ROH: Third Anniversary Celebration III

Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago Ridge, Illinois

Singles Match

James Gibson Vs Puma

-These two men opened up the third and final show of the Third Anniversary Celebration with a good bout. Puma, despite his smaller size, kept up move for move with the former WWE superstar from the beginning of the bell. Puma hit a Superkick, and then a running Legdrop for a two count. Puma tried to use his aerial attacks to keep the advantage over Gibson, but messed up on a Springboard when Gibson shoved the top rope, sending Puma gut-first onto the rope. Then, Gibson showed his innovative offense by hooking the arms of his opponent, and connecting with a Butterfly Powerbomb from the middle turnbuckle. Puma kicked out at two, and Gibson went on the attack, working over the neck of his opponent on the mat. Gibson shoved the point of his elbow into the back of Puma's neck, and then applied pressure and dragged it back and forth along his neck. Puma clutched at his neck, and Gibson set up for the Tiger Driver, but Puma countered with a Hurricanrana for a two count. Gibson got right back up and tried to charge in, but Puma side-stepped him and Gibson went crashing through the ropes. Puma went up to the top rope, and despite the pain in his neck, dove off and onto Gibson on the floor. The fans started an ROH chant, and Puma relished in it. The match made its' way back into the ring, and Puma fought off the Trailer Hitch, and hit a Rocker Dropper for a two count. Puma then called for it, and tried for the Skullcrusher, but Gibson countered it, set up and hit a Skullcrusher (Tombstone Piledriver) of his own. Gibson made the cover and picked up the three count.

The Great Managerial Debate

Jim Cornette Vs Bobby Heenan

-Bobby Heenan made his way out to the ring and the fans went insane for him, but before he got to say anything, was interrupted by Jim Cornette, who strolled down to the ring as arrogantly as usual. Cornette got into the ring and told Heenan to bring his team out to the ring so that they could get their match under-way. Heenan then happily introduced "two of the youngest and best talents on the Ring of Honor roster... Matt Sydal and Joey Matthews." The new tandem made their way out to the ring and stood side by side with The Brain as they waited for Cornette. James E then grabbed the microphone and told Heenan to make sure his socks were on tight, because "Camp Cornette now consists of the two brightest and best young stars on the Ring of Honor roster... Matt Sydal and Joey Matthews."

Heenan looked over at his clients and the two men cornered him. Cornette verbally assaulted Heenan as he found himself stuck in the corner. Matthews and Sydal both wound up and looked ready to hit him, but as Heenan looked away, Cornette wound up himself with the tennis racket, and brought it down hard on the head of The Brain. Heenan clumped to the mat and Cornette and his team laughed as ROH officials ran out to help the legendary manager. As Heenan was being taken to the back, Cornette told him that "this is why I've always been better than you. I'm smarter, younger and quicker." Cornette then proceeded to tell Heenan that next time they're in the same building, he'd better have a tag team to face Camp Cornette.

Tag Team Scramble Match

S & M w/ Jim Cornette Vs GenNext Vs Ring Crew Express w/ Daizee Haze

-The team of Sydal & Matthews stayed in the ring as their opponents made their way out. Stong and Evans were out first, but there was a big shocker when Poison's "Nothin' But A Good Time" hit, and the Ring Crew Express made their way, excitedly, out to the ring followed by Daizee Haze. S&M had turned on Haze at the 2/25 show after defeating the tandem of Dunn and Marcos, but she was looking to get her vengeance on this night, as she returned with the Express in hopes of embarrassing her former friend, Matt Sydal. GenNext, being the only team without a distraction, seemed to take control early on, but Dunn and Marcos came in after Strong caught Sydal with a Canadian Backbreaker and hit a series of Arm Drags on Roderick, sending him back and forth until Evans came in and the two juggled him back and forth as well. GenNext rolled to the outside together, and tried to regroup, but were taken out with a stereo Stage Dive from Dunn and Marcos. Cornette tried to rally his troops, and Matthews followed suit, trying to get his partner up. While this was happening, Daizee had climbed to the top rope, and dove off with a Moonsault onto both Matthews and Sydal. Matthews tried to hit Daizee, but she ducked under a punch and caught Sydal with a Tilt-a-Whirl Headscissors. She then slid out of the ring, while Matthews yelled at her. With Matthews' back turned, Dunn and Marcos slid into the ring and rolled him up from behind for a two count. Joey got up and hit a Double Lariat on both men, and then planted Dunn with a severe looking DDT for a two count of his own. Evans caught Matthews with a reverse Hurricanrana, driving him head first into the mat and sending him rolling to the outside. The RCE then caught Sydal with a Double Superkick, but soon fell victim to the tandem of Strong and Evans. The end of the bout saw Sydal try to get back into the fold, only to have Daizee Haze attack him on the outside of the ring, and allowing GenNext to hit their amazing maneuver, Skipping a Generation, on Dunn and Marcos for the victory.

Singles Match

Jay Lethal Vs CM Punk

-Lethal came into this match, having lost to Homicide the night before, and in need of a victory here in order to file a petition in hopes of getting a rematch with Jimmy Rave... but CM Punk would be no easy task, and the ROH veteran showed no remorse for Lethal's position, as he himself was also trying to position himself in line for a shot at one of the ROH singles titles. Punk managed to apply the Devil Lock early on, but Lethal still had too much left in him, and he refused to tap out. The damage was done, however, as Punk continued to work over the neck, back, and left knee of Jay Lethal. Lethal reversed out of a German Suplex attempt and rolled Punk up for a two count, and then tried to use his momentum to connect with a Dragon Suplex, but Punk blocked that and rolled Lethal up for a two count. The two men exchanged Knife Edged Chops, and Lethal looked to be gaining an advantage, but Punk put an end to that with a hard kick placed strategically to the outside of Lethal's left knee. Lethal picked up several more near-falls with desperation moves, inluding a Tiger Suplex, but couldn't put Punk away. Lethal kept trying for the Dragon Suplex, but Punk kept blocking it. Lethal tried for a Superkick, but Punk blocked it, hit a boot to the gut and hooked both of Lethal's arms. Punk looked around, then yelled out "Welcome to Chicago, Motherfucker", before connecting with his vicious Double Underhook Backbreaker. That move picked up Punk a very close two count. Lethal rallied one last time, and managed to connect with the Dragon Suplex, but couldn't take advantage of it. Lethal charged at Punk, who ducked under a Lariat, hit a boot to the gut, and then hit the ropes and came back with a climbing Shining Wizard, using the outstretched knee of Lethal to get higher up. Punk made the cover, and picked up the three count.

After the match, Colt Cabana made his way out to the ring in his street clothes. Cabana grabbed a mic and congratulated Jay Lethal on having two amazing matches this weekend. Colt shook Lethal's hand, and told him that he would be a big star someday. Cabana then gave Punk props for winning two matches and putting himself in a better position for a title shot. Colt told Punk that if he gets a title shot, that he'll be there for him, just like Punk was for him on 2/19. Punk gave Colt an embrace and then left, as Cabana continued to talk, claiming that Austin Aries was a worthy champion, and that it will take a truly honorable man to dethrone him as The Man in Ring of Honor. Cabana apologized to the Chicago Ridge fans, saying that he had intended on bringing and defending the ROH Title tonight, but that he wasn't man enough to get the job done. Colt apologized again, and said that he's returning to the ring next week in the Six Man Tag Team Tournament, and that when the Extreme Saints win the tournament, he's going to get another title shot, but that this time, he's going to take it even more seriously, and train even harder. The fans applauded Cabana as he left, and he thanked them for standing by him.

