and Angel re-watch, I made a point of how much I'd missed TV shows writing on the fly and adapting as they went along. I think the type of show Battlestar is makes these moments stick out a little more, and not always for the best reasons, but the cast usually make it work. I really appreciate how the show shifts in each season. The New Caprica stuff at the start of Season 3 is really quite something.

Finally got Apple TV back with Severance back next week, and I wanted to watch season 2 of Shrinking in the meantime.  So good.

Lines are made funnier just by the virtue of the person saying them, so I almost fell of the couch laughing hearing Harrison Ford say:

“What do you want me to do, pull down my pants and make my ass clap?”
