HCW Presents Deadly Game

- March 12th, 2005 from the Viking Hall in Philadelphia, PA.

Team Hero made their way out to the ring to kick off the show. Chris Hero lead the way with Blackjack Marciano, Eddie Kingston and Lacey behind him. Lacey carried a scoreboard with them to the ring. Chris Hero grabbed a microphone from the ring announcer and began to speak.

Hero: “Welcome everybody, welcome to the first ever open challenge Cravate match. If you aren’t familiar with the concept, allow me to explain it to you. It is an open challenge match to anybody here in Hybrid Championship Wrestling. If someone can withstand a match against me and the deadly Cravate, they win. If not, and they lose the match, they lose the challenge.

Before we get this started, allow me to introduce everybody to a completely new concept in wrestling, the Cravate Counter. Ms Lacey will be in charge of keeping track of the Cravates that I use in the match. Every time I use one, the number goes up. I hope its simple enough for you Philadelphia scum to understand. So now that you know that, lets the challenge underway…”

As Chris Hero said that, Davey Andrews appeared from the curtain. Hero and the Wildcards beat Andrews up pretty badly last month, and it seems as if he is looking for revenge. Andrews ran at the ring and charged at Hero to get the match started.

Cravate Challenge Match: Chris Hero vs. Davey Andrews

Andrews immediately rushed into the ring and tackled Hero down to the mat and hit him with some big right hands before getting up to his feet and trying to pump the crowd up and get them into the match. He then turned around and picked Hero up to his feet. Hero was knocked backwards with some nasty forearms from Andrews. With Hero leaning against the ropes, Andrews connected with a few sharp knife edge chops. Irish whip by Andrews sends Hero running towards the ropes, but Hero slid out of the ring to avoid him. On the outside, Hero received some water from Blackjack Marciano as Eddie Kingston used a towel to try to cool Hero off. They did not have a lot of time however as Davey Andrews dove through the ropes and took all three members of Team Hero down to the ground with a tope. Andrews once again tried to get the crowd behind him for a moment as he slid Chris Hero into the ring and went for a pin, one, two, no! Eddie Kingston distracted the referee as Blackjack Marciano pulled Andrews off Hero. Andrews was distracted and turned his attention to the Wildcards on the outside of the ring, which allowed Chris Hero to get up to his feet and lock Andrews into the cravate. Lacey turned the cravate counter to one and the Wildcards made a big deal of it to the fans on the outside of the ring. Andrews nearly fought out of the hold, but Hero kicked one of his knees in from the back and brought him down to one foot and one knee. Andrews soon escape by hitting Hero in the gut with a few back elbow shots. Back to his feet, Davey Andrews ran the ropes and charged at Hero, only to be taken to the mat with a sickening lariat from Hero. He picked Andrews up from the mat and locked him into another cravate, to send the cravate counter up to 2. Andrews once again fought free with a few back elbows. Andrews ran the ropes again, only to take a nasty chair shot to the back from Marciano as the referee was focused on Lacey, who had climbed up to the ring apron to distract him. Andrews fell right to the mat and Hero picked his limp body up from the mat and locked him into the cravate. Just like last month, Davey Andrews was unconscious going into the hold and did not regain consciousness while in the hold. Chris Hero has stolen another victory from Davey Andrews and capped it off with the cravate.