Best of Five Series

Falls Count Anywhere Match

Homicide w/ Julius Smokes Vs Bryan Danielson

-Danielson came into this match down 2-0 in the Best of Five series, and really came out intensely, showing a lot more fire than his opponent, who had come into the match overly cocky with his commanding lead. The match stayed in the ring for the first several minutes, that is, until Homicide became fed up with Danielson's controlling of the bout. The Notorious 187 sent Danielson to the outside, where Julius Smokes connected with a few shots of his own on the American Dragon, allowing Homicide to set up and connect with the Tope Con Hilo, landing in the front row of fans. Homicide then tried to Suplex Danielson into the crowd, but Dragon blocked it, and lifted 'Cide up into the air, dropping him chest first on the guardrail. The two men fought into the crowd, with Danielson even using a fans chair to knock his opponent to the floor. Danielson maintained the advantage until Homicide tossed beer into Dragon's face, allowing him to recover and take Danielson out with a Piledriver onto the floor. Homicide covered, but only picked up a two count. The fight made its' way back to ringside, where Julius Smokes was waiting with the set of Brass Knuckles. Homicide held Danielson in the ring, and Smokes wound up, but ended up hitting his charge as Danielson managed to escape Homicide's grasp. The fans went wild as Smokes dropped the knucks, and Danielson picked them up. The J-Train cowered back into the corner, and after several moments of taunting, Danielson finally reered back and then delivered a knockout blow to Smokes. This distraction gave Homicide enough time to recover, and he tried to sneak up behind Danielson and hit the Cop Killah, but Danielson flipped out of it and shoved Homicide outside of the ring. The Notorious 187 stood up, but was immediately taken out with a Tope Suicida. Danielson and Homicide then fought up the entranceway, until Homicide hit a boot to the gut and set up for another Piledriver, but Danielson hit a Back Body Drop to stop it, and then grabbed a chair from a fan and clocked Homicide in the forehead with it. Homicide got up to his knees, and Danielson hit him two more times with the chair, busting him open. But Dragon didn't stop there, as he pulled Homicide up to his feet, and hit a Piledriver onto the steel chair in the entranceway for the pinfall.

Tag Team Match

Alex Shelley and Delirious Vs The Embassy of Rave and McGuinness w/ Prince Nana

-Shelley came into this match having lost against CM Punk the night before, and needing a win to keep himself in good standing with his title petition, but it would be no easy task, as he was teaming with The Lizard Man against the newest member of The Embassy in Nigel McGuinness and the ROH Pure Champion, Jimmy Rave. Rave was coming off of a huge main event win over AJ Styles from the night before and his team carried their momentum forward for the beginning of the match, as Rave and Nigel made tags in and out while working over the arm of Delirious. The Embassy toyed with Delirious, letting him get halfway to his corner before stopping him, but this proved to be a mistake on their part, as the Lizard Man caught Nigel with a Lariat out of nowhere. Delirious was screaming something in his gibberish language, and Shelley responded by yelling "I don't speak retard! Just make the fucking tag!" Delirious crawled over and finally tagged in his partner, who came in and cleaned house. Nigel was on the receiving end of a Hammerlock turned into a DDT, and Rave tried to come in, but received an Arm Drag, followed by another, and then he slid to the outside of the ring. Shelley worked over McGuinness in the ring, and had him in a Fujiwara Armbar, but Rave came in and broke it up. Rave finally made the tag in to work against Shelley, but only after Nigel had gained the advantage again. Rave hit the Gravity Killer out of the corner, but couldn't get anything more than a two count, and Shelley was back on the attack again, working over Rave's shoulder. Shelley tagged out, and Delirious came in and kept on the shoulder. The team of Shelley and Delirious worked fairly well together nearing the end of the match, as Delirious hit a Double Foot Stop to Rave's shoulder from the top rope, and then Shelley climbed up and followed suit. Rave caught Delirious in the eye with a thumb, and then tagged in McGuinness, and the two men hit an amazing double team move, that saw Nigel go through the actions for the Guvnor's Crumpet, but as he was getting ready to drop into the Pedigree, Rave came from off the ropes with a diving Dropkick to the upper thigh of Delirious, adding added velocity to the move and sending him face first into the canvas. Rave then attacked Shelley to keep him out of the ring while Nigel made the cover for the win.

Winner: The Embassy at 10:19

Sliced Bread #2 Vs Contra Code

Singles Match

Spanky Vs Jimmy Jacobs

-Spanky came into this match, furious with Jimmy Jacobs for refusing to stop using "his move" to finish his matches, but Jacobs still offered his hand at the beginning of the bout. Spanky seemed to be playing the heel here, as he would beat down on Jacobs, and continue to do so even when it was unneccessary. Jacobs mounted a comeback, and stomped a mudhole in Spanky in the corner, including the two finger salute courtesy of Stone Cold Steve Austin. Spanky fought out of the corner and hit Jacobs with a Stunner, yelling "You want to be a WWE superstar?" Jacobs tried to get back up, but Spanky put a boot right between his eyes, sending Jacobs rolling to the outside. Spanky followed, and hit an F5 into the ringpost, banging up Jacobs' ribs with the move. The Barbaric Berserker tried to fight back, but Spanky was relentless on his attack, sending him hard into the guardrail with an Irish Whip. Spanky then rolled him back into the ring, and slid in as well, but Jacobs jumped on him, pounding away with rights and lefts until Spanky pushed him off. Spanky tried for a running move of some kind, but Jacobs caught him with a Superkick out of desperation. Spanky was the first man up, but Jacobs blocked a punch, and hit him with one of his own, and repeated this until Spanky was in the corner. Jacobs whipped Spanky into the opposite corner and followed up with a big Yakuza Kick into the corner. Jacobs then called for it, and tried for the Contra Code, but Spanky blocked it by dropping him back first onto the top turnbuckle. Jacobs tried to fight back up, but Spanky hit a knee to the gut, followed up by the Sliced Bread #2. Spanky then crawled over onto Jacobs and picked up the three count.

After the match, Spanky offered his hand to Jacobs, but Jimmy freaked out and nailed a series of Forearms, followed up with a Contra Code using the ropes instead of the turnbuckles to get the height. Jacobs put the boots to Spanky some more, and then yelled something that couldnt' be made out as he choked Spanky with both hands. Jacobs finally left, but returned and hit a second Contra Code as Spanky tried to get up.

ROH World Title

Singles Match

Austin Aries defends Vs Samoa Joe

-It was finally time for the most anticipated Championship rematch in ROH history, as new ROH Champion Austin Aries was set to make his third defense of the ROH Title in Ring of Honor against the man that held the belt for almost two years, and the man that he defeated at Final Battle 2004 to capture the title, Samoa Joe. The match started off with Aries and Joe going face to face, and the Champion slapping his challenger hard across the face. Joe responded by throwing a Forearm, but Aries took it in and threw one of his own, showing Joe that he wouldn't back down, and that he wasn't afraid to go blow for blow with him. Joe hit the ropes and knocked Aries to his back with another Forearm, but Aries got up and looked Joe straight in the eye. The Champion then hit the ropes himself and drove a Forearm of his own into Joe's jaw, but the challenger only stumbled backward. Aries hit the ropes again and dove at Joe with another Forearm, but this time, Joe grabbed the arm and took Aries to the mat with a submission. The Champion struggled to the ropes to break the hold, and Joe did so. Joe tried to take Aries out with a Lariat, but the Champion ducked under it and hit a Dropkick, sending Joe backward and out of the ring. Aries then hit the ropes and dove through with a Suicide Dive, but was caught hard in the face with a Forearm from Joe. Samoa Joe then took Aries into the guardrail, and beat him around a bit before setting him up on a chair against the guardrail. The crowd began chanting, and Joe tried for the Ole Kick, but Aries moved out of the way, and Joe hurt his knee and groin when it hit the guardrail. With Joe's leg still over the railing, Aries took advantage, placing a hard kick to the inside of his leg and knee, and then another. Joe fell into the chair that Aries had been in, with his leg still suspended, and Ariesran over to the other side of the ring. The Wrestling Machine then charged, connecting with a missile of a running Dropkick right to the knee of Joe. The challenger fell to the floor clutching at his knee, and Aries taunted the fans, saying "this is why I'm Champion."

