It's 2004 and I'm thinking about music from..1998?

This morning while I was being driven to school, I heard Third Eye Blind's "Jumper". I then started thinking about all the music I remembered listening to in 1998 for some reason. Those were the days, though. The days of Eagle Eye Cherry's partly annoying song. The days of the end of a girl band.

And, of course, the days of boy bands. :shifty:

What was your music memories of 1998?

Heck, state any other memories of 1998 if you feel like it.

Wake up kids

We've got the dreamers disease

Age 14 we got you down on your knees

So polite, you're busy still saying please

Fri-enemies, who when you're down ain't your friend

Every night we smash their Mercedes-Benz

First we run and then we laugh till we cry

But when the night is falling

and you cannot find the light

If you feel your dream is dying

Hold tight

You've got the music in you

Don't let go

You've got the music in you

One dance left

This world is gonna pull through

Don't give up

You've got a reason to live

Can't forget you only get what you give

Four a.m. we ran a miracle mile

were flat broke but hey we do it in style

The bad rich

God's flying in for your trial

This whole damn world can fall apart

You'll be ok follow your heart

You're in harms way

I'm right behind

Now say youre mine

Fly high

What's real can't die

You only get what you give

Just dont be afraid to leave

Health insurance rip off lying FDA big bankers buying

Fake computer crashes dining

Cloning while they're multiplying

Fashion mag shoots

with the aid of 8 dust brothers Beck, Hanson

Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson

You're all fakes

Run to your mansions

Come around

We'll kick your ass in!

Don't let go

One dance left

Ah, 1998. Sean Combs was still Puff Daddy, Will Smith was in the prime of his return to music, Usher was making a name for himself, girls (and maybe a few guys) wanted to nail the Backstreet Boys, Destiny's Child had 5 members, Mariah Carey was still considered mentally sane, Master P made em say "Uhhhh", Aerosmith unleashed everyone's favorite guilty pleasure "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing", Madonna decided to grace the world with a new CD, and Mase was there too.

I was a huge fan of Rage Against the Machine, The Doors, Smashing Pumpkins, and Jimi Hendrix in 1998. I remember alot of the hits of that time, I'd always watch an early morning MTV music video show before school. I forget the name of it, but they'd call the rock videos "Buzz Clips".

The problem is, 1998 could not have been a good year for me in the music department. It obviously didn't leave an impact on me, if in 1999 I stopped watching MTV, and listening to the radio completely. None of it appealed to me, so I found different music through reading, and a few suggestions.

It's weird, in 1998 I was listening to a lot of my family's old stuff - the Beatles, the Kinks, the Doors and the Faces. Being about 11 at the time things are a little sketchy, but I do remember liking that Eagle Eye Cherry song and buying 'Fat of the Land' on CD. I was pretty much living off old LP's and those NOW compelations though - I listened to NOW 35 for a kick of nostalga just the other day.

Big question now. Not sure if the year is 1998, but just saw the video for Nice Guy Eddie by Sleeper on The Amp and if anyone knows if Louise Wener is still single, please pass her number onto me. Unless shes ballooned to 20 stone since fame passed her by.
