WWF Royal Rumble preview and news

More talent in the CASW

Louie Spicolli and Chris Walker where sent down to Connecticut All Star Wrestling to further develop their skills. They join Savio Vega and Mike Awesome who where signed to developmental deals this past week. Awesome had been working for the USWA and Vega was working for WWC under the name "TNT", some sort of martial arts ninja with face paint that had a hot feud with The Great Muta.

Talent coming in and talent going out?

Rumors circulate that the WWF have had conversations with Bob Backlund about a return to the promotion and also with Tiger Mask who is a former WWF Lightweight Champion in Japan. They are the two biggest names that headline a list that the WWF is studying as possible new talents.

In other news, "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin will loose 8 months with a knee injury, but is expected to return to the main roster and be jobbed out of the promotion as soon as he heals. The same thing holds true with Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and The Honky Tonk Man, who are in their final months of contract. Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov are also considered jobbers by this point and their contracts are likely to be terminated soon. Al Perez is in the dog house for his constant no selling and is expected to be cut soon, while Tim Horner has gone from promising lower midcarder to jobber without future.

The Warlord is expected to return from injury in a few months and is going to be given a chance at getting over as a singles wrestler, similiar to The Barbarian. Warlord's new attire looks to be an axe with black armor and half helmet/facemask.

The Red Rooster is expected to receive a gimmnick change soon and be pushed.

Ben Jordan, who debuted as a jobber this past week is expected to be sent to the CASW soon, since the WWF feels he has the talent to be a valuable asset in the future.

Royal Rumble preview by the "artastic" Art Rodriguez

For the first time since it's debut, the Royal Rumble will have a purpose, to determine the next victim for Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania VI. Let's take a look at the card.

The Royal Rumble match

It seems that the Rumble this year has only three possible winners. Mr. Perfect has been pushed as the favorite with his Perfect Challenge and long winstreak. People hate him and he is good foil for a match with Hogan. The second favorite is Haku, who also has a singles match with Hogan on the card. Beating Hogan after a turn from Andre and winning the Royal Rumble after coming in at #30 seem to put him in a good position for such a match. The third possible winner is The Ultimate Warrior. If Hogan is going to leave wrestling forever and concentrate on making movies like many people rumor, Warrior could be his sucessor as the top face of the promotion and a showdown between Warrior and Hogan will draw a lot of money. But I am going with the net favorite here.

Winner: Mr. Perfect

Non-title singles match with Andre the Giant as the special referee:

Hulk Hogan vs Haku

How stupid it is to have a non-title match on PPV? But this likely means that Haku is going to win this match, possibly with Andre turning on Hogan again.

Winner: Haku

Flag Match:

The Rockers vs The New Zealand Sheepherders

Everybody is talking about this feud. This is the reason I tune in week in and week out. If The Hart Foundation win the tag team title tournament like everybody thinks they will, I see the Sheepherders winning this feud and going to Wrestlemania to challenge the champions.

Winners: The Sheepherders

WWF Tag Team Title Tournament Quater Finals:

The Young Stallions vs Dino Bravo & Earthquake

Demolition vs Bad Company

Seems pretty clear that Bravo and Earthquake are getting pushed and this means that they will squash the Stallions. Demolition and Bad Company is harder to predict, but I guess the Demos will win it since they wont set a heel vs heel matchup in the semis.

Winners: Bravo & Earthquake, Demolition

WWF Royal Rumble

January 22 1990 from the Great Western Forum in Los Angeles!!

PPV

Brought to you by Sports Illustrated!! Hulk Hogan "Hulkamania running wild" interview in this months edition, avalible on newstands everywhere!!

Announcers: Vince McMahon and Jesse "The Body" Ventura

Dark Match:

Big Bossman/with Slick d. The Red Rooster (3:32)

Quick opening bout to get the crowd going before the show started. The people are really getting behind the Bossman angle as the "He is Akeem" chants where pretty loud. Bossman just pounded Rooster without mercy and won with the Bossman Slam.