Aries rolled Joe back into the ring, and hit a Slingshot Spinning Splash to the knee of Joe. Aries continued to focus his attack on the knee. Joe fought back up to a vertical base, but couldn't put too much pressure on his one leg, and it showed, as Aries blocked a Suplex attempt, and tried for the Brainbuster, but Joe blocked it and got him up for a Suplex, but his knee gave out from under him and Aries fell on top for a count of two. Aries went to work again on the knee, and tried to apply a Figure Four Leglock, but Joe countered into a Small Package for a two count. The fight went back to a vertical one, and Aries tried for a Lariat, but Joe blocked it and hit a vicious STO, which he then used to move into the Triangle Choke. The fans chanted "TAP!" at Aries, but he refused to do so, and used his legs to push up and create a pinning combination on Joe for a two count which was broken only when Joe let go of the hold. Joe tried to get back up, but Aries caught him with a running Dropkick to the inside of his knee, and then went up top, coming off beautifully with a Macho Man Flying Elbowdrop to the knee. Joe rolled around the ring holding his knee and trying to get up, but Aries kept him down on the mat until Joe finally caught him with a Palm Thrust to the face. Joe made his way to his feet, and beat Aries into the corner. Joe charged into the corner, but Aries caught him with a boot to the face, and then tried for the 450 Splash, but Joe knocked him down, crotching him on the top rope. Samoa Joe then grabbed Aries, and despite the pain in his knee showing, pulled Aries off the top rope and then delivered the Muscle Buster. Joe couldn't capitalize on the move, however, as he was in too much pain. Aries was the first man up, and he laughed while he held his neck with one hand. Joe tried to pull himself up on the ropes, but Aries charged in and caught him in the back of the head with a big knee. Aries then pulled Joe out to the middle of the ring and connected with the Brainbuster after several attempts to get Joe up. Aries then covered, but only got a two count, as Joe threw his shoulder up. Aries then teased going for the 450, but stopped when Joe tried to get up. Aries walked over to Joe, stomped on his knee, and then wound up and caught him hard in the face with a well placed soccer kick. Aries then grabbed Joe's leg and applied the Figure Four Leglock, right in the middle of the ring...and after several moments of Joe screaming "NO!" and the fans chanting "Please Don't Tap", Aries finally forced Joe to tap out, as the pain was just too much.

Winner: Austin Aries at 29:16

I thought this was a very solid show from top to bottom. the only problem I had with it, is that I thought that Samoa Joe had come out a little weaker then I would have liked to have seen. I understand that you want to build Aries up as a credible champion, as well as him learning from his past mistakes. Keep up the good work Gabe, I'll continue to read.

The real prize though runs much deeper. Pride on the line for all 24 men in this tournament. The winning team will get bragging rights. If Generation Next, The Rottweilers, The Second City Saints or Camp Cornette win they will have undisputed bragging rights as the top faction in ROH. Other teams like Dunn, Marcos & Puma, BJ Whitmer and the Carnage Crew and athletes like Jay Lethal have opportunities to put themselves on the map in one night. Other men like Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, James Gibson and Spanky can lock up title shots. This Saturday in Philly will be a night where reputations will be made or destroyed.

March 2: ROH officials are currently in talks with New Japan LA Dojo officials about the eight participants in the Best Of American Super Juniors on 4/2 at the RexPlex in Elizabeth, NJ. Tickets are on sale now. Gary Michael Cappetta will announce some of the competitors at this Saturday's show in Philly.

March 2: ROH officials have decided that there will be no time limit in Saturday's tournament matches to help insure that there will be clear winners and losers in every contest.

March 3: We weren't supposed to get this information until later in the week, but it has leaked to ROHwrestling.com that James Gibson will be taking on Rocky Romero on March 12th in Woodbridge, CT. This match of two New Japan junior stars could be the show stealer when ROH debuts in the New Haven market!!!

March 4: ROH has decided to pack up the steel cage and bring it to the Midwest for the first time on 5/13 in Dayton and 5/14 in Chicago. Both nights will see steel cage action. There is no telling right now what matche(s) you might see. Could we see a Scramble Cage in the Midwest?

March 4: This Saturday's Six Man Mayhem will be a very important bout for all six participants. B-Boy, Jimmy Jacobs, Trent Acid, Azrieal, Delirious and Dixie are all potential breakout stars in 2005. This could be the start of something big for the winner of this match. In addition, B-Boy could secure a fulltime spot in ROH with a victory on 3/5 in Philly.

March 4: ROH officials have already stated that they want to insure clear winners and losers in tomorrow's tournament. The first step was having no time limit in the tournament matches to insure there would be no time limit draws. Now ROH officials have taken things a step further. ROH: Six Man Tag Team Tournament

National Guard Armory in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

First Round

Six Man Tag Team Match

BJ Whitmer and the Carnage Crew Vs Generation Next

-The Six Man Tag Team Tournament opened up with a barn-burner of a bout, as one half of the ROH Tag Team Champions, BJ Whitmer, teamed up with a duo that he is very familiar with in the Carnage Crew of HC Loc and Tony Devito. Their opponents in this opening match were the trio of Generation Next: Roderick Strong, Jack Evans and the ROH World Champion, Austin Aries. The match started off with Jack Evans and HC Loc going toe to toe. Loc tried to use his power to control the opening moments, but Evans flipped out of a Back Body Drop, and then connected with a Spinning Toe Kick to Loc's face. Evans tagged out to Strong, and then the two men hit a combo move, where Roderick connected with a Pendulum Backbreaker on Loc, followed by Evans hitting a Quebrada Legdrop across the neck of his opponent. GenNext made quick tags to keep Loc on the defensive, but Evans tried for one too many flashy moves, and Loc caught him with a vicious Piledriver out of a Hurricanrana attempt. Evans rolled to the outside of the ring, holding his neck gingerly, and Loc finally made the tag. Whitmer came in and took out all three GenNext members, only to fall victim to a big Yakuza Kick from Strong, followed by a Macho Neck Snap from Aries, which send BJ right into the arms of Strong, who hit a Full Nelson into a Backbreaker. Devito came in to break up the count, and all six men ended up in the ring.

Strong and the Carnage Crew battled on the outside, but Aries dove through the middle and top rope, catching all three men. Whitmer then waited for everyone to get up, and then did the same thing. Evans teased going up top, but Loc rolled back into the ring and caught him with a Lariat which turned Evans inside-out. Devito and Whitmer then came into the ring, and the three men lifted Evans high into the air before tossing him over the top rope and onto his tag team partners. With the no disqualifications rule in effect for this tournament, the Carnage Crew decided to pull out a table and set it up in the ring. Whitmer caught Evans with the Wrist Clutch Exploder, and then gave him to the Crew, who were setting up for the Carnage Driver when two women climbed over the guardrail and distracted them. Devito dropped Evans and started yelling at one of the women, while Loc went outside and argued with the other. Whitmer tried to grab Devito's attention, but was attacked from behind by Aries, who nailed the Brainbuster and then sent him to the floor, while Strong climbed up to the top rope and put Devito through the table with an Avalanche Style Back Suplex. Loc heard the crash and turned his attention toward the ring just in time to be taken out by a Flipping Dive from Jack Evans, which allowed Austin Aries to climb the top rope while Strong cleared the debris from the table...and Aries came off with a beautiful 450 Splash to put the finishing touch on the match, as he picked up the three count.

First Round

Six Man Tag Team Match

Steve Corino and the Second City Saints Vs Camp Cornette w/ Jim Cornette

-Before this match could start, Jim Cornette came out with Joey Matthews and a microphone. Cornette announced that Matt Sydal had suffered a very serious concussion, and that Camp Cornette is behind him 100% during his recovery. Cornette then announced that he had chosen two new, young stars to join Camp Cornette from this match forward... former Texas Wrestling trainee Eddie Vegas...and one of Canada's best young prospects, Kevin Steen.

The match started with Colt Cabana toying with the much smaller, and legally blind, Eddie Vegas. The fans got behind the Extreme Saints team with Cabana's shenanigans, but Camp Cornette became enraged. Vegas managed to make the tag out to Kevin Steen, who came in and took Colt to the ground and began to throw punches without heed. Colt fought his way back up to a standing position, but Steen grabbed on and connected with a Belly to Belly Suplex, and went back to the attack, throwing punches at Colt's face. Cabana rolled onto his stomach, and Steen grabbed on with a Chokehold, but Punk came in placed a boot hard in Steen's head. Punk and Steen went at it for awhile until Matthews came in. Matthews and Steen double teamed Punk well, and then did the same to Corino, but Camp Cornette couldn't keep the advantage, and it all fell apart at once, as each member of the Extreme Saints team connected with one of their trademark moves on one of their opponents; with Corino hitting a Superkick on Matthews, Punk hitting the Devil Lock DDT on Vegas, and Cabana connecting with the Colt .45 on Steen for the pinfall.

