Worst Game to Film Adaptation

I'm gonna have to go with House of the Dead. All it was was techno and people shooting things. If I really wanted that, I would have played the game, not wach the movie.

And the sad thing is, the guy after making that travesty is allowed to make Alone in the Dark which apparently is just as bad if not worse. And guess what? He's lined up to make 3 more fuckin' movies. Uwe Boll is a travesty to the world of movies and should be shot.

I haven't seen Mario since it was released years ago, but I can't really remember anything stick out about it except Dennis Hopper, which I woud mark as a bigger tragedy than Raul in Street Fighter. I can and have watched SF multiple times, and Mortal Kombat was okay. The Resident Evil film was probably the best that I can think of, though I haven't seen the sequal. Final Fantasy was amazing from a graphical standpoint, but there wasn't any substance to it.

I can't believe no-one has mentioned Tomb Raider yet :P

Super Mario Brothers AND Mortal Kombat 2, tie all the way. Street Fighters and Double Dragon were bad too,but watchable.I've heard a lot of bad things about Alone in the Dark, but havn't seen it yet.

Also, I am making it a point to see House of the Horror,I never knew this movie existed!!!

Oh God... Just saw the Bloodrayne trailer... Anyone seen this yet?

Another one of Uwe Boll's "masterpieces"... It'll probably suck, despite having good actors in it... Fuck, one of the trailer's/movie's highlights is a fucking sex scene, which Boll has talked about many times in interviews I've read. Maybe I'm on the wrong here, but when someone promotes a movie (not a porn movie, but a action movie) for its sex scenes, I think something's very wrong with the movie itself. Gah. I wish Uwe Boll would disappear from the filmmaking industry.

House of the Dead made me want to stab my eyes out with a old used dildo. Seriously, it was so bad that I stopped watching Zombie movies for weeks, and had to watch the Living Dead Trilogy about 3 times to get over it. Horrible, Horrible movie. Uwe Boll is the Devil.

I thought both Mortal Kombat movies were extraordinarily shitty, except the second one was shittier than the first.

I have to admit though, I didn't think the Wing Commander movie was as bad as people made out. Well, yeah, its a below average movie, but its one of the least shitty game to movies.

I still rank Final Fantasy as one of the least fulfilling movies though. Its a much bigger disappointment than the other movies I saw because I went into it expecting much more. The graphics and voice acting were top notch, but the storyline is just completely unabsorbing.

Street Fighter hands down, they didn't even shoot balls of power from there hands. The only real connection to the game was that green monster guy. Game rocked, movie blew rocks

I definitely agree with the worst being House of the Dead, without a doubt.

I haven't seen Alone in the Dark, and will never pay money to do so if I can at all help it, but HotD wasn't even a terrible video game movie alone, but a terrible movie, PERIOD.

Like a lot of these other movie mentioned are poor adaptations, but HotD failed on so, so many levels. There is barely even a house in the thing. Mario Bros. didn't include game footage inter-spliced with live action at any point, did it?

How about random Matrix effects for no reason other than to have Matrix effects?

Why does Uwe Boll get to make movies, while directors like Terry Gilliam get projects put on hold, or flat-out cancelled? I think the answer rhymes with Dazi Bold... :shifty:

I liked the Final Fantasy movie. <_<

Anyways, I actually couldn't think of any videogame movies that are good. I have high hopes for Spy Hunter though.

Oh and I'm looking forward to the Silent Hill movie as it is written by the guy who co-wrote Pulp Fiction and Rules of Attraction and is directed by the guy who made The Brotherhood of the Wolf.

I am looking forward to that as well as I was a huge fan of the first two flicks (just look at my top 10) and I've heard good things about the third. And if there's anybody who has at least enough of a clue to write an adaptation like that, I'd go with Roger Avary.