Winner: Chris Hero

Roderick Strong and Jack Evans vs. The New Pitbulls

Mike Kruel of the Pitbulls started the match off against Roderick Strong. They locked up, and Kruel gained the advantage with a waist lock. Strong powered out of the hold and ran the ropes. Once he came back from the ropes he went for a lariat on Kruel, but he ducked underneath it before taking Strong down to the mat with an armbar. Kruel continued to apply the hold as he made his way over to the corner of the ring to tag in Gary Wolfe. He stomped on Strong’s arm as Kruel continued to lock in the submission until the referee forced him to leave the ring. Wolfe picked Strong up from the mat and sent him into the ropes, only to fall victim to a nasty yakuza kick right to the face from Strong. Jack Evans jumped on the ring apron in anticipation as he tried to get Roderick Strong to tag him into the match. Once the tag was made, Evans rushed into the ring and knocked Kruel off the ring apron followed by taking Gary Wolfe down to the mat with a big spin kick. Evans quickly went onto the ring apron and hopped up to the top rope for a big springboard DDT to Gary Wolfe once Wolfe got back up to his feet. Evans makes a cover, one, two, no! Wolfe kicked out. Evans picked Wolfe up from the mat and sent him running into the ropes. After a leapfrog sequence, Evans hopped up and took Wolfe down to the mat with a huracanrana. With Gary Wolfe down on the mat, he went over to the corner of the ring and tagged Roderick Strong back into the match. Strong immediately went to work on Wolfe with a couple of nasty knife edge chops, followed by lifting Wolfe off from his feet and taking him back down with a brutal backbreaker. Wolfe rolled over to the corner of the ring as an attempt to get away from Roderick Strong, but Strong lifted him up by his legs and drove his back right into Strong’s knee with another backbreaker. Strong makes a cover, one, two, no! Wolfe kicked out of it. Roderick picked Gary Wolfe up from the mat and brought him over to the corner of the ring. He tagged Jack Evans into the mat before hitting Wolfe with a backbreaker, and holding Wolfe across his knee. As Strong was doing that, Jack Evans climbed up to the top rope and took Wolfe out with a nasty somersault leg drop. He makes a cover on Wolfe, one, two, no! He kicked out. Evans stomped at Wolfe a few times before going for a standing shooting star press, but Wolfe rolled out of the way and Evans went face first into the mat. Wolfe slowly made his way to the corner of the ring and tagged Mike Kruel into the match for the first time in a while. Kruel rushed into the ring and knocked Jack Evans down to the ground with a clothesline just as he was getting to his feet before knocking Roderick Strong off the ring apron. With Evans down on the mat, Mike Kruel tried to end the match with his cross armbreaker submission. Jack Evans struggled while he was in the hold, but he was saved by Roderick Strong as he pulled Evans out of the ring by his feet. Strong then rushed into the ring and took Gary Wolfe down to the outside with a yakuza kick before picking Mike Kruel up from the mat, CX ’03! Just as Kruel hit the mat, Jack Evans went up to the top rope, 630 Splash! Evans makes the cover on Kruel, one, two, three! It’s over, Roderick Strong and Jack Evans are victorious.

Winners: Roderick Strong and Jack Evans

Heyman interview

After a quick intermission, Paul Heyman made his way down to the ring. He has the traditional backstage passes around his neck, and a new belt in his hand. He grabs a microphone from the ring announcer and goes into the ring.

Heyman: “As I’m sure some of you have heard, Hybrid Championship Wrestling will be debuting on TV shortly when Hybrid TV comes on MSG every Friday at 8:00 PM. Starting April 1st, HCW will be running the Heavyweight Title tournament, which will eventually end at our big event in March entitled ‘Crowning A Champion’. I have already signed Sabu, The Sandman, Raven, Justin Credible and Jerry Lynn to wrestle in the tournament. The final three spots are up for grabs. Two of them will be decided tonight. The winner of the CM Punk vs. Austin Aries match will have a spot in the tournament and the winner of the Jamie Noble vs. Spanky match will have a spot in the tournament. The final spot will be awarded to the winner of a ten man battle royal on the first episode of Hybrid TV. Good luck to everybody in the tournament, and good luck to those trying to get in.”

Heyman walks off backstage as the crowd seemed to be excited with the news of a heavyweight title.

