ROC...Peter Sellers film, starring Geoffrey Rush, was released in cinemas and was a big budget movie last year. It wasn't a TV movie, it was a full cinema release...

Anyways...

30: House Of Flying Daggers

"Near the end of the Tang Dynasty, police deputies Jin (Kaneshiro) and Leo (Lau) tangle with Mei (Zhang), a dancer suspected of having ties to a revolutionary faction known as the House of Flying Daggers. Enraptured by her, the deputies concoct a plan to save her from capture, and Jin leads her north in what becomes a perilous journey into the unknown."

Andy Lau is a legend. And Takeshi Kaneshiro is an amazing up and comer. A Hamster recommendation.

29: Garden State

"Andrew Largeman is a depressed, out of work actor eking out his existence in Los Angeles. But a fateful call from his father has Andrew heading back to his home state of New Jersey. As he's about to confront his the personal demons in his life, Andrew just may find that life is worth living. But only when he can deal with the conflicts that arise from he and those around him."

A film I really want to see ASAP. Already 168th in the imdb top 250!

28: Zatoichi

"Blind Zatoichi makes his living by gambling and giving massages. But behind his humble facade, Zatoichi is a master swordsman, gifted with lightning-fast draw and strokes of breathtaking precision. Zatoichi wanders into a town run by sinister gangs and a powerful samurai. He's destined for violent showdowns when he stumbles on two beautiful geishas avenging their parents' murder... Duels, wit and a touch of zen! Cult anti-hero Zatoichi is back in a sword-fighting adventure written, directed and starring Takeshi Kitano."

My film of the year. Kitano is a superb actor and an incredible director. Samurais, geishas, sword play, comedy, musical finale...Everything you could want and more...

27: The Terminal

"An eastern immigrant finds himself stranded in JFK airport, and must take up temporary residence there."

26: Club Dread

"When a serial killer interrupts the fun at the swanky Coconut Pete's Coconut Beach Resort -- a hedonistic island paradise for swingers --- it's up to the club's staff to stop the violence ... or at least hide it!"

Apparantly, according to imdb, it's a bit rubbish...

Only seen two of the movies posted so far.

Day After Tomorrow, which as many people have said had plenty of nice effects and visually was great. It just didn't grip me and the pace seemed all wrong.

The Terminal, which was pretty much what I expected and was decent, but it was one of those movies where you expect the ending to be one thing and it turns out being something else that you don't like.

I missed the voting thread if there was one but I expect The Incredibles and Collatteral to be on there somewhere from the movies I've seen. I'm guessing Shrek 2 as well despite how much I dislike it.

25: The Bourne Supremacy

"When Jason Bourne is framed for a botched CIA operation he is forced to take up his former life as a trained assassin to survive."

24: Team America : World Police

"Marionette superheroes fight to end terrorism and put tired celebrities out of their misery."

Catchy plot summary huh...

23: Friday Night Lights

"Based on H.G. Bissinger's book, which profiled the economically depressed town of Odessa, Texas and their heroic high school football team, The Permian High Panthers."

22: The Ladykillers

"An eccentric, if not charming Southern professor and his crew pose as a band in order to rob a casino, all under the nose of his unsuspecting landlord: a sharp old woman."

21: Walking Tall

"Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson plays Chris Vaughn, a retired soldier who returns to his hometown to make a new life for himself, only to discover his wealthy high school rival, Jay Hamilton (Neal McDonough), has closed the once-prosperous lumber mill and turned the town's resources towards his own criminal gains. The place Chris grew up is now overrun with crime, drugs, and violence. Enlisting the help of his old pal Ray Templeton (Johnny Knoxville), Chris gets elected sheriff and vows to shut down Hamilton's operations. His actions endanger his family and threaten his own life, but Chris refuses to back down until his hometown once again feels like home."

Erm....Walking Tall?! Well I guess if The Rock gets included in the countdown of the greatest actors ever then nothing should surprise me...
