WCW in '99- Fixing a Hole (repost)

Friday, February 19th:

*Today is a good day. No, really it is. Even though my roof leaked and almost fell in. Even though my dog decided my pants I was planning on wearing looked like a good place to relive himself. And even though it rained this morning and I forgot my umbrella, making it look like I decided to relive myself ON myself, it's still a good day. And why? Well, Sophie knows why. *

Sophie: Yep, you heard me right. 78% approval rating for last night. TV rating 1.87, which isn't great, but nothing to be worry about. Considering that the show focused mostly on undercard talent, I think that's a great sign that the audience is getting behind the product as a whole.

Me: 78% huh? That IS pretty good. I admit, I was a little worried that featuring some of the lesser-known guys might backfire on us. But I thought that everybody seemed really "on" last night.

Sophie: I agree. I admit I wasn't sure about announcing Hak and Bigelow last night, just like THAT, but I think the fans took to the idea.

Me: Well, seeing as how it IS a hardcore match, that gives it a little oomph. Besides, I think I've decided that's going on the special free pre-show anyway. Be a nice way to welcome the fans and get their blood thirst pumping.

Sophie: Good idea. What about the other matches?

Me: Well, the fans seemed to get behind Sting last night as usual. I think that, with the right interview on Nitro, Sting can really sell that match and get a good reaction from it.

Sophie: It should. Those two DO have some history between them.

Me: That's what I'm hoping some of the fans remember. Otherwise, I think things are pretty well set in place.

Sophie: What about you know who?

Me: Well, I think I've decided what to do in that situation. I'm thinking, PPV. You?

Sophie: I agree. Make it a big thing. After all, we want him to be a big star, right?

Me: Definitely. Hey, listen, I've gotta run and do ANOTHER one of those "insider" interviews. Can we finish this later?

Sophie: Sure thing. I'll run copies of the booking sheet for Nitro and go ahead and get them distributed.

Me: Sounds good. I'll call you when I'm back.

Sophie: Alright, will do. Talk to you later.

Me: Bye Sophie.

*She leaves, and suddenly the day ISN'T so good. Not just because Sophie left, but because now I have to go do the interview. I mean, I HATE these things. Oh well, gotta please the fans. Even the so-called "smart" fans. Heh, maybe I'll tell the guy that we're signing El Gigante as the surprise debut wrestler and REALLY shake things up. Hmm...*

Monday, February 22nd, 6 days before WCW Superbrawl:

Nitro!

*Instead of the usual shots of the crowd set to blaring rock music, we are shown a video set to some classical music, showing scenes form the past several weeks of WCW action, flashing various wrestlers who have been at each others throats as of late. It ends with a shot of Goldberg and Kevin Nash nose to nose, ready to tear each other apart*

*With that, the pyro explodes and the normal music kicks in as 7,022 rise to their feet and scream, expecting another great night of wrestling action. We join our announcers at ringside, Mike Tenay and Dave Meltzer*

Mike Tenay: Good evening everybody, and welcome once again to WCW Monday Nitro. AS always, I'm joined tonight by my broadcast partner in crime, Dave Meltzer.

Dave Meltzer: I hate to say it Tenay, but the only crime is that jacket you're wearing. Remind me to give you some tips after the show.

MT: I'll do that Dave. Fans, we have a great night of action for you this evening. I hope you all had a chance to go to WCW.com and view the preview for tonight’s Nitro, because things are getting ready to explode here tonight.

DM: You're absolutely right Tenay. We're about 6 days away from Superbrawl, and quite frankly, I haven't been this excited about an event in a long, LONG time.

MT: I know what you mean Dave. So many great matches already on the card for Superbrawl. And we saw one more added this past Thunder, as Hardcore Hak challenged Bam Bam Bigelow to a HARDCORE match. We've received word that that match WILL take place on the Free Pre-Pay-Per-View show. Fans, I have also received word that, based on events this past Thunder, Rick Steiner will be taking on STING at Superbrawl.

DM: You know, this match is kind of coming up at the last minute, but these two men have a long history together. Rick Steiner is an angry man right now Tenay. I don't know if I would want to be in Sting's shoes right now.

MT: I would agree with you Dave, except for one thing. Sting isn't a rookie. He's a veteran performer, and he KNOWS that he can go toe to toe with Rick Steiner.

DM: Be that as it may, it should still be a great match.

MT: I agree. But now fans, let's go down to ringside for our first match of the evening. Eddie Guerrero teams up with his nephew Chavo to take on Rey Mysterio, Jr., who will be facing DDP at Superbrawl, and the man that Eddie Guerrero will be defending his Cruiserweight Title against, Kidman. This should be a high-flying, fast paced match fans. Let's get to ringside!

**Eddie Guerrero/Chavo Guerrero, Jr. vs. Kidman/Rey Mysterio Jr.**

The Guerrero's make their way to ringside first, with Eddie especially getting a negative reaction from the fans. Kidman and Rey seem to be much more popular, although both men seem very focused on the match. As they get into the ring, the Guerrero's attack, and soon all four are battling it out in the middle of the ring. Kidman and Rey finally get control, knocking Eddie and Chavo outside the ring, before following up with stereo planchas that flatten the Guerrero's on the floor. After rolling Chavo back in, Rey takes control with some of his fast paced offense, before tagging in Kidman. Rey and Kidman show some teamwork, each hitting a move then tagging in the other man. Chavo finally manages to get a thumb to the eyes to stop the offensive assault however, and is able to tag Eddie in. Eddie goes right on the attack, stomping on Rey, who is the legal man for his team. He uses his own set of slick offense, but mixes in some good ol' fashioned cheating as well, choking Rey out every time he gets the chance. The Guerrero's show their own teamwork as they keep Rey in their corner for several minutes. Eddie makes a mistake however, when he goes up top for a dropkick, but plays to the crowd and gives Rey a chance to move. Rey drags himself over to the corner, and is able to make the hot tag to Kidman, who goes right after Eddie. Kidman almost pins Eddie after a big Rydeen Bomb, but Chavo breaks up the pin, bringing Rey into the ring. All four men go at it again, with Chavo and Rey tumbling over the top rope. The referee goes out to check on the two men, as Kidman goes to the top for a big move. Eddie however grabs his Cruiserweight Belt, and on Kidmans way down, Eddie nails him in the side of the head with it, knocking Kidman out. Eddie pins him, and the referee slides back in the ring to count the victory.

*Eddie and Chavo don't have long to celebrate however, as Rey sees what is happening and grabs a chair, running into the ring to chase Eddie and Chavo out. They don't go far however. In fact, Eddie goes over to the ring announcer and grabs the mike...*

(82/71/94; ***1/4)

**Eddie tells it like HE thinks it is...**

Eddie Guerrero: You see that Kidman? Huh? You see that essa? THAT'S what's gonna happen at Superbrawl punk. When you get in that ring with ME, for MY belt, I'm gonna lay you out, and beat you so bad your own MOTHER won't recognize you. So Kidman, essa, I hope you enjoy the last few days before the PPV. Because at Superbrawl, I'm gonna make your life a living HELL.

*Eddie drops the mike, and walks out, taunting the fans as Kidman struggles to rise to his feet*

(85%)

MT: What a cheap victory for Eddie Guerrero and Chavo. Eddie better HOPE that Kidman isn't at his best on Sunday as a result of that beating. Because I have a feeling that Kidman is going to be looking for payback.

DM: Well Tenay, you may not agree with Eddie Guerrero's tactics, but you can't deny that he's a man at the top of his game. That's one match to definitely look forward to at Superbrawl.

MT: You're right, that one should be a classic. Now fans, we're going to take you to an interview done earlier today with Word Champion Kevin Nash. The subject is of course his match with Goldberg for the World Title. Let's take a look.

**Nash speaks on DA MAN**

*The camera cuts to Kevin Nash standing in a room backstage, his Title belt over his shoulder. He speaks, looking directly at the camera*

Nash: Hey there Goldberg. Hey there Billy boy. Listen, I just wanted to say something, and I hope you listen. There's been a lot of bad blood between you and me lately, and well, I just want to clear the air. Get things straight. After all, what we're competing for is the top prize in this industry. This Title right here, is worth more than it's weight in gold. You know it, I know, the fans know. So what I'm proposing is that you and me meet together face to face in the ring tonight, talk things out, shake hands, and agree to bury the hatchet and put the focus of our match back where it belongs. On the World Title. I'll be heading out to the ring at the end of the show, Goldberg. So if you wanna clear the air, just come on down.

(81%)

DM: Well that's certainly a change of pace from the World Champion. I'd say that Kevin Nash sounded sincere there.

MT: Well, he may have SOUNDED sincere, but let's not forget what happened the LAST time those two men met in the ring for a face-to-face meeting. Scott Hall ambushed Goldberg, and the Outsiders almost took him out for good.

DM: Again, you may be right Tenay. But I think even if Nash ISN'T sincere, he was right about one thing. The reason Goldberg and Nash are wrestling at Superbrawl is for the World Title. And that right there is reason enough for the two of them to want to go at each other.

MT: I agree. And it should be a colossal meeting between two titans in the ring on Sunday. I just hope Nash is true to his word, and Goldberg makes it to Sunday in one piece.

DM: I have a feeling Goldberg will be there, if he has to have somebody push him in a wheelchair Tenay. And speaking of matches...

MT: What a segue way...

DM: Ahem. Speaking of matches, coming up next we have a grudge match of sorts, as Booker T, who will be challenging Chris Jericho for the Television Title at Superbrawl, takes on a man who's been a thorn in his sides of sorts, Buff Bagwell.

MT: You know, it's obvious that Bagwell is helping Jericho soften Booker T up for Sunday. I just have to wonder if it will WORK.

DM: Only one way to find out. Let's go to the ring.

**Booker T vs. Buff Bagwell**

Bagwell receives a very pronounced unflattering response from the crowd, while Booker T's music has everyone "raising the roof". The two men tie up in the middle of the ring, and go into some actual wrestling/counter-wrestling maneuvers for the first few minutes of the match. Buff, much like the Guerrero's in the previous match, uses a cheap shot, this time a low blow to gain control. He runs through his usual offense on Booker, but can't pin him for three. He gets frustrated very quickly, and starts complaining to the ref, which gives Booker a chance to recover. He nails Bagwell with a big spinning kick, and then follows up by whipping Buff into the ropes and catching him with a nicely executed spinebuster. Booker continues to dominate Bagwell, not letting Buff get back to his feet. Just when it looks like Booker is going to win the match, the audience’s attention is distracted by Chris Jericho, who comes running down to ringside. In plain sight of the referee, he nails Booker with a dropkick from the top rope, which draws the DQ, giving Booker T the victory.

*Jericho continues his assault, along with Bagwell, as they proceed to beat Booker down for several minutes Just when it looks like they may cause serious injury, the crowds attention is again diverted, this time by young Chris Daniels, who runs down to the ring to a large reaction from the crowd. He uses his own springboard move, a clothesline, to knock out Bagwell, the turns his attention to Jericho. Unfortunately, Jericho moves a little too quickly, and gets out of the ring and down the aisle before Daniels can get to him. Jericho glares at Daniels and Booker T as he slowly backs up to the staging area by the entrance*

(85/83/88; ***1/2)

**Jericho is a SUCKA**

*Booker T isn't ready to let Jericho leave just yet however. He grabs the ring announcer’s mike, again*

Booker T: Wait a minute Jericho. Yeah, you listen up, and listen good punk. You might be able to sneak up from behind and take me down. But this Sunday, at Superbrawl, you gonna have to look me in the eye and try to take me out. And Jericho, you ain't man enough to take me out. And you wanna know why? Cause SUCKA'S can't hang with real men. And if there's one thing you are Jericho, it's a SUCKA. I can't wait til Superbrawl. Cause I'm gonna bring that belt back home where it belongs, right around my waist. And that's a promise, SUCKA.

*Booker T makes a motion to Jericho to come back to the ring and fight it out now, but Jericho simply looks at Booker as he slowly continues to back his way through the curtains and out of sight.*

(86%)

MT: Strong words there from Booker T ,Dave.

DM: Very strong Tenay. But I don't doubt that Booker T is going to do just what he said, and take it right to Chris Jericho. Many people said that their match at last months Genesis PPV was the show stealer, and that way things are shaping up, it could prove to be the same this month.

MT: You might very well be correct Dave. Both men are superb athletes in the prime of their careers. It should be another great matchup. Now coming up next fans, a little change of pace. Our next match features Dean Malenko, "The Man of 1,000 Holds" going up against Alex Wright. Now I know a lot of fans have wondered why Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko haven't been teaming the past few weeks. It's not because they aren't still teammates, but simply put, both men want to try their hands at wrestling single again for a while, and capture some singles gold, BEFORE they come back and dominate the tag ranks.

DM: You know, as you said, this match is a little different style of match than we've seen tonight. But one thing is for sure. Dean Malenko can flat out wrestle. And he's going to get to show his stuff against a man who is not too shabby in his own right, and that's ALEX Wright.

MT: Fans, that match is next!

**Dean Malenko vs. Alex Wright**

Both men enter to respectable reactions, with Wright receiving a fair share of boo's and catcalls. They lock up, and immediately Malenko takes control, taking Wright down with some technical wrestling, slapping on hold after hold, never really letting Wright get to his feet. Wright manages to gain a small advantage when he reverses an attempted Irish whip by Malenko and catches him with a backdrop. He can't capitalize however, and Malenko soon regains the advantage, working over Wright's legs and back, setting him up for the Texas Cloverleaf. HE soon manages to slap the move on in the middle of the ring, leaving Alex Wright no choice but to submit.

*Malenko extends his hand to Wright in a show of sportsmanship as Wright struggles to his feet. But Wright proves to be a poor sport, as he ignores the hand and slaps Malenko hard across the face, before jumping out of the ring, gingerly holding his back and limping slightly*

(66/51/82; **; The crowd was still pumped up from the last match, and so the reaction suffered)

MT: A good clean win for Dean Malenko in that one, Dave. I think he was out to prove a point to everyone in the back, that even on his own, Dean Malenko is NOT someone to be taken lightly.

DM: And I'd say he accomplished just that Alex Wright is no pushover, but Malenko completely dominated him in that match.

MT: Hold on a minute Dave, I've just received word that something is going on in the back. Let's cut back there and see if we can see what's going on...

**Softening up a luchadore**

*We cut to the back, only to find Diamond Dallas Page attacking Rey Mysterio, Jr. using a steel chair to pound Rey into the ground. He hits him form all possible angles with the chair, before picking Rey up and throwing him into the CLANGY POLES~! As Rey lies on the ground, barely moving, DDP picks him up one more time, this time delivering a Diamond Cutter right onto the concrete floor, which knocks Rey completely out. Satisfied with his handiwork, DDP walks away as the medic's arrive to assist Rey.*

(81%)

MT: What a sickening act by DDP. To attack Rey Mysterio, Jr. in the back, after the match Rey had earlier is nothing short of despicable.

DM: Well, once again, you might not agree with the methods DDP is using, but he's certainly doing everything he can to soften Rey up before their match at Superbrawl. And in some way, I can't say I blame him. I mean, after all, that match determines if Rey and Kidman get a shot at the Tag Team Titles. If I was DPP I'd be doing everything I could to make sure that DOESN'T happen.

MT: I still say there’s a right way and a wrong way to go about doing that. And DDP DEFINITELY picked the wrong way. Fans, I apologize for that interruption. We were just about to go back to the ring, for an interview with Bret Hart. AS I'm sure you're all aware, this Sunday, at Superbrawl, Bret Hart will FINALLY step into the ring with Ric Flair. I know I'm not the only one looking forward to that match-up.

DM: No you're not Tenay. I think everyone in this building, as well as everyone watching around the world is anticipating those two legends going at it.

MT: But first, let's hear what Bret Hart has to say.

**Bret Speaks his mind...again**

*Bret Hart makes his way to the ring with a mike in hand, to a huge chorus of boo's form the crowd. He seems not to pay much attention to the fans however, and just looks slightly amused. He raises the mike...*

Bret Hart: Aww come one, how can you boo "The Hitman"? How can you boo "The Best There is, the Best There Was, and the Best There Ever Will Be"? How can you boo me, when this Sunday, I'm gonna give all you people what you wanted to see. I'm gonna give you all a chance to see me an Ric Flair step through these ropes, and finally lock up in the middle of this ring. I mean, I woulda thought that everyone would be HAPPY to see that. Of course, when that match is over, THEN I don't expect much happiness. Because you see, I'm gonna prove to everyone that everything I've said about Ric Flair is true. I'm gonna prove that he's an old, washed up, has been loser, just like all of you. Yeah, and I'm gonna do it in style. I'm gonna put Ric Flair in the Sharpshooter in the middle of this ring, and I'm gonna rock back on it until I feel his arthritic bones snap crackle and pop. And when he has no choice but to submit, I'm gonna grab a camera and focus it right in on his old wrinkled face. I want the whole world to see that Ric Flair doesn't have it anymore. But that's at Superbrawl. Tonight, I've arranged a little warm-up match for Ric. Some of you might already know who it is, but in case you don't, he's a man that, well, let's just say he shares my opinion that Flair is a has been. A man who just recently had the guts to take out his own tag team partner just to prove that he doesn't NEED anybody to help him. So Rick Steiner, come one out here!

*Hart steps out of the ring as Steiner's music starts to play, but doesn't leave the ringside area, instead sitting at the timekeepers table*

(91%; Bret Hart gained overness)

**Rick Steiner vs. Ric Flair**

Steiner enters to a large negative reaction form the crowd. Ric Flair, on the other hand, is greeted by massive cheers, as everyone rises to their feet in anticipation of his entrance. He does not disappoint, as he comes strutting down the aisle in a flashy blue robe. He steps in the ring, and is immediately attacked by Rick Steiner. Steiner proceeds to pummel Flair using his brawling skills, nailing some extremely stiff shots to the head and neck of Flair. Steiner rips the robe off, and then proceeds to use it to choke Flair. As the referee pulls Steiner off, Flair Flops down to the ground. When Steiner goes to pick him up however, Flair show why he's STILL the "Dirtiest Player in the Game" and gives Steiner a low blow to turn the tides. HE takes over with some loud chops, and Steiner's chest is soon red from the blows. He follows up with a nice backdrop suplex, followed by a delayed vertical suplex. Flair then decides that "WHOOO, Now we go to school!” and starts to work on the knee of Steiner. Steiner fights back with some more stiff punches, but misses a Steinerline, and Flair clips the leg again, putting Steiner back down. He tried the Figure Four Leglock, but Steiner pushes him off into the ropes, then manages to rise in time to nail a big powerslam to gain a breather. It's short lived however, as Flair proves he's still in great condition by getting back to his feet just a second after Steiner does, blocking Steiner's punches and responding with some more vicious chops. Steiner swings wildly and misses, allowing Flair to once again dive for the knee This time, he's successful in putting on the Figure Four Leglock, slapping it on and locking it in tight on Steiner. Unfortunately, Flair is very close to the ropes, which allows Bret Hart to sneak close to the apron. As the referee checks to see if Steiner gives up, Hart nails Flair in the head with the US Title, knocking him out. Not wanting the referee to be suspicious, Bret then gives Steiner a shove, turning the Figure Four over. The referee looks down, sees Flair apparently passed out from the "pain", and calls for the bell, giving the win to Rick Steiner.

*Even thought Flair is out, Bret doesn't want to get into the ring, and let's Rick Steiner try to gain some revenge, despite his heavy limp. Steiner's fun is ruined however, when Sting comes running down the aisle and into the ring, causing Steiner to bail out as quickly as he can. He chooses to exit through the crowd, and Sting follows, hot on his heels. Bret Hart just watches, turns and looks at Flair, then walks down the aisle back behind the curtains. He isn't there for long however...*

(80/84/71; ***; Rick Steiner gained overness)

*...As Hart soon comes flying out form backstage, followed closely by none other than Chris Benoit. The fans cheer wildly as Benoit literally kicks Hart's butt all the way down to the ring. As Benoit gets in the ring, Hart tries to slide out the other side, but is caught by Benoit, who starts to deliver his OWN chops and punches. The referee quickly talks to the ring announcer, who seems to be telling him something. Apparently the something convinces him that this has become an official match, as he signals for the bell to ring!*

MT: Fans, I just got word in my headset that Eric Bischoff has made this an official match, and it's for the US Title!

DM: What a surprise, but in this case, I don't mind. Fans, hang on to your hats, this one's gonna be a DOOZY!

**Bret Hart© vs. Chris Benoit; US Title match**

Benoit is still taking care of Hart in the ring, beating him from one ringpost to another, hitting him with chops, stomps, and everything else he can use. This continues for the first several minutes of the match, as Hart can't even catch his breath thanks to the relentless beating Benoit is dishing out. At one point, Benoit almost becomes the new champion, as he catches Hart with a huge German Suplex and holds on for a pin. Hart manages to kick out however, and in fact rolls right out of the ring. Benoit follows, which proves to be a mistake, as Bret is able to dodge his charge, sending Benoit face first into the ring post. Hart rolls back in the ring, thankful for the chance to rest. As Benoit tries to re-enter the ring, Hart catches him with a leg drop to the back of the head. It's now Hart's turn to dominate, which he does primarily by focusing on the lower back and legs of Benoit. He's obviously trying to get him ready for the Sharpshooter, but Benoit won't go easily. He fights out of several Sharpshooter attempts, before Hart finally manages to lock it on. Benoit is too close to the ropes however, and gets his hand out to break the hold, but Bret keeps on the pressure until the referee forces the break. Hart argues with the ref as Benoit recovers, and when Hart goes to pick Benoit up, he is surprised by a small package attempt that almost gives Benoit the win. He kicks out at two, but is stunned enough that Benoit is able to recover. The two men start going fist to fist in the middle of the ring, with Benoit really laying in the chops on Bret's chest. He finally manages to knock Hart back, and follows by whipping him to the ropes, and catching him with a big clothesline. This is followed by a crisp snap suplex, which in turn is followed by a crisp backdrop suplex. With Hart down, Benoit sees his opportunity. He makes the "slashing the throat" gesture, and heads up top for the Diving Headbutt. Before he can hit it however, Hart looks up sees what is coming, and rolls out of the ring. As Benoit drops back down to the mat, Hart goes over and grabs his belt, yelling at the ref to "Count me out! Do your job!". The ref, seeing Hart refuse to get back in the ring, has no choice to start the count. Hart just continues to walk up the aisle, even as Benoit is yelling at him to get back in the ring. The referee reaches the final count, but Bret still does not make a move to the ring. Therefore, the referee finishes the count, giving the win, but not the title, to Chris Benoit!

*As the ref raises Benoit's hand, and the fans boo, Hart walks back through the curtain, with a camera following. Again, he is stopped before he can get too far, this time by his opponent at Superbrawl, Ric Flair, who comes out of nowhere with a bandage on his head and attacks Hart. As the two men scuffle, officials and executives rush to break them apart. This is finally accomplished, but it's obvious that the dislike these two have for each other will be explosive when they finally get in the ring together*

(87/83/92; **** ; US Title gained image)

MT: What a match that was Dave. Both of those men put on a show for us here tonight. I do have say however, that I'm disappointed once again in Bret Hart's actions.

DM: Well, the way I see it, is those two men just put on one of the best matches I've ever seen on free TV. Sure, it would have been great to see a pinfall or submission end the match, but I'm just glad they went at it tonight.

MT: As am I. And I'll tell you one other thing. When Ric Flair and Bret Hart step into the ring, someone is going to get hurt. The intense hatred these two men have for one another is obvious.

DM: I just hope that it's a nice bloody grudge match at Superbrawl, Tenay. These two men certainly seem set on giving it to us.

MT: They certainly do Dave. Well now fans, we come to the last event on our show this evening. Earlier, you saw Kevin Nash request Goldberg's presence in the ring tonight. Well, we're going to find out if Goldberg will trust Nash enough to believe that he really DOES want to "clear the air." Let's go to the ring, now!

**Goldberg and Nash, face to face...**

*The music of the Wolfpac hits, and World Champion Kevin Nash comes strolling out from behind the curtain, wearing the World Title Belt on his shoulder. He has a mike in hand, of course, and makes his way into the ring before speaking*

Kevin Nash: I'm not gonna waste a lot of time here. Goldberg, let's clear this up. Come on down!

*Nash doesn't have long to wait, as Goldberg's music hits to a tremendous roar from the crowd. He makes his way quickly to the ring, and walks right up to Kevin Nash, standing nose to nose with him*

Nash: Nice to see ya out here Billy boy. There's just a few things I wanted to say tonight, like I said, clear the air about a few things. The first is this: I think that you're taking this whole thing between us WAY to personally. Yeah, so I’ve beat the crap out of you a few times. So I stunned you with the taser a few times. So I've taken you out every time we've been in the ring together. So what? Does that mean we can't still be buddies? Compadre's? Amigos? Look, I can see by the look on your face that you don't believe me. So, if it'll make you feel any better, I'll even throw in the fact that you beat me at Genesis. Wait a minute, no you didn't. You beat Scott HALL at Genesis, not me. That's right, it's the other way around. I'VE pinned YOU, but YOU haven't pinned ME. And you know what, now that I think about it...That's still gonna be the case after Superbrawl. And you know why, Billy boy? Because at Superbrawl, I AM going to take things VERY personally. Ya see, this belt is staying on MY shoulder. The only way you're ever gonna get your hands on it, is by doing the impossible. And that's pin me. You might be a big tough guy, but you're not big enough, and you're DAMN sure not tough enough to take me down. So I guess that's really all I called you out here to say Goldberg. Look forward to seeing you Sunday.

*Nash turns as is to go. Goldberg just stands there, staring at Nash. Nash suddenly stops, and turns back to Goldberg*

Nash: Oh wait, there's one more thing I forgot...

*With that, Nash goes to hit Goldberg with the Title Belt. Goldberg however is ready and ducks the shot, nailing Nash with a kick right to the stomach. As Nash doubles over in pain, Goldberg whips him into the ropes, and comes flying off the opposite ropes himself, catching Nash with a HUGE Spear! As Nash writhes on the ground in pain, Goldberg picks him up, and set him up for the Jackhammer! With the crowd going crazy, Goldberg hoists Nash into the air, and brings him crashing down to the mat with the Jackhammer. The crowd counts 1! 2! 3! out loud, and explodes when Goldberg rises to his feet, letting out a roar, feeding off the crowds energy. He walks over to where the World Title belt fell, and picks it up off the ground. He stands over Kevin Nash's fallen body, and holds the Belt high into the air...*

(85%)

MT: What a way to end Nitro! Could this be a preview of Superbrawl? Will Goldberg be able to give Kevin Nash the Jackhammer when it counts the most?

DM: I don't know Tenay, but I do know one thing. I can't WAIT for Sunday to find out!

MT: Fans, we're out of time! Don't forget Thunder this Thursday, and PLEASE don't forget that Superbrawl is this Sunday, only on Pay-Per-View! Good night everybody!

*The final shot of the evening is Goldberg, still standing over Kevin Nash, the World Title Belt held high, soaking in the cheers of the rabid crowd*

Overall: 82

Tuesday, February 23rd, 5 days before WCW Superbrawl:

*I'm lonely. That's right, lonely. You see, Sophie isn't here today. Well, she IS, but that cold that I had not too long ago? Well, apparently she didn't keep QUITE far enough away from me. Now SHE'S got it. So I gave her a few days off NOT what I wanted, especially this close to Superbrawl. Oh well. At least she left me the stat sheet for Nitro. Let's see, whoa...82% approval rating. I think that's the best rating for Nitro in like...EVER. And the TV rating? Hmm, 5.61. That's enough to keep the network off our back. Looks like Sophie left a few notes on here too: "Guerrero/Kidman looking good, Booker and Jericho may steal show again, Hart and Flair have got the crowd in the palm of their hands, and Nash and Goldberg is gonna be huge." I agree with her too. I'm still a little upset though. I wanted to work in the last video segment for our special "debut" wrestler. I think it'll work though, since it's been pretty well built up. And Thunder gets good enough ratings to show it there. I hope that Hak and Bam Bam can live up to expectations. Since that's gonna be the free match it needs to hook people in. I'm confident in them though. Of course, considering I'm talking to myself, maybe my confidence isn't that great a thing. I don't know. All I do know is, I miss Sophie. And since that "Insider" guy canceled on our interview at the last minute last week, I have to go make it up now. Just great. Oh well, hopefully Sophie will be back in just a few days. I never really thought about it before, but MAN she's good to talk to. Better not tell my wife about that thought, though. She just MIGHT not appreciate it.*

Thursday, February 25th, Three day before WCW Superbrawl:

Thunder!

*As we open another edition of Thunder, the usual music and pyrotechnics display kicks us off. From there, instead of heading to the announce booth, we cut straight to a video segment that soon sets the crowd buzzing...*

**We'll know soon**

A video airs, and seems familiar to anyone who's been watching WCW the past few weeks. Clips of various great athletes are shown, demonstrating amazing feats of strength, speed, and endurance. Time after time we are shown men and women doing the near impossible, and the glory and praise that comes from being the best. As these clips swirl in the background, we see some very familiar words fill the screen. "Pride. Honor. Glory. Coming to WCW. Superbrawl."

