VENUE: MetroCentre, Rockford, Illinois

HOSTED BY: Jerry Lawler & Jim Ross

RAW kicks off with a montage recapping the 20 man #1 contender’s battle royal from last week, which some interferences from Shawn Michaels, distracting Triple H long enough for Chris Jericho top eliminate him and pick up the win! The usual pryo display leads us into Jerry “The King” Lawler & Jim Ross welcoming us to the show, which is LIVE from the MetroCentre in Rockford, Illinois. JR & The King go over the card for tonight’s show. They then talk about how signed, just before RAW went on the air by RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff, a huge 3-on-2 handicap match, putting Batista, Randy Orton, & Ric Flair of Evolution against the World Tag-Team champions Chris Benoit & Edge! Last week Orton came out during the World Tag-Team titles match against Batista & Flair, and gave Edge the RKO at ringside. Even with the interference, Benoit was able to pick up the win, retaining the titles. This leads us into our first curtain jerker of the night…

3-on-2 Handicap Match

Batista, Randy Orton, & Ric Flair vs. Chris Benoit & Edge

Batista, Randy Orton, & Ric Flair of Evolution make their way down to the ring first to nothing but boos from the crowd. A few cheers for Flair, but nothing more. Orton acts a little cocky to a few fans in the front row. Out next is one half of the World Tag-Team champions, Edge. Edge gets a huge pop from the crowd, as he makes his way down to the ring, getting the crowd all riled up. He stops halfway down the entrance ramp, as Evolution taunt him to enter the ring alone. Edge decides to wait for his tag-team partner, one half of the World Tag-Team champions, and also the World Heavyweight champion, Chris Benoit. Benoit comes out to a monstrous pop from the crowd. He gets halfway down the ramp way, stopping next to Edge. Benoit & Edge stare down Evolution in the ring for a minute. They rush the ring, and this match starts out with a big brawl. Evolution quickly gets the upper hand in the match with the numbers game. Batista & Orton double team Edge in the corner of the ring while Benoit & Flair exchange some vicious chops to the chest. The match finally gets down to both Benoit & Orton locking up as the bell sounds to officially start the match. Evolution continue to get the upper hand throughout the match.

They all work on wearing down Benoit. Benoit slowly starts to fight back, and even locks on the Crippler Crossface on Orton. Flair is able to break the submission. Benoit then heads up to the top turnbuckle, but gets cut off by Batista. Orton nails Benoit with a huge superplex. Benoit is finally able to make the hot tag to Edge, who comes in the match cleaning house. Edge nails Batista with a Edgecution, followed by the Spear on Orton, and finally the locking Flair up in the Edgecator! Batista nails Edge from behind, forcing him to break the hold, he then sends him into the ropes with an irish whip. Edge comes running off the ropes, and right into a huge standing spinebuster! Batista turns around, and gets his feet swept out from underneath him by Benoit, who locks on the sharpshooter. Benoit wrenches in the submission hold, until Orton comes out of nowhere with the RKO! Orton goes for the pin fall attempt, but Benoit kicks out at the two. The crowd go crazy as Edge catches Orton with yet another Spear! Benoit crawls over, makes the pin, and gets the win, beating all three members of Evolution. After the match, Benoit & Edge celebrate. The referee raises both their hands in victory.

Winner(s): Chris Benoit & Edge

Backstage: we are taken to the parking lot of the arena where we see the shocking arrival of the suspended Shawn Michaels! The crowd goes crazy at the sight of Michaels. Michaels comes walking into the arena with a big smile on his face.

----COMMERCIAL----

Backstage: all of Evolution come busting into Eric Bischoff’s office. Bischoff’s assistant Johnny Nitro doesn’t stick around and he hightails it out of the room. Triple H backs Bischoff up into the wall and demands to know why Shawn Michaels is in the arena, when he should be suspended. It would be the second time Bischoff has let Michaels slip into the arena undetected! Bischoff apologize to Trips, but says that Michaels went over his head, and straight to the WWE board of directors to get himself reinstated last week. Trips flips out, and has to be calmed down by Batista, Randy Orton, & Ric Flair. Bischoff knows that Trips is angry, and gives him permission to take whatever measures he feels is necessary against Michaels tonight! Trips gets a big smile on his face, and says that Michaels will wish that he didn’t come back to RAW.

Backstage: Lita is in the women’s locker room going through her bags. Trish Stratus comes walking in and starts laughing at Lita. Lita asks if Trish has a problem? Trish makes fun of Lita and the whole Kane situation. Lita gets in Trish’s face, when Matt Hardy comes in. He’s got to hold the two back, as a catfight is about to irrupt. Christian & Tyson Tomko come busting into the room. Matt checks to make sure Lita is alright. Christian tells Matt to keep his bitch on a tighter leash next time! Matt tries to attack Christian, but Tomko gets in his face. Lita convinces Matt to drop it, and the two leave. Christian & Trish laugh, then start making out.

----COMMERCIAL----

Backstage: Batista & Triple H are shown walking down the hallways of the arena looking for the whereabouts of Shawn Michaels. Trips questions a few people, but no one has seen him. Batista ends up pushing the people out of the way, telling them to move it or lose it, as the search continues for the “Heartbreak Kid”.

