Horsemen Ride Again!

user posted imageuser posted imageuser posted image

Last night at Halloween Havoc live from Detroit, Michigan, World Championship Wrestling once again reformed the Four Horsemen stable.  So far only three members are known, 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair, 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman; the reformation of the stable occurred during the main event of the evening, a scheduled tag team match between Anderson and Pillman and Sting and Flair.  As readers will know, Flair and Anderson had been feuding over the previous months, with Anderson picking up a victory in their last singles meeting at Fall Brawl when Pillman interfered on Anderson's behalf.  Flair began a campaign to get Sting to become his tag team partner, including a gathering of more than thirty children in a wrestling ring at Nitro all painted up to look like the Stinger asking Sting to be The Nature Boy's partner.  Sting eventually agreed to team with Flair at Havoc to take on Anderson and Pillman, Flair then turned on Sting twenty-five minutes into the match, after Sting had taken a beating for the entirity of the match.  Flair, Anderson and Pillman beatdown The Stinger and then claimed to both loud cheers and boos from the Michigan crowd, that The Horsemen were back.

Many names are currently flying around in regards to who will become the fourth Horsemen, early reports suggest that 'Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit who has impressed many since his switch to WCW from ECW is in line for the position.  Other names currently reported as in contention are Diamond Dallas Page, Dean Malenko and Paul Roma.

WCW World Championship Vacant

As announced on Monday Night Nitro last week the WCW World Championship has been vacated following the actions of Jimmy Hart, who double-crossed then World Champion Hulk Hogan and signed a clause into the contract that said that the WCW World Heavyweight Title could change hands on a disqualification without telling his client.  The Giant who went on to win the title via disqualifaction at Halloween Havoc was stripped of the title following Jimmy Hart's revelation, The Giant then fired Hart as his manager and vowed to get the title back by any means neccesary.

World Championship Wrestling officials then went on to annouce that the World Title would be up for grabs for the winner of the first ever World War Three 60-man battle royale event that will take place at the end of November.  This event will take place in three rings in Norfolk, VA, more information about the event and other matches that will take place at it are expected in the coming weeks.

Nice backstory, NBT, and I'm sure this diary will be as good as your past diaries have been, but shouldn't Pillman be a heel, as one third of the current Horsemen, be a heel? Just an observation.

Anyway, you have a great starting point, and if it's anything like your other projects, I'll be checking it out.

EDIT: I noticed you had David Taylor with no nickname. I believe he was "Squire" David Taylor at this point, although I may be wrong.

You are quite right on both counts BD. I could of sworn I changed Pillman's status before I posted this as I was planning on starting before Pillman joined Arn, but anyway who cares. I couldn't remember Taylor's nickname, but once you said it I knew it was right.

Sasaki Flopping As US Champ?

user posted image

According to insider sources at World Championship Wrestling it would appear as a small, yet influential faction led by Larry Zybysko are campaigning for reigning WCW United States Champion, Kensuke Sasaki to drop the title as soon as possible.  Zybysko, apparently seconded by David Schultz and Bill Busch, believe that Sasaki is heatless, despite the fact that WCW flew in Bull Nakano to second him and that WCW have spent large amounts of television time and resources on video packages for the champion that have as of yet been ill received by both live and home audiences.

It would appear however that Sasaki does have people on his side, although this is mainly due to the fact that WCW are currently in negotiations with New Japan Pro Wrestling in regards to setting up a wrestling tournament between the two companies that would take place at this year's Starrcade, as reported in this magazine two weeks ago, and those people believe that taking the title from Sasaki could sour the deal at a critical stage.

Monday Night Nitro Preview - Shadow Of The Fourth Horsemen?

user posted image

World Championship Wrestling today dropped a bombshell by announcing that live on Monday Night Nitro, firm crowd favourite and possible future World Champion, Sting will be taking on 'The Enforcer' of the re-united Four Horsemen, Arn Anderson.  These two men will lock horns in the main event of the evening, which will also see both Ric Flair and Brian Pillman barred from ringside.  A furious Flair and Pillman announced that they will still be in the building to watch their stable mate Anderson beat Sting fair and square in the middle of the ring, fans this is one match that you do not want to miss.

In other action, reigning WCW Tag Team Champions, Harlem Heat will defend their titles against the due of Kendall Windham and Steve Armstrong, will the Heat continue their impressive form of late and beat their opponents? Or will Windham and Armstrong be able to pull of what many would call an upset?

Harlem Heat will not be the only champions defend their titles on Nitro, as WCW Television Champion Johnny B Badd will take on veteran member of Studs Stable, 'Dirty' Dick Slater.  Will Badd's fast-punching, high impact game be too much for the experienced Slater? Or will Slater show Badd that he still has a few tricks up his sleeve?

'Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit has demonstrated his mean streak in the past few months destroying numerous wrestlers and leaving many on the injured list, on Monday Nitro, Benoit will go up against Ricky Santana in what could be his toughest match to date in the company.  Santana a champion multiple times over throughout the world will be no push over for the man from Canada, this will be one match that nobody will want to miss.

The Giant has been on a rampage since having the WCW World Title stripped from him, will the monster turn up at Nitro? Nobody has seen him since he fired Jimmy Hart last month.  Lex Luger is another man who has been out of control as of late and Randy Savage has been the man that has been on the receiving end of a lot of his punishment, will either two of these superstars show up at Nitro? And what will be the consequences if they do?

All this and much more will go down on Monday Night Nitro.

Match Listings

The Nitro fireball explodes onto our screens as the TNT logo flashes up with the metallic letters spelling out 'Monday Nitro' above it, we pan into the sold out arena, the camera floating over the heads of the Ohio crowd who cheer wildly as the opening theme of the show plays throughout the arena. The camera switches to a view of our three commentators for the evening, Tony Schiavone, sat in the middle of the three men wearing a black suit and tie with a white shirt, Eric Bischoff to Schiavone's left, also in a suit and tie, his hair permed and a smarmy smile on his face and Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan on the right in a blue shirt who as the camera focuses in on him seems to be staring off into the crowd, before turning to the camera and sticking his nose up at the fans.

Tony Schiavone: Wrestling fans welcome to Monday Night Nitro live from the sold out Hara Arena here in Dayton, Ohio for what will be two hours of the best live wrestling action you can see anywhere on a Monday night

Eric Bischoff: Of the best live action? Tony we're the only live wrestling action on a Monday night

Tony Schiavone: Right you are, fans I'm Tony Schiavone and alongside me tonight, WCW President Eric Bischoff and 'The Brain' himself, Bobby Heenan

Eric Bischoff: Good evening fans

Bobby Heenan: What's up ham 'n' eggers

Tony Schiavone: And fans we have an action packed night in store for you, World Tag Team Champions Harlem are here and will be defending their titles against the team of Kendall Windham and Steve Armstrong, Television Champion Johnny B Badd will take on Dick Slater in another title match, Chris Benoit, 'The Canadian Crippler' will take on Ricky Santana and Eric, get this, Sting will take on 'The Enforcer', and member of the Four Horsemen, Arn Anderson

Bobby Heenan: Wow!

Eric Bischoff: Its another huge Nitro Tony, just look at that line up, two, not one but TWO, WCW Title matches, two of the best technical wrestlers in the world today locking horns and of course Sting and Arn Anderson, you don't get this sort of action at any federation on the air

Bobby Heenan: And I know you mentioned it but lets backtrack, Sting against Arn Anderson that isn't a match proclaiming to be a main event when it isn't... Its Sting against Arn Anderson, the history of those two men, the feud that has brewed between them over the years, tonight another chapter is to be written right here in Dayton, Ohio

Eric Bischoff: Indeed, LIVE in front of a SELL-OUT crowd, two other things you don't see on any other federation's television shows airing this evening

Tony Schiavone: Eric and The Brain said it best, tonight is going to be a night like no other, fans around the world have been waiting in anticipation for tonight's show, Sting and Arn Anderson with the Horsemen, Ric Flair and Brian Pillman barred from ringside, Mexican highflyer Rey Mysterio Jnr taking on German sensation 'Wunderkid' Alex... Wait a minute fans, I'm told we need to go backstage right now, it would appear Nitro has already gotten off to a hectic start

Luger Isn't Wasting Any Time Tonight!

We cut backstage to find Lex Luger stomping away on the prone body of 'Macho Man' Randy Savage. Luger continues to kick and stomp away on Savage's ribcage before picking up the Savage and ramming him head first into the wall of the corridor. Luger takes off his white wifebeater and begins to strangle Savage with it, Savage's flail about, the red and yellow tassles on his body length wrestling gear swing about with every heeve that Luger gives on the choking implement. Luger then releases the choke and pushes Savage down to the concrete, he kicks 'The Macho One' in the ribs three more times for good measure before picking up his top and walking away down the corridor, presumably towards his locker room. (89%)

Bobby Heenan: Whoa! Savage looks like that mess you get when you drop ketchup and mustard at the time, there is red and yellow all over the floor back there! Luger is showing his mean streak tonight

Tony Schiavone: What sort of a man though Brain attacks another man from behind like that?

Bobby Heenan: A winner

Eric Bischoff: What?

Bobby Heenan: Well would you call Randy Savage a winner when he's just been beaten to a pulp back there?

Eric Bischoff: No

Bobby Heenan: Then Luger is the winner and you know I'm beginning to like the guy, he carries on like this and I'd even consider managing again

Tony Schiavone: I'm sure he'll be thrilled to hear that Brain, but you've got wonder why Lex attacked Randy Savage

Bobby Heenan: A great strategist never gives away all his plans

Tony Schiavone: You could be right Brain, anyway fans we're going to have to move on here to the first match of the evening and what a treat we have in store as Rey Mysterio Junior is going to take on Alex Wright, two high class athletes getting ready to take each other right here on Monday Nitro

Eric Bischoff: Its only here on Nitro that you can see wrestlers of this calibre from all around the world in action Brain

Bobby Heenan: That's because we have a magnifying glass in front of the camera lens so the ham 'n' eggers can actually see these guys

Rey Mysterio Jnr Vs. 'Wunderkid' Alex Wright

In ring we can already see 'Wunderkid' Alex Wright leaning against the turnbuckle in the back right hand corner of the ring, Wright is in his light green wrestling trunks and black boots, the crowd barely respond to his insults and jibes. Referee Randy Anderson walks over and checks Wright over for international objects as Rey Mysterio Jnr's music hits and he walks to the ring. The WCW fans slightly respond to the sight of Rey making his way to the ring, the small masked man jumps up onto the apron and then slingshots into the ring to a small reaction from the fans at ringside, a small graphic flashes up both men's names as Anderson checks over Mysterio for weapons. The bell rings and the first match is underway.

Mysterio and Wright quickly circle each other before locking up, Wright easily takes control of his smaller opponent and applies a Side Headlock, Mysterio manages to push him off into the ropes but gets Shoulderblocked down by the German. Wright comes off of the ropes and jumps over the body of Mysterio, Mysterio gets back to his feet and manages to catch Wright with a Hurracanrana and send him flying across the ring. The crowd seem to wake up after the big move as Rey quickly picks up Wright and whips into the far turnbuckle, Rey runs in after Wright and runs up his chest, backflipping away and landing on his feet taunting Wright, Wright charges out and misses a Clothesline, as he turns around Mysterio Dropkicks the knee to send Wright to the mat, Mysterio drops a Knee and goes for a cover, 1... 2.. Kickout from Wright.

Tony Schiavone: A fast paced opening to this first match here on Nitro, this young Mysterio is really looking to make an impact here tonight

Bobby Heenan: This guy is like a pinball, one second he's that side of the ring, then he's on the other!

Both men are quickly back to their feet, Wright takes over from a tie up and scores with a quick Suplex, he stomps on Mysterio once before picking him and whipping him across the ring, Wright looks for Backdrop but Mysterio manages to flip over and land on his feet, as Wright turns around Mysterio plants him with a Dropkick that sends the German flying from the ring. Mysterio runs across the ring as Wright is getting to his feet, Mysterio jumps over the top rope with ease and hits a Plancha that sends both men crashing into the safety barrier.

Eric Bischoff: Only right here on Nitro Tony, only here will you see moves like that

Bobby Heenan: Unbelievable!

Mysterio is the first man to his feet, the crowd at ringside really getting into the action as Mysterio climbs onto the apron and raises his hands above his head to some cheers. Wright slowly gets to his feet and Mysterio launches himself from the apron, Mysterio looks for a Hurracanrana but Wright catches him in midair and plants him with a Powerbomb on the outside of the ring. Wright rolls into the ring with a smile on his face, the crowd boo slightly as Randy Anderson begins to count Mysterio out. The count gets to five and Wright walks over to check on Mysterio and shout some abuse at him, Randy Anderson pushes Wright back away from the ropes breaking the count, so Wright slides out of the ring and goes out to get Mysterio himself. The German picks the masked wrestler up and chops him across the chest, he looks to whip Mysterio into the steel post of the ring but Mysterio manages to reverse it and send Wright crashing head first into the post!

Tony Schiavone: Mysterio managing to avoid disaster that time, Wright however was not so lucky

Wright stumbles around holding his head only to be thrown back into the ring by Mysterio, Mysterio climbs up onto the apron and then slingshots into the ring dropping a Leg across the throat of Alex Wright, Mysterio makes a cover, 1... 2... Kickout from Wright. Mysterio is the first man up and he climbs to the second rope and waits for Wright to get to his feet, as he does Mysterio launches off with a Dropkick that sends his opponent back down to the mat, Mysterio points to the top rope and receives cheers from the Ohio fans, he climbs to the top rope facing away from the ring and looks for a Moonsault, WRIGHT ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY and Mysterio crashes into the canvas, the impact of the landing causes Mysterio to bounce back up onto his feet however, Wright pushes Mysterio from behind into the turnbuckle sternum first, Mysterio stumbles out backwards and Wright nails the GERMAN SUPLEX, Randy Anderson makes the count, 1.... 2.... Mysterio just rolls off of his shoulders!