Winner: Big Bossman(OR:68 CR:61 MQ: 75)

WWF Tag Team Title Quaterfinals:

Dino Bravo & Earthquake d. The Young Stallions (6:55)

The PPV kicks off with this fairly long match. Powers and Bravo started and inmediatly Bravo overpowered him into the corner. Powers was your face in peril and Bravo wasted some time in a bearhug. Powers made the comeback two minutes into the match and made the tag to Paul Roma. Roma came in as the house on fire and managed to knock down Bravo, but Earthquake came in illegally and knocked his momentum off. Bravo then gave Roma a side suplex and tagged in Quake. Roma was no selling most of the attacks and Quake got pissed off for real, nailing him with what looked to be a legit right hand and Roma staggered. Stupid Roma, how can you refuse to sell for a guy that has at least 300 pounds of advantage over you? It seems that Vince McMahon got pissed off for real because the referee went over to Quake, then Bravo and then Powers and apparently told them to go home already, cutting the match short. So Quake went to the corner and dragged Powers into the ring as Bravo came in as well. Bravo nailed Roma with the Side Suplex as Quake bodyslammed Powers on top of Roma and nailed both men with the Aftershock for the win. The heels celebrate their destruction and are received by a chorus of boos.

Winners: Bravo & Earthquake(OR:62 CR:60 MQ:64)

WWF Tag Team Title Quaterfinals:

Demolition d. Bad Company (9:45)

Good idea to give this match the extra time that was left from the previous bout. This tournament has produced some high quality matches and this one was one of them. Smash and Diamond start and pound the shit out of each other with some stiff strikes. Diamond ducks a clothesline and springs back with an elbow and Smash is your face in peril. Diamond unloads the Haku-Fu, or plenty of chops and throat thrusts while yelling. Tag to Tanaka and he knocks Smash down with a sidekick. More chops and the CLAWHOLD!!! Kerry Von Erich most be pissed off that somebody is using his lethal resthold. Smash fights out of it and goes for the tag, but Tanaka runs over and bulldogs him for two. He drags Smash to the center of the ring and legdrops his arm, then locks an armbar, which makes sense psycology wise because of the previous work with the clawhold I guess. He tags in Diamond who comes in with a senton on Smash's arm and then locks the arm bar again. Back to their feet and Diamond busts out a Japaneese Arm Drag and then starts stomping the arm. McMahon in his usual exageration says that Smash's arm has to be broken in three parts, as we go back to the arm bar. Smash fights out again and this time knocks down Diamond with a shoulderblock(with the good arm) and tags in Ax. Clotheslines for everyone!!! Diamond to the ropes and BAAAAAACK Bodydrop!! The same for Tanaka!! Ax is fighting alone as Smash sells the arm. This proves to be too much as Tanaka clips Ax from behind and he falls to his knees, into a dropkick to the face by Diamond. Double hip toss by the heels, but Smash recovers and it's BONZO GONZO at 8 minutes or so. The faces pound the heels into opposite corners and then whip them face first into each other and Ax rolls Diamond for two. Smash dumps Tanaka and they go for Demolition Decapitation on Diamond, but Smash's arm is too hurt for him to hold Diamond in position. So Ax does it himself by doing a Twisted Elbow DDT (Decapitation Elbow) and pinning Diamond. The Demos celebrate as the crowd pops.

Winners: Demolition(OR:78 CR:63 MQ:93)

Rockers vs Sheepherders video

A video airs detailing all the events between The Rockers and The New Zealand Sheepherders that led to this match tonight.

(80%)

Flag Match:

The New Zealand Sheepherders d. The Rockers(22:33)

Mean Gene Okerlund explains the rule to this match. Both flags, the USA falg for the Rockers and the New Zealand flag for the Sheepherders are suspended on a pole in a neutral corner. Both teams have a pole in their corner as well. To win the match, the team needs to retrieve their flag from a neutral corner, put it in the pole in their corner and raise it for the world to see. No disqualification and all 4 men are in at once.