Grudge Match: Austin Aries vs. CM Punk

The stakes for this match just became much higher with Paul Heyman’s announcement that the winner of this match would go onto the HCW Heavyweight Title tournament. Punk and Aries started the match off in a collar and elbow tie up. Punk gained the advantage and lead Aries towards the corner of the ring, but Aries got against the ropes and the referee called for a break. Punk broke the hold and left Aries in the corner of the ring. Nasty knife edge chop from CM Punk. Aries came back with a chop of his own, followed by Punk hitting Aries with a string of sharp chops. Aries retreated to the outside of the ring in an attempt to avoid CM Punk, but Punk followed him to the outside. He slammed Aries’ face onto the top of the crowd barricade and then tossed him over the barricade, into the crowd. Punk smashed Aries’ face into a steel chair, which busted Aries open before tossing him over the barricade and soon back into the ring. Punk picked Aries up and went for a dragon suplex, but Aries delivered a low blow kick to Punk to break free. Aries slowly crawled up to his feet and he kicked Punk in the gut a few times before locking him into the Rings of Saturn. Punk struggled to hang on while he was in the hold. He slowly crawled over towards the ropes, and finally managed to break free as he touched the bottom rope. Aries lifted Punk up from the mat before dropping him back down with a nasty german suplex. Aries held onto it with a bridge and pinned Punk, one, two, no! Punk kicked out of it. Austin Aries picked Punk up from the mat again. He set Punk up for a tiger driver, but Punk countered it with a big implant DDT. Neither man was moving after that move, and the referee began a ten count. Once he reached six, Punk and Aries slowly began to get up to their feet. Punk gained the advantage when both men got up to their feet with some forearm shots to Aries’ head. Punk whipped Aries into the ropes, and once he returned took him down to the mat with a brutal superkick. Pin by Punk, one, two, no! Aries kicked out. Punk picked Aries up from the mat, Northern lights suplex into the corner- NO! Aries landed feet first on the second rope much to the surprise of everybody. He quickly turned around and dropped CM Punk down to the mat with a tornado DDT! Aries makes the cover, one, two, no! Punk kicked out of it. With Punk still down on the mat, Aries went up to the top rope and called for the 450 splash, but as he jumped, Punk rolled out of the way and Aries went face first into the mat. Punk then quickly got up to his feet before applying the Anaconda Vice on Aries, which forced him to tap out after about half of a minute. CM Punk will advance to the HCW Heavyweight Title Tournament.

Winner: CM Punk

68, 58, 79

Jamie Noble vs. Spanky

Noble and Spanky started the match off in a test of strength. Spanky gained the advantage and bridged Noble’s shoulders down to the mat for a cover, one, two, no. Noble dropped down to his back and lifted Spanky up with his feet, which eventually lead to Spanky being monkey flipped down to the mat. Noble kept Spanky grounded by applying a rear chin lock, but Spanky got up to his feet and knocked the wind out of Noble with a pair of nasty back elbows to Noble’s gut. With Noble bent over in the center of the ring, Spanky ran the ropes and took him down with a nasty swinging neckbreaker. Pin by Spanky, one, two, no! Noble kicked out. Spanky picked Noble up from the mat and sent him into the corner of the ring with an irish whip. Once he returned from the ropes, Noble jumped and got onto Spanky’s back before taking him down to the mat with a crucifix pin, one, two, no! Spanky kicked out of it. Noble brought Spanky back up to his feet and quickly took him back down with a snap mare. With Spanky sitting down on the mat, Jamie Noble climbed up to the top rope and nailed him with a missile dropkick to the back of his head. Pin by Noble, one, two, no! Spanky kicked out. Spanky rolled out of the ring, but Noble was right behind him and ready to take him out with a big baseball slide kick to the face, which sent Spanky crashing into the crowd barricade. With Spanky now leaning against the crowd barricade, Jamie Noble climbed onto the ring apron. Nasty dropkick to Spanky’s face from Noble. He rolled Spanky into the ring and went for the cover, one, two, no! Spanky kicked out! Noble picked up Spanky and called for a Tiger Driver, but Spanky continued to buckle his knees so that Noble would not be able to lift him up. Eventually, Noble gave up on the Tiger Driver and quickly ran the ropes, Shining Wizard- NO! Spanky blocked it with his forearms and shoved Noble off into the ropes. Noble came back off the ropes only to take a nasty enziguri right to the side of the head from Spanky. With Noble down on the mat, Spanky went up to the top rope, Left turn at Albuquerque! Instead of going for the cover, Spanky picked Noble up from the mat and went for the Sliced Bread #2, but Noble countered it with a big backdrop driver. Noble slowly got up to his feet before locking Spanky into a fujiwara armbar. Spanky could do nothing but tap out, which gives Jamie Noble a spot in the HCW Heavyweight Title Tournament.

Winner: Jamie Noble

72, 57, 87

After the match, Jerry Lynn made his way out to the ring. He approached Jamie Noble, and challenged him to a match to end their feud of respect in the near future. Noble accepted, and the two shook hands before going backstage.