Winner: Steve Corino and the Second City Saints at 7:48

Tag Team Match

Alex Shelley and Josh Daniels Vs Anthony Franco and Evan Starsmore

-Shelley was coming off of two heart-wrenching losses that saw his Title Petition dropped, and came into this match with a viciousness in him that he hasn't shown since being turned on by his former Generation Next teammates. Josh Daniels was making his return to Ring of Honor, and couldn't have picked a better time, as he and Shelley completely dominated the ROH students in this bout. Franco and Starsmore tried their hardest to make tags and pick up the advantage, and almost had it at one point after connecting with a double team Suplex on Shelley, but The Talent on Loan From God got right back up and caught Franco in the head with a running Knee Strike, and then took out Starsmore with the Shellshock. Shelley then applied the Border City Stretch to Franco for the tapout victory as Daniels flew off the top rope with a Swandive Headbutt on Starsmore.

Six Man Tag Team Match

The Rottweillers w/ Julius Smokes Vs Puma and the Ring Crew Express

-The team of Reyes and Romero made their first appearance here since losing the ROH Tag Team Titles on 2/19, and the Notorious 187 was also coming off of a loss on 2/26 to Bryan Danielson. The Rottweillers and Smokes all looked to be in the zone in this match, and came out very aggressively, which proved to be an advantage at first, as they completely dominated their much smaller opponents in the beginning, but a slip-up by Romero, which saw him miss a running Kneedrop allowed Dunn to tag in Puma, who knows all three Rottweillers very well. Puma came in and went right after Romero, cutting him off from his corner by hitting a basement Dropkick to the knee, and then pulling him to the opposite corner. Puma worked on the knee a bit, but then tried for a Spinning Heel Kick into the corner, which Romero caught, and then turned into a Blue Thunder Bomb for a two count. Romero tagged out to Homicide, who came in and killed Puma with a vicious Lariat. Dunn and Marcos both came in and received Lariats of their own, but this allowed Puma time to get up, and the young star connected with a Tiger Suplex on Homicide for a two count. Puma caught Homicide charging in with a Superkick, and then set up for and delivered the Skull Crusher, but Reyes and Romero broke up the count. The Rottweillers pulled Puma up and tried for the Cuban Execution, but Dunn and Marcos stopped that from happening and hit a Double Superplex on Romero. Reyes tried for a Fisherman's Buster, but Marcos blocked it, and the Express connected with a double team DDT, followed by the Stage Dive off of Marcos' shoulders onto both Reyes and Romero. The Ring Crew Express celebrated with Puma and did air guitar as the fans cheered them on, but Homicide leveled Puma from behind with a Lariat to the back of the head, then hit a Yakuza Kick on Marcos, and finished Dunn off with the Cop Killah, pinning him by placing his foot on his chest for the cover.

First Round

Six Man Tag Team Match

Team ROH Vs Team SSE

-The team of Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson and Jay Lethal waited in the ring as James Gibson and Spanky introduced their partner and the newest WWE star to receive his release "after being shafted by "Creative" for years"... STEVIE RICHARDS. Richards came running out of the entrance way and slid into the ring. Stevie took the mic and told the fans that they can stop watching Heat, because he's here in Ring of Honor now. The match got under way with Danielson and Spanky going at it for the first time in several years. Danielson gained the advantage, taking Spanky to the mat and almost applying the Cattle Mutilation, but Spanky fought his way out and then connected with a Dropkick to the back of the neck. Gibson came in and worked over the neck of Danielson, but the American Dragon reversed out of a German Suplex and hit one of his own, allowing himself to tag out to Joe, who came in and stiffed Gibson into the corner, where he hit a series of Palm Strikes before connecting with a running Lariat into the corner. Joe tried for another Lariat, but Gibson ducked underneath and hit a release German Suplex, and then tagged in Stevie Richards, who came in and set up for the Stevie Kick, only to get caught by Joe and hit with a vicious looking Spinebuster.

Joe tagged in Lethal, and the young star came in and hit a Double Underhook Suplex, followed by a Snap Suplex, but couldn't connect with a Gordbuster, as Richards blocked the move, connected with a knee to the gut of Lethal, and then hit a beautiful stalling Vertical Suplex. Richards tagged out to Spanky, and the team of former WWE stars was on the advantage. Spanky connected with a Standing Dropkick, and then tagged in Gibson, who hit the Tennessee Jam for a two count. Gibson and Lethal went back and forth on the mat a bit before Gibson hit a vicious knee to the face, and then tried to apply the Front Choke submission. Lethal tried to fight the move off, and managed to make the tag to Joe. Joe came in and went blow for blow with Gibson. Samoa Joe finally got the advantage and tried for the Island Driver, but Gibson blocked it, and then hit a chop block to the injured knee of the former champion. Joe crumpled in a heap as Gibson exposed his weak leg and went to work on it. Team SSE made some quick tags as they worked over Joe's leg, but Joe finally fought them off, as Spanky tried for a Senton Bomb from the second rope and missed. Joe got up and almost took Spanky's head off with a Lariat. Joe made the tag and Danielson came in and cleaned house. The end of the match saw Danielson tag out to Lethal, who came into the ring with Stevie Richards down and out. Lethal called for the end, and set up for what appeared to be a Suplex like move, but Richards blocked it and hit a low blow before rolling him up in a Small Package for the three count and the win.

Six Man Mayhem Match

Trent Acid Vs Azrieal Vs Delirious Vs B-Boy Vs Jimmy Jacobs Vs Dixie

-The King of the Multi-Man matches, Trent Acid, made his return to multi-man competition after being absolutely destroyed by Samoa Joe just a couple of weeks ago. B-Boy, making his ROH main show debut, was looking to impress, and he did just that, trying to keep himself in the ring as much as he could to show exactly what it is that he can offer to Ring of Honor. Jimmy Jacobs looked more straight forward in this match, having dropped the furry boots and headband. The crowd began a chant of "Huss" but Jacobs just gave them the finger and told them to grow up. Azrieal and Dixie worked well as a team in this match, but eventually ended up facing each other. Dixie hit Azrieal with a Roaring Forearm, but Azrieal responded with one of his own, and then hit a Scoop Powerslam for a two count. Delirious tried to get Jimmy Jacobs to be in more of a fun mood, but Jacobs shook him off and beat him into the corner, even connecting with the Contra Code for a two count which was broken by B-Boy. The match broke down, with all six men in the ring at the same time, but it ended up with B-Boy and Azrieal exchanging blows while the other four men were on the outside. Azrieal gained the advantage, and tried for the Morningstar (a Sit Down Leg Hook Death Valley Driver), but B-Boy slid off of his back, placed a boot in his gut, and then connected with the Cross-Special Brainbuster for the three count while Acid was trying to get back into the ring.

Announcement

-Gary Michael Cappetta made his way out to the ring with the announcement regarding the first known participants in the Best of the American Super Juniors tournament on 4/2. The first four participants in the tournament were announced as "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson, James Gibson, Jay Lethal, and Black Tiger IV. Cappetta did not make any mention as to who would be under the mask as the new Black Tiger, but the fans did pop big for the announcement.

Second Round

Six Man Tag Team Match

Steve Corino and the Second City Saints Vs Generation Next

-The semi-finals of the tournament opened up with Corino and the Saints taking on GenNext and the ROH World Champion Austin Aries. Strong and Evans made quick tags in and out to start the match as they tried to gain an early advantage by separating Cabana from his corner. Cabana made his way over to his corner and tagged in Punk, who came in on fire, took out both Evans and Strong, and then demanded that Aries come in the ring. The Champion teased facing off with the man that he would meet on 4/16 for his Title, but just as he put one foot through the ropes, Strong came in from behind and nailed Punk in the back of the head with a stiff elbow shot, followed by a quick release German Suplex, which he then let lead into a neck submission. Strong worked over Punk for a few minutes before tagging into Aries, who used the ropes to slingshot himself in with a Twisting Body Splash for a two count. Aries put the boots to Punk, and then slapped him around a bit. Punk tried to get up to his feet, but Aries caught him with a running Dropkick to the face. Aries let Punk get up, then connected with the Macho Neck Snap over the top rope. The Champion then tagged in Evans, who connected with a Springboard Firebird Splash for a two count that was broken by Corino. Corino pulled Punk over to their corner, but Evans connected with a running kick to his face, and then pulled Punk back to the middle of the ring, where he hit a Standing Moonsault, followed by a Standing Shooting Star Press for another near-fall. Corino finally got into the ring, and did some damage, but went face to face with Strong, which proved to be a mistake, as Aries attacked him from behind. Aries connected with a Brainbuster on Corino, and told Evans to go up for the 630, but Punk stopped that. Cabana and Aries fought to the outside. Punk took out Strong with a Shining Wizard, and then climbed up top, where he set up Evans, and then delivered an absolutely sick looking Pepsi Plunge for the three count.