Bobby Heenan: Back and forth, back and forth these two guys are really putting it on the line tonight

Tony Schiavone: And fans this is only the first match, still to come Chris Benoit against Ricky Santana, Harlem Heat defending their Tag Team Titles, Johnny B Badd is in action... LEX LUGER as we already know is in the building will we see any more of him here tonight in Dayton, Ohio? And of course the main event, 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson, Double A himself against The Man Known as STING, yes fans, THE STINGER is in action tonight is one night you do not want to miss... We have to take a break!

**COMMERCIAL BREAK**

Tony Schiavone: Welcome back fans, during the break the action continued at an explosive pace with both men getting near falls following two big impact moves, Alex Wright catching Mysterio in midair and hitting a powerful Side Walk Slam for a two count and Rey Mysterio almost picking up the win following a Tilt-A-Whirl Headscissors

Bobby Heenan: I'm out of breath just calling this one Schiavone, these are two high calibre athletes

Eric Bischoff: That's why they're here Brain, this is WCW where the big boys play, the most talented men in the world come here, why? Because everyone knows if you want to prove yourself you have to do it in WCW

We rejoin the action with Wright in control of Mysterio with an Abdominal Stretch, Mysterio however manages to wriggle his small frame out of the prediciment and spins behind his German opponent, Mysterio kicks the back of Wright's knee sending him down to the canvas on his knees, Mysterio runs off the ropes on the opposite side and then Dropkicks Wright in the face, Mysterio makes the cover, 1... 2... Wright gets his foot on the ropes. Both men get back to their feet, Mysterio however is the more lively of the two and scores with a quick kick to the thigh of Wright and follows that up by Irish Whipping him into the corner, Mysterio follows in with a Back-first Splash that causes Wright to stumble of of the corner and to the centre of the ring, Mysterio is quickly up to the top rope and hits a Flying Crossbody Block on Wright, cover, 1... 2... Kickout from Wright

Tony Schiavone: Mysterio is beginning to hit some big moves now

Bobby Heenan: Did you see the way he flew through the air then? If most Mexicans could fly like that they wouldn't have to swim over our borders!

Mysterio is first up once again, but his attempted right hand is blocked by Wright who then follows up with a big knee to the stomach of Mysterio. Wright performs a Backbreaker with ease on his smaller opponent, but then has to shake his knee out a little afterwards, Wright picks Mysterio up again and clubs him with a big Forearm across the back, he whips Mysterio into the ropes and looks for a Clothesline, Mysterio ducks underneath and comes off of the farside ropes, Wright manages to catch Mysterio with a boot to the stomach to double his opponent over, Wright picks Mysterio up and hits a Doctorbomb in the middle of the ring, he makes the cover, 1... 2... Kickout, Wright hits the mat in frustration and picks Mysterio up again, he looks for another Doctorbomb, but Mysterio counters into a Hurracanrana, cover, 1.... 2.... 3!!!

Winner: Rey Mysterio Jnr (63%/47%/80%)

Bobby Heenan: Whew! What a way to start of the show, I need a sit down after that one

Tony Schiavone: You are sitting down Brain

Bobby Heenan: I know that, do I look like an idiot to you?

Tony Schiavone: **Ignoring Brain** Rey Mysterio there picking up the victory on a night where Sting takes on Arn Anderson in what will surely be a main event that'll go down in history

Eric Bischoff: And the big deciding factor is the fact that members of The Horsemen, Ric Flair and Brian Pillman, are barred from ringside. A decision that I myself had authorise.

Tony Schiavone: Eric Bischoff, WCW President there. Why exactly did you bar The Horsemen from ringside Eric?

Eric Bischoff: Lets face it Tony, we all know what The Horsemen are like, a singles match between Double A and The Stinger would soon turn into a three on one and the fans don't want to see that, they want to see Sting get his hands on Arn Anderson, after what happened to him at Halloween Havoc Sting deserves retribution and tonight I'm giving him the level playing field he needs to get it

Bobby Heenan: But come on, Sting loves being the outnumbered guy, he's done it all his life... It gives him an excuse when he loses

Tony Schiavone: Oh come on Brain!

Bobby Heenan: It's true, why else would he always fight against The Horsemen?

Tony Schiavone: Some people fight for what is right Brain

Bobby Heenan: Some people jump off buildings, why doesn't Sting go and do that?

Tony Schiavone: Fans, I'm being told that backstage we have Mean Gene Okerlund with The Horsemen, over to you Gene!

Bobby Heenan: Finally, set 'em straight Ric!

Updated Horsemen, Same Old Sting

We cut backstage to find Mean Gene Okerlund standing next to 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair, 'Double A' Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman, the group collectively known as The Horsemen. They stand in front of silver mesh background that has a WCW Nitro sign hanging off it at a crooked angle, Flair and Pillman are dressed in street clothes, while Arn is in his wrestling trunks with a Horsemen top on, Mean Gene turns to Ric Flair to start the interview.

Mean Gene Okerlund: Ric Flair, last month at Halloween Hav...

Ric Flair: **Grabbing the microphone** Whoooooooooooooooo, Mean Gene you don't need to fill the people in back home about what happened at Halloween Havoc because lets face it **Flair swings his arm around at the other two men standing beside him** anyone who is anyone already knows what happened at Halloween Havoc. **All three men chuckle to themselves** WHAT HAPPENED?!? WHAT HAPPENED?!? WHAT'S CAUSIN' ALL THIS?!? Whoooooooooooo, The Horsemen, Gene, The Horsemen are causing all this, The Horsemen, Double A, Brian and The Nature Boy, they're what's causing all this! The reformation of the greatest wrestling group of all time, that is what is causin' all this, the new and improved, revamped and restyled, the rockin' and rollin', back with a vengeance Horsemen, that's whats causin' all this! But I'll tell you what's not causin anything Gene, that two-bit hack Sting, he thinks he can come out here and tell The Horsemen what to do? He thinks he can run around and get Bischoff to ban us from ringside? I got news for you Stinger, three on one, two on one or one on one you'll never beat a Horsemen! 'Cause Sting you never see it comin, you didn't even realise what was goin' on at Havoc, you're still the same old stupid kid that I used to kick around in the old days and you still haven't got what it takes to be 'The Man'. I mean Sting, I like you, I respect you, but you're just not good enough to make an impression on The Horsemen, so go around and get Bischoff to ban Brian and me from ringside, Arn is still gonna take care of business the way only a Horsemen can

Arn Anderson: **Taking the microphone from Flair** That's right, you see a lot of people don't seem to understand what The Horsemen are all about, by now Sting I thought you would of learned but it looks like I'll have to tell you again, and Bischoff you might as well listen up as well, being a Horsemen isn't something you take off at night and put on in the morning, being a Horsemen isn't something you can will yourself to be, you're either a Horsemen or your not, it is that simple. Being a Horsemen means you are the best in professional wrestling, it means that you are better than everyone else and going out and proving it night after night, day after day. Sting facing you tonight alone will be a pleasure because once and for all in front of all your fans we can prove that you're never going to be good enough to match any of The Horsemen.

Brian Pillman: **Is passed the microphone** Haha, tonight marks the beginning of a new era for The Horsemen, after tonight we'll be riding off into the sunset leaving nothing but destruction, carnage and Sting's broken and battered body in our wake. WCW you had better wake up real fast, real soon, because The Horsemen are real and we're here to stay!

The three men place their hands on top of one another in a show of solidarity before leaving Mean Gene Okerlund standing hold the microphone by himself. (100%)

Bobby Heenan: You hear that Schiavone? This is The Horsemen's night

Tony Schiavone: We'll have to wait and see Brain

Bobby Heenan: You doubt The Horsemen?

Tony Schiavone: No but I believe in Sting

Bobby Heenan: Belief schmelif! When Sting's lying facing down at the end of the night, then you'll believe in The Horsemen

Tony Schiavone: There is still a long way to go before then fans, we're going to take a commercial break but don't go away, still to come tonight Harlem Heat defending the WCW Tag Team Titles, Johnny B Badd is in action against Dick Slater, Chris Benoit takes on Ricky Santana and of course THE STINGER takes on ARN ANDERSON of The Horsemen, don't go away

**COMMERCIAL BREAK**

Tony Schiavone: Welcome back fans, during the break both Jeff Farmer and Ice Train made their way out to the ring for what should be an interesting match up

Eric Bischoff: Both of these guys are looking to make a name for themselves here in WCW and tonight they get that opportunity, that's what WCW is about pitting the best against the best and letting guys make a name for themselves

Tony Schiavone: This match of course fans was announced first on the WCW Hotline manned by our very own Mike Tenay, for all the hot, hot news on WCW call 1-900-909-9900. Kids get your parents permission before making the call.

Bobby Heenan: Or make the call anyway and then blame the kid next door

Tony Schiavone: Lets go to ringside

Ice Train Vs. Jeff Farmer

We move over to ringside to find the huge and muscular African-American, Ice Train locking up with the smaller Jeff Farmer. Train easily pushes Farmer to the mat with authority, causing Farmer to grab the back of his head in pain, Train taunts the crowd to a minimal reaction. Train picks up Farmer and whips him into the ropes before delivering a big time Shoulderblock that sends Farmer back to the mat. Train clubs Farmer over the back with a big Forearm before whipping him into the corner, Train charges in but Farmer manages to move out of the way, he hits Train with a few Forearms before bouncing off of the ropes and hitting a Flying Shoulderblock to take the big man off of his feet. Farmer quickly covers but only gets one.

Tony Schiavone: A fairly even start to this match here, Ice Train however looks to have the size and strength advantage

Bobby Heenan: Looks to have the size advantage? That guy goes to Liberty Island and blocks out the Statue

Both men are back to their feet and Farmer once again tries to take Train down with a flying move, this time looking for a Crossbody, Train catches him easily in midair and slams him down, Train stomps away on the fallen body of Farmer

Tony Schiavone: Is that? That's LEX LUGER!?!

Lex Luger slides into the ring with a black baseball bat in his hand, Ice Train turns around and Luger swings for the fences right into Train's ribcage doubling him over, Luger then smashes the bat over and over into Train's back sending him down to the canvas, Luger then picks up Jeff Farmer and Gorilla Presses him with ease, Luger walks around the ring with Farmer above his head before throwing Farmer over the top rope to the floor! Ice Train slowly climbs to his feet, Luger picks up the bat and hits Ice Train with the end of the bat right in the trachea! Train holds his throat stumbling around the ring, Luger delivers the RUNNING FOREARM to Train sending him through the ropes to the outside leaving Luger alone in the ring

No Contest (40%/33%/48%)

Tony Schiavone: Fans it would appear that this one is over prematurely thanks to the actions of Lex Luger

Bobby Heenan: Did you see that? Luger has completely annihilated those two

Tony Schiavone: But why? Jeff Farmer, Ice Train and earlier tonight 'The Macho Man' Randy Savage, why is Luger attacking people like this?

Lex Luger calls for a microphone while walking around the ring staring at the fallen bodies of Jeff Farmer and Ice Train, a member of the stage crew passes Luger a microphone and Luger then stands in the middle of the ring

Luger Puts WCW On Notice

Lex Luger: You see this? YOU SEE THIS? This is what is going to happen to anyone that stands in my way from now on. Last week Eric Bischoff said that whoever won the Sixty Man Battle Royale at World War Three would become the new World Champion... Well right here and now you are looking at the first entrant for the Sixty Man Battle Royale and I don't care who it is from hasbeens like Randy Savage to nobodies like these two losers here if you get in my way you will be taken care of. World War Three is going to see Lex Luger walk away with the gold and everyone in WCW is on notice because I don't care who you are nobody, NOBODY, is stopping me from winning that title! (77%)

Luger throws the microphone down and climbs out of the ring, he picks up the baseball bat and gives Ice Train and Jeff Farmer a few more shots to the ribs while they are still down to the boos and jeers of the fans lining the aisleway before raising the ballbat in the air and then walking back to the locker room.

Bobby Heenan: There you go Schiavone, you wanted to know why Luger was doing all this and now you do... And we now know who to blame for it all

Tony Schiavone: Who?

Bobby Heenan: Bischoff

Eric Bischoff: WHAT!?! I haven't had anything to do with Lex Luger

Bobby Heenan: No, but you made that match at World War Three for the World Title and now Luger's out to get it by any means necessary and that guy doesn't take kindly to not getting what he wants

Tony Schiavone: He'll still have to go through fifty-nine other men though Brain if he wants to win that title

Bobby Heenan: Luger is one of those men that could do that though, he's tough, he's muscular and he's got a mean streak a mile wide. He could easily be one of the early favourites for that title

Tony Schiavone: So Lex Luger is the first man in the World War Three Battle Royale for the vacant WCW World Title and fans we'll keep you informed to as and when other WCW superstars enter the match

Eric Bischoff: And it may not just be WCW wrestlers getting involved, I've had calls from wrestlers in other companies who are just chomping at the bit for a shot at the real World's Title

**COMMERCIAL BREAK**

Tony Schiavone: Welcome back fans, hope you are enjoying tonights broadcast, on a night where we have already seen Lex Luger announce his intentions of becoming the next WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Rey Mysterio defeating Alex Wright and The Horsemen proclaiming that tonight is going to be their night

Eric Bischoff: But its not over yet, there are still five more matches on the card including two WCW Title matches, Johnny B Badd taking on Dick Slater and Harlem Heat defending against Kendall Windham and Steve Armstrong

Bobby Heenan: Its a night of big matches and lets not forget the biggest of them all Arn Anderson taking on Sting, even I can't wait for Sting to get beaten from pillar to post in that one!