Grudge Match: Sabu and The Sandman vs. Justin Credible and Stevie Richards w/ Raven

Justin Credible started the match off against the Sandman. Credible slugged Sandman in the face with a right hand, and Sandman came back with a big right of his own. Sandman followed up on his punch with a couple more big right hands before whipping Justin Credible into the ropes. Once Credible came off the ropes he was taken down via a big boot from the Sandman. Sabu was tagged into the match, and he went right to work on Justin Credible, springing over the top rope and landing on top of him with a leg drop. Sabu wasn’t done with just that though. He picked Credible up from the mat and sent him into the ropes. A leg lariat brought Credible down to the mat, and Sabu quickly went out to the ring apron again. Slingshot somersault senton by Sabu! He goes for the cover, one, two, no! Stevie Richards came into the ring and broke up the pin. Sabu chased Stevie out of the ring. Stevie ran to the outside and hid underneath the ring to avoid Sabu. Once Sabu got to the outside he lifted up the apron, only to get a trash can lid shot right to the face from Stevie Richards. Stevie rolled Sabu into the ring for Justin Credible, who went right to work on him with some stomps. Credible then picked Sabu up from the mat and sent him into the ropes. Once he came back, Credible took Sabu down with a big super kick and went for a cover, one, two, no! Sabu kicked out. Credible tagged Stevie Richards into the match. Stevie kicked Sabu’s ribs a few times before picking him up from the mat. He brought Sabu over to the corner of the ring where he opened up on Sabu’s chest with some knife edge chops before hiking him up to the top turnbuckle and tagging Justin Credible into the match. Double Superplex by Credible and Richards, and Credible makes the cover, one, two, no! Sabu kicked out. Justin Credible went for a vertical suplex on Sabu, but Sabu rolled off from behind Credible and stumbled over to the corner of the ring where he tagged the Sandman back into the match. Sandman went into the ring and immediately dropped Justin Credible to the mat with a big right hand. Stevie Richards charged at the Sandman as well and was quickly dropped down to the mat with another big right from Sandman. Justin Credible got back up to his feet, only to be taken back down to the mat with a short arm clothesline from Sandman. It seemed as if Sandman could dominate Stevie Richards and Justin Credible by himself until Raven jumped onto the ring apron. He said something to the Sandman, which distracted him long enough for Justin Credible to get back up to his feet and knock Sandman out with the That’s Incredible! He goes for the cover, one, two, no! Sabu broke it up from the top rope with an Arabian Facebuster to the back of Credible’s head! He makes the cover, one, two, three! It’s over, Sabu and The Sandman are victorious.

Winners: Sabu and The Sandman

71, 64, 79

After the match, Raven retreated with Stevie and Justin still in the ring. He went backstage and the show ended with Sabu pointing up to the sky and the Sandman drinking beer in the crowd.

HCW Presents: HYBRID TV

April 1st, 2005

Kloss: “Hello everybody, and welcome to Hybrid Championship Wrestling’s first ever edition of Hybrid TV. I am Kris Kloss alongside Dean Hill. Quite a night we have in store, huh Dean?”

Hill: “That’s right Kris. CM Punk will square off with Austin Aries in a rematch from Deadly Game. There will be a battle royal for a spot in the HCW Heavyweight Title Tournament, and in the Main Event we will see the first match from the tournament! But lets get things started with The Wildcards, who are taking on the debuting Mike Quackenbush and Gran Akuma from the CHIKARA Wrestle Factory.

The Wildcards w/ Lacey and Chris Hero vs. Mike Quackenbush & Gran Akuma

The Wildcards made their way to the ring first. Blackjack Marciano and Eddie Kingston had matching black, red and white pants and warm-up jackets on. They taunted the crowd near the entrance way, and Eddie Kingston nearly got in a fight with a fan. Once the Wildcards got into the ring, Mike Quackenbush and Gran Akuma made their way to the ring. Akuma is one of Quackenbush’s top students from the school. He is a masked figure with a technical lucha style.