Big brawl breaks out as the bell rings and the faces are dominating. Butch and Luke bail quickly and the Rockers celebrate. They fake a dive as Butch, Luke and Brother Love move away, but it was all a fake to get them to run as the faces try to climb the pole and retrieve their flag. Butch and Luke run back in and pule them down as the brawl continues. Shawn goes to the ropes for momentum, but Brother Love pulls his foot and Shawn turns around to jaw with him, allowing Butch to dump him from behind. The heels double team Marty and then dump him trough the middle rope. Butch and Luke now try to retrieve their flag, but Shawn runs in and dropkicks Luke in the back, sending him face first aganist the pole, the pole shakes from the impact and Butch loses his grip, falling down as well. Marty pulls Butch from the apron and out and they brawl. Marty reverses a whip and sends Butch back first into the guardrail. In the ring, Shawn slaps Luke several times angering him and he charges in rage, only for Shawn to lower the rope and he falls outside. Marty is back in and the Rockers make a plan. Shawn runs at Marty and Marty allley oops him to the pole and Shawn is almost there!!! Brother Love gets on the apron and shakes the pole, but Marty knocks him down. He gained some time tough, and Butch is able to come in and knock Shawn from the pole and to the outside in a sick bump. Luke comes in as well and they dump Marty as well. The Sheepherders try the same alley oop strategy, but their lack of agility makes them fall down to the crowd's amusement and they get really pissed off now. They go outside and really start laying into the faces to take their anger out. Butch sends Shawn head first into the post and he is busted open. Marty takes a seat as Luke whips him into the guardrail and he falls into the crowd. Butch and Luke head back into the ring and Luke climbs the pole. With the faces seemingly out of action, they retrieve their flag. They head to their corner and try to put their flag into place, but a bloody Shawn dives into them with a Flying Crossbody and takes them out. Their flag is in the middle of the ring. Marty climbs the neutral pole in search of the american flag and manages to retrieve it, but Butch knocks him down from the pole and to the outside. Marty has the american flag with him. The heels take a bloody Shawn and give him the Batterin Ram and this seems to be over as Butch and Luke set their flag into place and start to raise it, but Marty gets into the apron and knocks them down with a springboard missile dropkick. However, the heel flag is on place and the heels just need to raise it. Shawn recovers and he single handledly fights off the heels as Marty sets the american flag on place. The numbers game is too much and the heels dump Shawn and then knock Marty from behind. Both flags are on place and the first one to rise it will win the bout. The heels waste some time jawing with the fans and Shawn gets back into the ring(you can barely see his blonde hair in between the red blood that has covered it) and it's BONZO GONZO again. 4 men chaos in the ring. Brother Love gets on the apron and starts rising the heel flag behind the ref's back!!!! The flag is 3/4 of the way by the time Marty stops him. The heels then dump Shawn and nail the Battering Ram on Marty, Luke goes to the corner and finishes raising the flag for the win.

The Sheepherders celebrate their triumph, but Shawn and Marty manage to recover and chase them away. Shawn is clearly stumbling around due to the blood loss. Marty raises the american flag as Shawn lowers the heel flag(with obvious but unseen help from the ref since Shawn barely knows where he is standing) and the faces salute the american flag to the crowd's applause.

Winners: The New Zealand Sheepherders(OR:80 CR:81 MQ:78)

Hogan/Andre/Haku video

A video airs detailing the story of the Andre/Haku feud. Then it shows some of the story between Hogan and Andre and their past battles and problems, which hint at the turn.

(83%)

Special Referee Andre the Giant:

Hulk Hogan d. Haku (5:21)

Andre looks weird in that super sized referee attire. Hogan and Haku lock horns and Haku dominates with a cheapshot and Andre warns him. Haku just stares Andre down before knocking Hogan down with a series of throat thrusts and a sidekick of sorts. Hogan attacks the abdomen, but Haku eye gouges him and gets a second warning from Andre. Now Haku blatantly throws Hogan over the top rope and gets a third warning. This time Andre and Haku get on a verbal exchange and Haku low blows Andre!!! Haku unloads his attacks on the big fella and brings him to his knees before giving him the Thrust Kick!! Hogan recovers and gets into the ring, knocking Haku down with right hands and the big boot. Hogan helps pull Andre to his feet and this is where everybody expected the turn....Andre shoves Hogan!!!....but it was to move him away from an oncoming Thrust Kick from Haku. Andre grabs Haku by the throat and headbutts him!!! The hard headed Haku feels that one and grabs his head as Hogan knocks him with the Big Boot. Running Legdrop and Andre counts the one, two, three!!! He raises Hogan's hand and they hug. Andre then calls for the mic:

Andre: "Haku!! That was just the beginning. Hogan is helping me train and I am feeling great. The only thing I can tell you Haku is....see you at Wrestlemania VI!!!"

The crowd pops for that as "Real American" blares over the speakers and the faces celebrate.

Winner: Hulk Hogan(OR:85 CR:84 MQ:86)

WWF news and rumors

-Queen Sherri, Al Perez, Boris Zhukov and Nikolai Volkoff where all released from their WWF contracts following the Rumble. Sherri was not being used since Savage started appearing alone for interviews and the WWF felt they had too many managers under contract. She left on good terms and a return at some point is not out of the question. Perez, Zhukov and Volkoff where all in the dog house for no selling and failing to cooperate in matches. The WWF practically closed the door on them and it is unlikely that they will return any time soon.

- It is expected that feuds and storylines will begin using the Rumble eliminations as the base. Some of them where hinted at last night.

- Management was so pleased by how the Rockers/Sheepherders match turned out that they have decided to extend their feud for some more time.

