WCW in '99- Fixing a Hole (repost)

Thursday, March 25th, 3 days before Uncensored:

Thunder!

*Instead of the typical pyro opening for Thunder, we are shown a video with sinister music playing in the background, as shots of various wrestlers being slammed, punched, kicked, beaten, and otherwise maimed are flashed across the screen. Eventually a series of pictures comes on the screen, which is soon revealed to be participants in the upcoming PPV, Uncensored. A swirl of these pictures becomes faster and faster, unless with a sudden explosion, the picture is gone, replaced by a single word: UNCENSORED*

*With that done, we are NOW greeted by the usual pyrotechnic display by WCW's crack production staff. As the crowd of 8,005 come to their feet, we eventually settle in on our announcers for the evening, Mike Tenay, and "Goldust's Daddy if ya weeeeeeeeeeel" Dusty Rhodes. After a quick run-down of the matches for the PPV, Tenay throws us to the ring for our first match of the evening*

**Chris Daniels vs. Disco Inferno**

Tenay and Rhodes discuss how this match is between two of WCW's great young superstars. The match itself is totally dominated by Daniels, as Disco can't seem to stop dancing long enough to focus on trying to win. After several impressive moves, Daniels puts Disco away with a Double Underhook Powerbomb, picking up the victory.

*Daniels doesn't have long to celebrate however, as Disco's partner, Alex Wright, comes running down to the ring and nails Daniels with a shot to the back of the head. He stomps away for a minute or two, before grabbing Disco and pulling him out of the ring*

(78/61/86; ***)

Tenay and Rhodes both wonder what Alex Wright was doing, since Disco lost the match fairly though his own inability to concentrate. Dusty then says that it's time to hear form one of his LEAST favorite wrestlers, none other than Raven.

**Quote the Raven…**

*We cut to somewhere in the back (?), to see Raven sitting in a dark room, lit only by a single candle, holding what appears to be a barbed wire baseball bat. He holds the bat in both hands, and speaks, looking down at the bat the entire time*

Raven: They say that baseball is America's favorite pastime. They say it's America's game. Well I say, it was never part of my life. I didn't have parents who loved me enough to teach me the "right way" things should be. I didn't have friends who could teach me how to play, how to laugh. No, all I had was myself, and my pain. Well it's my pain that has driven me my entire life, and it's my pain that carries me today. You see, I learned early that the only way anyone would listen to me is if I inflicted pain. To myself, and to anyone around me. Hak, you have felt this pain before. And I to have felt the pain that you can give. But that pain is only a small example of the pain and suffering that will take place this Sunday at Uncensored. For at Uncensored Hak, Raven's Rules will prevail. And when I raise this bat above my head, and look down at your bleeding, broken body, then I will know, that you have truly felt MY pain. For so it is written, and so it shall come to pass. Quote the Raven, Nevermore.

*As he finishes this statement, Raven looks up at the camera, before leaning over and blowing out the candle, leaving the scene in total darkness*

(84%)

Tenay and Rhodes both agree that Raven is a truly disturbed individual, which, as Rhodes points out, makes him extremely dangerous for Hak in that hardcore, "Raven's Rules" match at Uncensored. With that said, Tenay introduces our next match, which will feature four of the top wrestlers in the world.

**Dean Malenko/Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero/Chavo Guerrero, Jr.**

As the four make their way to the ring, Tenay reminds everyone that not only will Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero meet for the Cruiserweight Title at Uncensored, but that Benoit has accepted a "No Punches Allowed" match with Kurt Angle. The action begins fast and furious, with both teams trading the advantage numerous times, really drawing the crowd into the match. Just as it looks like Benoit and Malenko might secure the victory, down the aisle comes Kurt Angle, who jumps in the ring, pushing Eddie out of the way in order to get to Benoit. With Angle striking two men in the match, the ref has no choice but to throw it out, leaving a double dq!

*Angle and Benoit begin going at it, as Eddie and Chavo double up on Malenko. The huge brawl continues, with the Guerrero's beating Malenko as the go up the aisle, while in the ring, Angle manages to hit Benoit with an Olympic Slam, knocking him out. With Benoit out, Angle goes outside and grabs a chair. He places the chair on the mat, before picking Benoit up and delivering ANOTHER Olympic Slam onto it, leaving Benoit writhing in pain. Medics come rushing down to check on Benoit as Angle slowly walks back up the aisle with a huge smirk on his face*

(88/80/96; ****)

After talking about what a despicable act that was by Angle, and what a travesty it was to end a match of that quality in that way, Tenay says he can't help but wonder if serious damage was done to Benoit, and if he'll be able to compete at Uncensored. He also hypes up the Guerrero/Malenko match for the Cruiserweight Title again, before announcing that coming up next is a meeting between the two teams that will be competing for the Tag Titles at Uncensored.

**Face to face…beating?**

*We go backstage to a conference room, where Rey Mysterio Jr. is standing. He speaks aloud, wondering where his partner Kidman is, since they were supposed to meet with The Triad to finalize some details on the contract. As he bends over the table, looking at the papers, we hear the door open, and see a hand tap Rey on the shoulder. He turns, only to see a bloodied Kidman held by Bam Bam Bigelow, with DDP and Kanyon also standing by. Rey tries to attack Bigelow, but is cut off by the other two, who proceed to lay a huge beating on him, punching and kicking away at him, before DDP slams him right on top of the table, which then collapses. Bigelow throws Kidman down on top of Mysterio, and the three men walk off, leaving the broken bodies and table behind.*

(79%)

Tenay and Rhodes both lament the fact that Kidman and Rey trusted The Triad too much, and it cost them. Rhodes is of the opinion that this will only serve to fire up Rey and Kidman for their title shot. Tenay agrees, but again wonders about their health come Sunday. Tenay then shifts subjects to our next match. He announces that Kurt Angle, who we saw earlier, had issued an open challenge for anyone to face him in a pure wrestling match. Tenay says that the first wrestler to accept was kind of a shock, as it was a cruiserweight, Blitzkrieg! Tenay says that Angle had to accept and that matchup is now.

**Blitzkrieg vs. Kurt Angle**

Both men enter the ringside area, with Angle getting a very large negative reaction, thanks especially to his actions earlier in the evening. He grabs a mic and says "Benoit, I hope you're watching form your hospital bed, cause this is only a small sample of what I'm doing to do at Uncensored". After saying this, he slowly puts the mic down, and surprises Blitzkrieg with a clothesline, taking him down. Angle dominates a good portion of the match, but Blitz fights back with some high-flying offense that wows the crowd. In the end however, he misses a big twisting splash from the top rope, and crashes to the round hard, leaving him easy pickings for Angle and his Olympic Slam. Angle casually covers, picking up the victory.

*After the match, Angle helps Blitzkrieg to his feet, extending his hand as if he was going to shake it. Just as Blitzkrieg slowly reaches out his hand, Angle pulls his away, laughing at his beaten opponent, before walking out of the ring*

(76/61/92; ***)

Rhodes makes the statement that while Angle might have all of the physical tools necessary to make it big, he's not gaining any friends along the way. Tenay agrees, but also points out that Angle probably is doing this to intentionally antagonize his opponents and gain a mental advantage. He then segues into another man who likes to try to mentally AND physically gain any advantage over his opponents, Chris Jericho. He discuses Jericho's feud with Booker T over the past few months, before leading us into the next match, featuring Jericho "lackey" Buff Bagwell facing off against Booker T in a No-DQ match.

**Booker T vs. Buff Bagwell**

Tenay continues his discussion as the two men come down the aisle, talking about how this is not the first time in the past few months these two men have met up. Both men come out with some full on offense, taking it right to the other man. The actions spills outside the ring before long, as they brawl around the ringside area. Booker misses a charge into a ringpost, giving Bagwell the advantage. Bagwell gets back in the ring and taunts the fans as Booker pulls himself up. Seeing Bagwell preoccupied with his "public" Booker is able to come off the top rope with a Missile Dropkick, which puts Buff down long enough for the 1-2-3.

*Booker rolls out of the ring and begins walking back up the aisle, only to be met by Chris Jericho, who runs down to meet him holding a chair. Booker greets him with a shot to the face, and the two men begin to brawl right there in the aisleway. Security comes down to break things up, but it's obvious Jericho and Booker are ready to tear into each other at the PPV in their "I Quit" match. *

(86/85/88; ***1/2)

Tenay and Rhodes agree that the I Quit match has a great chance of continuing Jericho and Booker T's streak of stealing the show at PPV's. Both men say that it's on of the matches they're looking forward to most. Tenay then informs the crowd that coming up next, we're going to have a very special interview with a man who's a true legend in the sport, and who has a chance at Uncensored to do what few people have done, and that's make Bret Hart submit. According to Tenay, Ric Flair is looking at this match as a do or die match. He hasn't mentioned retirement, again according to Tenay, but the word around the locker-room is that Flair is looking to prove to everyone that he can still go inside the ring. Rhodes says that until someone can prove otherwise, he's backing Ric Flair as STILL the man. With that said, we go back to the backstage area to hear from the man himself.

**Whooooooo**

*We cut backstage, where Ric Flair is standing holding a mic. Amidst Whooooo's from the crowd, he begins to speak*

Ric Flair: Now I know that some people are gonna look at me and they're gonna ask themselves, Why is The Nature Boy standing in the back when he could be out in the ring, doing what he does better than anyone else? And the answer is this. Ric Flair is in the back, because I know that come Sunday, I'm gonna be in for the fight of my life. Bret Hart, for the past few months, you've been taking shots at The Nature Boy, trying to make me quit, trying to make me leave, trying to make me feel like a washed up old man. Well guess what pal? IT DIDN'T WORK, WHOOOOOO!

*The fans explode in cheers and WHOOO's at this statement*

Ric Flair: You see, last month, at Superbrawl, I took everything Bret Hart had, and I gave it right back to him. No matter what he did, he couldn’t beat this "washed up has-been" fair and square, so he had to take a shortcut. Well Hart, at Uncensored, there's not going to be any shortcuts. Because at Uncensored, when I slap the Figure Four on you, I'm not just gonna let you submit. No, I'm gonna pull back on the Figure Four until I hear your LEG SNAP, and when it does, and I hear you scream in pain, THEN I'll let go. You see Bret, you've woken something up in me that you never should have done. Because this Sunday, you won't just be facing Ric Flair. You won't just be facing The Nature Boy. You're going to be facing The Dirtiest Player in the Game. And this Sunday, I'm gonna show you just how I earned that name. Hart, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. You might think that you're the best there is, best there was, and best there ever will be, but there's one thing you're not. You're not THE MAN. And TO BE THE MAN, WHOOOO, YOU'VE GOT TO BEAT THE MAN. And make no mistake about it. Ric Flair, is STILL the man. WHOOOOOOO!

*Flair does a quick strut as the crowd goes wild, chanting Flair's name and WHOOOOOing loudly*

(100%!!! Ric Flair gained overness, and now has a Unique gimmick)

Our announcers talk about what an emotional interview that was, and stress the fact that the only way to win the match between Hart and Flair is for one man to submit. They then announce that it's time for our last match of the evening. They talk about the many problems between Goldberg and Kevin Nash over the past 4-5 months, and how at Uncensored, inside a steel cage, all of that will come to an end. They then go on to discuss the recent arrival of Vader as an enforcer for Eric Bischoff, and how at Uncensored he has a date with Scott Hall in a No-DQ match. Tenay then throws us back to the ring for our main event, featuring two of the men just discussed.

**Goldberg vs. Scott Hall**

Tenay reminds everyone that this is a non-title match, and was made at the request of Goldberg, who wanted to get his hands on Hall prior to the PPV. Both men enter the ring quickly, with the roof almost blowing off at the entrance of Goldberg. They don't wait for the bell and tear into each other right away, brawling all over the ring. Things don't settle down either, as the ref can't get control, with Goldberg and Hall beating on each other both inside AND outside the ring. Finally, just as Goldberg manages to Spear Hall down and signal for the Jackhammer, his challenger for Sunday, "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash comes "running" down to the ring, causing Goldberg to drop Hall and focus on Nash. The two men go at it as the crowd goes crazy, and moment which becomes even more frenzied when, as Hall comes to and tries to attack Goldberg, Vader comes down to the ring, pulling Hall out and going after HIM. The ref calls for the bell, giving Goldberg the win by DQ, as Nash was the first to interfere.

*As the bell continues to ring, all four men continue to brawl, with the crowd enjoying every minute of it*

(82/87/73; ***1/4)

As the show goes off the air, Tenay and Rhodes ask the question of what's going to happen at Uncensored, when all the rules get thrown out of the window? Tenay reminds everyone to contact their local cable providers to order Uncensored, and reminds everyone that it's ONLY on PPV. Good night!

*The final shot of the evening is of Goldberg and Nash toe to toe in the ring, exchanging blows, while Vader and Hall brawl in the background, the fans on their feet and absolutely crazy over the action they're seeing*

Overall: 83

Saturday, March 27th, 1 day before Uncensored:

*Busy. If I had to use one word to describe my week, that would be it. EXTREMELY busy. Getting Nitro and Thunder together is challenging enough, but add a PPV, especially one that has a good bit riding on it like this one, and it makes things even MORE challenging. In fact, that's why I'm just now able to sit down with Sophie and talk about what happened on Thunder, which was, what, two days ago? Oh well, at least we're able to look at things NOW...*

Sophie: Ok, here's where we stand as far as Thunder.

Me: Go ahead, I'm listening.

Sophie: 83 % approval rating, with a 2.17 TV rating. Pretty good both ways, in my opinion.

Me: Very definitely. I was hoping that Thunder would go over well, since I was really trying to give all the matches a little extra "push" leading into Sunday.

Sophie: I'd say we did that, and the audience was into it. Of course, PPV's can be a whole different ballgame, but I'd say we have some definite momentum heading into Uncensored.

Me: I feel the same way. And I think the guys feel it too. I've managed to talk to everyone with a match, and they've all said that this Sunday they're going to be on their "A-game". And with some of those guys, that's almost scary.

Sophie: I know. Personally, I feel like we have several show stealing matches lined up. All the major "issues" have some really good heat behind them, which should help the crowd get into things.

Me: You're right. I'm a little concerned about Flair and Hart though. I found out that Ric's been fighting the flu for the past 2 weeks, without saying anything about it. Could be bad...

Sophie: Hmm, I certainly couldn't tell anything was wrong when he gave that promo on Thursday. Hopefully he can work through the flu.

Me: I'm sure if anyone can, HE can. I mean, he's worked with injuries and sickness who KNOWS how many times before. And besides, the crwod is gonna eat that one up. The reaction alone should give him a little extra boost.

Sophie: By the way, our special "guest" for Uncensored is confirmed on the flight. He should be there in plently of time for the PPV.

Me: Great. I think this one'll be a big surprise for everyone.

Sophie: Should be anyway. Oh, also, Scott Hudson wanted to know if he's handling the ring announcing or if you're gonna bring in Micael Buffer for this one?

Me: Tell Scott I've had no complaints with how he's been doing things, so I'm just gonna let him handle this one. I mean, you hardly hear people talk about him, which is about right for a ring announcer.

Sophie: Gotcha, I'll let him know. Also, one last thing. I need you to come down and approve the set. We've added some touches since the last time you looked at it.

Me: Ok, I'll swing by and take a look a little bit later. I still have to get all of my notes together for my meeting with Mr. Turner on Monday.

Sophie: Well, I wouldn't be TOO concerned, since by all indications, he's ecstatic about the way thigns are going. But you're right, it's still better to be prepared. I'll make sure that you have everything ready bright and early Monday morning.

Me: Thanks Sophie. Have I told you lately what a great job you're doing?

Sophie: Hmm, don't think so.

Me: Oh, well, you're doing a great job Sophie.

Sophie: Thanks. And you HAVE mentioned it lately, I just always like to hear it again.

*She says this with a smile, and I realize again that she's really a VERY attractive lady. Of course, I'm married, but if I wasn't...Well, let's just say that Uncensored wouldn't just be the name of a PPV*

Sophie: Hello? You there?

Me: What? Oh, yeah, sorry, spaced out for a minute. Anyway, I've got to run and meet with the production crew. There's still a few kinks that need to be worked out concerning our "special guest".

Sophie: Gotcha. I'll go check on how ticket sales are going, and make sure that the radio interviews for tomorrow are all set up. I'll be around if you need me, so just call my cell phone.

Me: Will do. And thanks again Sophie, you really ARE doing a great job.

Sophie: Well, you're welcome. And you too, by the way.

*With that said, she exits, and yes, once again I'm alone. I wouldn't mind concentrating a few minutes on her, girlie girl, but I'm got heavier things on my mind(10 points if you get the reference). Like, the PPV. Tomorrow. Guess it's time to get busy again...*

Sunday, March 28th:

Uncensored!

Part 1 of 2

*As the crowd of 17,981 file in, ring announcer Scott Hudson introduces the first match, which is a special "Free For Everyone" bonus match. He introduces the competitors, and we get right to the entrances…*

**Chris Daniels vs. Chavo Guerrero, Jr. vs. Alex Wright**

The three men make their way to ringside quickly, with Daniels getting by far the largest reaction. The match begins in a fast paced style, with all three men exchanging holds and counter holds back and forth. After a few moments of this action, Chavo goes for a clothesline on Daniels, only to be backdropped over the top rope to the floor, leaving Alex Wright alone in the ring with Daniels. Wright uses a quick thumb to the eye to take control, and begins to batter Daniels with a series of punches and kicks, mixed in with several high impact vertical suplexes. He takes time after each successful move to dance and mock Daniels, which leads to him only being able to obtain several 2 counts on his pin attempts. Finally, Daniels is able to reverse a whip to the ropes and catch Wright with a dropkick right to the chin, which stuns him long enough for Daniels to attempt to recover. Just as he does however, Chavo slingshots back into the ring with a clothesline, and then locks on a rear chinlock, pulling back until it becomes an actual camel clutch.

Chavo pulls back as hard as he can on Daniels head, trying for a submission, but the hold is broken up by Wright, who delivers an elbowdrop right into the back of Chavo. This allows Wright to attempt another pinfall on Daniels, but he again celebrates and fails to hook a leg, allowing Daniels to kick out at 2. Just as Wright stands back up, Chavo rolls him up from behind and gets another close 2 count, which enrages Wright. The two men start to push and shove back and forth with each other, ignoring Daniels, who is now able to struggle to his feet. With neither Chavo nor Wright paying attention, Daniels is able to deliver a spinning heel kick to the back of Wright's head, knocking him into Chavo, who falls outside the ring. Wright stumbles back around, only to be met by a boot to the stomach, followed with a Double Underhook Powerbomb by Daniels for the pinfall, and the 3 count!

*After the match, Chavo looks disgusted and walks back down the aisle, turning back to glare at both Daniels and Wright. As Alex Wright attempts to recover, Daniels is able to celebrate with the fans, who seem to be getting more and more into the clean cut young man…*

(77/70/85; ***)

*With the free match out of the way, the lights dim as the PPV is ready to get underway. First we are shown the same video as opened Thunder this past Thursday, featuring a swirl of all of the wrestlers involved with Uncensored, ending with the name of the PPV filling the screen. With that done, it's time to begin…*

*HUGE explosions of pyrotechnics fill the air, as the entire crowd comes to their feet in anticipation of the event they're about to witness. As the music continues to play, we are taken to our announcers for the evening, Mike Tenay and Dave Meltzer*

Mike Tenay: Good evening everybody, and welcome to wrestling at it's best, welcome to Uncensored! There's truly an air of expectancy here this evening, as we're all set for a night of great WCW action. With me this evening is my co-host, Dave Meltzer. Dave?

Dave Meltzer: Tenay, it truly IS a night filled with great expectations. So many big matches will be taking place here tonight, with of course, a cage match for the World Title between Goldberg and Kevin Nash as the centerpiece of the evening.

MT: Very true Dave, that match IS the main event here tonight. But that's not all the great action we're anticipating seeing here tonight. Fans, you've all seen the card for the evening, so let's not waste time, and get right to the ring.

DM: You know, it says something about how stacked a card is when the first match is for the World Tag Team Titles. The Triad will be taking on Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr. here tonight, in what you have to think will be a classic tag team match.

MT: Both teams are very well prepared for this one Dave. Although I do think the advantage has to lay with the champions. After some of their actions in recent weeks, I doubt if Kidman and Rey are 100% going into this match.

DM: And let's not forget the "mystery blond" who's following Kidman. She's enough to take ANY mans mind off of ANYTHING. Has anyone seen her here tonight?

MT: I haven't looked Dave, but I'm sure if she's here, we'll see her when Kidman comes out. And now, let's get to the ring, for our first match of the evening!

**The Triad vs. Kidman/Rey Mysterio, Jr; Tag Team Title match**

The challengers enter the arena first and begin to make their way to the ring. As expected, Kidman is stopped by the same beautiful blond woman who has been going to all of the shows as of late. She grab Kidman's arm, and pulls him in for a hug. As Kidman tries to pull away, she leans in a gives him a quick peck on the cheek, then surprises everyone by giving him a much LONGER kiss square on his mouth. Kidman has a goofy smile on his face as he finally makes it to the ring, where Rey is waiting. As the champion's music hits, the fans begin to boo, getting even louder as DDP and Kanyon take their time walking down the aisle, mocking the fans the entire way.

Kidman and Rey evidentially have grown tired of waiting however, and as The Triad finally reaches the ringside area, they are met by two flying men as Rey and Kidman nail stereo pescados down onto the floor, taking DDP and Kanyon out. Kidman and Rey use the surprise of the moves to throw both members of The Triad into the ring, and quickly the match is underway, with Rey taking care of DDP, while Kidman works on Kanyon. Rey and Page soon end up outside the ring again, thanks to a Mysterio dropkick, followed up by a baseball slide version of the same move that seems to knock DDP's breath out. In the ring , Kidman works over Kanyon with a variety of high-flying moves, including a big spinning headscissors that puts Kanyon down for an early two count. Kidman follows up with a whip to the ropes and dropkick, which again earns him a 2. He tries to whip Kanyon into the corner, only to have the move reversed, and end up nailing the turnbuckle himself back first. Kanyon tries to follow him in, but is cut off by Mysterio, who springboards himself from the top rope into a hurricanrana on the charging Kanyon. Mysterio then signals for Kidman to go up top, but this is stopped when DDP is able to climb onto the apron and catch Kidman with a hard right hand. This drops Kidman down onto his hands and knees, which gives Rey the chance for yet another spectacular move, as he runs and uses Kidman's back to launch himself into another hurricanrana, this time taking DDP all the way from the apron to the floor!

Kidman gets to his feet and turns to go back after Kanyon, only to be caught by a boot to the stomach from the "Innovator of Offense". Kanyon follows this up with a spinning neckbreaker that puts Kidman down hard. On the outside, DDP has also recovered, and catches Rey with a drop toehold that slams him down face first onto the steel ring steps. With Rey down for a little while, DDP gets back in the ring, and both him and Kanyon got to work on Kidman, while the ref tries to get them to leave. Finally, he is able to escort DDP out of the ring, leaving Kanyon to continue to punishment on Kidman. He does so by using several of his "innovative" moves, including a new move wherein he puts Kidman on the second turnbuckle, before climbing up the second rope himself. He then delivers a Side Russian Legsweep from this position, sending Kidman crashing hard to the mat. He only manages a 2 count form the maneuver however, and tags DDP in. Page goes to work with a series of hard punches and kicks, mixed in with several body slams and clothesline, before tagging Kanyon back in.

This sequence continues several times, with The Triad making quick tags to keep Kidman form reaching Mysterio, who has now recovered and is standing on the apron, anxiously waiting for a tag. At one point, Kidman is able to duck a DDP clothesline and lunge across the ring and make the tag to Rey, who enters on fire. However, thanks to a distraction by Kanyon, the referee missed the tag, and makes Rey leave the ring, allowing The Triad to double team choke Kidman in their corner.

After several more minutes of this punishment, Kidman looks to be almost defeated. DDP tags in Kanyon again, and signals for a big move. He picks Kidman up in a powerbomb position, but as everyone knows, YCPK. Kidman reverses to a face crusher, which brings down Page, causing Kanyon to miss whatever move he was attempting. Kidman slowly drags himself across the ring, and finally makes the tag to Rey as the crowd explodes. Rey enters and goes crazy, taking down The Triad with dropkicks, spinning heel kicks, and even a good old fashioned clothesline. Kidman stays in the ring to try to even the odds, and manages to get DDP on the outside with a dropkick, before following up with a springboard into a big splash. The move puts BOTH men down and out, and leaves Kanyon and Rey in the ring. Kanyon blocks and attempted Hurricanrana attempt by Rey, and places him on the top turnbuckle, before going up himself for a superplex. Rey fights him off with some forearms to the side of the head, knocking Kanyon back down to the mat. As Kanyon slowly rises to his feet, Rey comes off the top rope with a Spinning Hurricanrana, pinning Kanyon's shoulders to the mat, and getting a 3 count for the victory!

*As the fans celebrate, so do Rey and Kidman, as the hold their newly won titles high over their heads. DDP and Kanyon aren't so pleased with the way things have ended up, however, and seem to be having a "disagreement" as they make their way back up the aisle. As Kidman and Rey head up the aisle themselves, the camera focuses on the "mystery blond" who's smiling as big as she can right at Kidman…*

(82/78/86; ***1/4; Tag Title gained image)

MT: What a match that was! And what a way to open up Uncensored! New tag team champions, and a clean, evenly fought match on top of it.

DM: You have to give Kidman and Mysterio credit, Tenay. The past few weeks they've taken a lot of abuse at the hands of The Triad. But tonight, they proved that they can take a licking, and keep on ticking, as the saying goes.

MT: You're absolutely right, Dave. Well fans, we just witnessed one title change hands tonight. But we've still got more great action for you, including this next match, which should be a change of pace from what we just witnessed.

DM: I would say so Tenay, since the next match features two of the best pure brawlers in the world today in Raven and Hak, facing off in a Raven's Rules match.

MT: For those fans who may not know, a Raven's Rules match is, well, basically anything goes. Chairs, tables, anything the two can lay their hands on will be legal tonight.

DM: Not to mention that pinfalls are legal anywhere in the building. This thing could go all over the place. And with the bad blood between these two guys, I wouldn't doubt that it will.

MT: There certainly is some strong issues between Raven and Hak. Ever since Raven made his return to WCW, he's been focused on interfering in various matches and disrupting other wrestlers as often as possible, especially Hak. Finally Hak issued a challenged to Raven for tonight, and Raven accepted. Of course, Raven has also been issuing warnings about a mysterious "They" who he says will soon be coming to WCW, so there's really no telling what Hal may be getting himself into here tonight.

DM: Well Tenay, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The only way for Hak to find out is to get in the ring with Raven. And that's what he's going to get the chance to do, right now.

**Hardkore Hak vs. Raven; Raven's Rules match**

Hak enters the ringside area to a good sized reaction from the crowd, which grows even stronger when he holds up his signature Singapore Cane, testing it out by slamming it against the mat a few times. Raven's music hits, but he doesn't seem to be overly anxious to come out from the back. After a few moments of standing in the ring waiting for Raven, Hak decides to go find Raven himself. As he slides out of the ring however, a hand shoots from under the ring and grabs his ankle, tripping him up and bringing him down hard on the concrete. A figure rolls out from under the ring, revealing itself to be none other than Raven, who obviously figured out a way to get an early advantage on Hak.

Raven begins to put the boots to Hak, keeping him down on the concrete for the first minute or so of the match. Hak is able to fight back however, as he grabs Raven's shorts and pulls him headfirst into the steel ring steps, knocking Raven goofy(er) and allowing himself a chance to get back to his feet. Hak grabs his cane, and waits for Raven to stand to his feet. When he does, Hak delivers a series of shots to the head and shoulders of Raven that forces him into the ring to try to escape. Hak however, has different plans, and continues the punishment inside the ring using the cane across Raven's back now, not letting him get to a vertical base. Hak attempts a cover, but Raven gets a shoulder up at 2.

Hal keeps the pressure on Raven, alternating between left hands and shots with the cane. Raven looks to be almost finished, but manages to dodge a big cane shot and catch Hak with a low blow to stop the offensive onslaught. Raven struggles to his feet, and goes to work on Hak, using right hand after right hand in between pounding his head on the mat. After a few minutes of this punishment, Raven rolls outside the ring, only to grab a nearby chair, and head back inside where Hak is beginning to rise to his feet. Raven nails Hak with a chairshot that staggers Hak, but doesn't put him down. Raven swings again, and again Hak won't go down. Raven goes for one more chairshot, but Hak is able to avoid the swing, causing the chair to bounce harmlessly on the ropes. Hak picks up the cane again and nails Raven with a shot to the stomach, doubling him over due to the pain. Hak tries to gain a quick win by using a cane assisted White Russian Legsweep onto the chair, but Raven grabs the ropes, causing Hak to fall backwards and land hard on the chair. Raven attempts a pin, but Hak kicks out just after 2.