The match got underway with Eddie Kingston and Mike Quackenbush. Kingston gained the advantage early with a waist lock, but Quackenbush countered it and took Kingston down to the mat with a side headlock takedown. Quack then got up to his feet and kicked Kingston’s elbow to pop up his arm, followed by twisting away at Kingston’s elbow. He then tagged Akuma into the match, who kicked Kingston’s arm before picking him up from the mat and applying an arm wringer. Modified arm drag from Akuma takes Kingston down to the mat. On the mat, Akuma continues to work on Kingston’s arm with a nasty elevated armbar. Kingston slowly out powered Akuma and worked up to his feet, although his arm was still in the hold from Akuma. He managed to tag Marciano into the match for the first time, and he went right to work on Akuma with a nasty forearm to his face. An Irish whip sends Akuma across the ring and into the ropes. Once he came back from the ropes he went for a crucifix pin, but Marciano reversed it with a big backbreaker. Pin by Marciano, one, two, no! Akuma kicked out. Marciano picked Akuma up and brought him over to the corner of the ring where he tagged Kingston back into the match. He went right after Akuma with some nasty headbutts before dropping him right to the mat with a lariat. Pin by Kingston, one, two, no! Akuma kicked out. Kingston picked Akuma up from the mat and tried to send him into the ropes, but Akuma countered it and sent Kingston in instead. Akuma laid Kingston out with a dropkick as he returned before slowly crawling over to the corner of the ring to tag Mike Quackenbush back into the match. Quack went right after Kingston with a few forearms before taking him down and applying an elevated half crab. It appeared as if Kingston would tap out, but Blackjack Marciano rushed into the ring and took Quack down with a big kick to the face. Marciano soon knocked Akuma off the ring apron and went to the outside of the ring where he beat on him as Eddie Kingston got up to his feet in the ring. Kingston nailed Quackenbush with a pair of nasty headbutts before scooping him up and bringing him down with a rib breaker before applying the Kondo Clutch! Quackenbush was forced to tap out, giving the win to the Wildcards.

Winners: The Wildcards

50, 29, 71

After the match, Chris Hero came into the ring with a microphone and began to speak to the crowd.

Hero: “So it looks like Team Hero has once again shown off our great skills in another match that nobody cares about. We keep getting matches with absolute nobodies. The last two months I wasn’t even booked in a match by Paul Heyman, I had to send out open challenges that were accepted by losers like Davey Andrews. Heyman, you clearly don’t know anything about talent. Would someone that isn’t talented be able to have the most devastating submission in professional wrestling today? No, they wouldn’t. And as you know, I am the master of the most deadly, devastating, career killing submission around, the cravate. Tonight begins my ascension to the top of Hybrid Championship Wrestling, just be glad that you get to witness it.”

53

Kloss: “Chris Hero is completely out of his mind. The cravate is such a poor submission hold. It hasn’t been the reason that Chris Hero has won any of his matches.”

Hill: “Yeah, but he still wins his matches Kris. He has to be looked at pretty seriously as a contender to get that final spot in the HCW Heavyweight Title Tournament.”

Commercial Break

He’s Coming Soon

When we come back from commercials a video is played with ‘Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangster’ playing in the background. It is black and white, and featuring a masked man beating on opponents with lariats, forearms and nasty kicks. It ends with him stomping someone’s face into the ring mat before a picture of his mask comes onto the screen with the text, “SUPER DRAGON…COMING SOON” going across the screen.

35

Kloss: “Super Dragon looks like he could be a force here in HCW.”

Hill: “He sure does Kris, that stomp to the face looked absolutely vicious.”

Rematch from Deadly Game: Austin Aries vs. CM Punk

CM Punk was the first to come out from the curtain and make his way towards the ring. “The Straight Edge Icon” has a warm-up jacket and a pair of gym shorts with “PUNK” written on each leg. Aries made his way to the ring next. He has on a pair of black and blue trunks.