Second Round

Six Man Tag Team Match

The Rottweillers w/ Julius Smokes Vs Team SSE

-After stealing a victory in the first round, the team of Spanky, James Gibson and Stevie Richards were put up against the Rottweillers. Romero started the match out against Stevie. Richards cheated at several points, trying to pick up an early victory, but Romero continued to kickout. Despite kicking out, Homicide was furious with Romero and tagged himself into the match. The Notorious 187 went absolutely ape-shit here, attacking Richards with no regard for anything, as he just beat him viciously into the corner, and then hit a Facewash, followed by a running knee into the corner. Homicide pulled a string out of his boot, and choked Richards with it until the referee pulled him off. While the ref was giving Homicide hell for cheating, Richards crawled over to the corner and made the tag to Gibson. Stevie's face was bleeding, but you couldn't tell where from. Gibson and Homicide went blow for blow, until 'Cide got fed up with it and hit the ropes, trying for a Yakuza Kick, but Gibson ducked under it and came back with a boot to the gut, followed by a Tiger Driver out of nowhere for a two count. Reyes tagged in and went at it with Gibson for several minutes, but SSE cut him off from his corner and double teamed him for awhile. The match continued with both teams cutting off their opponents, and then making hot tags, and doing the same thing again, until Romero was eventually forced to tap out by a Front Choke from James Gibson. When Rocky tapped to the move, Homicide looked furious and screamed at him.

As Gibson, Richards and Spanky celebrated their win, Homicide came into the ring and spat on Romero while Smokes and Reyes held him back from doing anything else.

Winner: Team SSE at 9:58

ROH Pure Championship

Singles Match

Jimmy Rave © w/ Prince Nana Vs Shane Hagadorn

-Before the match could get under way, Prince Nana offered Hagadorn one of two choices. He could either lay down for Jimmy Rave, and receive a lump sum of money, or he could embarrass himself against Rave, but get a shot at the ROH Pure Title in the process. The ROH student didn't even contemplate the offer, as he took the fight to Jimmy Rave right away, shaking his hand while he put the boots to him. Hagadorn took it hard to Rave, and dropped an elbow on the Champion's arm. Hagadorn stomped on Rave's arm a bit, and then applied a Cross Armbreaker, but Rave fought his way up, and then drove Hagadorn neck first onto the mat to shake him off. Hagadorn struggled up to his feet, but Rave was already on the attack, as he took him out with a Lariat. Hagadorn got up again, but this time, Rave came off the ropes with the Satellite Crossface. Before Hagadorn could tap out though, Rave let go of the hold, and then hit the ropes again, connecting this time with the Shining Wizard. Rave covered, but pulled up at two, then flipped his opponent over and re-applied the Crossface to the unconscious student, and the ref was forced to call for the bell.

After the bout, Rave and Nana celebrated the victory while the fans boo'd profusely.

Winner: Jimmy Rave at 6:22

Final Round

Six Man Tag Team Match

Steve Corino and the Second City Saints Vs Team SSE

-Each man made a separate entrance in this match, as he would come down to the ring, step inside, and then declare what he would do with his choice of a match should he win this tournament. In order of ring entry, this is what was said:

Colt Cabana: Rematch with Austin Aries for the ROH World Title.

James Gibson: First-ever match against Austin Aries for the ROH World Title.

Steve Corino: Shot at the ROH World Title.

Spanky: Match against Austin Aries for the World Title.

CM Punk: A match against Jimmy Rave for the Pure Title, in hopes of becoming a double Champion after 4/16.

Stevie Richards: Anything Goes Match against CM Punk, so that he can destroy him and fulfill his purpose in ROH.

Corino started the match against Spanky, gaining the advantage early on, but then becoming arrogant, slapping Spanky in the back of the head while telling him that while Spanky was training, he (Corino) was winning titles all over the world. Spanky fired back at Corino with a hard right hand to break an Arm Wringer, and then tagged in Gibson, who connected with a vicious Knee Lift, which saw Corino's head snap hard off the canvas. Corino tagged out to Cabana before Gibson could gain a real advantage, and the two men locked up. Cabana went with a go-behind, but tried to play with Gibson rather than take the match seriously, and it backfired, as Gibson reversed the waistlock and then tried for a German Suplex. Colt saw it coming though, and blocked the move. The former WWE star tried again, but Cabana blocked again. This time, however, Gibson was ready for it, and when Colt blocked the move, he drove his forearm hard into the back of Cabana's head, sending him hard to the mat. Corino tagged himself back in and went hold for hold with Gibson for a bit, but Gibson got the advantage with a Hammerlock on the mat. Corino tried to make his way to the ropes, but Gibson pulled him back into the center of the ring, and then drove his knee into the arm of Corino, while it was still in the Hammerlock. Gibson worked over the arm some more, and then tagged in Richards. Stevie kept the attack on the arm, and applied an Arm Wringer, but dropped hard to the mat, pulling Corino down with him and driving the shoulder of Corino awkwardly into the canvas. Richards hit a Single Arm DDT for a two count, but couldn't keep Corino down, as he fought his way up, and after a series of right jabs, managed to hit a one-armed STO out of desperation. The fans rallied behind both men as they made their ways to their respective corners for the tags.

Spanky came in, and so did Punk. The two met in the middle of the ring with an exchange of Chops. Punk took the advantage, and scored a very close near-fall with a DDT variation. Spanky tried for the Sliced Bread #2, but Punk saw it coming and dropped him crotch first on the top turnbuckle. Punk went up top and called for the Pepsi Plunge, but Stevie Richards shoved him off the top rope to the steel guardrail below. Richards then waited while Punk struggled to his feet, and then he ran and dove off the apron with a Flying Lariat. The two men then battled into the crowd, and that was the last anyone saw of them for the remainder of the match. Cabana came in, and tried for a Superplex on Spanky, but it was blocked, and Gibson snuck up from behind, catching Colt with a devastating Running Sitout Powerbomb into the opposite corner. Cabana rolled to the outside of the ring, and Corino came in. Spanky went at it with Corino, while Gibson grabbed Colt on the outside. Cabana fought to a standing position, but couldn't actually mount a comeback, and ended up on the receiving end of a Tombstone Piledriver from Gibson on the floor. ROH officials ran out to help Cabana, but the match continued in the ring. Corino was trying his hardest to win the match, and scored many near-falls on Spanky despite being basically one-armed. Corino set up for the Northern Lights Bomb, but Gibson caught him from behind with a forearm. Corino tried to fight off both men, but it was all for nothing, as Gibson caught him with a hard Elbow to the nose, which busted him open, and was followed up by a double team move, which saw Gibson lift Corino for a Powerbomb, and Spanky come off the top rope with a Flying Elbowdrop just after Gibson hit the move. Spanky then covered, and scored the three count to win the match, and the tournament, for his team.

A great diary, with great detail. I'm looking into writing a diary soon, and have been looking at others for inspiration, i was just wondering if you actually use EWR for this diary, because they seem to be quite long.

Newswire for the week of 3/7

March 7: The first four participants for the Best Of American Super Juniors tournament on 4/2 have been announced. Both ROH and New Japan officials agreed on these participants. They are "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson, James Gibson, Jay Lethal and the new Black Tiger. New Japan officials are not telling ROH officials who will be underneath the Black Tiger mask.

