Must Have Movies

So, I'm thinking of obtaining some more DVD's to build somewhat of a classic collection, the films we've all seen before but the films we regard as cult classics...

So, if you could all drop in here and throw out some suggestions, no specific genre, but nothing that suits just your personal tastes either (so no underground Japanese Horror or something that only a select few enjoy).

Don't come in here and say Bambi or some stupid shit like that, because that would annoy me.

Cult classics? Here ya go:

The five "Jay and Silent Bob" films

UHF

Harold & Maude (though the DVD sucks)

The Girl Next Door (cult classic in training)

Ghost World

The Quentin Tarantino collection (but wait for Kill Bill to get released in special editions)

Snatch

Se7en

American History X

Donnie Darko

The Crow

Memento

John Carpenter's The Thing

Agh, how could I forget the Usual Suspects and American Beauty?

You could use the IMDB's top 250 movies, I guess it's kind of the set list for must have movies.

Here's the link: http://www.imdb.com/chart/top

Personnally, I think these are movies everyone needs in their collection:

The Godfather (all parts)

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

Casablanca

Citizen Kane

Psycho

Vertigo

Rear Window

Goodfellas

American Beauty

The Usual Suspects

American History X

The Third Man

Kill Bill 1 & 2

Die Hard With a Vengeance

Jurassic Park

The Lost World: Jurassic Park

Memento

Requiem for a Dream

FIGHT CLUB!

Stand by Me

Edit: Jurassic Park/The Lost World, and Die Hard may not be "cult" classics.

Fight Club

Silence Of The Lambs

Halloween

Hannibal

I dunno if they are cult classics, but they are all underappreciated and are all good movies as well.

I wouldn't call any of these movies underappreciated. Fight Club and Hannibal maybe, but Halloween is one of the highest grossing independent films of all time and set the standard for the slasher flick. And Silence of the Lambs is FAR from underappreciated.