The match started off with a collar and elbow tie-up. Aries got behind Punk with a waist lock, but Punk broke the hold and rolled behind Aries for a waist lock of his own. Aries broke the hold and tried to whip Punk into the ropes, but Punk reversed it and got a boot into Aries gut. With Aries slouched over, Punk kicked him in the head to get him back to a standing position before dropping him right to the mat with a lariat. With Aries on the mat, Punk tried to end the match quickly with the anaconda vice, but Aries broke free from Punk and rolled outside of the ring. Punk followed him to the outside, only to get some forearm shots to the head from his opponent. Aries continued the attack by whipping Punk right into the metal guard rail. With Punk leaning against the rail, Aries charged at it and went for a big running cannonball, but Punk moved out of the way and Aries crashed right into the guard rail and put a huge dent into it. Punk slowly picked Aries up from the ground and rolled him back into the ring for a cover, one, two, no! Aries kicked out of it in the last second. Punk picked Aries up from the mat and sent him into the ropes. Once Aries returned he slid underneath Punk’s legs and went back to the outside of the ring again. Punk followed him out, but Aries quickly went into the ring and took Punk down outside of the ring with a pescado. Aries rolled Punk into the ring before hitting him with a nasty brainbuster and going for a cover, one, two, no! Punk kicked out. With Punk down on the mat, Austin Aries went up to the top rope and called for the 450 Splash, but before he could even go for the move, CM Punk got up to his feet and climbed up to the top rope. Reverse Pepsi Plunge by CM Punk! He makes the cover on Aries in the middle of the ring, one, two, three! It’s over, CM Punk is victorious.

Winner: CM Punk

69, 58, 80

Commercial Break

Kloss: “CM Punk is now 2-0 against Austin Aries, and he is really riding a hot streak on the way to the HCW Heavyweight Title Tournament.”

Hill: “That’s right Kris. But up next we have a ten man battle royal, with the winner receiving the coveted final spot in that HCW Heavyweight Title Tournament. Who’s your pick?”

Kloss: “I’m going to have to go with Dan Maff. He is the biggest man in the match, and will definitely make an impact in this match. If you haven’t seen him before, he might surprise you with his skills in the ring.”

Hill: “Maff did look pretty impressive when I saw him working out earlier today, but my pick has to be Bryan Danielson. He had an impressive showing at High Impact, and he is one of the top stars in the Japanese wrestling scene as well.”

Music soon came over the sound system, and the entrants for the Battle Royal made their way to the ring. Once the nine announced men entered, the sound of a cash register went over the sound system followed by “Bawitabaw” by Kid Rock coming onto the sound system. Kid Kash made his way down the entrance way and into the ring as the final entrant in the Battle Royal.

Battle Royal, winner receives final spot in the HCW Heavyweight Title Tournament

Entrants: Bryan Danielson, El Generico, Kevin Steen, Chris Hero, Davey Andrews, Izzy, Jack Evans, Roderick Strong, Dan Maff and Kid Kash

All ten men brawled in the middle of the ring, with most of them looking to take some shots at Kid Kash. Generico charged at him first, and was nearly eliminated from the match as Kash just tossed him aside into the turnbuckle post. He took Izzy down to the mat with a dropkick and taunted the crowd as he got up to his feet, but he was quickly dropped right back down to the mat by Dan Maff with a brutal lariat. Maff stood in the center of the ring and shouted, before taking on all comers. On the other side of the ring, Roderick Strong and his teammate Jack Evans took advantage of Izzy being taken down earlier in the match by tossing him over the top rope and eliminating him from the match.

Elimination 1: Izzy by Roderick Strong and Jack Evans

Kevin Steen was quick to notice Strong and Evans near the ropes. He tried to bundle them both over the top, but they ended up countering him and nearly getting Steen over the top rope. With Steen hanging onto the top rope, Strong kicked at his ribs as Evans continued to try to push him over. Steen was accidentally saved by Bryan Danielson, who missed a superkick shot on Chris Hero and nailed Jack Evans in the back of the head. Steen fell back into the ring as Hero tossed Jack Evans out, only to turn around and be tossed out by his rival of sorts Davey Andrews.

Elimination 2: Jack Evans by Chris Hero

Elimination 3: Chris Hero by Davey Andrews

Andrews celebrated for a moment, only to take a nasty European uppercut from Bryan Danielson. He was hit with a few more uppercuts before El Generico came from behind Danielson and hit him in the back of the head with a few forearms, followed by a nasty enziguri. He pointed up to the sky and gave the crowd an “OLE!” before taking Andrews over to the corner of the ring. Generico then put Andrews up on the top rope. BRAINBUSTAAH! Andrews’ head hit the top of the turnbuckle, and he fell right to the outside of the ring.

