Irish superstar Pierce Brosnan will play suave superspy James Bond again - after patching up his feud with the Broccoli family. The Laws of Attraction actor, 51, was thought to have lost the prestigious job after film executives deemed him too old to continue playing the sexy secret agent. But despite reports British hunks Clive Owen and Jude Law have been approached to replace him, insiders say Pierce - who had publicly slammed the Broccoli's for delaying the project - is still their number one choice for Bond. A source says Barbara Broccoli told employees she had forgiven Brosnan's recent outbursts, as they didn't compare to the friction between her father Cubby and original Bond Sean Connery. Broccoli reportedly said, "If you knew what my father went through with Sean Connery, that's nothing."

Yay! Pierce Brosnan is still rocking on as 007! Thank god, he's great in the role, and at the moment I don't think anyone else could fill the role well enough.

I saw like 2 non bond movies with him, both sucked donky dick (the tomas crown flick and something with exploding whater ore so, don´t remember the name)

Good I'm glad...now hopefully he can convince those asshole Broccoli's to let Tarentino write and direct a low-budget "Casino Royale" movie instead of another mindless Bond film with a stupid plot and lame action.

Timothy Dalton! Wooohoo!

I like Moore too, he's the comedy Bond. But then I'm also partial to Timothy Dalton.

Connery > Brosnan > Moore > Dalton

Haven't seen the Lazenby one, OHMSS?

Connery >>>>> Moore > Lazenby > Dalton > Brosnan

Brosnan it sending the franchise into a downward spiral.

Connery is still the king of Bond and he could take up the role again tomorrow and pull out a far superior film to Brosnan.

I'm SOOO disillusioned with the direction of Bond right now...

Another "Rent on video to watch as a curiosity like looking out of my window at a car wreck" kind of situation.

I like Brosnan, the town where he was born and lived before moving to England which called Navan isn't to far from where I live, about 15 minutes away by car. Also I live nearer to where some scenes of Braveheart were filmed (Trim Castle is the castle, its the one that gets burned down in the film...least I think it does I not seen all the film).

Anyway on topic. He is a cool Bond, Goldeneye is still the better one his films. I think the Bond movies did loose something after Moonraker(that film made no sense and Jaws runs off with some ugly Hiedi type woman :S) . He should give up being Bond soon, he shouldnt stay in the role too long, maybe another one or two films then give it up.

Brosnan is a good Bond but every Bond feature he has done has been chronologically lower in quality.

It's as simple as this:

Goldeneye > Tommorow Never Dies > The World Is Not Enough > Die Another Day

I liked Tommorow Never Dies more then Goldeneye. I don't think it's Brosnan's fault though, it's the Broccoli's for not wanting to change the Bond formula which it desperetly needs to do because its become a parody of itself. hich is why I pray that Tarentino get's a chance but know the Broccoli's are dickheads and won't d it, they'll get some no-name directer to do it. They could have had Spielberg at one point but declined because THEY wanted to be in control of the film, not the directer. Which is why they get these no-name directers, so they can control them.

And Roger Moore was much more of a comedy Bond then Brosnan is. And how the hell can you say The World Is Not Enough is better then Die Another Day? The World Is Not Enough is one of the worse Bond's second only to Moonraker.

'For t'Sheffield James?'

Sean Bean is the worlds most versatile actor ever. Yorkshire MI5 agent, Yorkshire Irishman, Yorkshire man of Gondor, sure am looking forward to his Yorkshire Greek in Troy.

I can't even picture anyone else besides Brosnan playing Bond anymore. Thank God he's not getting replaced. The movies keep getting more fake each time a new one is made. Hopefully, they stay away from anything too drastic for the next one and hit the 3 main points of interest. Sex, Swerves, and Action.

A View From A Kill? License To Kill?

You know, Roger Moore's final

Bond which featured freaking Duran Duran music and the final Dalton one that was a poorly written and directed episode of Miami Vice?

They do need to change the Bond formula, without doubt, otherwise it's just gonna turn into the Police Academy movies, boring as fuck. I saw on old episode of James Bond Jr the other day, damn cheesy cartoon, the scary thing is, I could see them making the movie of that soon.

A forty year old franchise is going to turn into The Police Acadamy movies? Perhaps some people need to remember that history existed prior to when they were born?