- It was Randy Savage who personally asked Vince McMahon to let him work a program with the returning Ricky Steamboat in the road to Wrestlemania VI. Savage feels that some of the best matches of his life where aganist this man and since he knew that they didnt had anything better for him, he wanted to recapture the magic from their previous bouts. Savage and Steamboat are practically booking their feud by themselves with little input from the creative team.

- Haku is expected to follow his "terrible headaches" storyline selling the headbutt from Andre as the first one to ever hurt his hard head.

- The British Bulldogs are expected to be pushed, despite their early exit from the tag title tournament at the hands of The Nasty Boys.

- Bret "The Hitman" Hart was one of the last men to enter the Rumble as a way for Vince McMahon to measure crowd reactions towards him. He is considered the future of the company.

- In other Hart related news, Owen Hart has signed a deal with the WWF and is expected to debut soon. How the "third" Hart comes into play is yet unknown.

- Hulk Hogan will take some time after Wrestlemania VI to film movies, which might indicate that Perfect is walking away as the champion. However, Hogan can always retain the title at 'mania to send the crowd home happy and then lose it at some other event.

- The WWF is promoting Saturday Night's Main Event, live on Fox February 19th 1990 with the main event being a tag team match featuring Hulk Hogan & Andre the Giant aganist Mr. Perfect & Haku.

Announcers: Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby Heenan

Perfect celebration interrupted

Prime Time kicks off with Mr. Perfect and The Genius coming out to a loud chorus of boos. Both of them have a big smile as confetti and balloons fall from the ceiling. Perfect asks for the microphone.

Perfect: "Yeah, boo me all you want. I dont care." Crowd lets out a huge amount of boos, but you can actually hear some cheers in between.

Perfect: "Welcome to the Perfect celebration. For weeks on end I said and repeated that I was going to win the Royal Rumble and guess what? I did. I proved that you dont need to be six foot six, three hundred pounds and have twenty two inch pythons to win a Royal Rumble. I proved that ability, stamina and smarts is the perfect combination. I have to admit that in a physical matchup with the Ultimate Warrior, I would have been teared to pieces, but I found a way to outsmart him, I found a weakness and I exploited that weakness to triumph. That is why I am absolutely perfect, because I dont make mistakes, and those that I make, I fix. Now on to better things, Wrestlemania VI, Hulk Hogan, the WWF World Championship. You idiots still think I dont stand a chance, right? The same way that you tought I didnt stand a chance to win the Royal Rumble...but I did. That same way I will win the WWF Championship. With smarts, with a flawless display of technical wrestling and absolute perfection in that ring."

Perfect is cut off as "Real American" blares over the speakers and Hulk Hogan comes out to a great reaction, but some boos and jeers are heard as well. Seems that the crowd is getting tired of Hogan's act. The pop was bigger than the boo's, but they where still noticeable.

Hogan: "Mr. Perfect, the first thing I have to say is congratulations. Congratulations on winning the Royal Rumble and earning the title shot at Wrestlemania VI. I have to admit that you have proven to me and to this people that you are better than we all expected you to be, but that doesnt mean that you are better than the Hulkster brother. Yes, you outsmarted the Ultimate Warrior, yes you tossed the likes of Tito Santana and Jimmy Snuka over the top rope, but one thing I want to clarify is that you wont win this title by tossing me over the top rope, you need to pin me down one, two, three or make me quit and that will never happen brother. Because at Wrestlemania VI, Mr. Perfect, watcha gonna do, when Hulkamania runs wild on you!!..."

Perfect: "blah, blah blah this brother, blah blah blah that brother, hulkamania runs wild, blah blah. This is the same thing you have been saying for 5 years now and I think the people are tired of it, the same way I am.!!"

A noticeable pop is heard after Perfect's words, followed by boos from the rest of the crowd. This thing seems to be at least 60/40 for Hogan, but Perfect has it's supporters, even Gorilla acknowledged that on commentary.

Hogan: (points finger at Perfect) "You can say all you want, but I have the support of all my little hulkamaniacs in the crowd. You say that I have been saying these things for five years and you know why? Because nobody has been able to beat me and put me down and out brother. You want to be the first Mr. Perfect? Then come on and let's get this thing settled right here, right now."

Hogan gets on a fighting pose, but Perfect cuts him off.