Eric Bischoff: Only in WCW Brain will you see action like this live every Monday night

Tony Schiavone: And up next The Blue Bloods, 'Lord' Steven Regal and 'Earl' Bobby Eaton will be taking on the Lightning Express, Tim Horner and Brad Armstrong, lets go to ringside.

The Blue Bloods Vs. The Lightning Express

Tim Horner and Brad Armstrong are already in the ring as 'Lord' Steven Regal, 'Earl' Bobby Eaton and 'Squire' David Taylor make their way out into the arena to a chorus of boos and jeers from the Ohio crowd. Regal leads the way down to ringside, his head high in the air practically looking down on each and everyone of the fans in attendance. Regal and Eaton are dressed in red wrestling trunks and royal blue wrestling boots while Taylor is in a black suit with a white shirt, he also carries a cane and has a monocle over one eye. Regal climbs into the ring after wiping his feet on the apron and orders the referee to move Armstrong and Horner to the farside of the ring as Bobby Eaton makes his way into the ring.

Tony Schiavone: Not exactly the most gracious of residents we have here in WCW

Bobby Heenan: Not the most gracious? Tony these three men are more gracious and well to do than you could ever dream of, its in their breeding! Just look at Steven Regal, he's a Lord back in England you know

Bobby Eaton walks to the middle of the ring as Regal makes his way out to the apron, Armstrong and Horner slap hands before Horner makes his way towards Eaton as the opening bell sounds. Eaton and Horner lock up, Eaton eases his way into control of a Hammerlock, which is reversed by Horner into one of his own, Eaton escapes that by Snapmereing Horner over into a sitting position, Eaton kicks Horner hard in the base of the back and then pulls him up to his feet, Eaton nails three consecutive European Uppercuts and then Suplexs Horner with ease, he makes a cover, 1... 2.. Kickout from Horner. Eaton pulls Horner up from the mat and whips him into the Blue Blood corner, Eaton tags in Regal who pulls Horner from the corner and appies an Armwringer, Eaton quickly climbs the ropes and comes off the second turnbuckle with a Double Axehandle across the unprotected shoulder, Regal applies an Armbar to the fallen Horner who struggles on the mat.

Eric Bischoff: You've got to admit it, these Brits have great tag team chemistry. They pick a body part and then go to work on it, that's why they're here in WCW, because they are the best at what they do

Bobby Heenan: Right, Regal is a great mat wrestler, Bobby Eaton is a technical wizard and Taylor... Well he looks good in a monocle

Horner struggles to get his free arm under the ropes causing Regal to break the hold, the damage seemingly done to Horner's arm already. Regal Hammerlocks the arm of Horner once again and then proceeds to slam him down on it, Regal makes a cover, 1... 2.. Kickout, Regal keeps on top of Horner and pins him again, 1... 2... Kickout, once again Regal tries for the pin, 1... 2.. Kickout. Regal pulls Horner up to a vertical base and drives his knees repeatedly into the stomach of his opponent before putting him down to the mat with a big knee to the face. Regal tags out and brings in Eaton once again who immediately goes for a cover, 1... 2.. Kickout. Eaton picks up Horner, he hooks the injured arm and then delivers a High Angle Back Suplex that sends Horner down at a dangerous angle with his injured arm taking the majority of the impact, Eaton is quickly up, he walks over to one of the free corners, he walks in towards Horner and delivers a big Kneedrop to the shoulder, Eaton makes a cover, 1... 2... Kickout. Eaton drives his knee into the shoulder two times from his covering positions and then retreats back out to the corner, Eaton walks back in and looks for another big Kneedrop but Horner moves out of the way! Eaton lies clutching his knee as Horner struggles to make it to his corner... Horner makes the tag to Brad Armstrong.

Tony Schiavone: Eaton made a mistake there and he could be in trouble now

Eric Bischoff: Brad Armstrong with a big chance here, can he take it?

Armstrong gets into the ring just as Eaton is getting to his feet, Armstrong knocks him down with a Clothesline and then another as Eaton gets back up, Regal is knocked off of the apron by Armstrong who then goes back to back to Eaton, Armstrong delivers a Side Suplex and then an Elbow Drop as Regal climbs back onto the apron to complain to the referee, Armstrong turns around right into a cane shot from David Taylor, who snuck into the ring behind the referee's back! Regal returns to his corner as Taylor gets out of the ring, Eaton picks up Armstrong and scores with a Bulldog, dropping Armstrong down right in the middle of the ring, he makes the cover, 1... 2... Kickout from Armstrong.

Tony Schiavone: Even by cheating they couldn't keep Brad Armstrong down then

Bobby Heenan: That was cheating, back in England they do that sort of thing all the time and nobody raises an eyelid. A kid steps outta line, BAM, cane shot to the head

Tony Schiavone: Brain, that was cheating and you know it

Bobby Heenan: Hey all I'm saying is, if we invite these guys over from England we've gotta expect them to play by their rules and if that means Brad Armstrong gets hit in the head with a cane, then I say let them hit Brad Armstrong with a cane

Tony Schiavone: Well nevertheless fans it didn't get a three count but we do have to take a commercial break, fans do not go away

Bobby Heenan: Yeah or we'll hit you with a cane

**COMMERCIAL BREAK**

Tony Schiavone: And we're back fans, live from Dayton, Ohio and... Brain, what are you doing?

Bobby Heenan: I'm hitting that guy from Illonis who changed channels during the commercial with a cane, what does it look like?

Tony Schiavone: Anyway, fans we are back, during the break Bobby Eaton and Steven Regal kept the advantage gained from David Taylor's illegal cane shot, keeping Brad Armstrong grounded, lets head back to the action

We rejoin the match with Regal picking up Armstrong and whipping him into the ropes, Regal looks for a Backbody Drop but Armstrong manages to catch him with a Forearm across the back and a quick Jawbreaker to put Regal on his back, Armstrong manages to make it across and tag in his partner, Tim Horner, who comes into the ring all fired up, Regal sees him coming however and manages to Drop Toe Hold him down to the mat, Regal picks up Horner and knees him hard in the stomach, doubling him over, Regal double underhooks Horner and delivers Butterfly Suplex with a bridge, the referee makes the cover, 1... 2... 3

Winners: The Blue Blood (Regal over Horner) (63%/54%/72%)

Eric Bischoff: The Blue Bloods really showing why they have a spot here on the World Championship Wrestling roster, that was an impressive victory

Bobby Heenan: What else do you expect? Back in England these guys are wrestling champions, they're here in WCW for the exact same thing

Tony Schiavone: Fans don't forget still to come tonight, Harlem Heat defending the WCW World Tag Team Titles against Kendall Windham and Steve Armstrong, Chris Benoit taking on Ricky Santana, Johnny B Badd in action against Dick Slater with the Television Title on the line

Bobby Heenan: And don't forget the big one Schiavone, Sting taking on Arn Anderson of The Horsemen

Tony Schiavone: Right you are Brain and what a big match that will be. But up next Johnny B Badd will be taking on Dick Slater in a Television Title match

Eric Bischoff: Fifteen minutes to prove that you're the man. WCW is the only wrestling federation to have a time limit on each and every defence of a title to ensure that the matches are of a higher quality and fast pace and tonight Dick Slater gets a chance at trying to get that title away from Johnny B Badd

Kensuke Sasaki - United States Champion

We cut to a quick video for reigning United States Champion, Kensuke Sasaki, we see Sasaki holding the US Title up in the air with his second Bull Nakano standing next to him clapping. Some very stereotypical Japanese music plays as we see Sasaki hitting his patented Northern Lights Bomb on numerous opponents before the music comes to an end with a loud symbol crash and the words 'Kensuke Sasaki' fade onto the screen. (46%)

'Dirty' Dick Slater Vs. Johnny B Badd © - WCW Television Title Match, 15 Minute Time Limit

We come back to ringside from the video to find Dick Slater and his manager Colonel Parker making their way to ringside, Parker, manager of Studs Stable gets into an argument with a fan at ringside as Slater climbs into the ring and begins to throw out insults at the crowd. Johnny B Badd's music hits and the crowd react positively as the WCW Television Champion makes his way into the arena, Badd stands at the top of the aisle and throws a few jabs out into the air while shuffling on his feet, he walks down the aisle undoing his orange with black trim robe to reveal the Television Title wrapped around his waist. Badd slaps the hands of some of the fans as he walks towards the ring, he then jumps up onto the apron and then jumps over the top rope into the ring itself to big cheers, he walks around the ring throwing out a few more airjabs before taking off his robe and title.

Tony Schiavone: Well the fans are clearly behind the champion in this match between two wrestlers from very different eras. Slater, the veteran with Parker at his side is as dangerous as ever but Badd is quick on his feet and lethal with his hands, this should be a fascinating contest Brain

Bobby Heenan: For you maybe, for me, I already know Slater is gonna punk out this Badd fella and walk away with the gold here tonight

Eric Bischoff: It could happen, anything can happen on a live broadcast Brain

The bell rings and the two men begin to circle around the ring, Badd throws out a few more lefts and rights before darting in and trying for an early lock up, Slater fends him away and the two men circle each other once more before locking up in the middle of the ring. Slater immediately grabs a Headlock and begins to squeeze on the neck of the champion, Badd manages to push Slater off into the ropes but he comes back with a Shoulderblock that sends the champion down hard to the mat. Slater drops an Elbow but Badd manages to roll out of the way and kip up onto his feet to the cheers of the crowd, as Slater gets to his feet Badd looks to whip him into the corner only for Slater to reverse it and send Badd into the corner. Slater follows up with a Running Charge but Badd moves out of the way, he hits Slater with a few quick Forearms but Slater manages to shrug them off and pull Badd into the corner, Slater looks for a big chop, Badd ducks out of the corner and behind Slater, Slater turns around only to be Monkey Flipped across the ring.

Tony Schiavone: Badd is just too quick for Slater here in the early going

Slater gets back to his feet only to get Dropkicked down to the mat by Badd, Badd makes a cover, 1... 2... Kickout from Slater. Both men back to a vertical base, they tie up, Badd looks for an Irish Whip but Slater reverses it into a Short-armed Clothesline, he stomps on the fallen champion as Colonel Parker claps from the outside. Slater slowly picks up Badd and knees him in the stomach, Slater hooks Badd up for a Suplex, he holds Badd up in the air breifly before falling backwards to the mat, Slater makes a cover, 1... 2.. Kickout from Badd. Slater picks up Badd and backs him into a corner, he works him over with Forearms and Chops as Parker watches on from below. Slater begins to choke Badd as the referee administers a count, Parker jumps up on the apron to get the referee's attention away from his client as Slater continues with the choking to the boos and jeers of the crowd. Parker climbs down from the apron as Slater pushes Badd down to the mat, he makes a cover, 1... 2... Kickout from Badd.

Tony Schiavone: Johnny B Badd not going down that time, it'll take more than that to get the title from around his waist

Slater picks up the champion, badmouthing as he does, and whips him into the ropes, he knocks down Badd with a Clothesline, Badd won't stay down however and struggles up to his feet, Slater whips him into the ropes and this time scores with a Back Elbow, which once again doesn't keep Badd down. Slater knees Badd in the stomach and clubs him hard across the back before whipping him into the corner, Slater follows up with more Forearms and Kicks in the corner before whipping Badd into the opposite corner, Badd hits with a big impact and stumbles out of the corner dazed, Slater Bulldogs Badd to the mat and goes for the cover, 1.... 2.... BADD GETS HIS FOOT ON THE ROPE. Slater picks up Badd and clubs him across the back a few times before applying a Abdominal Stretch.

Bobby Heenan: I told ya ol' Dick Slater would be in charge of this one tonight, he's taking the title home with him right here on Nitro

Tony Schiavone: That certainly is a possibility Brain, fans don't forget still to come Chris Benoit and Ricky Santana, Harlem Heat in action and Arn Anderson against THE STINGER

Slater pulls back on the submission hold causing Johnny B Badd to scream out in pain, the referee gets into position to ask Badd about giving up as Slater reaches out to the ropes for extra leverage causing both Badd to scream out in pain and the fans at ringside to shout at the referee, the referee moves around to look but Slater has already moved his arm away, once again Slater holds onto the rope behind him once the referee is cannot see his cheating but Badd still won't give it up, the referee moves around his time and catches Slater with his arm on the ropes, the referee kicks Slater's arm away allowing Badd to Hiptoss Slater over to the mat.

Tony Schiavone: And Badd with an opportunity now to get back into this match

Badd Dropkicks a rising Slater back down to the mat to the cheers of the crowd, both men get back to their feet at the same time and Badd stuns Slater with some big right hand jabs to the jaw. Colonel Parker jumps up on the apron to complain and gets caught by Badd, Badd looks to hit Parker but swings and misses as Parker moves out of the way, Parker grabs ahold of Badd and holds him for Slater to hit. Slater runs in to squash Badd, BUT BADD MOVES OUT OF THE WAY, Parker flies off to the floor below and Slater stumbles around the ring, Johnny B Badd climbs to the top rope and comes off of it with a Flying Crossbody Block, cover, 1.... 2.... 3! Johnny B Badd retains!

Winner [And still Television Champion]: Johnny B Badd (65%/66%/63%)

Ready To Feel The Bang?!?