(93%)

*The last word of the video catches everyone's attention, and the crowd begins to buzz even louder, wondering who the debuting superstar will be. Even out announcers, "Iron" Mike Tenay, and "This is an uncling situation Tony, if ya weeeeeeeelll" Dusty Rhodes are discussing how we will finally get to see just who these video's have been for. They offer some thoughts on who they think it might be, with Dusty of the opinion that it might be his son, Dustin. Tenay graciously avoids comment on that idea, and introduces our first match.*

**Kidman vs. Chavo Guerrero, Jr.**

Tenay informs us that this is a match that Kidman requested in order to prove to Eddie Guerrero that he is a TRUE challenger for the Cruiserweight Title at Superbrawl. He does just that, dominating Chavo throughout the match, hitting several spectacular high-flying moves. However, Eddie comes out to attempt to interfere, and tries to nail Kidman with the Title Belt. Kidman moves however, and it's CHAVO who catches the belt in the head, knocking him out and letting Kidman get the pinfall.

*After the match, Kidman motions for Eddie to get in the ring and go at it right then, but Eddie just reaches in and drags Chavo out, before heading back up the aisle, gesturing at Kidman the entire way*

(75/61/90; **3/4)

Our fearless announcers talk about what just happened, and hype up the match between Eddie and Kidman for the Title at Superbrawl, before throwing us backstage for an interview with The Man Called... Sting!

**Sting's watch says: It's SHOWTIME, folks!**

*We go backstage, where Sting is standing in front of a camera*

Sting: I only asked for this interview time for one reason. And that one reason is to tell you something Rick Steiner. You see, you and me, we go a long, LOOOONG way back man. Heck, we were almost like brothers at one point. But here lately, you've changed, man. As a matter of fact, you're not the same man you were even a few months ago. And the way I see it, is that something, or some BODY, must have gotten into your head and knocked your common sense right out. And the way I figure it, there's no one better to beat some sense back INTO your head, than ME. So at Superbrawl, don't think that just because we're old friends, that I'm gonna take it easy on you. Because, Rick, at Superbrawl, when we get in that ring, you're just another guy, like any other, and you're just an opponent, like any other. And believe me, what I do to you, WON'T be friendly.

(76%)

Rhodes talks about the intense words from sting, and says that he's known both men for many years, and that the match between the two is gonna be physical, intense, and down right nasty. With that, Tenay advises us it's time for out next match.

**Hardcore Hak vs. Kanyon**

The announcers review the problems between Hak and Bam Bam Bigelow, and say that once again this is a match for Hak to "warm up" for his hardcore match with Bam Bam at Superbrawl. The two go at it for several minutes, with Hak using his brawling and Kanyon going for more "innovative" moves. In the end, Hak catches Kanyon coming off the ropes with a Spinebuster(!) and pins him for the 3 count.

*Hak can't celebrate long however, as Bam Bam Bigelow comes running down to ringside. He rolls into the ring and the two men start to brawl, giving the fans a taste of what they can expect at Superbrawl. Eventually, the referee's and officials that come down to the ring are able to separate the two*

(74/66/83; **3/4)

**DDP and The Triad talk and talk**

*As Hak is ushered from ringside, DDP comes walking down the aisle, with a mike in his hand. Apparently he has something to say...*

DDP: Yo yo, I got something to say. (See?) Hak, I hope you enjoyed your career here in WCW. Cause it ends at Superbrawl. Triple B is gonna take you OUT for good in that hardcore match. And as for little Rey Mysterio, Jr.? You think you got the guts to take ME on and beat me? You think that you and your little "partner" Kidman have a PRAYER at beating Kanyon and me? Don't make me laugh. When we get in the ring Sunday, I'm gonna ENJOY taking you apart. And at the end of the match, when I lay in the Diamond Cutter, you'll DEFINITELY FEEL...THE...BANG!

*DDP drops the mike and all three members of The Triad exit to boo's from the crowd*

(72%)

After hyping up both of those matches for Superbrawl, Tenay announce that he is privileged to introduce a true legend in wrestling, and a man who finally gets a chance at retribution this Sunday, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair!

**The Nature Boy talks about respect**

*Ric Flair makes his way to the ring accompanied by his familiar theme music and a huge reaction from the crowd. He steps in the ring with a microphone, and gestures for the fans to calm down. He looks to be very serious*

Ric Flair: Thank you, thank you. I appreciate the overwhelming support that I receive each and every night from all of you. But that's not why I'm out here tonight. You see, I'm out here tonight, to talk about one thing: RESPECT. Respect for a man, respect for a wrestler, respect for this BUSINESS. And Bret Hart, over the course of the past 2 months, you've shown me and this business, NO respect. You've used your mouth, your fists, your belt, even my FRIENDS to try to keep from having to step in the ring with me. But this Sunday, at Superbrawl, in front of THOUSANDS of people in that arena, you're going to HAVE to come face to face with me. And right then and there, in that ring, WHOOOOOOO, I'm going to MAKE you have respect for me. You see, I'm not going to Superbrawl to have a good match. I'm not going to Superbrawl to put on a good show. I'm going to Superbrawl to prove to YOU, to MYSELF, and to the WORLD, that RIC FLAIR is STILL the man, and will always BE the man, WHOOOOO! And there's nothing you can say, and nothing you can do, that will ever change that. You call yourself the "Best there is, Best there Was, Best there ever will be?" Well let me tell you something. Until you can beat Ric Flair in the middle of that ring, until you can pin my shoulders to the mat, until you can make me scream in pain, the only thing you are is the Best that COULD be. Because like I've always said, To be the Man, WHOOOOO, You've got to BEAT the man. And Like I said just a minute ago, I'M...STILL...THE...MAN! WHOOOOOOO! WHOOOOOOOOO!

*Flair continues WHOOOOOing as the crowd erupts in a show of respect for Ric Flair*

(98% ; Ric Flair gained overness)

Tenay and Rhodes talk about what an emotional and heartfelt speech that was, before announcing the final match of the evening.

**Chris Daniels vs. Chris Jericho/Buff Bagwell**

Tenay explains that the reason for the handicap match is that earlier in the day, someone attacked Booker T backstage and left him lying. He was supposed to be Daniels Tag Team partner, but Daniels agreed to a handicap match instead. Both announcers seem to think that Jericho as probably behind the attack on Booker T, in an attempt to soften him up. Jericho all but confirms this when he comes down to the ring holding a dented folding chair and laughing. When all three men are in the ring, the match begins. It's back and forth most of the match, with Daniels holding his own. Jericho and Bagwell prove to be a little too much to handle however, and Jericho also has the Television Title Belt at his disposal. As Bagwell distracts the ref, Jericho nails Daniels in the head with the belt, knocking him out long enough for Bagwell to get the 1-2-3 and the victory.

*Jericho and Bagwell continue to beat on Daniels after the match, with Jericho grabbing a mike and yelling for Booker T to come save Daniels. Of course, Booker T is at the hospital and has no way to save Daniels, so Jericho calls Booker a coward and continues to lay into Daniels with heavy boots and fists.*

(87/83/91; **** )

Tenay announces that was our final match of the evening, and reminds everyone to order WCW Superbrawl this Sunday. He runs down the final card, which reads as follows:

Goldberg vs. Kevin Nash- World Title match

Ric Flair vs. Bret Hart- Match for Respect

Chris Jericho vs. Booker T- Television Title match

Sunday, February 28th:

Superbrawl!

*As the crowd of 15,183 files into the arena, a buzz of anticipation fills the air. Everyone here is ready for the exciting action tonight. Before the start of the Pay-Per-View proper, out ring announcer for this event, Scott Hudson, introduces our Free match, a hardcore match featuring Bam Bam Bigelow taking on Hardcore Hak*

**Hardcore Hak vs. Bam Bam Bigelow; Hardcore match**

Bigelow makes his way to the ring to a decent sized chorus of boo's, dragging a chair along behind him. He gets into the ring and pounds the chair on the mat a few times, obviously ready for Hak. Hak's music begins to play, but Hak does not come out. After a few minutes Bigelow and the fans are all confused, as there seems to be no sign of Hak. Soon the confusion gives way to excitement, at least on the crowds part, as Hak suddenly sneaks out from the crowd with a Singapore Cane in his hand. He rolls into the ring, and taps Bigelow on the shoulder. When Bam Bam turns around, Hak blasts him right between the eyes with the cane, signaling the start of the match.

Hak continues to use the cane liberally on Bigelow's head and back, nailing him with more than a dozen shots. Bam Bam can't fight them off, and is taken down to the mat, where Hak gets a quick 1 count off of a pin. Hak drops his cane, and reaches for the chair, but Bigelow is able to grab his foot and trip him up, causing him to actually fall face first on the chair. Bam Bam gets to his feet before Hak, and grabs the chair for himself. He lines up the shot with Hak's head, and takes him down with one shot. Bigelow then continues on with the punishment, using the chair to not only hit Hak, but also using it for extra impact on some slams and a nice suplex(!). With Hak hurt, Bigelow rolls outside the ring, and looks under the ring for something. He pulls out the object, and it's of course a table. The audience buzz grows as he gets back in the ring with the table, but apparently he took too long, as Hak is up to his feet. Hak nails Bigelow with some right hands, causing him to drop the table. The two men brawl back and forth for the next few minutes using punches and other pure fighting moves. Finally, Bigelow misses with a running clothesline attempt. When he bounces off the ropes he is met by a drop toehold by Hak that puts him down face first on the table. Hak pulls the table out from under Bigelow, and begins to set it up. He then slowly picks up Bigelow and his Cane, nailing Bigelow with the cane until he falls back onto the table.

Hak signals to the crowd, and starts to climb the turnbuckle, appearing to be going to attempt a big move to finish Bigelow off. He never gets the chance to finish his move however, as suddenly ANOTHER figure jumps out of the audience and up onto the apron, holding Hak's foot and not letting him jump. As Hak struggles with the man, who seems to be wearing a hood over his face, Bigelow gets off the table and comes over to the turnbuckle. He grabs Hak, and tosses him off, right through the table. With Hak down, Bigelow covers for the easy 3 count.

*As Bigelow celebrates in the ring, the hooded figure enters the ring itself, picking up Hak, bending down as if talking to him, then kicking him in the stomach and delivering a vicious DDT. As Bigelow laughs at Hak's misfortune, the figure turns and delivers ANOTHER DDT to Bigelow! The crowd reacts in confusion as the hooded man pulls of the hood to reveal...RAVEN! The crowd reacts accordingly to this surprise appearance. Raven has a mike in the pocket of his pants and raises it to speak. He says 'These two men are the first of many. Soon, everyone in WCW will feel my pain. For so it is written, and so it shall come to pass. Quote the Raven, Nevermore..." He makes the crucifix sign, then slides back out of the ring and down the aisle, having made his impact for this evening. *

(74/68/80; **3/4)

*With the Free match over, it's now time to begin the Pay-Per-View proper. It's time to officially begin...*

Superbrawl!

*As the PPV pyrotechnic display explodes overhead and the music blares through the speaker, we are shown a running video clip of small snippets of the events leading up to some of tonight's matches. Of course, we end with Goldberg and Kevin Nash, nose to nose, about to explode. As the video ends, we are taken to ringside with our announcers, Mike Tenay and Dave Meltzer*

Mike Tenay: Good evening fans, and welcome to WCW Superbrawl! Fans, it's an electric atmosphere here tonight, and as you can see, we're already off to a wild evening of WCW action.

Dave Meltzer: Wild might be an understatement Tenay. Not only did we just witness a brutal hardcore match, but the return of none other than Raven! You HAVE to wonder what he was referring to by "Everyone in WCW will feel my pain".

MT: That you do Dave. One thing is for certain, however. Raven may have been the first surprise of the night, but he's not going to be the last. Fans, you've all seen the past few weeks of WCW Television, and you know how high the stakes are for these men here tonight. So without any further wait, let's go to ringside for our first title match of the evening.

**Eddie Guerrero© vs. Kidman; Cruiserweight Title match**

As challenger and champion make their way to the ring, the crowd settles in for a great evening of action. The match begins with the typical fast pace of the cruiserweights, with the two going through a complex series of moves and reversals that end in a standoff. The crowd applauds the effort, as the two go at it again, this time ending when Kidman ducks a Guerrero charge that send him through the ropes to the outside. Kidman follows him out with a pescado that puts both men down on the outside. Kidman recovers first and throws Eddie back inside, before following him back IN with a slingshot legdrop. This only gets a 2 count before Eddie is able to kick out.

Kidman continues to press his advantage, going after Eddie with some high-flying moves, including a nice dropkick and flying headscissors that result in another 2 count. Kidman gets a little too confident however and takes too long to press his advantage, resulting in Eddie being able to recover to his feet and drop Kidman with a dropkick of his own, to Kidman's knee. Kidman drops to the ground clutching his knee in pain, which gives Eddie ample opportunity to recover and go to work on the injury. He uses a variety of submission moves to put pressure on Kidman's leg and knee, almost managing to make Kidman submit several times. Kidman won't give up though, and fights to his feet time and time again, only to be dropped by another Guerrero shot to the knee. Eventually, Eddie feels like he's got the match won, and goes up top for a big move. He misjudges Kidman's will however, and misses an attempted Frog Splash when Kidman rolls out of the way. Eddie hits hard, and seems to have the wind knocked out of him. Both men get to their feet at the same time, and Eddie grabs Kidman's hurt leg again, but Kidman counters with an enziguiri.

It's now Kidman’s turn to press his advantage, which he tries to do. He is not able to utilize any high-flying moves because of his injury, so he is forced to go to more high impact ground based moves, including a nice powerslam that gets him another 2 count. Kidman tries to stand after that, but Eddie grabs the hurt leg again, dragging Kidman back down. Eddie, still holding onto the leg, gets back to his feet and pulls Kidman up with him, giving him a nicely executed dragon screw legwhip. With Kidman again rolling on the mat in pain, Eddie decides it's time once again to finish off Kidman for good. He goes up top, but takes too long and taunts the fans, which allows Kidman to once again rise to his feet. He stops Eddie on the top turnbuckle, then climbs to the top himself, slowly on his bad leg. He looks to be attempting a top rope superplex, but Eddie blocks. The two sway back and forth for a moment, then Eddie suddenly manages to hit Kidman with a low blow. Eddie then steadies himself for a moment, before executing a sunset flip over Kidman and dropping him down to the mat with a MURDERDEATHKILL Powerbomb. Kidman is out, and the pin is academic, and Eddie picks up the pinfall victory.

*After the match is over Eddie grabs his belt and stands over Kidman, taunting him, before spitting on him and leaving to the boo's of the crowd*

(75/73/78; ***; Kidman gained overness from this feud ending Eddie Guerrero gained overness form this feud ending; the Cruiserweight Title gained image)

MT: What a way to "officially" start off Superbrawl! That match had everything you look for in a Cruiserweight Title match Dave.

DM: You're right there Tenay. It had high-flying, it had technical wrestling, it had drama, and it had an amazing finish. That powerbomb Eddie Guerrero gave Kidman could have broken Kidman's back AND neck.

MT: That move is so dangerous when ANYBODY performs it, much less when it's done with that kind of force and momentum. Eddie Guerrero proved to a lot of people that he's a true champion. But you can't look down on Kidman. He gave it everything he had, and truthfully, if Eddie hadn't gone low there at the end, we might be seeing a new Cruiserweight Champion right now.

DM: Yeah, but if ifs, ands, and buts were nuts, we would all have a Merry Christmas.

MT: Where did you come up with THAT?

DM: I don't know Tenay. I heard it from my grandmother I think. That's not important though. What IS important is that our next match is coming up now.

MT: Fans, this features two veterans who used to be close friends in Sting and Rick Steiner. However, Rick Steiner has had a change of attitude as of late. And Sting made the decision that HE'S the one to "bring Rick Steiner back to his senses" so to speak. Fans, this match isn't going to be a technical marvel. It's just gonna be two guys, two former friends, battling it out one on one.

DM: Enough talk Tenay, let's see some ACTION.

**Sting vs. Rick Steiner**

Steiner makes his way to the ring to a pronounced negative reaction from the sellout crowd. As could be expected, everyone erupts when Sting makes his entrance, coming down the aisle slapping hands. Steiner doesn't give Sting much chance to get ready inside the ring though, as he attacks Sting as soon as he step's foot inside the squared circle. He uses some power-based offense, pounding Sting with forearms and punches, before whipping him into the ropes. He tries a back body drop but ducks his head too soon, allowing Sting to kick him right in the chest. It's now Sting's turn to dominate, which he does using some "martial arts" chops and punches, before whipping STEINER into the ropes. He comes off and nails Steiner with a pair of clotheslines, then follows up with a body press of Steiner over his head, sending him crashing hard to the mat. He attempts a pin, but only gets a two count.

Sting continues on offense, dropping Steiner several times with power moves, before sending him into the corner. Sting tries for a Stinger Splash, but misses and nails his head on the ring post, giving Rick Steiner the advantage. Steiner once again goes back to work using his brawling skills, pounding away at Sting's forehead and neck. Steiner again whips Sting into the ropes, and catches him with a big Steinerline, snapping Sting's neck backwards at a high velocity. He then puts a neck vice on Sting, twisting the neck as far as it can go, while the crowd chants Sting's name in an attempt to revive him. It proves to be successful, as Sting is able to fight back to his feet, but is soon dropped again by another clubbing forearm to the back of the head. Steiner goes back to the neck vice, before inexplicably releasing and going for a cover. He only manages a two count, which seems to enrage him. He argues with the referee, giving Sting a chance to get back to his feet. As Steiner turns around Sting catches him with a dropkick right to the chest, which sends him into the ropes. As Steiner bounces off, Sting gives him another running clothesline, then as Steiner rises, yet ANOTHER clothesline. Sting again backs Steiner into the corner, and tries to whip him into the opposite corner, only to have the ship reversed. Steiner charges in, but this time, it's HIS turn to miss, and he runs into the turnbuckle chest first. Sting is quick to capitalize, delivering a Stinger Splash right into Steiner's back, crushing him into the corner. As Steiner staggers backwards, Sting grabs him by the hair, and gives him a Scorpion Deathdrop, covering him for the 1-2-3!

*Sting celebrates in the ring, playing up to the fans. Steiner is not finished however, and manages to crawl to his feet and give Sting a low blow from behind, dropping Sting back down to the mat. Steiner goes up to the top rope and waits for Sting to stand before delivering a Top Rope Steinerdog onto him, leaving him face down and out in the middle of the ring. Steiner leaves as the audience looks on in concern for the fallen Sting.*

(77/81/71; ***)

MT: What a heinous act by Rick Steiner after the match. What has possessed this man to act in this manner?

DM: Tenay, you and lots of other people seem surprised by what Rick Steiner is doing. But I'm not surprised in the least bit. Rick Steiner has always, and I mean ALWAYS had this in him. It just took something like his recent losing streak to fully bring it out.

MT: You may be right Dave, but I still think that it's something beyond the losing streak. I think that someone, somewhere, got into Rick Steiner’s head and convinced him that this is the way to go about getting noticed.

DM: Well, it seems to be working, doesn't it?

MT: I would say so. Now coming up next fans, we have a match with a special stipulation attached to it. Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Kidman were SUPPOSED to receive a shot at the Tag Team Titles several weeks ago. However, thanks to a "mysterious" attack on Kidman that night, DDP and Kanyon received the match, and won the titles. Rey blamed the attack on The Triad, and asked for match against the leader, DDP. The stipulation is this: If Rey Mysterio, Jr. can defeat Diamond Dallas Page tonight, Rey and Kidman WILL receive a shot at the Tag Team Titles tomorrow night on Nitro.

DM: This should be a classic fans. Never mind the size difference, never mind the age difference, never mind any of that. These are two men who flat out know how to perform in the ring, and I can't wait to see it.

MT: Let's head to ringside for that match, now!

**Diamond Dallas Page vs. Rey Mysterio, Jr.**

Rey makes his way ringside to large pop from the crowd, while DDP enters to a large chorus of boo's. He seems to not notice what the people are yelling at him, instead choosing to get in Rey's face and talk trash. Rey talks right back, causing DDP to begin to walk away, only to come back with a right hand to the side of the head, signaling the beginning of the match. DDP Slugs Rey into the ropes, before attempting an Irish whip. Rey reverses however, and catches DDP with a dropkick to the chin, following that up with a flying headscissors and a snap hurricanrana to almost end the match in the opening minute. DDP manages to kick out though, but can't seem to escape from Rey, who uses his quickness and high-flying ability to keep Page off balance. Rey even manages to springboard off the top rope with a cannonball onto DPP, again almost getting a 3 count. However, DDP proves to be resilient, and waits for Rey to make a mistake. This comes when Rey tries for another springboard move, but loses his balance and has to try to steady himself. This gives DDP the chance to catch Rey coming off the rope in position for a powerbomb. He doesn't execute the powerbomb however, but instead walks over closer to the ropes, before throwing Rey OVER his head and throat first onto the ring rope. Rey falls to the ground in obvious pain as DDP goes to work.

He slows the pace down some, using his size and strength advantage to work over Rey and try to wear him down. He even slaps a sleeperhold on Rey at one point, trying to cut off his oxygen and get a victory in as quick a manner as possible. Rey fights out however, by working his way to his feet, then over to the corner, where he uses the turnbuckle to run up and flip over DDP's head, landing on his feet behind Page. Rey runs DDP into the corner and rolls him up from behind, but Page kicks out at 2. The force of the kickout sends Rey headfirst into the corner, giving DDP another breather. This doesn't last long however, as DDP is right back on the attack, working Rey over in the corner with right hands and shoulderblocks, driving his shoulder into Rey's ribcage. DDP pulls Rey out of the corner and slaps on an abdominal stretch, stretching Rey as much as he can. When the referee isn't looking, DDP grabs the top rope for extra leverage, adding that much more pressure to the abdominal stretch. Finally, DDP let's Rey drop, and goes for a pin. Rey manages to kick out, but DDP senses that he has Rey right where he wants him. He goes back to the abdominal stretch, but this time also pounds his fist into Rey's side as he holds him, once again adding an extra element to the pain. Rey begins to fight to get DDP to release the hold, but DDP hangs on. Finally, Rey is able to slip his leg free and get a solid base, and once again uses the ropes to flip over DDP. This time however, Page is ready for him, and spins around fast enough to nail Rey with a big clothesline. DDP looks to finish Rey off, flashing the Diamond Cutter signal, as the crowd grows more and more concerned with Rey's condition. When DDP bends over to pick Rey up, Rey surprises him by small packaging him for a fast 2 count. This stuns DDP long enough for Rey to recover and he begins to fight back against Page, delivering several forearm shivers to the side of DDP's head. Page reverse and attempted Irish whip, and tried to give Rey a toss into the air, only to be caught with a dropkick by Rey on his way back down.

With DDP down, Rey finally has a chance to catch his breath, which he does as quickly as possible. He waits until DDP is back to his feet, and then gives him another dropkick, which knocks him back into the corner. Rey goes over to DDP and struggles to put him up on the turnbuckle, finally managing to do so. He gives DDP one more forearm, before climbing the ropes himself. He signals to the crowd, and then delivers a Top Rope Hurricanrana! DDP is out cold, and Rey is able to stay on tope of him for the 3 count and the victory!

*Rey can't celebrate his victory for very long however, as Kanyon comes running down the aisle and attacks Rey from behind, delivering a beat-down to the already inured Mysterio. DDP, after recovering from the finishing move, joins in, and these two members of The Triad proceed to beat Rey down in the ring for several minutes before a host of officials is able to pull them off of Rey. They leave up the aisle as the officials check to make sure Rey is alright*

(80/74/86; ***1/4)

MT: That's not a good sign for Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Kidman's chance tomorrow night on Nitro. Both men are hurt. You have to wonder if EITHER of them are going to be in any condition to wrestler tomorrow night.

DM: I don't know Tenay. Kidman and Mysterio are both fighters, but I'm not sure they can take The Triad in their weakened condition. I would have to guess that's why The Triad did what they did to Mysterio just now, in order to ensure that he ISN'T in condition to wrestle.

MT: Well, we'll just have to see what happens in this situation tomorrow night on Nitro. But now fans, a moment that I'm sure a lot of you have been anticipating. For the past few weeks, we've been seeing videos on Nitro and Thunder about a new arrival here in WCW. The only problem is, nobody knew who the new arrival is. Well fans, this past Thunder, we saw one last video that stated that the "mystery person" would be appearing here at Superbrawl. We have since learned from Eric Bischoff that not ONLY will the newest addition to the WCW roster be making an appearance, but he will ALSO be WRESTLING here tonight.

DM: Get to the point Tenay, I want to see who this guy is.

MT: Well fans, it's time now to bring out the newest WCW superstar. And I can't wait to see who it is...

**Are those...Gold medals I see around your neck?**

*The lights dim in the arena as the same video we saw on Thunder is aired again, showing various athletes giving their all time and time again. The video ends as before, with one slight difference. The ending words read: Pride. Honor. Glory. The wait is over. The future of WCW has arrived... This seems to be the end, but...with a MASSIVE explosion name fills the screen. The letters form, and as some "Olympic" music fills the arena, they spell out: A N G L E!*

*As some of the audience reacts to this name, an athletic man steps out from between the curtains. More and more people seem to recognize the man, despite this being his first WCW appearance. He makes his way to the ring, and gestures for a mike, which he is soon given. He then raises it, and speaks...*

Kurt Angle: For those of you who may not know who I am, allow me to introduce myself to you. My name is Kurt Angle. *Some of the crowd cheers for this* Sounds like at least SOME of you know why I am. Well, for the rest of you, here's a little background. I was the guy who won the gold medal in amateur wrestling at the 1996 Olympics with a broken neck. I was the guy who was approached by every wrestling organization after that, in hopes that I would sign with them. And I'm the guy, who said no. That's right, I said no. Because you see, I didn't want to dirty my hands with so-called "professional" wrestling. I was a REAL wrestler. And REAL wrestlers don't get involved in the circus that pro wrestling is today. So I turned down all the offers. Until one day, I started thinking. Why not change the way that pro wrestling is done. Why not use MY skills to redefine what pro wrestling could be. So I went to the very top of the list, the World Wrestling Fe...well, I guess I better not finish that. And I signed a contract. A nice juicy contract, with lots of promises about title shots and great opportunity. Well, I was LIED to. I got there, and was told I had to change my "style" to fit in. I thought, isn't that what I was trying to CHANGE? So I stuck it out for a while. But I couldn't compromise my values just for a quick dollar. So when I was offered a chance to leave, I took it. And I came here, to WCW, with the same promises. But you know what? I look around here, and see all of you people, and I think to myself how lucky I am. That's right, I'm lucky. I'm lucky that I didn't sign with WCW first, because after taking one look at all of you, I would probably have quit right then and there.

*The crowd, which to this point had been on Angle's side, slowly begins to turn on him*

Angle: You see, I'm lucky because if I had seen you people first and quit, then I would never get the chance to come out here and show all of you what a TRUE champion and a true WRESTLER is supposed to be. Because believe me, there's NOBODY in WCW who exemplifies Pride, Honor, and Glory like I do. As a matter of fact, there's nobody on this PLANET who demonstrates these qualities the way I do. I mean, come on, look at some of these guys. Goldberg? What a joke. He's an Ultimate Fighting Championship rip off. Chris Benoit? The so-called "best technical wrestler in WCW"? Put him in the ring for 5 minutes with me, and I'll have him tied up in knots so little even the BOY SCOUTS couldn't untie him. Which brings me to my opponent tonight. Now, I know that some of you may not realize this yet, but I am an American Hero. I'm about on level with Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone and Abraham Lincoln, and Bill Clinton. Well, maybe not Clinton, not yet. And if there is one thing that an American Hero is supposed to do, it's defend truth, justice, and the American way. So tonight, I'm gonna start doing that, when I take on a FOREIGNER. That's right, I'm gonna take on someone from...England, right here, tonight. Those tea and crumpet-eating losers need a good tail kicking every now and then. And there's one that needs it more than the rest. So British Bulldog, come on out here. Let's finish this up quick, so I can get out of this place.

*Angle drops the mike as the fans have completely turned on him. They cheer that much louder then for the entrance of Angle's opponent, the British Bulldog*

(84%; Kurt Angle gained overness)

**Kurt Angle vs. British Bulldog**

The match begins as Bulldog gets in the ring. He goes nose to nose with Angle, who doesn't look like he's going to back off. The trade words for a few moments, before locking up. After some shoving back and forth, Angle breaks the lock up by dropping down and flipping Bulldog over in a fireman’s carry. Angle celebrates and taunts the Bulldog, drawing the ire of the fans. The two men lock up again, and again shove each other back and forth. This time, Angle drops and takes Bulldog off his feet with a double leg takedown, once again taunting Bulldog as the fans get on his case. The two look to lock up again, but this time Bulldog is one step ahead of Angle, and ducks the lock up attempt. As Angle turns to see what happened, Bulldog is there with a shot to the jaw with his right hand that send Angle back into the ropes.