March 7: With the win in the Six Man Tag Team Tournament, Team SSE (Screw Sports Entertainment), which consisted of James Gibson, Spanky and the debuting Stevie Richards, have earned each of their respective dream matches. In order of the date which they will happen; James Gibson will take on Austin Aries in Manhattan on 5/7 for the ROH World Title...Spanky will get his shot at the ROH World Title on the second night of the May double header in Chicago Ridge...and also on 5/14, Stevie Richards has been granted his anything goes, Fight Without Honor against CM Punk in Punk's hometown.

March 7: Colt Cabana came to ROH officials this week with an issue stemming from the Tombstone Piledriver he received on the outside of the ring in the main event of the Six Man Tag Team Tournament last weekend. Because of the severity of the move, Cabana felt disrespected by James Gibson, and has challenged him to a Grudge match. ROH officials took fast action to capitalize on the intensity in Cabana's eyes when he asked for the bout, and contacted Gibson immediately, securing the bout to happen on 4/16 in Dorchester.

March 7: Jimmy Rave and Prince Nana dishonored the ROH Pure Championship on 3/5 by offering the title match to an opponent that had not filed a petition for a title shot. Because of this, ROH officials have made the match on 4/16 between Spanky and Nigel McGuinness a number one contender's match to the Pure Title. The winner will face Rave on 5/7 in our Manhattan debut for the title.

March 7: Word coming out of the Rottweillers camp is that Homicide is in kill mode, but nobody knows what from. The Notorious 187 snapped last weekend at Rocky Romero, who was forced to tap out by James Gibson in the semi-finals of the tournament. Julius Smokes claims that everything is fine between his men, but Homicide refused to comment on anything.

March 7: After an amazing performance in the Six Man Mayhem on 3/5, B-Boy has been invited back to ROH, and will make his return at the May Double Shot. The first of his matches for the weekend has already been decided, as the New Age Punisher requested a one on one match-up against the man that came closest to beating him last weekend, Azrieal. The match will take place on the first night of the Double Shot. Look to the newswire here in the future to find out who B-Boy will face on night two of the Double Shot.

March 7: Samoa Joe had some choice words for Stevie Richards backstage after the Six Man Tournament on 3/5. Joe claimed that Richards was a "piece of sh*t" for resorting to a low blow so that he could pin Jay Lethal in the first round of the tournament. Joe challenged Stevie to face him man to man, but Richards refused. Despite his utter refusal to face the big Samoan, you can bet that the issue between Stevie and Joe is far from finished.

March 7: After losing on 3/5 in the first round, the Carnage Crew of Loc and Devito felt the need to issue a formal apology to both the fans, and their partner BJ Whitmer. Both men stated that the match was lost because their wives decided to tag along to the show, and when they saw the table in the ring, wanted their men to have nothing to do with it. The Crew also stated that they can no longer take part in anything "hardcore", because their wives have threatened them with divorce if they do.

March 8: The April 2nd show will now be at the legendary Convention Center in Asbury Park, NJ. For all the details on the venue change go to the main page of ROHwrestling.com. Spanky and Roderick Strong have both been added to the Best Of American The Super Juniors Tournament that night.

March 8: The first match has been officially signed for our 5/7 debut in Manhattan, as "The Notorious 187" Homicide will go one on one in a Dream Match against young Canadian superstar, "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen. With both Julius Smokes and Jim Cornette at ringside, this match looks to be on the verge of a major explosion as they are two of wrestling's most obnoxious personalities. A win in this match for Steen could really cement the youngster's place on the ROH roster, but Homicide has never been one to allow someone to make their name at his expense, and you can bet that he won't be satisfied with anything less than a victory in this match.

March 8: With just over one month until CM Punk meets Austin Aries for the ROH World Title, the two men have been booked by ROH officials to meet in a preview match, just two weeks prior to their title bout, where Punk will team up with Second City Saints partner Colt Cabana to face off with the Champion, Austin Aries and his partner in Generation Next, Jack Evans. There's no doubt that this match will be explosive, as neither man wants to go into their title match with a loss to the other under their belt.

March 10: This Saturday's show in Woodbridge, CT will be headlined by perhaps the biggest tag team match in ROH history as Samoa Joe & new ROH Pure Champion Jay Lethal team up to face CM Punk & Steve Corino. The winners of this match will get a ROH Tag Team Title shot on 4/2. This will mark the first time Punk and Joe oppose each other since their epic "All Star Extravaganza II" match.

March 10: Dan Maff has left Ring of Honor. We wish Dan the best in all future endeavors, and are heavy-hearted in the way everything has gone down over the past several days. With Maff's departure, we are left with a hole to fill in regards to the ROH Tag Team Championships. We understand that the prestige of the titles needs to be taken into consideration, and as such, we have decided to allow Whitmer to choose a replacement partner, and the duo will defend the titles against two members of Camp Cornette on 3/12.

March 10: If Homicide can defeat Bryan Danielson in the Dog Collar match this weekend, he will win the Best of Five series between the two men... but if Homicide cannot put away his nemesis in this fourth bout, then a fifth match will be forced, and will happen inside of the Steel Cage on May 13 in Dayton, Ohio.

March 11: Jim Cornette was obviously disheartened by his team's early removal from the Six Man Tournament, but the self-proclaimed "Greatest Manager of All-Time" said that it's just a minor setback in his plans, as tomorrow night, he gets to choose two of his world-class athletes to go after the ROH Tag Team Championships. Cornette also joked that when he meets up with Heenan on 4/16, his men would put the belts on the line against Heenan's "second-rate team".

March 11: Tomorrow night's show will feature a first time ever match-up between Jack Evans and Spanky. Both men are coming into this bout looking to win, as it would be a major boost for either man to pin his opponent. With Spanky seemingly going after the Pure Championship, a win over Jack Evans would definately help to keep his Title Petition active. On the other end of the spectrum, a win for Evans here could solidify him in the eyes of many as more than just a pretty package. This match will definately be one to keep an eye on.

March 11: NEW INFORMATION. We have news on three matches added to tomorrow night's card, as well as information on one already announced bout. First off, Jimmy Jacobs will look to get himself back on track with a big win over Delirious, but the Lizard Man won't be coming alone tomorrow night, as he's somehow arranged to have the services of the lovely Daizee Haze at ringside. The second match will have The Embassy represented by the tandem of Nigel McGuinness and Oman Turtoga, as they face the Ring Crew Express in tag team action. The third and final match added to the card was added by request, as Roderick Strong looks to ready himself for the Super Juniors tournament by taking on one of the top up and coming Juniors in Ring of Honor today, Azrieal.

Also, we have gotten word that Joey Matthews will not be at the show tomorrow night, which means that the challengers to BJ Whitmer's Tag Team Titles will be Eddie Vegas and Kevin Steen. Whitmer told ROH officials that he HAS chosen his partner, and that it is a man from the ROH locker room, but he refuses to give a name, and due to the stipulations placed by ROH officials around the Tag Team Title situation, Whitmer is allowed to keep his choice secret until the match tomorrow night.

In shocking news, Allison Danger was reportedly seen backstage with ROH student Davey Andrews. Many have speculated that Andrews may possibly be one of the young stars that Danger had said showed interest in joining her new Prophecy, but when asked about it, Andrews' trainer, CM Punk shrugged off the comment, saying simply that Andrews is probably just another one of the guys that Allison has crawled to for help.

OOC: To keep things looking a bit smoother, I'm going to start posting the whole week's worth of newswire stuff in one post, and separate the upcoming cards into their own post. So, my next posting will be with the Upcoming Cards. Thanks for reading.