Raven continues to press his advantage, throwing Hak outside the ring, before grabbing the chair and rolling out himself. He uses the chair to nail Hak with several shots, before setting it up outside the ring. He then grabs Hak and performs a drop toehold, sending Hak headfirst into the chair. Raven again goes for the pin, but the referee is out of position and only gets a 2 count before Hak is bale to kick out. The action now continues outside the ring, with Raven dominating Hak using the chair, as well as the ringside barriers. Hak manages to fight back somewhat, landing some punches to Raven's midsection, and soon the two are again going at it fist to fist. Hak ducks a roundhouse from Raven, and is able to nail his with Raven's own chair, knocking him back up the aisle and onto the stage. Hak stalks Raven as he backs up towards the entranceway, obviously preparing to finish Raven for good. He raises the chair above his head for a huge shot…and suddenly the lights go out, leaving the arena in total darkness. The crowd begins to buzz, wondering what's going on.

Their question is soon answered however, as the lights suddenly come back up, revealing a hooded figure standing on top of the large video screen. Hak stares upwards as the figure throws back his "hood " to reveal…SABU! Some of the crowd obviously recognizes the homicidal, suicidal, genocidal maniac as they cheer his arrival, while the remainder of the audience is in shock. The shock turns to awe however, as Sabu stares down at Hak for a second, before leaping off of the screen all the way down on top of Hak! The crowd gasps at this move, which seems to knock both Hak AND Sabu out. Raven, who has struggled to his feet, looks down at the carnage surrounding him, before gesturing for the referee to come closer. He picks Hak's limp body up, before delivering an Evenflow DDT onto the steel ramp! He then rolls Hak over and pins him, forcing the ref to count the 1-2-3, giving Raven the victory.

*As Raven continues to stare down at Hak, Sabu gets up to his feet, looking directly at Raven. The two men's eyes meet, and they exchange a quick glance before turning and beginning to beat down an already broken Hak, delivering kick after kick to his body before a group of officials is able to pull them off. Raven and Sabu pose for the crowd, Raven in the crucifix, and Sabu in the "pointing to the sky" pose, before walking off to a chorus of boo's from the crowd*

MT: What in the world just happened here?

DM: I'll tell you what happened Tenay. Sabu, one of the craziest, most extreme wrestler's I've ever seen, just made a HUGE impact, not only in WCW, but in Hak's BODY! That was a sensational risky move he performed Tenay.

MT: Whatever Sabu is doing here, it's obvious that Raven is behind it. The two men seemed to be taking great pleasure in assaulting Hak even after the vicious beating he took in the match itself. I know that both of these men are well known for being extremely hardcore wrestlers, but enough is enough.

DM: Let me tell you something Tenay. With Raven and Sabu, there is NEVER enough. Both of those men who go to any lengths to attain their goal, and I do mean ANY lengths.

MT: They may go to any lengths, but I have a feeling that HAK is going to do the same to get some payback from those two. Fans, I would love to spend some more time discussing what exactly motivated Raven and Sabu to do what they just did, but we have to move forward at this time. And really Dave, I'm looking forward to this next match, as we'll be seeing yet ANOTHER shift in styles.

DM: That's an understatement. Fans, this next match came about because one of the newest WCW superstars, Kurt Angle, has decided that he's going to prove a point. And that point is that no on in WCW can outwrestle him. And you know something, Tenay? He might be right.

MT: He may very well be correct in that statement Dave. But in order to lay claim to the title of "best pure wrestler", he's going to have to go through one of the best wrestlers, and I'm sure you'll agree with me here, one of the best wrestlers EVER in Chris Benoit.

DM: I don't disagree at all, Tenay. Chris Benoit truly is one of the finest professional wrestlers I've ever seen. He'll be a big test for Kurt Angle tonight.

MT: Fans, as I'm sure you know, in order to keep this match as "pure" as possible, it has been deemed a No Punching match. In fact, if either wrestler is caught throwing a punch in this match, that wrestler will be disqualified.

DM: To be honest, I don't think either guy is going to have a problem with that stipulation, Tenay. They both have too many other tricks in their bags to have to rely on a closed fist for a victory.

MT: If you're a fan of pure technical wrestling, then you don't want to miss this next match. Let's go to the ring.

**Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle, No Punching allowed match**

Angle is the first to enter the arena, drawing a large negative reaction form the crowd, which he seems to not notice. He plays to the crowd the entire way down the aisle, even going so far as to blow kisses at certain "lovely" ladies along the way. Thanks to his actions Benoit receives a much warmer response from the audience, who seem to be anxious to see Angle get taught a lesson. The referee reminds both men of the no punching rule, and then the bell rings and the match is underway.

Angle immediately tries to goad Benoit into punching him by giving him a little push and then sticking his chin out, pointing to it, daring Benoit to hit him. Benoit looks as if he's about to, but remembers in time and backs off. Angle repeats the process, obviously trying to get a cheap DQ win. Benoit again refuses to punch Angle, which seems to anger him. Angle tries again, this time adding some choice comments to his actions. The infuriates Benoit and he seems about to nail Angle in the jaw, when he changes his mind and instead nails Angle in the chest with a huge chop, followed by several more. Angle's chest turns red quickly as Benoit chops him into the corner, with the crowd appreciating the abuse Angle is receiving. Benoit backs Angle into the corner and continues the punishment, alternating boots to the stomach with the chops, which drops Angle down to a sitting position. As the ref tries to pull Benoit off Angle seizes the advantage and takes him down with an amateur style leg trip, bringing Benoit crashing hard to the canvas.

Angle immediately rolls over on top of Benoit, applying various holds to try to wear him down. Benoit surprises Angle however, by reversing many of his holds and applying some of his own. The two men reach a stalemate and break apart, as the crowd claps in appreciation of the display of mat wrestling the witnessed. The two go at it again, with similar results, as neither man can maintain an advantage on the ground for longer than a few seconds. This time, after they break apart, Angle adds another shove, then turns to taunt the crowd. When he turns back around, Benoit grabs him and brings him down right into the Crippler Crossface, locking the hold on in the middle of the ring. The crowd erupts, thinking that the match may be over soon. Angle however, is able to quickly perform a rolling maneuver into the ropes, forcing Benoit to break the hold.

Angle seems to be upset at his lack of success thus far, and proves this by asking Benoit for a test of strength. When Benoit goes for it Angle delivers a kick to the stomach, following this up with another takedown, this time into a front face lock. He works off of this hold for several minutes, again trying to wear Benoit down. Benoit will not submit though, and continues to try to break loose from the hold. He is finally able to do so by picking Angle up and delivering an inverted atomic drop, doubling Angle over in pain. Benoit then takes over on offense and begins to work over Angle using a variety of suplexes, including his patented snap suplex that almost throws Angle out of his boots.

Benoit then shifts focus to working on the shoulder and neck of Angle, in preparation for the Crippler Crossface. He uses various shoulder breaking holds and maneuvers, mixing in a "Rude Awakening" neckbreaker that earns him a two count. Angle looks to be on the ropes, but is able to reverse an attempted vertical suplex into one of his own to regain control of the match. He goes right back to work on the mat, twisting Benoit into a variety of postitions, trying for a submission victory. The fans continue to boo Angle, which distracts his attention, causing him to let Benoit go so that he can taunt the fans back. When he does this, Benoit is able to recover and grab him from behind, delivering a huge German suplex into a bridged pin attempt. Angle just manages to kick out, drawing more boos from the crowd.

Benoit again goes back to the neck and shoulder, this time using a modified version of a camel clutch to pin the left shoulder back while pulling back also on the neck. Angle manages to make the ropes again, but Benoit breaks the hold only momentarily, grabbing Angle as soon as he let's go of the rope. Benoit goes for another German Suplex, but Angle blocks, and reverses into a go behind, launching BENOIT into the air for a release german suplex. With both men down on the canvas, the referee begins to administer a 10 count.

He reaches 8 before Benoit is able to reach his feet just before Angle does the same. The two face each other and prepare to slug it out, before being reminded by the ref of the DQ. Angle uses this distraction to go behind Benoit again, trying for another German Suplex. This time, Benoit blocks, and reverses into the German Suplex position. However, he then brings his hands up into a full nelson hold, before taking Angle down with a Dragon Suplex, drawing a nice reaction from the crowd. Benoit rolls Angle over and covers, getting a 2.99 count before Angle is able to get one foot on the bottom rope. Benoit looks out at the crowd, and makes the slashing the throat gesture, signaling for the end. He pulls Angle up by the tights, and locks him into position for another German. However, Angle reverses the hold, getting behind Benoit, who is able to reverse again, bumping into the ref in the process. The ref is knocked down for a moment, which allows Angle a chance to deliver a low blow via a mule kick, which drops Benoit to one knee. Angle turns and grab Benoit, spinning him around for an Angle Slam, which knocks him out totally. With the referee already recovered Angle pins Benoit, and the ref delivers the three count, giving Angle the (somewhat tainted) victory.

*Angle doesn't wait around to shake Benoit's hand, instead rolling quickly out of the ring and moving down the aisle, "celebrating" with the fan along the way*

(88/82/95; ****)

DM: Now that's what I call a great WRESTLING match, Tenay. Benoit and Angle just proved that you don't have to resort to out and out brawling to put on a great match.

MT: They certainly did that, Dave. But I can't help but feel a little disappointed at how the match ended. After so much great pure wrestling action, for Angle to use a low blow like that, cheapens the victory somewhat in my eyes.

DM: Tenay, one thing you have to keep in mind, is that Angle is a very intelligent man. He also is a man who wants to win at all costs. So when he saw the opening in that match, he took it. You may not agree with the WAY he got the victory, but you can't argue with that fact that he did manage to defeat one of the very best ever.

MT: I still can't help but wonder if things might have gone differently if not for the referee getting pushed down right at that moment. Regardless of that fans, still another great match here at Uncensored. And coming up next, we have what should prove to be another very brutal match, as Vader takes on Scott Hall in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Fans, this one will be very similar to the match you witnessed earlier between Ha and Raven.

DM: You know, ever since Eric Bischoff brought Vader into WCW to be his personal "enforcer", Vader has been having problems with Scott Hall. He beat Hall on Nitro a few weeks ago, but that wasn't the end of things, by a LONG shot. And since Bischoff wants Hall to be taken care of, he gave Vader this match tonight. I've really got to wonder though, if either man is ready for this match. Both men are big, hard hitting, aggressive, and ruthless wrestlers. And I don't think either one of them will be content with just getting a win here tonight. I think they're both going to be looking to HURT the other man.

MT: You may be right, Dave. But I have to think that Vader and Scott Hall knew what they were getting into when they signed this match. Both men are veteran wrestlers, who have been around this sport for some time now, and I don't think they accepted this match lightly. Of course, that still won't change the fact that injuries are always possible in match like this, and with the bad blood between these two men, may be more likely than not.

DM: Tenay, this one isn't going to be pretty. Let's get down to the ring and find out just how ugly it's going to be…

**Vader vs. Scott Hall; Falls Count Anywhere match**

As the music of the Wolfpac fills the air, Scott Hall enters the arena to a large amount of boos from the crowd, who don't seem to be appreciative of his taunting as he comes down the aisle. HE makes his way to the ring, but doesn't have much time to continue to mock the crowd, as It's time, It's time, It's VADER TIME! Blares over the sound system, and the big man enters the arena, coming down to the ring quickly. He rolls into the ring, and the action immediately gets underway.

The two men exchange punches back and forth for the first several minutes of the match, with neither man able to put the other one down. Finally, Hall is able to stun Vader by ducking a punch and delivering several of his own right in a row. He presses the advantage, continuing to nail Vader with right hands, backing him into the ropes. He tries to whip Vader into he ropes, but has it reversed, and gets caught with a big backdrop by Vader. Vader backs off the ropes himself and drops down with a splash, covering Hall for a close two count. Vader continues on the assault, pounding away on Hall with right and left hands, backing him into the corner. Hall tries to fight back out, and actually manages to back Vader off, but charges right into a big Avalanche that puts him back down again.

Vader looks to be going for the, and begins to drag Hall closer to the corner, before getting on the second turnbuckle in position for a Vader Bomb. He bounces on the ropes a few times, but misses the splash attempt when Hall is able to roll out of the ring. With Vader down, Hall goes back to work, pulling Vader's head outside the ring and dropping the point of his elbow across the big mans throat several times. Hall continues pulling Vader outside the ring, bringing him down onto the floor. From there, Hall ships Vader hard into the steel guardrail before nailing Vader with a measured discus right hand that puts Vader down. Hall goes for the pin on the floor, but the referee only manages a quick 2 count before Vader brings his shoulder up. Hall grabs a chair and keeps the offense going by bringing it down hard across the back of Vader repeatedly, driving him back down to his knees. Hall tries to pick Vader up, but Vader gets a shot to the side of his head, knocking Hall backwards and allowing Vader to stand under his own power. Vader charges at Hall, who moves out of the way, sending Vader into another section of the guardrail. Hall goes back after Vader as the action spills into the aisle.

Hall follows Vader down the aisle, delivering shots to the head in between taunting of the big man. He attempts a pin a couple of times, but is not able to hold Vader's shoulders to the ground. Hall even manages to pick Vader up for a slam, bringing him down hard onto the concrete besides the aisle. This is still not enough to get the pin however, which seems to be frustrating Hall somewhat. He throws Vader onto the stage, and signals for the Outsiders Edge, bringing the crowd to their feet in anticipation. Vader blocks the move however, by grabbing Halls feet, and manages to straighten up, sending Hall over his back and bringing him down hard onto the stage. This time, Vader attempts a cover, but cannot keep Hall down for the three. He picks Hall up, and signals for HIS finishing move, the Powerbomb. This time however, it is HALL'S turn to block the move, using a low blow to prevent Vader from picking him up. Hall goes back to the right hands as the actions beings to move behind the crown into the technicians area. Vader fights back with his own right hands, and the two are soon going at it face to face next to the sound booth, with arena workers scrambling to move the electrical equipment out of the way. They get it moved just in time, as Hall charges at Vader, only for Vader to backdrop him right through the sound table! Fortunately for Hall, the equipment had already been moved, but the impact still knocks the wind out of him. Vader seizes the advantage and picks Hall up for another Powerbomb attempt, this time managing to hit the move right onto the remains of the broken table! As the crowd cheers for the devastating move, Vader covers Hall, leaving the referee to count the 3 amongst the rubble, giving Vader the victory.

*Vader stands shakily to his feet as the ref raises his hand, before slowly walking back towards the stage. The fans applaud for the effort of BOTH men, though Hall is still out and cannot hear this appreciation for his efforts*

Part 2 of 2:

MT: An absolutely brutal match between two of the top heavyweight wrestlers in the world. Neither Vader nor Scott Hall wanted to go down, and the physical results will be felt by both men for a long, long time.

DM: Brutal is a good word to describe that one Tenay. I thought that Scott Hall was going to pull off the win there, but Vader came back with a couple of HUGE moves at the end to get the victory. Of course, like you said, I think BOTH of these guys are going to be feeling this one for a while.

MT: Moving along fans, we come to yet ANOTHER shift in style, as the competitors in our next match are two of the best overall, complete wrestlers I've ever seen. Cruiserweight Champion Eddie Guerrero can do it all, from ground based technical wrestling, to the high flying lucha libre style, to the high impact Japanese style, and everything in between. And his challenger for the Cruiserweight Title tonight, Dean Malenko, is one of the premier technical wrestlers in the business today. This next matchup should be a classic.

DM: Not to mention the fact that, in addition to the conflict between the two in the past few weeks, these two men have met many times before in other organizations, whether it be in Japan, or in other U.S. based promotions. They know each other very well, and it's going to take one of them elevating their game to a new level to get a victory here tonight.

MT: Very true once again, Dave. But in a way, you have to give the edge to the champion, Eddie Guerrero. As has been well documented, Eddie is willing and able to do whatever it takes to hold onto that belt, and he's shown that he's not above some less than ethical tactics to ensure a victory.

DM: Tenay, you may call it less than ethical, but it's what's kept the belt around Eddie waist so far, and I DON'T see him changing styles here tonight.

MT: Be that as it may, he'll have a stiff test with Dean Malenko, who isn't called the "Man of 1,000 Holds" for no reason. Fans, it's time for that match, next!

**Dean Malenko vs. Eddie Guerrero©; Cruiserweight Title match**

Malenko enters first to a good sized reaction from the crowd, who seems ready to see more great wrestling action. The entrance of champion Eddie Guerrero is marked by a pronounced negative response, which Eddie makes even louder by mocking the crowd on his way down the aisle. He rolls quickly into the ring, and gets right in Malenko's face, before slowly handing the title belt to the referee. The ref signals for the bell, and the match begins.

Both men slowly circle each other, obviously trying to avoid making the first mistake against such a well-known opponent. They lockup, and immediately go into a series of holds and reversals, exchanging several pinfall attempts, all of which are quickly escaped. They break and stare at each other at the crowd applauds their efforts. Another lock up is met with a similar series of moves, this time however ending with Malenko trapped in a side headlock. He backs up to the ropes and throws Eddie off, leapfrogging him on the rebound, and sending the two into yet another series of reversals off of the ropes, with Malenko finally getting the upper hand with a big clothesline that puts Eddie down. Malenko covers, but only gets one count, before locking in a body scissors on the champ.

He works this hold for several minutes, also pulling back on the arm of Guerrero, before releasing and grabbing Eddie's leg, slapping on a leglock to soften him up for the Texas Cloverleaf. He grinds the hold in for several minutes, alternating between this hold and a series of elbowdrops and kneedrops to Eddie's leg. Finally, Eddie is able to reach the ropes, which forces Malenko to break the hold. Eddie holds his knee in pain, but proves to be in better shape than thought, as he suckers Malenko into the corner and uses a thumb to the eye to regain control. He starts to work over Dean in the corner, using a combination of rapid fire elbows to the back of the head along with forearms to the side of Malenko's head. Pulling Malenko out of the corner, Eddie begins to work on his ribs, using a variety of kicks and knees to set Malenko up for a possible Frog Splash.

The punishment continues as Eddie whips Dean into the ropes, nailing a big tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on the rebound. He covers, but Malenko is able to kick out at 2. Eddie keeps the pressure on by continuing to apply pressure to ribs, even locking Malenko into an abdominal stretch at one point. Eddie works Malenko over further by pounding his elbow into his ribs, inflicting more damage to this area. Malenko tries to fight out of it with a hiptoss, but Eddie manages to land on his feet and bring another knee up into his ribcage area. He continues to work over the ribs of Malenko, this time putting him into his OWN version of a body scissors, squeezing the air from Malenko's lungs while also applying more pressure to the ribs.

He keeps Malenko in this hold for a few minutes, periodically signaling for the referee to check and see if Malenko is giving up. Each time Dean shakes his head no, however, leading Eddie to reapply even more pressure to the ribs. Eventually, he breaks the hold and goes back to stomping and dropping knees to the stomach, before using his boot to simply push Malenko down onto the floor. Eddie retreats to the other side of the ring and waits for Dean to stand back up. When he does, Eddie charges and delivers a baseball slide dropkick to his side, knocking him forward, ribs first into the guardrail. Eddie follows this up by waiting for Malenko to turn back around, and then springing over the top rope with a big pescado, taking Dean down hard onto the concrete. Eddie quickly grabs the fallen challenger and throws him back inside the ring, trying for a quick cover once there. Malenko is again able to kick out, which seems to frustrate Guerrero, as he begins to argue with the referee.

This break in concentration allows Malenko to get back to his feet and roll Eddie up from behind, though the champion is still alert enough to kick out before a 3 count. He turns to go after Dean, only to be tripped up by a drop toehold, sending him down onto Malenko's level. Dean shifts over and grabs his leg, pulling back on it in a vicious manner. Eddie tries to counter this sudden move into a submission of his own, but Malenko rolls through and flips Eddie over, before suddenly applying the Texas Cloverleaf to a surprised Guerrero. Unfortunately for Malenko, Eddie is too near the ropes, and grabs the bottom one, which forces Dean to break. He goes right after Eddie again though, but is stopped by another shot to the ribs. With Dean doubled over, Eddie seems to be ready to go for the kill, and grabs one of Deans hands. He positions himself, then runs to the ropes, springing up to the top, before coming off with a swinging hurricanrana takedown into a pin. He almost is able to hold Malenko down, but the challenger gets his shoulder up just before the three count. Sensing that he is almost through, Eddie goes back up top, this time signaling to the crowd that a Frog Splash is on the way. He signals too soon however, as Malenko is able to get to his feet and catch Eddie on the rope. HE tries to throw Eddie off, but is unable to as the Champion fights back, grabbing Dean's hand again. He seems to be going for another swinging hurricanrana, obviously looking to end the match right now.

Malenko has other ideas however, and catches Eddie on the way down, before slamming him down hard with a brutal powerbomb! He covers, and gets a 2.9999 count before Guerrero is able to kick out. The crowds buzz increases as Dean picks Eddie up again, going for a second powerbomb. This time however, it's EDDIE'S turn to reverse a move, as he uses his momentum to take Malenko down with another hurricanrana pin, which is in turn reversed by Malenko into ANOTHER pinning predicament. Eddie kicks out by slamming his feet into Malenko's head, which allows him to roll through and go for another pinfall on Malenko. This time however, he not only manages to pin his shoulders to the mat, but also bring his legs down over his head, and finishes the pin off by placing his OWN feet on the ropes, just out of the referee's line of sight. With the ref unable to see the cheating, Malenko is helpless to stop the 3 count, letting Eddie retain his Cruiserweight Title.

*Eddie looks to be trying to leave the ring quickly, but he is caught by Malenko, who is not too happy with the cheap nature of his loss. He gets in Eddie's face, and the two begin to argue back and forth, leading to more blows being exchanged. The referee is helpless to stop them, and the fight spills out into the ringside area, finally heading back up the aisle and behind the curtain*

(93/90/96; ****1/4; Cruiserweight Title gained image)

MT: What a fantastic match, marred somewhat by the manner in which Eddie Guerrero gained his victory.

DM: You know Tenay, you're half right. That WAS a fantastic match, but I don't think it was marred by how Eddie won. Like I said before, he's willing to do whatever it takes to hold onto his belt. Tonight, it was a pull of the tights. That's classic old school "cheating" if you weeeelll…

MT: Dave, I hate to say this, but you sounded just like my partner for Thunder, Dusty Rhodes when you said that.

DM: Watch your mouth Tenay. Back on the subject, I think that, although he lost, Dean Malenko showed that he's not going to back off from his chase for the Cruiserweight Title.

MT: Absolutely not, Dave. Dean Malenko came too close to winning the belt for me to believe he's going to give up now. Of course, like we talked about before, Eddie will do anything to keep that belt around his waist. And speaking of men wanting to keep a title by any means necessary…

DM: Ah, the king of the segueway returns…

MT: *Glancing briefly at his partner* As I was saying, speaking of men who will do anything to hold onto their title, our next match features a man who, I have to say, has undergone a change in attitude over the past several months. And that man is Chris Jericho. Ever since he won the Television Title from Booker T back in January, Jericho has demonstrated a definite mean, vicious streak that we hadn't seen evidence of before. And the man who's been the recipient of this mean streak, has been one Booker T. These two have put on some classic matches the past few months, and tonight should prove to be no different.

DM: Of course, the stakes are a little bit higher tonight. Not only is the Television Title on the line, but they're competing in an I Quit match. Tenay, this kind of match has such a high potential for injury. Fans, for those of you who may not be aware of the rules of this match, basically anything goes. However, in order to win, your opponent must say I Quit. The referee will have a mic, and he may do the asking, or the wrestler may do the asking, but either way, it will continue until someone says the magic words. And knowing these two guys, this one may go on for quite some time.

MT: Not much I can add to that, except to say that the match, is NEXT!

**Chris Jericho© vs. Booker T; I Quit match for the Television Title**

Booker is the first to enter, and soon has the crowd on their feet "raising the roof". He enters the ring quickly, and paces, waiting anxiously for Jericho to come down the aisle. When he does, he is greeted by massive amounts of boos from the crowd, who all seem to be looking forward to Jericho getting beaten by Booker T. He slowly makes his way to the ring, pausing to hand his belt to the timekeeper, before entering the ring slowly, obviously uneasy about the match to come. After some brief instructions by the ref, who is holding a mic, the match gets underway.

Jericho immediately tries to leave the ring, only to be caught by Booker T, who proceeds to beat Jericho from one side of the ring to the other for the first several minutes of the match, which brings the crowd to it's feet. Booker uses an array of kicks, punches, and clotheslines to keep Jericho down and off balance, barely allowing him time to stand between each attack. Jericho is finally able to suck a clothesline attempt, and dives out of the ring, where he begins to stumble up the aisle. Booker follows though, and catches Jericho with a blow to the back of the head. He keeps up the assault outside the ring, whipping Jericho repeatedly into the steel barricade, before catching him with a big spinebuster right onto the steel rampway. He signals for the ref to ask Jericho is he quits, but Jericho shakes his head, and the match continues.

Booker continues to beat Jericho up the aisle, and finally onto the stage area. He charges at Jericho again, but Jericho catches him with a backdrop that brings him crashing down hard onto the stage. With Booker momentarily stunned, Jericho is able to catch his breath, and begins his own offensive assault. He begins by giving Booker a running dropkick to the side of the head, which pushes him dangerously close to the edge of the stage. Jericho then backs up and delivers another dropkick, this time, almost pushing Booker right over. The third time proves to be the charm, as yet another dropkick knocks Booker off of the stage and down onto the floor. Jericho climbs down after grabbing the mic form the ref and asks booker if he wants to quit. Booker responds by catching Jericho in the stomach with an elbow, before sending him headfirst into the side of the stage.

The actions continues as both men brawl back down through the crowd towards the stage, where Jericho reverse a whip to the barricade, sending Booker flying over and onto the concrete. Jericho pushes a fan off his chair, and jumps over the railing, bringing the chair down hard on Booker's back. Jericho uses the chair to great advantage, nailing Booker with several hard shots, but misses when he tries to hammer Booker's head into the ringpost. Booker ducks this attempt, and comes back with a Harlem Sidekick that plants the chair right back into Jericho's face. The referee has finally caught up with the action, and Booker grabs the mic, asking Jericho if he gives up. Jericho doesn't say anything, so Booker picks him up and sends him headfirst into the ringpost, busting Jericho open in the process. Jericho crawls into the ring to try to escape, but is followed by Booker T, who has picked up the chair, and begins to go to work on Jericho with it. He nails the Champion repeatedly in the head with the chair, widening the cut in his forehead. Booker signals for the ref to see if Jericho quits, but again he gets no response. Booker tries to pick Jericho back up, but is met with a kick to the groin, taking him down to the mat in pain.

With both men down, it's a question of who will be able to get back to their feet to continue the assault. In this case, it's Jericho, who stumbles back to his feet before Booker can rise. Seeing his opponent down on the mat, Jericho runs the ropes and comes off with a nicely executed Lionsault. He attempts a cover, only to remember that there are no pinfalls in this match. Jericho rolls back out of the ring, and begins to search underneath, dragging out several more chairs, which he tosses into the ring, as well as a ladder! The crowd begins to buzz as Jericho gets back in the ring with the ladder, waiting for Booker T to rise. When he does Jericho charges and nails Booker in the head with the ladder, sending him back into the ropes, where his arms get tangled. Jericho takes advantage of Booker helplessness, and begins to ram the ladder into Booker's stomach repeatedly, before using the end to catch Booker in the head with a huge shot, which busts BOOKER T open. With both men bleeding, the ref steps in and asks Booker T is he wants to quit, at which time Booker yells "HELL NO!", causing the fans to pop in support for Booker. Jericho tries to toss the ladder at Booker's head, but he is able to free himself from the ropes just in time, and avoid the shot. Instead, he grabs a chair, and brings it up right in-between Jericho's legs, which drops Jericho like a rock.