Bulldog Irish whips him into the opposite side, before taking Angle up and over with a Back bodydrop. He follows this up with a press slam on Angle, then catches Angle with a boot as he charges in, before picking him up for a Delayed Vertical Suplex. He holds Angle upside down for several seconds, before sending him crashing back down to the mat. Bulldog attempts a cover, but Angle kicks out at 1. Bulldog then goes to a chinlock to try to wear down the Olympic champion. This proves unsuccessful however, as Bulldog is not as skilled on the mat as Angle. Angle works his way out of the chinlock and proceeds to do just what he said he would do, demonstrate some pure wrestling. He uses a variety of amateur style submission holds on the Bulldog, who can't find a way to escape. Bulldog grows frustrated with being wrapped up, and uses a thumb to the eye to Angle to break free, drawing a warning from the referee. It proves unnecessary however, as Angle almost has the match won. As Bulldog tries to recover from the pain in his various body parts, Angle slips in behind him and catches him with a HUGE release German suplex, almost flipping Bulldog onto his stomach. With Bulldog groggy, Angle then comes up behind the Bulldog and delivers what will come to be known as the Olympic Slam, taking Bulldog down hard, before pinning him for his first WCW victory!

*As Angle makes the referee raise his hand, Bulldog slowly struggles to his feet. He walks over to Angle and extends his hand, trying to congratulate Angle on the hard-fought, and clean victory. Angle just looks at him, looks around incredulously at the crowd, turns his back on the Bulldog and walks out*

(82/80/85; ***1/4)

DM: What a mystery superstar THAT turned out to be. And what a debut for Kurt Angle, defeating a much more experienced opponent in the British Bulldog.

MT: You're right Dave, it WAS a very impressive performance from Angle. But I have to question some of his statements and his refusal to accept the Bulldog's congratulations. That's not going to win him many fans here in WCW.

DM: Tenay, I have a feeling that winning fans is not what Kurt Angle is here to do. He's here to win matches yes, and championships, yes, but I don't think he's too concerned about winning friends.

MT: Nevertheless, that debut certainly lived up to all of the hype. And speaking of hype, and of being able to live up to it...

DM: The king of the segue way strikes again...

MT: Our next match is a return bout from last months PPV, Genesis. It was a match that many people felt stole the show, as Chris Jericho defeated Booker T for the Television Title. This past month, Jericho has made Booker T's life a living nightmare. Well tonight, Booker T gets his OWN chance at revenge, as the two men collide, in the ring, next!

**Chris Jericho© vs. Booker T; Television Title match**

Both men make their way to the ring to large, albeit totally OPPOSITE reactions. The action begins fast and furious, with the two exchanging chops and punches in the middle of the ring, before Jericho gets the advantage. He whips Booker into the ropes and tries to come off with a spinning heel kick, but Booker ducks and Jericho lands hard on the mat. Booker gives him a few more chops the whips JERICHO into the ropes, giving him a hard back elbow. Jericho is quickly up, and is even more quickly dropped with another elbow, then another. With Booker T in control, the fans are anticipating a quick finish to the match. However, Booker knows that Jericho is not beaten yet, and goes back to work on him with a series of kicks to the chest and head of Jericho, ending with a big spinning kick that puts Jericho down. Booker attempts to cover, but Jericho is out at 1. Booker bends over to pick Jericho up, but Jericho grabs his tights and pulls Booker down to the ground, before dropping some elbows of his own.

Jericho then takes over with some of his "Japanese" styled offense, keeping Booker on the mat. The advantage doesn't stay with Jericho for long, as he attempts a Lionsault too early and catches Booker T's knees, halting his momentum. Both men get to their feet, and got through a reversal sequence that ends up with Booker T rolling up Jericho from behind. A 2 count follows, as Jericho kicks out, knocking Booker T back into the referee, momentarily dazing him. Jericho seizes the advantage to roll outside and grab his belt, before heading back in and attempting to use it on Booker T. Booker ducks however, and hits Jericho with a Harlem Sidekick, knocking the belt back into Jericho's face. Booker covers, and the ref, who hasn't seen any of this, counts, but Jericho again kicks out at two. Booker goes up top, looking to hit the Missile Dropkick, but cannot connect, as Jericho stumbles to his feet and falls on the ropes, causing Booker to fall and crotch himself on the tope rope. Jericho goes over to Booker and nails him with a few more right hands, before getting on the turnbuckle himself. He cinches Booker T up, and comes off with a superplex that shakes the ring. Jericho rolls over and covers, but this time it's Booker T showing his will to win, as he gets his shoulder up before 3.

Jericho is frustrated, and goes back over to where his belt is laying in the corner. He looks as though he's going to use it on Booker T, but the ref grabs it away, causing Jericho to be distracted from the match. As this happens, Booker rises and catches Jericho with a superkick from behind that knocks him into the referee AGAIN, this time keeping the ref out for a longer period of time. Booker tries to cover Jericho, but of course the ref is out and cannot count the pin. Booker walks over to revive the ref, allowing Jericho to once again grab his Title belt. Booker turns around just in time to avoid being nailed with the belt, and the two men grapple over possession of the Title, before Booker wrenches the belt away from Jericho, accidentally hitting Jericho with the belt as he does so. The referee wakes up in time to see this and calls for the bell, giving Jericho the win by DQ!

*Booker is fuming, and makes the referee watch the replay on the wall of what happened. Seeing the evidence right in front of him, the ref changes his decision. However he only changes it to a DOUBLE DQ, meaning that Jericho STILL retains his title. Booker isn't satisfied with this however, and as Jericho tries to slink away, Booker follows him, catching him in the aisle, and delivering a beating to Jericho all the way to behind the curtain, where they finally disappear from sight...*

(94/92/96; ****1/2 : Television Title gained image)

MT: What a match that was! Both men absolutely gave it their all here tonight.

DM: Yeah, it's just a shame we couldn't have had a winner after that kind of match. The upside is, I feel pretty sure that Jericho and Booker T are going to hook up at LEAST one more time. And when they do, they may even be able to top what we just saw here tonight.

MT: They'll have to go a ways in order to do that Dave. But you're right. Obviously, this match didn't settle the issues between the two men. I just wonder when Booker T is going to get another shot at that Title?

DM: If it's up to Jericho, I would guess no time soon.

MT: You're probably right about that Dave. Now fans, we're coming up to our final two matches of the evening. And this first match is one that I personally have wanted to see for the past few months. Back in January, Ric Flair issued a challenge to Bret Hart. He said he didn't really care if it was for the title, he didn't care when it was, he just wanted a match with The Hitman, to prove that he's still got what it takes in the ring. Ever since then, Bret Hart has been ducking Ric Flair. But tonight, after months of ducking and dodging, Ric Flair will finally get what he wants. He will have Bret Hart, one on one, in the middle of the ring. Fans, these are two of the greatest legends to EVER set foot in the ring. And tonight, we're going to have the privilege of watching them compete against one another.

DM: I have nothing to add to that Tenay. Let's just head to the ring for this classic.

**Bret Hart vs. Ric Flair**

Bret Hart enters to massive boo's from a crowd that is ready to see him "get his" here tonight. The entrance of Ric Flair is suitably dramatic, as the entire crowd rises to their feet as "The Nature Boy" walks the aisle. He acknowledges the cheers of the fans, but seems to be very focused on the man already in the ring. As he enters, the crowd grows quiet in anticipation of what they are about to see. Hart and Flair walk to the center of the ring, and stare each other down. Flair decides to do things like a gentleman, and extends his hand to Hart. Hart looks down at the hand, then reaches up and slaps Flair across the face! Flair holds his hand to his face for a moment, then seems to SNAP and jumps on Hart, nailing him with a flurry of chops and punches as the crowd goes CRAZY. Hart seems caught off guard by the flurry of Flair offense, and quickly bails to the outside. Flair follows him out however, catching him from behind by the hair and sending him back into the ring, where he resumes his offensive onslaught. Flair fights like a man possessed, as he takes it to Hart time and time again, leaving Hart's chest red form the chops that ring around the arena. Hart tries to beg off, but Flair knows better, and follows him in with an elbow to the top of the head. With Hart down, Flair pulls down the kneepad, bounces off the ropes and delivers a picture perfect knee drop right to the Temple of "The Hitman". Flair doesn’t even attempt to cover, instead choosing to go for the leg, trying for the Figure Four right away.

It's too early in the match for that however, and Hart uses his foot to push Flair into the corner, rolling him up from behind for a 2 count. With Flair momentarily stunned, Hart takes control, and immediately goes to some of his tried and true offense to wear down Ric Flair. Hart pays close attention to Flair's back and legs, obviously setting him up for the Sharpshooter, even going so far as to give Flair a backbreaker and just hold across his knee, grinding the knee into the back of Ric Flair. Hart goes up to the second rope for a Driving Elbowdrop, and hits it, getting another 2 count off of the cover. Hart picks Flair up and whips him into the corner, causing Flair to do his patented Flair Flip. However, Flair ducks Bret Hart's attempted clothesline attempt, and actually makes it to the top rope where he comes off with a double axehandle...that hits! Flair uses this opportunity to attempt a cover, but still can't hold Hart down for longer than a two. Flair goes back to work on offense, sending Bret into the opposite corner. He follows Bret in, but Bret gets a foot up, knocking Flair back Hart goes for a clothesline off the second rope, but Flair ducks out of the way Hart manages to land on his feet, however he lands awkwardly, and seems to hurt his leg. The fans immediately begin screaming for the Figure Four, and Flair soon complies, signifying that "NOW...WHOOOOOOO... WE GO TO SCHOOL!"

Flair starts to go to work on Hart's knee and leg, getting him ready for the Figure Four Leglock. He works over the knee with his usual offense that still seems to be very effective. Flair finally signals that he is ready for the Figure Four, and before Hart can do anything to try to stop it, Flair slaps it on. Hart immediately arches up, trying to twist out of the hold, but Flair has it locked in tightly, and Hart cannot escape. Flair puts everything he has into the hold as the fans go crazy, yelling for Hart to submit. Bret won't give up however, and struggles to try to make the ropes. After several seconds off pulling himself across the ring, Hart is finally able to reach the ropes, forcing Ric Flair to break the hold. Hart clutches his knee in pain, as Flair gives the crowd a few more WHOOOOOO's. As Hart stands, flair gets a running start and clips the knee again, taking him right back down. Flair signal for the Figure Four once again, and beings to apply it. As he bends over to lock it in, however, Hart reaches up and punches Flair right in the head, dropping him cold onto the mat. The crowd and referee react in confusion, but the ref has no choice but to count as Hart pins Flair. Despite the crowd begging Flair to get up, his shoulders stay down for the 1-2-3.

*The fans aren't sure what happened at the end of the match, and seem in shock that Ric Flair would lose to something as simple as a punch. The mystery is soon revealed however, as the camera catches Bret Hart sliding something that appears to be brass knuckles into his tights. Hart doesn't let the referee see this of course, and grabs his belt before limping out of the ring and down the aisle, as the fans yell obscenities at him*

(92/98/81; ****1/2; Bret Hart gained overness)

MT: What in the world happened there? Did you see what Bret Hart put in his tights?

DM: Well, I didn't see exactly WHAT it was, but I did see SOMETHING.

MT: What a way to ruin what had been another classic match here at Superbrawl. Those two men were proving why they ARE two of the best ever, and then Bret Hart had to pull something like that. It's despicable.

DM: In this case, I'm forced to agree with you Tenay. Bret Hart didn't need to use a foreign object in order to win. He's a warrior, and can win base don his ability and nothing else. I hate to say this, but I think that it's BRET HART who can't get it done in the ring, at least not against Ric Flair.

MT: You're right Dave. Flair had the match all but won, when Hart pulled that garbage. The only thing I can say fans, is that I hope Eric Bischoff was watching, and gives the fans what they want, and that's another match between these two.

DM: You know something Tenay, I'm a fan. I mean, I'm an announcer too, but I'm also a fan. I think we all are, to some extent. And not only as an announcer, but also AS a fan, I hope, I sincerely hope, that Ric Flair gets another chance in the ring with Bret Hart.

MT: Well spoken Dave. Well now fans, as hard as it may be to move on after what we just witnessed, we've come to and even that's also been building for several months. Ever since he screwed Goldberg out of the World Title at Starrcade, Kevin Nash has done everything he can to avoid having to face Goldberg again. Well tonight, he can't avoid it any longer. Because coming up next, Kevin Nash WILL defend his World Title, in the ring, against GOLDBERG!

DM: I can't wait for this one Tenay. These two men hate each other, and they want to tear each other apart.

MT: And they're going to get their chance, right NOW!

**Kevin Nash© vs. Goldberg; World Championship match**

For once, Goldberg is the first man to enter, bring with him the support of almost every fan in the building. Nash enters to an equally loud negative reaction, and things are finally in place. As Michael Buffer makes the introductions, the crowd seems to grow quiet, ready for the explosion of these two men. As the introduction is completed, the bell rings, and it's time for the match. Both men circle each other for a while, before finally locking up. They push each other back and forth, neither man able to get an advantage, before finally breaking the lock up. Nash raises one hand in the Wolfpac symbol to a chorus of boo's while Goldberg simply looks at the crowd and raises his fist to a HUGE response. Nash charges in while Goldberg looks at the fans and starts to pound away on the back and shoulders of Goldberg. Goldberg shrugs it off, and begins to fight back, using his own punches and forearms to rock Nash backwards, before delivering a kick to the stomach, and grabbing Nash in preparation for a Jackhammer! The audience explodes, thinking they are about to see Goldberg take care of Nash early, but Nash gets some forearm shots into Goldberg's stomach, breaking up the attempt.

Nash pushes Goldberg back in the corner, driving his knee into the stomach of Goldberg. He then nails him with some elbow shots to the head, before setting Goldberg up for the Framed Elbow. He takes too long though, and Goldberg ducks the elbow, delivering his own shots to Nash in the corner, followed by a whip into the opposite corner. Goldberg charges into Nash with a big corner clothesline, then following up with a pin attempt. Nash is out before two however, and actually manages to give Goldberg a shot to the stomach as Goldberg attempts to pick him up, then follows that with his OWN clothesline, this one of the short-arm variety. Nash then begins to methodically pick apart Goldberg with some big offensive moves, including a Snake Eyes in the corner that almost puts Goldberg down for three. After failing to get the win with that move, Nash moves to the back, trying to soften up the challenger for the Jackknife Powerbomb, in hopes of being able to put Goldberg out. Nash goes to the well one too many times, as he attempts to follow a side slam with a big boot, which Goldberg ducks. Goldberg catches Nash with a superkick right as Nash turns back around, which puts him down on the ground. Goldberg moves to the corner and crouches, waiting for Nash to rise. As he does, Goldberg charges in with a Spear attempt, but Nash moves, sending Goldberg head first through the ropes and out onto the floor.

Nash follows him outside, and sends Goldberg into the ring post several times, actually busting Goldberg open in the process. After throwing Goldberg back into the ring, Nash starts to work on the cut, using his fists and elbows to open it even further, causing the blood to flow faster and heavier. Nash picks Goldberg up and looks to be attempting another Snake Eyes, but is not able to complete the move, as Goldberg slides off of Nash's shoulder, sending him into the corner instead. Nash turns around, only to be met by a Goldberg Spear! However, the force of leading with his head causes Goldberg to injure himself on the cut, which prevents him from attempting a Jackhammer or pinfall. Goldberg and Nash both struggle to get to their feet as the referee administers the 10 count, with Nash being the first up. As Goldberg rises Nash charges him and delivers his OWN Spear! The crowd reacts in shock as Nash pins Goldberg for the 1-2-2.999999999 as Goldberg JUST manages to get a shoulder up. Nash looks disgusted at his inability to end the match, and pulls down the straps on his outfit, signifying it's time for the Jackknife Powerbomb. He goes to pick Goldberg up, but Goldberg blocks. Nash tries again to raise Goldberg, but is again blocked. Finally, Nash tries one more time, and this time Goldberg not only blocks, but stands up, flipping Nash over in a back bodydrop. The crowd begins to buzz again as Goldberg gestures for Nash to stand. As he does, Goldberg is there to meet him with a HUGE Spear! The crowd is electric as Goldberg looks around, signaling for his big move, The Jackhammer. He lifts Nash up from the ground, putting him in position, then using all of his strength to lift Nash off the ground into "crash position". Goldberg holds the champion in the air for several seconds, as the fans get ready to explode, before finally bringing Nash crashing down to the ground with a perfect Jackhammer! Goldberg holds onto the cover, and the referee goes down to count the 1-2-3 and give Goldberg the World Title!

*The fans explode as Scott Hudson announces Goldberg as the NEW World Champion. As Nash looks up in disbelief, Goldberg is handed the World Title belt, which he holds high above his head for everyone to see. The fans continue to go crazy as Goldberg poses in the ring, the NEW World Champion at last!*

(83/95/58; ***1/4; World title gained image)

MT: What a moment! What a match! Goldberg is the new World Champion!

DM: What a gutsy performance by both Goldberg AND Kevin Nash. They gave it everything they had, but in the end, only one man can be the victor.

MT: And Tonight, that man, is GOLDBERG! What a night this has been! Fans, we're out of time, don't forget to tune into Nitro tomorrow for the fall out from this super charged event. Good night everybody!

*Our last image as we leave the PPV is of the fans chanting Goldberg's name in unison; his music playing, as he stands in the ring, the Champion!*

Overall: 84(WHOO HOO!!!!! :w00t: )

Monday, March 1st:

*I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Superbrawl is over with, and in my opinion, was a pretty damn good show, top to bottom. I can't WAIT to see the results of the audience polls. Fortunately, Sophie is feeling better, and she's here to give me the (hopefully) good news.*

Sophie: Well, I've got good news, and...

Me: And bad news? Man, I was really hoping to not have to hear anything bad today.

Sophie: You didn't let me finish. I have good new, and even BETTER news. Which do you want, buy rate or approval rating first?

Me: Let's start with buyrate.

Sophie: Well, I only have a preliminary number, but somewhere around 1.40 or so. Still not quite with the WWF, but we're getting closer.

Me: Hey, not bad. And the approval rating...

Sophie: 84%. The best since you took over. And the best in a long, long time for WCW.

Me: Wow. That's even better than I hoped for. I mean, I'm not REALLY surprised. I thought everybody really put everything into last night.

Sophie: Me too. All of the guys worked hard. The booking was well done, in my opinion. And the surprises worked REALLY well. I don't think ANYBODY was expecting Raven.

Me: Yeah, that was kind of a last minute decision. Well not really a DECISION, but there were some problems with his flight, so I wasn't sure if we should go ahead with it last night or not. But I'm glad we did.

Sophie: Yep. And everyone seemed to get into Kurt Angle.

Me: I know. He's just got that "something" that makes him really stand out. I think he's gonna shoot up the ranks REALLY quickly.

Sophie: Well, if last night is a good indication, the fans will be able to either get behind him, or against him in a BIG way.

Me: You're absolutely right. Hey, what about the monthly report?

Sophie: I don't have specific numbers in yet, but I do know we made money, and that SEVERAL of the development and training guys seem to be progressing faster than we expected.

Me: Man, you're just FULL of it today Sophie.

Sophie: Excuse me?

Me: I mean, full of good news today, Sophie.

Sophie: Sorry.

Me: It's ok, I know you're still a little touchy after the "dog thing".

Sophie: I am NOT touchy about the "dog thing". Hey, by the way, is it alright if I take off tomorrow? I need to go get my annual "check-up" with my OBGY...

Me: Take it, take it, take. I don't want details. Just go, and I hope everything is ok.

Sophie: Thanks. I'll have Mindy bring you the stat sheet by. I've got copies of the booking sheet for Nitro ready to be distributed. Unless you need anything else, I'm gonna go pass them out, ok?

Me: Um, sure Sophie. Go ahead. I've got a few things to work on here anyway.

Sophie: Alright, let me know of you need anything.

Me: Oh, I will, believe me. Bye Sophie.

Sophie: Um, bye then.

*Sophie walks out and shuts the door. Mindy's coming? Guess I have a few things to do. Go to the tanning bed, go to the gym, go on a 1 day 50 pound weight loss diet... Yep, I'd say the rest of my day is full...*

** Quick note-Nitro tonight will be written in the "Thunder" style, with the shorter match results. I have to pack to go visit in-laws for the weekend**

Monday march 1st; 1 day after Superbrawl:

Nitro!

*We open with a lengthy video of the events of last night Superbrawl spectacular. Clips of all of the matches are shown, giving the crowd a taste of what happened to entice them to order the replay. As could be expected, the final shot is of Goldberg standing triumphant in the ring, holding HIS World Title belt over his head. We then go to ringside where we are greeted by our announcers, Mike Tenay and Dave Meltzer*

Mike Tenay: Good evening fans, and welcome once again to WCW Monday Nitro. Fans, we're one night removed from one of the most spectacular pay-per-views in WCW history. Superbrawl last night had everything. It had drama, it had excitement, it had great matches, and it had a NEW champion crowned, as Goldberg defeated Kevin Nash to become the NEW World Champion.

Dave Meltzer: Tenay, I hate to say this, but I agree with you. Superbrawl was everything I could have asked for, and MORE. And from what I've seen of tonight’s card, tonight has the potential to be right up there with Superbrawl again.

Mike Tenay: You're right Dave. There's sure to be even more great action here tonight. But first, we're going to show you a special one on one interview that was conducted with Kevin Nash last night, less than an hour after he lost the World Title to Goldberg. Let's go to the video...

**Nash is NOT happy**

*We cut to a video of Kevin Nash, standing somewhere in the back of an arena, talking to an unseen person. He has apparently just been asked how he's feeling*

Kevin Nash: How do I feel? How do I FEEL? Let me ask you something. If YOU had just gotten your butt kicked in front of thousands of people, how would YOU feel? You know what? I'm not gonna sit back here and whine and complain about how I got "screwed" out of my Title. Tonight, I got beat. Plain and simple. I'm not proud to admit it, but it's the truth. But you know what they say, don't you? "The truth will set you free". Well Goldberg, I know the truth. And the truth is, despite the fact you beat me, you're vulnerable. I saw something in that ring tonight. And that was a man. You're not invincible. Yeah, you got lucky tonight and beat me, but that's one night, one time. And the next time we face off, things are gonna be different. And THAT’S a guarantee...

*Nash pushes the mike away and walks off holding his ribs*

(88%)

MT: You know, that's a different side of Kevin Nash than we're used to seeing. He almost seemed...sincere.

DM: I don't know Tenay, but I do know that I wouldn't mind seeing those two get in the ring one more time.

MT: Neither would I. I'm sure that Eric Bischoff has thought of that as well Dave. Now fans, coming up next, we have two of the great young stars in WCW going at it in one on one action, as Chavo Guerrero, Jr. takes on Chris Daniels. Dave, you're thoughts on this match?

DM: Well, as much as I like Chavo, Chris Daniels is one of the fastest rising stars I've EVER seen. It's amazing how much attention he's getting in such a short amount of time.

MT: Well, from what we've seen of him so far, it looks like he should have no trouble living up to his potential. Let's see if he can handle Chavo, next!

**Chris Daniels vs. Chavo Guerrero, Jr.**

Both men enter the ring quickly, with Daniels getting a warm reaction from the crowd. The match is back and forth, with both men having the advantage at various points. In the end, Daniels picks up the win with a Double Underhook Powerbomb, planting Chavo hard on the canvas.

*Daniels slaps hands with the fans on his way up the aisle, while Chavo pitches an absolute fit in the ring, pounding his hands on the mat, and kicking and screaming*

(81/70/92; ***1/4)

MT: Another great performance by Chris Daniels there. He really seems to be poised and relaxed in the ring in a way that belies his youth.

DM: Right. Whatever you said Tenay. All I know is, Daniels is continuing to shoot his way right to the top. I wouldn't be surprised if we seem him with some gold around his waist sometime soon.

MT: I'm looking forward to seeing him get his shot at a title as well. Now fans, coming up next...

**Da Bisch speaks out**

*Once again, Tenay gets interrupted by someone's music. Eric Bischoff steps out onto the stage, holding, as usual, a microphone*

Eric Bischoff: I'm not going to come out here and take up a lot of your time. We have some exciting matches for you the rest of the evening. I've come out here to focus on two men. You see, last night, Chris Jericho defended his Television Title in match against Booker T. That match was one of the best matches I've ever been lucky enough to witness. Unfortunately, we didn't have a winner. Now, I know that all of you were as disappointed as I was in the double disqualification, but the referee's decision is final. Now, what I'm about to say may not make some people very happy. But I can't give Booker T another shot at the Television Title. At least, not right away.*Crowd starts to boo* Now wait a minute, wait a minute, I'm not done. You see, Booker T may be a great wrestler, but there are LOTS of great wrestlers in WCW who deserve a chance for a title. So I've decided that tonight, we're going to have two matches involving the Television Title. The first will be a number one contenders match between the last two men to hold the TV title, as Booker T faces Scott Steiner! The winner will receive a shot at the Title within the next few weeks. Now, the second match is one that, frankly, I'm extremely excited about. I was thinking backstage, who would not only give Jericho a challenge for the Title, but would also be a fighting champion should he happen to win. I needed someone who would represent WCW proudly as a potential Champion. And I needed someone with the skill to take Jericho on in an evenly matched contest. So, I decided that tonight, Chris Jericho WILL defend his Television Title, in the main event, against Chris BENOIT! Ladies and gentlemen, sit back and enjoy the rest of the evening.

*Bischoff turns and walks off the stage, as the crowd cheers in anticipation of the matches that were just announced*

(79%)

MT: A couple of blockbuster announcements by Eric Bischoff there. Two more great matches announced tonight, in addition to what was already on the card.

DM: You know, I have a feeling that we may be seeing one of the all time great episodes of Nitro here tonight. Eric Bischoff just announced two matches that could be main events in ANY arena.

MT: I agree with you there Dave. Fans, we're all looking forward to those matches a little later on. But now, let's discuss something that happened last night. At Superbrawl, we witnessed the debut of a new WCW superstar. For weeks we had been shown video's talking about someone coming to WCW, but had no idea who it might be. Well last night, we found out that the new superstar is none other than Olympic gold medalist, Kurt Angle! Now, Angle made his debut last night by defeating The British Bulldog. But tonight, we're going to find out just how good Kurt Angle REALLY is, as he has to face The Bulldog AGAIN, this time live on Nitro.

DM: Believe me Tenay, Kurt Angle is pretty damn good.

MT: We'll find out, right now!

**Kurt Angle talks a good game...**

*Angle comes down to the ring to a large chorus of boos. He struts around the ring, soaking in the crowd’s reaction, before raising a mike to speak*

Kurt Angle: Well, well, well. I'd like to say it's good to be out here. I really would. But frankly I can't lie that well. You see, I still haven't seen anything in WCW that impresses me. As a matter of fact, I haven't seen anyONE in WCW that impresses me. And certainly, The British Bulldog didn't do ANYTHING last night that impressed me at ALL. I out-wrestler him form one side of the ring to the other. And I'm going to be doing the same thing tonight. Personally, I don't know why Eric Bischoff wanted to give The "Bulldog" another chance to be embarrassed, but I'm more than happy to beat you again. So Bulldog, one more time, come on down here!

*Angle throws down the mike and gestures for the Bulldog. He doesn't have to wait long*

(80%)

**Kurt Angle vs. British Bulldog**

Bulldog makes his way out to a nice pop from the crowd, who would really like to see Angle get his due. Unfortunately for them, like the previous night, Angle used his superior mat wrestling skills to keep Bulldog off balance, although Bulldog did manage to get more offense in than at Superbrawl. In the end though, Angle hits what the announcers dub the Olympic Slam to get the pinfall victory.

*Angle doesn't let Bulldog get to his feet, instead rolling him out of the ring so that he can celebrate alone. The fans reward him with a huge chorus of boos and hisses, although Angle doesn't seem to notice*

(83/80/86; ***1/4)

DM: Well Tenay, I'd say Angle proved just how good he is right there.

MT: You're right Dave. As much as you may not like what he has to say, Kurt Angle can certainly back up his words. Now fans, last night, Eddie Guerrero defeated Kidman to retain his Cruiserweight Title match. Now tonight, he issued an open challenge to anyone in the back who wanted a shot at his Title. And his challenge was answered by one of the very best in the business, Dean Malenko.

DM: Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero have had classic matches all around the world. I have a feeling that tonight isn't going to be any different. These two guys can get it done in every way, whether it's on the ground, through the air, or brawling outside in the aisle.

MT: I have a feeling that Malenko will have to do a little bit of all of that to beat the champion here tonight. Let's see if he has what it takes, in the ring.

**Eddie Guerrero© vs. Dean Malenko**

Both men receive good reactions from the crowd as they entered, and they didn’t' disappoint once inside the ring. They went at it for 15 minutes, with both men having the upper hand at various points. At the 15-minute mark, neither man has been able to pin the other or make him submit. Therefore, the referee has no choice but to call the match a time limit draw.