As Johnny B Badd leaves the ring with the Television Title held high, on our screens at home and the main screen in the arena Diamond Dallas Page and Kimberly are shown sitting down laughing, DDP gives Johnny B Badd a thumbs down while Kimberly holds up a sign with a zero on it. They point and laugh at Johnny B Badd once again before the screen fades away.

Tony Schiavone: Diamond Dallas and Kimberly there showing just how they feel about the reigning Television Champion there Brain

Bobby Heenan: And rightfully so, that cheater Badd doesn't deserve a title

Tony Schiavone: Cheater? Brain, Badd did not cheat throughout the course of that match up

Bobby Heenan: What about putting his hands on Colonel Parker? That's cheating

Tony Schiavone: Parker got everything he deserved Brain

Bobby Heenan: Just like you Schiavone, no respect for managers

Tony Schiavone: Nobody has any respect for weasals, Brain... The matches just keep on coming fans because up next 'The Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit is in action against Ricky Santana and still to come Harlem Heat, Arn Anderson and Sting! Fans we'll be right back

**COMMERCIAL**

Tony Schiavone: Welcome back fans, up next we have an amazing match on the cards, 'The Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit takes on Ricky Santana

Bobby Heenan: Yeah, this should be a great match. Chris Benoit is a mean son of a gun and can wrestle with the best the world has to offer and Ricky Santana always looks to finish his matches early... In case border control find out he's here

Chris Benoit Vs. Ricky Santana

We join the action with Ricky Santana already in the ring, his name and wrestling details flash up on the screen as the referee checks him over for international objects, the lights dim and Chris Benoit's music hits to a small ovation. Benoit walks to the ring with a determined look on his face, he ignores the fans trying to reach out to him and climbs into the ring.

Tony Schiavone: Benoit looking focussed here tonight

Bobby Heenan: He's focussed all the time Schiavone

The opening bell rings and the two men circle each other quickly, they tentitively lock up with their right hands and then their lefts, they battle over leverage, Benoit is forced down to the mat by Santana but Benoit manages to bridge to keep his shoulders off of the mat, Benoit powers up from the bridge and forces Santana down towards the mat, just as Santana looks to bridge Benoit kicks at Santana's left leg, sweeping it out from underneath him causing Santana to fall to the mat, Benoit drops down with a knee into the ribcage and goes for a quick cover, 1... Benoit sits on Santana's back, pulling back on the arms but Santana refuses to give up, Santana rolls from side to side and manages to dislodge Benoit briefly, which is all the time Santana needs to force his way to his knees, Santana fights to his feet but still has his arms wrapped around his neck, in a great show of strength Santana lifts Benoit into the air and plants him with a Back Suplex to break the hold.

Tony Schiavone: These two men are putting on a wrestling clinic here in the early going

Eric Bischoff: You said it Tony, this is wrestling and its the best live wrestling in the world today

Both men get back to their feet and tie up once more, Benoit whips Santana into the corner and follows in with a hard Clothesline, he grabs Santana and whips him across the ring again to the far corner, Santana stumbles out and Benoit Snap Suplexes him down to the mat, cover, 1... 2... Tony Schiavone: Benoit is a methodical fighter, he picks a body part and goes after it

Bobby Heenan: He's like a pitbull, he'll grab a hold of something and he won't let go, no matter how hard you smack him

Santana rolls back into the ring and the two men lock up once more, Santana takes over with a quick shot to the gut and a Swinging Neckbreaker, cover, 1... Tony Schiavone: We've had numerous nearfalls in the last few minutes, these two men are really putting it all on the line here with neither man really having an advantage

Bobby Heenan: Oh, I'd say Benoit has the advantage, Santana seems to have a bad wing, he's still shaking that arm every time he's not under attack

Both men get back to their feet and its Santana that reacts the quickest and sends Benoit to the corner with an Irish Whip, Santana follows in and mounts Benoit to deliver punches to the head, Santana manages to get to five before having to stop to shake out his injured right arm, that's all the opportunity Benoit needs and he picks up Santana and Stunguns him onto the top turnbuckle. Benoit gets up and signals the end with his cut throat sign, Benoit climbs to the top rope and delivers a DIVING HEADBUTT right into the shoulder! Benoit makes the cover, 1... 2.. SANTANA GETS HIS FOOT ON THE ROPE.

Tony Schiavone: So close there to having a winner, I'm surprised a ring technican like Benoit didn't notice Santana was next to the ropes Brain

Bobby Heenan: He had just come off of the top rope and driven his head into Santana's shoulder, that sort of thing will disorientate any wrestler

Benoit is mad with himself as his gets up, he goes to pick up Santana, Inside Cradle, 1... 2.. Kickout from Benoit, both men get back to their feet, Santana takes Benoit down with a Dropkick, but Benoit is quickly back to his feet, Santana looks for a Bodyslam but Benoit slides off of the back and scores with a German Suplex, 1... 2.... Winner: Chris Benoit (68%/55%/81%)

Tony Schiavone: Benoit wins it, Santana submitted in the middle of the ring, Brain, Eric, that was a great match up

Bobby Heenan: It sure was Schiavone, Benoit came into this match focused and ready and came out with the victory, the Canadian Crippler can add another name to his victims list

Eric Bischoff: Only on Monday Nitro will you see wrestling of that calibre, it really doesn't get much better than that

Tony Schiavone: Indeed, fans we have to take a commercial break but up next the match for the WCW World Tag Team Championship, do not go away

**COMMERCIAL BREAK**

Tony Schiavone: Welcome back fans, we're going to get straight into it here as Harlem Heat prepare to defend their titles in what should be an interesting match up, lets take it to ringside

They make their way to the ring amidst the taunts of the Ohio crowd.

Tony Schiavone: Not a lot of love shown for the Tag Team Champions here

Bobby Heenan: They don't need love, they have the gold that's all the comfort and adulation they need

Eric Bischoff: People often wonder why Harlem Heat are so cocky and while I agree with them a lot of the time I agree with why they should be so cocky... They are the Tag Team Champions in the biggest federation in the world today, that means that they are the best team worldwide, that itself gives them the right to be cocky

Harlem Heat start the match off quickly, jumping their opponents from behind before the bell even rings. Stevie Ray knocks Steve Armstrong out of the ring while Booker T whips Windham into the corner, Booker T follows in with a Body Splash which is followed up by Stevie Ray Charging in and squashing Windham as well. Tony Schiavone: They certainly appear to have the advantage in the early stages Brain

Booker T with the pick up once again, he whips Windham into the Heat corner and begins to work him over with some big rights and lefts, Stevie Ray tags in and takes over the attack with a few more punches before hitting a Suplex out of the corner on Windham. Stevie Ray gets to his feet only for the crowd to start berating him, he walks over to the ropes and begins to mouth off to a few fans in the front row, as he turns around Kendall Windham manages to make the tag to Steve Armstrong.

Tony Schiavone: A mistake their Brain, Stevie Ray took his eye off of the ball there and allowed Kendall Windham to make the tag

Stevie Ray looks to lock up with Armstrong but is taken down by an Armdrag, both men get back to their feet and Armstrong once again takes Stevie Ray down with an Armdrag, Stevie Ray slams his fists against the mat and gets up, he charges at Steve Armstrong who Drop Toe Holds him down to the mat and drops a quick Elbow to the back of the Champions head. The referee comes over and warns Booker T as Steve Armstrong and Stevie Ray both get back to their feet at the same time, Armstrong swings and misses with a right hand which allows Stevie Ray to score with a Backbreaker. Stevie Ray tags out and brings in Booker T who immediately goes to the second rope and comes off of the ropes with a Knee Drop to the head of Armstrong, cover, 1... 2... Kickout from Armstrong.

Tony Schiavone: One second away from retaining the World Titles there

Booker T picks up Armstrong and sends him for the ride, Booker looks for the Leaping Side Kick but Armstrong manages to duck out of the way of it, Booker lands and is caught by a kick to the gut from Armstrong and a Swinging Neckbreaker, Armstrong brings in Kendall Windham who comes off of the top rope with a Splash, Windham makes the cover, 1.... 2... Booker T just kicks out in time. Windham picks up Booker T and hits a nice looking delayed Suplex that has one half of the Tag Team Champions in the air for a good ten seconds, Windham covers again, 1.... 2.. Stevie Ray comes in and makes the save. Stevie Ray stays in the ring and begins to argue with the referee, this brings in Steve Armstrong who Clotheslines Stevie Ray down to the mat to large cheers.

Bobby Heenan: This one is getting out of control Schiavone!

Stevie Ray and Steve Armstrong begin to wail away on each other with rights and lefts as the referee tries to break them up, Windham picks up Booker T and plants him with a Standing Neckbreaker before heading up to the top rope, Stevie Ray takes the advantage in his brawl with Armstrong via a Low Blow and then pushes the doubled over Armstrong into the ropes, knocking Windham from the top rope to the mat in the process. Booker T spins up onto his feet and comes off of the ropes as Windham is struggling to get to his feet, Booker T hits the Axe Kick on Windham, he makes the cover, 1.... 2.... 3! Harlem Heat retain!

Eric Bischoff: Every main event here on Monday Nitro is big Tony, that's why WCW is number one, but tonight could be the biggest of them all

Bobby Heenan: And where better for Sting to be thrown out with the rubbish than right here in Ohio

Tony Schiavone: Brain, who says Sting is going to be the one beaten here tonight? Arn Anderson doesn't have Ric Flair or Brian Pillman with him tonight

Bobby Heenan: Who says Double A needs them? Didn't you hear him earlier, you can only be a Horseman if you're the best

Eric Bischoff: Well we're about to find out, because here comes Sting

We cut to the ringside to see Sting making his way out into the arena, throughout the crowd fans are up on their feet cheering Sting as he makes his way down the aisle, slapping the hands of his fans as he goes. Sting climbs into the ring and lets out a loud 'woooooo' to the fans, who respond in kind, Sting with his face painted in his familiar style smiles towards the camera and turns to face the entrance way as The Horsemen's music kicks in.

Tony Schiavone: What is going on?

Ric Flair and Brian Pillman walk out into the arena and flash for The Horsemen sign towards the camera, Sting walks up to the ropes facing the entrance way and can be heard shout 'Where's Anderson?', Flair and Pillman reach the ring just as Arn Anderson jumps over the crowd barrier and slides into the ring, he attacks Sting from behind, knocking him through the ropes to the outside. Flair and Pillman quickly begin to put the boots to Sting as he lays on the outside, referees and road agents come down to ringside and pull Flair and Pillman away and block their route to the ring forcing them to go backstage, as Flair and Pillman walk back they flash the Horsemen sign in Eric Bischoff's direction with cocky smiles on their faces. Arn Anderson picks up Sting and rolls him in the ring as the bell rings for the beginning of the match.

Bobby Heenan: I love it, The Horsemen have out done everyone. Sting is already a beaten man and Flair and Pillman got their kicks in on him and their is nothing you can do about it Bischoff

Eric Bischoff: What? I said...

Bobby Heenan: You said if they interfered during the match you'd suspend them, you never said anything about before the match

Tony Schiavone: Be that as it may, the match is underway with Arn Anderson firmly in the driver's seat thanks to the Horsemen

Arn Anderson picks up Sting and whips him into the ropes, SPINEBUSTER from Arn, he makes the cover, 1.... 2... Sting kicks out to a big cheer from the crowd. Anderson stomps away on Sting and then picks him up, Anderson pushes Sting back into the corner and then unloads with a chop that echoes around the arena, Anderson whips Sting hard across the ring, Sting goes sternum first into the turnbuckle and then crashes to the mat. Anderson stomps on Sting twice before climbing out of the ring and grabbing Sting's right leg, he slams the back of the knee into the apron and then swings the leg into the ringpost, Sting cries out in pain as Anderson grabs his other leg, Arn pulls on both of Sting's legs sending The Stinger crotch first into the ringpost.

Bobby Heenan: Anderson is a monster, right here Tony, you are seeing why he is known as 'The Enforcer'

Anderson pulls Sting out of the ring to the floor, he stomps on Sting's right knee before picking him up and driving The Stinger back first into the apron, Anderson then hits a hard Forearm across the chest before once again driving Sting into the edge of the ring. Sting slumps to the floor as Anderson flashes the Horsemen sign to some fans at ringside, Arn kicks Sting in the head before picking him up and rolling him into the ring, Anderson follows Sting in and makes a cover, 1.... 2... Kickout from Sting. Anderson picks up Sting and nails him with a standard Suplex, Sting clutches his back in agony as Anderson makes another cover, 1... 2... Kickout from Sting again.