Perfect: "The match is signed for Wrestlemania Hogan, I wont endanger my shot at your title in an unsanctioned fight like this. I know what you are planning Hulkster, you want to injure me so I cant make it to 'mania and that way you wont loose your title. But no Hogan, you cant outsmart me. As a matter of fact, I am leaving this ring right now "

Perfect turns to The Genius, but then tosses his towel at Hogan's face and attacks him. Genius joins in for the beatdown and the world champion is in danger. He manages to HULK UP and send both men scurrying, but it looks like a message was sent and that message is that Perfect aint afraid of Hogan.

Bad Company/with Mr. Fuji d. Barry Hardy & Barry Harowitz(2:35)

This match was just there to help die the heat from the previous segment. Hardy falls victim to the Slice and Dice and the heels take the win.

Winners: Bad Company(OR:62 CR:41 MQ:83)

Perfect's protege?

Bakstage we see The Genius and Mr. Perfect talking about Hogan and Wrestlemania, when The Red Rooster walks in.

Perfect: "What the hell are you doing here?"

Rooster: "Sorry to interrupt Mr. Perfect, but....after your demostration last night I was impressed, because one man won the rumble and that man was not six foot six, or three hundred pounds, or had the biggest muscles. That man, you Mr. Perfect, was just a good athlete with a lot of smarts. As you know, I have not won a lot of matches lately, and I was wondering if you could become my mentor, If I could receive the honor of learning from you"

Genius: "Listen chump, we have better things to do, get lost."

Perfect: "Wait Genius. A pupil huh...I like the sound of that. Someone who wants to follow absolute perfection. OK, we have a deal kid, but you have to do as I say."

Rooster: "Yes, of course."

Perfect: "Now what is your name?"

Rooster: "The Red Rooster?"

Perfect: "No you silly, your real name, not that stupid wrestling name. Get rid of that hat and jacket right now or I will cancel the deal."

Rooster: "Alright, I dont need this stuff anyway. My name is Terry Taylor."

Perfect: "Well Taylor, welcome to the Perfect Team. The Genius will be your mentor and when you pass all your tests, I will take you under my wing. Do we have a deal?"

Taylor: "Deal"

Terry Taylor shakes hands with Mr. Perfect and it seems we have an alliance.

(78%)

Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat d. Honky Tonk Man (5:15)

Great match to keep Steamboat's winning streak alive. He dominates most of the match and wins with the Flying Crossbody. After the match, Randy Savage runs down the aisle and attacks Steamboat. He nails him with the Flying Elbowdrop and tosses him over the top rope. Savage then leaves yelling something like "that's the way it should have been".

Winner: Ricky Steamboat(OR:76 CR:71 MQ:81)

Beefcake wants the Genius

Backstage, Mean Gene Okerlund was standing by with Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake.

Mean Gene: "I am standing by with Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake as he requested this interview time to send a message to The Genius"

Barber: "That's right Mean Gene. Last night at the Royal Rumble I got tossed from behind by The Genius. FROM BEHIND!! That's why I am mad, he didnt beat me up front like a man, he did so from behind. Genius, I wont rest until I have your hair in my power. I wont rest until this scissors have cut your hair and left you bald. Watch your back Genius, because I am coming for you."

(69%)

Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake d. Bob Bradley (1:21)

Super quick squash to establish Barber. He wins with the sleeper hold. After the match, The Genius runs out and stares him down. Barber is distracted and Terry Taylor attacks Barber from behind!! Genius joins in on the stomping and makes his "I am too smart" gesture to signify a brilliant plan. He shakes hands with Taylor afterwards and doubts him "The Apprentice".

Winner: Brutus Beefcake(OR:49 CR:41 MQ: 57)

One Man Gang revealed

Backstage, we see the Big Bossman pinning Slick aganist a wall with his nightstick.

Bossman: "Where is Akeem, or should I say One Man Gang? I have done an extensive investigation on Akeem and it seems he appeared right after One Man Gang dissapeared. Not only that, but they have the same blood type and many other things in common to be pure coincidence."

Slick: "Calm dooooooown Boosman. He is your tag team partner"

Bossman: "and a criminal.Criminals belong in jail and that is my job. My job comes first."

Suddenly Akeem bursts into the scene and attacks Bossman from behind. He sends him face first into the locker room and stomps him down. Bossman is left in a pile of broken furniture as Akeem stands over him.

Akeem: "You where right all along Bossman. But you wont be able to jail me, never in a million years."

He and Slick leave as the Bossman grunts in pain.

Good show, I think it might have been too early to reveal One Man Gang, A few more weeks of build up to it, Would have been perfect. But I'm still looking forward to seeing them battle it out. I'm also looking forward to Hogan/Perfect, And Taylor being with Perfect will do him some good. The Genius/Taylor could make good tag team champions.