*Before either man can catch his breath, a figure comes running form the crowd. Everyone buzzes as they realize that it's none other than Raven! He catches Malenko first, kicking him in the stomach and delivering an Evenflow DDT, before turning and delivering the same to Eddie! He rolls back out of the ring and grabs a mike, speaking briefly to the crowd to say; "These men are the latest of the lost souls of WCW to feel my pain. The time is near, for revolution in the extreme. For so it is written, and so it shall come to pass. Quite the Raven, Nevermore." He leaves through the crowd, with both competitors still down in the ring*

(89/83/95; ****; Cruiserweight Title gained image)

MT: What a match that was! And what an appearance by Raven! We saw him last night, and apparently he didn't finish his business last night!

DM: What a match is right Tenay. That's what you call WRESTLING right there, ladies and gentleman. As for Raven, I'm sure that he won't keep quiet for very long. Whatever his business, there's no denying he's made an impact the past two nights.

MT: That's an understatement there Dave. But I have to say, it'll be a difficult task to go after that match that we just witnessed. Coming up next on Nitro, we're going to see that #1 contender match for the Television Title. Booker T defeated Scott Steiner for the Television Title not that long ago. And tonight, one of them will earn the chance to compete against the winner of tonight’s main event for that very same title.

** But First...**

*We cut backstage to where Bret Hart is standing right outside of Ric Flair's dressing room. He gestures for the cameraman to follow him as he opens the door and walks in. Flair is sitting on a chair, looking up at the ceiling. He jumps to his feet as he sees Hart*

Bret Hart: Whoa whoa whoa, cool it there Nature Boy. I'm not here to beat the crap out of you. I already did that enough last night. I just wanted to say, I hope that you got a copy of the video from last night. I want you to watch the match between you and me very closely. Rewind it if you have to. Because that right there proved my point. You can't hang with me in the ring. You don't have it anymore. Actually, I'm not sure that you ever HAD it to begin with. So, I hope that this puts an end to any thoughts you might have had about a re-match. Cause it's NOT gonna happen. Have a good night Ric.

*Flair has been sitting through the entire thing, not saying a word. He stares straight ahead as Hart pats him on the shoulder before walking out*

(80%; Ric Flair lost overness, grr  )

DM: That was...odd. I've never seen Ric Flair act that way before.

MT: Something is definitely going on with Ric Flair. That loss to Bret Hart, regardless of the fact that it was less than fair, seems to have gotten to Ric Flair.

Hopefully he can snap out of it, because I would LOVE to see Ric Flair take on Bret Hart again.

DM: Like I said last night, I'm a fan. And as a fan, I want to see those two men compete again.

MT: I'm with you on that one. Now fans, let's go to ringside for Booker t against Scott Steiner.

**Booker T vs. Scott Steiner**

Booker T receives a very large ovation from the crowd, who also seem to be very opposed to Scott Steiner. The two men have a fairly fast paced power match, with Steiner in particular hitting some big time impact moves. In the end however, Booker T gets the victory when he nails Steiner from off the top rope with a Missile Dropkick.

*As Booker starts to celebrate, none other than Rick Steiner runs down the aisle and into the ring. He nails Booker from behind and starts to beat him down, pummeling Booker until he's laying flat on the canvas. He then picks Booker up, and delivers a HUGE Belly-to-Belly suplex, before quickly jumping back out of the ring. Scott Steiner looks just as confused as everyone else at his brother's actions*

(81/82/82; ***1/4)

MT: What was THAT all about? Rick Steiner had nothing to do with this match, and he came out of NOWHERE with that blindside attack on Booker T.

DM: I don't know Tenay. I told you though, this is the real Rick Steiner we're seeing here. He's finally snapped, and let me tell you this, he's a dangerous man. NO ONE in WCW is safe when he's around.

MT: There's no doubt about that Dave. I just wonder why he chose after this particular match to become involved.

DM: There's no telling. Rick Steiner doesn't think on the same wavelength as everyone else, which makes him even MORE dangerous. There's no telling what's going to come up next with him.

MT: Maybe not with him, but there certainly is with us. Because coming up next fans...

DM: Another good...

MT: I know, another good segue way. Coming up next, The Triad defends their Tag Team Titles against Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr. Rey won this match with The Triad last night at Superbrawl when he defeated Diamond Dallas Page. You have to wonder though, since both Rey and Kidman where pretty banged up last night, what are their chances at defeating the Tag champs?

DM: Maybe not very good. But one thing's for sure. Both men aren't going down without a fight. This should be another great match here fans.

MT: Let's go down to the ring...

**The Triad© vs. Kidman/Rey Mysterio Jr.; Tag Team Title match**

The Triad enters to a negative reaction from the crowd, who seem to be solidly behind Kidman and Rey. They match is dominated for the most part by The Triad, as Kanyon and DDP take advantage of their opponents injuries from the previous night. However, it takes a shot from one of the Tag Team Title belts to finally put down Kidman long enough for DDP to get the pinfall.

*Even though they've won, DDP and Kanyon don't seem content, and proceed to beat down Kidman and Rey even further, using the Title belts on both men, and delivering a Diamond Cutter and Flatliner to each of the challengers. Finally satisfied, The Triad exits the ring, leaving Kidman and Rey in a heap in the center. *

(79/69/89; ***; Tag Team titles gained image)

MT: Well once again, DDP and Kanyon proved what kind of champions they are, as it took a shot from the Tag belt to keep the challengers down.

DM: Again Tenay, I have to disagree. DDP and Kanyon are doing exactly what they need to do. Remember, even if they had been caught, they would STILL keep the titles. Like you said earlier, you might not agree with their methods, but they certainly get results.

MT: They certainly do. Wait just a moment fans. I've just received word that something is happening in the back...

DM: Seems to be going around here lately.

**Bisch gets BEAT**

*We cut to the back, where a cameraman has just arrived to the scene, where we witness Kevin Nash and Eric Bischoff in a heated confrontation.*

Kevin Nash: Damnit Eric, you know I DESERVE a re-match for that title. Goldberg can't beat me twice in a row. Hell, he BARELY beat me once.

Eric Bischoff: Kev, I know what you're saying. And you're right. But I have to think about EVERYONE in the company.

KN: No, you have to think about ME right now. Don't forget Bischoff, I powerbomed your ass through the stage one time. And I'm NOT afraid to do it again.

EB: Look, I'm not gonna stand here and let you try to intimidate me. I have other business to attend to.

KN: Oh really? Well, since I can't intimidate you, maybe I can convince you by PROVING what I can do to you again.

*With that, Nash nails Bischoff with a big right hand, knocking him back against a wall. He then grabs Bischoff and pushes his head between his legs, in position for a Jackknife Powerbomb. He lifts Bischoff up and POWERBOMBS him right through a nearby table! Bischoff looks knocked out, as Nash moves in to inflict more damage. Suddenly, a hand grabs him, spinning him around. And standing there is GOLDBERG! Nash quickly backs away, leaving Goldberg glaring at him, while medical personnel attend to Bischoff. *

(80%)

DM: Well, I don't know if Kevin Nash helped his case by doing that, but he certainly proved to Bischoff that he isn't going to give up on getting back at Goldberg.

MT: You're right Dave. But I think the most telling part of that whole situation was when Goldberg showed up, Kevin Nash backed away. He didn't go after Goldberg. Instead, he chose to run. It seems to me that maybe he ISN'T as anxious to get his hands on Goldberg again as he says.

DM: Whatever the case, I still have a feeling that this is all part of a big plan by Kevin Nash to get his belt back. We'll have to see. But now, it's time for our main event. And what a match this should be. Chris Benoit challenges Chris Jericho for the WCW Television Title. It doesn't get much better than that Tenay.

MT: You're absolutely right Dave. These two men have wrestled each other before, and know each other very well. This should be a case of one man making a mistake, and the other capitalizing on it. Let's get to it, next!

**Chris Jericho© vs. Chris Benoit; Television Title match**

Neither man wastes much time after coming down the ring, instead choosing to go right at it. The fans aretreated to a spectacular match, as the two men give it everything they have, mixing in technical wrestling, brawling, some highflying, not to mention some wicked submission moves. The ending is slightly tainted, as Jericho's recent associate Buff Bagwell sneaks down to ringside and trips Benoit up, allowing Jericho to nail him with a Spinning Heel kick, followed by a Lionsault for the victory!

*Buff gets in the ring to continue the assault with Jericho, but soon has to clear out, as Booker T comes down the aisle to help Benoit out. Together, the two men manage to clear the ring, although Jericho is still taunting both Benoit AND Booker as he walks up the aisle.*

(90/83/98 ; ****; Television Title gained image)

MT: Fans, that was one of the finest professional wrestling matches I have ever seen. It's a shame that it had to be ruined by Bagwell's interference though.

DM: I don't know Tenay, if it means that I get to see Booker and Benoit face off against Jericho and Bagwell at some point, I don't think things are TOO bad.

MT: That's a good point Dave. Well fans, that’s all for us tonight on Nitro. Don't forget to order the replay of Superbrawl to see everything you missed, and please remember to tune in to Thunder, this Thursday night. For Dave Meltzer, I'm Mike Tenay. Good night everybody!

*We close the show with one final look at Booker and Benoit in the ring, playing up to the crowd, who seem to be getting more and more behind the two men*

Tuesday, March 2nd:

*Jubilation is the best way I can describe what I'm feeling right now. Extreme jubilation. The past few nights have been a HUGE relief to me. And to make things even better, Sophie decided NOT to take off, rescheduling for next week instead. Of course, that means I don't get to see Mindy today, but it ALSO gives me another week to shape up. Of course, my WIFE might start to wonder why I became a fitness buff all of a sudden, but I'll tell her the truth. Yeah, right. But hey, I know nothing will happen. OK, stop that, gotta focus. I can't wait to see what Sophie has to say...*

Sophie: Well, I got the stat sheet in for Nitro...

*As she says this, she seems to...droop? Oh PLEASE tell me that something wasn't wrong with last night...*

Me: And? What did everyone think? What did YOU think?

Sophie: Me personally? I thought it was one of the best nights of pure wrestling I've ever seen on free TV. Everyone was ON last night, and it really showed in the ring.

Me: Why do I sense a "But", at the end of that statement? Come one, what was the approval rating?

Sophie: Well, it was... *smiling suddenly* 83%! Congratulations!

Me: Don't scare me like that again. Whoa, 83% huh? I knew the show was good, but I had no IDEA that so many people would agree with me.

Sophie: Well, apparently they do. And there's more good news. We scored a 6.08 television rating. The network was, let's just say...pleased with that one.

Me: Man, this is even better. You see, I TOLD you that the network would eventually get off our back.

Sophie: Good thing you were right, since Fox turned us down again. Personally, I think they're waiting to see who's going to win the wrestling "war" before they commit to air ANY wrestling show.

Me: Hmm, you may be right. But hey, if we're pulling in that kind of rating here, with a few more months, we may BE the "winner". So Sophie, tell me honestly, what did you think of the way the show was laid out last night?

Sophie: Like I said, I think that the wrestling was top notch. I think we can focus even MORE on the in-ring action, if it's going to get us that kind of reaction.

Me: You know, I agree with you. I mean, I know the backstage stuff is important to, but maybe putting even MORE focus on the wrestling wouldn't be a bad idea. I mean though, it's not like we're not having a ton of in ring stuff as it is, but if the crowd will get behind it, I'll give them what they want.

Sophie: I think that's probably the best way to go. And of course, we've got the guys that can get it done in the ring.

Me: You can say that again. I thought that Benoit and Jericho REALLY tore the house down last night. As well as Dean and Eddie. And Daniels and Chavo. Heck, and Booker T and Scott Steiner. And...

Sophie: I get the picture, and I think you're right. All of the guys did great. And I have to say, I think they enjoyed knowing we're back in the race for the number 1 spot. They seem to be responding well to your ideas.

Me: Great. No morale problems?

Sophie: Well no, except for one.

Me: Let me guess. Savage?

Sophie: You got it. He's really upset that you haven't used him like he thinks he should be.

Me: Well, I can see his point of view. But Sophie, I'm not gonna throw him out on TV just to make him happy. I don't have anything for him right now, and I've TRIED to explain that to him. I guess maybe he didn't listen though.

Sophie: Maybe not, but I still think it's a situation that needs to be addressed. I mean, we ARE paying him a lot of money to be sitting around and not doing anything.

Me: I know, I know, and you're right. It's just hard to handle these situations. Give me a few days and I'll figure out what to do with him.

Sophie: Ok, but don't forget, you ALSO have to decide on that OTHER, BIGGER project. Mr. Turner said he respects your opinion on this matter enough that he won't make the decision without your advice.

Me: Thanks for reminding me. It's SO hard to remember those things when he keeps leaving voice mails for me all day.

Sophie: Well, you don't have to snap. Just trying to do my job.

Me: I know Sophie. I'm sorry. It's just, that could be a HUGE event for WCW. I want to make sure that I can do something of that magnitude justice before we pull the trigger.

Sophie: Apology accepted. And I know what you must be going through. But the bright side is, you DON'T have to decide right this minute. And since you already gave me the booking sheet for Thunder, I can go pass them out and leave you alone to think.

Me: Yeah, that might be the best thing for me right now. Just to sit and think for a while. If you don't mind Sophie, tell my secretary Ann that I don't want any calls for a while, unless it's you or my wife. And ESPECIALLY don't let that "Insider" guy through.

Sophie: *Laughing* Gotcha. Anything else?

Me: I think that's all for now Sophie. Thanks a bunch. Made my day a lot brighter to hear that you agree with what I was thinking.

Sophie: I know. It's always nice to hear that someone with intelligence agrees with you.

Me: Umm, yeah, that's what I meant too. Kidding, kidding. Thanks again Sophie.

Sophie: No problem.

*She goes out and shuts the door, and once again, I'm alone. I can't seem to decide what to do about this situation. This is literally something that could change the course of WCW forever. But I don't know if I'm up to the challenge of doing this right now. Maybe the best thing to do is to just sit down, write out all of the pro's and con's and go from there. And pray that either way I go turns out for the best. Yeah, lotsa prayer is definitely needed here today...*

Thursday, March 4th:

Thunder!

*The pyro explodes and the crowd roars as another edition of WCW Thunder is underway! We are immediately taken to ringside for our first contest, without even checking in with our announcers*

**But Before That Can Happen...**

*We hear the music of the newest WCW Superstar, Kurt Angle, as he makes his way to the ring. He carries a mike, and looks as if he has something on his mind*

Kurt Angle: OK people, hold it down, hold it down. I know that you're all excited about finally seeing someone with true GREATNESS open up one of these shows, but try to contain yourselves. Because tonight, I'm kinda ticked... no, wait a minute. I'm VERY PISSED off. You see, after my debut match at Superbrawl, in which I beat the British Bulldog, and after my first ever match on Nitro, in which I AGAIN beat the Bulldog I figured that on Thunder, I would be given the chance to wrestle against somebody with some REAL ability. Not this punching and kicking crap that seems to be most of these "wrestlers" strong suits. But instead, who was I given to wrestle? A Louisiana Cajun FREAK with long sideburns, who probably doesn't even know a wristlock from a wristwatch. It's pathetic, that out of all of the great athletes in the world, out of all of the truly talented WRESTLERS in the world, that WCW has to stoop down and employ losers like the Bulldog and this Lash LeRoux guy. Well, let me tell all of you something. I came here for a reason. And it's not to wrestle in the opening match. No, I came here to show you people something you've never seen before. A total, complete, pure, WRESTLER. Notice I didn't say "Sports Entertainer"? Because I'm not. I'm a wrestler, and damn good at it too. So bring this Lash LeRoux guy down here, so I can prove again that everything I say is true.

(84%)

**Kurt Angle vs. Lash LeRoux**

Lash quickly makes his way down to ringside, not even pausing to slap hands with the fans. The two men go at it quickly, but Angle soon proves a man of his word, taking Lash down with some smooth technical wrestling, and keeping him there. After a few minutes of torture on the mat, Lash is easy picking for an Olympic Slam, giving Angle the pinfall.

*As LeRoux struggles to get to his feet, Angle calls for a mike. He looks down at LeRoux and says, "Nothing personal. I'm just better than you." As the crowd boos, Angle leaves with a big smile on his face*

(66/68/80; **)

With that done, we finally go to our announcers, Mike Tenay and "The Bull of the yada yada yada, if ya weeeeeeeelllll" Dusty Rhodes. They talk about the impact Kurt Angle has already made in WCW, although neither likes the attitude Angle seems to have. They run down the card for the evening, noting that the Eddie Guerrero-Juventud Guerrera Cruiserweight Title match will not take place, as Juventud had a family emergency. They announce that they match will be rescheduled, and will now take place on next Monday's Nitro. With that out of the way, it's time for our next match.

**Chris Daniels vs. Tajiri**

As the men make their way to ringside, Tenay and Rhodes hype up Daniels and his great potential, also mentioning that Tajiri and Daniels debuted in WCW at the same time. The match is a fast paced back and forth affair, with Tajiri managing to hold his own with Daniels. In the end however, Daniels catches Tajiri coming off the top rope with a dropkick to the stomach, allowing him to hit his Double Underhook Powerbomb for the victory.

*Daniels offers a hand to Tajiri, only to have Green Mist spit in his face. Tajiri follows this up with a brutal kick to the head, leaving Daniels down and out on the mat*

(71/66/93; **1/2)

Tenay and Rhodes both express their disgust at Tajiri's actions after the match, while also praising what went on DURING the match. They then segue into what happened to Eric Bischoff this past Nitro, and announce that coming up next, we have a interview shot live from the hospital room where Eric Bischoff has been staying while recovering from the brutal attack.

**Bischoff is just a leeeeetle bit angry**

*We cut to a hospital room, where Eric Bischoff sits, looking bruised and battered still, even three days after the attack by Kevin Nash. He speaks...*

Eric Bischoff: I want everyone to take a good look at me. You see these bruises? These cuts? These stitches? These injuries are all the result of one man and his enormous ego and even MORE enormous jealousy. You see, Kevin Nash is a big man. And he's a strong man. He threw me through that table on Nitro like it was nothing. But you see, there's one thing that Kevin Nash obviously forgot. He may have hurt me, but I'm still alive. And if I'm still alive, then I can still make decisions regarding WCW. So tonight, form this hospital bed, I am inviting...No wait, I am ORDERING Kevin Nash to be at the arena for Nitro on Monday, where I’ll have a big surprise for him. So until then, Nash, I'm gonna let you sweat. Because believe me, for you, for the fans, and especially for me, this surprise is worth the wait. I'll see ya Monday, "Kev".

(86%)

The announcers wonder aloud as to what Bischoff's surprise could possibly be? Tenay reminds everyone that the only way to find out is to tune into Nitro and se it happen live. Dusty interrupts him (if ya weeeeeeel) to introduce the next match-up.

**Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Hardcore Hak; Hardcore match**

Tenay reminds everyone that this is a rematch from Superbrawl, right down to the hardcore stipulation. Both men use everything they can lay their hands on to try to knock the other man out, brawling all over the ring and the ringside area. Just when it looks like Hak might win however, RAVEN jumps out from the crowd AGAIN, hitting Hak from behind with a chair, before giving him an Evenflow DDT. Even though the ref saw the whole thing, the hardcore stipulation prevents him from doing anything more than counting Bigelow's pinfall, giving him the victory.

*Obviously worried about retribution, Bigelow hightails it up the aisle. Raven stands over Hak for a moment, waiting for him to rise to his feet, before delivering ANOTHER Evenflow DDT. He makes the "Raven Cross" sign, and leaves to boos through the crowd.*

(66/68/81; **)

After a brief discussion concerning Raven's actions since returning to WCW, the announcers throw us backstage, where the World Champion is behind the mike.

**Goldberg speaks out**

*We go backstage where a very nervous looking Scott Hudson stands hold a mike up to Goldberg. He asks him in a trembling voice why he requested this interview*

Goldberg: Why did I ask for this interview? Heh, that's a good question. I asked for this interview, cause I wanted to say one thing. And it's directed at Kevin Nash. You see, this past Monday, Nash attacked Eric Bischoff and beat him up pretty bad. But you know something funny? As soon as I showed up, Nash turned his tail and ran. Pretty funny, dontcha think? So Nash, I only have one thing to say to you right now. Kevin Nash: YOU'RE NEXT!

*Goldberg pushes the mike away, and leaves, as Scott Hudson manages to finally relax*

(89%)

Tenay says that Nash needs to watch out on Monday, since the surprise could very well be Goldberg! He then throws it back to the ring for our next to last match.

**Kanyon vs. Kidman**

Tenay informs everyone that Kidman asked for this match to get some revenge at The Triad. The two men go at each other with a vengeance, each hitting big move after big move. Eventually, Kidman is able to reverse Kanyon's attempted powerbomb (You Can't Powerbomb Kidman!) and go up top to hit the Shooting Star Press for the victory.

*Kidman doesn't get long to celebrate, as Diamond Dallas Page comes out and attacks Kidman as he walks back up the aisle, nailing him with a Diamond Cutter right on the stage! Page looks down and just laughs at Kidman before giving one last kick and walking back behind the curtain*

(68/66/86; **1/2)

Tenay and Rhodes briefly go over what happened in the previous match, before informing everyone that the main event is next!

**Booker T/Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho/Buff Bagwell**

As all four men make their way down to the ring, our announcers fill everybody in on what happened on Nitro to bring this match about. As could be expected, the action is fast and furious in this match, with all four men doing their best to try to get the victory. In the end, it comes down to Jericho trying for a dropkick from the top rope onto Benoit, only to have Benoit move and let Jericho hit Bagwell. Booker T, who was the legal man along with Jericho, catches Jericho as he rises with a big Ax Kick, before pinning him for the 1-2-3!

*The action doesn't end with the bell however, as the 4 continue to go at it brawling back into the aisle*

(79/83/93; ***)

As the brawling continues right up the aisle, Mike Tenay reminds us not to miss Nitro, and wishes everyone a good evening.

Friday, March 5th:

*Well, it was bound to happen sometime. After the past couple of shows being so consistently great, we were due for a slightly down night. And last night was it. Not that it was a BAD show. In fact, most of the matches went pretty well. Just didn't seem to have the "WOW" factor of Superbrawl and Nitro. But that's ok. Sometimes you need a show like this. I hope that the approval rating and TV rating didn't suffer TOO much. Only one-way to find out, I suppose...*

Me: So?

Sophie: So what?

Me: So how did we do last night?

Sophie: Well, if you mean ratings wise, not too bad. Approval rating, not too bad. And really, overall, I didn't think it was quite up to the level of Superbrawl or Nitro, but it was pretty solid overall. Which do you want first, approval or TV rating?

Me: Go with approval rating, I guess.

Sophie: Well, we scored a 76% rating. Not too bad considering we didn't have some of the "big names" on the show. And, since I know you're going to ask, the TV rating was up. We got a 1.99. 7538 people in attendance. And most of them were happy, so I'd day that's a good sign.

Me: Hey, not too shabby. I was kind of worried about Thunder this week. How did you think it went?

Sophie: Well, everyone worked really hard. And most of the matches were good. Something just seemed a little, "off". But nothing too major.

Me: That's what I was thinking. But hey, it was still a good show. And it's still getting us closer to the WWF.

Sophie: And more importantly, it's better than it used to be.

Me: Very true. At least, I hope so. I'm trying to do things a little different from how they USED to be done. Let me ask you this, what do you think of Angle? The reason I ask is that I heard some grumbling from some of our "veteran" workers that they're worried that him and a few other young guys, like Daniels, might be pushed too fast and get over on them.

Sophie: I think they have good reason to be concerned. Chris Daniels, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, all of those guys are the future of the business. And personally, I think you're doing a good job of building them up as such.

Me: Thanks for that vote of confidence.

Sophie: Not that I don't think there are some things that could be done differently.

Me: Oh really? Like what?

Sophie: Well, specifically Kurt Angle. I think that we might be relying too heavily on the character that he brought over from that OTHER companies development system. Don't you think we need to branch his character out some more?

Me: Well, you may be right. In fact, I had already thought of that. And I also think that, by pushing him more as the "wrestling" guy and not the "Olympic" guy, we can use him to his full potential HERE, and not rely on what he was being prepped for in that OTHER company. Does that make sense at all?

Sophie: I guess so. Just, I think we should have some more ideas for him, just in case.

Me: Fair enough. I'll work on some back up plans for him. Anything else?

Sophie: I think that covers it. Don't forget, I'll need Nitro booking sheet by tomorrow to get it distributed to everyone.

Me: And you'll have it. I'm just putting the finishing touches on it now.

Sophie: Sounds good. Let me run, I need to meet with the production guys. I'll drop by later for the booking sheet.

Me: It'll be ready.

Sophie: Ok. See you then.

Me: Bye.

*As she exits, I realize that we haven't really disagreed about how to handle a worker before. Makes me wonder if this will affect our working relationship. I hope not. I just think that Angle's character needs tweaking, not a complete overhaul. At least we didn't get into the huge decision I still have to make. I just don't know what to do about it. Maybe if I just sit and think, something will come to me. Just sit quietly and relax, and think. zzzzzzzzzzzzz*

Monday, March 8th:

Nitro!

*As the show begins, we are treated once again to a video package highlighting the events of last weeks show, featuring everything form the great pure wrestling action, all the way to the brutal attack by Kevin Nash on Eric Bischoff. We are then shown how Nash quickly left the scene when World Champion Goldberg showed up, as well as a scene from Thunder, with Bischoff announcing that he has a "surprise" for Kevin Nash on Nitro. The video closes with a shot of Bischoff standing next to Nash, with a ? superimposed over the top...*

*BOOM goes the pyro as the 7,542 fans in attendance rise to their feet and get ready for more great WCW action. We are taken to ringside with our announcers, Mike Tenay and Dave Meltzer*

Mike Tenay: Good evening everybody, and welcome once again to WCW Monday Nitro! Fans, we have a great show for you this evening, and I'm sure my broadcast partner, Dave Meltzer, would agree. Dave?

Dave Meltzer: Tenay, the wrestling world is buzzing over the surprise that Eric Bischoff has for Kevin Nash. Speculation has ranged from a surprise opponent for "Big Sexy" all the way to a suspension or even a firing for the former World Champion. Personally, I can't wait to find out what Bischoff has up his sleeve.

MT: Neither can I Dave. But before any of that, we have some great matches lined up for you this evening. Juventud Guerrero will finally get his shot at the Cruiserweight Title against Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit will take on Buff Bagwell, Kurt Angle and Konnan, the list goes on.

DM: And of course, our big main event, as Goldberg makes his first title defense against a man who, quite frankly, is capable of taking that title away from Goldberg here tonight, Scott Steiner.

MT: That should be a physical, intense matchup for sure Dave. But coming up first fans, we're going to see some great cruiserweight action. As most of you who watched Thunder know, Juventud Guerrera had an emergency that made it necessary to miss this past weeks Thunder. Because of the nature of the emergency, Eric Bischoff agreed to reschedule his shot at the Cruiserweight championship, and we've got that match here, tonight!

DM: Tonight nothing, Tenay, we've got that match right NOW!

**Eddie Guerrero© vs. Juventud Guerrera; Cruiserweight Title match**

Juvi quickly makes his way to the ring, obviously ready to get the match underway. However, the champion Eddie Guerrero takes his time heading down to ringside, pausing to "chat" with the fans that respond by jeering at him. Juvi gets anxious, and soon can't wait any longer. He gets a running start and comes flying out of the ring, nailing a Tope Con Hilo onto Eddie out on the floor! He throws Eddie back in the ring and attempts a cover, but Eddie manages to kick out. Juvi tries to press his advantage, controlling the first several minutes of the match with some crisp high-flying offense, including a spinning heel kick that almost takes Eddie's head off. Eddie does manage to fight back however, using a thumb to the eyes to halt Juvi's momentum. Eddie can't keep the advantage for long however, as Juvi keeps fighting back, causing Eddie to have to retreat several times outside of the ring. The momentum switches back and forth between the two men for the next several minutes, with the crowd getting more and more into the action. Finally, Juvi drops Eddie with a kick to the stomach, followed up by a big powerbomb, and decides to go up top for a big finishing move. Eddie struggles to his feet, only to be met with a flying crossbody from the top rope. Juvi lands hard on Eddie, but Eddie uses Juvi's momentum to roll through on top of Juvi, grabbing a handful of tights for the pinfall!