Both men are down on the mat again, but neither will quit, even with the ref giving both the opportunity to do so. They struggle to their feet at the same time, and begin to exchange blows back and forth, as the crowd is on the edge of their seats. Jericho takes the advantage after a missed shot by Booker T, and sends him to the corner with a dropkick to the chin. Jericho looks around the ring for something, and grabs the closest item, a wooden chair. He turns and charges Booker in the corner, taking a big swing right at his head. Booker ducks the shot, and the chair come apart as it connects with the turnbuckle, shattering into several pieces. Booker gives Jericho a kick to the stomach, then comes off the ropes with an Axe Kick, putting Jericho back down. When Booker comes up, he has a strange look in his eyes, as he stares down at the pieces of the chair lying in the ring. He picks up a short, sharp piece, and glances down at Jericho, then back at the crowd. They seem to support whatever he has in mind, and as they cheer him on, he stalks Jericho, waiting for him to get back to his feet. When he does, Booker grabs him and nails him right in the head with the stake, taking him right back down. Booker drops to his knees by Jericho's head, and begins to grind the stake into the face of the champion, causing the blood to gush from Jericho's forehead. After only a few seconds of this torture, the referee asks if Jericho wants to quit, and even without the mic, Jericho's screams of "I QUIT! I QUIT I QUIT!" can be heard throughout the arena. With these words, the referee calls for the bell, pulling Booker T off of Jericho, and declaring him the winner, and NEW Television Champion!

*Booker raises his Title Belt above his head, as the blood continues to flow form both him and Jericho. Booker tries to offer Jericho a hand to help him up, only to have it slapped away as Jericho struggles to his feet on his own. He stares at Booker for a moment before exiting the ring in a disgusted manner. Booker just shrugs his shoulders, before turning back to celebrate his hard fought victory with the fans*

(94/93/95; ****1/2)

MT: That match was an absolutely brutal, classic, WAR Dave. I haven't seen a match like that in a long, long time.

DM: Tenay, the best thing I can say about that match, is that the last time I saw anything like that, I was watching the match that Booker T took that ending from, featuring Magnum TA against Tully Blanchard in one of the great matches of all time.

MT: And just like that match Dave, I don't think this match tonight has settled the score between Jericho and Booker T. I have a feeling that these two will meet again for the Television Title.

DM: Tenay, looking at this match tonight, which I have a feeling will go down as an all-time classic, I wouldn't mind these two guys hooking up SEVERAL more times, for ANY title.

MT: I can't argue with you there partner. Now fans, the next match we have for you tonight, is a match that I personally have been looking forward to for some time. Ever since Ric Flair called Bret Hart out at the beginning of this year, Hart has done everything in his power to avoid Ric Flair. Well last month, at Superbrawl, Flair finally got the chance to get his hands on Bret Hart, only to have Hart blatantly cheat to sneak out a victory. Well tonight, Ric Flair gets a chance to not only get his revenge for last month, but to settle this issue once and for all, in a match that is tailor made for both of these men, a submission match.

DM: Two of the most legendary wrestlers in the sport, who use two of the most legendary HOLDS in the sport, will be going face to face in that ring in just a few minutes. The only way to win, is to make your opponent submit. You know Tenay, I wouldn't want to be Bret Hart right now.

MT: Really? Why's that Dave.

DM: You see, I talked to Ric Flair backstage earlier today, and let me tell you, this man is SERIOUS about not only winning the match, but on BREAKING Bret Hart's leg.

MT: You can hardly blame Ric Flair for feeling that way, after the way Bret Hart has treated him over the past several months. Fans, I'm going to try not to let my personal feelings interfere with calling this match objectively, but it's going to be difficult. So much emotion is riding on this one.

DM: I understand where you're coming from Tenay, but we have to look at this for what it is: a chance to see two legends go one on one, one more time. Speaking of which, let's head to ringside for that one, right now…

**Bret Hart vs. Ric Flair; Submission match**

A massive amount of boos greets Bret "The Hitman" Hart as he slowly walks to the ring. He ignores the fans reaction, seemingly focused only on the job at hand. He waits in the ring, staring at the entranceway. He doesn't have to wait long though, as soon the music of "Also Sprach Zarathustra" fills the arena, drawing the crowd back to their feet for the entrance of "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. He makes his way down to the ring, taking time out to add some well placed WHOOO's, but seems to be also focused almost totally on Hart. He finally makes it to the ring, and as the bell rings, the matchup has begun.

The two start off slowly, each circling the other before attempting a lockup. Flair ducks the lock up and throws in a WHOOO for good measure, infuriating Hart, who charges him. He is met by a big chop form Flair that echoes through the arena, and starts his retreat. He is caught before he can exit, and Flair begins to chop away at Hart, blistering his chest from the force. Flair backs him into the corner, where he continues chopping away, until Hart is able to come back with a shot to the midsection. He reverses their position in the corner, and begins to pound away at Flair, using punches and kicks to wear him down. He then attempts a whip into the opposite corner, only for Flair to reverse it and send him hard into the turnbuckle. Flair follows with a charge, but eats boot and goes down to one knee. Bret goes back to work, picking Flair up and using a backbreaker to start the work towards a submission, grinding his knee into the back after delivering the move. He drops Flair and moves to the legs, dropping several knees in an attempt to soften up the leg for the Sharpshooter.

Hart continues to work over the knee, using a variety of holds, including a vicious cross knee breaker that looks to almost get the submission itself, until Flair is able to reach the ropes. Hart allows Flair to get back to his feet, before taking him back down with a chop block like maneuver. Flair rolls out of the ring to try to regain feeling in his leg, but is followed out by Hart, who seems anxious to finish the match quickly. He goes after Flair and tries to clothesline him from behind, only for Flair to anticipate this move and duck, sending Hart shoulder first into the ringpost. He grabs at his shoulder as Flair rolls him back into the ring.

As Flair gets back inside also, he begins to go to work on Hart's shoulder, using an armringer and a series of elbows to the shoulder area. The crowd doesn't seem to know how to react to this strategy, as they are clearly expecting Flair to use the Figure Four at some point. However, Flair stays on the arm, even pulling out an armdrag (!) into an armbar to work on the injured body part. Hart comes back with several right hands, forcing Flair to break the hold. However, "The Nature Boy" doesn't let up on the offense, going back to the chops, reddening Hart's chest even more, before locking in a front chancery. He tries to pick Hart up for a suplex, but Bret blocks the move and reverses to an attempt of his own. The strain proves to be too much for his arm though, and Flair is able to reverse the reversal, picking Hart up for a picture perfect delayed vertical suplex. Hart crashes down onto the mat hard, and immediately grabs at his shoulder, which was injured in the fall. Flair goes back to the armbar, trying to force the submission, only to have Hart once again break the hold, this time by a rake to the face.

With Flair temporarily blinded, Hart is able to regain his feet and begins to pound away on Flair to keep him down. He then moves back to the legs, dropping several more elbows to try once again to prepare the leg for the Sharpshooter. Flair tries to fight back, but is stopped at each attempt as Hart begins to really twist the leg with a leglock, pulling back as hard as he can. Flair manages to make the ropes, but this proves only a temporary relief, because as soon as Flair is back to his feet, Bret grabs the injured leg, and whips him back down to the ground using a modified dragon screw legwhip. He continues to use a series of leg locks to wear down Flair, although Flair refuses to submit at any time. Hart then suddenly lets go of the hold, and picks up both of Flairs legs, obviously going for the Sharpshooter. As he tries to lock in the hold however, Flair uses his good leg to push Hart off into the turnbuckle, injuring the shoulder once again. He grabs the injured arm, but still turns back and drops an driving elbow with the good arm to keep Flair down. He goes for the Sharpshooter again, and this time manages to lock the hold in, causing the crowd to nearly collapse in worry. Flair screams out in pain, but will not submit. As the crowd cheers him on, he begins to fight his way to the ropes, and seems to be almost there, when Hart lunges forward, pulling Flair back into the middle of the ring.

Hart rocks back, putting huge pressure on the back and legs of Flair, but Flair still refuses to submit. Hart continues to pull back on the hold, as Flair desperately tries to reach the ropes. The crowd is on their feet, urging him on, when he is finally able to grab t he very bottom rope, meaning Hart will have to break the hold. He refuses to do so until the referee counts three however, and only releases to avoid a dq. Hart argues with the referee that Flair must have been submitting, which gives Flair a chance to creep up behind him and NAIL him with a low blow. Hart drops hard to the ground, leaving Flair to stand back to his feet. He looks down at the fallen Hart, then out at the audience, who respond by cheering like crazy, as he gives a big WHOO, and NOW, WHOOOOO IT'S TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL! as Flair locks in the Figure Four Leglock on "The Hitman". The crowd goes crazy as it's now Hart's turn to scream in pain, as he immediately starts trying to counter the hold. He doesn't submit however, and is actually able to roll over, causing Flair to break the hold. Flair looks perplexed at how easily Hart was able to break free, but the answer soon becomes obvious, as Hart is able to still walk with few problems. He stands to his feet, just as Flair comes form behind, taking him down with an amateur style rolling cradle that pins Hart's left shoulder and arm back in an awkward position. Hart struggle to escape, but Flair pulls back harder on the hold, trying to separate the shoulder from its socket. Hart tries to get to his feet, but is brought back down by the intense pain. In a last attempt to break loose, Hart tries to roll through the hold, but Flair uses his superior leverage from this position to keep the hold locked in. Having no other choice, Bret Hart is forced to submit, giving the victory to "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair!

*As Hart grasps his shoulder in pain, Flair raises his arms in an emotional show of celebration. With tears running down his face, he turns and thanks all four sides of the crowd, as the people give him a standing ovation for finally proving once and for all that Bret Hart was wrong, and that Ric Flair is STILL The Man*

(86/90/80?; ***1/2; Bret Hart gained overness from this feud ending)

MT: An amazing display of heart and determination by Ric Flair. What a great moment, and what a great match, Dave.

DM: You know Tenay, it's not often I say this, but moments like that make me proud to be a wrestling fan. Ric Flair fought through so much, not only in that match, but in the past YEAR, that to see him come to on top in this situation is something very special.

MT: It's funny, because everyone was expecting Ric Flair to come out and go right after the leg of Bret Hart and beat him with the Figure Four. But as you saw fans, Bret Hart injured his shoulder early on in the match, and THAT proved to be the way to victory for Ric Flair.

DM: I could tell Flair was surprised when Hart broke the Figure Four so easily Tenay, but really, Flair hadn't done much to soften up Hart FOR the Figure Four. It's just a testament to the kind of wrestler Ric Flair is, that he was able to adjust and go with a different strategy for the win.

MT: Certainly not the way I expected to see the match end. But really Dave, the method doesn't matter. What DOES matter is that Ric Flair has proved once again that he CAN still go face to face with the best in the business, and get it done inside the ring. My hat's off to him.

DM: Don't forget Bret Hart though Tenay. You and I might not agree with his attitude, but he fought a heckuva match here tonight as well, and came very close to pulling off another big win over "The Nature Boy".

MT: That he did, Dave, that he did. But in the end, there can only be one winner. And tonight, that winner was Ric Flair. Now fans, we've come to the end of the evening, to the match we've been anticipating ever since it was first announced several weeks ago. Ever since before Starrcade last year, Kevin Nash and Goldberg have been at each other's throats. The events AT Starrcade only provoked the issue, and things have been hotter than ever since then. Last month at Superbrawl, we saw Goldberg defeat Kevin Nash for the World Title. But that wasn't enough for Nash. He wanted one more shot at Goldberg. And tonight he's got it, in a steel cage, Goldberg versus Kevin Nash, for the World Title.

DM: It doesn't get much bigger than this match-up Tenay. These are two of the biggest, strongest, meanest men in the business today. And put them inside a steel cage, and you've got a recipe for brutality. Of course, with the rules of this match, which is NO escape, pinfall or submission win only, that recipe just got, as one of my good friends would say, KICKED UP A NOTCH.

MT: Fans, the talking is over and it's time for the match. Goldberg and Nash, one last time, in a steel cage. That match, is NOW!

**Goldberg © vs. Kevin Nash; Steel Cage match for the World Title**

"Ode to Wolfpac" fills the arena once again, along with huge boos, as the challenger, "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash saunters down the aisle while the steel cage lowers from above. Nash slowly enters the cage after walking around to "test" the structure. He waits silently inside, staring directly at where the Champion should soon be entering. After a few moments of anticipation, the familiar music hits, and the fans jump to their feet at the entrance of the World Champion, Goldberg. He wastes no time in making his way to the ring, practically sprinting up the steel steps, giving his belt to the ref and immediately heading for Nash as we begin the main event.

The two men meet in the middle and begin to exchange blows right away, forgoing a lockup or any feeling out period. They exchange blows back and forth for several minutes before Nash catches Goldberg with a knee to the stomach, which staggers the Champion. Nash follows up by trying to send Goldberg into the cage only to have the attempt blocked by Goldberg, who instead rams NASH face first into the steel. Goldberg again rams Nash into the steel cage, causing Nash to fall back first onto the mat, leading to a quick 1 count. Goldberg does not let up on the assault, picking Nash up and driving his knee into Nash's stomach several times, before whipping him into the opposite corner. When he tries to follow Nash in however, he is met by an elbow from the big man, which again staggers Goldberg. Nash delivers another knee to the stomach and some shots to the side of the head, which keep Goldberg off balance long enough for Nash to regain his breath.

Once Nash is more stable, he throws Goldberg back into the corner, and begins to work him over with a series of elbows, including one of his infamous "framed" elbows. Nash taunts the crowd when they boo this move, and sets up for another one. This time though, Goldberg grabs his arm and takes him down into a fujiwara armbar (!) surprising both Nash AND the crowd. Goldberg works this hold for a few minutes, before Nash is finally able to get back to his feet and run Goldberg sideways into the corner. Goldberg continues to be relentless on the assault, coming back after Nash and scooping him up for what appears to be a slam, but instead ends up being a snap powerslam. Goldberg covers again, bust only receives a 2 count before Nash is able to kick out. The Champion goes to pick Nash up again, but this time Nash grabs the tights and pulls him head first right through the ropes and into the cage, which stuns Goldberg. Nash takes advantage and runs Goldberg several more times into the cage. As Nash picks him back up, we can see that Goldberg has been cut open, which Nash tries to exploit by delivering several shots with the point of the elbow right into Goldberg's forehead. With Nash now firmly in control, he looks to slow the pace down even more (?) and keep Goldberg down on the mat.

In order to do this, Nash decides to send Goldberg head first back into the steel cage, which he manages to do several times. Seeing the success he is having with this strategy, Nash again picks up Goldberg, this time lifting him onto this shoulder in position for a powerslam, but instead "running" towards the cage walls and throwing Goldberg headfirst into them in a javelin like throw. This knocks Goldberg down, and Nash attempts a pin, getting a near 3 count when Goldberg kicks out. Nash goes for the move again, seemingly trying to put Goldberg THROUGHT the cage, but this time the plan backfires, as Goldberg slips off Nash's shoulder and sends HIM into the cage, which causes NASH to be busted open. Goldberg charges Nash and takes him down with a big clothesline, before covering him for another 2 count. Nash seems ready for the pickings, and Goldberg tries to take advantage by waiting for Nash to stand and then delivering a Superkick that almost takes Nash's head off. This is still not enough to get the pin however, and Goldberg begins to make signals for the Spear and Jackhammer to finally finish off the big man.

Nash stands slowly to his feet, using the ropes to assist him. Goldberg stalks Nash, waiting until Nash turns around to charge in with a Spear attempt. Goldberg miscalculates how injured the challenger really is however, as Nash steps aside at the last moment, sending Goldberg crashing into, and then THROUGH a panel of the steel cage! Goldberg tears the bottom half of the panel loose form the rest of the cage with the force of the impact, causing the crowd to erupt in a HOLY SHIT, HOLY SHIT chant. Goldberg appears to be OUT as Nash picks up his lifeless body from the canvas, and sets him up for what everyone assumes to be a formality Jackknife Powerbomb. Nash powers Goldberg up and lets him drop hard onto the mat, as he falls to his knees to cover him. The referee drops down and counts 1-2-2.99 as Goldberg JUST manages to shoot his shoulder up before the three count. Nash looks at the ref in disbelief as the fans chant Goldberg's name in unison.

Nash shove the ref down and picks Goldberg up for another Powerbomb attempt, but this time the Champion is able to stop the move by backdropping Nash over his shoulder and into the steel wall himself! Goldberg seems to draw energy from the crowd as he picks Nash up, and rams his head first into the cage wall again. He does this again and again, sending Nash into all four sides of the cage repeatedly, leaving Nash a bloody mess. Finally, it's time for Goldberg to finish Nash for good, as he sets up again for the Spear. As Nash stands, Goldberg charges, only for Nash to raise the big boot in an attempt to catch Goldberg in the face. Goldberg ducks however , and rebounds off the opposite ropes, catching Nash as he turns with a HUGE Spear. With the crowd roaring it's approval, Goldberg pulls Nash off of the canvas, slapping on the suplex position, and lifting him high into the air. He holds Nash aloft for several seconds, before bringing him back down hard with a perfect Jackhammer! The count is merely a formality at this point, a Nash is unable to get a shoulder up before the referee counts to three, leaving Goldberg the winner and STILL the champion!

*As the crowd stands to it's feet and cheers as loudly as possible, Goldberg grabs his belt and climbs one turnbuckle, pulling himself up to stand above the cage, holding the belt in the air for everyone to see*

(81/92/58(icky); ***1/4; Kevin Nash gained overness from this feud ending; The World Title has gained image)

MT: What an ending to a great match! And what an ending to a great night of WCW action. Fans, I'd say that you got your money's worth here tonight.

DM: If there's anyone who feels like the didn't they can take it up with that man in the ring right there, Tenay, our World Champion, Goldberg.

MT: Fans, we'd like to thank you all for joining us this evening, and would like to remind everyone that tomorrow night is Nitro, which will feature more of the same great actions and superstars you saw here tonight. For myself, Mike Tenay, and my partner, Dave Meltzer good night everybody!

*As the PPV closes, we are treated to one final shot of Goldberg celebrating on the turnbuckle as the cage raises, the bloody Nash still out on the canvas*

Monday, March 29th:

*HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! That's what's playing on my stereo at the moment. And why? Because last night was Uncensored, and last night went GREAT. I had a REALLY good feeling about this one. And hey, even my meeting with Mr. Turner went well. Didn't take too long, but he told me, and I quote, "You've got a job here as long as you want. After the way things have turned around, I wouldn't be surprised if Vince McMahon himself gave you a call..." Not bad, eh? Of course, there are still the monthly notes from Sophie, who should be here right about...now.*

Sophie: *Knocking on the door* Can I come in?

Me: *Told you so* Sure Sophie, come on in. Entre, entre,

Sophie: What's with the French?

Me: I'm just in a good mood tonight. And I'm HOPING that I'll be in an even BETTER mood after you get done. Whatcha got for me?

Sophie: Umm, good news, good news, and MORE good news. Let's start with attendance. We had almost 18,000 people at Uncensored last night. 17,981 to be exact.

Me: Wow, that's great. What about the approval rating?

Sophie: 85%, so apparently a LOT of people liked the show last night.

Me: 85% huh? Not bad, not bad at all. That's about what I was expecting, to be honest with you. What about the "crowd favorite" match that I asked you about?

Sophie: Well, a couple of the matches were right up there. But I think that Jericho and Booker T had the match of the night, AGAIN. Those two guys REALLY seem to have good chemistry in the ring together.

Me: I know, and believe me, I'm gonna milk this thing for as long as I can. The audience is eating them up with a spoon, and as long as they are, they'll get what they want. Of course, I'm ALSO anxious to get going with the NEXT program for the TV title, but I feel pretty sure both guys involved in that one won't have a problem with waiting.

Sophie: I hope not. By the way, Ric Flair wanted me to apologize to you, for him.

Me: Apologize? For what?

Sophie: For what he says was a "substandard" performance last night.

Me: Substandard? What's he talking about? I mean, the guy was SICK, and he and Bret STILL put on a great match. I think everything went great between the two of them, so tell him don't worry about it. And tell him, if he's ever worried that I'm not happy with something, just come ask me. I know he's used to not doing that, since I mean, we all KNOW how much Bischoff liked confrontations, right?

Sophie: OH yeah. Anyway, I'll pass along the message for ya. Now, as far as the buyrate goes...

Me: Go ahead, hit me with it.

Sophie: Well, keep in mind this is just a preliminary number, but it looks to be about 1.66. By way of comparison, WWF did a 1.98, so we're closing the gap.

Me: Great. I'm hoping that maybe by the next PPV, Spring Stampede, we'll be even closer. How did everyone react to the "surprise guest" in the Raven-Hak match?

Sophie: Everyone seemed to like it. Some of the crowd didn't know who Sabu was, of course, but those who DID were VERY vocal about it. And he did a lot to get himself over quickly with that dive off of the screen. Did you book that?

Me: Not that EXACT spot, but I DID tell him to think of something spectacular, so that he could enter with an impact.

Sophie: I'd say he succeeded. By the way, do you have the booking sheet for Nitro ready? Some of the guys were asking about it.

Me: It's on the chair by the door. Look it over, let me know if you think anything needs changing.

Sophie: Will do. Listen, I have to run and get a few things done before tonight.

Me: Oh really? Big plans?

Sophie: Sort of. I've got a date, so I need to run by the hairdressers and the cleaners. I'll pass out the booking sheet and get everyone up to speed on that. Let me know if you need anything else.

Me: Oh. Ok, well, thanks Sophie.

*She walks out, leaving me with one thought. Well, two actually. 1. Who does she have a date with? And 2. Why does the thought bother me so much?*

Nitro!

*As the show begins, still shots, mixed with "action scenes" from last nights PPV, Uncensored, flash across the screen, showing all of the action, the blood, the celebration of the previous nights events. The final shot shows Goldberg holding aloft his World Title belt as the cage raises, with Kevin Nash down on the canvas in the background*

*9,031 people are in attendance, and they make their presence felt as the music plays to welcome us to another edition of WCW Monday Nitro. After some fast shots of the crowd, the camera focuses in on our hosts for the evening, Mike Tenay and Dave Meltzer*

Mike Tenay: Good evening everybody, and welcome to another great edition of WCW Monday Nitro. Fans, we're coming off one of the most brutal nights in WCW history, as last night was TRULY an "Uncensored" evening. And the same great action you saw last nigh will carry on here tonight, we guarantee. With me as always, my partner, Dave Meltzer. Dave, your thoughts on last night's event, as well as tonight's card?

Dave Meltzer: Tenay, my thoughts should be pretty well known by everyone who read my newsletter, the Wrestling Observer, last night. But for those of you not fortunate enough to receive that publication, in my opinion, last night was the best PPV WCW has put on in quite some time. It had it all, great wrestling, brutal hardcore matches, title changes, surprise debuts, and everything in between. And tonight looks like it's going to continue in that direction as well.

MT: Fans, I hope you already saw the preview for tonight's show, but for those of you who didn't, here's a quick rundown of what you can expect tonight. First off, Alex Wright, who had some problems with Chris Daniels not only last week, but also last NIGHT at the PPV, gets a chance for revenge, when he goes one on one against Daniels in the ring. Also, the Tag Team Titles are up for grabs, as NEW Champions Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr. take on Eddie Guerrero and his nephew, Chavo Guerrero, Jr. As you all know, last night Eddie successfully defended his Cruiserweight Title against Dean Malenko. And tonight, he has a chance to add even more gold to his waist.

DM: And don't forget Tenay, that Scott Steiner makes his return from a highly successful Japan trip to face new Television Champion Booker T for that title. And in the main event, Eric Bischoff has decided to reward his "personal enforcer" Vader with a shot at the US Title, currently held by Bret Hart.

MT: Fans, before we go any further, I do want to make an announcement. Anyone who saw the PPV last night saw that Scott Hall and Kevin Nash were both defeated in their respective matches. Well, as a result of the sheer brutality of those matches, both men were injured, with Hall injuring his back, and Kevin Nash with his neck. Now, as much as these two men have put WCW thru in their careers, some would be almost tempted to say they got what they deserve. But in light of the fact that they are two of the great competitors in WCW, I would have to say that hopefully they would be able to return to competition as soon as possible.

DM: You're magnanimity is overwhelming, Tenay. I'm sure more than a few of the competitors from last night came away banged up and bruised. It's just unfortunate for Nash and Hall that they sustained more SERIOUS injuries.

MT: And we promise to keep you updated on their status. With that said, it's time to get things underway here tonight, with our first match-up of the evening.

**Chris Daniels vs. Alex Wright**

The two make their way to the ring to differing reactions, as Wright seems determined to infuriate the crowd as much as possible. Daniels slaps hands with the folks at ringside, enjoying a more positive response from the audience. The match gets underway with a series of basic counters, ending in Wright catching Daniels with a European uppercut that rocks his backwards. Wrights takes advantage of the stunned Daniels, going after him with a series of European uppercuts and stomps, keeping him down on the mat. A whip into the ropes allows him to catch Daniels with a big backdrop, which he follows up by locking in a rear chinlock. Daniels starts to fight back out of the hold with a series of back elbows, and is finally able to break it by walking up the ropes and flipping over Wright, before getting him in a roll-up for a quick two count. Daniels presses his brief advantage by whipping Wright into the ropes and catching him with a spinning heel kick, which again gives him a 2 count. Daniels attempts to go up top for a big move, but is caught by Wright, who goes up with him. Wright tries for a superplex, only to have the move blocked by Daniels, who manages to push him down onto the canvas. As Wright struggle to his feet, Daniels comes off with high cross-body, again managing only a two count. Obviously frustrated, Daniels tries to finish him with a Double Underhook Powerbomb, only to have Wright catch him with a low blow when the ref is not looking. With both men now down on the canvas, the referee begins a 10 count, with the crowd counting along. The count reaches 8 before the two men are able to reach their feet. As the do, Wright takes a swing at Daniels, only for the move to be ducked, with Daniels following up with a dropkick to the stomach, doubling over Wright. With him stunned, Daniels is able to catch him with a Double Underhook Powerbomb, pinning Wright for the 3 count and the victory.

*Daniels celebrates with fans, as Wright crawls out of the ring and stumbles up the aisle. Before leaving Daniels asks for, and is given, a microphone…*

(74/67/81; **3/4)

**He's such a nice young man…**

*Daniels raises the mic, and begins to speak*

Chris Daniels: I wanted to take this opportunity to say a few things about my career so far here in WCW. I know that you fans are used to seeing guys get out here and talk about how bad they are, and how tough they are, and how they're gonna kick this guys butt or that guys butt. And I just wanted to say, that while I may not come out here and run my mouth as much as some of these guys, I'm just as determined to be the absolute best in this business. But you see, I'm out here to prove a point. And that point is this: Nice guys CAN finish first. See, I don't have to come out and pull the tights, or poke my opponent in the eyes, or use a chair, or any of that. I come out here each and every week to show that in the end, the best ATHELETE will always come out on top. Just like this week. Just like the previous weeks. And just like then, I will continue to show every one of these wrestlers in the back that when you step in the ring with Chris Daniels, you're going to get beat, clean, in the middle of the ring. And there's nothing you can do to stop it.

*Daniels hands the mic back to the ring announcer, before leaving to a large amount of cheers from the crowd, who seem to appreciate his attitude*

(74%)

MT: A great way to open up the evening there Dave. And I have to say, he has a refreshing attitude compared to some of his contemporaries.

DM: You may say it's a great attitude Tenay, and I can't argue with his success so far. But I still say, in this business, you have to have a cut-throat way of doing things. Daniels may be too clean-cut for his own good.

MT: I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree then Dave. Personally, I'm glad to see that not EVERY superstar in WCW has lost touch with the real reason they're out here, and that's to rise to the top, NOT to humiliate opponents and destroy careers. Be that as it may, coming up next…

**Maybe it IS a conspiracy…**

*Before Tenay can finish, he is interrupted as some familiar music fills the arena. Former Television Champion Chris Jericho comes walking out with a scowl on his face, ignoring the crowds boos. He climbs in the ring, and pulls a mic form his tights, before raising it to speak*

Chris Jericho: You know, I've finally realized something last night. And what I realized made me sick. You see, I realized that life in general, and specifically WCW, ISN'T FAIR! Last night, when I beat the HELL out of Booker T in that I Quit match, the FAIR thing would have been for my hand to be raised. But instead, I got SCREWED out of a victory, and I got SCREWD out of MY TITLE. I know some of you idiots watching might think that Chris Jericho gave up last night. But if you go back and watch the clip I'm about to show you, you'll see and hear that that's NOT the case. Roll the footage.

