Harry Potter in the top 20 :o NOT NUMBER 1 :pinch:

Its alright :P , top 20 is not bad at all, here's hoping these films are in the top 10: Spiderman 2, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, The Incrdeibles, Million Dollar Baby and Kill Bill Volume 2. I always thought Harry Potter was better then Shrek 2 overall(a bit from the fanboy in me, but realistically) and whatever Shrek 2's place in that list, The Prisoner of Azkaban should be there. Anyway looking forward to mthe list, while I'm still patiently waiting for Numbah's to stop being busy and start posting his thoughts on the year that was...2004. :)

15: The Butterfly Effect

"A young man (Kutcher) blacks out harmfull memories of significant events of his life. As he grows up he finds a way to remember these lost memories and a supernatural way to alter his life."

14: Finding Neverland

"The story of J.M. Barrie's friendship with a family who inspired him to create Peter Pan."

Or as one of the other reviewers said... "FINALLY! Sentiment you can swallow!"

13: The Passion Of The Christ

"A film detailing the final hours and crucifixion of Jesus Christ."

12: Collateral

"A cab driver finds himself the hostage of an engaging contract killer as he makes his rounds from hit to hit during one night in LA. He must find a way to save both himself and one last victim."

Another Hamster vote winner. This is a great film....

11: Starsky And Hutch

"Two streetwise cops (Stiller and Wilson) bust criminals in their red-and-white Ford Torino with the help of police snitch called Huggy Bear (Snoop Dogg)."

Along with Shrek 2, this has to be my most disappointing film of the year. Just not funny enough...

... Starsky and Hutch. STARSKY AND HUTCH.

*Facepalm.*

Thanks, Hamster, I asked for something meaningless to get angry over and the list delivered as per usual. I'm predicting Kill Bill vol. 2 for #1.

And finally we go into the top 10! Hoorah!

10: Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy

"Ron Burgundy is San Diego's top rated newsman in the male dominated broadcasting of the 1970's, but that's all about to change when a new female employee with ambition to burn arrives in his office."

IMDB rated 6.5/10

9: Ying xiong (Hero)

"A series of Rashomon-like flashback accounts shape the story of how one man defeated three assassins who sought to murder the most powerful warlord in pre-unified China."

One of my personal films of the year. A fantastically and beautifully crafted masterpiece....

IMDB rated 8.2/10

8: The Girl Next Door

"A teenager's dreams come true when a former porn star moves in next door and they fall in love."

IMDB rated 6.8/10

7: Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story

"A group of misfits enter a Las Vegas dodgeball tournament in order to save their cherished local gym from the onslaught of a corporate health fitness chain."

IMDB rated 6.5/10

6: The Incredibles

"A family of undercover superheroes, while trying to live the quiet suburban life, are forced into action to save the world."

IMDB rating 8.2/10 (really as good as Hero?!?!?!?!?)

Top five coming soon....

I forgot about Dodgeball and I thought that movie was great too. It was predictable but v.funny along the way.

Patches O'Houlihan: "It's like watching a bunch of retards trying to fuck a doorknob out there."

Oh and Stiller is hilarious in the cocky bad guy role. Surprising in that his usual character is the worrier type.

There is a lot of shit movies, a a couple of artsy movies, some indy stuff and a sprinkling of other stuff on the list...this is exactly what I expected to happen. I liked a couple of the movies on the list, with Man On Fire, The Butterfly Effect and The Punisher being on the list.

I haven't seen everything that I want to see on the list though, with OldBoy, Lost In Translation, Zatoichi, The Terminal, Collateral and Kill Bill 2(I know its in the top ten) being the main ones.

Comparing Hero to Rashomon is BLASPHOMOUS HERACY!

... Erm, not really, since it's clearly inspired by Rashomon. Also, it's better than any other movie on that group.

So the top five pretty much consists of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Spider-Man 2, Shrek 2, Kill Bill vol. 2, and something else that's slipping my mind.

I can't be assed to look, has Garden State appeared yet? That movie is seriously bad-ass.

I thought Eternal Sunshine was great, not perfect like everyone thinks, but great. I like how Kate Winslet played the part that Jim Carrey usual does, and vice versa. I, unlike Bolder, loved the Dream Sequence. I had to think about what was going on long after the movie ended to figure out what happened, but that's me. I love movies that make me think about the plot long after the movie is over.

I generally just loved Kate Winslet's character. Her hair was awesome too.

It's probably Shaun of the Dead, that or Dawn of the Dead.

EDIT: Tristof, Garden State was #29

I forgot entirely about Shaun. That's going to be there.

I'll predict the top five now.

1. Kill Bill vol. 2

2. Spider-Man 2

3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

4. Shrek 2

5. Shaun of the Dead

It's going to be close between Kill Bill and Spider-Man.

Well...On that bombshell, time to put you lot out of your misery.....

5: Kill Bill Vol. 2

"The Bride continues her vengeance quest against her ex-boss, Bill, and his associates."

IMDB rating 8.2/10 (Kill Bill 1 got 8.4 - Kill Bill 1 WAS better, though in my opinion 8.0 and 7.7 would be better scores)

4: Shaun Of The Dead

"A man decides to turn his moribund life around by winning back his ex-girlfriend, reconciling his relationship with his mother and dealing with an entire community that has returned from the dead to eat the living."

IMDB rating ONLY 7.9/10!!! What's wrong with them?!

Definitely one of the best films of the year, I loved this loads.

3: Shrek 2

"Princess Fiona's parents invite her and Shrek to dinner to celebrate her marriage. If only they knew the newlyweds were both ogres."

IMDB rating 7.7/10

I personally rated this the biggest disappointment of the year. It wasn't good enough...

2: Spider-Man 2

"Peter Parker is beset with numerous personal problems while Spider-Man confronts the brilliant Dr. Otto Octavius, who has been transformed into "Doctor Octopus" (aka, "Doc Ock"), a multi-tentacled menace."

IMDB rating 7.9/10

Again, I didn't really care about this movie...

Which means that joy of joys we actually have an EXCELLENT film at number one! REJOICE!

1: Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

"A couple (Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet) undergo a procedure to erase each other from their memories when their relationship turns sour, but it is only through the process of loss that they discover what they had to begin with."

IMDB rating 8.6/10 (32nd top film of all time)

Now this WAS a good film, my second favourite of the year! So well done all those who voted for this and kept popcorn-munching-trash such as Shrek and Spiderman off the top spot! Hoorah!