*As Juvi complains to the referee about the pulling of the tights, Eddie sneaks outside the ring and grabs his Title belt. He rolls back in and blast Juvi in the back of the head with the belt, knocking him out cold. Before he can continue his assault, Dean Malenko makes an appearance, running down the aisle to chase Eddie out of the ring. Eddie doesn't leave ringside however, instead grabbing a mike...*

(81/80/83; ***1/4; Cruiserweight Title gained image)

**Listen up essa**

*Eddie raises the mike to speak*

Eddie Guerrero: What the hell do you think you're doing essa? Huh? What business do you have coming down here and trying to attack me, huh? Listen man, I already BEAT you once. You think that just cause you come running down here, that you're gonna get another shot at MY title? I don't THINK so essa. Malenko, you're YESTERDAY'S news to me. I beat you once, end of story. And let me tell you one more thing, essa. If you ever, EVER stick your nose into MY business again, I'm gonna give you the same thing he just got. Except I'm gonna do it until you BLEED, essa...

*Eddie throws down the mike, and leaves up the aisle, ignoring Malenko, who is holding the ropes open in an invitation for Eddie to come back in the ring*

(92%; Eddie Guerrero gained overness)

DM: I have to second Eddie Guerrero there. What WAS Dean Malenko doing coming down to the ring. Dean lost to Eddie, but that doesn't give him the right to interfere in Eddie's business.

MT: I don't think Dean Malenko was interfering in Eddie's "business" as much as he was saving Juventud Guerrera from an unjustified beating at the hands of the Cruiserweight Champion.

DM: All I know is, Eddie Guerrero doesn't take kindly to stopping him from doing what he wants to do. Dean Malenko needs to be on his guard from this point forward.

MT: You may be right Dave. But I also think Eddie Guerrero needs to be on HIS guard, now that he knows that SOMEBODY is watching what he's doing. Nevertheless fans, coming up next, we're going to see recent WCW arrival Kurt Angle, as he takes on a man who hasn't been seen much on WCW Television lately, Konnan. Konnan has actually been overseas competing in Japan for the past several months, with only 1 appearance I believe in WCW.

DM: As far as I'm concerned, Konnan is doing the right thing by staying away from WCW. I have respect for what he can do in the ring, but I just don't like the guy's attitude OUTSIDE the ring.

MT: Well, like it or not, he's taking on Kurt Angle, NEXT.

**But first, Angle...speaks?**

*The music for Kurt Angle hits, and he comes out to loud booing from the crowd. He seems to be holding his throat, and in fact, he's motioning Scott Hudson down to the ring as well? Hudson gets in the ring with Angle, who gestures for Hudson to read whatever is printed on a small white card in his hand.*

Scott Hudson: Um, ladies and gentlemen, Kurt Angle has asked me to read this prepared statement. I quote, "To all of my many fans, my sincere apologies. Because of a recent speaking engagement gone wrong (?), I have laryngitis and will be unable to speak to you myself this evening. However, this is just as well, seeing as how most you would not be able to understand the words I use, thanks to your lack of breeding and education. With that said, bring out my opponent, so that I can show you people, once again, that I AM the best pure wrestler in WCW, bar none.

*As Hudson looks disgusted and leaves, Angle waves to the fans in mock apology, seeming not to notice the huge amount of boos directed his way*

(91%; Kurt Angle gained overness)

MT: What a disgraceful way of treating the fans exhibited by Kurt Angle there.

DM: Hey, if he has laryngitis, he has laryngitis. Believe me, I've had it before, and it's no picnic.

MT: Be that as it may, I just hope that nothing ELSE is wrong with him, as next he faces Konnan. Fans, let's go BACK to ringside...

**Kurt Angle vs. Konnan**

With Angle already in the ring soaking up the boos from the crowd, Konnan enters to a large pop, ready to get the match underway. The two lock up, with Angle using his amateur skills to take Konnan down. Another lockup produces similar results, as does another. Konnan becomes frustrated with this, and goes after Angle with some brawling, using his fists and feet to try to beat Angle down. This strategy works for the first few minutes, allowing Konnan to get a few 2 counts on Angle. Finally, Angle decides that he's had enough, and uses his superior wrestling skills to take Konnan down to the mat. Angle proceeds to put Konnan in a variety of submission holds, including Konnan's own Tequila Sunrise! Konnan won't give up however, and tries to fight back, only to be taken down again with a double leg sweep by the Olympic champion. With Konnan winded, Angle is able to finish him off with his patented Olympic Slam, pinning Konnan for the 3 count.

*Konnan attempts to shake Angle's hand after finally getting back to his feet. Angle just stares at him, before gesturing for Scott Hudson yet again. After Hudson re-enters the ring, Angle gestures for him to read a statement on the back of the same card as before. Hudson reads the words; "Nothing personal. I'm just better than you." Angle leaves to yet more boos from the packed crowd.*

(80/79/82; ***)

MT: I think that says everything that needs to be said about Kurt Angle right there Dave. After Konnan offered his hand in congratulations, Angle comes back with something like that. That's as good an example of bad sportsmanship as I've seen in quite some time.

DM: Well, look at it this way Tenay. It's like I always say, you might not agree with the WAY Angle does things, but you can't deny the results that he's had. I think it's safe to say that we're going to be seeing a lot of Kurt Angle in the future. And form the look of things, we're going to be seeing a lot of WINNING form Kurt Angle in the future.

MT: Dave, you're probably right. But I just can't help but think how much better things might be for Angle if he didn't seem to go out of his way to humiliate his defeated opponents. Now fans, coming up next, we're going to have a special interview with a man who, since his recent return to WCW, has made quite an impact. And that man is Raven.

**Quote the Raven**

*We cut to a darkened room, the only light from a small coal oil lamp in the corner, with the hunched over figure of Raven sitting on a table. Without raising his head, Raven begins to speak*

Raven: They said I was no good. They said that I was worthless. Everyone told me that I would never be anything in this world. I was an outcast, alone, with no one to help me. I drifted in the void of my own nightmare, afraid to reach out for the light, not knowing what my hand would draw back. I began my chosen profession to release the anguish and hatred within me, but soon found that my pain, my turmoil, my very SOUL was being kept under lock and key. Until one man, one man allowed me to release my torment on the world. One man allowed me to release my hatred on those around me. One man told me to use my pain as a weapon against others. At that time, I knew what happiness was. I knew what joy was. But it was all taken from me too soon, and I was left alone again, unable to release my pain. Until now. For soon, They will be coming. And They will once again allow me to release my pain. Some have said since my return, that my actions are those of a mad man. Hak, I heard those words escape your lips in the locker room. But I am not mad. My actions are cold, calculated. And when They come, all will be revealed, and no one, least of all YOU Hak, will be safe. Quite the Raven, nevermore...

*On the last line, Raven looks up into the camera, before leaning over and blowing the lamp out, leaving the room in an eerie darkness*

(85%)

MT: Well fans, I'm almost speechless after that. Obviously Raven has some serious issues to work out, and quite frankly, I think that a hospital of some sort might be better suited for his needs than a wrestling ring.

DM: For once Tenay, I think you're right. Who are "They" that Raven referred to several times? I'm not sure that Raven is all together in his head right now.

MT: Hopefully Dave, we never have to find out WHO "They" are. To be honest with you, I'm not sure that "They" exist anywhere besides Raven's head.

DM: Let's hope you're right on THAT one Tenay. I've got to change the subject, this is starting to give me chills. Coming up next fans, we’ve got a number one contendership match for the Tag Team Titles between The Dancing Fools Alex Wright and Disco Inferno, a team that lost to the Tag Champs LAST week, Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr. Personally, my money's on Kidman and Mysterio Tenay.

MT: I think you have to give them the advantage, seeing as how they have the most motivation to want to get back at The Triad after their loss last week, especially when you consider the manner in which it went down. Let's see if this DOES prove to be enough of a motivating factor for them, as that match is next.

**Kidman/Rey Msyterio, Jr. vs. Dancing Fools; Tag Team Title #1 Contendership match**

Both teams enter to decent sized reactions form the crowd, though Mysterio and Kidman seem to be the crowd favorites. ON the way to the ring, Kidman is stopped by a gorgeous blond sitting near the guard rail, who smiles coyly at him, before leaning over and giving him a quick peck on the cheek. Kidman seems to be as surprised as anyone else by this, but also seems to enjoy it judging by the big smile on his face. The action begins right away after they enter the ring, proving to be fast and furious, with all four men in the ring at the same time. After stereo dropkicks on Wright and Disco knock them out of the ring, Kidman and Rey take time to celebrate with the crowd. The match proper begins with Kidman and Alex Wright going at it, with Wright trying to use his slight size advantage to counter Kidman's speed. It works briefly, as Wrights catches Kidman with a nice powerslam off the ropes for a 2 count. However, after Wright tags Disco in, things begin to go downhill for the team. Disco seems to be concentrating more on his dancing than on winning the match, which allows Kidman to nail him with another big dropkick and tag Mysterio in. Rey enters and immediately begins using his full range of high-risk moves on both Disco AND Wright, including a reversal of an attempted double hiptoss by shifting his balance in the air and bringing both men down with a bulldog. Rey then goes up to attempt a big move, but misses Disco, who is the legal man, and nails Wright. This gives Disco a chance to recover and catch Rey with a nice clothesline. With Rey stunned, Disco goes back to work this time focusing more on the match, trying to put Rey away. The Dancing Fools work Rey over with some nice double team moves, including a COMPLETED double hiptoss that shakes the ring. This continues for several minutes, until Rey looks to be in severe trouble. However, Disco's "dance fever" gets the better of him again, and he pauses as he goes to the second rope to dance before attempting a double axehandle. Rey manages to recover, and catches him with a dropkick to the stomach, before lunging over to tag in Kidman, who quickly jumps in the ring to take care of business. Kidman uses his fresh legs to keep Disco, as well as Wright when he tries to enter, off of their feet. Kidman is quickly able to knock Wright to the floor, and catches Disco with another dropkick to the chin. This puts him down long enough for Kidman to ascend to the top turnbuckle and come down with a beautiful Shooting Star Press, which gives him the victory!

*Kidman and Rey's celebration in the ring is soon cut short however, as from out of nowhere The Triad appears and attacks, using a pair of chairs to knock Kidman and Rey out. DDP and Kanyon continue to beat on Rey and Kidman until they are finally separated by a host of officials. As Kidman and Rey are helped to the back, the camera catches the blond woman at ringside looking very concerned*

(73/64/82; **3/4)

MT: Once again we see The Triad trying to gain an advantage of their rivals by sneak attacking them from behind. You have to ask yourself Dave, if these guys are as good as they THINK they are, why don't they just prove themselves in the RING, instead of using these cheap tactics?

DM: It's very simple Tenay. DDP and Kanyon are opportunists. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but they saw an opportunity and they TOOK it. And I have to say, that was one HUGE beating they laid on Kidman and Mysterio. I don't think they'll be up to challenging for those titles anytime soon.

MT: Which I'm sure was DDP and Kanyon's plan all along. Coming up next fans, we're going to see a match that is a result of the past few shows here in WCW. You all saw Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho go at it last week, and you all saw Buff Bagwell become involved in that match. Many of you also saw what happened this past Thursday on Thunder. Well as a result of Thunder, Buff Bagwell has asked for a one on one match against Chris Benoit, here tonight on Nitro.

DM: You know, Buff Bagwell is a good wrestler Tenay. But he may have bitten off more than he can chew here tonight, as Chris Benoit is one of the ELITE wrestlers in the world today. The man can do it all, from brawling, to highflying, to of course technical wrestling. Buff Bagwell is going to have to have a solid game plan going into tonight’s match, and he's going to have to avoid making any mistakes.

MT: That still might not be enough Dave. But there's only one way to find out. Let’s got to the ring.

**Arn lays it out**

*Benoit makes his way out to a nice reaction from the crowd, with Arn Anderson by his side. Arn has a mike, and speaks briefly*

Arn Anderson: You know, I'm really happy that Buff Bagwell asked for this match tonight. Cause there's nothing I like to see more than a pretty boy get his butt whipped by a real man. And that's what Chris Benoit is. He doesn't talk a lot, he doesn't come out here dancing around like an idiot, he just comes out and gets the job done. And tonight, he's gonna get the job done against that punk Bagwell. And he's gonna do it all by himself. Chris, take care of business.

*Arn shakes Benoit's hand, then leaves the ring and walks back up the aisle*

(72%)

**Chris Benoit vs. Buff Bagwell**

Bagwell is on the receiving end of a loud chorus of boos as he makes his way out. The two lockup, with Benoit getting the early advantage by using his technical skills to take Bagwell down early. He actually has the Crippler Crossface locked on briefly, but Bagwell manages to make the ropes and break the hold. Bagwell rolls outside, but Benoit follows and throws him right back into the ring, where he continues the punishment, using a variety of suplexes, mixed in with some brutal chops. Bagwell's chest turns bright red as Benoit pours on the offense, keeping Bagwell from being able to put up any kin of defense. Finally Bagwell catches a break, as Benoit misses a charge to the corner, allowing Bagwell to get a quick rollup for a 2 count. Bagwell seizes his brief advantage, and uses some basic moves on Benoit to slow down his momentum, especially focusing on Benoits shoulder in order to sap his strength for pulling back on the Crossface. Bagwell uses every move in his arsenal to try to damage Benoit's arm, and in fact, almost manages a submission of his own after he links a single arm ddt into a reverse fujiwara armbar (!). Benoit won't give up though, and fights back to his feet, where he picks Bagwell up with his other arm and delivers a big backdrop suplex. As both men lay down on the mat, none other than Chris Jericho comes down the aisle, bringing the crowd to its feet. As Benoit and Bagwell struggle to their feet, Jericho makes his way to ringside, where he is met by the referee, who obviously knows what Jericho is up to. Jericho tries to barge past the official, but is stopped as the ref hangs on, grappling to keep Jericho form entering the ring. Jericho finally relents, but not before tossing his Television Title Belt into the ring, where it is picked up by Buff Bagwell. As the ref sees that Jericho leaves the ringside area, Bagwell spins and nails Benoit in the head with the belt, knocking him out. Bagwell throws the belt out of the ring, and covers as the referee re-enters, leaving him with no choice but to count the 1-2-3!

*As Jericho stands laughing on the stage, the arena suddenly erupts. Jericho slowly turns, only to find himself face to face with Booker T! Jericho's attempted punch is blocked by Booker, who proceeds to start beating the crap out of Jericho on the stage, as Benoit recovers and does the same to Bagwell inside the ring. The fans go crazy as Booker and Benoit take care of business, before Jericho and Bagwell are finally able to escape, behind the curtain and through the crowd respectively.*

(85/80/91; ***1/2)

MT: Yet another example of a great match ending unfairly at the hands of Chris Jericho.

DM: Well, you may be right Tenay, but again, if it means that Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit hook up again, or Jericho and Booker T go at it again, then I'm all for it. Those three guys, as well as Buff Bagwell, seem to have some bad blood between them. And quite honestly, I love it.

MT: I can't disagree with wanting to see them in the ring again Dave. I just wish for once, a match involving Jericho or Bagwell could end WITHOUT interference from the other man. I guess we'll have to see if that's possible. Coming up next fans, we have a special in ring interview, with the U.S. Champion, Bret Hart. Although we haven't received official word concerning what he's going to speak about, you have to assume its Ric Flair.

DM: Well, after Flair's strange attitude last week Tenay, I'd say a LOT of people want to know what's going on with Flair. Maybe "The Hitman" will get to the bottom of this.

MT: Seeing some of the things he's done recently, I'd say he's pretty close to the bottom of the barrel as it is. But now fans, let's go back to the ring for that interview.

DM: I'm going to make sure he knows that you said that Tenay.

**Bret makes a call out**

*The music of the U.S. Champion fills the arena as the fans unite in the disapproval of Bret Hart’s entrance. He slowly makes his way to the ring with a smirk on his face, finally getting in and reaching into his pocket for the microphone*

Bret Hart: You know, life's funny sometimes, isn't it? I mean, let's think about this. I said for, what, two months?, that Ric Flair didn't have it anymore in the ring. And all I heard was how wrong I was, and how disrespectful I was, and how once I got in the ring with Ric Flair, he'd prove me wrong. So what happened? I got in the ring with Ric Flair, and HE GOT BEAT. Not only die he get beat, but he got beat while he was trying to put on his "signature move", the Figure Four Leglock. That's what I call pathetic. But you know what? I have no hard feelings for Ric Flair. It must be tough, to admit that you're a broken down loser, who can't get the job done anymore. It must break Ric Flair's heart to admit that "Space Mountain" has turned into a hill. I know that Ric Flair, well, let's just say that ever since Superbrawl, I haven't seen the ladies hanging around like I used to. As a matter of fact, I haven't seen much of Ric Flair. I saw him in his dressing room that one time, but he didn't seem to want to chat. So that's why I decided to come out here tonight, to give Ric Flair a chance to come down here, get in the ring, look me face to face and apologize for everything he said and did against me.

*The crowd gives Hart massive boos for this statement*

Bret Hart: You can boo all you want to, but the fact is, I WAS RIGHT. I BEAT Ric Flair in the middle of the ring, and there wasn't a DAMN thing that he could do about it. So I want Ric Flair gather up whatever is left of his dignity and come out here to give ME the respect that I deserve.

*The strains of Also Sprach Zarathustra are heard, as the crowd rises to their feet. However, no Flair forthcoming, and the cheers quickly turn into a buzz of questions, as everyone wonders where Ric Flair can be. The answer is finally revealed as the camera cuts to the backstage are, where, Ric Flair has evidently been watching on a TV monitor. He stares at the screen for a moment, before slowly turning and walking sadly out the door leading outside the arena.

As the camera cuts back to the ring, the crowd is booing, although Bret Hart looks as confused as anyone. He finally shrugs, lays down the mike, and leaves back up the aisle*

(86%)

DM: What was THAT all about?

MT: I have no idea Dave. I thought, and I know that everyone HERE thought that Ric Flair would come out to the ring and go face to face to Bret Hart. I never expected Ric Flair to just...LEAVE like that. Something very strange is going on here.

DM: You can say that again. Ric Flair is a lot of things, but I've never known him to just back out from a challenge, without even a COMMENT.

MT: Fans, we apologize that we don't know any more than we do, but that was a totally unexpected situation, and I frankly don't know what to say at this time.

DM: Neither do I Tenay, but we can't linger too long on this issue. Because coming up next, we're going to see World Champion Goldberg defend his Title against a man who, physically, might be the right man to take the Title away from him, in Scott Steiner.

MT: Steiner IS an impressive physical specimen Dave. But then again, so is Goldberg. And I know for a fact that Goldberg asked for someone LIKE Scott Steiner to be his first challenger, just to prove to everyone watching that he can take on all challengers, and to prove that the Title is staying around his wait for a long time.

DM: Enough talk Tenay, let's get to the action. Fans, lets go back to ringside for our World Title match!

**Goldberg© vs. Scott Steiner; World Championship match**

Steiner enters to a negative reaction from the crowd, and waits in the ring for the champion. He doesn't have long to wait, as the crowd explodes for the entrance of Goldberg, who makes his way down the aisle, staring at Steiner the entire way. Steiner tries to attack Goldberg as he enters the ring, but Goldberg uses his brute strength to fight off Steiner, knocking him back with a barrage of punches followed by a scoop and a quick powerslam. Finally able to take his belt of, Goldberg is quickly back on the offensive, using a variety of power moves to knock Steiner down, though he is not able to pin him yet. Steiner fights back with his OWN high impact offense, using several Belly-to-Belly suplexes to slow Goldberg down, as well as some clubbing forearm blows to the back. The action continues in this manner for several minutes, with both men controlling at alternate points, although Goldberg seems to have had some steam taken out of him by the suplexes that Steiner continues to throw. Steiner actually manages to put Goldberg into the Steiner Recliner at one point, pulling back on the massive neck of Goldberg and attempting to make him give. Goldberg will not submit however, and in fact, powers his way to his feet, holding Steiner on his back before dropping straight down, squashing Steiner on the mat. Both men are slow to rise to their feet, and as they do, they start to exchange big punches and forearms, trying to club the other man back down again. Steiner briefly gets the advantage, and tries to whip Goldberg into the ropes, only to have the whip reversed. As Steiner bounces off the opposite rope, Goldberg crouches, gathering his strength for a Spear. He meets Steiner with maximum impact, knocking the wind out of Steiner, and leaving him easy pickings for the finish. Goldberg hoists Steiner above his head into position, then bring him crashing back down to the ground with a perfect Jackhammer, automatically covering Steiner for the 3 count, and the victory!

*Goldberg grabs his belt, and celebrates for a moment in the ring, before leaving and beginning to walk back up the aisle. As he reaches the stage, a figure emerges from the back, revealing himself to be none other than Rick Steiner, who tries to take advantage of a fatigued Goldberg. Steiner finds that Goldberg has more left in him however, and the two men end up brawling back behind the curtain as Scott Steiner struggles to his feet and heads as quickly as he can back up the aisle*

(79/86/65; ***; World Title gained image)

MT: A hard hitting Title defense by the World Champion there Dave. But I have to ask this question. This is the second time that Rick Steiner has become involved in, or after a match of Scott Steiner’s. What do you think that means?

DM: Well, I think the answer might be pretty obvious Tenay, but with a guy like Rick Steiner, it's never safe to speculate as to why he does ANYTHING.

MT: Very true, very true. Now fans, I know that some of you are wondering when Eric Bischoff will reveal his surprise for Kevin Nash. Well, I've just received word that Eric Bischoff is on his way to the ring, and he will be announcing...

**SURPRISE!**

*As has become tradition, Tenay is cut off by Eric Bischoff's music, as the man himself hobbles down to the ring holding a mike. The fans cheer appreciatively, but are also ready to hear what the surprise might be. *

Eric Bischoff: Thank you, thank you. You know, it's good to be back on my feet after what happened to me last week. Which isn't the first time that sort of thing has happened to me, now is it? But I'll get to that in a moment. First off, I want Kevin Nash to come out here, right NOW! If you don't show up in this ring, then you're FIRED!

*The crowd waits expectantly as "Ode to the Wolfpac" begins playing, and Kevin Nash slowly makes his way out to the ring. He enters, with a mike of his own (surprise!) and gets right in Bischoff's face.*

Nash: You ah, wanted to see me about something boss?

Bischoff: As a matter of fact, I did "Kev". You see, last week, you asked me for a match against Goldberg. That was right before you powerbombed me through a table. Now, some guys would look at that and say, SCREW Kevin Nash, he's NEVER getting another Title shot!

*Nash looks perturbed, but the crowd seems to like the idea*

Bischoff: However, fortunately for you, I'm not like most guys. You see, I saw on the video what happened after you attacked me. I saw Goldberg show up, and I saw you run away like you had a big yellow stripe running down your back. So I thought, heck, why not give these people what I'm sure they would love to see, and what I KNOW that I would love, and let Nash take on Goldberg one more time. But you see "Kev", I can't do that for free. No, a match of this size has to be on Pay-Per-View. Now, the next PPV coming up for us is titled "Uncensored". Traditionally, it's been a "no holds barred" kind of PPV. Which makes it the perfect place to have the rematch between you and Goldberg. Because you see, at Uncensored, you will take on Goldberg for the World Championship, and you will do it inside the confines of a STEEL CAGE!

*Nash looks furious at this announcement, as the crowd erupts in cheers at the thought of the two men locked inside a cage together*

Nash: So that's your big surprise huh Eric? To lock me up inside a cage with Goldberg. I'm kinda surprised Eric. Yeah, I'm surprised that you would be STUPID enough to give me that kind of opportunity to injure your champion. Because that's what's going to happen at Uncensored. I'm going to beat Goldberg for the Title, but more than that, I'm going to BREAK Goldberg in half and leave his bleeding, twitching body in the ring, as a reminder to you of what I can do when I get pissed off. Now, if there's nothing else you have for me, I've got things to do...

Bischoff: Wait just a minute there Kev. You see, you didn't let me finish. You facing Goldberg in a cage wasn't my only surprise for tonight. No, you see, I have ANOTHER surprise. Over the past few months, I've noticed that there's a lot of "extra-curricular" activity going on backstage, after matches, etc. And I've been trying to think of how I can put a stop to the mess that some of the WCW "Superstars" have caused. Well after your attack on me last week, the idea hit me. Personally, I feel like I need a bodyguard out here sometimes. And I definitely need someone to act as an enforcer to cut down on the sneak attacks. So I thought, who would be perfect for that job? I mean, it would have to be somebody with the physical size and strength necessary to handle the position. Also, I thought that it needed to be somebody that the FANS might be a little familiar with, since they could be seeing a lot of this guy. And Finally, I needed somebody who can act as a machine, who can carry out orders on a moments notice, and who is willing to do whatever it takes, and I do mean WHATEVER, to stop the crap that's been going on here. So I got on the phone, made a few calls, and signed the perfect man for the job. Some of you should recognize him. Kev, I think you're probably going to be excited to see him. So here he is, right...NOW!

*The lights dim as Nash looks around for who Bischoff is talking about. Suddenly, on the screen, the words appear: It's time, It's time, It's...VADER TIME!*

*As the crowd reacts and Nash's jaw drops, a huge figure steps out onto the stage, the lights flashing and a huge blast of pyro revealing it to be The Man Called Vader! He walks purposefully down the aisle as the fans become more and more excited. Nash is dumbfounded in the ring, seemingly unable to move. Finally, the lights come back up as Vader reaches the ring. He steps through the ropes, and turns to face Nash. Nash seems to finally regain control of himself, and charges at Vader, trying to take him out. Vader doesn't budge however, and steps up to deliver a big Avalanche to Nash, knocking him right back down. As the cheers grow louder, Vader bends down and picks Nash back, signaling to the fans that it's Powerbomb time! With the fans, and Bischoff's support, he lifts Nash above his head before bringing him back down to the canvas with a thundering Powerbomb! Nash is OUT, as Vader stands above him, looking down at the former World Champion*

(86%)

MT: What a bombshell! Not only has a match been signed for Uncensored with Nash and Goldberg in a cage, but Eric Bischoff has brought The Man Called Vader back to WCW!

DM: You know something Tenay, I'd say that Kevin Nash can't be too pleased with EITHER of his surprises tonight!

MT: Maybe not, but I don't think that Vader cares about what Nash thinks right now! And all that I care about right now, is that Vader is back, and he's back to help out things straight here in WCW! Fans, we're out of time, but you DON'T want to miss Thunder this Thursday or Nitro next week! Good night everybody!

*The final shot of the evening is of Eric Bischoff raising Vader's hand as the both stand over Nash, with the fans going crazy for the new "Enforcer" of WCW.*

Tuesday, March 8th:

*Here I am, once again, in the same ol' office, waiting for the same ol' information. Well, not REALLY the same, but you know what I mean. Personally, I was very pleased with last nights show. I'll have to see what Sophie and the FANS think though.*

*A knock on the door and Sophie's head lets me know that she's here with the results.*

Me: Come in Sophie.

Sophie: Hey, hope you're not busy. I've got the results of the various and sundry polls from last night.

Me: Nope, I was just sitting here waiting on you. So pull up a chair and lay it on me, baby.

Sophie: Baby? Ok...

Me: Sorry, lost my head.

Sophie: *Smiling* Call me baby again and that statement becomes a literal FACT.

Me: Point well taken. Go ahead...Sophie.

Sophie: Much better. Well, we did pretty darn well on all fronts. First off, the approval rating was an 83%, which is really good. As a matter of fact, I think the whole show was pretty unanimously liked. Everything got a good reaction from the fans, and I think your little "surprise" at the end woke some people up. I actually need to talk to you about that in a minute.

Me: Ok... Huh, 83%. I'm impressed. I mean, I know that I thought the show went well, but I wasn't sure how everyone else felt. What did you think Sophie?

Sophie: Solid from top to bottom. Didn't have QUITE as good wrestling action as last week, but still nothing to be ashamed of. And I thought the angles progressed well.

Me: Good. Now, about the TV rating...

Sophie: Well, I'm not sure you're ready for this...

Me: Oh no...

Sophie: Well, WWF scored a 7.24. And we got...a 6.88!

Me: What? 6.88?!? Are you SERIOUS?

Sophie: Very serious. That's the highest TV rating Nitro has had in a long, LONG time. I'd say that the things that are going on are drawing new fans in to watch the shows. Congratulations.

Me: Man, that's GREAT. I mean, "beating" the WWF was never my TOP goal, but it certainly was ONE of my goals. And with that kind of rating, we're getting closer and closer.

Sophie: I thought you'd be pleased. Now, to continue what I was saying earlier...

Me: Oh yeah, go ahead...Sophie.

Sophie: Well, I just need to ask. When were you planning to tell me that you signed Vader? I mean, I appreciate surprises as much as anybody, but seeing as how I AM your assistant, it would have been nice to be aware of a major acquisition like Vader.

Me: Sorry about that Sophie. The deal literally didn't come through until the last few hours. I wasn't sure we could get Vader in from Japan in time for the show, so I didn't want to raise anyone's hopes until I knew for SURE that we had him.

Sophie: Well, no problem, just was kind of a shock moment to see him walk out. What would you have done if he HADN'T been able to get here in time?

Me: Well, my options were kind of limited. I was thinking about Savage, but no go there. I think we're gonna have to let him go. He's not happy, and I'm not happy with him. I've tried to explain to him about why he hasn't been on TV lately, and he doesn't want to hear it. Lex Luger either. So I think they may both be gone.