*As Jericho gestures to the big screen, a video appears of the end of the previous nights match. As the "spike" from Booker T digs into Jericho's face, we hear an obviously false voice-over of Jericho saying ”NO I DON'T QUIT!" several times. The video fades as we are back to live action*

CJ: You see? Not only did I NOT say I quit, but I made it very clear that I did NOT quit. But of course, the referee didn't hear that. No, he only heard what he WANTED to hear. See, I know that the "brass" in WCW doesn't like Chris Jericho as Television Champion, because they're afraid that my talent and good looks will overwhelm everyone else in this pathetic federation. Well tonight, I DEMAND a chance to show every one of you idiots out here that I should STILL be the Television Champion. So tonight, I DEMAND a re-match for MY Television Title. Eric Bischoff, I want you to make the match, and make it NOW.

*Jericho stands back and waits for Bischoff to come out. He doesn't have to wait long, as Eric Bischoff's music hits and he walks out onto the stage, holding his OWN mic*

Eric Bischoff: Chris, Chris, hold on just a minute. Now, I understand where you're coming from. I mean, your match last night with Booker T was one of the most brutal, bloodiest matches I've ever witnessed, and I can see how you would want to get your hands on Booker again. But Chris, I don't know if you read the preview for tonight, but Booker T already has a match defending his Television Title, against Scott Steiner. So I'm afraid it's a no-go on that. And I even had the thought of giving you a match for the US Title here tonight, only, well, Vader WON his match last night, and, well, you DIDN'T. But I tell you what I'll do. I WILL give you a chance to regain the Television Title. Next week, here on Nitro, you can have a shot at the Champion, whether that be Booker T, OR Scott Steiner. But since I know you're anxious to prove your "stuff" tonight, I've got a match for you. Tonight, in that ring, it will be Chris Jericho against Chris Benoit.

*The fans cheer this announcement as Jericho looks less than pleased*

EB: Oh, and just to make things even more interesting, if you manage to defeat Benoit tonight, then I'll let you pick the stipulation for your Title match. Lose, and you'll face Booker T in a straight forward one on one match, with any interference resulting in a suspension for the offending party. So Chris, good luck tonight. Cause after what happened to him last night, I think that Benoit is gonna be looking for someone to hurt.

*Bischoff slowly walks off stage, as Jericho fumes in the ring*

(83%)

DM: Eric Bischoff certainly knows how to make a splash, doesn't he Tenay?

MT: He certainly does, Dave. What a match-up for later this evening. Jericho and Benoit are two of the premier wrestlers in the sport today, and the two of them in the ring together promises to be something special.

DM: Not to mention what's on the line for Jericho. If he wins, he chooses the stipulation for his match against the Television Champion next week.

MT: I'm sure BOTH men will be on top of their games tonight, Dave. And speaking of being on top of their game…

DM: Another great segue way Tenay…

MT: Coming up next, we have two men who were certainly on top of their game last night, as NEW Tag Team Champions Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr. defend their Tag Titles against the team of Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero, Jr.

DM: You know Tenay, I've been looking forward to this match ever since it was announced. All four men are fantastic inside the ring, and you have to think that the action will be fast and furious. Besides, I think that Eddie wants to add some Tag gold to his Cruiserweight Title.

MT: Well Eddie Guerrero certainly should know both of his opponents tonight intimately, as he's had problems with both Mysterio, and more recently Kidman. It should be interesting to see if 4 men who know each other very well can manage to surprise their opponents and come up with a victory.

DM: Tenay, that's enough talking about it. Let's get to ring and SEE what happens…

**Kidman/Rey Mysterio, Jr.© vs. Eddie Guerrero/Chavo Guerrero, Jr.**

The challengers enter the ring first to a chorus of boos, with Eddie playing up to the crowds reaction by showing off his Cruiserweight Title belt. Kidman and Rey enjoy a much more positive reaction form the crowd, thought they don't have much time to enjoy it, as they are jumped by the Guerrero's as soon as they enter the ring. Eddie and Chavo pound away on the Tag champs, keeping them grounded early in the match. The ref is finally able to get Chavo out of the ring, leaving Eddie and Rey the two legal men. Eddie continues to work over Rey with a variety of fast paced moves, including a vicious tilt-a-whirl backbreaker that gets him a 2 count. He tags Chavo in, and the two do some fast double team stomping before Chavo takes over on offense. He keeps the pressure on, applying several holds designed to wear down Mysterio, focusing especially on the legs. A series of quick tags between Eddie and Chavo keep Rey in their corner, obviously trying to prevent any chance of a tag to his partner. Eddie even manages to lock in a modified figure four leglock, similar to a Nagata lock, almost forcing Rey to submit. He is finally able to make the ropes however, and Eddie must break the hold. More fast tags take their toll on Rey, as Chavo and Eddie double team every chance they get, managing to hit Rey with a double dropkick along with a huge double flapjack move. Rey keeps kicking out however, which seems to frustrate both Guerrero's, especially Eddie. Finally, Rey is able to turn the tide when he ducks an attempted clothesline from the second rope, sending Eddie crashing to the mat. With Eddie momentarily stunned, Rey is able to crawl over and make the hot tag to Kidman, who comes in on fire, dropping Chavo when he attempts to enter with a huge dropkick, before doing the same to Eddie. Kidman goes back and forth between the two, nailing punch after punch, before Rey is able to recover enough to charge and take Chavo out of the ring. Eddie and Kidman go through a series of complex moves and counter moves, with Kidman coming out on top when he reverse an attempted powerbomb, as YCPK. With Eddie down, and Chavo outside the ring, Kidman is able to go to the top, obviously to attempt the Shooting Star Press. Before he is able to hit the move however, two figures emerge from the crowd and attack, pushing him off the top rope. They are revealed to be DDP and Kanyon, who continue attacking Kidman, while Chavo, who has managed to gain control on the outside, rolls Rey back into the ring. Eddie and Chavo join The Triad in the 4 on 2 assault as the referee calls for the bell, disqualifying the Guerrero's.

*The beating continues for several minutes, before finally it is broken up by none other than Dean Malenko, who comes running down the aisle. He distracts Eddie and Chavo's attention long enough for Rey and Kidman to fight back against The Triad, eventually sending them back outside the ring and up the aisle.*

(85/78/93; ***1/2; Tag Titles gained image)

MT: What was The Triad thinking out there? They came down and ruined what had turned into an excellent match for the Tag Team Titles.

DM: I'd say that DDP and Kanyon were just trying to ensure that NOBODY has a chance at the Tag Titles except for them. I talked with DDP last night after the PPV, and according to him, Kidman and Mysterio got lucky last night. He said that if The Triad gets another chance, they're going to finish Rey and Kidman for GOOD.

MT: Seeing some of the things they've done to them in the past, I wouldn't doubt it, Dave.

DM: Wait a second, Tenay. I just got word in my headset that DDP and Kanyon are in the back and they're DEMANDING a camera. Let's go see what they want…

**The Triad wants a 6-man**

*We cut to the back, where DDP and Kanyon stand looking highly agitated. DDP grabs the mic from Scott Hudson as Kanyon pushes him off camera. DDP begins to speak*

DDP: Yo, Kidman, Mysterio, listen up, boys. I just want you two punks to know, last night, that was a fluke. You got lucky. And tonight? Well, you got lucky again, cause me an Kanyon were gonna take you two OUT, until Malenko showed up. Well, me, and Kanyon were talking to Eddie and Chavo back here, and we got an idea. How about, a 6-man match, between The Triad and Chavo, and you two and your little pal Malenko. Since he wants to stick his nose into our business, we'll include him in the beating we're gonna give you too. Oh, and just so we're clear, Malenko, you don't get to put your hands on Eddie. See, since he's a champion, and you're just a wannabe, he's decided that you gotta prove yourself before you get another shot at his title. So boys, this Thursday, on Thunder, how bout we hook up? And I hope you bring an extra body bag for your friend, cause you're ALL gonna FEEL…THE…BANG!

Kanyon: Yeah. Cause after all, WHO'S BETTER THAN KANYON?

*The crowd responds with a loud EVERYBODY, which Kanyon seems not to notice. DDP and Kanyon throw down the mics, and walk out of the shot*

(73%)

MT: What a challenge laid out by DDP to the Tag Champs and Dean Malenko. And you have to know that it will be accepted, which gives us a guarantee of a great Thunder already.

DM: You know Tenay, something about this doesn't feel right to me. If I was Kidman and Rey Mysterio, or even Dean Malenko, I would think long and hard about accepting this challenge. The Triad and the Guerrero's aren't going to stop at anything to try to not only beat, but also INJURE them come Thunder.

MT: You may be right Dave, but I still don't think Kidman and Mysterio will back down from this challenge. I guess we'll find out for sure on Thunder though. Now fans, coming up next, we have a man who has built up some serious momentum here in WCW, and capped it off with a victory, albeit a cheap victory, last night at Uncensored, in Kurt Angle.

DM: What do you mean cheap, Tenay? Kurt Angle put on a classic performance in that match against Chris Benoit, and in the end, he came out on top. Not bad for a rookie, in my opinion.

MT: Be that as it may, apparently Angle wasn't satisfied with simply beating Chris Benoit last night. He's requested interview time to come and here and, I quote" Tell all of these ignorant WCW fans exactly what they need to know about me". A rather arrogant statement from Angle, don't you think, Dave?

DM: It may be arrogant Tenay, but if he can back it up, then who's going to make him stop?

MT: Fans, let's got to the ring for that interview at this time.

**He's just better than you**

*Angle's music hits, and he makes his way slowly down the aisle, brushing off the few fans who try to reach out and give him a pat on the back. He rolls into the ring and calls for a mic, standing there with a scowl on his face until it is given to him*

Kurt Angle: Alright, listen up, cause I've got something to say. And I'll try to use little words, so you ignorant WCW idiot fans can understand me.

*The fans give a huge chorus of boos for this statement*

KA: Boo all you want, that doesn't make it less true. Let me tell what I'm doing out here tonight. Last night should have been the greatest night of my professional wrestling career to this point. Last night SHOULD have been the night that I FINALLY shut all you people up about who truly is the best WRESTLER in the world today. But all day today, what did I hear? Oh Kurt, you got lucky and beat Benoit, he was with you all the way. Oh Kurt, you looked like you were gonna lose, you have to cheat to win. Well that's BULL. Kurt Angle does NOT have to cheat to beat a loser like Chris Benoit. And Kurt Angle CERTAINLY was never CLOSE to losing the match with Chris Benoit last night. As a matter of fact, if Benoit ever looked like he might have a chance, rest assured that it was only because I felt sorry for him, and eased up some to try to make him look good. Cause that's just the kind of guy I am. I know that I'm superior to all of you, and I know that no one in the back can TOUCH me when it comes to pure wrestling. See, even Benoit, the supposed "best technical wrestler in WCW" had to resort to throwing chops to try to take me down. But it didn't work, did it Benoit? No, you see, it takes a lot more than that to put Kurt Angle down. Then again, I guess I shouldn't expect anything else form you OR from these fans, seeing as how they've gotten used to watching CRAP each and every night. Well that's all changing now. Because, with my victory last night, I proved that the better pure WRESTLER is always going to come out on top. But I'll give you this Benoit. You were a scrappy little fella. So I'm gonna do you a favor. I know that your match with Chris Jericho, a close personal friend of mine, is coming up next. So what I'm gonna do, is grab a folding chair, sit right here at ringside, watch your match, and take notes on how you can improve yourself. I mean, sure, you'll never be as good as me, but maybe, just maybe, you can become passable. Heck, I might even let you be my protégé if you work hard enough. So Benoit, come on down, let's get this thing started. Don't be nervous, I'll try not to judge you too harshly. I mean, how good can you be? You WERE trained in a Dungeon or something, right?

*With that said, Angle rolls outside the ring, grabbing a metal folding chair, and setting it up by ringside. He sits down in it, and feigns great interest in the upcoming match*

(94%; Kurt Angle gained overness)

MT: All I can say in response to that, is that Chris Benoit better keep one eye on his opponent, Chris Jericho, and one on that man right there.

DM: Actually Tenay, Angle being out here may be too much for Benoit to handle. You know that Jericho wants to be allowed to choose the stipulation next week, so HE'S going to be focused in this match. And with the extra distraction, Benoit might not be as focused as he needs to be.

MT: I guess there's only one way to find out, and that's by going to the ring, right now!

**Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho**

Benoit enters the arena first, coming out to a nice reaction from the crowd. He stares at Angle intently, before stepping into the ring, still never taking his eyes off of Angle. Jericho enters quickly, almost running to the ring, apparently anxious to get the match underway. The two men begin going at it back and forth, pounding away on each other as the crowd goes crazy, already into the match. Jericho finally gets the advantage after a thumb to the eyes, temporarily blinding Benoit. Jericho begins to chop Benoit's chest, causing it to redden quickly. Alternating between chops and forearm shots, Jericho manages to take Benoit down to the ground, where he continues to pound away, before going for an early pin. A quick 2 count results, as Jericho continues on the assault. Benoit is able to reverse a whip to the ropes and hits Jericho with a stiff clothesline to take control back. He picks Jericho up and begins with his OWN chopping, blistering Jericho quickly. Jericho attempts a punch, but has it ducked by Benoit, who takes him down with a big backdrop suplex. With Jericho down, Benoit begins to work on the neck and left shoulder of Jericho, obviously setting him up for the Crippler Crossface. Jericho tries to fight back to his feet, only to be taken back down a gain by Benoit. Benoit locks in a crossface chickenwing, pulling back on it to try to make Jericho submit. However, Jericho manages to get a foot in the ropes, causing Benoit to break the hold. When he moves back in Jericho grabs the tights and pulls Benoit into the ropes, catching him in the throat with the middle rope. Jericho takes his time, but is able to get to his feet and begin his offensive attack again. Jericho goes back to work on Benoit with a series of big moves, including a dropkick from the second rope that snaps Benoit's head back. Jericho attempts a cover after each move, but can't seem to keep Benoit down. Jericho begins to get frustrated with his lack of pinfall success, and takes Benoit down with a bodyslam, before going up top for a big splash. Unfortunately for Jericho, Benoit is able to move out of the way, sending Jericho crashing hard to the mat. As Angle continues to watch, Benoit and Jericho struggle to their feet at the same time, going back to slugging away at each other. This time, it's Benoit who gets the advantage, knocking Jericho outside the ring with a big right hand. Benoit goes between the middle ropes to reach for Jericho, but the referee pulls him back, preventing him from leaving the ring. Jericho sees this, and tries to take advantage. He pushes Angle off of his chair, and grabs the chair himself. He turns and swings right at Benoit's head, trying to take him out. Benoit however, moves jut in time, causing the chair to bounce off of the ropes and nail Jericho in the head, which knocks him down and out. Benoit rolls outside the ring and grabs Jericho, throwing him back in. Once inside, Benoit goes up top, and comes off with a Flying Headbutt, which enables him to pin Jericho for the 1-2-3.

*Benoit starts to celebrate his hard fought victory, only to have it broken up by Kurt Angle, who jumps in the ring and grabs Benoit form behind, sending him over his head with a big Release German Suplex, a new move for him. He rolls outside the ring, grabs the chair, and rolls back in, setting it up OPEN on the mat. He then grabs Benoit again, and delivers an Olympic Slam right on the OPEN CHAIR! Satisfied with his work, Angle leaves the ring and walks back up the aisle, brushing off his outfit as he goes*

(91/84/98; ****1/4)

MT: An absolutely fantastic match, followed up by a heinous attack there, fans. Benoit and Jericho just had one of the best matches you're going to ever see on TV, only to have Kurt Angle interfere afterwards and take all of the attention back to himself.

DM: I can't argue with you about the FIRST part of that statement Tenay. Benoit and Jericho just had a PPV main event quality match there,*As he says this the crowd begins to applaud as Benoit gets back to his feet* and you can tell that the crowd appreciates the efforts of BOTH men. But I'm not sure what happened at the end with Chris Jericho. I mean, Jericho has shown that he'll do anything to win, but grabbing Angle's chair at that point ended up costing him the match.

MT: Not only that Dave, but it also cost Chris Jericho the chance to choose the stipulation for his shot at the Television Title net week. As it stands now, It'll be Booker T and Jericho, one on one no interference allowed. I also want to say, what a great win for Chris Benoit, coming off of that rather dubious loss against Kurt Angle last night. Of course, it doesn't appear to be over between Angle and Benoit, does it Dave?

DM: Absolutely not, Tenay. Angle absolutely FLATTENED that chair when he brought Benoit down on it, and if I know Chris Benoit, he's gonna take that flat chair home and use it to motivate him the next time he gets in the ring with Kurt Angle. And personally, I can't WAIT until that happens.

MT: Whenever that happens, it should be another classic like we saw last night. Now fans, coming up next, we have a very special interview with a man who last night FINALLY was able to silence some of the critics, and was able to prove once and for all that he is STILL the man, Ric Flair.

**Whooooooo…not for a while?**

*As Tenay finishes speaking, "Also Sprach Zarathustra" begins to play over the arena speakers, bringing the crowd to their feet as "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair comes walking out to the ring. He takes his time as he walks to the ring, while the fans give him a standing ovation. He finally enters the ring, and raises a mic to speak*

Ric Flair: Thank you very much. Thank you. I wanted to come out here tonight, and talk to everybody, and say just what I said, thank you. Thank you for believing in Ric Flair, thank you for supporting Ric Flair, and thank you for being here for Ric Flair. You know, until last night, I was beginning to wonder if what Bret Hart was saying might be true. When I was getting ready last night to go out to the ring, a voice kept going around and around in my head. It said, Ric, maybe Hart's right. Maybe you ARE washed up. Maybe you HAVE had it. And so when I went out to the ring, I went out to prove something, not just to Bret Hart, and not just to the fans. I went out there last night to prove something to RIC FLAIR. And by God, I did it. Last night, in the middle of the ring, Bret Hart submitted, to ME, to Ric Flair. And I looked in Bret Hart's eyes, and I could tell that HE KNEW, that Ric Flair isn't washed up. And when I got to the back, everyone in the locker room was telling me, "Ric, great job, where do you go from here?" "Ric, you just beat Bret Hart, what's next, what do you do now?" And I didn't say I'm going to Disney World. Because you see, even though I beat Bret Hart, I realized something. Bret Hart beat the HELL out of me last night, and I respect him for that. I respect him for what he can do in the ring. And even though I won, what we did to each other last night, is having an effect on me. I talked to my wife last night, and she said, "Ric, when are you coming home? You've been on the road, you've been beaten up, bruised, battered, and bloodied. Ric , I want you to come home." And that made me realize that I've got a family at home that doesn't deserve to see Bret Hart do what he did to me. They don't deserve to have me away from home, getting the crap beat out of me every night. So I've made a decision, and you're probably not gonna like it. But it's my decision, and nothing is gonna change my mind. From this point on, Ric Flair is on an indefinite leave of absence. I'm gonna go home, see my wife, see my kids, and let my body heal. Cause when I come back, believe me, WHOOO, Ric Flair WILL BE BACK. When I come back, I'll be looking for one thing. That World Title. But for now, it's time to go home.

*Flair lets the mic drop as the fans sit stunned by his announcement, not knowing how to react. Flair makes his way up the aisle, wiping away a few tears from his eyes as he goes*

(100%)

DM: A shocking announcement from Ric Flair, Tenay. I knew he had SOMETHING important to say tonight, but I had no idea it would be THAT.

MT: Dave, I can't say it surprises me to hear Ric Flair say that. Bret Hart inflicted a lot of punishment on Ric Flair last night, despite his loss. And with all that Ric Flair has been thru over the past few months, first with Eric Bischoff, and then with Bret Hart, it may be time for Ric Flair to go home and regroup. And you heard what he said, when he comes back, he's coming back for the World Title. Fans, he's won a number of them already, and I wouldn't bet against him doing it again. But next fans…

DM: Sorry to interrupt Tenay, but I think it's MY turn to introduce the match. Fans, next we have a match for the Television Title, with Booker T defending it for the first time since he defeated Jericho for it last night. Now, the man he's defending against isn't just some "Joe Nobody" off the street. Scott Steiner is one of the most well known, as well as most TALENTED wrestles in the world today. He is a former multiple time Tag Team Champion, as well as the man that Booker T defeated back in January for this same Television Title. And to top it off, he's coming off of a tour of Japan in which he went UNDEFEATED. Add that to the fact that Booker T has one of the most brutal matches I've ever seen last night, and I'd say Booker T has his hands full here tonight. Not to mention that Chris Jericho, even as hurt as he might be after that match earlier, is still in the building. So this one should be a real "barn burner" as the locals say.

**Booker T© vs. Scott Steiner; Television Title match**

Steiner comes down to the ring accompanied by a large negative reaction from the fans, who don't seem very pleased to have him back in the States. Booker T's entrance, on the other hand, has the entire arena on their feet "raising the roof". Once inside the ring, Booker and Steiner go nose to nose as the ref takes the belt and hands it to the ring announcer. Booker and Steiner start to shove, before Steiner turns as if he's going to walk away. It proves to me a fake however, as he spins back around and attempts a punch. Booker anticipates this move, though, and blocks Steiner punch before coming back with a series of his own. Booker presses his advantage, backing Steiner into a corner, where he continues on the attack, delivering alternating chops and forearms to the back. He whips Steiner into the opposite rope and comes off with a Harlem Sidekick, which gets him an early 2 count. He continues the offense as he works over Steiner with several power moves, including a paid of clothesline followed by a big flying forearm. The offensive blitz by Booker T goes on, as he slams Steiner down before delivering a jumping legdrop (!) to Steiner, which again results in a two count. The fans seem to be behind Booker T as he begins to work over Steiner on the ground, wearing him down with a chinlock into a wheelbarrow. Steiner is finally able to get some offense in after Booker breaks the hold, as he delivers a shot to the stomach of Booker, followed up with an overhead Belly-To-Belly Suplex, giving him time to recover his breath. He starts to work on Steiner for a few minutes, giving him a few more suplex variations. He goes to attempt another overhead Belly-To-Belly, only to have Booker T block with a knee to the stomach, which doubles Steiner over. Seeing this, Booker bounces off the ropes and delivers a big Axe Kick to the back of the head, knocking Steiner down. Sensing the win, Booker goes up top, waiting for Steiner to rise. When he does, Booker goes off of the top rope with a Missile Dropkick, covering after he lands to pick up the 3 count, and the victory.

*Booker takes his belt from the ref and begins to walk back up the aisle, only to be halted as Chris Jericho comes out onto the entrance way. The two men stare at each other intently, and begin to walk towards one another, only to be help apart by a bevy of officials who come running out to keep them separate*

(81/84/77; ***1/4)

MT:Dave, excluding what happened after the match, that was all Booker T. I haven't seen Scott Steiner dominated like that in, well, EVER.

DM: I don't know what happened with Scott Steiner, but that wasn't the same man that WCW fans are used to seeing. Still, a great job by Booker T of taking advantage of WHATEVER was going on with Steiner. And really, Booker needed this match tonight. After the sheer brutality of last nights match, Booker needs to be at his best to hold onto the title next week.

MT: That's definitely a match to look forward to next week fans, as there is still a lot of bad blood between Jericho and Booker T. And now fans, we have another special feature. As you saw last night, Goldberg successfully defended his World Title in an intense steel cage match against Kevin Nash. So intense that, as we noted earlier, Kevin Nash was not able to be here tonight. But one man who IS here is the World Champion, Goldberg. And coming up right now fans, let's take you backstage for a special interview with the Champ.

**WHO'S Next?**

*We cut to the back , where Goldberg is standing with Scott Hudson*

Scott Hudson: Goldberg, if I may, can I get your thoughts on your match last night?

Goldberg: My thoughts? You wanna know what I think about last night? Well let me say this…

*Goldberg does not get to say any more however, as he is blindsided from the side by…RAVEN AND SABU? The crowd is stunned as the two men absolutely DESTROY Goldberg, pounding away on him with stomps and punches, using nearby chairs and boxes, even grabbing a table and setting it up against the wall. Sabu and Raven whip Goldberg into, and THROUGH the table, sending him crashing into the wall. Sabu picks Goldberg up and turns him to face Raven. Raven says something to Goldberg that the camera cannot pick up and shows him the "Crucifix" pose, before kicking Goldberg in the stomach and delivering an Evenflow DDT right onto the concrete! Raven turns and stares at the camera…*

Raven: Last night was the beginning. Tonight was the continuation. Soon, all of WCW will feel my pain.

*Raven stares at the camera for a moment, holding the "Crucifix" pose as Sabu kneels in the background, pointing up at the sky. They break the pose and slowly walk off, leaving Goldberg laying in a bloody heap on the floor*

MT: What in the WORLD happened there? Raven and the newcomer Sabu came from NOWHERE, and totally destroyed the World Champion.

DM: I'll tell you what happened, Tenay. Raven just let Goldberg "feel his pain" so to speak. But you're right, they came from nowhere and just decimated Goldberg. He didn't even know what hit him. I wouldn't be surprised if Goldberg has a concussion, or WORSE.

MT: Well you saw that he was busted open, probably by that Evenflow on the concrete. I just have to wonder why Raven and Sabu chose Goldberg to attack tonight?

DM: Well obviously Tenay, Raven feels that last night, he took care of Hak, and it looks like he's setting his sights high for his next victim.

MT: Raven may have bitten off more than he can chew this time, though Dave. Goldberg is not just any wrestler, he's a man who proved last night he can work and WIN in an extreme environment, and I wouldn't want to be the man who made him mad.

DM: But with Sabu backing him, Raven seems to be even more fearless than normal.

MT: Fans, we'll keep an eye on this situation and let you know if we hear anything about Goldberg's condition. And now fans, it's time for our main event of the evening. Last night, Vader defeated Scott Hall in a great Falls Count Anywhere match. As a "reward" of sorts, Eric Bischoff has ordered that Bret Hart must defend his U.S. title here tonight, against Vader. Dave, this match will be a contrast in styles.

DM: You said it Tenay. Vader is a big, strong man. He's not very subtle with his wrestling, instead relying more on his brawling skills, which are considerable. The contrast comes because Bret Hart is one of the best technical wrestlers the world has ever seen. But he also can get in there and mix things up with his fists.

MT: Vader's advantage is that Bret Hart is coming off of that loss to Ric Flair last night, so the momentum may be in Vader's favor. Nonetheless, this should be a great match between two living legends in wrestling. Let's head to the ring to see what happens, in our MAIN EVENT.

**Vader vs. Bret Hart©; US Title match**

IT'S TIME, IT'S TIME, IT'S VADER TIME! blasts over the speakers as the big man makes his way out to a good response. He gets in the ring and begins to gesture to the entranceway, calling for Bret Hart to come out. His wish soon comes true, as a chorus of boos greets "The Hitman" on his entry. He scowls at the people as he rolls into the ring, handing the belt to the ref, seeming to polish it as he does so. When Vader comes over to see what's going on, Hart turns and nails him with a big right hand to get the match underway. Hart goes for the quick win, using punches to knock Vader down to one knee before delivering a running knee to the head to take him down. He only manages a one count though, before Vader powers out. Bret grabs a headlock, grinding into Vader. It's soon broken up when Vader throws him into the ropes and takes him down with a big Avalanche. He follows this up with a splash, almost getting the 3 count before Hart shoots one shoulder up. Vader picks Bret back up, and begins punching at him like a punching bag, snapping Hart's neck and head back several times. Hart falls back into the corner, which proves to be a mistake, as Vader follows him in and continues the beating, adding shots to the body. Bret can do nothing but attempt to cover up, but is soon forced down onto the mat. Vader back up and charges into the corner, attempting to crush Bret's head into the middle turnbuckle. Hart manages to roll out of the way however, and Vader hits the corner hard. Seeing this chance, Hart nails Vader right in the knee repeatedly, bringing him back down onto the mat. With Vader down, Hart quickly goes to work on the leg, dropping a series of elbows and legs in an attempt to prepare Vader for the Sharpshooter. He drapes Vader's leg over the bottom rope, before bouncing up on the middle rope and coming down hard on the knee. He repeats this process several times, and looks to have Vader hurt. Hart then switches focus, going to work with impact moves on the mat, hitting Vader with a legdrop, followed up by a second rope Driving Elbowdrop. An attempted cover again gets a 2, as Bret works the leg over a little more, switching back and forth between the leg and impact moves. Finally, he seems to be ready to go for the submission, and tries to lock Vader into the Sharpshooter. Vader is still too strong though, and is able to fight out of the hold before Bret can turn it over. Bret tries again, only to have the same result. A third attempt is blocked by a shot to the face as he bends over, which stuns him long enough for Vader to get back to his feet. Vader begins to take over the match, using his brawling skills to keep Hart off balance, and allow his leg to recover from the beating it has absorbed. He even manages to pick Hart up and take him down with a big powerslam, although the effort required causes his knee to buckle. He struggles to get to his feet again, where he is met by the equally recovered Hart. The two men begin going at it with punches, with Vader seeming to get the advantage. Hart falls back into the corner, with Vader charging in after him. When he gets to the corner however, Hart hits him with a punch, which knocks him back and down to the canvas? Hart quickly covers and the referee has no choice but to count the three, giving Hart the victory.

