Every Metallica album is way overhyped IMO. Megadeth and Pantera do that whole thrash thing better. Saying that, I own Puppets and Ride the Lightning from when I was like 12, which aren't bad - just over rated. Everything else is meh to bad.

So Lightning or Puppets.

I liked St Anger, I thought it was a decent release considering I didnt expect much at all. But the Black Album in my mind was a pile of shit. A steaming pile of shit. Enter Sandman has to be the most overrated metal song of all time. Wherever I may roam is fucking repetitive, and the rest is mediocre at best.

And Pantera = Groove Metal my rear iris.

And Mustaine wrote parts of some of the songs on Ride The Lightning, btw. Ever notice that the song Ride The Lightning sounds more like Megadeth than Metallica?

Hard to decide... but I will go with Ride the Lightning, and then Black followed by and Justice for All then Master of the Puppets.

I second the Kill'em All motion, and wonder who the fuck could say they don't like Megadeth's vocals and be able to stand Hetfield. Hetfield is very ugh, but then again, I can only stand Hammet.

Simply because of Anesthesia. It's not that hard to play, but god damn it sounds great.

Seek and destroy is also one of my Metallica favorites.

It's not that I felt they were similar, it's more that I love Mustaine's vocals and despise everything about Hetfield's voice. Was afraid i'd prolly give off the "Hetfield sounds like Mustaine" vibe but never bothered to fix it.

Ride the Lightning easilly tops the list for me. I can't really pick what comes in second since that varys on a day to day basis for me, but Ride the Lightning has always remained at number 1 in my book.