Sophie: Well, I hate to see them go, but if they're not happy, there's no sense in keeping them around. I guess no wI understand why I didn't know about Vader. But I do need to ask you one more thing...

Me: I know what you're gonna ask me. And I HAVE reached a decision. I talked to Mr. Turner on the phone, and he told me it's my decision. And I've decided...to go for it. It's a risk, but I think it can pay off big time. I just hope I'm up to the task.

Sophie: Well, you know I'll be right here for anything you need. That's great. I'll let Mr. Turner know, and get to work on the legal details.

Me: Thanks Sophie. It's good to have that kind of support. And BELIEVE me, I'm gonna need it. Tell you what, you get to work on that, and I'll start drafting the booking sheet for Thunder.

Sophie: Sounds good. If you need anything else, just let me know. By the way, thanks for letting me take yesterday off. I'm glad that I was able to get all those appointments done in one day. I hate missing all of the "action" around here.

Me: Yeah, I know what you mean. Anyway, I'll let you go. Call me if you have any questions.

Sophie: Will do. Bye for now.

Me: Bye.

*Well, good news on the stat sheet today. I'm pleased with the ratings, BOTH of them. But now it gets a little scary. I just hope I know what I'm doing. This whole thing that's about to go down, could be a major success, or a major flop. I'm hoping for success. I think with a little hard work, I can do it. And if not, then I guess I can always go back to working for my father in his lawn care business...*

Thursday, March 11th:

Thunder!

*7,535 people are standing in unison and cheering their heads off as we begin another edition of WCW Thunder. After the usual pyrotechnics display, we go straight to ringside for our opening match*

**Juventud Guerrero vs. Dean Malenko**

As the match gets underway, our announcers Mike Tenay and "Blah blah blah if ya weeeeeeeeellll" Dusty Rhodes greet us and inform us that this match is to determine the number one contender for a cruiserweight title shot at Uncensored. The action is back and forth the entire time, with Juvi using all of his highflying moves while Malenko concentrates on the ground based offense. After several minutes of this intense action, Cruiserweight Champion Eddie Guerrero comes down to the ring, jumps in, and attacks both men! The referee is forced to call for a double dq.

*Eddie continues his assault, but Juvi and Dean are NOT happy and begin to fight back and continue to battle each other, leaving all 3 men brawling in the ring until the referee and some other officials can break them apart*

(74/65/84; **3/4)

Tenay and Rhodes speculate that Eddie interfered in that manner in order to ensure that NO ONE receives a shot at his title. Tenay wonders what Eric Bischoff will decide about the Cruiserweight Title match at Uncensored, and again speculates that he may speak on that very issue on Nitro. He then instructs everyone to pay close attention to the next video clip...

**It's time, it's time, it's VADER time!**

The clip rolls, and we are immediately shown a shot of Vader Powerbombing some no name wrestler almost through the canvas. The shots continue of Vader, both in WCW as well as various other promotions, showing the carnage and destruction that Vader brings everywhere he goes. Powerbombs, Vader Bombs, Avalanches, and of course some of the most brutal punches ever thrown give the crowd an ample demonstration of just how qualified Vader is to be Eric Bischoff's "enforcer". The final shot of the video is from this past Monday, as Vader stands over the lifeless body of Kevin Nash after delivering a huge Powerbomb. The video fades as Vader stares down at the fallen former Champion...

(76%)

The announcers go over the entire saga from Nitro concerning Vader and Nash, and according to Tenay, he has received word that the saga will continue on next weeks Nitro, as Vader will be set to face his first opponent, Kevin Nash's "good buddy" Scott Hall. Tenay and Rhodes discuss this for a few more minutes, and then announce that it's time for our next match.

**Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Rey Mysterio, Jr.**

Tenay notes that this is another chapter in the rivalry between Mysterio/Kidman and The Triad. He also notes what a mismatch this appears to be as the match gets underway. The match is a typical big man vs. little man match, with Bigelow using his power to try to squash Rey and keep him from flying. The end comes when Kanyon sneaks down to ringside with a chair and tries to blast Rey with it. Rey moves however, and the chair catches Bigelow. After dropkicking the chair back into Kanyon's face, Rey is able to go up top and nail a Swandive from the corner to pin Bigelow for the "upset"!

*Kanyon, after recovering, realizes his mistake and jumps back in the ring to try to get revenge. Rey is too fast though, and gets out the other side before Kanyon can do any damage, leaving him frustrated in the ring*

(77/69/85; ***)

Our announcers discuss the fact that the match was actually very competitive up until the final few minutes, and note the fact that Rey might have gotten the win even if Kanyon had NOT tried to interfere. Tenay says that he believes the rivalry between Mysterio/Kidman and The Triad is far from over. He then throws us back to the video for another look at an enigmatic WCW superstar, Raven.

**Caw, caw!**

Another video flashes on the screen, this one much more dark and sinister, fitting for the subject at hand. Small clips of Raven's WCW career, including the past few weeks are shown, while narration, obviously by Raven, speaks about the pain and the suffering that has afflicted Raven his entire life. The final moment of the video is a sequence from his interview on Nitro, promising that "They" will be coming soon. As the camera freezes on a close-up of Raven's face, his voice echoes that last statement again and again...

(83%)

After discussing who Raven means by "They", Rhodes announces that he is of the opinion that Raven may have finally flipped, and be speaking of imaginary people. Tenay isn't so sure however, and cautions everyone in WCW to be on guard, as there is no telling what Raven may do next. HE then throws us back to ringside for the following match.

**Lash LeRoux vs. Tajiri**

The announcers talk about how this match was made by Eric Bischoff as a way to show off some of the young talent here in WCW, and how both men will be looking to make a big impression tonight. They do just that, as the match that follows is a very fast paced match, featuring several very impressive moves, including a submission move in the corner by Tajiri that Tenay announce is called the Tarantula. Eventually, Tajiri is able to catch Lash coming off the top rope with a stiff kick to the stomach, and follow up with a vicious Brainbuster for the 3 count and the victory.

*After struggling to his feet, Lash extends his hand to Tajiri, who merely looks at it. When Lash tries again, Tajiri kicks the hand away, and exits the ring, leaving Lash looking upset inside*

(70/58/83; **1/2)

Rhodes announces that he thinks that Tajiri didn't shake Lash's hand because he knew that the match could have gone the other way, and he thinks it scared Tajiri. Tenay isn't so sure, and seems to be of the opinion that Tajiri just has an attitude problem. He then announces that coming up next we have our two big main events, but first...

**Jericho Thunder**

*We cut to the back where Chris Jericho is holding a mike. He smirks at the camera as the fans boo, and begins to speak*

Chris Jericho: Listen up all you idiots in the crowd. And you listen too, you idiots in the back. And you ESPECIALLY listen Chris Daniels. Because you see, tonight, I get you one on one in that ring again. And hey, don't worry that I've already beaten you before. I've beaten a LOT of people. And it never gets old. Tonight will just be another night for YOUR Television Champion. And just like everyone else, Chris Daniels is going to be just another notch on my belt when I get done. Oh, and let me say one more thing. Daniels, I know that I saw you and Booker T and Chris Benoit Pal'ing around backstage the last few days. But if either of those jackasses try to stick their nose into MY match tonight, then I'll just have to kick THEIR asses too. And that, Jerichoholics, is a promise.

*Jericho poses flamboyantly with his Title Belt before walking off camera, as the audience expresses their disgust with the TV Champion*

(88%)

Tenay and Rhodes talk about how Jericho warned Booker and Benoit not to interfere, yet seems to have no problems interfering in THEIR matches. And speaking of Benoit, Tenay announces that coming up next is a rematch from this past Nitro, as Chris Benoit takes on Buff Bagwell.

**Buff Bagwell vs. Chris Benoit**

The announcers briefly go over the history between these two men as the match gets underway. As expected, Benoit comes out very aggressively, and takes it right to Bagwell, who seems stunned by the violence Benoit displays. Bagwell manages to fight back some, but after several minutes of pure slaughter, Benoit is able to slap the Crippler Crossface on Bagwell in the middle of the ring, leaving him no choice but to submit.

*Benoit celebrates briefly in the ring before leaving to the cheers of the crowd. Bagwell, after recovering for a moment, pushes the referee away when he tries to check him, and walks out with a disgusted look on his face*

(85/80/91; ***1/2)

Our fearless announcers inform us that after that beating, it's now time to see if Jericho can live up to what he claimed in his interview, as he takes on Chris Daniels NEXT!

**Chris Daniels vs. Chris Jericho**

The crowd seems excited for the action to get underway in this match, which it does as soon as both men are in the ring. The match is a great back and forth contest, with both men having the advantage at various times. The two use all the technical moves, brawling, and high flying moves in their arsenal as they attempt to put the other away. Finally, after several minutes of reversals, Jericho attempts a powerbomb on Daniels, who reverses into a DDT in mid air! With Jericho down and out, he is easy pickings for a Double Underhook Powerbomb, as Daniels picks up the 1-2-3 for the upset victory!

*Daniels celebrates in the ring as the fans stand in appreciation of the match they just witnessed, and also give Daniels a big round of applause for his victory. The celebration is cut short however, as Jericho rolls out of the ring, grabs his belt, and rolls back in. When Daniels turns, he receives a shot right between the eyes, knocking him out cold. Jericho again poses with the belt as the fans shower him with boos, and adds a few more kicks to Chris Daniels before leaving the ring.*

(89/83/95 :D; ****)

Tenay and Rhodes talk about how a fantastic match we all just witnessed and put over Daniels win as maybe the biggest of his career up to this point. They remind us again that Vader takes on Scott Hall on Nitro, and remind us to also tune in next week on Thunder for all the great WCW action.

*The show closes as Daniels struggles to his feet in the ring, looking for Jericho and revenge...*

Friday, March 12th:

*Same old office. Same old chair. Same old computer. Same old, same old. That's about what I'm feeling today. Don't know why, but I just can't seem to get going today. Maybe Sophie will perk me up. She usually does. She should be here anytime...*

Sophie: *Knocking on the door* Can I come in?

*See, what did I tell you?*

Me: Sure, come on in.

Sophie: *Entering the room* Well, don't you look cheerful today. I thought that with how well last nights show went, you'd be a little happier.

Me: Did you really think it went well?

Sophie: I thought it was a pretty good show. And the audience agreed. 81% approval rating. Seems to be the norm for our shows to hit over 80% lately. And seeing what we have coming up in the not that distant future...

Me: Yeah, we need all the audience support we can get. What about the TV rating?

Sophie: 2.01. The network is still happy, so Mr. Turner's happy too. And I think he's ALSO happy that we're not doing it by just copying what the WWF is doing right now.

Me: Well, I AM trying to do things my way. And I think, personally, that last night’s main event was a great example of that. I mean, Jericho and Daniels tore things UP last night.

Sophie: I think the crowd agreed with you. And I don't think they would mind seeing it again.

Me: Well, we'll have to see about that. As I'm sure you're well aware, there's a lot going on right now.

Sophie: Right, and I actually wanted to talk to you about that...

Me: Sophie, please, that's actually what I'm having some problems with right now. I just need to think and arrange exactly how I'm gonna deal with this situation before I do anything else.

Sophie: Well...Alright. Sorry I brought it up. Guess I'll go now.

Me: Sophie, wait...

Sophie: See you later.

*Before I can stop her, she's out the door. Just great. That's JUST what I needed today. Seems like it never rains but it pours. I've got too much to do and too much that's going on to have to deal with this. Maybe I was too hard on her. I don't know. And I guess maybe I should apologize. I just don't know how to handle these situations. Well, maybe I do.*

Me: *Picking up the phone* Hi, I need some flowers delivered. The card should be made out to Sophie. That's S-O-P-H...

Monday, March 15th:

Nitro!

*A video highlighting the events of last weeks Nitro are shown, with special focus of course on the debut of Vader. Clips of the various matches flash by, ending with the already classic shot of Vader standing over the fallen body of Kevin Nash.*

*As the video ends, the pyro explodes, and the crowd erupts. All 7513 in attendance are on their feet, excited and ready for some great WCW action. We are taken to ringside with our announcers, Mike Tenay and Dave Meltzer.*

Mike Tenay: Good evening everybody, and welcome once again to WCW Monday Nitro. I'm joined as always by my broadcast partner Dave Meltzer. Dave, good to see you again tonight.

Dave Meltzer: Well Tenay, it's good to be at Nitro tonight. I've been looking forward to tonight ever since it was announced that Vader would be facing Scott Hall in his first match since his return to WCW. For the fans that may not remember Vader form his previous WCW stint, let's just say that you're in for a very physical and intense match tonight.

MT: No doubt about that Dave. Both Vader and Scott Hall are very strong and, well, as you said physical. Tonight’s match should be something to remember. But that's not all the action we have for you tonight fans. In fact, our first match of the evening features two of the best cruiserweight wrestlers in the world today, Juventud Guerrero and Dean Malenko.

DM: Not only are they two of the best cruisers in the world, these two men are two of the best WRESTLERS in the world today. And you have to know that they're going to be going all out tonight, seeing what's on the line.

MT: Fans, as you probably are aware, this match came about because on Thunder, Eddie Guerrero interfered in a match between these two to determine the number one contender for his Cruiserweight Title. Well Eric Bischoff decided that we NEED to have a number one contender, and signed a rematch for tonight, with one added stipulation. Eddie Guerrero is banned from ringside, and if he interferes in the match, he'll be suspended, and his title will be stripped.

DM: This should be a clean, well wrestled match Tenay. And personally, I can't wait any longer. Let's go to ringside for it now.

**Juventud Guerrera vs. Dean Malenko; #1 contendership match for the Cruiserweight Title**

Both men enter to a favorable reaction from the crowd, who also seems to appreciate the pre-match handshake between the two. The match gets underway with some quick reversals form both men, with Malenko seeming to have the slight advantage. Juvi soon tries to turn the match into a high-flying affair, but Dean keeps things on the mat, working on Juvi's leg with various punishing holds. Malenko is obviously trying to injure Juvi's leg and prevent him from flying, but Juvi won't give up. He fights back when Malenko tries a dragon-screw legwhip by delivering an enziguiri to the back of Dean's head. Juvi takes over, favoring his leg, but still managing to use some of his speed, including a spinning heel kick that snaps Malenko's neck back. Juvi almost gets the pin off of the move, but Malenko isn't done yet. As Juvi goes up top to attempt a big move, Malenko is able to rise to his feet. He is helped in this by Juvi's reduced speed due to the legwork done earlier. Malenko blocks Juvi from coming off the top, and goes up to try a superplex. Juvi tries to block the move, and the two grapple on the top turnbuckle as the crowd buzzes with anticipation. Finally Malenko gets the advantage, and instead of going for the superplex again, lifts Juvi up on his shoulders. He looks around at the crowd, then jumps off, throwing Juvi over his head stomach first, right into his knee! After this Super Gutbuster, Juvi is out, and easy pickings for Malenko to pin for the 3 count, and the title shot!

*After the match, Malenko goes to help Juvi back to his feet, but never gets the chance, as Cruiserweight Champion Eddie Guerrero comes running down the aisle and into the ring, nailing Malenko from behind. He wails away on Malenko as the ref tries to pull him off. Only after putting Malenko out is Eddie satisfied. He gives one final shot to the head before walking away with a smirk on his face.*

(71/73/85 oh no, one of THOSE days again; **1/2)

MT: Once again, Eddie Guerrero proves his character by a post match attack on his top contender. You know, I have no doubt that Eddie Guerrero is a good enough wrestler to defend his title WITHOUT these kinds of actions. And that's what makes no sense to me.

DM: Tenay, Eddie Guerrero may not go about things in the way most people find acceptable, but so far it's helped him hold onto his title. And if he can get into Dean Malenko's head, not to mention injuring his body, it will only help him to retain the title when the two men DO meet up.

MT: Nevertheless, I still think that Eddie needs to let this match happen with both men at their peak, as it could be a classic. Now coming up next fans...

**Hey Yo...**

*Before Tenay can finish his sentence, he is (again) interrupted, as the camera cuts to the back. A long black limo has just pulled up, and the door is opening. Out steps former World Champion Kevin Nash, along with...Scott Hall! The two men look over and see the camera, then laugh and save in their own unique manner. Hall takes the toothpick out of his mouth, and throws it right at the camera while Nash just makes a "kissy" face, before begin to walk out. As they walk off, the camera catches a few words form Hall...*

Hall: Man, Vader ain't gonna know what hit him when we get through with him tonight.

*Before the camera can catch anymore, the two men are out of range*

(75%)

MT: Scott Hall certainly seems confident, doesn't he? And with that comment, you have to wonder if the two have something up their sleeves.

DM: With Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, you ALWAYS have to wonder what they have up their sleeves. By the way, for those fans not aware, Scott Hall has not been seen on WCW television the past few weeks, because he's been competing in Japan, where he scored a very impressive victory against Japanese superstar Keiji Mutoh, who has wrestles in the US as The Great Muta.

MT: That's a good point Dave. Even though Scott Hall has not been on WCW television as of late, he hasn't been idle. And he had better hope that he's in top form again tonight, as Vader is sure to show no mercy. And now fans, as I was saying before that last interruption, coming up next we're going to see a match between two men with, well, completely opposite styles. Kurt Angle, who personifies pure wrestling ability, will be taking on Hardcore Hak, a man who very much favors the style of wrestling he is named after.

DM: It'll be interesting to see which style comes out on top here tonight Tenay. Although with the problems Hak has been having with Raven the past few weeks, you have to wonder if his head is totally in the game.

MT: We'll find out shortly. But first, some comments from Kurt Angle taped earlier this evening.

**It's nothing personal**

*We cut to a pre-taped interview as Kurt Angle is standing somewhere in the back with a mic*

Kurt Angle: I'm not going to sugarcoat this, because quite frankly, I'm a little...no, I'm VERY ticked off. You see, like I've said before, I was told that when I signed with WCW I would be facing the best that the professional wrestling world has to offer. Man, what a lie that's turned out to be. Not one man I've faced has been anywhere NEAR my level of expertise in the ring. And my opponent tonight is the biggest joke of all. I mean, Hardcore Hak? The guy probably thinks that amateur wrestling involves two guys standing out back behind the local bar having a fistfight. I mean, seriously, this guy has absolutely ZERO pure wrestling talent. Quite frankly, it's not really worth my time to go out there tonight. But I'm going to do it, and for one reason. So that I can prove to Hak, and to everyone else, that no one, and I mean NO one can match me in the ring. NO one.

*Angle stares into the camera for a moment, before slowly walking off screen*

(90%; Kurt Angle gained overness)

DM: You know Tenay, you're probably going to disagree with me, but I think Kurt Angle is 100% correct. Hak isn't 1/100th the wrestler Angle is, and I think Angle is going to prove that here tonight.

MT: Actually Dave, I DO agree with you somewhat. Hardcore Hak, as his name indicate, is not going to be coming out here and showing off flashy holds and great chain wrestling. He isn't going to be using a variety of submission holds, or holds and counter-holds. But I think that Angle would be foolish to underestimate Hak's brawling, because Hak is VERY talented when it comes to toe-to-toe confrontation.

DM: Well, all I can say is that Hak better come out strong and try to finish Angle quickly, because if Angle gets a hold on him, Hak's as good as gone.

MT: Let's head back to the ring for that match fans.

**Kurt Angle vs. Hardcore Hak**

Hak enters first to a warm reaction from the crowd, while Angle...doesn't. The fans immediately start to boo as soon as his music hits, and continue as he comes down the aisle. Angle doesn't seem to notice them however, and instead focuses on his opponent. The match begins much like other Kurt Angle matches begin, with him using his superior mat skills to take his opponent down. He celebrates one time too many however, and Hak is able to retaliate with a big left hand, knocking Angle silly. Hak continues to punch away at Angle, showing that his brawling skills match up very well with Angles technical skill. Hak uses every weapon in his book, including a nice Spinebuster to try to put Angle away. Angle continues to kick out, which eventually frustrates Hak. After yet another 2 count, Hak decides to finish the match with a big move, and heads up top (!). As he waits, Angle slowly rises to his feet. Hak comes off with what looks to be a Double Axehandle (!!) but Angle moves, causing Hak to nail the ref instead. As Hak checks on the ref Angle sneaks up behind him and attempts an Olympic Slam. Hak slides off his back however, turning Angle around and hitting him with another Spinebuster. Hak then goes over to try to revive the ref again, but is again halted as a figure jumps out of the crowd. Of course, it's Raven, who spins Hak around and drops him with an Evenflow DDT, knocking Hak out. As the ref slowly revives, Angle is able to drape an arm over Hak, gaining the victory off of the pinfall.

*Angle rolls out of the ring slowly to the boos of the fans. Raven jumps back in the ring, staring at Hak. As the ref finally gets to his feet, he sees Raven in the ring and attempts to get him to leave, which earns HIM and Evenflow DDT. Raven turns and faces the fans, making the crucifix with his arms. However, his unique "celebration" is stopped as Hal has gotten to his feet. He spins Raven around and starts to nail him with left and right hands repeatedly. He winds up for a big shot, but Raven ducks and quickly exits the ring, half running/half stumbling up the aisle*

(72/74/87; **3/4)

MT: Yet again we see Raven get involved in a match. I don't know why he seems to have chosen Hak, but obviously Hak himself is fed up with Raven.

DM: All I know is, the two are on a collision course, and it's NOT going to be pretty when it happens. And of course, there's still the mysterious "They" that Raven has referred to. You have to wonder if "They" will get involved at some point.

MT: With Raven, you can never tell Dave. Fans, I've just received word that coming up next, we're going to hear form two men we saw arrive earlier, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Let's go to the back.

**Hey Yo part 2**

*We go once again backstage where Scott Hall stands with Kevin Nash. Nash begins to speak*

Kevin Nash: I'm not gonna stand here and talk for a long time. I know that my good buddy here has some things to say, and quite frankly, I have more important things to do myself. But I DID want to say a few words concerning...Goldberg. You see, me and Goldberg have a nice long history together. Yeah, we've been around the block more than a few times. And I guess maybe Eric Bischoff figured people were tired of seeing us go at it, so he decided to put a stop to things by signing a cage match for Uncensored. You know, I really don't think Eric knows exactly what he's done by signing that match. You see, I have a friend up north, who has a little experience in cages. In fact, you might even say this guy's a Showstopper. And so I figured I'd give him a call and get some tips on how to handle big bad Goldberg in the cage. So Goldberg, keep that belt polished and shining reeeeaaaallll nice. Because after Superbrawl, it's gonna be back around my waist. Here ya go Scott...

*Nash hands the mic off to Hall, who stands there looking into the camera for a moment before finally speaking*

Scott Hall: Hey yo. Hey listen, Vader? Man, I got off that plane from Japan a few days ago and found out that I got to face YOU tonight? Man, I thought I'd died and gone to Heaven. Cause Vader, you can't hang with me. I've got too much charisma, too much talent, hell, too much MACHISMO for you to handle. So tonight, in that ring, it's just gonna be one more for the good guys.

*After this rather brief speech by Hall, the two men make the Wolfpac hand symbol and walk off screen together*

(86%)

MT: Well, Hall and Nash both certainly seem confident in themselves.

DM: And why not? They're not only two of the biggest names in wrestling, but they're also one of the best tag teams in the world today. I'd be confident too, if I knew that I had Scott Hall or Kevin Nash backing ME up.

MT: You may be right Dave.

DM: Of course I'm right.

MT: Well, whatever your opinion on THAT matter is, coming up next it's a FACT that Chris Jericho will team up once again with Buff Bagwell, as they take on Chris Benoit and Chris Daniels in tag team action. The saga between Bagwell and Benoit has been raging the past several weeks, and this past Thunder Chris Daniels scored a pinfall victory over Jericho! Jericho requested this match as a way to get revenge on young Chris Daniels, as well as serve as another way to keep his most persistent rival, Booker T, off of his tracks for one more night.

DM: Well, he's certainly managed to do that in the past few weeks Tenay. I don't think Booker T has given up on Jericho just yet though.

MT: I wouldn't think so either Dave. Booker T wants another shot at that Television title around Jericho's waist, but he'll have to wait at least one more night, as Jericho is featured in tag team action, coming up next!

**Chris Jericho/Buff Bagwell vs. Chris Benoit/Chris Daniels**

Both teams enter to opposite reactions, and the action is quickly underway, with Daniels and Bagwell in the ring. Daniels uses his excellent technical skills and speed to keep Bagwell off balance, hitting Buff with several big moves, including a nice springboard dropkick that almost ends the match very quickly. Bagwell is able to kick out, and a low blow soon enables him to tag in Jericho. The Television Champion quickly goes to work on Daniels, using some of his "Japan" offense to keep Daniels down. Jericho even goes to the top rope to attempt a crossbody, but misses as Daniels ducks out of the way. With Jericho down, Daniels has a chance to tag in Chris Benoit, who enters and begins to redden Jericho's chest with a series of blistering chops. Benoit begins to totally dominate the match, keeping Jericho from making a tag with some explosive offense, including a huge Release German Suplex, which earns another 2 count on Jericho. Benoit keeps up the pressure, using a variety of suplexes mixed with mat holds to try to wear Jericho down. Finally, Jericho is able to stage a brief comeback after Benoit misses a clothesline, letting Jericho nail one of his own. Jericho even hits a Lionsault on Benoit, but is too weak to cover. Jericho and Benoit crawl towards their respective corners, making the tag at the same time. Daniels and Bagwell enter, both fired up, begin to go at it. Once again however, Chris Daniels gets the upper hand, and after hitting a corkscrew attack off the tope rope looks to have the match won. Bagwell gets his foot in the rope to break up the count, but he is still down and seems to be ready to be pinned. Daniels picks him up for the Double Underhook Powerbomb, but Jericho sneaks in the ring and hits a low blow, doubling Daniels over in pain. This brings Benoit in the ring, but unfortunately, the ref didn't see the low blow and goes over to keep Benoit out. This allows Jericho to re-enter the ring and hit a Lionsault on Daniels. When the ref turns around, he sees Jericho covering Daniels, and counts the three, forgetting that Bagwell was the legal man!

*Jericho immediately begins to put the boots to Daniels, as Bagwell cuts Benoit off by knocking him outside the ring. Daniels looks to be in serious trouble, but help is on the way as Booker T comes down the aisle, causing Jericho to clear out of the ring. Booker gestures for Jericho to hold on, then calls for a mic. When he is given one, he begins to speak*

(78/81/93; ***)

**The Book lays down the law**

Booker T: Jericho, I want your punk ass to listen up, and listen good. I'm sick and tired of you and your boy there coming out here and getting cheap win after cheap win. Yeah, you might have won this match, but you had to CHEAT to do it. But you see, I can understand why you do the things you do. Cause you KNOW that you can't compete with someone like Chris Benoit. You know you can't compete with someone like Chris Daniels. And you DAMN sure know you can't compete with Booker T.

*The crowd roars with approval at this statement*

Booker T: So Jericho, I got a proposition for you. And it's not like the proposition Buff tries to give you every night in bed either. You see, you got some gold around that punk waist, and I'm tired of seeing it there. Now, the way I figure, if anybody deserves one more shot at that title, it's ME. So, what I want, is a shot at that Title, at Uncensored. But since Uncensored isn't sanctioned by WCW, I think we need to raise the stakes a little. So, at Uncensored, whatchoo think about Chris Jericho versus Booker T, in a match where you CAN'T cheat, you CAN'T get a cheap win, in an I QUIT match. Huh, sucka? You and me, I Quit, Uncensored?

*Jericho stares straight at Booker T. He then slowly nods his head, agreeing to the match*

Booker T: I'm glad you see things my way. Cause at Uncensored, yo ass is gonna be screaming I QUIT all night long.

*The fans react strongly to this announcement, obviously excited about seeing another Booker T/Jericho confrontation. As Booker soaks in the cheers, Jericho slowly walks backwards until he is behind the curtain, never taking his eyes off of Booker T*

(89%)

MT: Wow! What a match for Uncensored! Booker T and Chris Jericho have arguably stolen the show at the last two Pay-Per-Views, and the stakes have just been raised a little bit higher. An I Quit match!

DM: You know Tenay, this kind of match is extremely dangerous to everyone involved. The only way to win is to beat your opponent so badly that he has no choice but to give up. And with two men like Booker T and Jericho, it's going to take a lot of punishment for EITHER man to say I Quit.

MT: You're right about that Dave. But I can't help but be excited about seeing Jericho defend his Title against Booker T again. One more match to look forward to at Uncensored. We should also note that Booker T may go into that match as the US Champion, as he faces Bret Hart for that Title later on tonight. Now fans, coming up next, we're going to see an interesting match. As you all know, the Tag Team Champions, The Triad, have had their problems with Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr. as of late. And their solution seems to be to send Bam Bam Bigelow out to try to injure Rey and Kidman in order to prevent them from being able to issue a serious challenge. This continues tonight, as Bigelow will take on Kidman, one on one.

DM: This is another mis-match in styles Tenay. Kidman will have to use his superior speed to try to keep Bigelow off balance. If Kidman gets caught by Bam Bam, it's all over.