Tony Schiavone: Fans I've just been informed that we have to take our final commercial break of the evening, do not go anywhere, we will be right back

**COMMERCIAL**

Tony Schiavone: Welcome back fans, during the break Arn Anderson continued the offence of Sting concentrating fully on the back, first hitting a Backbreaker and then applying a modified Bow and Arrow submission hold, Sting however managed to just make the ropes, lets head back to ringside

Sting is pulling himself up on the ropes as Anderson stalks around the ring waiting to attack his opponent, Sting gets to his feet only for Anderson to Axehandle him in the back, Anderson turns Sting around and pushes him into the corner, Arn works over Sting with some big right hands before being stopped by the referee for using his fists. Arn pulls Sting out of the corner and Suplexes him down to the mat once again, Arn makes the cover, 1... 2.. Kickout from Sting. Arn with the pick up and the Irish Whip, Anderson looks for a Clothesline, Sting ducks and then comes off of the far side with a Flying Clothesline! The crowd cheer as both men lay on the mat, Anderson despite being hit with the move is the first man to stir, they both however get to their feet at the same time, Anderson chops Sting hard across the chest BUT IT HAS NO EFFECT! Sting stands their shaking his head as the Ohio crowd raise the noise level, Anderson tries another chop, once again it has no effect, Anderson goes for a big right, Sting blocks and then fires back with right hands of his own to the cheers of the crowd

Tony Schiavone: Sting is back in this match Brain

Bobby Heenan: Come on Double A, hit him like you mean it

Sting sends Anderson for the ride, Anderson gets picked up with ease above Sting's head, Stong walks around the ring with Arn held high in the air to the cheers of the fans, Sting slams Arn down hard to the mat to huge cheers as Anderson holds his back in pain. Anderson gets up and is quickly Hiptossed down to the mat, Arn gets up once again but this time is caught with a huge Dropkick from the Stinger, he makes the cover, 1... 2.. Kickout from Arn. Sting with the pick up and the whip into the corner, Arn hits hard and stumbles out straight into a Running Clothesline from Sting, Sting makes another cover, 1... 2... Kickout once again. Sting 'Woooo's out to the fans who respond in kind, he goes to pick Arn up but Arn hits him in the ribs, Anderson looks to throw Sting over the top rope but Sting holds onto the top rope and lands on the apron, Anderson charges at Sting but Sting catches him with a right hand as Anderson runs in, Sting Sunset Flips into the ring, cover, 1... 2.. Kickout from Anderson.

Tony Schiavone: Sting was so close to winning the match there Brain

Bobby Heenan: Come on Arn, remember you're a Horsemen, get the job done!

Sting picks up Arn and delivers a quick Suplex, he looks for the Scorpion Deathlock to the cheers of the crowd but Arn manages to fight him off and push Sting into the turnbuckle, Arn quickly gets up and hits Sting in the back with a quick Forearm before ramming his head into the top turnbuckle, Arn turns Sting around and chops him across the chest, once again it has no effect on Sting who grabs Arn around the neck and throws him into the corner. Sting climbs the ropes and begins to punch away on Arn's head with the crowd counting alongside, Sting stops at nine punches and 'wooooo's to the crowd before hitting the big tenth punch, Sting drops down and grabs Arn before he falls to the mat, Sting whips Arn across the ring and follows in with the STINGER SPLASH, Arn falls forward onto the mat and Sting signals to the crowd... He applies the SCORPION DEATHLOCK in the middle of the ring to huge cheers

Tony Schiavone: Scorpion Deathlock in the middle of the ring, Arn Anderson ahs no way to go, he is going to have to submit here Brain

Bobby Heenan: Fight it Arn, fight it!

Anderson cries out in pain as Sting pulls back harder on the move, the crowd cheer in anticipation of Anderson tapping... Suddenly a blonde haired man jumps over the crowd barrier and slides into the ring, he kicks Sting straight in the ribs forcing him to break the hold, the referee turns around and calls for a disqualification before the blonde haired man grabs the referee by the neck and throws him over the top rope

Tony Schiavone: Wait a minute, is that...

Bobby Heenan: It's CURT HENNIG!

Hennig picks up Sting and hits him hard across the face before delivering a HENNIG-PLEX in the middle of the ring, Arn Anderson gets to his feet and slaps Hennig on the back with a big smile on his face. Anderson picks up Sting and whips him to the ropes, SPINEBUSTER! Hennig and Anderson stand over the fallen Sting with broad smiles on their faces, they flash the Horsemen hand sign to the camera as Ric Flair and Brian Pillman slide into the ring, all four men put the boots to the fallen Sting

Tony Schiavone: I don't believe it fans, Curt Hennig is here in WCW and it would appear that he had aligned himself with The Horsemen

Eric Bischoff: This can't be happening

Bobby Heenan: Do you believe now Schiavone? Do you see what everyone is up against? Look in the ring and see the top four athletes in the business today, The Four Horsemen! Do you believe now? Do you?

Winner: Sting by Disqualification (83%/90%/70%)

Where is 'The Hulkster'?

user posted image

According to numerous sources inside World Championship Wrestling it would appear that the relationship between Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan has soured.  Hulk Hogan who was supposed to be at last night's Monday Nitro refused to turn up after hearing the plans for his current feud with rookie monster, The Giant.  This is particularly interesting seeing as it was Hogan himself who pushed World Championship Wrestling into signing The Giant and putting him straight into a feud with 'The Hulkster'.  At this time it is unknown whether or not Hogan will return to WCW in the near future and what sort of reception he will get when he returns, what is known however is that the role that was scheduled for The Giant was given to Lex Luger two hours before the show hit the air, whether this means Luger will receive The Giant's push going into World War Three however is unknown at this time.  Also unknown is what will happen with The Giant from now on, as without Hogan to feud with he is left swinging in the wind in the middle of a main event feud.

The Fourth Horsemen Revealed

user posted image

Last night on Monday Nitro, Curt Hennig debuted and aligned himself with the recently reformed Horsemen by becoming The Fourth Horsemen.  This now means that the group consists of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Brian Pillman and Curt Hennig, a group of men that could easily rival the original four.  At this time it is unknown what exact role Hennig will play in the company and in the Horsemen as how ready to wrestle Hennig is, is something that is unknown following his retirement from wrestling due to injury a little over a year ago.  Whether Hennig is back for full time action or will be taking on a more JJ Dillion style role in the group is something that will be seen over the upcoming weeks, it is believed however that Hennig will be kept out of the ring for the next month or so on television tapings and given matches on House Shows to see how he holds up.

For the record it's Bull Nakano, not Nanako.

Noted and changed.

Thanks for the replies, the Benoit/Santana match should be added somewhere down the line.

WCW Saturday Night

CSU Convocation Center, Ohio

Scott Hudson and Larry Zybszko

New boy Scott Hudson and ‘Living Legend’ Larry Zybszko welcome us to another episode of WCW Saturday Night, I dunno we go from having Tony Schiavone to Scott Hudson and ‘The Dream’ Dusty Rhodes to Zybszko, its one step forward to take two steps back, if you catch my drift.  Hudson goes into hyperbole mode giving us the rundown of the show, Big Bubba Rogers, Studs Stable, Paul Orndorff and The Giant will all be wrestling tonight as well as United States Champion Kensuke Sasaki defending his title against 2 Cold Scorpio.

Big Bubba Rogers Vs. Craig Pittman

Big Bubba kicks the night off, so the show is really flying right out the gate.  Rogers is of course former WWF mainstay The Big Bossman, which WCW have tried to play on but the crowd and the WWF’s lawyers kinda kicked that idea to the kerb.  Rogers starts off with some punches that send Pittman into the corner, Rogers follows in and continues the attack with more punches and just for variety’s sake, a kick.  Rogers whips Pittman hard across the ring and then follows in with a Splash, Pittman stumbles out of the corner into an Uppercut, Rogers makes the cover but it only gets two.  They should really tool someone up as the next ‘Hands of Stone’, didn’t hold Garvin back.  Bossma… Er Rogers continues the offence with a Powerslam and then a Neckbreaker, that sequence gets another two count for the man from Cobb County.  Rogers rakes the eyes and then chokes Pittman on the top rope to try and get some heat out of the crowd, I’m surprised he’s not out there slapping a granny around as well… Although this crowd seem like the sort that wouldn’t react to anything.  Rogers whips Pittman across the ring but makes the mistake of putting his head down too early, Pittman scores with a kick to the chest and follows up with a Clothesline, Rogers is down for about two seconds before popping back up to his feet, Pittman puts him down with a Scoop Slam and manages to just about get a two count.  Pittman whips Rogers to the ropes but Rogers reverses it sending Pittman to the ropes and Rogers hits a big time Big Bubba Slam for the three count.

Winner: Big Bubba Rogers (51%/51%/52%)

Scott and Larry spend about as much time as needed in covering that match, you’ve got to wonder what is worse, winning a match and nobody giving a damn or losing a match to the guy that no one gives a damn about.  Speaking of guys that no one gives a damn about Scott reminds us that Kensuke Sasaki will be defending the United States Championship in the main event tonight, Larry hopes to see Scorpio walk away with the title tonight; I love shoot comments that aren’t shoot comments.

Studs Stable Vs. Chris Kanyon and Mark Starr

Chris Kanyon is called Kid Kanyon throughout commentary here by Larry, which means he’s either going crazy or Kanyon’s name hasn’t been changed on the graphic.  Studs Stable are Bunkhouse Buck and Blacktop Bully, Bully is probably better known as Smash from Demolition and perennial WWF jobber Barry Darsow.  Bully and Starr start off and Starr is quickly taken down with a knee to the stomach and a clubbing Forearm to the back, Bully picks up Starr and whips him into the ropes, a Shoulderblock easily takes Starr down and is followed up with a stomp on the hand… Because you see he is a bully.  Buck tags in and takes over, whip to the corner that leads to nothing spectacular, Buck just pounds away with rights, apparently its stuff like this that’ll lead them to the titles, lets hope not Larry.  Buck scores with a Delayed Suplex but it only gets a two count, Bully is brought back in and he comes off of the top rope with a Double Axehandle to the shoulder of a held down Mark Starr.  Bully goes to work on the shoulder, with an Armwringer that eventually turns into a standing Armbar, Starr manages to fight his way out with a few Elbows to the stomach and manages to knock Bully down with Clothesline with his bad arm.  Starr tags in Kanyon while cradling his injured arm, Kanyon knocks down Bully as he gets to his feet with a Dropkick and then Drop Toe Holds Buck to the mat as he comes into the ring, Kanyon hits a Swinging Neckbreaker on Bully and makes a cover, Buck however is having none of it and breaks up the pin at two.  Bully takes Kanyon down with a Powerslam and then allows Kanyon to tag Starr back into the ring, Starr charges in but is taken down with a Hiptoss, Bully tags Buck who comes in off of the second rope with a big fat Splash on poor Mark Starr, Bully runs over and knocks Kanyon from the apron as Buck makes the cover for the three count.

Winners: Studs Stable (56%/48%/64%)

And then there were four

We recap Curt Hennig joining The Four Horsemen on Monday Nitro by coming out through the crowd and attacking Sting while he had Arn Anderson hooked in the Scorpion Deathlock.  Anderson and Hennig are shown beating down The Stinger, with Anderson hitting the Spinebuster and Hennig hitting the Hennig Plex, and are then shown shaking hands and flashing the Horsemen handsign at the camera.

Rating: 100%

Paul Orndorff Vs. Mr. JL

To say the crowd is dead at this point would be an understatement, Orndorff is getting no heat as a heel and the crowd couldn’t care less about this Power Ranger rip-off jobber.  One thing I can never get over with Orndorff is the way his left arm is now so much smaller than his right, I hope the money on top with Hogan was worth it Paul because if anything is going to hold back his final run in WCW its going to be that arm.  Orndorff and JL start off with a quick Hammerlock sequence, which eventually sees Orndorff trip JL over only for JL to bridge up and roll out of the Hammerlock, causing Orndorff to release the hold.  They go for a Test Of Strength and Orndorff easily overpowers JL to the mat, JL once again bridges up but Orndorff pokes him in the eye before he can continue to use his advantage.  Orndorff scores easily with a Side Suplex but only gets a two count, a Sidewinder Suplex followed up by a Driving Elbow drops also only results in a two count for Orndorff as Mr. JL tries to get the crowd to rally behind him, the crowd remain firmly on their hands.  Mr. JL reverses an Irish Whip attempt into the corner and then follows in and goes up to the second rope to deliver some punches to the head of Orndorff, JL reaches five punches and then drops down and delivers a Tornado DDT which actually brings the crowd to life, Orndorff kicks out at two however.  Orndorff is whipped into the ropes and hit with a Dropkick from JL that sends Orndorff bouncing across the ring, he uses the ropes to pull himself up and walks into another Dropkick, Orndorff again picks himself up and this time swats away JL’s attempted Dropkick, Orndorff picks up JL and plants him with a Piledriver in the middle of the ring, its academic from here.

Winner: Paul Orndorff (52%/27%/77%)

It'll soon be SHOWTIME for the Horsemen

We cut to a pre-taped interview with Sting

Sting: Woooooooo, Horsemen, Flair, Anderson, Pillman, Hennig.  Congratulations, you did it again, you managed to kick me down when you had the numbers in your favour.  For a group that claims to be the elite, you guys don't seem to wrestle well alone.  But no matter because Sting won't just lie down and go away, I've taken The Horsemen on before and it looks like I'm going to have to do it again, Arn you said you could beat me alone, looks like you couldn't, you needed the new guy to come in and help you out and all that shows to me is that you're scared of The Stinger, you knew you couldn't beat me so you got back up.  But even with that back up you'll never be able to keep The Stinger down for long, so whether its on Monday Nitro, Saturday Night, Worldwide or any show that any of you guys are on, you better watch your backs because its going to be showtime for the Horsemen and you'll find out what its like to be stung by The Stinger!

Too Cold Scorpio Vs. Kensuke Sasaki © - United States Championship Match

Championship on the line here, Larry is hopefully Scorpio can pull out the win here and take the belt, easy there Larry people will begin to think you don't like this guy... Oh.  Anyway, crazy reversal spots to start the match of, as Scorp uses his quickness and agility to reverse everything Sasaki tries, this also sees Too Cold cartwheeling out of holds and kipping up a lot, which the crowd seem to enjoy.  Scorp takes control of the match with a big time Back Suplex and follows it up with a top rope Splash that only gets two.  Sasaki decides to stop messing around and almost kills Scorpio dead with a Back Suplex of his own, he follows that up with a German Suplex and then a big Clothesline gets him two.  Scorp scores with a surprise Dropkick and retakes control, Hiptosses and Armdrags galore as Scorp ups the tempo, a Springboard Dropkick only gets Scorp two as does a Tornado DDT.  Scorp misses an attempted 450 and lands hard on the mat, Sasaki takes over again, this time concentrating on the neck, Sasaki runs through numerous submission moves, Camel Clutch, Leg Scissors around the neck, driving knee into the back of the neck before topping it all off with a Swinging Neckbreaker, Scorp manages to get his foot on the rope though to break the count.  Scorp fights back, scoring with a Leg Lariat and a Russian Legsweep before heading up top again, he looks for another 450 but Sasaki again has it scouted, Sasaki picks up Scorp and plants him with the Northern Lights Bomb, Sasaki makes the cover, Scorp puts his foot on the rope but Nakano pushes it off of the rope before the referee sees it and Sasaki gets the tainted win.  Great match given the time they had to work with, Sasaki retains and leaves a dejected Scorpio pleading his case to the referee in the ring.