Hey EWRFan, If you wouldn't mind, Could you post the updated bracket for the tag title tournament? I'm having a hard time keeping up with the tournament.

Good Rumble. I thought Warrioir was gonna win it there for a minute. Should be a good WM main event. Perfect on my predictions too! I hope you dont try and turn Perfect face, though. I got a little uneasy when you mentioned he was getting 40% of the cheers.

I am not going to push Perfect as a face, it is just as a way to demostrate that Hogan is not the draw he was before and that fans are getting tired of him. If I am not mistaken, this did happen around late 91 early 92, I am just doing it earlier. Plus, it DID happen in 1990 during the road to wrestlemania and his match with Warrior, in which Warrior was the fan favorite by a wide margin.

The bracketts are as follow

Quaterfinals:

Young Stallions

vs >>>>> Bravo & Quake

Bravo & Quake

Demolition

vs >>>>>>> Demolition

Bad Company

The Hart Foundation

vs >>>>>>>> Hart Foundation

DiBiase & Virgil

Tugboat & Tito

The Genius sends a message

The show opens with The Genius and "The Apprentince" Terry Taylor in the ring.

The Genius: "Last week on Prime Time, a barbarian by the name of Brutus Beefcake made some declarations about my beutiful hair. It seems this brute has a fixation with cutting people's hair and he wants to add my beutiful hair to his collection. Now I dont know why he would do such a thing, only out of resentment because I tossed him out of the Royal Rumble. Because I was smart and cunning enough to see a weakness in his strategy and exploit it for my own benefit. Well Brutus Beefcake, you want to cut my hair and make me bald, then you have a long and tough road in front of you. I dont think a man like yourself is at my level and that is why I wont give you a match. You have to earn it. But just in case you still think you can outsmart The Genius, take a look at this match and realise how stupid and futile it would be to come looking for me."

(77%)

The Genius d. Barry Harowitz (2:55)

Genius and Harowitz have a decent mat-based contest with plenty of locks and counters. Harowitz is a great technical wrestler and he deserves to be pushed. Genius "outsmarted" Harowitz when he tricked him into going for a suplex only to land behind him and catch him in the Honor Roll (Victory Roll) for the win. As Genius celebrated, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake ran out and attacked him, but left himself exposed for Terry Taylor to come into the ring and nail him from behind with The Genius poetry roll, which had a lead pipe inside. The heels proceeded to stomp down Barber and leave with smirks. Well, who said Beefcake was a rocket scientist?

Winner: The Genius(OR:67 CR:53 MQ: 81)

WWF Tag Team Title Quaterfinals:

The Nasty Boys d. Tito Santana & Tugboat (6:33)

Fairly long match in the tournament, but the quality was awful. Tugboat no sold a lot of stuff and The Nasties are not good workers at all. The finish came when The Nasties caught Tito in the Pit Stop(Spinebuster/neckbreaker combo) for the win.

Winners: The Nasty Boys(OR:60 CR:61 MQ:58)

"The Apprentice" Terry Taylor d. Tim Horner (3:38)

The Genius was at ringside and prior to the match told Taylor to look for the weakness. Horner dominated a good chunck of the match until Taylor found "the weakness" which turned out to be Horner going for a missile dropkick and Taylor catching him with a dropkick to the midsection in mid air. Taylor followed with a Gutbuster and the Picture Perfect Kneedrop from the top rope for the win. Genius then embraced his pupil as Taylor celebrated his first win in a long time.

Winner: Terry Taylor(OR:63 CR:54 MQ:72)

Replay from the Perfect/Hogan confrontation

Good stuff man, I'm liking Taylor with The Genius and Perfect, Hopefully he gets a big push out of it. I'm also liking the feud between Steamboat and Savage, I think it's been well done thus far, I'm hoping Savage goes over and gets back into the title picture. I'm still going with Demolition to win the tournament, But I think the Hart's could win it as well and lose the titles to Butch and Luke.

One Man Gang and Slick have a plan

The show kicks off as Slick is sitting down backstage at a desk talking by the phone. One Man Gang, fully revealed stands at his side. Gone is the blue and yellow outfit, the long hair and beard and the silly dancing and struting. His new hair style makes him look like one of the road warriors, with black glasses and a short, trimed goatee. His hair color is now some sort of red. He has a steel chain around his neck, is dressed in black, with motorcycle boots and a leather jackett. He also has a set of gloves that expose his fingers.