*As Bret Hart quickly exits the ring, grabbing his belt, a replay on the television screen shows that just before Vader charged into the corner, Bret Hart reached in his tights and was able to pull out a paid of brass knucks, which he used to nail Vader in the head, accounting for the sudden knock out*

(87/87/88; ****; US Title gained image)

MT: A cheap victory for Bret Hart there, but I'm sure he would tell you that it's a victory just the same.

DM: And he would be correct Tenay. Bret Hart wrestled a very smart match, and proved that he DESERVES to be the US Champion.

MT: But Vader looked to be the NEW Champion until that charge into the corner. Still, a great match to end out post-Uncensored Nitro. But Dave, there's still a lot of unanswered questions that came out of tonight. What will happen next week when Jericho and Booker T face off? Will Vader get another chance at the US Title? And maybe most importantly, what does Raven and Sabu have in store for our World Champion Goldberg? Fans, we hope to find out the answers to at least SOME of these questions next week on Nitro. And don't forget, this Thursday, Thunder, with that big 6-man match between The Triad with Chavo Guerrero, Jr. against Tag Team Champions Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr. with Dean Malenko. Fans, for Dave Meltzer, I'm Mike Tenay. Good night everybody!

*Before we leave, we take one last look at the ring, where Vader is still arguing with the referee about the end of his match*

Tuesday, March 30th:

*A note. That's what I'm looking at. A note. Not my assistant Sophie, but a note, written on a piece of paper. And why am I not looking at Sophie? The note explains it all...*

Sophies note:

Hi, sorry not to be in, but I got in REALLY late last night, and I HAVE to get some sleep. I hope it's ok. I still have some vacation, so unless it's a HUGE problem, I won't be back until tomorrow. I did manage to swing by this morning early(right after my date) and get the basic info from Nitro. We'll talk about the monthly "issues" when I get back. As far as ratings go, the show got an 84% approval rating, which is pretty good, especially considering we were coming off such a big PPV. I was afraid that the guys might be tempted to relax a little bit, but they all worked hard. Fans LOVED Flair's speech, even though I think most of them aren't happy that he'll be gone for a while. And of course, Jericho and Benoit stole the show wrestling wise. One thing I was surprised at is how well the fans reacted to Raven and Sabu attacking Goldberg. I think some folks are interested in seeing where that goes. Anyway, TV ratings were good, 7.29, still pretty close to WWE. Mr. Turner should be VERY happy with that. By the way, I saw the booking sheet for Thunder, and things look good. The 6-man should be a good match, and the rest of the card looks solid too. We can go over it in more detail if you want tomorrow. Listen, I REALLY hope that you don't mind that I took off. Call my cell phone if you need me to come in. Otherwise, I'll see you tomorrow. Bye!

Good show! I've read all of your shows so far and I absolutely love readin this diary. I can't wait until WCW Thunder comes on. Oh yeah, I have a name for Chris Daniel's finishing manuever that you may like. How about you call it the "Angel's Wings" or the "Angel Drop"? Just some ideas that I threw in for a finishing move for Chris Daniels. Also, I hope that you're able to debut 3 Count soon! :D

Thursday, April 1st:

Thunder!

*As the show opens, a graphic displays the words: "There's no April fools HERE…"" This is followed by a new video showing some of the top WCW superstars performing some of their best, most explosive moves. As this plays, new music for Thunder kicks in, bringing the crowd of 9,027 people to their feet. This all leads in to a huge explosion of pyro, welcoming everyone to another great edition of WCW Thunder.*

**Eddie Guerrero© vs. Juventud Guerrera; Cruiserweight Title match**

We immediately cut to the ring for our first match, which was ordered by Eric Bischoff after Eddie Guerrero's actions on Nitro. With both men in the ring, the action begins, going back and forth between the two in an extremely fast paced contest. This continue for most of the match, with Eddie finally getting the win after Juvi misses a big 450 Splash, enabling Eddie to go up top and nail his OWN big move, in the Frog Splash. The impact knocks Juvi out, letting Eddie pick up the win.

*Juvi goes to shake Eddie's hand, but gets it slapped away by the Champion, who motions for him to leave the ring, before gesturing for a mic. Once he is given one, he goes to speak…*

(83/84/84; ***1/4; Cruiserweight Title gained image)

**Listen, Essa…**

*Eddie stands and waits for the fans to finish their chant of "Eddie sucks" before he finally is ready to begin…*

Eddie Guerrero: Listen up essa. Dean Malenko, I am SICK and TIRED of you sticking your nose in MY business. On Nitro, man, you got involved with MY family, and MY Title match, and that really, REALLY ticked me off essa. So tonight essa, I told my nephew Chavo to beat the crap out of you so that you don't EVER interfere with my business again. But Chaco, I want you to listen too. Leave a little bit of that punk for me man. Cause Malenko, essa, I want to get my hands on you one more time. And when I do, it's not gonna be pretty essa. It's gonna be real, real ugly. And I'm gonna do it the Guerrero way. Grandma's gonna be proud.

*After that…interesting…speech, Eddie rolls back out of the ring and walks up the aisle, taunting the fans with his belt as he goes*

(89%)

After Eddie has made his way backstage, we join our announcers at ringside, Mike Tenay, and "Clubberin, Clubberin, they be Clubberin Tony" Dusty Rhodes. They discuss the first match, and some of Eddie Guerrero's comments to Dean Malenko, before reminding everyone that Dean will team up with the Tag Team Champions to take on Chavo Guerrero, Jr. and The Triad in the big 6-man tag team main event. They then shift their focus to the next segment, which will be an interview with Chris Jericho. Tenay reminds everyone of the history between Jericho and Booker T, which will have another chapter written this Monday as Jericho goes after the Television Title again. Tenay then throws us to backstage, where Chris Jericho is standing with a mic.

**The "Lionheart" is NOT pleased…**

*We cut to the back, where Chris Jericho is waiting. HE has a mic in his hand, and begins to speak*

Chris Jericho: Alright, I'm gonna make this short and sweet, so that all the morons in the crowd can understand what I'm saying. Booker T, you have something that belongs to me. You have MY Television Title Belt, the same belt that you STOLE from me at Uncensored. But this Monday on Nitro, Booker, I'm going to take back, what is rightfully mine, when I make you SCREAM IN PAIN and submit to the Liontamer. But that's not all Booker. See, my good friend Buff Bagwell has shot at you tonight. And even though you were too chicken to put that Title on the line against him, it doesn't matter. See, Buff hates you just as much as I do. He's been cheated against you before. And he wants to prove to all of these idiots that you're nothing but an over-hyped, no talented, JOKE of a Champion. And when he gets finished with you, then on Monday, it's my turn. And when we get to Nitro, and I make you submit, I want you to look up above you. And I want you to see that the man who beat you is the same man who beat you before, the same man you TRIED to finish at the PPV. And that man's name…is Chris Jericho. Remember that Booker. Because the fans will be chanting it over, and over, and over. Jeri-cho, Jeri-cho, Jeri-cho…

*As Jericho walks off, looking up at the imaginary "fans", the crowd begins to add a "Sucks" to the end of every Jeri-cho, although Jericho does not seem to notice*

(88%)

Tenay and Rhodes talk about the ego of Jericho, and speculate that it may come back to haunt him this Monday. The remind the fans of the match between Booker and Bagwell tonight, and wonder if Jericho will find a way to become involved in some way. With that, they announce that it's time for the next match of the evening…

**Raven vs. Hardcore Hak**

As the two men make their way to the ring, Tenay goes over the recent problems these two have had, going back to Raven's "re-entrance" in WCW. They also tell the fans at home that this match is a standard wrestling match, and thus is NOT No-DQ. The action begins in a slug fest, as the two show off their brawling skills for the majority of the match, including some out of the ring fighting, before eventually settling down inside the ring. After a series of counter wrestling (!) Raven nails Hak with a low blow when the ref isn't looking, before delivering an Evenflow DDT for the pinfall, and the victory.

*Raven doesn't waste any time after the match is over, quickly leaving the ring and making his way back up the aisle, as Hak struggles to his feet, staring after Raven*

(82/83/83; ***1/4)

Rhodes states that he's worried about what Raven is capable of doing, after what we witnessed just now in the ring, and especially after what Raven and Sabu did to Goldberg on Nitro. Tenay goes over the attack on the World Champion by the two men, and states that later in the show Eric Bischoff will make an announcement concerning that very thing. He then segues into a discussion on the match for the World Title at Uncensored, as a video rolls showing some of the more brutal moments, including Goldberg's backdrop on Kevin Nash into the cage. Tenay informs everyone that as a result of that move, as well as the general beating Nash absorbed, he will be out for several weeks to heal. However, as Dusty breaks in, thanks to modern technology, Kevin Nash is going to join us, Live Via Satellite, right here on Thunder. With that said, the lights dim and the feed begins…

**Nash is in HIS house**

*We cut to a live video feed of Kevin Nash, sitting in casual clothes, in a nicely decorated house. He leans up towards the camera and addresses everyone*

Kevin Nash: SO glad you all could join here in my humble "abode" tonight. See, I would be there with you, but someone banged up my back a little, and it's still a little sore. Let me just say, if you ever get the opportunity to have Goldberg backdrop YOU into a cage, DON'T take it. Which brings me to the reason I wanted to come on Thunder tonight See, a lot of folks have asked me this week, "Big Kev, when're you and Hall coming back? We heard you were hurt, how long are ya gonna be gone?" Well, the answer's not so simple. See, like I said, Goldberg is a big, strong guy. And he beat the living hell out of me in that cage. I'm not gonna lie to ya. Goldberg, I've got a lot of respect for you after what you did to me. Doesn't mean I LIKE ya, but I RESPECT ya. You're the champion, and after the way you beat me, you deserve to me. Which takes me right back to where we started. How long are Kevin Nash and Scott Hall gonna be out? Well, I can't speak for Scott, but it's gonna be a couple of weeks before I'll be able to get medical clearance to come back to WCW. So I'm afraid for right now, that you're gonna have to do without Kevin Nash. But listen close when I tell you this. When I get back, I'm coming back strong. And even though Eric Bischoff might not give me another shot at the World Title, sometimes, you have to take things. And I might just TAKE my shot. And that goes for ANYONE who gets in my way.

*Nash leans up and clicks the camera off, leaving the screen blank*

(88%)

Our fearless announcers discuss how when Nash comes back, it's liable to be bad news for WHOEVER he set's his sights on. After a few minutes of this, Tenay announces that it's time for the next match, featuring Booker T taking on Buff Bagwell.

**Booker T vs. Buff Bagwell**

Both men enter the ring quickly, as Tenay reminds everyone again of why this match is taking place. The match begins with both men trading moves, but Booker soon takes control, nailing big move after big move on Bagwell. Booker looks to be ready to finish Bagwell off, as he stands perched on the top rope. However, Chris Jericho comes sneaking down to ringside, distracting Booker's attention. As Booker goes after Jericho, Bagwell distracts the ref, allowing Jericho to nail Booker with his own Television Title belt. This knocks Booker out, leaving Bagwell able to cover for the three count, with Jericho yelling that Booker "tripped" outside the ring.

*As soon as the match is over Jericho slides in the ring and begins beating on Booker, as Bagwell keeps the referee from pulling him off. Jericho delivers two more shots to Booker's head with the belt, leaving him down and bloody in the middle of the ring. Satisfied, Jericho taps Bagwell on the shoulder and leaves the ring, strutting up the aisle*

(84/85/83; ***1/4)

Rhodes comments that Jericho wants to win the title back so badly that he'll stop at nothing to do it. He also adds that Jericho will have to be at his best, as Bischoff has declared that if anyone interferes on Jericho's behalf, that person AND Chris Jericho will be suspended indefinitely. Proving that even on Thunder he is the king of segueways, Tenay announces that Eric Bischoff is ready to come to the ring for his announcement concerning the Raven-Goldberg situation.

**Bischoff makes a big one**

*As his music hits, Eric Bischoff comes out to the main stage, holding a mic, with a fairly angry look on his face. He directs the crowd to quiet down and listen to what he's about to say*

Eric Bischoff: Alright, I'm out here for one reason, and one reason only. To talk about what happened to the WCW World Champion this past Monday on Nitro. During an scheduled interview segment, YOUR World Champion was attacked by a man who recently rejoined WCW after a fairly lengthy absence, and a man who doesn't even WORK for WCW, in Raven and Sabu. Now, some people might think that I'm just going to come out here and give Raven a shot at Goldberg and let him wipe the mat with Raven. But that's not gonna happen. Now, before you boo, allow me to explain. You see, Raven hasn't yet EAREND a chance to get in the ring with Goldberg. And Sabu, well, like I said, he isn't a member of this company at this time. So what I'm going to do is simple. This Monday, on Nitro, everyone in this building, everyone in the building for Nitro, and everyone watching on TV will see Raven take on my OWN personal enforcer, VADER!

*The crowd explodes for this announcement, but Bischoff signals them to calm down, as there's more*

EB: Wait a minute, wait a minute. I'm not through. Now, as much as everyone might want to see Raven get his butt kicked by Vader, I don't think Raven is dumb enough to accept this match, without some incentive. So first off, the match this Monday will be a "Raven's Rules" match, meaning anything goes. Second, if Raven wins, then I will give his "pal" Sabu a contract with WCW. Third, I will consider the POSSIBILITY of granting Raven a shot at the World Champion. However, there's a catch. You see, if Raven LOSES, then not only does Sabu NOT receive a WCW contract, but Raven HIMSELF will be banned from WCW indefinitely. And for the final stipulation, any interference by Sabu in this match will result in the same ban. It may be anything goes, but Sabu does not need to be a part of "anything". And Raven, I hope you like the match, because whether you do or not, it's happening, THIS MONDAY.

*As the fans cheer the announcement, Bischoff straightens his jacket and walks off the stage, pausing momentarily to acknowledge the cheers of the crowd*

(91%; Eric Bischoff gained overness)

Tenay and Rhodes both talk about what a big announcement that is for Nitro, as now we have TWO huge matches to look forward to, with Booker and Jericho and now Raven versus Vader. Tenay wonders if Raven will be able to find a way to take Vader down, while Rhodes is of the opinion that, although Sabu will not be able to get involved, Raven will have SOMETHING up his sleeve come Nitro. Tenay reminds everyone to tune in to Nitro to catch both of those matches, as well as the other great action. He then announces that it's time for our main event, the 6-man tag team match.

**Rey Mysterio, Jr./Kidman/Dean Malenko vs. DDP/Kanyon/Chavo Guerrero, Jr.**

The announcers discuss again how this match came about as all six make their way to the ring. Once they are all in, the action begins, as the ref has a hard time getting just two men in the ring at the same time. The action goes all over the ring, with quick tags from both teams mixed in with double-teaming and out of the ring altercations. Finally, Malenko is able to get Kanyon taken care of outside the ring on one side, while Kidman takes out DDP from the other with a huge springboard splash over the top rope and onto the floor. This leaves Rey in the ring with Chavo, who is caught after an attempted powerbomb from the tope rope with a big hurricanrana by Rey, who hangs on for the pin and the 1-2-3!

*The action continues even after the bell, as none of the six seem content with the victory. The fans cheer as all of the wrestlers brawl in and around the ringside area*

(80/72/88; ***)

Tenay comments on how these 6 might fight all night, but we're out of time for the broadcast. He reminds us again to watch Nitro, and to also tune in next week for Thunder.

*We close with a look at the participants in the main event still brawling, now heading up the aisle…*

Monday, April 5th: Right after Nitro...

*I don't know what's going on here, but I just got word that Sophie needs to see me, right now. Of course, it's a few hours after the show, so I'm guessing that she wants to talk about something to do with THAT, but I mean, it's...well, I guess it's after midnight now, so...*

Tuesday, April 6th:

*I'm in my office at the arena now, and so is Sophie. She waits for me to sit down, and then starts talking...*

Sophie: Thanks for coming on such short notice. The guys said you were still up,and I wanted to talk about a few things.

Me: Um, sure. Is this about the show?

Sophie: Yeah, mostly. Um, we got the overnight ratings in...

Me: Already? Man, that was quick.

Sophie: I've got sources, what can I say? Anyway, the approval rating was 82%, so we were right on target there.

Me: Good, good. Go on.

Sophie: Well, TV rating was 7.27, so I'm sure the network will be happy with that. And, predictably, everyone LOVED Jericho and Booker T. we had several comments from folks asking when they're gonna hook up again.

Me: Great. What about the rest of the show? Specifically, the angle at the end.

Sophie: Positive responses so far. After the initial shock, I think everyone is intrigued to see where you're gonna go with this one.

Me: I think they'll be happy with where it goes. I'm pretty pleased with how things are going myself.

Sophie: Yeah, so am I. You've done a great job. Really.

Me: Thanks, Sophie. That means a lot. But listen, I do need to ask, what did you need to see me for so urgently tonight? I mean, I'm glad to see you, but was there something else you needed me for?

Sophie: Well, yeah, kind of. I just needed to give you something.

Me: Ok, let's have it.

Sophie: It's in that envelope on the desk. I'm gonna run. I'll be at the hotel.

Me: Um, thanks Sophie.

*She walks quickly out of the door, leaving me alone and confused. I walk over to the desk and pick up the envelope. It has 12-A written on the outside. Strange. But what's inside? Only one way to find out. I pull the envelope open and see...*

It's a key. With a motel logo on the key ring. With Sophies name written on the tag.*

Me: Oh my god...

Thursday, April 8th:

Thunder!

*As the show gets underway, we are shown a video of the events of this past Monday night, specifically focused on the main event. Shots of various matches are shown, but again are dominated by clips form the brawl between Raven and Vader. The final shot of the video shows Raven embracing his former arch-rival Tommy Dreamer as Vader lies bleeding on the ground*

*PYRO~! Explodes overhead as the crowd of 9,039 jumps to their feet, ready for tonight's edition of WCW Thunder. After scanning the crowd for a few moments, we join our hosts at ringside, Mike Tenay, and "Yadda yadda yadda, if ya weeeeeeelllll" Dusty Rhodes*

Tenay and Rhodes provide everyone with a quick recap of the events shown in the previous video, before settling in on the first match of the evening, between Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Psicosis.

**Psicosis vs. Rey Mysterio, Jr.**

Tenay reminds the audience that this match came about due to Diamond Dallas Page's interference Monday night. Rhodes chimes in to tell the listeners at home that the winner of this match receives a shot at Eddie Guerrero and the Cruiserweight Title live on Nitro this next Monday. The match begins at a fast pace, and stays that way throughout, as the two men use their intimate knowledge of each other's wrestling styles to try to gain an advantage. After several minutes of this action, none other than DDP comes sneaking down the aisle, obviously ready to cause more trouble. This time however, he's focused on Rey, pushing him off the top rope, as he stands poised to fly into Psicosis. Neither Psicosis nor the referee see this however, leaving Psicosis no choice but to cover Rey for the 3 count, and the number one contendership!

*Psicosis leaves, having no clue what just happened, as DDP slides into the ring. He bends down to taunt Rey, looking as if he's about to lay another beating on him, when his attention is diverted by a beautiful blond woman stepping over the guardrail out of the audience. DDP looks on appreciatively, as Tenay say that something looks very familiar about this woman. Just as he figures out that it's the same woman who has been following Kidman around, and went out on a date with him on Monday, DDP realizes this too, as Kidman appears from nowhere, coming off the top rope with a dropkick right to the back of DDP. This knocks him out of the ring, enabling Kidman to check on Rey. Page looks pissed, but slowly backs off from the threesome in the ring*

(77/62/93; ***)

**She has a name…**

*The young lady gestures for a microphone as Kidman helps Rey up. The ring announcer seems almost too stunned by her good looks (and GREAT legs) to comply, but manages to get the mic in her hand. She speaks*

Blond Beauty: Now, I know that all of you out there are looking up at me and wondering, Just who IS this woman? And WHAT is she doing standing here with the WCW Tag Team champions? Well, the answer to both questions is very simple. My name is Stacy. And I'm standing here with these men for two reasons. First, I think Kidman is VERY cute.

*Kidman blushes as she says this, but makes no response*

Stacy: And second, because I'm tired of seeing so called "men" like Diamond Dallas Page and Kanyon take advantage of two of the best wrestlers in WCW today. So I propositioned Kidman…

*The crowd reacts with cat calls and hoots*

Stacy: It was a BUSINESS proposition thank you very much. I proposed that I would handle all of the business end of things, and coordinate matches, while letting Billy and Rey do what they do best. And that's kick butt, inside the ring. So from now on, these two men, two "Young Daredevils", have got an ace up their sleeve. And this ace ALWAYS comes…out on top.

*Stacy hands the mic back to the seemingly paralyzed announcer, before walking towards the ropes. Kidman and Rey both grab a rope, holding it open for her as she demurely steps through, giving the audience a VERY nice view*

(70%; Stacy gained overness)

Tenay and Rhodes can't seem to speak as the camera cuts back to them, finally managing to get out a few words about what lucky men Kidman and Rey are, before Tenay finally spares us from this by throwing us back to the ring for a special interview with Chris Daniels.

**For he's a fine upstanding…**

*Chris Daniels music is heard over the sound system, as he makes his way slowly to the aisle, slapping hands with all of the fans at ringside. He makes his way into the ring, and pulls a mic out of his tights (proving he's not just happy to see me). He begins to speak*

Chris Daniels: Thank you, thank you. It's great to be out here in front of such appreciative fans. Fans who recognize when someone comes out every night and tries their hardest. Fans who recognize when someone gives everything he has each and every night. And most importantly to me tonight, fans who recognize when someone gets SCREWED. Because that's what happened to me on Monday Night. After one of the best matches of my career against Kurt Angle, I as screwed out of a chance at a win by Angle's cheating ways. Kurt, I hope you're listening. Because what you did on Monday was a huge disappointment. Someone with the physical and mental skills that you have shouldn't need to rely on cheap tactics to get a win. But that's not all that's bothering me about your win Kurt. You see, when you beat me, I had to look the fans in the eye and admit that I couldn't get the job done that night. I had to admit that I let someone like you beat me. And I had people ask me, Chris, is Angle really better than you, like he said? Well all I can say in response to that is this: NO WAY. What happened on Monday was a fluke, pure and simple. Kurt Angle, one day the two of us are going to step foot in this ring again. And when that happens, rest assured that things WILL be different. As for tonight, Chavo Guerrero, Jr. , I've seen the kind of "skills" you prefer to use in your matches. But I want to challenge you Chavo, to put all of that aside and face me man to man, no tricks, no cheats. And may the best man win.

*Daniels hands the mic to the referee, who hands it out to the ring announces. Daniels bounces up and down, waiting for his opponent to come out*

(81%)

**Chris Daniels vs. Chavo Guerrero, Jr.**

Daniels doesn't have to wait long, as Chavo quickly makes his way to the ring. As Tenay and Rhodes talk about the intensity Daniels displayed in his interview, the match gets underway. It goes back and forth for several minutes, with neither man able to gain a clear advantage. Chavo tries to cheat at one point by putting his feet on the ropes for a pinfall, but the referee sees this, and pulls them off. As Chavo argues with the ref, Daniels recovers and catches Chavo with the Double Underhook Powerbomb, picking up the pinfall victory.

*Daniels helps Chavo off of the, before extending his hand to him, offering congratulations on a hard fought match. Chavo looks at him in disgust, before turning his back and leaving the ring, obviously disgusted with himself.*

(84/77/92; ***1/4)

Our fearless announcers review the previous match, pointing out that Daniels was able to overcome the cheating tonight and pick up a victory. Tenay then segueways (even on Thunder he's the king of that) into a discussion on Scott Steiner's recent return to WCW from a tour of Japan. He informs everyone that Steiner has requested, and been granted, time in the mic to issue an open challenge to anyone in WCW, in an attempt to "prove himself" to the WCW brass. He then informs us that this segment is next!

**Scott Steiner has a new…freak?**

*The sirens blaring bring out "Big Poppa Pump" to the ring, as the fans show their displeasure by giving him a large round of boo's. He grabs the mic from the ring announcer and begins to yell into it at the booing fans*

Scott Steiner: SHUT THE HELL UP! ALL OF YOU, SHUT THE HELL UP, BEFORE I COME OUT THERE AND SNAP YOUR SCRAWNY NECKS!

*This only encourages the fans to boo louder, which seems to strangely both enrage Steiner further and lower his speaking volume*

Scott Steiner: Like I give a damn what any of you in-bred hicks think. You see, lately it seems like I'm not getting the respect I deserve. So what I'm going to do is get somebody out here and beat their ass until I GET what I deserve. And when I do, there ain't anybody in WCW that can stop me. So this goes out to anybody in the back…

*Just as he says this, some…dog barking? Can be heard. Following the sound of this barking, Rick Steiner comes walking out onto the stage, himself holding a mic. As the fans react in surprise, he responds to what his brother said*

Rick Steiner: Scotty, hold on, hold on. I been listening to you the past few minutes. And you're right. You and me, we BOTH haven't gotten any respect lately. I mean, my last tag team partner was KENNY KAOS. But Scotty, you and me together, we could MAKE people respect us. Whatta say, Scotty? The Steiner Brother's together again?

Scott Steiner: You know something Rick. I don't NEED anybody to watch my back. But I think it IS about time that we showed WCW just what being a Steiner is all about. So Rick, I'll accept your offer. For now. But just like everybody else in WCW. If you don't respect me, then I'll kick your ass until you do. Now, like I was saying before. Anybody ELSE in the back wanna get their ass beat by Scott Steiner? Come on down boy.

**Scott Steiner vs. British Bulldog**

Steiner's challenge is soon answered, as the man he defeated on Monday, The British Bulldog comes running down the aisle to the ring. The two go at it, brawling back and forth, before slowing down into a more power move based match. In the end, Rick Steiner distracts the Bulldog long enough for Scott to catch him with a huge Belly-to-Belly suplex. He then locks in the Steiner Recliner, forcing the Bulldog to submit, which gives Scott Steiner another victory.

*As soon as the bell rings, Rick jumps in the ring and the two men lay a huge beating on The Bulldog, taking him down time and time again with suplexes and Steinerlines. They finally let up as a host of referee's run to the ring, but not before apparently knocking The Bulldog completely out. The fans boo this behavior, though the Steiner Brothers don't seem to care*

(80/80/81; ***)

Our announcer's talk about what a major happening that was, as The Steiner Brothers were one of the most talented and dominating tag teams in WCW at one time. Dusty adds that with the apparent lack on conscience these two have developed, there's no TELLING what kind of mayhem will happen as a result of this development. Tenay then announces that at this time, we're ready to hear from Eric Bischoff, live via satellite, concerning several matters of great importance.

**Eric's got a lot to say**

*The camera fades to show Eric Bischoff sitting in an office surrounded by papers on all sides. He looks into the camera, and begins speaking*

Eric Bischoff: Greetings everyone. I hope you're enjoying the great action that you've already seen on Thunder. And I'm sure that everyone is looking forward to our big tag team main event a little bit later on. But I'm here to talk about…other things. I don't want to take up too much of your time, so I'll get right to the point. First things first: The U.S. Championship, which is currently held by Bret Hart. Now, I'm not one to say that Bret Hart isn't a great champion, because he is. But I CAN say that the U.S. Title hasn't been defended as much as I would like to see lately. So this Monday, on Nitro, there will be a match between the two men that I have judged to be worthy of this title shot, in Kurt Angle, and Chris Benoit. And the winner of that match will go on to face Bret Hart, at Spring Stampede, for the U.S. Title. Now onto other business. Specifically, our World Champion, Goldberg. I know some of you fans have been wondering just where he's been since that attack by Raven and Sabu. Well let me assure you, that Goldberg is primed and ready for a return to action. And that's why he will be returning this Monday, to face none other than…the ALSO returning Scott Hall. Apparently Kevin Nash is still banged up form his match at Uncensored, but Mr. Hall should work well as a replacement. Now finally, I'd like to comment on the "situation" that has developed with Raven and his pals Tommy Dreamer and Sabu. Raven, you might have managed to put one over on Vader, and win Sabu a WCW contract. But I've got something special planned for you. Let's just say, when I get done with what I have planned, you won't ever WANT to show your face in WCW again. And THAT'S a promise.