WCW To Introduce Junior Heavyweight Championship?

user posted image

Rumours coming out from Atlanta seem to indicate that World Championship Wrestling are planning to introduce a new championship belt before the end of the year.  According to our sources, many officials inside WCW are happy with how recent matches between their junior heavyweight wrestlers have been received and how good the style of wrestling looks on television.  Because of this they intend to strike while the iron is hot and hold a tournament with talent from throughout the world participating and crowning a the first ever WCW Junior Heavyweight Champion before the year is out, more than likely at Starrcade.  While it is unknown which international stars will be involved if such a tourament were to happen is unknown at the moment, it would not be surprising to see stars from Mexico and Japan taking part.

Monday Nitro Preview - And Then There Were Four

user posted image

After a brief excursion to the north of the country, Monday Nitro returns home to Atlanta for what should be two hours of the best wrestling shown anywhere in the world.  Last week saw the shocking debut of Curt Hennig who apparently has become the fourth member of the reformed Four Horsemen.  All of The Horsemen are expected to be in the arena, so will we find out for sure what Hennig's role is? And how will WCW President Eric Bischoff react to having his orders broken?

One member of The Horsemen who will definetly be at Monday Nitro is Brian Pillman as he is scheduled to take on Dustin Rhodes in our main event.  Neither of these two men back down from a challenge and there is certainly no love lost between Pillman and Dustin, nevermind The Horsemen and the Rhodes family! A lot more than the result is at stake in the main event of Monday Nitro, will the Four Horsemen establish themselves as the elite or will Dustin become the second generation of Rhodes to successfully fight against The Horsemen?

WCW World Tag Team Champions Harlem Heat successfully defended their Tag Team Titles last week and this week they look for more of the same as they take on the team that they won the titles from in September, The American Males.  Will Bagwell and Riggs be able to overcome the tandem of Booker T and Stevie Ray or will the New York natives continue their winning streak and continue to show the world why they believe they are the best team in the world?

According to the latest WCW rankings, the top three contenders for the WCW United States Championship are Chris Benoit, Paul Orndorff and 2 Cold Scorpio.  These three men, along with reigning WCW United States Champion Kensuke Sasaki will collide in tag team action as Scorpio and Benoit team to take on Sasaki and Orndorff.  How will these four men get along with each other, when all of them seem set on the gold around Sasaki's waist? And how will the outcome of this match effect the standings for who gets a shot at Sasaki first?

Lex Luger has only one thing on his mind, to destroy all of those that stand in his way and claim the vacant WCW World Heavyweight Championship at World War Three.  Last week he brutally attacked 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, Ice Train and Jeff Farmer, this week he is scheduled to take on Jim Duggan.  Will Duggan be able to extinguish the rage that is inside Luger or will Luger leave another man beaten on his march towards World War Three?

Johnny B Badd will be in action defending his WCW Television Title against up and coming wrestling Chris Kanyon.  Will Kanyon manage to upset the Champion, or will Badd pick up the victory and retain the title?

A man who has taken a huge disliking to Badd over the past few weeks is the cocky and confident Diamond Dallas Page, DDP and his manager Kimberly have been spotted at recent House Shows laughing at everything Badd does and even laughed at him following Badd's victory on Nitro last week.  This week Page is also in action as he takes on Mr. JL, will the confident Page be able to back up his antics in the ring and prove why he is laughing at Badd?

In what should be another exciting encounter on Nitro, 'The Man of a 1000 Holds' Dean Malenko will take on the one and only, Disco Inferno.  Both men have a lot to prove here in WCW and Monday Nitro is the place to do it, will Malenko be able to shoot down the dancing Disco? Or will Inferno burn up the ring and leave The Iceman melted?

All this and much much more will go down on Monday Nitro, the only way to find out what is to join us live at 8pm EST, we'll see you then

Eddie Guerrero Vs. Disco Inferno

We join the match in progress as Eddie Guerrero takes down Disco with a beautiful Flying Headscissors and follows that up with a Hurracanrana for a two count.  Disco reverses an Irish Whip and scores with a nice Spinning Powerslam, he drops an Elbow and then gets up and dances to the crowd to an anemic reaction... Everyone's a critic.  Disco goes to pick up Eddie, but gets cradled for two.  Both men back to their feet, Eddie ducks a Clothesline attempt and scores with an Inverted Atomic Drop and follows that up with a Springboard Crossbody Block off of the middle rope for another two count.  Eddie scores with a Vertical Suplex and heads up top, he looks for the Frog Splash but Disco rolls out of the way.  Disco plants Eddie with a swank Swinging Neckbreaker and then applies a Surfboard, never managing to make it into a Mexican Surfboard as Eddie manages to grab the rope.  Disco overpowers Eddie and scores with a Pumphandle Slam, Diving Elbow from the middle rope only gets two.  Irish Whip into a Swinging Sidewalk Slam for Disco gets another two, Disco tries again but Eddie reverses into another Flying Headscissors to take Disco down and follows up by Dropkicking Disco through the ropes to the floor.  Eddie takes out Disco with a Suicide Dive through the ropes just as Disco is getting to his feet, Eddie manages to roll in at 8 to break the count and then drags Disco in as well.  Eddie looks for a DDT but Disco reverses into a Northern Lights Suplex with a bridge for two, Disco looks for a Tombstone but Eddie reverses it into one of his own, Eddie heads up top and this time hits the Frog Splash for the three.  The crowd were getting into by the end.

Winner: Eddie Guerrero (60%/40%/80%)

Destruction Crew vs. The Patriots

First appearance for the Destruction Crew here in WCW, about time they got some new tag teams around seeing as Harlem Heat have no one to challenge them currently.  The Crew will probably not be lighting the world on fire though, seeing how they are debuting on Worldwide and all, anyway the Destruction Crew are Mike Enos and Wayne Bloom, who some of you may also remember as The Beverly Brothers from the WWF.  Beverly's control from the outset, Schiavone and Hudson put them over as a veteran team who have teamed together throughout America.  Enos works the early portion of the match against Firebreaker Chip putting him through the ringer with numerous Vertical Suplexes and Backbody Drops, Bloom adds to the gen(er)icide with a few Powerslams and Russian Legsweeps.  Chip tags in Todd Champion who immediately gets hit with one of the Crew's big moves, the drapping the opponent over the ropes while the other tag team partner leapfrogs over his partners back and lands on the opponent's spine move... Yeah that really needs a new name.  Anyway, Bloom and Enos work over Champion until Bloom ends it all with a Sit-Down Powerbomb for the three count, nothing overly offence here and the Crew seem to be off and rolling.

Winner: Destruction Crew (62%/49%/75%)

Get ready to feel THE BANG~!

We cut to a pre-taped interview with Diamond Dallas Page with Kimberly floating around in the background.

Diamond Dallas Page: Haha... Johnny B Badd, you know for too long I've had to sit back with Kim and watch you carry that TV Title around like you mean something to this company, well no longer Badd because you are a joke of a champion! You're not as slick, as talented or as cool as DDP and you never will be.  So Badd get ready because sooner rather than later you'll have to measure up against DDP... And you'll just be found wanting. Get ready to feel THE BANG~! Johnny, get ready to feel the bang!

Rating: 63%

Diamond Dallas Page Vs. Frank Andersson

We cut from pre-tape DDP to live DDP, kinda.  Anyway, DDP takes on NOT A MEMBER OF THE ANDERSONS, Frank Andersson... I think he's Swedish or something.  Anyway, DDP isn't out here to waste time against the likes of Swedish jobbers so he takes control early with an Atomic Drop and a Back Suplex for two.  DDP goes for a kick to the gut only for it to get caught, DDP gets spun around but counters with a Clothesline.  Powerslam and Elbow Drop get two, Hiptoss and Armdrag get another two, Irish Whip and Clothesline attempt ducked by Andersson who walks into a huge Superkick from DDP, DDP poses and looks towards Kimberly who holds up a sign with the score 10/10 on it, DDP smiles and gives her a thumbs up, Andersson stumbles to his feet... Diamond Cutter, its all over.  Kimberly gets in the ring and places a card with a '0' on it on top of Andersson, DDP and Kimberly leave the ring laughing at the fans and kissing each other as they return to the locker room.

Winner: Diamond Dallas Page (55%/51%/59%)

OoOoOoOoOoOohhh yeah!!!

Pre-tape interview with Randy Savage

Randy Savage: Oooooooooooh yeah, The Macho Man is back, Lex you think jumpin’ me in the back and attackin’ me like a dog is gonna keep me down? No way brutha, you see The Macho Man ain’t like other men, you knock me down, I’ll get right back up! And the whole world is now asking what’s The Macho Man gonna do? You’ll just have to wait and see Lex, you’ll just have to wait and see!

Rating: 99%

Randy Savage Vs. Mike Pittman

Big reaction for Savage, no reaction for Pittman.  Anyone want to guess on who is going to win this one?  This is as simple as a Savage match gets really, Pittman dominates for five minutes with nothing but kicks, punches, Shoulderblocks, Clothesline and Squashes in the corner, the two men hit the outside and Pittman continues to beat Savage down until Pittman misses a charge and hits the steel post.  Savage gets up on the apron and comes off with a Double Axehandle, Savage gets back in the ring and poses, Pittman gets back in the ring on the count of 9, Savage suplexs him in from the apron and then scores with a Powerslam, Savage heads up top and nails the Elbow Drop for the win.

Winner: Randy Savage (57%/61%/50%)

According to numerous inside sources it would appear that Kevin Sullivan has been removed from the WCW booking team.  Sullivan a longtime influential member of the booking team was recently forced out of the any position of power by what is being seen as a powerplay by Eric Bischoff.  Bischoff who over recent weeks, as reported here, has been at odds with Sullivan over the direction of the company finally decided to fire Sullivan from his position on the team following Sullivan's apparent disregard of Bischoff's pet project, the Junior Heavyweight division.  Sullivan is expected to remain on the active roster, but at this time it is unknown whether or not WCW will renew his contract when it runs out in three months time.

Roster Shake-Up

Eric Bischoff, as reported a month ago, declared that WCW could no longer afford to be seen as the second of the largest wrestling federation in America and needed to focus on overtaking the WWF.  It would apper that part of this process is a re-analysis of the entire WCW roster with road agents being told to watch every single match of every wrestler and decide whether or not they are pulling their weight and deserve their spot on the roster.

The ramifications of this new strategy have already been felt by some in the company as WCW today announced that Evad Sullivan (William Danenhauer) had been released from his contract.  Scott Pukski and Ice Train have also been told to report to the PowerPlant for further training, they are not expected to be the last to be told that their services are either no longer needed or that WCW believe they need more training.

WCW to conduct a draft?

Turner Inc. recently trademarked the term 'WCW Nitro Draft' as a potential show name and trademarked the above image.  While it is unclear at the moment as to what it exactly entitles, sources from within the company believe that some of the higher-ups in the company are thinking of doing an NBA style draft where workers from the PowerPlant are chosen to join the full roster.  How exactly this will take place is not yet known, it could however make for interesting television.

The Nitro fireball explodes onto our screens as the TNT logo flashes up with the metallic letters spelling out 'Monday Nitro' above it, we pan into the sold out arena, the camera floating over the heads of the Atlanta crowd who cheer wildly as the opening theme of the show plays throughout the arena. The camera switches to a view of our two commentators for the evening, Tony Schiavone, sat on the right, wearing a black suit and tie with a white shirt and Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan on the right in a white shirt who nods to the camera as the show opens up.

Tony Schiavone: Welcome everyone to another edition of Monday Nitro, we are one week removed from the reformation of The Four Horsemen as last week Curt Hennig made his shocking debut during the end of Arn Anderson's match with Sting and joined the group in a sickening act of cowardice

Bobby Heenan: Cowardice? Schiavone last week you saw a master plan coming together, Curt Hennig joining the Horsemen and getting one up on Sting. Look at the collection of men that now make up the Horsemen, Arn Anderson, the single toughest man in this sport, Brian Pillman, the best up and coming wrestler in the industry, Curt Hennig, a man that has proved himself time and again worldwide and of course, Ric Flair, the thirteen times World Heavyweight Champion. I asked you last week if you believed in The Horsemen now, well do you Schiavone?

Tony Schiavone: I have to admit its hard not to Brain, as you just said the talent in that group alone is astounding. But tonight will be a real test as Brian Pillman of The Horsemen takes on 'The Natural' Dustin Rhodes in our main event and it won't be the first time that a member of the Rhodes family has gone up against The Horsemen

Bobby Heenan: No but it could be the last time, lets not forget The Horsemen have beaten down guys like Rhodes and Sting for years and tonight will be no different

Tony Schiavone: Well that remains to be seen Brain. Fans as we've already said tonight's scheduled main event is Dustin Rhodes against Brian Pillman in what should be a great match up between two young and hungry wrestlers who are very much the future of their respective groups, in The Horsemen and WCW

Bobby Heenan: But that's not all Schiavone, a man I'm beginning to like more and more every time I see him, Lex Luger is action tonight as he takes on Jim Duggan. Hopefully we'll get to see more of that mean streak of Luger's tonight as he makes a beeline towards the World Title Battle Royale at World War Three.