MT: That match is coming up right now fans.

**Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Kidman**

Bam Bam makes his way to the ring to a large round of boos from the fans. Accompanying him is none other than Diamond Dallas Page, who draws an even LOUDER negative reaction from the crowd. Kidman enters to more support form the fans, although one in particular seems to be paying EXTRA close attention to him. The same blond female as was seen before is once again sitting at ringside. This time, Kidman stops when she gestures for him to come over to her, and when he does, she gives him a big hug and kiss on the cheek. Kidman looks to be puzzled, but extremely happy as he enters the ring. The feeling does not last long though, as Bam Bam attacks as soon as Kidman is in the ring. He pounds away on Kidman, using his strength to try to beat Kidman down before he can start flying. Bigelow uses an array of power moves, and almost puts Kidman through the ring with a massive powerslam. Bigelow won't go for the pin however, and continually pulls Kidman to his feet for more punishment. He whips Kidman into a corner, and attempts a charge, only for Kidman to move out of the way, letting Bigelow slam full speed into the corner. This gives Kidman a breather, and a chance to take over on offense, which he does. Kidman follows Meltzer's strategy, using a variety of dropkicks and flying forearms, as well as other fast paced moves to get Bigelow disoriented. He almost scores a victory after he nails a clothesline from the second rope, but Bigelow is able to kick out, causing DDP to sigh with relief. Kidman then goes up top to attempt a Shooting Star Press, but he takes too long staring at DDP on the outside, and Bigelow gets back to his feet. Bam Bam grabs Kidman form the top rope and quickly drops him down into Greetings From Asbury Park, which is more than enough to get the 1-2-3 on Kidman.

*As Kidman lays on the mat wounded, DDP yells at Bam Bam to do it again. Bigelow complies, picking up Kidman and delivering ANOTHER Greetings From Asbury Park, which leaves Kidman crumpled on the mat. As the paramedics come out to attend to Kidman, the blond woman can be seen with her hand to her mouth, apparently very upset at what has just happened*

(67/67/83; **1/2)

DM: You know, Kidman may be seriously injured after that last move Tenay. He seems to be moving ok, but I'm not sure what kind of injuries he might have sustained to the neck there.

MT: All I know is that someday, The Triad is going to push things too far, and someone IS going to get seriously injured. Kidman and Rey Mysterio have been on the receiving end of huge amounts of punishment from The Triad. You have to wonder how much longer they can withstand the beatings they're taking.

DM: I do have to wonder about that blond woman also Tenay. She seems to have a particular interest in Kidman. Do you know anything about her?

MT: All I know is that she looks to be a very attractive young lady, who also seems to be taken with Kidman.

DM: Yeah, and I have to say, she's got GREAT legs.

MT: Dave...

DM: Sorry Tenay. Now fans, last week you saw Bret Hart call out "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair to the ring. And you also saw Ric Flair leave the building after that announcement. I've had a lot of people ask me what's going on with Ric Flair. And the answer is, I don't know. Nobody knows, except Ric Flair himself. I think that it even caught Bret Hart by surprise Tenay.

MT: I agree Dave. After his controversial loss to Bret Hart at Superbrawl, Ric Flair just doesn't seem to be himself. Well tonight, Bret Hart has vowed that he's going to get to the bottom of this, and call Ric Flair out again. As a matter of fact, I believe it's time for him to do just that...

**Calling out "The Nature Boy"**

*The music for Bret Hart plays, and "The Hitman" enters to massive boos from everywhere in the crowd. He makes his way to the ring, smirking at the fans as he goes down the aisle. He enters the ring with a mic in his hand, and begins to speak*

Bret Hart: You know something, life's funny sometimes, isn't it? I mean, I came to WCW, and I wasn't expecting to ruin another person’s life. I mean, all I wanted to do last month at Superbrawl was to beat Ric Flair and prove that he's washed up. I had no idea that Ric would take it so hard. I mean, just because he's an old, washed up loser doesn't mean that he's worthless. I mean, he can always collect retirement money and play golf all day. So Ric, come on out here. I want to see you face to face, so we can settle this thing once and for all. Come on out here.

*Bret waits, and finally the familiar music of Ric Flair plays, bringing the crowd to its feet. But when Flair comes out, it's not the cocky, confident Flair everyone is used to. He walks out slowly, with his head down, trudging his way to the ring. When he gets to the ring, Bret makes a show out of holding the ropes open and "applauding" for The Nature Boy. He then raises the mic to speak again*

Bret Hart: There there Ric, it's ok. See, no hard feelings, right? I mean, I know that I beat you at the PPV. And I know that I exposed you for the has been that you are and ruined what little life you had left. But look on the bright side. Since you've realized this, maybe now you can take your rightful place, in the AUDIENCE. Because you see Ric, that's where you belong. The WRESTLERS belong in the ring, and the has-beens belong in the crowd. As a matter of fact, I'll give you a great chance to witness a true champion in action here tonight. You see, here in just a minute, I'm going to be defending my US Title against Booker T. And I see an extra chair here at ringside that looks perfect for you. So why don't you go have a seat, relax, and enjoy watching someone who can still get it done, GET IT DONE.

*Bret gestures towards the chair again. Flair stares down at the mat, before slowly leaving and sitting hunched over in the chair*

(88%)

MT: Fans, I don't really know what to say here. It seems like Ric Flair, a true legend, and ICON in this sport, has just...given up. He's seated now at ringside for this next match. My apologies to Booker T, as this is a great opportunity for him, but my mind is on Ric Flair right now.

DM: I don't think you need to apologize Tenay. I'm sure LOTS of people are thinking about Ric Flair right now. Let's just try to do this next match justice.

**Booker T vs. Bret Hart©; US Championship match**

With Hart already in the ring, the fans only have to wait for Booker T's entrance. They come to their feet and "raise the roof" as Booker comes back out for his second appearance of the evening, though everyone, including Booker, seems confused by Ric Flair's actions. Booker is quickly able to shift his focus to the task at hand however, and as the match begins, seems to be the aggressor, taking it right to Bret Hart with punches and chops. Hart seems a little taken aback by the offensive onslaught, but manages to slow things down when he clips Booker's knee. Hart tried to change the tempo of the match by working Booker's knee, but Booker keeps fighting back and forcing Hart to abandon his game plan. Eventually, Booker makes another mistake when he goes for an Axe Kick too early and misses, bringing his leg down hard, and allowing Bret to clothesline him to the mat. Bret then looks over at Flair and, in the ultimate insult, throws a WHOOOOOOOO in as he slaps on the figure four leglock on Booker T! Booker is obviously in great pain, but won't submit to the hold, and fights to turn it over, or at least reach the ropes. He finally is able to do so, grabbing the bottom rope, forcing Hart to break the hold...Except that Hart won't break, and hangs on, ignoring the referee's warning. The ref goes to signal for the DQ, only to find someone has grabbed his arm. That someone is Ric Flair! Flair rolls into the ring as Hart finally breaks the hold. He gets up and stands face to face with Flair. The two stare at each other for a long moment, before Hart suddenly smiles, and reaches up to pat Flair on the cheek. He then goes to turn back to Booker, only to have Flair spin him around and begin to UNLOAD on him with huge chops! The fans go crazy, as the ref has no choice but to DQ Booker T.

*Flair continues to chop the hell out of Hart as the entire arena erupts in massive cheers. Hart tries to beg off, but is caught as he attempts to leave the ring, and pulled down to the mat. Flair looks around at the crowd, who cheer even louder. He then spins around and locks on the Figure Four Leglock on Bret Hart, which causes the crowd to explode yet again. Hart screams in pain as Flair refuses to let go of the hold, finally having to be pried off by a group of officials. As the medics tend to Hart, Flair is going crazy in the other part of the ring, WHOOOOOOOing and playing to the fans. Booker, despite his loss, seems to be enjoying this as much as Flair, and stops him just long enough to raise his hand and give him a hug in the middle of the ring*

(79/86/90; ***; US Title gained image)

MT: What a moment that was! Ric Flair just seemed to SNAP on Bret Hart right here in the middle of that ring!

DM: You know, everyone was wondering what Ric Flair was thinking, and why he wasn't responding to Bret Hart. I think you all saw why Flair was holding back right there. He was afraid that if he snapped, he might KILL Hart. He nearly broke Bret's leg with that Figure Four Tenay.

MT: I can't think of a better man for it to happen to Dave. Now hopefully, this will lead to a rematch from Superbrawl where Ric Flair can prove himself AGAIN to Bret Hart.

DM: Eric Bischoff, if you're listening, I think I speak for everyone here when I say that this rematch would be PERFECT for Uncensored.

MT: That's a great idea Dave. We'll have to see if Bischoff takes you up on your idea. Fans, coming up next is our main event of the evening. But first, a quick announcement. During the last match, I received word that in addition to Booker T and Chris Jericho in an I Quit match for the Television Title, another championship match has been added to Uncensored, as Dean Malenko will receive his shot at the Cruiserweight Title. That should be a great addition to what's shaping up to be a very exciting card Dave.

DM: No word on a stipulation for that match Tenay?

MT: None that I'm aware of.

DM: Good. Two men of that caliber, in a match for that title, need to decide their issue one on one, without any gimmicks. Of course, the same could be said for the other matches already signed for Uncensored.

MT: But I agree that this match will be a nice change of pace from the violence we're going to be facing elsewhere that night. Well now fans, it's the moment we've been talking about all evening. The Man Called Vader makes his in-ring return to WCW against Scott Hall, and it happens, NOW!

**Vader vs. Scott Hall**

Hall enters to the Wolfpac music, sauntering to the ring to a chorus of boos from the crowd. After he is in the ring, the words It's Time, It's Time, It's VADER TIME! fill the screen as Vader enters to a huge reaction from the crowd. As soon as he enters the ring, the action is on, with both men trading punches in the center. Hall throws a barrage of right hands at Vader, but the big man seems to absorb them without taking much damage, and fires back with some stiff shots of his own. Vader knocks Hall backwards, then takes him down with a big Avalanche as Hall rebounds off of the ropes. Vader then drops down with a big splash, almost pinning Hall for the three Hall manages to kick out however, and uses a low blow when the ref turns his head, which stops Vader's momentum. Hall continues to pound away at Vader, unable to use many of his signature moves due to the size of his opponent. Hall does manage to pick Vader up and slam him, but only manages a one count. No matter what Hall tries, Vader won't stay down, and in fact manages to take Hall down once again thanks to another Avalanche. More power moves by Vader, including a body slam of his own followed by a series of elbow drops, leave Hall close to defeat. As Vader drags Hall's body to corner for a big Vader Bomb, Kevin Nash comes "running" down the aisle. He "jumps" up on the ring apron, trying to distract Vader. For a moment it works, as Vader leaves Hall to attend to Nash. He starts to pummel Nash on the apron with big right hands, which allows Hall to get back to his feet. Hall runs at Vader, but the big man senses the trap and moves, allowing Hall to crash into Nash at full speed. This knocks Nash off of the apron and leaves Hall dizzy. He stumbles around, only to be met by another Vader right hand that knocks him to his knee. Before he can stand, Vader grabs him, and puts him in position for a big Powerbomb. Before Hall can fight it off, Vader flips him up into the air, and brings him crashing down hard to the mat, covering him and gaining the 3 and his first victory since rejoining WCW!

*Vader stares down at Hall as Nash looks on from outside. Vader is yelling at Nash to come into the ring, but he never gets the chance. Nash waves Vader off, only to be FLATTENED by a Spear from Goldberg! The World Champion levels Nash with the move, leaving him down on the floor, while Hall is down in the ring.*

(73/83/82; **3/4)

MT: What a moment fans! Goldberg and Vader have taken out both Scott Hall AND Kevin Nash! It looks like Eric Bischoff's enforcer has done his job, at least for tonight!

DM: Yeah, but what will Hall and Nash do for revenge? You know they won't just take this lying down.

MT: I don't know, but I'm sure we'll find out in the weeks to come, as we build up to Uncensored! Fans, we're out of time for this evening. Don't forget Thunder on Thursday, and Nitro next Monday! Have a great evening!

*As the show closes, we are left with a shot of Goldberg outside the ring and Vader, who is still inside the ring, both receiving chants and cheers from the crowd for what they have done this evening*

Overall: 78 AAAAAGH I HATE "One of those days" shows.

Tuesday, March 16th:

*Ok, NOW I'm worried. It's past time for Sophie to be here, and I haven't heard anything form her. Not a WORD. Of course, she DID seem pretty pissed off when she left. Hmm, I wonder if she got the flowers. Oh well...*

Me: Guess I'd better get to work anyway.

*Suddenly, there is a knock at the door. It opens a crack and something white, resembling...a pair of WRESTLING TIGHTS appears? Then I see who's on the other END of those tights*

Sophie: Hi. In case you're wondering, I couldn't find a white flag, so I thought these would be the next best thing. Listen, I'm really sorry about what happened. It was just, well, I was in a weird mood that day.

Me: I understand. And I'm sorry too. I was a lot more abrupt with you than I meant to be. I'm just, well, buried right now, what with everything that's going on.

Sophie: I know. And I also know that you'll have everything ready for when it needs to be. So I decided I'm going to stop worrying about it myself, and let you concentrate on getting it done in YOUR time. This could be huge, and I certainly don't want to be the one responsible for screwing it up.

Me: And neither do I. Look, let's put all of that behind us, ok? In fact, it never happened. So did you get the stat sheet for last night?

Sophie: Yes I did, and well, you're probably not gonna be really happy. Last night was "one of those nights" again.

Me: Man that SUCKS. Especially since we were setting up some more matches for the PPV. What was the approval rating?

Sophie: It was still pretty decent. 78%. But some of the big matches just didn't seem to "click" with some of the crowd. But I still thought everything went well. And as for the matches that we set up, those seemed to get the most favorable responses yet. Now, as far as TV rating...

Me: Yes?

Sophie: 6.83. Down a little, but nothing to worry about. Network is still VERY pleased, and I think I heard that the WWF was down slightly too.

Me: At least we didn't nosedive. Sophie, did you get a chance to look at the card for Uncensored?

Sophie: I did, and I think we've got another winner on our hands. Should be some good solid matches. And a few of them will even have some actual WRESTLING in them, ha ha ha.

Me: *laughing along with her* Yeah, amazing isn't it? Considering that Uncensored is all about the crazy stipulations.

Sophie: Yep. But seriously, the card should be good. Although, we only have a few more shows left, so I hope that we can set up the rest of the matches pretty quickly.

Me: We can. I mean, most of them are based around the storylines we’ve been running anyway. Just a couple that need a quick setup, and we'll be all ready. Speaking of which I still need to put the finishing touches on Thunder. Hey, can you do me a favor? Go talk to the production guys and see if they can come up with a logo for the PPV. I want something that'll really set this apart. Plus, it helps us push the PPV better.

Sophie: No problem. I've got some ideas of my own, and I'm sure we can all come up with something. I'll get on it right away.

Me: Thanks Sophie. I'll have the Thunder booking sheet to you in about an hour or so. If you come up with something before then, just bring it by and I'll take a look at it.

Sophie: Will do. Oh, and thanks.

Me: For what?

Sophie: For being so understanding.

Me: Understanding about what Sophie?

Sophie: About...oh, I get your point. Yeah, so anyway, I'll see you later.

Me: Gotcha. Bye for now.

*She exits, and leaves me alone, but MUCH relieved. I was really worried that she might not EVER come back. And quite frankly, that scared the hell out of me. Sophie does so much for me around here. We're a team. And I sure don't want to lose my teammate. MAN this is starting to get deep. Gotta stop that. And anyway, I've got to work on Thunder. It needs to be good, especially with only 3 more shows to the PPV. Let's see now...*

WCW.com, in conjunction with WCW: The Magazine, has released the following preview for tomorrow nights edition of WCW Thunder:

Thursday, March 18th:

Thunder!

*An explosion of pyrotechnics welcomes the television viewing audience, as well as the in-arena crowd of 7521 to another edition of WCW Thunder. As the music slowly fades, we join our announcer at ringside*

*Our announcers for this evening are of course Mike Tenay and “Dustin’s Daddy if ya weeeeeelllll” Dusty Rhodes. The discuss the events of this past Nitro briefly, before announcing that our first match is coming up NOW*

**Chris Daniels vs. Chavo Guerrero, Jr.**

As the two men make their way to the ring, Tenay informs us that this is another match made by Eric Bischoff to showcase some of the young talent in WCW. He also speculates that this match will be closely watched for a possible title shot in the near future. The two lock up, and begin a very back and forth match, featuring several high-flying moves from both men. After several minutes of this action, Daniels picks up the win when he nails Chavo with a Double Underhook Powerbomb (gotta think of a name for that one).

*Daniels attempts to shake Chavo’s hand after the match, but Chavo angrily refuses and leaves the ring in a huff, as Daniels just shrugs his shoulders*

(82/73/92; ***1/4)

Our announcers begin to discuss the upcoming events of the evening, when they are interrupted by Daniels, who has a mic and is still standing in the ring.

**Daniels speaks out**

Chris Daniels: Thank you. I asked for this brief time to say a few words to the WCW fans. Now, I know that over the past few months, you’ve all seen me come out here and try to entertain you in the ring, and I like to think I’ve been successful. But a few things have nee bothering me. Lately, I’ve had to face Chris Jericho and Buff Bagwell several times. And I’ve noticed that these two men, along with some of the other WCW Wrestlers, have to resort to cheap, underhanded tactics in order to gain victories. Now I don’t know about any of you people out there, but quite frankly, I’m TIRED of deserving wrestlers getting screwed over by those kind of cheap shot artists. That’s why I’m issuing a warning to everyone in WCW. If you face me, be prepared, because this is ONE wrestler who’s NOT going to put up with your tactics anymore. And I don’t care who it is. Not to sound corny, but I’m here to WRESTLE, plain and simple. And that’s what I’m going to continue to do, and do better than anyone has ever seen. And THAT’S, a promise…

*Daniels hands the mic back to the ring announcer, taking time to thank him for it’s use, before leaving, slapping hands with the fans as he walks back up the aisle*

(83%)

The announcers discuss Daniels newfound intensity, but also mention that his “clean cut” wrestling ways seem to be paying off for him. As they finish speaking, some familiar music begins to play…

**Da Bisch is in da house**

*The music is for Eric Bischoff, who walks slowly out onto the stage, holding a mic and smiling at the fans. He raises the mic to his mouth and begins to speak*

Eric Bischoff: I’m not going to take up too much time here this evening. I know that you’re all anxious to get back to the great in-ring action that WCW has become known for. But I DID want to come out here and make a few announcements. First off, concerning our upcoming Pay-Per-View, Uncensored. First off, I need to CONFIRM the Eddie Guerrero-Dean Malenko match for the Cruiserweight Title, and announce that there will be no stipulation with this match. Second, Booker T and Chris Jericho are also confirmed for an “I Quit” match. And I also nee to announce a few OTHER matches as well. Firstly, for the Tag Team Titles, The Triad will defend against the team of Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr., in a rematch from a few weeks ago. There will also be another rematch, this time of a match from Superbrawl. As you all know, at Superbrawl Bret “The Hitman” Hart defeated Ric Flair in a somewhat controversial manner. Well at Uncensored, Ric Flair will have his chance for revenge, as he takes on Bret Hart again. Now, we all saw what happened on Nitro. And this gave me an idea. See, when Ric Flair locked on that Figure Four Leglock, I heard Bret Hart scream in pain, and I saw the anguish on his face. I’ve been in that hold myself, and believe me, it’s worse than it looks. And that got me thinking, what about…a Submission match? Bret Hart has the Sharpshooter, and Ric Flair has the Figure Four Leglock, and at Uncensored all of you will be able to see which is the more painful hold. And hopefully, this will settle their issue once and for all. Now this brings me to next Monday, and Nitro. Last week, my personal enforcer Vader defeated Scott Hall. However, after the match, Kevin Nash decided to become involved, only to be stopped by our World Champion, Goldberg. Therefore, this coming Monday night, in the main event, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, also known as The Outsiders, will take on Vader and Goldberg in a tag team match, with NO disqualifications and NO countouts. And let me promise all of you one thing. That match, is going to be one of the most physically punishing matches you will ever see. And Nash, Hall, I hope that you two are up to it. Because I’m sure that these fans here, can’t wait to see the two of you get taken out, live on Nitro. Thank you, and have a good evening.

*Bischoff exits as the crowd cheers in approval of his various announcements*

(87%)

Rhodes and Tenay discuss the matches Bischoff has made, and speculate that the main event on Nitro could be a classic old fashioned brawl, which Rhodes reminds everyone that he is an expert at. They then send us to our next match for the evening.

**Dean Malenko vs. Juventud Guerrera**

Tenay advises everyone that Malenko requested this match in order to prepare for his shot at the Cruiserweight Title. He also apologizes for the mis-print on the Thunder preview listing Kidman as the other participant in the match. The two men wrestle a fairly fast paced match, with Juvi of course favoring high-flying moves while Malenko tries to slow him down on the ground. After a missed dropkick from the top, Juvi lands hard on his back, allowing Malenko to lock in the Texas Cloverleaf, which forces Juvi to eventually submit, giving Malenko the victory.

*The two men shake hands in a display of sportsmanship that has the crowd applauding. However, as Malenko makes his way down the aisle, he is attacked from the side by Eddie Guerrero, who beats Dean down, going so far as to throw him head first into the side of the stage, before leaving with a big smile on his face*

(78/71/85; ***)

Tenay and Rhodes talk about their disgust at Eddie’s actions, and both say that they hope that Dean makes him tap at Uncensored to restore some respectability to the Cruiserweight Title. Afterwards, the switch topics to Ric Flairs actions on Nitro, specifically the way he seemed to SNAP on Bret Hart. Tenay says that Ric Flair requested time on Thunder to explain his actions, and that it’s coming up next.

**Ric Flair WHOOOO is MAD**

*We go backstage, where Ric Flair is standing, speaking directly to the camera*

Ric Flair: WHOOO, I know lots of people are wanting to know, what’s on Ric Flair’s mind. Well let me tell you what the Nature Booooy’s, WHOOO, been thinking. See, Bret Hart, you made a big mistake pal. At Superbrawl, you tried to make Ric Flair look like a fool. And it almost worked. After I lost that match, I started to ask myself, Do I have what it takes anymore? Can I get it done when it counts? And those are questions that Ric Flair has NEVER asked himself before. But then, something inside of me, came up and said, Nature Boy, WHOO, Bret Hart didn’t beat you. Bret Hart couldn’t go one on one with you and beat you fair and square in the middle of the ring. Bret Hart wasn’t MAN enough to beat Ric Flair. So that’s why, at Nitro, it felt SO good to put Bret Hart in the Figure Four and listen to him scream for his life, BEGGING The Nature Boy, saying “Please Ric, please don’t hurt me anymore”. Well Bret Hart, at Uncensored pal, you can beg, you can plead, you can scream all you want. But in the end, it’s not going to be Ric Flair that walks out of the arena wondering if he has what it takes. Because, at Uncensored, I’m going to break your leg in half. And that’s not a promise, WHOOO, that’s a guarantee!

*Flair WHOOOO’s a few more times as the crowd goes crazy in response to his intensity, whooing right along with him*

(99%; damn, so close to a Unique gimmick for Flair; Ric Flair gained overness)

Rhodes tells everyone that he’s seen Ric Flair get worked up before, and that when it happens, everyone needs to look out, because he can be a dangerous man. Tenay agrees with that statement, before announcing the next match of the evening, a 6-man tag match, featuring The Triad against Kidman, Rey Mysterio, Jr. and a mystery partner.

**The Triad vs. Rey Mysterio, Jr./Kidman/confused.gif**

The announcers speculate as to who the mystery partner could be, as the teams make their way to the ring. After a brief moment of anticipation, the music hits, revealing the mystery partner to be none other than Eric Bischoff’s personal WCW enforcer, Vader! Tenay says that after some of The Triads actions, he’s not surprised to see Vader get involved, wanting to try to put a stop to their underhanded actions. The action begins with all 6 men in the ring for several minutes, before finally settling down. Much like the evenings other matches, this one goes back and forth, with both teams having the advantage at various times. In the end, Vader and Bam Bam are fighting outside the ring, with Rey and Kanyon also brawling in the aisle. In the ring, DDP uses a low blow on Kidman when the ref’s back is turned, along with a Diamond Cutter, to gain the victory for his team.

*The Triad hightails it up the aisle, leaving a fuming Vader with Kidman and Mysterio in the ring*

(76/68/84; ***)

Tenay says that even with Vader in the match, The Triad managed to find a way to cheat a victory, and questions if Kidman and Rey will be able to overcome those kinds of things at Uncensored. Rhodes then breaks in and announces that the next match of the evening is coming up right NOW.

**Chris Jericho© vs. British Bulldogl Television Title match**

Our announcers reveal that this match was a last minute signing by Eric Bischoff, who stated that the Television Title needed to be defended on every show if possible. Both men enter to large reactions from the crowd, though they seem to REALLY hate Jericho. Unlike the other matches, after a few minutes of great chain wrestling (!) this one is fairly one sided, with Jericho playing defense while the Bulldog uses his power moves to dominate. After several minutes of intense punishment however, Jericho reverses an attempted Bulldog Powerslam into an inverted DDT, followed up by a Lionsault for the victory.

*Jericho looks to be attempting to continue the assault on the Bulldog, but the sudden appearance of Booker T coming down the aisle (apparently early for HIS match, yeah) causes Jericho to quickly jump out of the ring and exit through the crowd*

(88/84/92; ****; Hey, what can I say? Jericho is great at selling…)

Tenay says that Booker came down to ensure that Jericho didn’t try anything further with the Bulldog, but Rhodes counters that Booker needs to concentrate more on his rematch with Bret Hart for the US Title, which is our main event tonight. Coincidentally, Rhodes says, that match-up is due to start…Right NOW!

**Booker T vs. Bret Hart©; Us Title match**

With Booker in the ring, the fans only have to wait for Bret Hart to make his way ringside, which he finally does to a large chorus of boos from the crowd. The two men rip into each other immediately, dishing out huge amounts of offense for several minutes, before Hart is able to gain control. After a brief period of dominance however, Booker turns the tables, and begins HIS control of the match. This continues for the remainder of the match, with the momentum shifting every few minutes. In the end however, it’s not either man who decides the outcome, but instead, it’s Chris Jericho, who sneaks back out of the crowd and BLASTS Booker in the back of the head with the Television Title. The ref was being distracted by Hart, and so doesn’t see the interference. Hart covers Booker, and picks up the 1-2-3, much to the crowds displeasure.

*The next few moments re-energize everyone though, because as soon as the ref has counted the three, Ric Flair comes running down the aisle and begins to again unload on both Bret Hart AND Chris Jericho with chops, knocking both men out of the ring, with the crowd going crazy in excitement at seeing Flair in this state of mind*

(87/85/90; ****)

Tenay and Rhodes both express their enjoyment at seeing Flair back to his old self, and remind everyone to tune in to Nitro for more WCW excitement, and especially the tag team main event.

*As the show ends, we see Flair still going nuts in the ring, with him and Booker begging Hart and Jericho to get back in and continue the fight*

Overall: 85 ( :w00t: !!!!!!!)

Friday, March 19th:

*I’m tired. Sick, and tired, of love…Ok, obscure reference, but it’s partially true. I AM tired, but not of love. I’m just tired. So many things have been going down lately, and I’ve been getting ZERO sleep. Once this “major happening” HAPPENS, maybe I’ll be able to rest a little. Right now, I just need to try to concentrate, since Sophie is apparently trying to talk to me…*

Sophie: So overall I thought Thunder was an excellent show.

Me: Huh? What? Oh, I mean, yes, I agree Sophie.

Sophie: You agree with what?

Me: Umm, whatever you said.

Sophie: SOMEbody wasn’t paying attention, was he?

Me: Sorry, I’m just out of things today.

Sophie: It’s understandable. What I was saying is that I thought Thunder was an excellent “old school” wrestling show, with all the interviews and straight wrestling action. In fact, based on audience approval ratings, it’s our best show yet.

Me: Really? What was the final rating?

Sophie: 85%. And the TV ratings backed it up, with a 2.10. So I think a fair amount of people saw the show. I think it helped the build for Uncensored too.

Me: I hope so. I really want to get a huge buyrate for Uncensored. Still have a couple more matches to announce, but nothing too major, and we’re all set.

Sophie: I agree. Things seem to be coming together well right now. And with what’s coming up…

Me: We need things to REALLY come together and get us all the audience support we can muster.

Sophie: Exactly. By the way, I know you’ve still got a few matches for the PPV, but are you going to announce anything about the “major happening” at the PPV or not?

Me: I haven’t decided yet. It may be a game time decision, so to speak.

Sophie: I see. Well, let me know if you decide something sooner than that. Our production guys would like to know asap, so that they can throw something together if need be.

Me: I don’t think that will be necessary anyway. I mean, it WOULD be a surprise to EVERYONE if it happened, right?

