What are some popular pop songs?

try looking at the charts ;)

Ew.

Allow me to extend upon that, basically most pop music in the charts has been around for 3 months usually, and so it's continuous radio play has sucked the fun out of the rarely good 'Pop' song. Check out new releases on some kind of chart and you'd be better off, or check a radio play chart.

Not sure if most of those songs have been released in America- if they aren't, try a couple of the "official" chart sites: They tend to also have at the bottom a list of the newer songs that are up for adds (www.rronline.com is one I prefer for that stuff- it uses the list from Radio and Records that they also use for the American Top 40 and allows a spot for stuff going for adds.)

Put some Jackson 5 on, it'll make the night a success

"Don't Blame it on the Sunshine, Don't blame it on the moonlight, don't blame it on the good times, blame it on the boogie!!"

Or something like that.

I would go more for classic hits or some songs that will stay in 1990/2000 folk law of popular culture (Erm, whatever that means) as apposed to mostly new stuff, which people will probably be sick of.