Tony Schiavone: We may perhaps see that Brain, speaking of titles, the WCW World Tag Team Champions, Harlem Heat are scheduled to be in action as they take on The American Males. Its been a while since Riggs and Bagwell have teamed together here in WCW, but as Harlem Heat continue to throw out challenges to everybody in WCW, teams are lining up to take the shots at trying to dethrone the supposedly 'unbeatable brothas from the hood' Stevie Ray and Booker T

Bobby Heenan: Diamond Dallas Page and the lovely Kimberly will be out here later on

Tony Schiavone: As will the reigning Television Champion, Johnny B Badd, who as of late hasn't exactly been in Page and Kimberly's good books. Plus in our semi main event, the United States Champion, Kensuke Sasaki will team with Paul Orndorff to take on Too Cold Scorpio and 'Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit in a battle between the top four men in the United States Title Division

Bobby Heenan: That should be a great match, I like that Benoit, he hurts people and he enjoys it

Tony Schiavone: But up first fans we have a great junior heavyweight match lined up as 'The Iceman' Dean Malenko takes on Disco Inferno, lets take it to ringside and get the best two hours of live wrestling action on a Monday night underway!

Dean Malenko Vs. Disco Inferno

We join the ring with Disco Inferno just climbing through the ropes to the boos and jeers of the Atlanta fans, Disco begins to dance in the middle of the ring drawing even more of a negative response from the crowd. Dean Malenko’s music kicks in and the ‘Iceman’ makes way down the aisle towards the ring, Malenko looks subdued but confident as he climbs into the ring, the referee checks Malenko over for international objects and then calls for the opening bell.

Bobby Heenan: You know in all of the excitement I’ve only just realised… Where’s Bischoff?

Tony Schiavone: Unfortunately Eric is out of Atlanta this week on some presidential matters, he told me that he is planning some big plans for World War Three and needs to take care of them tonight

Bobby Heenan: So it has nothing to do with the fact that he scared of The Four Horsemen?

Tony Schiavone: Brain… Ah, lets call the match

The two men circle each other twice before locking up, Malenko takes over with an Overhand Wristlock, he backs Disco into the corner and unloads with a pair of European Uppercuts before whipping Disco across the ring, Dean follows in with a running knee to the stomach that doubles Disco over. Malenko pounds on Disco’s back with some clubbing forearms before Suplexing him into the middle of the ring, Malenko floats over for a cover, 1… 2.. Kickout from Disco. Malenko picks up Disco and whips him to the ropes, Malenko follows two steps behind him and delivers another knee to the stomach, The Iceman drops three knees to the ribs before dropping down and applying a Leg Scissors Guillotine around the ribcage of Disco.

Tony Schiavone: Malenko really taking it to Disco Inferno in the early going

Bobby Heenan: Classic Malenko, he’s picking apart his opponent

Malenko releases the hold after half a minute of struggle from Disco and immediately stomps on the ribs of Disco, he picks up Disco and whips him hard into the corner, Disco goes sternum first into the turnbuckles and then stumbles out backwards, Malenko spins him around and delivers a Gutbuster, Malenko makes the cover, 1… 2… Kickout from Disco. Malenko picks up Disco and goes to whip into the ropes, Disco reverses it and catches Dean with a Clothesline as he comes off of the ropes, Disco picks up Dean and delivers a Back Suplex, cover, 1… 2.. Kickout.

Tony Schiavone: Big comeback move there by Disco

Disco picks up Dean while holding his ribs, Disco Snapmares Malenko over and then kicks him hard in the back, Disco applies a Rear Chinlock in the middle of the ring, Dean struggles to break out of the hold, he manages to get to his feet and then breaks the grip by elbowing Disco in the ribs, Dean runs to the ropes and Shoulderblocks Disco to the mat, Dean looks to drop an elbow but Disco rolls out of the way. Both men get back to their feet at the same time, Disco pokes Malenko in the eye and then takes him over with an Armdrag, pick up from Disco who follows up with Northern Lights Suplex but he can’t bridge for the pin because of the ribs. Disco climbs to the second turnbuckle and comes off with a Flying Elbow to the head of Malenko just as he gets to his feet, Disco makes the cover, 1… 2.. Kickout.

Tony Schiavone: A great back and forth match here fans, remember this match was announced first by our very own ‘Professor’ Mike Tenay on the WCW Hotline, call now for all the hot, hot news on 1-909-00-99-00. Kids remember to ask for your parent’s permission first

Bobby Heenan: Ah, quit being a goody-goody Schiavone

Disco picks up Malenko and whips him to the ropes, he scores with a Hiptoss and then drops a leg across Malenko’s throat, another cover, 1… 2.. Kickout from Malenko. Disco looks for a Suplex, but is cut off by a shot to the ribs from Malenko, Dean picks up Disco and then drops him ribs first over the top rope, Malenko delivers a hard forearm to the head of Disco who slumps into the ring. Malenko picks up Disco and Powerslams him to the mat, Dean climbs to the second rope and comes off with a Double Stomp to the ribs on Disco, he makes the cover, 1… 2… Kickout from Disco.

Bobby Heenan: That’ll hurt long into next week, I think he just stomped on his solar plexus

Tony Schiavone: What’s a solar plexus?

Bobby Heenan: I’m not actually sure, I think Gorilla’s have them

Malenko waits for Disco to get his feet and then knocks him down with a quick Clothesline, Disco is quickly back up and ducks Malenko’s second attempt at a knockdown, Malenko comes off of the ropes and gets Powerslammed by Disco who follows up by dropping an elbow, Disco climbs to the second rope and waits for Dean to get to his feet, Disco looks for the Flying Elbow once again, Dean sees it coming and counters by hitting Disco in the ribs, Malenko picks up the doubled over Disco and delivers a Snap Powerbomb, Dean holds onto the legs and puts Disco in an Elevated Texas Cloverleaf, pulling and stretching Disco’s ribcage… Disco submits

Winner: Dean Malenko (57%/38%/76%)

Tony Schiavone: Dean Malenko picks up a big victory here in the first match here on Monday Nitro. Another great exhibition of a junior heavyweight match right here live on Nitro

Bobby Heenan: Last week we saw highflyers, this week mat wrestlers, you’ve got to wonder what we’ll see next in this junior heavyweight division

Tony Schiavone: A great point Brain…

Bobby Heenan: … I’m thinking a masked Mexican…

Tony Schiavone: … Well you never know Brain

Bobby Heenan: Do you know why they all wear masks?

Tony Schiavone: No, Brain

Bobby Heenan: In case border control are watching. Wait a minute... That sounds like The Horsemen’s music

Tony Schiavone: You’re right Brain, I don’t know why they are coming out here now though, Johnny B Badd is supposed to be defending the Television Title… Fans, I’m being told that we need to take a quick commercial break, don’t go anywhere though as it would appear that The Horsemen will be out momentarily.

**COMMERCIAL**

Tony Schiavone: Welcome back fans, on a night where Brian Pillman of The Horsemen will take on Dustin Rhodes live here in Atlanta, we have been joined in the ring by all four, yes four, members of the Four Horsemen, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Brian Pillman and the newest member Curt Hennig

Bobby Heenan: Will you shut up Schiavone? I want to listen to The Horsemen!

We head to the ring to find all four members of The Horsemen stood in a semi-circle facing the base camera; they are all dressed in immaculate tuxedos with broad smiles on their faces, Arn flashes the Horsemen hand sign to the camera as Ric Flair breaks from the semi-circle with a microphone in his hand and begins to walk around the ring…

Ric Flair: ’Woooooooooo, ha ha, last week you all saw the final piece of the puzzle added to finish the reformation of the greatest group of professional wrestlers that have ever stepped foot in any wrestling ring, anywhere in the world, just look at the talent in this ring, we go north, woooooo, we beat ‘em there, we come down south, wooooo, we beat ‘em there, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, woooo, Japan, wherever you can name, we can go and woooo, we’ll come back and tell you that they were just not good enough to beat The Horsemen. But tonight we need to slow it down and introduce the newest member of The Four Horsemen, the man that can keep up with ‘Slic’ Ric, Big Arn and The Brian, the man that is used to the highlife, that can handle the FIFTY FOOT limousines filled from end to end with the best lookin’ ladies from every town we visit, the man that can, wooo, walk THAT aisle, style and profile like only a Horsemen can… We give you, ha ha, the ‘perfect’ Horsemen, ha ha… Curt Hennig

Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman begin to clap as Ric Flair hands Curt Hennig the microphone and then joins in with the applause, Hennig walks around the ring with a smirk on his face, he runs his free hand through his hair before beginning to speak

Curt Hennig: Ric… Guys… What can I say? I mean I know the fans and everyone else around the world will be wondering why exactly Curt Hennig was chosen to become the newest member of the Horsemen. Is it because of the looks? Is because of the body? Is it because he can keep it up all night, party throughout the night and wrestle all day long better than anyone else around? Yes… Yes it is, haha

Ric Flair and Curt Hennig high-five each other and then Hennig continues

Curt Hennig: Because you see its as Flair and Arn have been saying for years, the Horsemen are the elite in professional wrestling, we are everything that every wrestler strives to be… We are, heh, perfect

Brian Pillman slaps Hennig on the back and takes the microphone from him

Brian Pillman: And tonight we prove it again as I’m gonna take Dustin Rhodes out before he even thinks of trying to become something like his father, although to be fair if he wants to become the Horsemen’s personal whipping boy that’s his business. Tonight Rhodes you go down, Horsemen style, I said it last week about Sting and I’ll say it tonight about you, when its all said and done and the Horseman rid out of town you’ll be the only laying battered and bruised and laying in our wake!

The Horsemen’s music kicks in as Pillman drops the microphone to the floor, all four members flash the Horsemen hand sign to the camera before leaving the ring and making their way to the back.

Tony Schiavone: Strong words from The Horsemen there, Brain

Bobby Heenan: You should expect nothing else Schiavone, Flair, Arn, Pillman, Hennig, they aren’t the type of guys who mince their words

Tony Schiavone: Well tonight in our main event will we see if the Horsemen can back up their words with actions as Brian Pillman takes of Dustin Rhodes

Bobby Heenan: If they can back up their words? Did you not see Sting battered and bruised last week in the middle of that very ring?

Tony Schiavone: It took four men to do that Brain, is that we are to expect for the Horsemen tonight?

Bobby Heenan: Who knows, The Horsemen always have a plan, that’s the only thing I know

Tony Schiavone: Like I said, we’ll have to wait and see then Brain, but I’ll tell you what we don’t have to wait for, the WCW Television Title match which is up next, fans don’t go anywhere we’ll be right back

**COMMERCIAL**

Chris Kanyon Vs. Johnny B Badd © - WCW Television Title Match, 15 Minute Time Limit

We come back to see Johnny B Badd making his way down the aisle to the cheers of the fans, Badd has the WCW Television Title wrapped around is waist, which can just about be made out underneath his boxing-esque robe, Badd enters the ring and throws his arms up in the air to a few cheers from the ringside fans, he throws a few jabs out in the air and does a boxing shuffle before taking off his robe and handing the Television Title to the referee.

Tony Schiavone: Welcome back fans, as you’ve just seen Johnny B Badd, the Television Champion has just made his way to the ring, during the break his opponent Chris Kanyon made his way down to the ring. This should be an interesting contest Brain

Bobby Heenan: Sure, Kanyon is an unknown quantity here on Nitro so if Badd takes him for granted BAM it could be all over

Tony Schiavone: I doubt Badd will be taking anything for granted here tonight Brain

The referee holds the belt up in the air before calling for the opening bell, Kanyon in his plain black wrestling trunks, circles Badd and shoots for his legs, Badd easily fends off Kanyon’s opening attack and the two men then lock up with a collar and elbow tie-up, Kanyon shoots Badd into the ropes who comes off with a Shoulderblock that knocks Kanyon down to the mat, Badd runs off of the ropes and jumps over the prone body of Kanyon, Kanyon gets to his feet and leapfrogs the running Badd, who comes off the ropes yet again and this time Clotheslines Kanyon down to the mat, cover, 1… 2… Kickout from Kanyon. Diamond Dallas Page and Kimberly walk out from behind the entrance curtain and walk up to the commentary booth, DDP stands resting against the announce table watching the in ring action, he and Kimberly share a private joke and begin to laugh and point at Badd in the ring. Badd who by this stage has seen the two next to the announce table turns around and begins to yell at them, from behind Kanyon Schoolboys Badd, 1… 2… Kickout from Badd. Both men get up at the same time, Badd grabs Kanyon and slams him to the mat, he drops a quick elbow and then pulls Kanyon back up, he whips him into the ropes and scores with a Dropkick. Kimberly holds up a sign with a big zero on it and she and DDP laugh at Badd once again.

Tony Schiavone: Diamond Dallas Page and Kimberly don’t seem impressed with the reigning Television Champion

Bobby Heenan: Hey, Badd’s a zero, Kimberly was just telling him what everyone else already thinks of him

Tony Schiavone: I doubt that Brain, you don’t get to be a champion in this company if you’re not the best around

Badd picks up Kanyon and plants him with a Neckbreaker, Badd makes the cover, 1… 2… Kickout from Kanyon. Badd gets up and walks over to Page and Kimberly and yells at them once again to leave, Page stands up and walks to a crowd member and grabs a box of popcorn and begins to eat from it, flicking a piece in Badd’s direction. Kanyon delivers some Clubbing Forearms to Badd’s back before whipping him into the corner once again, Kanyon puts Badd up on the top rope once again, he looks for a Superplex but Badd manages to block it and push Kanyon down to the mat, as Kanyon gets up Badd comes off of the top rope with a Flying Crossbody Block, cover, 1… 2… 3!