Sophie: Hmm, I see your point. Maybe it’s best if we keep things looking like a surprise to EVERYONE, not just the audience.

Me: I think it’s the only way something like this is gonna work. And speaking of work, I need to get some done for Nitro. Can you go talk to the production guys for me, and get them started on the pyro for the PPV? I want it to be big, but maybe something a little different.

Sophie: Gotcha. I’ll get them started on it. Anything else?

Me: Not that I can think if. Thanks a bunch Sophie.

Sophie: Any time. If you need me, just call.

Me: Yep, one call, that’s all.

Sophie: What?

Me: Sorry, in joke from when I lived in Mississippi.

Sophie: O…K…I’ll be going now.

Me: Bye Sophie.

*She leaves, probably still wondering what I was talking about. But that’s alright, as tired as I am today, I wouldn’t be surprised at ANYTHING that I said. Of course, looking at my notes, what I’m WRITING today isn’t much more intelligible. Oh well. Still need to plug forward. Got a lot to do. Lot…to…zzzzzzzzzzzz*

Monday, March 22nd, 7 days before Uncensored:

Nitro!

*The show begins with a typically excellent video of the past few weeks in WCW, focusing on the major events and great matches we have been treated to. Images swirl around the screen as the words: “Uncensored. Only on PPV. No rules. Don’t miss it.” fill the screen*

*8,032 people are jam packed in the arena as the music kicks in and the pyro explodes, welcoming us all to another edition of WCW Monday Nitro. After a quick scan of the signs in the crowd, we are taken to ringside with our announcers for the evening, Mike Tenay and Dave Meltzer*

Mike Tenay: Good evening everybody, and welcome once again to another great night of wrestling action, here on WCW Monday Nitro. As always, I'm sitting here with my broadcast partner, Dave Meltzer, and I can tell you fans, we're sitting here with great anticipation for this evening's action. We have several great matches for you, topped of by our big main event, Goldberg and Vader against The Outsiders.

Dave Meltzer: Don't forget the No-DQ part of that match too Tenay. Personally, I think tonight's main event is going to be a good sample of what we can expect to see at Uncensored. These four men just DON'T like each other, and with DQ's taken out of the equation, there's not TELLING what we're liable to see tonight.

MT: True words Dave. But fans, that’s not all the great action we’re looking forward to. We're also expecting to see Dean Malenko take on Chavo Guerrero, Jr. , Hardcore Hak face Chris Jericho in a non-title match, Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr. against Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon…

DM: I think they get the idea Tenay. And I know I'M ready for some action, so let's get things started in the ring. This match has one of the brightest young stars to come down the road in quite some time, as Chris Daniels will be facing one of the top cruiserweights in the world, Psicosis.

MT: This match will be yet another way for Chris Daniels to show his versatility, as he'll have to adapt his strategy to deal with the explosive high-flying moves of Psicosis. Let's see if he's up to the challenge.

**Psicosis vs. Chris Daniels**

Psicosis makes his way to the ring to some scattered cheers, but the crowd saves the bigger response for Daniels, who plays to the crowd all the way up the aisle, taking time to slap hands with all of the fans at ringside before entering the ring. The two men lock up, and immediately go into a fast paces series of holds and reversals, ending with Daniels being knocked outside the ring by a Psicosis spinning heel kick. Psicosis then wows the crowd by nailing a perfect springboard plash from the top rope all the way down to the floor. After a brief recovery period, Psicosis throws Daniels back into the ring, where he goes to work on him with some more quick strikes, trying to gain an early win. Daniels fights back though, catching Psicosis coming off the ropes with a Stun Gun that puts him down on the mat. Daniels goes up top to attempt a big move, but misses what looks to be a splash when Psicosis moves. With both men winded, the referee begins a ten count, with the fans all counting along. Daniels is up at 8, with Psicosis right behind, and they again begin a series of reversals, this time ending when Daniels catches Psicosis on an attempted dropkick, dropping him head-first onto the mat. When Psicosis stands, Daniels hooks his arms, and delivers a Double Underhook Powerbomb, which is enough to put Psicosis down for the 3 count.

*As the referee raises Daniels hand, Psicosis struggles to his feet. The two men eye each other warily, before Daniels holds out his hand. After staring at it for a few seconds, Psicosis accepts the gesture, and the two men shake, to the approval of the crowd. Afterwards, Daniels hops out of the ring, and again slaps hands with the fans all the way back up the aisle*

(78/64/92; ***)

MT: A hard fought match between those two Dave. And I have to say, it's refreshing to see that kind of sportsmanship after a match, considering the way that SOME wrestlers around here act.

DM: Well, I agree with you on that Tenay, but I have to wonder if maybe Daniels isn't being a little TOO nice. I mean, sure, it's great that the fans all like him, but you have to think that maybe he doesn't have that killer instinct that's necessary to break through to the very top level.

MT: I still think that Chris Daniels has all of the tools to take him to the top of WCW someday soon.

DM: Hey, I'm not saying he's not great. That was just a little friendly advice from me to Chris Daniels.

MT: We'll have to see if he heeds it or not I suppose. Now coming up next fans, let's take a look at a rivalry that's been building for several months now, and at Uncensored, will come to an abrupt ending. I'm talking of course about Ric Flair and Bret Hart. Let's go to the videotape.

**Hart and Flair-One more time**

*As the lights dim, a video rolls, starting off slowly with clips of various interviews from the past three months of the Bret Hart-Ric Flair rivalry. Flair's challenge to Hart, and the subsequent dodging of Hart are shown in detail, along with Flair's match at Genesis against Scott Steiner. More clips follow of backstage and in-ring confrontation, leading up to the classic match at Superbrawl, showing in slow motion the end of the match and the cheap Bret Hart victory. The events of the weeks following are shown next, including Flair snapping on Hart and putting him in the Figure Four Leglock. Finally, Eric Bischoff's announcement of a Submission Match for Uncensored is played, before the video ends with a long look at a very intense Ric Flair's face, staring a hole through "The Hitman".*

(87%)

MT: What a reminder of just why these two great wrestlers will be facing each other at Uncensored. Dave, I have to say, this match is one of my most anticipated of the night.

DM: I agree with you on that one Tenay. Not only am I looking forward to this match because it's two of the greatest wrestlers ever to set foot in the ring, but also because, in my own personal opinion, it's Bret HART that has to prove that HE can "get it done" as he says against Ric Flair.

MT: Now fans, as much as I'm sure we're ALL looking forward to that match, there ARE other matches taking place at Uncensored that deserve close attention. And one of those is the Cruiserweight Title match. Our Cruiserweight Champion, Eddie Guerrero, has done whatever it takes to hold onto his Title over the past few months. But this Sunday, he faces what may be his biggest challenge to date, in a man who is not only a former Tag Team Champion, but a former Cruiserweight Champion in his OWN right, Dean Malenko.

DM: Not only that Tenay, but Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero are long time rivals, not only in WCW, but overseas and in other US organizations. These two know each other inside and out, and I have a feeling we're going to see just another chapter in their great rivalry come Sunday.

MT: But before Dean Malenko can get to Eddie Guerrero, he's going to have to go through Eddie's nephew, Chavo Guerrero, Jr., here tonight. Earlier tonight, Eddie Guerrero and Chavo had some words for Dean Malenko. Let's take a look at what they had to say.

**Eddie and Chavo speak on it, essa**

*We cut to backstage, earlier in the evening, as Eddie Guerrero stands with a mic, while Chavo looks on in the background*

Eddie Guerrero: Listen up essa, cause I'm gonna make this real simple for you, ok? I'm not afraid of you essa. You're NOTHING next to me, and you KNOW IT. But somehow, you seem like you want to stick your nose in my business. And you know what? I DON'T LIKE THAT ESSA! And that's why, at Uncensored, I'm gonna break your body when I come off the top rope with the Frogsplash, but not before I have a chance to beat the HELL out of you, and make sure you NEVER interfere with ME again. Now tonight, essa, Chavo here is gonna give you a sample of what to expect on Sunday at the Pay-Per-View. But Chavo isn't gonna beat you up TOO bad, essa. Because I want to make sure, that there's enough of you left to drag yourself down to the ring, and let me pin you for the 1-2-3. Good luck , essa. Cause you're DEFINITELY gonna need it.

*Eddie pats Chavo on the shoulder and gestures for him to leave, which they both do with a cocky smile on their faces*

(79%)

MT: I'd have to say that confident is one way to describe Eddie Guerrero. Maybe even cocky, Dave.

DM: Well, when you're as good as Eddie Guerrero is, you can afford to be cocky. Dean Malenko is a great wrestler, but Eddie has proven that he's not afraid to get down and dirty to hold onto his title. Malenko's gonna have a tough task come Sunday.

MT: Actually, I'd say the task begins tonight, as he takes on Chavo Guerrero, Jr. in the ring, NEXT.

**Dean Malenko vs. Chavo Guerrero, Jr.**

Chavo makes his way to the ring, accompanied both by his uncle Eddie, and a chorus of boos from the crowd. As the music for the former 4 Horsemen hits, Dean Malenko comes down to the ring with his typical intense expression on his face. The match begins quickly, with the two exchanging some quick holds and counters, before Malenko takes over with a quick drop-toehold into a headlock combo. He works over Chavo on the mat for several minutes, focusing especially on his legs, setting him up for the Texas Cloverleaf. Malenko lets up momentarily, which gives Eddie a chance to grab his foot, distracting him long enough for Chavo to get back to his feet, and catch Dean with a dropkick to the chin. He then goes to work on Dean with some fast paced offense, including a nice backdrop suplex that gains a 2 count. Chavo attempts to mix in some high-flying along with a more ground-based attack, going up top to hit a missile dropkick that actually knocks Dean out of the ring. Chavo waits until Malenko stands, and then goes for a pescado to the outside. Dean, however, moves out of the way, causing Chavo to hit the ground hard, landing especially hard on his leg. Malenko throws Chavo back into the ring, and again attacks the leg, this time with a cross kneebreaker, trying to make Chavo give up. Before this can happen, however, Eddie jumps back up on the apron, causing Malenko to let go of the hold and go after him. Chavo, grabs the referee and pulls him down onto the mat, which prevents him from seeing Eddie ducks Malenko's blow and nail him with the Cruiserweight Title belt, knocking Malenko out. Chavo let's go of the referee and rolls over for the pin, leaving the ref no choice but to count the three, despite his suspicion as to what happened.

*With Malenko still down, Eddie motions for Chavo to get him in position, before going up top and coming down with a big Frogsplash that shakes the entire ring. Satisfied with their handiwork, Eddie and Chavo leave the ring, with Chavo noticeably limping as they make their way down the aisle*

(83/72/94; ***1/4)

MT: Yet another great match that was marred by interference at the end. Dean Malenko seemed to have that match wrapped up, until "Uncle Eddie" decided to get involved.

DM: Well, once again Tenay, Eddie Guerrero shows that he's going to do whatever it takes to hold onto his Title. And tonight, that meant that he had to get involved in this match. But at Uncensored, we'll finally get to see these two in the ring together. I guess we'll have to wait to see what Eddie will REALLY do to hold onto his Title then.

MT: That match will certainly be one to look forward to this Sunday at Uncensored. Now coming up next fans, we're going to hear from two of the men in our main event tonight. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, also known as The Outsiders, will be going face to face with Eric Bischoff's special enforcer, Vader, and the World Champion, Goldberg.

DM: Tenay, ever since Eric Bischoff announced this match, there's been speculation about if Vader and Goldberg can match up with one of the most experienced and well known tag teams in the world, The Outsiders. I'll be very interested in finding out myself.

MT: But first, let's find out just what's on The Outsider's minds.

**Hey Yo is in the House**

*We but backstage again, to reveal Kevin Nash and Scott Hall standing holding a mic, both looking much more relaxed than would be expected*

Kevin Nash: Well, well, well. The time's almost here Goldberg. Tonight, me and Scott get to tear the hide off you and Vader. But at Uncensored, when they drop that cage down, there won't be anyone between me and you. And when I get done beating the crap out of you, and hold that World Title over my head, then there won't be anybody that can stop me. And as for Eric Bischoff…I hope that you paid Vader a lot of money. Cause when I come for you, I'm gonna take him out first, and he's gonna need all the spare change he can get at the retirement home. Scott?

Scott Hall: Hey yo. Listen, Goldberg, Vader, chico's. You two think you can go against me and Big Kev here? You got a lot of nerve if you think you two got a shot against The Outsiders. And as for Vader? Listen, you might have gotten lucky and beat me before. But that won't happen again tonight. Cause I'm gonna let Kev handle Big Willy Goldberg, and I'm gonna take YOU out. Listen chico, mang, tonight you're gonna find out what it's like to get put down by the Outsiders Edge. And after me a Kev get finished with those two job boys tonight, Bischoff, we're coming after YOU.

KN: And one more thing. Since this match IS No-DQ, you two better have eyes in the back of your heads. Cause you never know what The Outsiders are gonna come up with next.

*Nash and Hall look comically at the camera for a moment, before slowly walking off*

(90%)

MT: Kevin Nash is right about one thing Dave. Tonight's match IS a no disqualification match. And you know that Nash and Hall have little regard for the rules in a NORMAL setting. So who KNOWS what they'll come up with tonight when the rules are thrown out of the window.

DM: It's a big risk on Goldberg and Kevin Nash's part to take a match of this nature so close to their World Title match. But that's why they're two of the best in the business. The match tonight, just like the match at Uncensored, should be physically intense, and very possibly bloody.

MT: You may be right Dave. Certainly Hall and Vader have a lot to lose in this match as well, since these NO-DQ matches can be career enders, especially with the size and strength of everyone involved in the match. We'll have to see what happens a little later on tonight. But first, let's get back to the ring for our next match of the evening. This one features Television Champion Chris Jericho, who's set to face Booker T at Uncensored in an I Quit match FOR that title, facing off against Hardcore Hak. Hak has had his troubles as of late with Raven, and you have to wonder if he'll be able to focus on his opponent tonight.

DM: He better focus on Jericho, if he wants to come away with a win Tenay. Even though it's a non-title match, Chris Jericho isn't going to take it easy on Hak. And Jericho has proven that he's as tough as anyone in WCW, so Hak's going to have a tough time tonight.

MT: But I also have to wonder if JERICHO'S mind is on his match tonight, or if he's thinking more about that brutal encounter he's going to have at Uncensored. It's time to find out, as that match is next.

**Hardcore Hak vs. Chris Jericho**

Hak enters first to a good sized reaction from the crowd, who cheer a little bit louder when he gets up on the turnbuckle and poses with his Kendo Stick. Jericho, as expected, receives a less warm welcome, as the crowd almost boos him back out of the building. He seems not to care however, and the match soon gets underway. Jericho seems to not be taking the match very seriously, dancing around the ring and mocking Hak. Hak takes this for a few minutes, but soon tires of it and lets Jericho know by nailing him with a series of big left hands. Hak continues to dominate Jericho using his brawling tactics, and manages to surprise Jericho and the crowd when he pulls out a sleeper hold to try to wear Jericho down. Overcoming his surprise, Jericho counters into a backdrop suplex that stuns Hak long enough for Jericho to recover his breath. After he does so, Jericho goes on the offense, using his quickness and superior technical skills to wisely limit Hak's chances to fight back. Jericho starts to focus on the lower back, using several suplexes and a "held" backbreaker to set up his submission hold, The Liontamer. Jericho manages to put Hak into the hold, but soon has to break as Hak quickly fights to the ropes. Jericho doesn't let up the pressure however, going right back on the attack with a…bearhug? Despite the unusual choice of moves, Jericho seems to be firmly in control, until the crowd starts cheering to bring Hak back into the match. Hak starts to "Hak-Up", and begins to deliver more left hands into Jericho's forehead, forcing him to break the hold. When Jericho tries to charge at Hak, he is stopped and planted by a huge Spinebuster that leaves BOTH men down on the canvas. The referee begins his 10 count, but only gets to 6 before Hak is back to his feet. He picks Jericho up and whips him into the ropes, attempting another Spinebuster. This time though, Jericho is able to avoid the impact, instead countering into a DDT in mid-air! This stuns Hak long enough for Jericho to run the ropes and hit a Lionsault, before putting his feet on the ropes for the cover, and the 3 count.

*Jericho celebrates briefly after his victory, before grabbing his belt and leaving. Hak slowly rises to his feet, when suddenly Raven appears from the audience. He grabs Hak's Kendo Stick and slides in the ring, waiting for Hak to turn around. When he does, Raven attempts to nail Hak with the stick. However, Hak is able to duck the blow, and kicks Raven in the stomach, causing him to drop the stick. Hak grabs for it, and swings for Raven, who is already rolling out of the ring. As Raven walks backwards up the aisle, Hak gestures for a mic. When he is given one, he speaks into it, saying "Raven, I'm tired of this crap. It's time to settle this thing. And I'm thinking, this Sunday would be a perfect time to do it. So I went and got this cleared through Eric Bischoff yesterday, and at Uncensored, it's gonna be me and you, in a hardcore match, where ANYTHING goes. So Raven, get some lube ready, cause at Uncensored, I'm gonna take this stick, and shove it straight up your *BEEP*." The crowd cheers this announcement as Raven looks angrily back at Hak*

(84/77/91; ***1/4)

DM: Well Hak didn't pull any punches in THAT statement. You know Tenay, it occurs to me that a hardcore match is right up both of those guys alley. Even for Uncensored, that match may almost be TOO uncensored.

MT: You may be right, Dave. Both men came to WCW form organizations where almost EVERY match was a no rules match, so they're used to that kind of barbaric violence. And I'm receiving word in my headset that the match HAS been confirmed for Uncensored. That's just one MORE great match to look forward to, Dave.

DM: Tenay, I have to cut you off. While they were telling you that, I got word that something's going on the back, and we need to take a look at it.

**Jericho proves to be no Sucka**

*The camera quickly cuts to backstage, where a massive brawl is in progress between Chris Jericho and Booker T. The two are going at it fist to fist, tearing up the backstage area with their fighting. Jericho slams Booker headfirst into a table, before throwing him into a rack of CLANGY POLES! Jericho charges in, only to have Booker backdrop him right onto the floor. Booker drops down and continues to wail away at Jericho with punches, before a host of officials finally arrives to break the two up. Both Jericho and Booker have to be held back, and continue to try to get to each other as the officials struggle to keep them separated. The shouting continues as we head back to ringside.*

(97%; Chris Jericho and Booker T gained overness)

MT: Fans, it look as if the bad blood between Booker T and Chris Jericho continues, and as you saw, when they get together, things can get explosive.

DM: No doubt Tenay. From what I heard in my headset, Jericho is the one who first started that altercation backstage, but you can tell that Booker was looking to finish it. That's one match that may not WAIT until Sunday.

MT: Whether or not they meet up before then, this Sunday at Uncensored, we KNOW they'll be meeting in an I Quit match for the Television Title, currently held by Chris Jericho. These two have, in many peoples opinion, stolen the show the last two pay-per-views, and we'll have to see if that continues this time around. Now fans, what we have coming up next, well, we really don't know much about. We received word that Kurt Angle would be on Nitro with a special "challenge" for the entire WCW locker-room. What this challenge could be however, no one knows.

DM: All I know Tenay, is that if Kurt Angle is making the challenge, it’s going to take one of the best superstars WCW has to answer it. Because Kurt Angle has already proven in his short time in WCW, that he's going to be a big time player in this business for a long, long time.

MT: Fans, I've just received notice that Kurt Angle is on his way to the ring as we speak, so maybe he can end the speculation right now.

**Angle wants to WRESTLE**

*As the now familiar music of Kurt Angle hits, the fans rise to their feet and express their dislike of the Olympic champion, who doesn't seem to care too much as he makes his way down the aisle, sporting a cheesy smile. He makes his way into the ring, and raises his mic to speak*

Kurt Angle: I know, I know. I know that most of you people have never seen a physical specimen as great as this in person, and I DARN sure know that you haven't ever seen anyone NEARLY as talented before, so it's ok that you're unsure what to do. But by the time I get done talking, there's not going to be any doubt. You see, when I signed up to be a part of WCW, I decided right then and there that I would bring some actually WRESTLING to this company, which is something that frankly, NO one here knows how to do. Which is why I'm absolutely SICK that this pay-per-view coming up is being run the way it is. I mean, who here REALLY wants to see all of these I quit matches, Cage matches, hardcore matches?

*Most of the crowd cheers, some because they DO want to see those kinds of matches, and many because they just don't like ANGLE*

KA: Yeah, I should have known that you people were too ignorant to appreciate what I'm saying. Well I've decided that I'm going to PROVE what I'm saying is true. Because you see, I watch these matches out here, and I see a lot of so called "wrestlers" doing nothing in their matches but punching and punching and…well heck, even MORE punching. So I thought, why not give these people an example of some REAL wrestling, and do it at Uncensored, so that everyone can come to appreciate how PURE wrestling can be. That's why I'm issuing a challenge for anyone in the back to wrestle me, at Uncensored. But not just any kind of match, Oh no, this match is going to be NO PUNCHES ALLOWED. That's right, you close that fist, or even use an open handed punch, and that's a disqualification. Now, I know that most of you back there don't even know the difference between a wristlock and a hot dog, but I'm sure that SOMEONE must have the guts to accept my challenge. Anyone? Anyone at all? Well, I can't say it really surprises me TOO much. I mean, if I knew that I had to face me, I probably wouldn't come out here either. So I guess since all of you are just to chicken…

*Angle is cut off as the music of the former 4 Horsemen is heard again. This time however, coming out to that music is none other than Chris Benoit! He also has a mic (!), and answers Angle*

Chris Benoit: Kurt Angle, I have to give you credit. I've seen your matches, and you truly are a great wrestler. And in a way, it's refreshing to see someone who can go down on the mat like you can. But it's NOT so refreshing to hear you come out here and run down the rest of the wrestlers in the back. Angle, let me tell you this. You may be an Olympic gold medalist, but until someone comes along and proves differently, I'M STILL the best technical wrestler in WCW. So I'd be more than happy to come to the ring at Uncensored and show the world that maybe your body can't cash the checks your mouth is writing. Kurt, I'll see you at Uncensored.

*Benoit turns and walks slowly off stage, leaving a stunned Kurt Angle in the ring*

KA: Benoit, you don't know what you just did. At Uncensored, I'm not only going to BEAT you, I'm going to EMBARRASS you in the ring. And when I take you out, it's gonna be just more proof that NO one in WCW has the pure skill to take me on. Benoit, I hope you're still listening and watching in the back, because right now, I've got a match with some Disco dancing chump, and I want you to see just how fast I can take him apart.

*Angle then throws down his mic, and starts bouncing up and down, warming up for his match with Disco Inferno, which is next*

(78%)

**Kurt Angle vs. Disco Inferno**

With Angle in the ring already, Disco enters quickly to a mixed reaction from the crowd, who seems to be cheering AGAINST Angle more than FOR Disco. Angle doesn't give Disco a chance to get the fans more on his side, attacking him before the bell sounds. Angle uses his technical skills to take Disco down, wrapping him up in some brutal amateur style holds, obviously trying to show Chris Benoit his skills on the mat. Disco tries to fight back several times, but can never seem to gain the advantage for long, as Angle continually pulls him back down on the mat. This almost proves to be Angle's undoing, as after one particularly painful hold, he stops to gesture toward the entrance, yelling for Benoit. This allows Disco time to recover, and as Angle turns back around, he catches him with a boot to the stomach, followed by a Chartbuster. Disco is still too out of it to attempt a cover however, and when he finally does, Angle is able to slip his shoulder out at two. Disco waits for Angle to get back to his feet and attempts another kick to the stomach. He is unsuccessful with this attempt however, as Angle catches his foot, and sweeps his other leg to take him back down. He then flips Disco over onto his stomach and drops a knee right to the back of Disco's head and neck, before reaching down and applying a Crippler Crossface! This slap in the face of Benoit proves to be good technique for Angle, as Disco has no choice but to tap out to the pain of the hold.

*Angle won't let go of the hold even after the bell rings, instead pulling back even farther on it as Disco screams in pain. Finally, after several seconds of this torture, Angle releases the Crossface, staring down at Disco as he writhes in pain on the mat. Angle looks into the camera and states "You see that Benoit? I did that even better than you. And at Uncensored, I'm going to do it TO you. But don't worry Benoit, it won't be anything personal. I'll just PROVE that I'm better that you." He then adds a final kick to Disco Inferno before hopping out of the ring and heading back up the aisle*

(80/75/85; ***)

MT: That was certainly an intensity that we haven't seen from Kurt Angle before Dave. It seems like Chris Benoit's acceptance of Angle's challenge has almost enraged Angle.

DM: Well, you have to look at it from Kurt Angle's viewpoint. He's a man who spent God knows how many years training to win a gold medal in the Olympics, and Chris Benoit comes out here and basically states that he's better than Angle. That HAS to make Kurt Angle upset. I'm just glad that we get to see him take out his frustration in the RING on Sunday.

MT: That certainly should be a classic, pure WRESTLING match, Dave, especially with the no punching stipulation. Of course, Angle STILL has to watch out for Benoit's hands, as Chris Benoit has some the most brutal chops that I've even seen.

DM: If I know anything about Kurt Angle, he's going to do everything he can to prepare for this match. It should be another classic come Uncensored.

MT: Speaking of Uncensored, as you all know, Eric Bischoff was supposed to be here tonight to announce the final card for this Sunday. Unfortunately, a personal emergency prevented him from being with us this evening, but I HAVE been authorized to bring you the final card for WCW Uncensored. Fans, please take a look at your screens.

*The camera fades to a series of still pictures of the competitors for Sunday's PPV, Uncensored. They read as follows*

Tuesday, March 23rd, 6 days before Uncensored:

*No time to play today. Things are in high gear around here, as we get ready for the PPV. This one's important to me, as the audience's reaction will help me judge how succesful our "next big thing" might be. Sophie's here, with the stats from last night as usual, but even she feels the pressure. After all, if things flop, it's not just MY job, it's HERS too. So today, we don't have much time for chit-chat. She's already in the office, and about to lay the news on me*

Sophie: Ok, let me get this out, because we really don't have much time for chit-chat today. (See what I mean?)

Me: I agree. Things are getting more and more high pressured around here by the day.

Sophie: You've got that right. Ok, let's start with the approval rating.

Me: Shoot.

Sophie: We pulled an 82% approval rating, which is up from last weeks show, so we should have some good momentum heading into Uncensored.

Me: Great. That really is good, since I was hoping to really hit some of the big matches on Nitro, with Thunder serving to boost interest in the underneath matches. How did they react to the announcement of the final card?

Sophie: General opinion is that it looks strong. Which I agree with by the way. I think if things all go right, we're going to have a great PPV this Sunday.

Me: Yeah, and it's an important one, for reasons you well know.

Sophie: No kidding. But like I said, I don't think we really have to worry. All the guys know how important this is to everyone. And speaking of the TV ratings...

Me: Um, nice segueway there, Sophie.

Sophie: Sorry, I'm just excited and nervous about this, so I'm trying to get to it quickly.

Me: Go right ahead then.

Sophie: Well, let me start off by saying that the WWF pulled in a 7.40 rating. Pretty strong, right?

Me: Right, go on.

Sophie: Well, our rating was...7.30.

Me: 7.30? Are you SURE?

Sophie: Absolutely positive. This whole "Monday Night War" is suddenly a LOT closer than it's been in a long, LONG time.

Me: Wow. 7.30. I didn't expect to get things so close THAT quickly. This call for a celebration, don't you think?

Sophie: Don't know about that. We haven't beaten them YET, and until we do, I think we should hold off on the celebrations. Besides, we both have too many things to do today to take the time to celebrate.

Me: You're right of course. I'm just pumped about that rating. Sophie, do you realize that more people than ever are watching out program? I mean, even when WCW was BEATING WWF in the ratings war, they weren't pulling in numbers this good.

Sophie: I know. Mr. Turner is VERY pleased. Oh, by the way, he said he's going to watch Uncensored LIVE, and wants to have a meeting with you afterwards, just to discuss WCW and how he thinks things are going.

Me: Great. I mean, I think he should be pretty happy. We're getting high ratings, great crowd reactions, making money, got soem big plans for the near future...

Sophie: Exactly. So don't worry about it. Listen, I'm gonna run. Got some things to take care of. Call me when you've got Thunder nailed down, and I'll distribute it to everyone.

Me: Got it laying on the table outside for ya Sophie. Look it over, and let me know what you think. Go ahead and run, I've got some things to do here. I'll call you later.

Sophie: Alright, and I'll let you know about Thunder.

Me: Thanks Sophie.

*She closes the door, and I immediately bend over and get back to work. I hated to not chat more with Sophie, but like she said, she has things to do, and so do I. I hope things can calm down some after this PPV. And I REALLY hope that Mr. Turner likes it. I don't see why he wouldn't. But then again, if he doesn't, things might be a whole lot MORE stressful then they are now. Oh well, nothing to do but push forward. I mean, I know that things are gonna work out.

Right?*