ROH: The Shape Of Things To Come

CT Sports Center in Woodbridge, Connecticut

Singles Match

Delirious w/ Daizee Haze Vs Jimmy Jacobs

-This match stemmed from an incident on 3/5, where Delirious had tried to have some fun with Jimmy Jacobs in their Six Man Mayhem match, only for Jacobs to get serious and deny Delirious' happy-go-lucky ways. Jacobs grabbed control early on in this match, as he had Delirious' number after connecting with a running Tornado DDT. But the Lizard Man made a comeback with the help of Daizee Haze, who was cheering him on. Daizee got Delirious fired up, and he came back at Jacobs with a series of strikes, followed by a beautiful Neckbreaker. Delirious then kept on the attack, working over Jacobs' back and trying to pin him several times after standard moves like a Knife Edged Chop or Bodyslam. Delirious came in a little too fast though, and fell victim to a massive Headbutt to the groin from Jacobs. Jimmy then took advantage, connecting with a stiff DDT for a two count. Jacobs worked over Delirious' head and neck, setting him up for the Contra Code. Jacobs put the boots to Delirious in the corner, and then pulled him out and connected with a Suplex. After that, he went up top for a Senton Bomb, but Delirious moved out of the way. Delirious set up for a Powerbomb, but Jacobs countered out of it with a Facebuster, which he then used to get a two count. Jacobs set up for the Contra Code, but stopped before starting the move and tried to do it from a standing position. Delirious blocked the attempt however, and then shoved Jimmy up on the top rope. Delirious followed him up and tried for something off the top, but Jacobs shoved him off and sent him crashing down to the mat. With Delirious down, Jacobs tried again for the Senton Bomb, but hit it this time, and scored the three count off of the move.

Winner: Jimmy Jacobs at 7:32

Singles Match

Roderick Strong Vs Azrieal

-With Roderick Strong hoping to participate in the upcoming Best of the American Super Juniors tournament, and Azrieal looking to do both the same thing, and try to break out in ROH, this match was made as a preview of what to expect in the tournament; and it did not disappoint. Strong tried to dominate using his size, but the former Special K member has bulked up a bit himself since leaving the group, and managed to stay closely behind Roderick in the strength department. Strong tried for one of his pattented Backbreakers, but Azrieal fought out of it and connected with an STO for a two count. Azrieal took the advantage, working over the neck of Strong, but Roderick reversed a DDT into a Northern Lights Suplex, and then worked into an STF submission hold. Strong tried to force the early tapout, but Azrieal battled his way out of the move and into a Front Chancery, which he then used to get himself in position to deliver several Knee Strikes to the head of Strong. Azrieal tried for his new Morningstar finishing move, but Strong slid off his back and applied a Cobra Clutch. Strong held onto the move for about a minute, and then lifted Azrieal up into the air, and then drove him back first across his knee for a two count. Strong then pulled him up and hit another Backbreaker variation, this time out of a Suplex. Azrieal clutched at his back, and Strong applied a Bow and Arrow submission, which was broken only when Roderick couldn't manage to keep his shoulders off the mat. Roderick tried for the CX '02, but it was too early, and Azrieal countered it by turning the move into a DDT of his own. Azrieal then hit a Superkick out of desperation, but when he tried to come back again, ran into a Taz-Plex from Roderick, who then pulled him up and hit the CX '03 in the middle of the ring for the convincing victory.

Winner: Roderick Strong at 10:59

ROH Tag Team Titles

Tag Team Match

BJ Whitmer and x defend Vs Camp Cornette w/ Jim Cornette

-The challengers came out to the ring with Jim Cornette carrying his patented tennis racket, and BJ Whitmer came out alone to the sounds of the Stone Temple Pilots. Whitmer grabbed a mic and told Steen and Vegas that he was appreciative of their desire to hold the Tag Team Titles, but that he was nowhere near done with them, and that the man that he has chosen to be his partner will make sure that they keep the belts until the time is right for them both to move on. With that said, BJ Whitmer introduced his brand new tag team partner...the man with "talent on loan from God"..."The Next" Alex Shelley.

Camp Cornette didn't look impressed at all, and the tandem shook hands with their opponents loosely, telling Whitmer that they expected more from him. BJ was set to start the match out against Steen, but because of the way the challengers had been acting towards him, Alex Shelley outstretched his hand and made the tag in. Shelley and Steen took the match to the mat, doing some chain wrestling before Shelley got himself into a mount on top of Steen's back, allowing him to paintbrush the back of the youngster's head, before applying a Side Headlock. Steen rolled back and wrapped his legs around Shelley's neck to break the hold, and then applied some pressure, but Shelley rolled into a pinning predicament, and Steen let go of the hold to break the pin. Both men tagged out, and Vegas used his speed to avoid Whitmer's hard hitting offense, but by doing so, limited his ability to connect with any major moves. Fast Eddie hit a Spinning Heel Kick, but tried for another one right after, and Whitmer caught him, and then planted him with a Backdrop Driver. BJ put the boots to Eddie, but a distraction by Cornette allowed Steen to sneak in an drive Whitmer into the mat with a Half Nelson Suplex. Steen mounted him, and then drove some hard punches into Whitmer's face, but the ref turned around, saw what was going on, and sent Steen back onto the ring apron. The match continued on with Camp Cornette double teaming on Whitmer, including a spot where Eddie hit the Fasteddious, and then Steen followed closely behind with a Senton Bomb for a two count, which was broken only because of Alex Shelley. Shelley took out Vegas, sending him crashing to the outside, but walked right into an Exploder Suplex from "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen. Steen celebrated a bit too much though, and walked into a hard elbow shot from Whitmer, who then connected with the Wrist Clutch Exploder. Whitmer got up and looked to be going for the pin, but was caught with a Missile Dropkick from Eddie Vegas. Vegas then went up top and hit a Moonsault on Whitmer. Vegas pinned, but Shelley applied to the Border City Stretch, and pulled him off of Whitmer. Steen tried to break the hold, but Whitmer grabbed his leg, and Vegas tapped out.

Camp Cornette made their way to the back quietly as Jim Cornette yelled at them abiout the loss. As they walked down the entrance way, a familiar face walked past them out to the ring... it was Allison Danger, and she stepped into the ring. Danger started out by telling BJ that she was sorry for how Maff just left him like he did...but that she would never do that. Allison then asked him to rejoin her in The Prophecy, saying that there is even a place for his new partner if they want it. Whitmer and Shelley acted like they were discussing it, but then they both just turned back around and laughed at her. The new Tag Team Champions just walked right by Allison as she swore to them that they would pay for treating her like a joke, and that "Chris" wouldn't like the way that she's been treated.

Singles Match

James Gibson Vs Rocky Romero

-Both men were looking to pick up wins here. Gibson has a guaranteed title match on 5/7, but needs the win here to keep up the momentum after winning the Six Man Tag Team Tournament one week ago. Romero needs a win here in order to get off of his losing streak after losing the ROH Tag Team Titles recently, and then being forced to tap out by his opponent in this match, eliminating his team from the tournament last week. Romero started out on the offensive, working over Gibson's back, and applying a Mexican Surfboard early in the match. Romero kept on the attack, placing well thrown forearms in the middle of Gibson's back, but Gibson reversed out of a German Suplex attempt, and hit one of his own, sending Romero right onto his head. Gibson recovered and hit a series of Knee Strikes; some to the head, some to the gut. Gibson tried for the Tiger Driver, but Rocky blocked it and hit a Back Body Drop. Romero tried to apply a Camel Clutch, but Gibson got up to his knees, and then to a standing position, and delivered a Stunner variation to Romero, which picked up a two count. Gibson tried to apply his Front Choke, but Romero got to a standing position and turned it into a release Northern Lights Suplex. With both men down, the crowd began a round of applause for the exchange of moves. Romero was back on the offensive, driving Gibson into the corner, and then hitting a series of Knife Edged Chops, but Gibson fought out of the corner with a barrage of right hands. With Romero reeling backward, Gibson unleashed an amazing Lariat for a two count. Gibson then set up for the Tiger Driver again, but Romero blocked it again, this time taking Gibson to the mat with a pinning combination for a two count. The two chain wrestled for control, and just as Rocky thought that he had it, Gibson had locked in the Front Choke submission, and forced Romero once again to tap out to the move.

Winner: James Gibson at 14:15

Tag Team Match

The Embassy w/ Prince Nana Vs The Ring Crew Express

-Nana grabbed a microphone before the match started and spoke about why Oman Turtoga is teaming with Nigel McGuinness tonight, and not his regular partner, Diablo Santiago. Nana said that the reason why Oman was with Nigel, is because The Embassy was on a Wild Boar hunt in West Ghana earlier this week, and Diablo was bitten by a rabid Boar, and had to be taken to the best and most prestigious hospital in all of Africa.