Elimination 4: Davey Andrews by El Generico

As the crowd was still in awe after that big move, Dan Maff and Bryan Danielson began a showdown of nasty forearm shots. After about ten forearms from each man, Maff ran the ropes and dropped Danielson with a brutal lariat. Maff was soon on the ground as well once Kevin Steen charged at him and took him to the mat with a running forearm. Kid Kash then quickly took Steen out of the mat with a clothesline sending him over the top and onto the floor.

Elimination 5: Kevin Steen by Kid Kash

Remaining: Bryan Danielson, El Generico, Roderick Strong, Dan Maff, Kid Kash

On the opposite side of the ring, Roderick chopped Generico’s chest to the point that it almost bled before whipping him across the ring. Generico came back and went for a huracanrana, but Strong reversed it with a brutal powerbomb backbreaker. Strong then taunted Generico by doing the “OLE!” before tossing him over the top rope and out of the ring.

Elimination 6: El Generico by Roderick Strong (2)

The four remaining wrestlers went over to their own corner of the ring and caught their breath for a moment before Strong went at with Bryan Danielson and Dan Maff went after Kid Kash. Strong and Danielson exchanged some stiff shots, and Danielson gained the advantage with a pair of nasty European uppercuts. On the other side of the ring, Dan Maff brought Kid Kash over to the corner of the ring and began to beat on him with forearms before taking him down to the mat hard with an overhead belly to belly suplex. He then picked Kid Kash up and tossed him over the top.

Elimination 7: Kid Kash by Dan Maff

With Danielson and Strong battling in the other corner, Maff ran across the ring and hit both men in the corner with a big splash. Strong fell right to the ground and Bryan Danielson staggered around the ring. Danielson took a wild swing at Maff, but Maff easily dodged it and locked him into a full nelson before dropping him hard with a dragon suplex. Maff got up to his feet, only to take a nasty yakuza kick from Roderick Strong. With Maff up against the ropes Strong chopped his chest a few times and called Danielson to get up to his feet. Strong lifted up one of Maff’s legs as Danielson got up to his feet, and Danielson soon came to Strong’s aid of lifting Maff over the top rope and out of the match.

Elimination 8: Dan Maff by Roderick Strong (3) and Bryan Danielson

Danielson fell right to the mat once Maff was eliminated, and Strong tried to lift him up, but he held onto the bottom rope for a chance to catch his breath. Danielson soon took Strong down with a leg sweep and locked him into an STF on the mat. Strong grabbed the rope and the referee forced Danielson to break his hold. Danielson then picked Strong up from the mat and tried to toss him over the top, but Strong landed on the ring apron and connected to Danielson’s head with a big forearm shot before going back into the ring and picking Danielson up. He tried to toss Danielson over the top, but Danielson got his feet down to the mat grabbed onto Roderick Strong before tossing him out of the ring through the middle ropes. The referee’s told Danielson that he had to throw Strong over the top rope, and Strong came back into the ring. The two locked up and Strong gained the advantage. He pushed Danielson against the ropes, but once Danielson came back he was dropped to the ground with a basement dropkick. Danielson then picked Strong up from the mat and tried to toss him over the top rope, but Strong wouldn’t budge. Strong then turned around and forearmed Danielson before tossing him over to the corner of the ring. Running yakuza kick by Roderick Strong! Danielson looks like he is out of it, and Strong quickly capitalizes by lifting him above his head and dropping him to the outside of the ring. Roderick Strong has won the Battle Royal, and the final spot in the HCW Heavyweight Title Tournament.

After the match, Roderick Strong celebrated in the ring by himself until Jack Evans and Austin Aries made their way to the ring. They congratulated him until Strong asked for a microphone from the ring announcer.

Strong: “Once again I have proved that I am no longer part of the future of wrestling. I am a part of the top group of wrestlers around now. Me, Austin and Jack are the best three wrestlers around now. I proved it by winning that match, and soon winning the HCW Heavyweight Title. Jack proved it by being the best high flyer in the business today, and Austin proved it by being the most consistent wrestler around. We are no longer the ‘next generation’ we are the NOW. The NOW WORLD ORDER. The wrestling world better start to look out because, WE’RE TAKIN’ OVER!”

As Strong finished speaking, Paul Heyman made his way out to the ring with the HCW Heavyweight Title and a clipboard. He got his own microphone and began to speak.

