I feel like I might have done this before but like someone pointed out recently we've been at this a long time so everything old can be new again and this just came up for me so whatever :P

Anyway I had decided Silent Hill 2 remake was going to be the next game I played but as I started I found out the sprint button is L1 and that's super awkward for me and I know I would be sprinting a lot so I just said fuck this and quit.

I can't figure out how to change it so I got like 10 minutes of play on a game I spent $50 on

I wouldn't say *dumb*, but I really didn't care for the car crash sounds in GTA IV. They were way too close to home, and it honestly made it so that I couldn't play it.

It's pretty dumb that you can't remap on the PS5, but it looks to at least had the sprint toggle setting - you would then just have to tap it when you want to run at the very least.

If I get an Xbox achievement that ends in a number that isn't a 0 or a 5. That is brought on by me playing a game and just getting 8.....

But I may be free of this now. Apparently I got an achievement that ended in a 2 from this game already, so I am stuck with a non-0 or 5 number forever!

I tried to replay GTA3 the other year and the old school style of controls just broke me. "X" to shoot is madness after evolving to shoulder buttons. I know I could change things but I'm lazy

I remember the Playstation version of the original GTA requiring you to hold down X to move forward. Even though it was back when developers were still getting used to the Playstation controller, it seemed like a baffling decision.

Something that didn't make me quit the game, but did sour me on the experience a little was in Fable 2. For some reason, the message "Press A to move furniture" got stuck at the top of the screen for the entirety of the game. I tried everything I could think of to get rid of it, but it clung stubbornly to the screen. It certainly drew my attention away from many of the game's biggest moments.

Also, a miniquest breaking because you entered a dungeon through the wrong door

Vaguely related, the amount of times I've almost quit Skyrim because a random dungeon accidentally lead me to Blackreach and I couldn't find my way back out is very high.

Not sure if it counts but I'll go with it anyway, Jedi Fallen Order's map layout and specifically Zeffo made me shut the game down for a good few months before going back

Not so much as dumbest as much as the one that made me rage the most:

Blitz: The League for PS2. An American Football game with a storyline, where you advance sort of like in Soccer leagues. There's one particular game you have to win to advance, and I swear to this day that the game was cheating. I tried three times to win the game and lost. Fourth try? I have it pretty much won, with a close lead. Lo and behold, the other team starts blowing through my defense with less than 2 minutes left. The final straw? I've got one particular annoying WR covered, and the QB manages to throw a bomb that's so far downfield the WR runs backwards doing a wave taunt into the end zone. And no time left on the clock for me to attempt a comeback. THAT was the game waving `bye-bye'. I traded it in the next day.

The controls on that game were shitty.

When I was younger(10) I quit Final Fantasy VII for about 6 months at the first reactor as I was so dumb I didn’t realise I was to go back the way I came once the bomb was set. 😂

Genuinely thought I was Einstein when I figured it out. Also ran away from almost every battle unknowingly have a super low level game.

This, but Grim Fandango. Never got beyond the second(?) area because I had no clue where I had to go or what I had to do.

I would probably have stopped playing so many games if it weren't for the internet. I get stuck in games very easily, although modern quality-of-life features have tended to mitigate most of the reasons why.