*Bischoff looks back down at his desk, resuming his work as the camera fades out on him*

(89%)

Tenay and Rhodes both gush about the two huge announcements for Nitro, giving THREE big matches to look forward to. They then switch gears to review the saga that has developed between Chris Jericho and Booker T, including Booker's defeat of Jericho this past Monday on Nitro, and the subsequent attack by Buff Bagwell after the match. Tenay tells everyone that Booker T HAS chosen a tag team partner for tonight, though no one knows just WHO it is yet. Rhodes speculates that it might be his son Dustin, while Tenay just glosses over that and introduces the main event.

**Chris Jericho/Buff Bagwell vs. Booker T/confused.gif**

Jericho and Bagwell make their way out first, followed soon by Booker. After a brief moment, Booker's mystery partner is revealed to be…Chris Benoit! Tenay reminds everyone that Benoit has history with Jericho, as well as more recent history with Bagwell. The match gets underway, with all four men in the ring fighting back and forth. The match continues with multiple quick tags from both teams, before finally breaking down again, with Jericho and Booker fighting outside the ring, using the guardrail and everything else they can get their hands on to full advantage. In the ring, Benoit is able to dodge an attempted Buff Blockbuster, before going up top himself and nailing a Flying Headbutt for the 1-2-3!

*As Benoit recovers from his own move, Jericho and Booker continue their brawl, spilling over the guard rail and into the crowd, where they continue to battle back and forth*

(87/84/90; ****)

Tenay reminds everyone of the huge matches that we can look forward to on Monday, before bidding everyone a good night!

*The final shot of the evening is Jericho and Booker still going at it as the crowd gathers around them, going crazy for the brutality they are witnessing*

Overall: 80

Friday, April 9th:

Me: That was great.

Sophie: You're telling me. That WAS great.

Me: REALLY great. Wanna do it again?

Sophie: Maybe later. Right now, let's just talk.

Me: OK, sure, whatever you say. So should I turn it off now?

Sophie: I think so.

Me: Alright. Just hate to break up a good game of Madden football.

Sophie: I know, but we need to get back to work.

Me: Very true, very true. So, what do you have for me today?

Sophie: Well, everything is looking pretty solid for us. Seems to be a lot of anticipation for this coming Monday, what with the three BIG matches we announced. And of course, with the "big deal" you've got planned for the next few months should help maintain that interest. As far as last night goes...Let's see...We came in with an 80% approval rating.

Me: Hmm, that seems a little bit off. Not bad, but lower than I would have expected. Any idea on what might have caused that?

Sophie: The part of the show that was LEAST liked was the Steiner reunion. Apparently people would rather watch them beat people up than talk.

Me: Good point. I'll have to keep that in mind. What about the TV rating?

Sophie: Solid as usual. 2.12, which should keep the network happy. Overall, I think it was a good show to build towards this Monday. And we need a good show for Monday.

Me: You're not kidding. All three of the matches we've announced so far could be great if everyone is on their game. I just hope that the crowd reacts accordingly.

Sophie: I'm sure they will. By the way, did you get in touch with Bischoff?

Me: Yes, and he said that he should be able to make it on Monday. I told him how important it was for him to be there live this time, and I think I got my point across. So everything should be set for that.

Sophie: I hope that nothing goes wrong. I'm getting pretty excited about what we have coming up.

Me: Me too. I think the "war" between us and the WWF is about to get a whole lot hotter.

Sophie: Speaking of things getting hotter...

Me: Oh boy, here we go again...

Sophie: Oh stop it. Listen, I'm REALLY sorry about the other night. I mean, I know what it must have looked like, giving you the key to my motel room and all. I just can't believe I forgot to include that NOTE.

Me: Sophie, look it's ok. I mean, sure, I didnt know what was going on, but once you explained everything, it all made sense. Don't worry about it.

Sophie: Thanks. I mean, I knew I was going to be out late visiting some friends, and I also knew that one of them would have her lazy bum of a brother with her, and that he would probably follow me back to the motel. I'm just glad that you were there when he got there. I never saw him run so fast in my LIFE.

Me: Like I said, no problem. That guy was a total jerk anyway. He doesn't deserve someone like you.

Sophie: *Blushing* Thanks. Listen, I'm gonna run. Some of the advertising guys want to go over the new T-shirts, and need another opinion. I'll drop off what they have later on.

Me: Sounds good. And Sophie?

Sophie: Yes?

Me: Anytime you need something, don't be afraid to ask.

Sophie: I'll take you up on that sometime.

*She goes to leave, but not before giving me a big smile. I really am a lucky guy.

What, you didn't think anything was REALLY gonna happen in that motel room, did you? I'm a married man for crying out loud...*

Monday, April 12th:

Nitro!

**The Steiner's want some action**

*As the camera fades in, we are taken immediately to the ring, where we see the recently re-united Steiner Brothers standing, each with a mic. The fans boo as Scott raises his mic to speak…*

Scott Steiner: Alright, I want everybody here to sit back and SHUT THE HELL UP, because me and Rick are pissed off, and we're NOT in the mood for any crap.

Rick Steiner: Hey, in case you didn't notice, he said to SHUT THE HELL UP!

*This only entices the crowd to become louder, as the Steiner's look increasingly pissed off*

Scott: Now, me and Rick got a problem here tonight. You see, when we decided to hook back up, we figured that the first thing that would happen would be that somebody in the back at WCW would finally do something SMART and give us what we deserve. A shot at those punks holding the tag-team titles, Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr.

Rick: But what happened? We got screwed. We ain't even GOT a match here tonight.

Scott: So since everyone in the back is afraid to give the Steiner Brother's what we deserve, we're gonna TAKE what we deserve. But since those punks Kidman and Mysterio ain't here tonight, we gotta give THEIR beating to the first pair of nobodies who walk through that curtain…

*The Steiner's step back and wait, as the crowd cheers for the Tag champs to come out and face the Steiners. Kidman and Rey aren't in the building however, and the challenge is answered by…Alex Wright and Disco Inferno? Wright looks to be unhappy with the prospect, as Disco has to push him out. The Steiners don't give them a chance to even get in the ring, as the drop their mic's and charge outside, grabbing Wright and Disco and throwing them back into the ring*

(68%; Alex Wright gained overness)

**Steiner Brothers vs. Alex Wright/Disco Inferno**

The referee quickly calls for the bell as the Steiner's begin to beat on Wright and Disco, taking them down with stiff clothesline and general pounding action. Rick finally throws Disco out of the ring and exits himself, leaving Scott and Wright alone in the ring. Scott continues to pound away on Wright, taking him down with several Steinerlines as well as a huge press slam. With Wright down, Steiner moves in for the quick win, locking on the Steiner Recliner in the middle of the ring. Disco however is able to make his way into the ring to break it up, but gets taken down himself by Rick Steiner, who re-enters the ring and catches him with a belly-to-belly suplex. The Steiner's make a tag, and Rick comes in to work over Wright, keeping him down on the mat by simply pounding away at his back and neck Rick actually let's Wright tag out, bringing in Disco Inferno, who seems very reluctant to enter the ring. His reluctance is soon proved to be correct, as Rick Steiner catches him with another belly-to-belly suplex, before tagging Scott back in. Scott continues the punishment, as Disco tries to fight back, managing to knock Scott back with a series of punches. He takes advantage of a stunned Steiner by going after him with several kicks to the stomach, followed by an attempted whip to the ropes. He ducks down for a backdrop, only to be caught by a Scott Steiner kick to the chest, followed by another huge press slam. Steiner decides that it's time to finish things off, slapping the Recliner on Disco in the middle of the ring. As Rick prevents Alex Wright form entering the ring, Disco has no choice but to submit, giving the Steiners the win.

*Rick and Scott continue to beat on Wright and Disco, not letting them leave the ring before both men get taken down with a Rick Steiner Steinerdog from the top rope. Finally, the throw Wright and Disco out, posing inside the ring as the fans boo loudly*

(66/71/78; **; AAAAAGH, one of THOSE days…)

*After the action in the opening match, we are finally taken to ringside to actually SEE our commentators for the evening, Mike Tenay and Dave Meltzer*

Mike Tenay: What a way to open things up on Nitro tonight. Mike Tenay here, joined as always by my partner Dave Meltzer. And Dave, what a night we have here tonight on Nitro.

Dave Meltzer: You said it, Tenay. There's so many great matches to look forward to, not to MENTION that the World Champion, Goldberg, returns tonight when he defends his title against the ALSO returning Scott Hall.

MT: That's certainly an eagerly anticipated match for later this evening Dave. Also later on, Chris Jericho takes on Chris Daniels, Chris Benoit faces off against Kurt Angle to decide the number one contender for Bret Hart's U.S. Title, and Eddie Guerrero defends his Cruiserweight Title against Psicosis.

DM: Tenay, That's a packed card if I've ever seen one. Any one of those matches could be a show stealer on any night, and to have all of them on Nitro here tonight is an embarrassment of riches. Not that I'm complaining of course.

MT: Why would you? But now fans, coming up next we have a word WITH Cruiserweight Champion, Eddie Guerrero. Let's go to the back…

**Listen up essa…**

*We are taken to the back where Eddie Guerrero paces, looking less than pleased. He speaks into a mic, held by an unseen interviewer*

Eddie Guerrero: Listen up Essa, cause I'm gonna make this short and sweet. Tonight, I gotta get in that ring and defend MY Cruiserweight Title against a NOTHING. Psicosis, you're not worth my time. I'm gonna tear you from limb to limb essa, and when I get through, all that's gonna be left is that stupid wig you wear. But I've got something else to worry about. Dean Malenko, I'm sick and TIRED of you sticking your nose in my business. You think just because you USED to be Cruiserweight Champion, that you deserve a shot at MY title? I don't THINK so essa. You don't deserve CRAP from me. Dean, let's face it man. You were NEVER that good. You got lucky when you were Cruiserweight Champion. You got lucky, because I didn't come after you like I should have. But right now Dean, I'M the man in the Cruiserweight division. And like somebody always said, to be the man, you've gotta beat…You know the rest. But Dean, I'm gonna do you a favor essa. You see, after I bear Psicosis tonight, I'm not gonna have anybody left to challenge for my Cruiserweight Title. But one thing I've learned, is that a champion has to stay focused and has to stay sharp, or he doesn't stay champion for long. So I'm gonna give you a chance to prove yourself to me. This week, on Thunder, if you can take me out in a NON-title match, then I'll GIVE you a shot at MY Cruiserweight Title, at Spring Stampede. But I don't think I have too much to worry about essa. Because after Thunder, there won't be enough of you left to get in the ring at the PPV.

*Eddie drops the mic and walks off, but not before patting his Belt and pointing to the camera. The fans react accordingly, and actually begin to chant for Malenko as Eddie leaves*

(98%; Eddie Guerrero gained overness)

DM: You know something Tenay, I wouldn't bet against Eddie Guerrero this Thursday. I haven't seen his this focused in quite some time.

MT: You may be right Dave. But I can't help but think that Dean Malenko has GOT to be just as focused on "proving himself" against Eddie on Thunder. That should be a great back and forth match, and I for one, can't wait to see the outcome.

DM: After all of the great matches these two have had in the past, you can't really expect anything less than another classic performance on Thunder. But I still think that Eddie has the advantage. After all, he DOES have some back-up in his nephew, Chavo Guerrero, Jr.

MT: Hopefully Chavo will stay out of this one, and let Eddie win or lose on his OWN. Of course, it remains to be seen if that actually happens or not. But right now fans, we're going to take you back for a look at a confrontation earlier this evening between two opponents for tonight. Take a look.

**Mr. Clean Cut meets the conspiracy victim…**

*We cut quickly to a shot of earlier in the evening, as Chris Daniels sits lacing up his boots in his locker room. As he concentrates on getting ready, we suddenly see a shadow fall across the scene. As the camera looks up, it's revealed ot be Daniels opponent for the evening, Chris Jericho. Jericho begins to speak…*

Chris Jericho: Hey junior, what's going on, hmm? Getting ready? Nice boots by the way. Listen, Daniels, I wanted to stop by and pay you a visit for one reason. Tonight, you have the unspeakable honor and privilege of going face to face, one on one, mano a mano, with a true legend in the wrestling business. And that legend is none other than myself, Chris Jericho. And you see, I know how nerve wracking an experience like that can be. And that's why I wanted to stop by and let you know, you don't have to worry about tonight. I know that right now, your stomach is probably in knots, worrying about how badly I'm gonna beat you tonight. Well let me reassure you about tonight Daniels. You see, I've got bigger things than you on my mind. Like getting MY Television Title back from that low-life, cheating, has-been Booker T. So I'm gonna do you a favor, and take it easy on you tonight. Now, of course I'm still gonna beat you, but that goes without saying, right? But instead of beating you, and THEN humiliating you, I'll let you keep some dignity. Just wanted to let you know.

Chris Daniels: So you're gonna take it easy on me, huh Jericho? That's pretty convenient, isn't it? I mean, this way, if you lose, you're on record as admitting you weren’t trying very hard. But let me tell you something. Tonight, when I get in that ring with you, I don't WANT you to take it easy. I want the best that you've got. I mean, come on Chris, it's not like we haven't been in the ring together before. I know exactly what you're capable of, and you should certainly know what I can do. So let's prove tonight, just who IS better than whom. Because Jericho, WHEN I beat you, I don't want there to be any excuses. I want you to be able to look me in the eye and admit that sometimes, good really DOES beat evil. And tonight, that's exactly what's gonna happen. Good luck tonight Jericho. And may the best man win.

Chris Jericho: So you don't want me to take it easy on you huh? Well Daniels, I've beaten your ass before, and I can do it again tonight. And as far as the best man winning? I only see ONE man here right now. And I'll be the only one left standing after tonight. I'll see you in the ring.

Chris Daniels: Don't worry. I'll be there.

*Jericho walks off with a disgusted look on his face, while Daniels seems content to go back to silently preparing for the match*

(81%)

MT: The arrogance of Chris Jericho never fails to amaze me Dave. Chris Daniels has proven several times in WCW that he's not someone you want to overlook. As he said, Daniels and Jericho have gone at it before. Chris Jericho may be letting both his ego, and Booker T get in the way of his better judgment.

DM: You're right Tenay. Daniels doesn't need to be overlooked. And I do think that Jericho might be focused too strongly on Booker T and the Television Title But I also know that Chris Jericho is one of the smartest men in wrestling today, and that he NEVER comes into a match without a game plan. And I'm sure tonight will be no different. If I were Chris Daniels, I wouldn't make the mistake of thinking that Jericho is going to let him off easy, no matter WHAT he may say.

MT: We'll have to see which man comes out on top later this evening. But coming up next, we've got a great Title match for you. As you heard earlier, Psicosis won a match against Rey Mysterio, Jr. on Thunder that earned him a shot at Eddie Guerrero and the Cruiserweight Title here tonight. We've already heard from the Champion, and now it's time to see if he can back up his words in the ring.

DM: I don't doubt that he can. Eddie Guerrero is Champion for a reason. Still, Psicosis is no pushover, and should prove to be a worthy challenger. This one should be a great high0flying encounter.

MT: Let's head to the ring for that match, right now!

**Psicosis vs. Eddie Guerrero ©; Cruiserweight Title match**

Psicosis makes his way to the ring first to a small, but positive reaction from the crowd. He waits anxiously in the ring as Eddie Guerrero makes his way out, egging the crowd on by holding up his Title Belt along with a "I'm Number 1" foam finger that he grabs from an audience member. He makes his way into the ring, only to seemingly ignore Psicosis as the referee goes through the rules of the contest. Finally, as the ref turns to signal for the belt, Eddie jumps Psicosis from behind, taking him down with some pounding forearms and punches. He keeps up the pressure by continually waiting for Psicosis to get to his feet, only to knock him back down with another shot to the back. Finally, Psicosis is able to fight back by taking Eddie down with a drop toehold, before continuing on offense by running the ropes and catching him with a dropkick right to the face. Psicosis uses a variety of chops and kicks to keep the Champion off balance, before finally knocking him outside the ring with a nice spinning heel kick. Eddie attempts to regroup on the outside, but is not given the chance, as Psicosis follows him out with a springboard splash from the top rope, all the way down to the floor! Both men are down, as the referee begins a count. Psicosis recovers first, and rolls Eddie back inside the ring, before following him in by going up top again, this time coming down with a Guillotine Legdrop. Eddie however, manages to move out of the way, sending Psicosis crashing HARD down onto the mat. Eddie take s few moments to recover, before going back on offense, this time using a variety of submission holds to try to wear Psicosis down. He seems to focus closely on the legs, obviously attempting to limit the damage Psicosis can provide with an aerial attack. Eddie works over Psicosis for several minutes, not letting him get back into the match. Finally, Eddie goes up top to attempt to finish the match, only to miss his patented Frog Splash. With both men down again, the referee begins a 10 count. The fans are on their feet as he reaches 8, only for both Psicosis and Eddie to stumble to their feet. They go into a series of reversals, with Psicosis coming out on top when he reverses a whip into the ropes and catches Eddie with a big dropkick right to the mouth. With Eddie down, Psicosis decides to go up top again, to try to finish the match. What he doesn't count on is Eddie's nephew Chavo making his presence felt, as he suddenly jumps out of the crowd and up onto the ring apron. The referee turns to get Chavo down, as Psicosis takes a long time getting to the top rope, obviously distracted by the action on the apron. This gives Eddie a chance to grab his Title Belt out of the corner, which he uses to nail Psicosis in the head as he comes down from the top rope. As the referee turns around, he sees Eddie covering Psicosis, and has no choice but to count the 3, giving Eddie the (cheap) win.

*Chavo and Eddie look to continue punishing Psicosis, but soon abandon this strategy as Dean Malenko comes down the aisle, forcing them to clear out of the ring. As the ref checks on Psicosis, who is still down, Malenko gestures for Eddie to get in the ring, even going so far as to hold the ropes open for him. Eddie just smirks at Dean, before shaking his head, kissing his Title Belt, and walking slowly back down the aisle*

(77/81/92; ***)

DM: That right there is why Eddie Guerrero is still the Cruiserweight Champion. That use of not only his obvious physical skills, but his BRAIN, is what keeps Eddie on top of this division.

MT: You might call it his brain Dave, but I call it plain and simple cheating. Chavo Guerrero, Jr. had no business being down at ringside for that match. And I have the feeling that if he hadn't gotten involved when he did, we might be seeing a new Cruiserweight Champion right now. Regardless, this Thursday, Dean Malenko will finally get his hands on Eddie Guerrero again, and hopefully he can do something to teach Eddie a lesson.

DM: Easy does it Tenay, you're sounding a bit biased, don't you think? Like I've said time and time again, those men you see in that ring are there to do one thing, and that's win. And some of them are willing to go that little extra step to ensure a victory. Eddie Guerrero wants to hold onto that Cruiserweight Title, and he's willing to do ANYTHING to make sure that the belt stays around his waist. And frankly, I don't have a problem with that.

MT: All I can say, is that this Thursday on Thunder, those two men are going to be face to face in the middle of the ring, and I hope that whatever the outcome, that Eddie Guerrero does the right thing and takes on Malenko alone, so that the fans can have the classic match this could be NOT be tainted by any outside interference.

DM: I guess we'll find out if that happens this Thursday Tenay. But now, we've got something that I'm sure a lot of people have been looking forward to. Coming up next, we have an interview with a man who hasn't been seen in WCW for several weeks. At our last Pay-Per-View, Uncensored, you all saw Scott Hall take a tremendous beating from Vader. As a result of that match, Hall has been out with various minor injuries for several weeks. But tonight, he makes his return to WCW when he takes on World Champion Goldberg. Standing by in the back is Scott Hudson, with non other than the man himself, Scott Hall. Scott?

**Hey…yo?**

*We cut to the backstage area, where Scott Hudson is standing with a microphone, alongside Scott Hall. The crowd boos the appearance of Hall, even before he has a chance to say anything. Finally, Hudson turns to Hall to begin the interview*

Scott Hudson: Scott Hall, we haven't seen you around much the past few weeks, thanks to a brutal beating at the hands of Vader. But tonight you have a chance to make all of the pain of that beating wroth it, as you face Goldberg, with a shot at becoming the World Champion. What are your thoughts on this match tonight?

Scott Hall: *After a suitable pause* Hey yo… Ya know Hudson, I just got one thing to say. It's GREAT TO BE BACK here in… Dubbyaseedubbya. Ya know what? The past few weeks? They really sucked. I mean, I had to sit back at home and watch all these pretenders come out and wrestle, while I was nursing my injuries. Not all I was nursing either, lemme tell you that. But tonight, I'm back, and definitely better than ever. Ya see, when Eric Bischoff called me to find out if I could come to Nitro tonight, I thought, Hell, I shoulda been on Nitro EVERY night. Just cause those doctors told me to take a few weeks off, that wasn't any reason to lay low. Since when has Scott Hall listened to anything ANYBODY told him to do? So when Bischoff called and told me he wanted me to wrestle Goldberg, I didn't hafta think about it. I told him I'd be here, and to make sure my plane ticket would be waiting for me. Cause I wouldn't wanna miss a date with Billy boy. Ya see, Goldberg, you've been a pain in MY neck for a long time. Ever since you came to Dubbyaseedubbya, you been walking around like you're the king of this place. Well guess what chico? The only thing you're gonna be king of after tonight, is king of the local emergency room. See, after what you did to Big Kev, I figure The Outsiders owe ya one. And since Kev can't come back just yet, it's up to me to take care of you. And it's gonna be real sweet to beat you from one side of this place to the other, and finish up by taking you down with the Outsider's Edge, and take your belt. But more than that Goldberg…I'm gonna make sure you bleed tonight. And it'll be Just…Too…SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET.

*Hall slaps the mic back in Hudson's face, before doing his "airplane" imitation as he walks off camera*

(81%)

MT: Scott Hall certainly seems confident as he looks at facing Goldberg here tonight.

DM: That he does. And why shouldn't he? Both Scott Hall AND the World Champion have been out, but Goldberg's injuries at the hands of Raven and Sabu are more recent. If anything, I think the match tonight is a bigger risk for Goldberg than for Hall.

MT: You may be right Dave. And Goldberg and Scott Hall have a long history of with each other, with none of it pleasant. Certainly a big time match, and a bit main event coming up later this evening. But now fans, were going to head back to the ring for another of tonight's great matches, as Chris Daniels attempts to bounce back after a disappointing loss last week, thanks to some underhanded tactics on the part of Kurt Angle.

DM: Like we all saw earlier, he'll be taking on Chris Jericho, who seems to be looking for Booker T and the Television Title more than Chris Daniels. But like I said before, I don't think Jericho is going to let Daniels sneak away with this one. WE should be in for a great match-up here in a few minutes.

MT: Let's head back to the ring fans.

**Chris Daniels vs. Chris Jericho**

As has become usual, Daniels comes down to ringside to a positive reaction, which he plays to by slapping hands and pausing to hug the crowd. He gets in the ring, doing some stretching to loosen up as he awaits his opponent. As is also usual, Jericho gets a VERY pronounced negative reception, which he does his best to ignore. HE gets in the ring and immediately goes after Daniels, giving the referee no choice but to start the match quickly. The two men go at it back and forth for the first several minutes of the match, causing the fans to stay on their feet in excitement. Daniels and Jericho reverse move after move, as neither man seems to want to give an early advantage to the other. Finally, Jericho is able to take control by poking Daniels in the eye on an attempted backdrop. He continues on the offense with some stiff chops to the chest, but Daniels fights back with some of his own. The two men go into another sequence of moves and counters, with Daniels gaining the advantage this time after a beautiful dropkick to the chin on Jericho. He begins to work over Jericho with some fast paced moves, including a nice series of leg drops that start on the mat, before ending with a big legdrop from the second rope. He only manages a two count though, as Jericho won't give up. With Daniels looking to have the match well under control, Jericho decides to roll to the outside to catch a breath. As the referee begins to count, Jericho looks to be giving up, as he starts walking up the aisle. Daniels doesn't want to win that way though, as he heads outside to grab Jericho. It proves to be a ruse, as Jericho catches Daniels with a backdrop, sending him down hard on the ramp. He pulls Daniels back to his feet, before pushing him back to the ring, finally shoving him inside. Jericho attempts to cover, but only gets a 2 before Daniels puts a shoulder up. Jericho starts to work over Daniels at this time, focusing on his legs and back to soften him up for the Liontamer. He slaps on a single leg crab in the middle of the ring, which manages to put even more pressure on the lower back and leg of Daniels. Jericho finally releases after Daniels won't give in, but keeps up the pressure by running the ropes and springing off with a nicely executed Lionsault. He gets another close 2 count, as Daniels seems to be weakening. Jericho decides it's time to finish the match, and goes to put the Liontamer on his opponent. Daniels is ready for this however, and grabs Jericho as he bends down, wrapping him up with a small package. The surprise almost keeps Jericho form kicking out, but he manages to do so before 3. He goes back after Daniels, only to be met by a drop toehold that takes him down. Daniels comes up quickly and goes after Jericho, sending him to the ropes before sending him sky high with a big back body drop. Daniels then takes to the tope rope, coming off with a huge flying cross body, which gets him another 2 count on Jericho. Jericho seems to be almost beaten, as he rolls around on his stomach on the mat. Daniels lifts Jericho to his feet, only to have Jericho catch him with a big right hand right between the eyes. Daniels quickly drops like a rock, which Jericho takes advantage of, covering him for the 1-2-3 by the referee.

*As the fans react in shock at the finish of the match, Jericho reveals his secret plan. As he rolls out of the ring, we see him tuck what appears to be a chain back into his tights, which was evidentially used to take out Chris Daniels a moment ago. Jericho begins to walk back up the aisle, celebrating his tainted victory, when he suddenly comes face to face with his nemesis, Booker T! The fans jump to their feet as Booker snuck up behind Jericho, waiting for him to turn around. Jericho shows his true colors, turning around and jumping the guardrail into the crowd, trying to get as far away form Booker T as possible. Booker chooses not to pursue him, but merely watches as Jericho runs away*

(80/83/95; ***)

MT: I'd say that for all of his talk earlier, Chris Jericho was obviously worried about this match tonight. I mean, we all saw the chain he put in his tights. I'd say THAT was his game plan that you talked about earlier Dave.

DM: I'd say so Tenay. And while you might not agree with the METHOD Jericho chose, you can't argue with the results. And once again, I have to go back to this. Chris Daniels, as talented as he is, and hey, I've hyped him up as much as anybody. But as talented as he is, he has to recognize that in this business, not everyone is going to follow the rules all of the time. And if he wants to be successful, he's going to have to take a close look at his style and decide if his "clean cut" wrestling is going to take him where he wants to be.

MT: I just don't think that Daniels needs to alter his approach to the sport. Chris Daniels seems to have a very old fashioned approach to things here in WCW, and that's something unique. With his physical skills, it's only a matter of time before he has that truly breakthrough moment to start him on his way. And it's very appropriate that we're talking about things of that nature, because coming up next we ANOTHER young man whose potential is limitless, in Kurt Angle. Last week, Angle used some "less than honorable" tactics to gain a victory over Daniels, and he's been rewarded with this match here tonight.

DM: That's right Tenay. Tonight, two of the very best in-ring technicians in the world today will go at it for a chance to face ANOTHER technical master at the PPV, in Bret Hart. Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle have already met up once, with Angle getting the victory. And personally, I think he's got the advantage here tonight, just for that reason. He's got the momentum on his side, not only with that win, but also with his victory over Daniels last week. But that's not to discount Chris Benoit. He's a man who's always been on the cusp of true superstardom. And this match could be the boost h needs to take that next step.

MT: Like you said, these two are two of the best technical wrestlers, I think EVER to set foot in the ring. And with a shot at Bret Hart and the U.S. Title on the line, you know they're going to be at the top of their game. Fans of mat wrestling, you might want to set your V.C.R's for this one.

**Kurt Angle wants to say something**

*Before Tenay can say anything further, he is interrupted by the now familiar music of none other than the man he was just discussing, Kurt Angle. Angle makes his way slowly to the ring, waving to his "adoring" fans, which seem content to boo him mercilessly. He grabs the mic from the ring announcer, and begins to speak…*

Kurt Angle: Thank you, thank you, and thank YOU. It's always great to be out here in front of such appreciative fans.

*The fans stop booing for a moment, confused at this apparent change in heart*

Kurt Angle: Wait a minute, don't tell me you actually BOUGHT that? Yeah, it's always great to be out here in front of fans who boo and jeer the best thing they're ever going to see.