Slick: "SOOOOOO is that a deal then? One Man Gang and the Slickster are more than pleased to be able to reach an agreement with you. I knew that Brian and Jerry would agree to repay their debt with Gang. Thanks a lot and have a nice evening"

Gang: "What did I told you Slick, a ton of people are in debt with the One Man Gang. If Bossman thinks I am alone, he better think twice. Now go on and call Fuji. Tell him that the One Man Gang wants to cut a deal with the Yakuza and that money is not an issue. I have a match next and I intend to send a message to that idiot Big Bossman. You can stay here, after all, last I checked, Bossman is still at a hospital somewhere."

Slick: "As you wish partner. Just remember to watch your back for that pesky fat man."

One Man Gang leaves the room as Slick picks up the phone to call Fuji.

(71%)

One Man Gang d. Ben Jordan(1:17)

Total squash. Jordan opens the match with a flurry of right hands that are no solb by Gang, who then knocks him off his sucks with a right hand and squashes him the rest of the way. Gang finishes with the 747 Splash. Gang then helps Jordan to his feet and holds him by the neck. "You go tell Bossman to stop following me around...or else!!" He then tosses Jordan over the top with amazing force and then posses with his chain to a chorus of boo's.

Winner: One Man Gang(OR:54 CR:40 MQ:68)

The Genius mentors The Apprentice

We cut to yet another backstage skit as The Genius is in front of a chalkboard and Terry Taylor sits in a chair. Genius has some notes like weakness, guts, kneedrop, perfection and intellect written in the chalkboard.

Genius: "So my attentive apprentice, this ends tonight's lesson.I hope you where paying attention."

Taylor" "Of course Genius. This simple concept of weakness is amazing!! I should have known....but not anybody can be a genius like you. I mean....who knew that my Picture Perfect Kneedrop could really hurt people in the ribs and stomach area and that could guarantee me a win if I properly exploit that body area!! I feel intellectual and perfect indeed!!"

Genius: "You are a great student Terry, but we are not done. You are far from intellectual and perfect yet. This is just the beginning. Understanding the concept of weakness and being able to exploit it are two different things. You have to prove yourself to move to the next level."

(74%)

"The Apprentice" Terry Taylor d. Barry Harowitz(2:44)

Nice technical matwork to start as the crowd starts a "Red Rooster" chant to piss off Taylor. Taylor focuses his attack on the stomach with precise kicks and punches to the area. He gives Harowitz a gutbuster and then follows with the Picture Perfect Kneedrop for the win. The Genius claps on as Taylor celebrates his second win in a row.

Winner: Terry Taylor(OR:64 CR:52 MQ: 77)

Replay of the Savage/Steamboat confrontation from last night

"Macho King" Randy Savage d. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan(4:19)

Great main event for a Wrestling Challenge. Duggan and Savage traded shots for a good two minutes before Savage took full control. Savage won after a huge hanging vertical suplex followed by the Flying Elbowdrop. He tossed Duggan over the top and started to leave while yelling "that is the way it was, I am a winner", but Ricky Steamboat came out and attacked him, sent him into the ring and tossed him over the top. Steamboat yelled at Savage "That's the way it was" and Savage lost it, started to throw a fit and left running like a maniac.

Winner: Randy Savage(OR:80 CR:86 MQ:68)

I too am glad you're continuing the Rocker/Sheepherder feud. I think that in the steel cage, We could see ol' HBK pull something awesome off, I like the whole Gang/Bossman situation, You're playing it off quite well, And I think they could be fighting at Wrestlemania 6. I also like the stuff with Taylor, I thought the Sheepherders would win the gold from whoever wins the tournament, But if they lose to The Rockers, I see Taylor and The Genius winning the titles. Anyways, Keep up the solid work man

Bret: "Dont worry Owen, I am sure that I can talk with President Tunney and get you a match in no time. Afterall, you are one of the best wrestlers in the world and you belong here, with the Hart Foundation little brother"

Anvil: "Sure thing man. I am sure you will impress the President."

Owen: "Dont worry guys....I have my own idea and I want to earn that shot by myself ok. All that time I spent in the Canadian armed forces have really helped me straighten out and learn to do things by myself. I am sure the fans will learn to appreciate me by myself and not because of who's brother I am. Thanks anyway."

Owen leaves as Bret and Anvil smile.

Bret: "He has sure grown up Anvil. That time in the army did wonders for him."

Anvil: "Yeah....but what's in the bag anyway? He seemed so reluctant to let me carry it "

Bret: "Probably personal stuff....nothing important I guess..."

One Man Gang challenges Bossman for a match

Slick and the imposing One Man Gang step into the ringside area as we are welcomed to Prime Time by Gorilla and Bobby. Gorilla wonders what was in Owen's bag as Bobby tells him to shut up and pay attention to the One Man Gang.