Heyman: “What the f*** do you guys think you are doing? Trying to take over my show, after I give each of you a chance to get into the Heavyweight Title Tournament. If you truly think that you are the best guys in the business today, I suggest you look at Roderick’s opponent in the first round of the tournament, the Sandman. You guys are nothing yet. You haven’t proved anything yet. Now get the hell out of my ring so I can finish talking.”

The NOW World Order leave the ring after cussing at Heyman. Aries and Evans had to hold Roderick Strong back so he couldn’t do anything to Heyman.

Heyman: “I have completed the brackets for the HCW Heavyweight Title Tournament. Tonight, Raven will face off with Jerry Lynn. Next week there will be a triple Main Event on Hybrid TV. All three of the matches will be first round matches in the HCW Heavyweight Title Tournament. CM Punk will take on Jamie Noble, Sabu will take on Justin Credible and The Sandman will take on Roderick Strong.”

Heyman went off backstage as the fans in attendance seemed very excited about the news of next week’s Hybrid TV.

Commercial Break

Kloss: “What a huge announcement from Paul Heyman. I cannot wait for next weeks big matches.”

Hill: “I’m really interested in seeing Sabu vs. Justin Credible. These two have had a small history with each other in HCW. They faced off in a tag match at Deadly Game with Sabu and The Sandman won, and Justin Credible seems to still be very angry about that.”

Kloss: “Lets get to the Main Event. The first match of the Heavyweight Title Tournament between two top veterans in the business, Raven and Jerry Lynn. Who’s your pick Dean?”

Hill: “It depends on how the match goes. Jerry Lynn obviously has the advantage in a more mat based technical match, but if things get hardcore I would have to say Raven has the advantage. We’ll just have to wait and see.”

HCW Heavyweight Title Tournament: Jerry Lynn vs. Raven w/ Stevie Richards

Jerry Lynn made his way to the ring first. The technical legend is wearing a pair of yellow and gray tights. He slapped hands with some of the fans along the entrance on his way to the ring. Raven was next to the ring. He is wearing a black t-shirt and a kilt. Stevie Richards is behind him in regular street clothes cheering Raven on. Once Raven entered the ring he stuck his arms out to his sides and posed in the center of the ring before going to the corner of the ring and sitting down.

The match started once Raven got up to his feet. He punched Lynn a few times before sending him into the ropes, but once Jerry Lynn returned he took Raven down with a running forearm. Lynn picked Raven up and brought him over to the corner of the ring where he opened up on his chest with some knife edge chops. Raven managed to break free by shoving Lynn away before running at him and dropping him to the mat with a clothesline. With Lynn on the mat, Raven locked him into a figure four leg lock, but Lynn was too close to the ropes and the referee forced Raven to break the hold. Raven picked Lynn up from the mat and slammed his head into the top turnbuckle a few times before tossing him to the outside of the ring. On the outside, Raven slammed Lynn’s head into the top of the barricade before picking him up and going for a scoop slam, but Jerry Lynn reversed it and rolled behind Raven before picking him up and dropping him crotch first across the barricade. Raven yelled in pain before being taken off the barricade via a big DDT from Jerry Lynn. Raven tried to get up to his feet and stagger away from Jerry Lynn, but Lynn caught him and rolled him into the ring for a cover, one, two, no! Raven kicked out. Lynn picked Raven up went for an irish whip on Raven, but it was reversed and Raven sent Lynn running into the corner of the ring. Lynn staggered out of the corner, only to walk right into Raven’s signature bulldog from the corner of the ring. Pin by Raven, one, two, no! Jerry Lynn kicked out. Raven picked Lynn up from the mat and held him up before quickly dropping him back down to the ground with the Evenflow DDT. Raven makes the cover, one, two, three! It’s over, and Raven is advancing in the HCW Heavyweight Title Tournament.

Winner: Raven

Kloss: “Raven picks up the big win here in the HCW Heavyweight Title Tournament, and surprisingly he did it without the help of Stevie Richards. Jerry Lynn seemed to really be in control of the match early, but Raven came back and took Lynn out with the Evenflow.”

Hill: “That was a great match Kris, and I cant wait to see more from the tournament. Next week we have Roderick Strong vs. The Sandman, CM Punk vs. Jamie Noble and Sabu vs. Justin Credible!”

Kloss: “It should be a cant miss show. See you next week folks.”