*This statement brings back the boos and jeers in double strength*

Kurt Angle: Yeah, that's more like it. That's what I would expect from a bunch of toothless morons like all of you. Now listen up, because I've got something to say. Chris Benoit, it seems like I can't get rid of you. I mean, I already BEAT you one time, cleanly might I add. But here you are again, looking forward to match with me. And for what? I mean, it's not as if you have a chance to win this match. They might as well print up the cards that say "Kurt Angle challenges Bret Hart for the U.S. Title at Spring Stampede" now, right? And really, Benoit, do you REALLY think that anyone here WANTS to see you win? Now, Bret Hart might not be QUITE on my level as a pure wrestler, but a match between me and him would CERTAINLY attract more interest than a match between the two of you. Look at you. Just because you got "trained" in his dad's "Dungeon" DOESN'T mean you deserve a shot at that Title. You know Benoit, it's almost a shame to have to take you down another notch tonight. But I guess I have to prove one more time to these idiots out here that when it comes down to a revolution in pure wrestling, that Kurt Angle's the only one they can turn to. So come on out Benoit, let's get this thing over with. Oh, and one more thing. When I beat you, try to remember: It's nothing personal. I'm just better than you.

*With that said, Angle hands the mic back and begins to jog in place, awaiting the entrance of his opponent. He doesn't have long to wait…*

**Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit; U.S. title #1 Contendership match**

…As Benoit comes running down the aisle, anxious to get in the ring and take care of Angle. He slides in and the two begin quickly going at it, with both men going down to the ground and rolling around in a series of amateur style wrestling holds. Angle gets the early edge with a variation on a front face lock, but Benoit fights out with elbows to the stomach, forcing Angle to break the hold. Benoit goes to a striking offense, reddening Angle's chest with some vicious chops. Angle retaliates by grabbing Benoit's leg, taking him right back to the ground. He again attempts to lock on a hold to keep Benoit on the mat, but is again not able to do so, as Benoit continually fights out with chops and elbows. Benoit continues on the offensive with a nice snap suplex, followed up by some mat based holds of his own. This time however, it's Angle's turn to counter, as he manages to reverse a leglock by Benoit into one of his own. He then transitions this into a single leg crab, which he then moves into an STF like hold. Benoit won't give up though, and as he is close to the ropes, is able to reach out and force Angle to break. Actually letting Benoit get back to his feet, Angle shoots back in for another attempt at a take down, but Benoit dodges the attempt and pounds away on Angle's neck and shoulder with some clubbing blows. HE attempts to lock in a Crippler Crossface, but Angle rolls out of the hold, reversing to his OWN version of a crossface, right in the middle of the ring. He cranks back on the hold, trying to get Benoit to submit, but Benoit won't comply. Instead, he rolls out of the hold himself, this time latching onto Angle's back, pulling him up in position for a German Suplex. Angle tries to block the attempt, but another series of forearms to the back of the head softens him up, allowing Benoit to take Angle up and over in a bridged version of the German Suplex. The referee drops to count the pinfall, with Angle barely managing to get his shoulder up after 2. Benoit continues on the attack with another German Suplex attempt, only to have this one reversed by Angle into a German of his own. Angle goes for a cover, but takes too long and only receives a one count. Both men struggle to their feet as the crowd begins to buzz. Benoit goes right after Angle, charging with an attempted clothesline. Angle manages to duck, and goes for an Olympic Slam, which Benoit is able to slide out of, before grabbing Angle in a full nelson. He pushes Angle to the middle of the ring, before snapping him backwards with a HUGE Dragon Suplex! The crowd goes crazy on seeing this move, and this seems to energize Benoit, who gives the "cutting the throat" signal, before going up top. With Angle down, Benoit is able to come off with a picture perfect Flying Headbutt! Benoit takes a moment to recover, before rolling over on top of Angle, gaining the three count and the U.S. title shot.

*Benoit tries to prove his sportsmanship after the match, extending a hand to Angle to help him up. Angle refuses, and gets up on his own, but surprisingly then extends HIS hand to Benoit to shake on the great match. As soon as Benoit takes his hand however, Angle pulls him in and takes him over with a big Olympic Slam, causing the crowd to explode in boos at his actions. Angle leaves the ring and walks back up the aisle, with a less than please look on his face*

(80/83/95; ***)

MT: What a match that was Dave. I'd have to say that it definitely lived up to all expectation, as those two men just engaged in some of the best pure wrestling action you're going to see.

DM: No doubt about it Tenay. Both Chris Benoit AND Kurt Angle proved why they deserved to be in this match tonight. And I think you can see how upset Kurt Angle was by the loss, as he flattened Benoit with that Olympic Slam after the match.

MT: Angle certainly showed his true colors once again Dave, but I don't think it detracts from the match that preceded it. Fans, once again, your winner, Chris Benoit. And think what this means for Spring Stampede. Chris Benoit faces the man whose father TRAINED him, in Bret Hart. You know that Benoit has to be looking forward to getting in the ring with someone like Hart.

DM: That's yet another dream match for wrestling fans that you'll only see in WCW. Bret Hart and Chris Benoit should be a classic encounter. I have to wonder though, if Benoit can overcome his loyalty to the Hart family as a whole, and really take it to Bret.

MT: I have a feeling that when he steps in the ring against "The Hitman", Chris Benoit is going to be thinking about only one things. And that's the U.S. Title.

DM: I can't wait to see if you're right on this one Tenay. And something else I can't wait for is coming up next. Eric Bischoff promised that he would be here, live tonight, with a special announcement concerning the future of WCW. And I happen to have found out from my sources in the back, that he'll be talking about Spring Stampede here tonight, as WELL as what some have dubbed "The Extreme Trio" of Raven, Sabu, and Tommy Dreamer. Should be interesting to see what he has to say about those three men, to say the least.

MT: Not to mention his news on the upcoming PPV. Wee already have one great match signed, with Chris Benoit taking on Bret Hart for the U.S. Title. Who knows what other matches may be added to the card tonight. Fans, let's take you back to the ring for this very special interview.

**Bischoff has a lot to talk about**

*The strains of Eric Bischoff's music fill the arena, as the crowd comes to their feet in anticipation of what he has to say. Bischoff makes his way out slowly, looking extremely focused on the task at hand. He makes his way into t e ring, where he asks for, and is given, a mic. He slowly begins to speak*

Eric Bischoff: Now I didn't come out here to take up a lot of your time. I know that you're all looking forward to the big main event tonight, as am I. But I did want to come out here and make a few announcements. First things first. As concerns our upcoming Pay-Per-View, Spring Stampede. Now, you all know that we here in WCW strive to give you top quality action each and every week here on Nitro, as well as on Thunder. But you also know that when it comes time for a PPV, we like to turn things up just one more notch. Now, as you already know, at Spring Stampede, Bret Hart WILL defends his U.S. Title against "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit. As great as that match should be, it won't be enough to satisfy you, I know this. That's why I've thought long as hard about how to truly make Spring Stampede a memorable night. So therefore, coming up in a few weeks, the following matches WILL take place. First off, I am giving my approval to Eddie Guerrero's challenge to Dean Malenko. If Malenko can defeat Eddie Guerrero this Thursday, then he WILL receive a shot at the Cruiserweight Title. Second, the World Tag Team titles will be on the line, as Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr., the so-called "Young Daredevils" will defend their titles one more time against DDP and Kanyon, The Triad. This match will be contested however, under No-DQ, no count out rules. But, anyone caught interfering in the match will be automatically suspended. Moving on, since every good champion needs a number on contender, I decided that two MORE tag teams will also compete for a shot at the Tag Gold, as the recently re-united Steiner Brothers will face off against…well, you're going to see one of these guys here in just a few minutes, as the Steiner's will compete against The Outsiders!

*The fans react accordingly to this announcement*

Eric Bischoff: For those of you wondering, I've spoken with Kevin Nash's doctor, and he has assured me that Nash will be able to compete in time for the PPV. Now this match may not feature 4 of the most popular men in WCW right at the moment, but I feel that two teams of this stature deserve a chance to compete, not only at the PPV itself, but also for the Tag Team Titles. Now, moving right along to two men you also saw earlier in the night. For the past several months, there hasn't been a hotter rivalry in WCW than that between Booker T and Chris Jericho. I think we've all seen them steal the show at the past few PPV's, as well as here on Nitro. But as much as I enjoy these two men facing off, I've come to the executive decision that it's time to end this thing. But not just with any type of match. Oh no. this match will be…something different. This match will be brutal. And this match will be bloody. This match is called…The Ultimate Cage. As far as the specifics of this match, those will be revealed also on Thunder. Sorry to tease you with that, but we still have to hammer out a few specifics on the cage itself. But suffice to say, it's going to make for a match to remember. Now, with that all out of the way, it's time to turn my attention to something more personal. I'm sure that all of you have seen the recent attacks and actions by the man known as Raven over the past few weeks. I'm also sure you've seen him bring in his friend Sabu, as well as a man who USED to be his most hated rival, in Tommy Dreamer. And I've sure that all of you are wondering, what is Eric Bischoff going to do about this. These three men, this "Extreme Trio" if you will, must be stopped, before they do serious damage to the integrity of WCW. In my position, I cannot allow three men to run roughshod over this company. Not again. And so I decided that, unlike last time, I'm going to take offensive action. That's why, I am ordering the following match, also for Spring Stampede. Raven, you and Sabu already have WCW contracts, and I'm willing to give this Dreamer guy a contract for one night also, just to finish this thing off quickly. That's why, at Spring Stampede, I've made a 6-man match. Raven, Sabu, and Tommy Dreamer, will be facing off against three men who, in my opinion, represent everything WCW is about…

*A sudden blare of music interrupts as none other than Raven walks out onto the stage alone, holding a mic.*

Raven: Eric Bischoff, you speak of ending things quickly. You speak of damaging the integrity of WCW. What you obviously fail to recognize is that nothing you say or do can stop what has begun. No match that you make will be enough to stem the tide of pain and glory that will soon enter WCW. And nothing that is in WCW will be strong enough to withstand what is to come. Soon, very soon Bischoff, all of WCW will feel my pain. But first, it is time for YOU to feel it…

*As he says this, Sabu and Tommy Dreamer jump Bischoff from behind. They have obviously crept in while Raven was speaking, and take full advantage of the helpless Bischoff, as Dreamer nails him time and time again with a Kendo Stick, while Sabu grabs a chair from the outside, before coming off the top rope with a big Arabian Facebuster. The duo seem to be in a frenzy of attack, before Raven speaks their names into the mic, ordering them to pull back. The slowly leave the ring and join Raven on the stage, where they stand amidst the boos from the crowd. Raven gives a sadistic smile and turns to leave, but before he can…*

Eric Bischoff: *dragging himself to the ropes, struggling to get the words out* Raven…you don't know what you've gotten yourself into. You didn't let me finish my announcement. At Spring Stampede, you three will go face to face with three men…Vader…Sting…and Goldberg! Quote the Bischoff, nevermore…

*Dreamer and Sabu react in a violent manner, seeming upset. Raven stands quietly looking at Bischoff, before the same smile creeps back over his face. He signals for the rest of his "Trio" to leave, which they do, as the crowd goes BANANA! over the announcement made by Bischoff*

(85%)

MT: Oh my god! What a huge announcement form Eric Bischoff!

DM: You said it Tenay. Three of the biggest names EVER in WCW history will be teaming up to try to face off this threat to WCW. I mean, Sting has been overseas for the past few weeks, but he'll be back at Spring Stampede, and he'll have Vader and the World Champion with them.

MT: And you know after what happened to Goldberg at the hands of these men, that he'll be MORE than happy to get his hands on ANY of them. Not to mention Vader himself, who lost a match to Raven thanks to Tommy Dreamer's interference. And you know, even though Eric Bischoff didn't verify this, that with those six men, it's liable to be no holds barred, hardcore action from the opening bell.

DM: I'll tell you something. I know that Raven has a big master plan for all of this, but this announcement HAS to throw a monkey wrench into those plans. I mean, three of the top guys in WCW, taking on himself and two men who haven't had an official MATch in WCW? Sure, they've made an impact, but the next impact they make may be as the get powerbombed right through the mat by Vader, or speared by Goldberg, or Stinger Splashed by Sting.

MT: Of course Dave, Vader, Sting, and the Champion can't be too thrilled either. After all, these are three of the most extreme men in the wrestling world today, and they'll do ANYTHING to reach their goal. It should be a thrilling match.

DM: That it should, and in reality, it might be too close to call.

MT: Fans, it's tough to move on after that turn of events, but we've still got our big main event to look forward to. Goldberg and Scott Hall will both be making their return here tonight after brief absences, and they'll be doing so in a match for the World Title. We heard form Scott Hall earlier in the evening, but now the time for talking is through. Dave, your prediction for the winner in this match?

DM: The fans Tenay, the fans will be the winner in this one. In all seriousness though, I think this one may come down to the wire. These are two big, tough men, who just don't like each other. We'll just have to see what happens.

MT: We will indeed, as that match happens…now!

**Goldberg © vs. Scott Hall; World Title match**

The challenger enters first, seeming to soak in the jeers from the crowd. Of course, he does his infamous toothpick throw at the camera as he walks down the aisle, as well as the me me me me me me me yeah! pose inside the ring. The fans are on their feet for the champions entrance, and they aren't disappointed, as he makes his way form the back with the usual security escort. Goldberg enters to a huge ovation from the crowd, who are obviously happy to see him back and on his feet. He makes his way to the ring, where Hall waits with a smile on his face. The referee shows the belt to Hall, and signals for the match to get underway.

Hall and Goldberg circle each other for the opening few minutes, with Hall throwing in little jabs at Goldberg, attempting to rile him up. It finally works, as Hall tries one too many, only to have his hand caught by Goldberg, who then pulls him in for a devastating short-arm clothesline. Goldberg doesn’t waste any time, going right after Hall by picking him up, before whipping him into the ropes for another clothesline, this time covering afterwards for a two count. Goldberg keeps the pressure on by throwing Hall into the corner, where he begins to work him over with forearm shots to the head and punches to the body. Hall finally manages to fight back with some punches of his own, even knocking the Champion back a few steps at one point. Hall presses forward with a discuss right, before grabbing Goldberg and setting him up for a Fall-away Slam. He nails him with it, but only gets a one count before Goldberg kicks out. Hall tries to go for another slam, only to have this one blocked by Goldberg, who takes him down into a nice cross armbreaker. Hall reaches out and grabs the ropes quickly, forcing Goldberg to break.

The two men go back to circling around each other again, this time with Hall the aggressor, as he goes back after Goldberg with a series of right hands, segueing into a series of shoulder blocks, which Goldberg seems to shrug off. Hall whips Goldberg into the ropes but misses on a clothesline attempt, before being caught by a big flying shoulder tackle from Goldberg on the rebound. Goldberg sees his advantage, and goes to the corner to set up for the Spear. As Hall stands, Goldberg charges, but misses the challenger, as Hall dodges out of the way. The impact sends Goldberg right into the turnbuckle, which seems to give Hall an edge. He immediately goes after Goldberg with some high impact power moves for the next several minutes, before finally deciding that enough is enough, and that it's time to go for the Outsider's Edge. He struggles to try to get Goldberg up into position, only to have the Champion backdrop him over his head right into the referee. The ref is momentarily knocked out, and therefore doesn't see Hall roll out of the ring to grab the chair. Hall slides back in the ring as Goldberg looks up from the ref just in time to see Hall swing the chair at his head. Fortunately for Goldberg, he is able to duck, and runs the ropes to the opposite side. Hall can't get the chair up in time, and is thus met with a Spear from Goldberg right into the chair, which is then driven backwards into Hall's stomach. As the referee manages to get back to his feet, Goldberg picks up the limp Hall, before raising him high into the air for a perfect Jackhammer. As the fans go crazy, the ref counts to 3, giving Goldberg the win.

*Goldberg grabs the Title belt and begins to celebrate with the fans. This is soon cut short however, as it's revealed that Raven and company haven't left the building. The three men charge the ring and attack the Champion, who tries to fight back. As tough as Goldberg is however, he's no match for three men with such skill and lack if inhibitions. Raven grabs the chair and drives it down repeatedly into Goldberg's back, as Dreamers busts him open with the Kendo Stick, breaking it in the process. Raven then sends Sabu up for another Arabian Facebuster using the chair, which further opens up the cut. As the blood of the Champion spills in the ring, Raven grabs Goldberg's head, whispering something to his out of range of the camera, before delivering an Evenflow DDT right onto the steel chair. The three men continue to beat on Goldberg as security runs down to the ring to try to pull them off*

(74/88/73; **3/4)

MT: Oh my god, what a scene we have in the ring. That's pure carnage in there Dave.

DM: Tenay, Raven, Sabu, and Dreamer have done something that no one else has been able to do. And that's take Goldberg down, and take him down HARD. I've never seen the Champion in this kind of situation.

MT: Neither has anyone else. This has been one of the most brutal night I've ever witnessed here on Monday Nitro. But I have a feeling that, if Raven gets his way, it won't be the last. What a scene. Fans, we're out of time for tonight. But tune in on Thunder, where we'll attempt to sort things out.

DM: I hope we can sort them out fast Tenay. Or there might not be anything LEFT of our World Champion.

MT: Good night everybody!

*As we close, we are shown a shot of the blood stained canvas where Goldberg is laying, while in a split screen shot, Raven stands with Sabu and Dreamer, that same sadistic, cruel smile playing across all three faces…*

Overall: 79% (UGH I hate "One of those nights)

(OOC)There was going to be a Sophie segment up, but after working on it for an hour, my computer crapped out on me. Suffice to say, I'm less than pleased. Oh well. TV rating was 7.27. I asked Sophie to reassure me about the upcoming "big angle". She did. We talked about how the "Ultimate Cage" is going to be shown in a video segment on Thunder, and how the rest of the card for Spring Stampede will be revealed on Thunder also. Before leaving, Sophie informed me that Hogan wants to talk to me. I told her I wanted to talk to him too, since I've been hearing rumors that he's been bad-mouthing the company. That's about it. Sorry, as I think it was a fairly enertaining segment, with a little bit of "pissiness" by yours truly also thrown in. (/OOC)

Scenes of their attacks on various WCW superstars are shown, before ending with a show of Eric Bischoff, as he lays against the ropes, blood streaming down his face, announcing the main event for Spring Stampede: Raven, Sabu, and Tommy Dreamer against the best of WCW: Vader, Sting, and the World Champion, Goldberg*

*Pyro~! Explodes as 9019 people rise to their feet in anticipation of another great night of WCW action here on Thunder!. We immediately go to ringside, where our hosts, "Iron" Mike Tenay and "Yadda yadda yadda if ya weeeeeeelllll" Dusty Rhodes go into a discussion of some of the events of this past Monday on Nitro. They then run down the current card for Spring Stampede before throwing us to the ring for the opening match of the evening*

**Chris Daniels vs. Tajiri**

As the two men make their way to ringside, Tenay reminds everyone of the problems Chris Daniels has faced in recent weeks, as he's lost a few close matches thanks to underhanded tactics on his opponents part. Dusty mentions that Daniels seems to be trying hard not to become frustrated by this, and that he also seems to be determined to fight through the adversity. The match is a fast paced back and forth affair, with both men having the advantage. In the end, Daniels is able to secure the win over the man he first faced when he entered WCW when he catches him with the Double Underhook Powerbomb and covers him for the pin.

*Daniels helps Tajiri up and goes to shake his hand, only for Tajiri to refuse and spit in Daniels hand. Daniels just shakes his head as Tajiri walks away, disgusted*

(81/69/94; ***1/4)

Dusty and Tenay put over the clean win for Daniels, only to be interrupted, as apparently Daniels isn't through yet…

**Daniels lays out the challenge**

*Chris Daniels has asked for, and been given a mic. He waits for the fans to calm down and begins to speak*

Chris Daniels: Thank you. I wanted to take this opportunity to say something. I'm sure that everyone here has noticed that the past few weeks haven't been the best of my life. I had been on a losing streak before my match tonight. And yeah, I could come out here and talk about how I've lost to a couple of cheap shot artists in Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle, and how I had the match won before their cheating. But in the end, I have to admit one thing: It's my fault. That's right, it's my fault. You see, I can do better. I've always believed that in the end, the best athlete will come out on top. And that no matter what, if you do things the RIGHT way, then everything will work out in the end. And that's why I wanted to come out here tonight, and wrestle in front of all of you. To prove that in the end, the best man always wins. Which brings me to the future. My opponent for tonight, Tajiri, is a great athlete, and a wrestler that I'm proud to have defeated here. But in order to truly prove myself, I have to face my past. In this case, my recent past. You see, I wanted to come out here and challenge Chris Jericho for the PPV here in a few weeks. But I heard that he's going to be pretty tied up with Booker T inside the "Ultimate Cage". But I thought, not too long ago, I faced Kurt Angle on Nitro, and was defeated. And I know that Kurt Angle doesn't have a match for the PPV, as he was unsuccessful in his quest for a U.S. Title shot. So Angle, how about a rematch? Just you and me, one on one, in the ring, at Spring Stampede? I'll wait here for your answer.

*Daniels puts the mic down and waits, as the fans cheer his challenge. After a few moments, the music of Kurt Angle is heard. Soon enough, he walks onto the stage to huge boo's from the crowd. Angle looks almost amused as he raises a mic to answer the challenge*

Kurt Angle: I'm sorry, but I guess I've got waxy build-up in my ears or something. Did YOU, just challenge ME, to a match at Spring Stampede? Did you, um, whatever your name is, just get up in front of these "fans" and actually call KURT ANGLE out? I guess you must have a death wish or something, because in case you forgot, I already beat you once. In fact, not only did I beat you, I HUMILIATED you. And you want to get BACK in the ring with me? What are you, some kinda masochist? I mean, I'd be more than happy to beat the crap out of you again. But I think I should warn you about something. Last time we wrestled, I took it easy on you. If you wanna go through with this match, I won't do it again.

CD: Kurt, I appreciate you coming out here. And maybe you're right. You ARE an Olympic level athlete. And you ARE one of the top wrestlers in the world today. But I'm very serious about this. You see, I've got something to prove. To myself, to you, and most importantly, to these fans out here. And I figure the best place to do it is on PPV, where everyone will be watching. What do you say Kurt?

KA: What do I say? What do I say? I say…When I get done with you at Spring Stampede, I'll only have one thing to say to you. Because it's nothing personal. I'm just better than you.

*Angle drops the mic and stares after Daniels for a moment before exiting the stage. Daniels stares right back after Angle, waiting until he's left the arena to hand his mic back to the ring announcer. He exits back up the aisle, as always, taking time to slap hands with all of the fans*

(91%; Chris Daniels and Kurt Angle gained overness)

Our fearless announcers go over the scene and challenge we just witnessed, and discuss that, as good as the previous match between the two men were, the upcoming match has the chance to be even better. Tenay hypes the match as a chance to see the future of WCW in action against each other on "the big stage". He then reminds everyone of the main event later on tonight, as Eddie Guerrero takes on Dean Malenko, with a shot at Eddie's Cruiserweight Title on the line. He informs us that coming up next we'll be hearing from Eddie Guerrero concerning his match tonight.

**Dean Malenko is going down**

*We cut to the backstage area, where Eddie Guerrero is holding a mic. He looks angrily into the camera before beginning to speak*

Eddie Guerrero: Dean Malenko, I'm gonna make this short, but NOT sweet. Later tonight essa, I get a chance to finally put my hands on you. And it's about time too man, because for the past few months, you've been nothing but a thorn in my side. I know what you want essa. You want the Cruiserweight Title. But guess what essa? YOU'RE NOT GONNA GET IT. Because tonight, when we get in that ring, there's not gonna be anybody who can stop me. I'm gonna beat you from one side of the ring, all the way to the other. And when I get done, and I come off the top rope with the Frog Splash, I'm gonna put you right through the ring. But essa, there's one thing I want you to remember. After I beat you, that's it. No more chances. So enjoy your chance to be a star essa. Because it's the last one that you're gonna get.

*Eddie stalks off after a long look into the camera, obviously ready for his match later on*

(94%)

Dusty expresses his disgust as Eddie Guerrero and the methods he uses to hold onto his title, but admits that Eddie can go inside the ring. Tenay agrees with this, but wonders if Dean will have a fair shot tonight, with Eddie's nephew Chavo somewhere in the building. He then announces that coming up next, one half of the Tag Team Champions, Kidman, will take on a member of The Triad, in Bam Bam Bigelow. Tenay also throws in that Kidman and Rey's manager, Stacy, will not be in the building tonight, due to a family emergency.

**Kidman vs. Bam Bam Bigelow**

Bigelow enters first, as Tenay reminds everyone that things between The Triad and the "Young Daredevils" Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr. will come to a head at Spring Stampede, as DDP and Kanyon challenge for the Tag Team Titles. Tenay adds that this match was requested by The Triad to try to soften up Kidman prior to the match. After Kidman makes his way to the ring, t e match gets underway, as both men lock up. From there, things continue as could be expected, with Kidman using his speed to combat Bigelow's size and power advantage. Kidman is actually able to knock Bigelow down after a top rope dropkick, but is distracted when he goes back up top by DDP, who comes running down the aisle. This takes Kidman's mind off of the match long enough to Bigelow to pull him down form the top rope and nail him with a Greeting's From Asbury Park for the win.

*After the match, DDP rolls in the ring to try to continue the beating, but soon has to stop as Kidman's partner, Rey Msyterio, Jr. comes down to ringside with a steel chair in hand, running DDP and Bigelow back out of the ring. He checks on Kidman as Page and Bigelow walk back up the aisle with a smug, satisfied look on their faces*

(76/70/83; ***)

Tenay questions if Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr. will make it to the PPV, or if The Triad will take them out beforehand. He then segues into a discussion of the intense rivalry between Booker T and Chris Jericho, which even Dusty admits has been one of the best in recent years. They talk about the great matches the two men have been involved in, including the bloody I Quit match at Uncensored. Tenay then informs everyone that coming up at Spring Stampede, Eric Bischoff has come up with a new type of match, and that it will truly end the feud between Jericho and Booker T once and for all. That match…is the "Ultimate Cage".

**A trip into the Cage**

*After Tenay finishes speaking, a video begins to play, showing flashes of the past few months of matches between Jericho and Booker T. A voice-over begins to speak, narrating some of the highlights of the feud. After these are shown, the narrator intones: "But now, two men will come face to face with a new dimension in brutality. Two men, Chris Jericho and Booker T, will come face to face with the Ultimate Cage.*

*The video then changes to show a huge structure being built. Four steel cage walls are shown, with massive reinforcements on the outside. A roof is then shown, also made with reinforced steel. Finally, the bottom of the cage is shown…Another layer of steel, lifted off the ground two feet by metal rods. The entire structure is made of reinforced steel on every side. A graphic shows that the entire structure is 16 feet high, in addition to two feet of supports that hold the cage off the ground. The cage appears to be fairly larger around than a normal ring. The shot pulls back to reveal the massive structure, as a picture of Jericho and Booker T fades into the foreground, with the words "Spring Stampede: The Ultimate Cage. Two men will enter. One man will leave still standing. Neither will ever be the same."

Our announcers go crazy over the footage just witnessed, as Dusty declares that this may be the most dangerous type of match he's ever heard of. Tenay backs him by, also pointing out that according to Eric Bischoff, the only way to win the match is to beat your opponent until he can no longer answer a ten count. Tenay speculates that this match could very easily cause serious injury for either or BOTH men. Dusty agrees but states that there's one other match he's particularly looking forward to at the PPV, and that's the U.S. Title match featuring Bret Hart defending his title against Chris Benoit. Dusty announces that earlier Bret granted an interview to discuss the match…

**Bret lays it on the line**

*We cut to a pre-taped interview segment, with Bret Hart sitting in a plush looking room on a very nice couch, with rugs and antique looking chairs surrounding him. On a table nearby sits the U.S. title belt. Bret looks into the camera and begins to speak*

Bret Hart: Looks good, doesn't it? Look at it Benoit, just sitting there on that table. I bet you're thinking how good it would look around your waist, aren't you? I'm sure that you can't wait to get in the ring with me and take that belt away from me. In fact, I know exactly what you're thinking right now. You're thinking: Bret Hart can't touch me. Bret Hart can't beat me. Well let me fill you in on something, kid. I didn’t get the nickname "The Excellence of Execution" for no reason. I got that nickname because each and every night I went out and wrestled circles around anybody they put me up against. I earned that nickname by sweating every night in arena after arena, by tying guys up in knots and making them submit. I earned that nickname, Benoit, by proving to everybody in the wrestling business that I AM The Best There Is, The Best There Was, and The Best There Ever Will Be. And I'm not going to let someone like YOU take my title away from me. What, you think just because you trained with my father, that you deserve a shot at me? Let me tell you something Benoit. I talk to my father every week, and when I told him about this match I have against you, you know what he told me? He said "Bret, take a few days off. You don't have to worry. Benoit doesn't have the skill to take you out. Benoit doesn't have the guts to take you out. Benoit doesn't have the BALLS to take you out". And I realized something. He's right. Look Benoit, I'm gonna make this really easy for you. This coming Monday, on Nitro, I've got a non-title match against The British Bulldog. Now, when I get done taking care of business with the Bulldog, I'm gonna give you a chance to save yourself from getting humiliated at Spring Stampede. I'm gonna let you come out to the ring, and in front of all of the fans, I'm gonna give you the chance to look me in the eye and admit that I'm better than you, and that you forfeit your shot at the U.S. Title. It's an easy decision to make Benoit. On one hand, you have to face losing your respect by giving up. On the other hand, you have to face me beating the crap out of you, and STILL losing your respect. It's up to you. I'll see you Monday. Make the right decision.