The Ring Crew Express came out energized and full of life as they sang along to "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake. Dunn and Marcos slid into the ring, and Nana looked disgusted when they asked to shake his hand as well. The Prince of West Ghana eventually did shake their hands, but had one of his servants wipe his hands clean afterwards as the fans laughed. Dunn started the match off against Nigel, and showed some good technical skills, but McGuinness easily escaped out of a Wristlock, and then tried to whip him into the corner, but Dunn reversed it and sent Nigel in. McGuinness went in and then did a headstand on the turnbuckle. Dunn came charging in, but Nigel lowered himself in behind him and then drove him into the turnbuckle. McGuinness then applied a Hammerlock and turned it into a DDT variation before tagging in Oman. Turtoga came in and slapped Dunn around a bit, even letting him tag in his partner. Marcos came in, and Turtoga got the upper hand by blocking a punch and taking him to the mat with a vicious chokehold. Oman let go of the move and then started pounding away at Marcos. Turtoga then pulled him up and got him in a Fireman's Carry, tagged in McGuinness, and then dropped Marcos with a Fireman's Carry Slam across the knee of Nigel McGuinness. Nigel worked over the back of Marcos with a few stretches before tagging Oman back in. Turtoga hit a Sitout Powerslam for a two count, but Dunn came in to break it up. The match kept going for a bit before anything major happened, as Nigel hit the Guvnor's Crumpet on Dunn for a two count which was broken up by Marcos. McGuinness tagged in Oman and then went after Marcos on the outside. Marcos managed to hit a Drop Toe Hold into the guardrail on Nigel, and this distracted Turtoga, who was then rolled up by Dunn inside of the ring for the surprise three count.

Singles Match

Spanky Vs Jack Evans

-With Spanky set to face Nigel McGuinness on 4/16 for a shot at the Pure Title, Jack Evans came into this match looking to pick up the win in an effort to get himself a title petition in order to go after the Pure Champion, Jimmy Rave. Spanky and Evans started the match with a breakdancing competition, which Evans undoubtebly won, as Spanky's dancing was horrendous. Evans started the match by taking Spanky to the mat and applying a Side Headlock. Spanky rolled into a pinning combination for a two count, and Evans let go of the hold, and then hit a quick Basement Dropkick to Spanky's face.Evans then hit a Standing Shooting Star Press for a two count, and then went back to the Headlock. Evans showed some good technical skill in this bout, but Spanky out-wrestled him, and ended up on top with an STF, which Evans escaped only because of being near to the ropes. Both men went back and forth as Spanky tried to gain the advantage, but Evans caught him with a Flipping Kick and then a Corkscrew Splash for a two count. Spanky countered a Suplex attempt, and hit one of his own, and then another, followed by what looked to be another, except Spanky pulled Evans down into an Inverted DDT for a very near fall. Spanky set up for the Sliced Bread #2, but Evans shoved him into the corner, and quickly hit one of his own for another two count. Spanky was visibly angry about Evans' using of his move, and let his anger get the best of him, as Jack ducked under a Lariat and hit a Neckbreaker, which he floated over into a pin for a two count. Spanky gained the advantage with a series of strikes, and then hit a massive Yakuza Kick for a two count. Spanky tried for a Suplex move, but Evans rolled him up for a two count. Spanky tried to get up, but Evans used his legs and a quick breakdancing move to hook Spanky's legs and roll him up again, this time for the three count.

After the match, Spanky reluctantly shook the hand of Jack Evans, but when he did, he raised the GenNext's member's arm in the air and told the fans that Evans was "one to watch", but that he (Spanky) just needs to get his head on straight before his next match.

Winner: Jack Evans at 14:09

Tag Team Match

CM Punk and Steve Corino Vs Samoa Joe and Jay Lethal

-This match started off ultra-competitive, as every time one man would seem to start gaining the advantage, the man on the losing end would make the tag out, and we'd be right back where we started, at a standoff. The first big close fall in the match came when Lethal connected with a Dragon Suplex on Punk, who managed to somehow kickout. Joe and Lethal managed to separate Punk from his corner and make some tags to keep a fresh man in at all times against the man that they were wearing down. Joe hit the Facewash in the corner, as well as a hard Back Suplex, and Lethal hit a Diving Headbutt, but neither man could seem to put Punk away. Corino rallied the fans behind his partner from his corner, and Punk began to mount a comeback, catching Joe with a series of hard Chops, followed by a DDT, but Joe got right back up and hit a Belly to Belly Suplex for another two count. Joe tagged out to Lethal, and his protoge came in and kept Punk on the mat with a mounted Sleeper. Punk fought his way up though, and almost had his way out, but Lethal took him to the mat with a Side Headlock Takeover. Punk fought out of that though, and hit a Backdrop Driver out of desperation. Joe got the fans behind his partner, and Corino did the same. Lethal made the tag first, but Punk dove toward his corner to make the tag, only to have Corino drop to the floor and flip him the finger. Punk didn't know what to make of what had just happened, and was taken from behind by Joe, who connected with an STO for a two count. Joe beat Punk into his corner, and hit yet another Facewash, and then tagged in Jay Lethal, who came in, hit a series of Knife Edged Chops, and then connected with a Dragon Suplex to pick up the victory for his team.

After the match, Steve Corino continued to keep his gaze on his partner, but when Punk finally got up and tried to confront him, Corino merely just walked away, leaving both CM Punk and the fans in shock.

Winner: Samoa Joe and Jay Lethal at 17:16

Best of Five Series

Dog Collar Match

Homicide (2) w/ Julius Smokes Vs Bryan Danielson (1)

-This would be the fourth match in the Best of Five series between The Notorious 187 and The American Dragon. Coming into this match, Homicide was up two-to-one in the series, and only needed a win here to secure the win in the series. The two men didn't even wait until they were both wearing their collars, as Homicide was the only man to get his collar put on by the referee. Danielson and Homicide brawled out of the ring, but stayed away from the crowd. Danielson tried to whip Homicide into the guardrail, but he blocked it and sent Danielson hard into the ringsteps. Homicide grabbed Danielson by the throat and forced the collar onto him, which then allowed him to pull up on the chain, choking Danielson. Homicide continued the assault on his opponent while J-Train ran his mouth about how Homicide was going to win this match. Homicide rolled Danielson into the ring and followed. The Notorious 187 put the boots to Danielson, but he got carried away, and Dragon yanked him hard into the turnbuckle, turning the tide and stomping away at Homicide. The fight continued for several more minutes before Danielson busted Homicide open by nailing him with a hard right hand using the chain around his fist. Danielson kept on with this attack until his hand hurt too much, and he removed the chain from his fist, revealing a bloodied and bruised hand. Danielson covered, but only received a two count. Danielson looked to be in control from this point on, as he absolutely brutalized Homicide with the steel chain. Danielson hit a Double Underhook Suplex onto the chain, and then went up top for a Diving Headbutt, but as he came off the top rope, Homicide held up part of the chain and Danielson's head crashed hard into it, busting him open as well. Homicide covered up for a two count, but Danielson kicked out. Homicide tried for the Cop Killa, but Danielson blocked it and took him to the mat with the Cattle Mutilation. Danielson looked to have the match in the bag, but Smokes distracted the referee and a man came in through the crowd wearing a black ski mask, carrying a baseball bat. The man slid into the ring, wound up, and delivered a home run shot to Danielson's ribs, allowing Homicide to recover and apply an STF on Danielson. 'Cide cranked back on the move while the man ran off through the crowd, and Smokes let the ref go just in time to see Danielson tap out, awarding the match and series to Homicide.

As Danielson was being helped to the back, Homicide was helped up by Smokes, who handed him a microphone. Homicide then spoke about how there has been a lot going on in his life, and how now that he's finished with Danielson, he can concentrate on what matters...winning his first ROH Title. Smokes tried to take the microphone, but 'Cide grabbed it back again, and spoke about how a "personal issue" has put him into "kill mode", and how anyone who steps in his way now will end up D.O.A.

Winner: Homicide at 25:56

that was a great show Gabriel, like always. I really enjoyed the main event, though I would have liked to have seen it last a little longer. I didn't expect Homicide to come out with the win, totally out of left field (it'll also shut up all those people who think best of # series matches don't end early). I also like what you did with the tag-team titles, the team of Alex Shelley and BJ Whitmer would be simply great.

keep up the good work, as always
