So....wait, hang on here...

You're complaining that instead of two days of one genre, you get three days spanning different genres? And the bad part of this is where? No one's forcing you to watch all of the bands on the first day and, who knows, maybe you'll *gasp* like some of the bands playing?

At least wait until the line-up's been announced before you start complaining to anyone who'll listen.

I think that the indie will be quite good. I'll be there for the full three days anyway. Also, this is my first download festival so has anyone got any tips about anything. Like what I should bring for camping, how much beer they'll let me through with etc.

They dont have any limits to what you vcan carry, just bear in mind that you do have to carry it for a bit of a walk. We had our cutlery confisgated, so plastic knives and forks are the way to go. Plenty of changes of clothes if you're planning on moshing, 'cause if the weather's nice, you're going to sweat. A lot.I'd bring a few bits of food and a camping stove too, far cheaper than the food stalls. And a distinguishing flag to help you pick out your tent.

For camping, my usual stuff is:

5-6 litres of Jd & Coke, premixed

Loads of tins of all day breakfasts and pot noodles

Tent

Sleeping bag

Stove

Crate of beer

Steel toe cap boots.

Tooth brush and stuff

Condoms

Money

Thats my recommend minimum to take.

Well, they've announced the headliners, and I must say, it's good and shit at the same time:

DOWNLOAD 2005

June 10 - Feeder (headlining), Garbage, Billy Idol.

June 11 ("OZZFEST DAY") - Black Sabbath (headlining), Velvet Revolver, H.I.M.

June 12 - System Of A Down (headlining), Slipknot, Slayer

Who the fuck is Feeder, and why isn't Billy Idol or Garbage headlining instead?

"Ozzfest Day" should be good, but I would have thought they'd have bands that could possibly appear on Ozzfest sometime, not VR & HIM. I'd move Slipknot & Slayer to "Ozzfest Day", and VR & HIM to the 12th.

I echo the "who the fuck are Feeder" sentiment presented by Casey. I'd much rather see Billy Idol or Garbage headline. Are you sure they aren't just some popular indie band in Europe? I've never ever heard of them.