*With that said, Hart reaches up and turns off the camera, leaving a blank screen for a few moments*

(75%)

The announcers agree that they don't believe that Chris Benoit will be giving up his Title shot against Bret Hart. Dusty adds that Hart is always trying to play mind games, and that he doubts if the conversation Bret claims to have had with his father actually happened. Tenay then announces that coming up next, we'll see the man Bret Hart was speaking of in action, as he takes on Buff Bagwell.

**Chris Benoit vs. Buff Bagwell**

As the two men enter quickly, Tenay reminds everyone of the off and on rivalry these two have had with each other over the past few months, which was generally caused by Bagwell trying to help his "close friend" Chris Jericho out. The two men tear into each other as soon as the bell rings, and trade the advantage back and forth for several minutes Bagwell eventually gains control after a low blow, but is unable to put Benoit away. After missing his patented Buff Blockbuster, Bagwell looks to be ready to be pinned. Before Benoit can go for a big finishing move however, Bret Hart sneaks in form the crowd, jumping in the ring and attacking Chris Benoit! The referee has no choice but to call for the bell, giving the DQ win to Chris Benoit.

*Bagwell joins in the attack on Benoit, as the two men lay some heavy shots into the fallen "Rabid Wolverine". A host of referee's is finally able to pull the two men off, but not before some potentially serious damage is done*

(85/80/90; ***1/2)

Tenay is in shock at the attack by Hart, especially since no one had seen Bret Hart in the building prior in the evening. Dusty questions if Hart was trying to send a message to Benoit that on Monday, if he doesn't forfeit his Title shot, he can expect the same kind of treatment. Tenay agrees that that sounds like something Hart would do, and expresses his concern over Benoit's well being. He then announces that it's finally time for the main event, as Dean Malenko attempts to earn a shot at the Cruiserweight Title at Spring Stampede.

**Eddie Guerrero vs. Dean Malenko**

Dean enters first, to a good reaction from the crowd. As Eddie enters to huge boo's and jeers, Tenay reminds everyone again that if Dean is successful, he WILL face Eddie at Spring Stampede for the Title. He also adds that according to Eddie, if Dean FAILS to win, he will never receive a shot at the Cruiserweight Title. The match itself is, as could be expected from two work class wrestlers, extremely competitive. Neither man can get the advantage for long, with Eddie trying to use his speed and quickness to combat Malenko's more ground based technical offense. In the end, Eddie takes Dean down with a big Brainbuster, and goes up top to finish with a Frog Splash. He misses however, as Malenko rolls out of the way. With Eddie down, Malenko is able to lock in the Texas Cloverleaf, keeping Eddie in the middle of the ring, which gives him no choice but to finally submit, giving Malenko the win, and the Cruiserweight Title shot!

*Dean celebrates briefly with the fans before rolling back out of the ring. After Eddie gets to his feet, he stares around in disbelief, as the fans mock his loss. Eddie becomes furious, and grabs the referee, beginning to beat him down. Before any help can reach the ring, Eddie has lifted the ref up and given HIM a Brainbuster. He then goes up to the top rope and delivers a Frog Splash, obviously making up for the one he missed in the match. Apparently not satisfied, Eddie continues to beat on the now unconscious ref, until more referee's, who also had to intervene after the last match, are able to pull him off*

(94/92/96; ****1/2; Eddie Guerrero lost overness, Dean Malenko gained overness)

Thunder ends as Mike Tenay reminds us to tune into Nitro on Monday for more great WCW action. The final shot of the evening is Eddie Guerrero, still freaking out in the ring, as the fans pelt him with garbage.

Overall: 86%

Wednesday, April 16th

*Busy, busy, busy. That's me today. I've got SO much to do that I honestly don't know where to start. And to top things off, Sophie is down with the flu. Apparently my fairly recent illness worked it's way to her, because she called in with a 103 degree fever. Not good. But on the bright side, she DID get her cousin Mindy to run down the usual ratings and such. Of course, on the DOWN side, Mindy doesn't know a THING about wrestling, so she's not much help to me as far as bouncing ideas around. and also, SHE WON'T LEAVE!*

Mindy: *Wandering around my office* This is a really cool office. I like your furniture. It's really coordinated in a neat way.

Me: Um, thanks Mindy. I appreciate that. Hey, did you happen to bring that paper that Sophie said she was gonna give you?

Mindy: What? Oh yeah, the paper. It's here somewhere...

*As she says this, she starts to rummage around in her purse. Man, it's a good thing she'e cute, because otherwise...*

Mindy: Here ya go sweetie.

Me: Yeah, thanks Mindy. Let's see here...hmm, looks like the approval rating is back up. 86%. THAT'S a relief.

Mindy: Is it? I wasn't sure if that was good or not. I mean, it's like, a B, isn't it?

Me: Yes it is, but that's a really good rating for this kind of thing.

Mindy: If you say so. Hey, Sophie told me to make sure you checked out the TV rating or something.

Me: Already done. A 2.10 isn't QUITE what I was hoping for. It's down some, and that's not a good thing going into a big PPV. But Nitro was strong, and that rating isn't awful either, so maybe there was something else going on that took away some of our audience.

Mindy: I bet I know what it was.

Me: *Arching an eyebrow* You do? And what do you think it was, Mindy?

Mindy: Well duh, the figure skating championship was that night.

Me: Of course. Figure skating and Wrestling share SUCH a common audience. Good thought. I'll keep that in mind. Hey Mindy, as much as I'm enjoying this sparkling conversation, I really have a lot of work to do.

Mindy: Ok, go ahead. I'll try not to make any noise.

Me: Actually, I prefer to work ALONE. So, if you don't mind...

Mindy: Well, I guess I can go and work out or something. Sophie said there's a really great gym somewhere around here. Can I use that?

Me: Sure. It's on the 2nd floor. Ask the lady at the front desk for directions. And Mindy, thanks for bringing this by. When you see Sophie tell her...I miss her.

Mindy: You miss her? I thought she was your assistant. But saying you MISS her...You like her, don't you?

Me: What? Mindy, I'm a married man, alright?

Mindy: Yeah, whatever, you like her. Hey, I don't blame you. She's cute. If I wasn't related to her, well...

Me: As intriguing as that thought may be, I REALLY need to get back to work. Thanks again Mindy. And tell Sophie that I miss her, in a BUSINESS sense.

Mindy: Sure ya do. No prob, I'll tell her. Buh bye.

Me: Bye Mindy.

*Mindy exits, shutting the door behind her. MAN am I glad that's over with. Mindy's nice and all, and very attractive, but we have NOTHING in common. Not at ALL like me and Sophie. But back to work...of course, now I can't get the thought of Sophie and Mindy out of my head. Not complaining of course, but still...*

OOC: This Nitro was done in a "short form" kinda like Thunder, due to some personal issues at the time I wrote it.

Monday, April 19th:

Nitro!

*As we open tonights edition of Nitro!, a video plays showing the events of the past several weeks, especially focusing on events pertaining to the upcoming Spring Stampede Pay-Per-View. The final shot of the evening is a superimposition of the men involved in the main event, 6-man tag team match at the PPV-Sabu, Tommy Dreamer, Raven, Vader, Sting…and the World Champion, Goldberg*

*Pyro! Explodes and 10,041 people come to their feet as Nitro comes live to the air. We are taken immediately to ringside with our hosts for the evening, "The Professor" Mike Tenay, and Dave Meltzer.*

Tenay and Meltzer begin by discussing the PPV coming up in just a few days, running down the card that has been finalized by Eric Bischoff. Tenay notes that the anticipation for the 6man main event is getting to the same level as before Bash at the Beach in '96, as no one in the WCW organization knows what to expect. Meltzer speculates that in some ways, he's more worried about what Raven might be able to do to WCW, because, as he puts it…"Raven is crazy, plain and simple. And he's going to do anything it takes to get what he wants out of WCW". With that, Tenay informs everyone that it'st ime for our first match of the night…

**Dean Malenko vs. Psicosis**

As the two men make their way to the ring, our announcers talk about how this match-up was made at the request of Eddie Guerrero, ostensibly to keep Dean "warmed-up" for his match. According to Tenay, Eric Bischoff granted Eddie's request for "unknown reasons". As the match begins, Dean attempts to focus on a ground attack, while Psicosis goes for higher impact, flying moves. Eventually though, Malenko is able to wear Psicosis down, and looks to finish him with a Texas Cloverleaf. Before he can apply the hold however, Cruiserweight Champion Eddie Guerrero runs into the ring and nails both men, causing the referee to throw the match out.

*Eddie continues his assault, nailing both men with his Cruiserweight Title belt until Malenko is busted open. Psicosis is thrown out of the ring, as Eddie grabs a mic and paces above the fallen Cruiserweight challenger*

(82/72/93; ***1/4)

**Eddie speaks on things, essa**

Eddie Guerrero: *Holding a mic to his mouth* Hey, hey, what's the matter essa? Huh? What's wrong, huh? Isn't this what you wanted man? You wanted to be all up in my business, you wanted the Cruiserweight Title, right? Well I just GAVE you the Title essa, and I wanna know? How did you like it, huh essa? Listen essa vato, I hope you enjoyed feeling that title belt when it slammed into your skull man, because that's the closest you're EVER gonna get to MY Cruiserweight Title. At Spring Stampede, I'm gonna take you out, pin you, and when I'm done essa, when I'm done.., I'm gonna SPIT on your grave man. I'll see YOU at the Pay-Per-View.

*Eddie throws the mic down, delivering one final kick to Malenko as he walks out of the ring, the fans booing him mercilessly*

(90%)

Tenay can't help but show his disgust for Eddie's actions, stating "I hope Eddie Guerrero is ready for the PPV because I have a feeling Dean Malenko is going to out for blood himself". Meltzer backs up Eddie, saying that Eddie is just doing what great champions always do, and that's try to win the mental battle before the physical battle is fought. Tenay then segueways (still the king) into a discussion on the U.S. Title match at Spring Stampede, addressing the comments made on Thunder by Bret Hart concerning Chris Benoit. He wonders if Benoit will come out and answer Hart face to face after Bret challenged him to come out and concede the match. Meltzer explains that the only way for Tenay to find out is to be quiet, because Hart is coming out next for his non-title match against the British Bulldog.

**Bret Hart vs. The British Bulldog**

As The Bulldog comes to the ring, Tenay reviews the history between Bulldog and Bret Hart, noting especially that this won't be the first time these two men have met in the ring. Hart slowly enters the ring, seemingly oblivious to the jeers from the crowd. The two men take some time to lock up, but go at it back and forth once the action finally begins. Hart manages to keep the Bulldog off of his feet with his technical skills, but almost loses when the Bulldog catches him with a series of clothesline, followed by a delayed vertical suplex. Hart pull out the win however, when he goes into his tights and grabs a paid of brass knuckles, nailing the Bulldog right between the eyes when the referee isn't looking. Hart then covers and picks up the three count.

*Hart looks to be trying to inflict more damage on the Bulldog, only to be stopped when Chris Benoit comes down the aisle. Bret immediately backs up, but only far enough to grab a mic. He then turns and walks up right to Benoit's face*

(86/84/88; ***1/2)

**Bret's challenge**

Bret Hart: Well, well, well. If it isn't Chris Benoit. Hey, Benoit, I've got to give you some credit. I didn't think you had the guts to come out here tonight and forfeit the match to me face to face. I thought you'd chicken out and maybe hide in the back until I left. I'm glad to see that you learned a LITTLE respect for this business when you were training with my father. So go ahead Benoit, say what you came out here to say. Go ahead and admit, in front of all of these fans, that you're a worthless, gutless coward, who knows that he doesn't belong in the same ring with "The Best There Is, The Best There Was, and The Best There Ever Will Be". Go ahead, Benoit. Say it.

*He hands the mic to Benoit, who takes it, looking around at the fans, before finally looking Hart right in the eyes and speaking*

Chris Benoit: I'll see you at Spring Stampede.

*Benoit then throws the mic back in Hart's face, before walking off to the cheers of the crowd. Hart fumes in the ring, slowly shaking his head at Benoit's "mistake".*

(84%)

We cut back to the announcers, who don't seem surprised at Benoit's reaction. As Tenay says, "Benoit isn't going to back down from anyone, especially when he has a shot at a major WCW Title." Meltzer then introduces our next segment, a special sit down interview conducted by Scott Hudson with the participants of the upcoming Ultimate Cage match for the Television Title, Chris Jericho and Booker T. The interview apparently begins tonight with Chris Jericho.

**Chris Jericho, face to face**

*We cut to the pre-taped interview, showing Jericho on camera, with Scott Hudson just out of camera range asking questions*

Scott Hudson: First off, Chris, I want to thank you for agreeing to be a part of this interview, and wish you good luck in your upcoming match for the Television Title at Spring Stampede.

Chris Jericho: Yeah, thanks Hudson, that means SO much to me. By the way, call me MR. Jericho, if you don't mind.

SH: Um, very well, Mr. Jericho. Let's start right in with the first question. What are your feelings on the structure that has been devised for your match with Booker T, The Ultimate Cage.

CJ: My thoughts? What do you think my thoughts are? That thing isn't anything more than a torture device. And frankly, I'm disgusted that WCW is going to put one of its biggest stars into that kind of situation.

SH: Speaking on that issue, what's your strategy for taking Booker T out for the ten count inside the cage.

CJ: Well Scooter, I could sit here all night and tell you what I'm going to do to Booker T inside that cage. But I don't want any of the morons watching this thing to have any idea what they're going to be seeing at the PPV. I will say this though. Booker T is in for a surprise. Because I've been working on a new move that he's going to get to be the first to feel.

SH: Any hints on what it's going to be?

CJ: Wait until the PPV Hudson.

SH:I'm sure that Booker T will be waiting as well Mr. Jericho. One last question. I've heard some fans and commentators wonder why you seem to be so obsessed with the Television Title. Can you comment on what it is that's driving you to continue to go after this belt?

CJ: Hudson, you finally asked a decent question. What makes me want to go after the TV Title so much? Let me tell you something Scooter. When I first began my career, I was like a thousand other wanna-be wrestlers out there. I came out and jumped around, trying to the fans approval, trying to put on the best show I could, trying to make the big time promotions notice me. But did they? No Hudson, they said I was "too small", or didn't have "the right look" for their promotion. Did it matter that I could wrestle circles around everyone on their roster? Don't be stupid. All they wanted me to do was go out and make those big overgrown stiffs look good in the ring. So I left. I went to Japan. And I finally got a little respect. Those people recognized what REAL talent was. But it wasn't enough. No matter how respected I might become in Japan, I could never be what I really wanted to be. An international superstar. So I came back to the U.S. And after wrestling for some more "extreme" promotions that I wasn't comfortable with, I signed with WCW. And even though I was promised a chance to be a big star, even though I was told I would get to wrestle in main events, what happened to me? The same damn thing that happened every time before. But this time, I wasn't going to sit back and watch WCW mis-use one of the best combinations of talent, charisma, and pure sex appeal that they had ever seen. So I decided to take matters into my own hands. And that's where the TV Title comes in. You see Hudson, the TV Title for me is more than just a belt. It's a belt that's been held by some of the greatest WCW stars of the past, sure. But for me, that belt is a step forward. For me, that belt brings me one inch closer to achieving my ultimate dream. And no one, not Booker T, not the fans, not ANYBODY, is going to stop me this time.

*The interview closes with a shot at Jericho's face, looking extremely focused and intense*

(87%)

Our commentators discuss the intensity Jericho showed in his interview, and also speculate as to what this new move he plans to debut could be. Tenay says that all he's been able to uncover is that Jericho will apparently be calling the move the "Lion's Roar". Before he can speculate any further, we are taken back to the backstage area, where apparently something is going down.

**The Triad attacks**

As we cut to the back, the scream of a young woman can be heard. We soon see the reason for this, as The Triad has attacked Tag Team Champions Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr., along with their manager Stacy. DDP is holding Stacy against the wall as Bigelow and Kanyon brutalize Kidman and Rey with a pair of steel chairs, as well as various items strewn around the backstage area. DDP shoves Stacy hard against the wall, before nailing a Diamond Cutter onto the concrete on both Kidman and Rey! He then walks back over to Stacy, grabbing her back up and giving her a harsh kiss, before letting her drop to the floor again. The Triad high fives as they walk away.

(81%)

Tenay is in shock as we rejoin our announcers, while Meltzer joins in by stating that this is "Just another attack in a series of them by The Triad. The Tag Team Champions have got to figure out some way to protect themselves, or they won't MAKE it to Spring Stampede." Tenay takes a few moments to recover from what he just witnessed, before throwing us back to the ring for our next match of the night.

**Chris Daniels/Booker T vs. Chris Jericho/Kurt Angle**

Both teams enter the ring separately, with Booker T being the last to come down the ramp. While this is occurring, Tenay and Meltzer give a brief history of the feud between Booker T and Jericho, which will culminate inside the Ultimate Cage at Spring Stampede. E also reviews Chris Daniels' challenge to Kurt Angle for a match, which springs from Daniels recent LESS than fair loss to Angle. The match begins with a quick pace, with all four men going at it at various times. The action goes back and forth, with neither team able to maintain an advantage for very long. In end, Booker and Daniels pick up the win when Jericho is nailed by an errant Angle clothesline, which gives Booker T enough time to catch Angle with an Axe Kick, followed by a Top Rope Missile Dropkick for the pinfall.

*The action continues even after the bell rings though, as all four men go right back after each other. As referee's come out to try to separate the four, they brawl towards the back, eventually making their way behind the curtain and out of sight*

(91/88/94; ****1/4)

Meltzer expresses his opinion that either of those two matches could steal the show at the PPV, but wonders if Daniels and Booker will be able to overcome their more ruthless foes. Tenay announces that at this time, we have to cut away again, as Raven has requested time to speak.

**Quote the Raven…**

*We cut back to what appears to be…a funeral home? Raven sits atop a casket, with Sabu and Tommy Dreamer standing menacingly in the background*

Raven: Soon and very soon, we are going to see the king. Soon and very soon…Soon and very, very soon, WCW is going to meet it's maker. Soon, all of WCW will know my master plan. For very soon, they will be here. And after their glorious coming, nothing in WCW will remain the same. Tonight, a new chapter in pain will be written, as Sabu enters the ring for the first time against a WCW opponent, Hak. Hak, you are no stranger to this man behind me. You know the pain he is capable of inflicting each night. But what you do not know Hak, is that tonight, he will stop only when he sees your broken, bloody body beneath him. But my message is also directed to one man- Bill Goldberg. Goldberg, tonight you will see what awaits you inside the ring at Spring Stampede. Vader, Sting, your fate too will be decided in a few mere days. And soon, my pain…OUR pain…will be YOURS. Quote the Raven…Nevermore.

*Raven stands and walks from the room, as Sabu and Dreamer silently follow*

(88%)

Tenay talks again about how worried he is that Raven and his cronies may have something huge up their sleeves. Meltzer is concerned with this as well, but also wonders if that funeral home is close by, since Sabu's match against Hardcore Hak, is coming up NEXT!

**Sabu vs. Hardcore Hak**

As Hak makes his way to the ring, Tenay reminds everyone that the match is being conducted under Raven's Rules, meaning that anything goes. Hak looks around expectantly for Sabu, as does the audience. Hak raises his hands, yelling for Sabu to show himself. Sabu soon obliges, sliding form under the ring (!) and attacking Hak form behind with a chair. The match is totally dominated by Sabu, as he uses various hardcore implements, including chairs, the outside guardrail, tables, and even a baseball bat pulled from under the ring to take Hak down. Finally, he finishes the match with help from Raven, who slides into the ring and takes Hak down with a huge chairshot. Sabu then comes off of the top rope with a chair-assisted Arabian Facebuster. Since the match is Raven's Rules, the referee has no choice but to count the three, giving Sabu a victory in his first WCW match.

*Raven looks to be telling Sabu to continue the beating, but is soon stopped, as the crowd comes to its feet. The reason is soon clear, as Vader comes lumbering down to the ring, apparently ready for a fight. Raven orders Sabu to get Hak out of the ring, and meets Vader as he comes through the ropes…*

(64/48/81; **)

Tenay and Meltzer announce that they have just receive word from the back that apparently Vader was ordered down to the ring for a MATCH with Raven, as Bischoff wants to, as Tenay states "…take care of Raven before he can cause any more problems this evening".

**Raven vs. Vader**

As the two men lock up, the ring announcer comes over the intercom to announce that this IS an official match, also conducted by under Raven's Rules. The two tear into each other viciously, with mostly stiff punches and kicks being used, mixed in with equally hard weapons shots. Vader tries to take Raven out early, but is unable to, as Raven uses his experience in more "extreme" federations to his advantage. Finally, after several minutes of this action, Raven catches Vader in the stomach with a chair, which doubles him over. This gives Raven a chance to deliver an Evenflow DDT ONTO THE CHAIR, which is more than enough for Raven to pick up the 3 count.

*Sabu and Dreamer (who apparently had already joined Sabu on the outside) re-enter the ring and stand alongside their apparent leader. Before anything else can happen however…the lights go out*

(84/83/85; ***1/4)

**It's SHOWTIME, FOLKS!**

*As Tenay and Meltzer wonder what's going on, the darkness is suddenly broken by a spotlight which hits on top of the WCW logo above the entrance ramp. Standing there is none other than STING! He holds a mic up to his mouth and begins to talk…*

Sting: GUESS WHO! That's right, I'm baaaaaaack. And believe me, I'm DEFINITELY back in black and better than ever. Well, now what do we have here? I see three guys standing together, looking like a bunch of jack-asses ready to be whipped. And I'm just the guy to do it. Sabu, Dreamer, Raven, I'm not stupid enough to come down there right now, because even though I'm not afraid of any of you, I also don't TRUST any of you. Now, you may think you've got WCW right where you want us, but THINK AGAIN. Me and Vader, not to mention big Goldberg, can't WAIT to get you three punks in the ring. At that's just what's gonna happen at Spring Stampede. Meanwhile though, I think if you three will take a look behind you, you'll see that it's DEFINITELY SHOWTIME FOOOLKS!

*The lights come back up as Raven turns, only to be taken down HARD by a huge Spear from World Champion Goldberg! Goldberg drives Raven into the mat, rolling out before Sabu and Dreamer have a chance to react. As Goldberg backs slowly up the aisle, he is joined by a recovered Vader. The two men, along with Sting, stare at their opponents inside the ring as Raven pulls himself to his feet*

(81%)

As the show goes to close, Tenay and Meltzer are going crazy, wondering what to expect at Spring Stampede. Tenay reminds everyone to tune in for Thunder on Thursday, and to order the PPV, as it's going to be huge. He closes with his usual "Good night everybody!"

*Our last shot if the evening shows a sick smile spreading across the face of Raven, as he stares back at the trio of men at the entrance*

Overall: 83

I have to say that Nitro was a really good 'build-up' show. It didn't really break a lot of new ground but it definitely put everything in place for the PPV. I'm sure Thunder will sort out the final detials. You definitely put together a solid PPV and it has been hyped appropriately. I'm very intrigued to see where Raven and his stable will go. It's nice to see a fresh face on top of the WCW '99 main event scene. I feel Raven should have always been pushed a little harder in WCW. Raven is always perfect as the leader of some psychotic gang. Not sure if I would order a PPV headlined by a six man but the undercard is truly solid. I think I'm more excited about what the future after Spring Stampede holds.

The only thing that seemed to bother me was the Sting promo. It just didn't seem like Sting to me. It lacked that certian 'it'. Most of the other interviews were done pretty well. I look forward to Spring Stampede and see what you've got to offer.

Spring Stampede was possibly the real WCW's best show in 99, but I got a hunch that you can do better than they did with it.

I'm still waiting for when Stevie attempts to join the Extreme Group, and an Evenflow. Just because, it's Raven, and, y'know, he's Stevie.

Tuesday, April 20th:

*Thank God. That's about all I can say right now, is Thank God. Thank God for lot's of things of course, but foremost, because Sophie is FINALLY well, which means she's back. Of course, my jubilation may not last, because judging by the look on her face we may be in for some less than great news. Guess I'll find out shortly*

Me: First off, let me just say, I am SO glad to have you back Sophie. The past week has been REALLY difficult without you.

Sophie: Thanks, I appreciate that. But it seems so weird to be here. I mean, I know it's only been a week, but it feels like it's been FOREVER since we've been here.

Me: I know what you mean. But hey, with this job, sometimes one DAY can feel like a whole week. So, whatcha got for me today?

Sophie: Well, mixed news. Some good, some bad…

Me: Um, yeah, that's generally what mixed news means Sophie. Just kidding. So how do things look?

Sophie: Nice to see you missed me so much. What's with the sarcastic abuse?

Me: Hey, some people like to be abused.

Sophie: *blushing* Well not me. Try my cousin for that kind of thing.

Me: Oh REALLY? Hmm…I think I'd rather try you. Just kidding again. Anyway…

Sophie: Anyway? Oh right, the ratings. Well, the approval rating was decent. 83%. Might would have been even higher, but I get the feeling from our comment cards that folks thought there might have been a touch too much talking and not quite enough wrestling.

Me: Yeah, I know, I know. I got that feeling myself watching last night. The whole show went great I thought, but I'm the kind of fan who likes to see some ACTION.

Sophie: Me too. By the way, I like that you still consider yourself a fan. I think that helps the product out a lot.

Me: Hey, what can I say? At heart, I'm just as much a mark as that "Informer" guy that interviewed me that one time. But you said you had mixed news. I've heard the good (I think), now what's the flip side?

Sophie: Well, the TV rating was slightly down. Not enough to make the networks worry, but I know you wanted a big push into the PPV.

Me: Great, just what I needed. What was it?

Sophie: 6.97.

Me: What? That's a fairly good-sized drop from where we were last week! What happened?

Sophie: Only thing I can think of is ice-skating…

Me: Sophie, just like I told your cousin, I doubt out audiences cross over that much…

Sophie: That's not what I mean. What I MEANT, is that sometimes TV stations will choose not to cover wrestling when an event like this figure skating championship is on. I'll have to double check, but I BET that was what happened last night. So the same number of people would have tuned in, but couldn't because they couldn't get a channel that was showing it.

Me: Hmm, that makes sense. At the very least, let's get Mr. Turner and the network to buy into THAT theory. Sophie, I'm nervous.

Sophie: What? Why are you nervous?

Me: Well, just with what we have planned for this Sunday. I mean, it's a pretty big deal, at least for me, and I just want things to go right. I need your honest opinion. Do you think it's gonna work?

Sophie: Let me put it this way. If I didn't, I'd have walked out that door as soon as you brought the idea up the first time. This is a career for me too, and I don't want to have the bottom fall out from under me.

Me: Aww Sophie, and here I thought you were in it for my charm and good looks.

Sophie: *blushing again* Well, that doesn't hurt either.

Me: Ahem, changing the subject before my ego swells any more, let me congratulate you on how you handled the sit-down interview with Jericho. I thought it went VERY well.

Sophie: Thanks. The interview with Booker T is almost ready, and I think it's just as good. I'm really proud of both pieces.

Me: You should be, you should be. Sophie, I just wanted to tell you again, I'm REALLY glad you're back. I didn't like knowing that you were sick, and especially not knowing that in all probability, I'm the one who gave it to you.

Sophie: Thanks. But listen, there's no one else I would rather get it from than you. *blushing hard* Wait, that's not as bad as it sounds…Oh, nevermind.

*With that, Sophie grabs her papers and rushes form the room, leaving me alone again, naturally. Maybe it's just me, but I really don't know what's going on between Sophie and me right now. Aw well, who knows? Women, right? Right!*