Diamond Dallas Page: Wow, I mean wow champ, that was great… Begins to laugh No, no really that was really great. Hey Kim, what did you think?

Kimberly holds up the sign with the number zero on it and DDP once again begins to laugh

Diamond Dallas Page: Okay, so maybe Kim isn’t a big fan of yours, but you know what Johnny I like you, so I’ll tell you what I’ll do, I’ll get some guy to come out here and face me and then I’ll show you how a real champion fights and hey who knows one day, if you try hard enough, you’ll be less like a zero and more like DDP

Diamond Dallas Page drops the microphone and Badd gets out of the ring shaking his head

Tony Schiavone: That Diamond Dallas Page is a piece of work, fans I’m being informed that we need to take a break, but don’t go away we’ll be right back

DDP gets to his feet and bows towards Badd, Kimberly blows Page a kiss as he walks around the ring waiting for JL to get to his feet.

Tony Schiavone: Cocky man this Diamond Dallas Page

Bobby Heenan: He has every right to be cocky look at him

Tony Schiavone: Diamond Dallas Page making his feelings known towards Johnny B Badd there

Bobby Heenan: That’s not how I’d do things, personally I’d walk up to the guy, become his friend and then when he least expects it, BAM, I’d hit him with something that weighs about a hundred pounds right in the head

Tony Schiavone: You’re a class act Brain, still to come fans we have Lex Luger taking on Jim Duggan, Harlem Heat will defend the WCW World Tag Team Championships against The American Males, Marcus Bagwell and Scotty Riggs. Tony Schiavone: The reformed American Males looking to make an impact in their first match since joining together again

Bobby Heenan: How come they have reformed again?

Tony Schiavone: Well Harlem Heat have been challenging anyone and everyone in World Championship Wrestling, so I would assume that Bagwell and Riggs decided to reform and try to win the Tag Team Titles

Booker T manages to fight out of the Rear Chinlock and get to his knees, Bagwell clamps on a Side Headlock but Booker T elbows Bagwell in the ribs to break it, Booker T comes off of the ropes, he ducks the attempted Clothesline by Bagwell and comes off of the ropes with a Flying Shoulderblock. Winners [And still Tag Team Champions]: Harlem Heat (60%/48%/72%)

Bobby Heenan: Still undefeated and still proving their claim to be unbeatable Schiavone

Tony Schiavone: Out of all the great teams that WCW has seen over the years, it could easily be argued that Harlem Heat are one of the greatest

Bobby Heenan: Glad to see you’re finally coming around to a correct way of thinking

Tony Schiavone: Just because I recognise that they are a good team, doesn’t mean that I like them Brain

Bobby Heenan: That’s the problem with you Schiavone you expect everyone to play by the rules, Harlem Heat get the job done however they like, just like Lex Luger who we’re about to see in action, if you get the win that’s all that matters

Tony Schiavone: Some people like to have pride and respect in themselves Brain

Bobby Heenan: If you’re not in this business to win by any means necessary, you’re in the wrong business, I’ve been saying that for years and now that Lex Luger seems to have that idea on board he is heading straight for World War Three with a great chance of becoming the new WCW Heavyweight Champion

Tony Schiavone: Perhaps Brain but I’ve heard a lot of rumblings in the back and a lot of wrestlers are not happy with Luger’s actions as of late, attack at random, taking people out of their livelihoods, Luger could be a marked man at World War Three, particularly by the Macho Man Randy Savage

Bobby Heenan: Savage Smavige, you did see what happened last time Savage and Luger fought, Savage was left a battered mess at the hands of Luger and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen again

Tony Schiavone: Well fans after the commercials Lex Luger will be in action against Jim Duggan and don’t forget Brian Pillman of the Horsemen taking on Dustin Rhodes in the main event, we’ll be right back

**COMMERCIALS**

Tony Schiavone: And we’re back, Monday Nitro is coming to you live tonight fans from Atlanta, Georgia the home of World Championship Wrestling and Brain we still have three big match-ups still to come tonight. The main event will see Brian Pillman take on Dustin Rhodes, we also have the big United States Championship situation as the US Champ, Kensuke Sasaki teams with one of the number one contenders Paul Orndorff, to take on the other two number one contenders, Too Cold Scorpio and ‘Canadian Crippler’ Chris Benoit

Bobby Heenan: It’s a crazy situation but tonight something will hopefully be solved in the ring

Tony Schiavone: I gotta agree with you there Brain and up next we have Jim Duggan taking on, a favourite of yours Brain, Lex Luger

Bobby Heenan: You gotta like Luger’s attitude in my book, in just a few weeks sixty men will be entering three rings to try and become the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Sixty men, Schiavone, and Luger knows that if he can weaken even just a few of the competitors in that match before it happens his chances of winning the title increase, so whether it’s a ballbat to the throat or an attack backstage, whatever Luger does to take one person out of the game is to his benefit

Jim Duggan Vs. Lex Luger

A large cheer goes up as Jim Duggan makes his entrance into the arena, Duggan holds a two by four high above his head as he marches down the aisle towards the ring, Duggan rolls into the ring and marches around the ring to even more cheers from the crowd, Duggan drops the two by four and starts a quick ‘U-S-A’ chant before Lex Luger’s music kicks in. Luger comes to the ring wearing black wrestling trunks and black boots, holding a black ballbat in hi right hand, the crowd boo and jeer as Luger makes his way to the ring, he climbs into the ring and walks straight over to Duggan getting all up in his face, the referee grabs the ballbat from Luger’s hand and puts in one of the corners, Luger pushes Duggan down to the mat and the opening bell rings.

Kickout from Duggan. Luger picks up Duggan and whips him to the ropes, Luger catches Duggan in an Abdominal Stretch.

Tony Schiavone: Duggan is in trouble now

Bobby Heenan: Come on Lex, pull him apart

Duggan struggles in the hold for a good minute or so with Lex occasionally grabbing the rope behind to add more strain to the hold when the referee was out of position, the referee however finally catches Luger holding the rope and kicks his arm away, which allows Duggan to Hiptoss Luger down to the mat. Luger gets up and is knocked down by a charging Duggan, Luger gets to his feet once again but is met with a boot to the stomach from his opponent who then follows up by hitting a Swinging Neckbreaker on the doubled over Luger, Duggan backs into the corner and then walks out and delivers the Old Glory Kneedrop, Duggan makes a cover, 1… Kickout with ease from Luger.

Duggan just gets to his feet, Luger runs over and drives the bat straight into Duggan’s head knocking him down to the mat, Luger raises the bat high above his head BALLBAT TO THE TRACHEA~! Duggan begins to cough up blood on the mat as Luger raises the bat once again

Bobby Heenan: Look out Lex!

Tony Schiavone: It’s Randy Savage!

Savage slides into the ring and blocks Lex’s attempt to hit him with the ballbat, Savage hits a few big right hands on Luger and whips him to the ropes, Luger holds onto the ropes and slides out of the ring and begins to walk up the aisle taunting Savage as he goes. Luger holds the ballbat above his head as he walks out of the arena to huge boos and jeers from the fans as Savage stays with Jim Duggan who continues to cough up blood as the paramedics make their way to the ring.

Tony Schiavone: Oh my God fans, Brain can you believe what Lex Luger has just done? His actions here tonight have been heinous

Bobby Heenan: This is a tough business Schiavone, sometimes you've got to go above and beyond

Tony Schiavone: But that was just sick, fans we're going to have to take a commercial break while the paramedics sort this out, we'll be right back

We come back from the commercial break to find Dustin Rhodes in a locker room, Dustin is taping up his wrists when suddenly the door behind him opens, Dustin spins around to see Sting standing in the doorway, Sting walks over to Dustin with a smile on his face and pats Dustin on the back, the two men shake hands and nod to each other. Sting sits down on a bench in the locker room as Dustin continues to tape up his wrists.

[83%]

Tony Schiavone: Welcome back fans, during the break Jim Duggan was helped to the back by paramedics and the 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, we'll try and get word out to you all about his condition as soon as possible but if we don't get anything before the end of the show the information will be up on the WCW Hotline as soon as we have it. And Brain did you see that, it would appear as if Dustin Rhodes has some back up tonight in the form of THE STINGER

Bobby Heenan: I can't believe it Schiavone, what a sore loser that Sting is, just because he lost last week to a Horsemen he's joining up with Dustin Rhodes to ensure that Dustin gets one back for him

Tony Schiavone: Oh come off it Brain, we both know that Sting is there to even up the odds against the Horsemen, we all saw what the Horsemen did to Sting last week and he's here to ensure that they don't do it again tonight

Bobby Heenan: I can't believe you keep on falling for Sting's goody-goody act Schiavone, Sting's just jealous that he isn't good enough to be one of the Horsemen. You should of seen him before Curt Hennig was revealed as the fourth member, he was literally begging to be in the group

Tony Schiavone: That's a flat out lie and you know it Brain! So Sting will be looking out for Dustin Rhodes here tonight in our main event, as Dustin goes up against Brian Pillman of the Horsemen, but before that Brain we have a tag team match up between four men who are all interested in the United States Championship, the champion Kensuke Sasaki, Paul Orndorff, Too Cold Scorpio and Chris Benoit

Bobby Heenan: This should be a great match Schiavone, Benoit is mean piece of work and can get the job done, Scorpio is one of the best highflyers I've ever seen, Orndorff is the crafty and talented veteran and Sasaki is the talented champ

Tony Schiavone: The three contenders for the title will all be looking for a strong showing here tonight as it will push up their chances of getting a shot at Sasaki's title, lets take it to the ring for the introductions

Tony Schiavone: Tensions will be running high in this match, none of the men wanting to show any weakness, none of the men here in the ring for anyone but themselves

Bobby Heenan: Backstabbing, hatred, jealousy... I love it, this is what pro wrestling is all about Schiavone

Paul Orndorff makes his way to the ring to little reaction from the Atlanta crowd, he slides into the ring with little hoopla. Kensuke Sasaki's music hits and he makes his way to the ring with Bull Nakano at his side, Nakano holds the belt as Sasaki marches to the ring, he climbs into the ring and is handed the belt by Nakano he holds it in the air to some moderate boos and jeers from the crowd, Sasaki hands the belt back to Nakano, all three of the contenders stare at Sasaki for a few moments before the referee calls for the opening bell.

Benoit picks up Orndorff and delivers some Forearms to the back, Benoit Snap Suplexes Orndorff and goes for the cover, 1... 2... Kickout from Orndorff. Benoit with the Irish Whip, he scores with a big time Clothesline that takes Orndorff down once again, Benoit leans down to pick up Orndorff but gets Inside Cradled, 1... 2... Kickout from Sasaki. Benoit picks up Sasaki and whips him into the ropes, Orndorff makes a blind tag, Benoit takes Sasaki down with a Hiptoss but gets Clotheslined down himself by Orndorff.

Tony Schiavone: Orndorff showing off his veteran knowledge of the sport there, making a great blind tag and using it to his advantage there

Bobby Heenan: That's what makes this match great Schiavone, each man is out to prove himself and each man brings something different to the table

Orndorff picks up Benoit and Powerslams him down, Orndorff drops the wiggle Elbow to a small reaction from the crowd, Orndorff makes the cover, 1... 2... Kickout from Benoit. Benoit is sent for the ride by Orndorff who delivers a big time Backbody Drop to the 'Canadian Crippler', Orndorff picks up Benoit and looks for another Powerslam, but Benoit slides off over the back and delivers a release German Suplex to Mr. Wonderful, Benoit manages to make it over and tag in Too Cold Scorpio just as Orndorff gets to his feet. This, along with LK's and ADGray's diaries, is one of my favourite diaries on this board. I love the match detail, yet you manage to keep it to a readable length - you even managed to make Luger/Duggan sound interesting. Heenan is a real highpoint, the stuff about Mexican border control is classic Brain. Great character development with guys like Hennig, DDP and Luger so a big thumbs up. The midcard is also looking extremely strong, as is the tag division.

All in all, this rocks - keep it up.

Thanks a lot FI, being ranked up there with LK's diary is an honour as I dig that diary as well, haven't had a chance to sit down and really read ADGray's though

I'm glad some people don't find the length of the shows too long, I try to keep the tempo of the match up when I write, so even if I'm writing a dull match you can read it all without getting bored or whatever. Also I try and change the action up as much as possible and stick little things into matches, like the DDP/Kimberly stuff in the Badd match to keep the reader interested in what is going on. Hopefully it works.

A lot of people seem to be digging Heenan, I personally find him quite easy and enjoyable to write. I grew up on listening to the Brain so I'm guessing I've just retained a lot of useless knowledge about his style and mannerisms

I do have some interesting (In my mind at least) characters in store for a lot of guys, particularly the ones you mentioned, hopefully I'll be able to build them up. Pillman is another one who I will hopefully be able to mould a good character out of, although it will more than likely borrow liberally from his post-WCW career

I'd have to disagree with you on the tag team division, its pretty weak in my opinion at this stage, it'll grow further down the line hopefully when I add a few more teams in. At the moment their seems to be too big of a gap between The Heat and everyone else.

The midcard is good though, I love midcarders, easier to work with in my opinion a lot of the time.

-----

I'll probably have the weekend shows and some news up during the week, don't expect Nitro for a while though, I have a few essays due in that I need to concentrate on first.