Slick: "Hellooooooooo ladies and fans of professional wrestling. Welcome to the Gang hour!!"

OMG: "Let's cut to the chase. Bossman, I saw your patrol unit in the parking lot and that means that you are here tonight looking for more punishment. So why wait? Get your fat gut out here for a kicking!!!"

(68%)

Big Bossman d. One Man Gang by DQ (2:12)

Crowd explodes as Bossman runs into the ring and the bell rings. OMG dominates Bossman with right hands, but tries a short clothesline and Bossman ducks, then sends OMG to the corner with a clothesline of his own. He stomps OMG down in the corner and then mounts him for the ten punch count!! He sends OMG into the opposite corner and then does a Stinger Splash!!! Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs run in and attack the Bossman as the ref calls for the bell signifying a disqualification. The heels beatdown Bossman as OMG shouts "Bossman!!! Meet the chain gang!!!"

The beating continues as the heels try to choke Bossman with OMG's chain. Suddenly.......

WHEREVER THEIR IS A CITIZEN IN NEED, THEIR IS A HERO TO SAVE THE DAY. YOU NEED A SUPERHERO?........THEN LOOK AT THE SKY!!! BLUE BLAZER BLAZING TROUGH!!!!

Up from the rafters a masked man dressed in blue lands behind the heels and knocks them down!! Knobbs is taken down by a spinning heel kick!!! Sags eats a flying shoulderblock!! The masked man tries to kick OMG, but he blocks it....NOOO, ENZIGURI!!! OMG is down and rolls outside as the masked stranger removes the chain from Bossman's neck and tosses it at OMG.

Bossman recovers from the assault and slowly rises to his feet as the masked stranger looks on. Bossman stands up and stares down his savior, before extending a hand. The masked man shakes it and then points at the sky. Bossman looks and KABOOM an explosion is heard and smoke sorrounds the ring. When it clears up the masked stranger is nowhere to be seen as Bossman scratches his head. Suddenly the voice of the masked man is heard again....

WHENEVER THEIR IS A CITIZEN IN NEED, THEIR IS A HERO TO SAVE THE DAY. DO YOU BELIEVE IN HEROES? THEN LOOK AT THE SKY...THE BLUE BLAZER WILL BLAZE TROUGH AND SAVE THE DAY!!

Bossman looks even more puzzled.

Winner: Big Bossman by DQ (OR:68 CR:64 MQ: 72)

The Genius introduces tag team wrestling

Backstage, we are back at the chalkboard. The Genius is once again training Terry Taylor. This time Mr. Perfect is standing in a corner looking at the class. Tonight's words are TAG, WRESTLING, TEAM AND WIN.

Genius: "and so my faithful apprentice, the concept of tag team wrestling is more complex since you need to introduce the previous concepts you learned into a match with two other men and one partner. The general strategy is to stay fresh and use constant teamwork to exploit the opponents weaknesses. You will get to experience this concept first hand tonight when you team up with me aganist the Young Stallions. "

Perfect: "Oh and by the way kid, you have done a great job. If you manage to exceed my expectations tonight, you will have the privilege to work a tag team match alongside the next WWF Champion. Good luck champ."

Perfect pats Taylor in the back, who looks overly excited at the prospect of teaming up with Perfect.

(71%)

The Genius & "The Apprentice" Terry Taylor d. The Young Stallions (4:25)

Very good tag team match. This was punishment for Roma's lack of selling in the PPV match and it seems it worked because he was actually motivated to put on a good match. Funny bit as the ref surprises Taylor and Genius choking Roma in the corner and warns them, but Taylor tries to explain him the concept of teamwork in retaliation. The match ends when Taylor nails Roma with the Picture Perfect Kneedrop while Genius and Powers brawled outside. Taylor then celebrated and huged The Genius lifting him high in the air as The Genius begged him to put him down. Brutus Beefcake ran out and attacked both heels from behind, sending Taylor over the top rope and then trying to cut The Genius hair off, but Taylor came back in and knocked him out with the Poetry Roll and the heels scurried to the back.

Winners: Genius & Taylor(OR:74 CR:64 MQ:84)

Good show man, Glad to see Taylor getting treated seriously, The feud between Steamboat and Savage is also going well, Surprised to see Demolition get eliminated as they were my pick, I have no idea who'll win now, I'm not too much of a Blue Blazer fan, As I think Owen could have been better off as just Owen Hart, But lets see how it goes. Keep up the good work man