Tag-Team Match

Hurricane & Rosey vs. La Résistance

This match starts out with La Resstance coming down to the ring to sing the French-Canadian National Anthem. As Rob Conway & Sylvan Grenier get ready to sing, they are cut off by the entrance of the Hurricane & Rosey. This turns out to be a very decent tag-team match between both teams. Hurricane almost picks up the early win after hitting Sylvan with the Overcast from the top rope! Conway & Sylvan double team Rosey throughout the match, making sure he doesn’t make the hot tag to Hurricane. Rosey is finally able to make the tag, and Hurricane comes in cleaning house. He lays out Sylvan, then nails Conway with the Eye of the Hurricane! Sylvan gets to his knees as Hurricane comes running off the ropes nailing the Shinning Black! Hurricane still isn’t able to pick up the pin fall. It’s cut short by Conway. The referee gets distracted with Rosey complaining that La Résistance is cheating during the match. While the referee’s back is turned, Conway nails Hurricane over the back with the French flag! Sylvan rolls-up Hurricane for the win. Conway & Sylvan quickly exit the ring, and celebrate on their way to the backstage area. Rosey helps Hurricane back to his feet in the ring.

Winner(s): La Résistance

[61%] [63%] [73%]

Backstage: Batista & Triple H are still unable to find Shawn Michaels. Trips thinks that he might not even be in the arena still, gotten scared, and left! Randy Orton & Ric Flair come walking up to inform Trips that they haven’t had any luck finding Michaels either. Batista sees a television monitor with Michaels on it. Michaels is seen walking down one of the hallways in the arena, he stops and talks with a few wrestlers, then continuing on down the way. Trips flips out, and smashes the monitor on the ground, busting it into peaces. Evolution go chasing after Michaels.

----COMMERCIAL----

It’s time for yet another rendition of the Highlight Reel. Chris Jericho comes out to a huge pop from the crowd. He makes his way down to the ring, and enters. Jericho picks up a microphone from one of the chairs set up in the ring as part of the Highlight Reel set. The crowd start up a “Y2J” chant. Jericho smiles, and thanks everyone for the warm welcome. He talks about how he won the huge 20 man over-the-top rope battle royal last week by eliminating Triple H. Jericho talks about his career, and how he has a lot of history with Chris Benoit. The two have traveled up and down the road together many times, they are such good friends that they are more like family then anything else. Jericho knows that he and Benoit will put on a excellent match against one another at Bad Blood, it won’t be about bad blood between the two of them come the pay-per-view, it will be about the two of them fighting for the top prize in the sport today, the World Heavyweight championship! That’s when Jericho gets ready to introduce his special guest, which was going to be Benoit, but out comes Triple H followed by Batista. Jericho watches as the two of them make their way down to the ring. Once in the ring, Trips grabs the microphone out of Jericho’s hands. Trips talks about how he’s been looking everywhere for Shawn Michaels, and that there is no way that he can be in the arena still. He challenges Michaels to come out, but he won’t, because he doesn’t have the guts. Trips talks about how Jericho is gutless, gutless enough to jump a man from behind when he isn’t paying attention, costing him the victory, and the chance to become #1 contender! This doesn’t set over well with Jericho, and he gets up in Trips’ face. Trips says that Jericho doesn’t deserve the World Heavyweight title shot at Bad Blood, he does! The two are now face-to-face in the middle of the ring with the crowd going crazy chanting for “Y2J”. At this time, out comes RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff. Bischoff has a microphone in hand, and tells both men not to lay a hand on one another. He says that they’ll have to save it for later tonight. Bischoff says that he saw Michaels distract Trips last week during the battle royal, and technically he was still suspended at the time, and it was to Trips unfair advantage that Jericho eliminated him. That’s why tonight, he has signed a #1 contender’s match between both Jericho & Trips. Whoever wins the match, will be the official #1 contender, and will go onto face Benoit for the World title at Bad Blood! Jericho & Trips both agree to the match, and continue to stare one another down in the ring.

----COMMERCIAL----

Backstage: Christian, Tyson Tomko, & Trish Stratus come walking into Eric Bischoff’s office. Bischoff asks what he can do for them? Christian demands to know why he hasn’t gotten a shot at any gold as of late? He even talks about how he beat Chris Jericho at WrestleMania XX in Madison Square Garden, so that should make him #1 contender, instead of Y2J. Bischoff says that he can’t do anything for Christian this week, due to him being injured, so next week he’s booking a #1 contender’s match, if Christian wins, he’ll get a shot at the Intercontinental title. Christian thanks Bischoff, and leaves the office with a big smile on his face.

Singles Match

Grandmaster Sexay vs. Kane

Grandmaster Sexay comes out to a huge pop from the crowd. He comes dancing his way out to the ring, getting the crowd on their feet. As he enters the ring, his opponent is out next. Fire explodes from entrance way as Kane comes making his way out to the ring. Kane enters the ring and jumps GMS. This turns out to be nothing but an ordinary squash match. The crowd boo as Kane continues to the beat down on GMS throughout the match. GMS tries to get some offense, but ends up taking a huge big boot to the face. Kane climbs to the top turnbuckle, jumps, and nails a huge flying clothesline. He gets to his feet, and stocks GMS as he stumbles to his feet, right into a Chokeslam. Kane follows up with a Tombstone for the finish, giving him the 1...2...3. The bell sounds, and Kane grabs a microphone. Kane cuts a promo on how Lita said “yes” last Monday night, and now it’s time for her to give him what he wants. The crowd go crazy as Matt Hardy comes out of the crowd attacking Kane from behind! The two end up brawling back and forth with Kane getting the upper hand on Matt. Kane grabs Matt by the throat when Lita comes running out from the back begging him to not hurt Matt, after she already gave him her answer. Kane drops Matt, who falls to the mat holding his neck. Lita slowly backs her way back up the entrance ramp as Kane follows with a big smile on his face. Kane begins to eye Lita up and down, as he continues to follow her. Lita has a scared look on her face, and begins to cry as she disappears behind the curtain, with Kane following close behind.

Winner: Kane

Michael Cole talks about it being the SD! coming off the huge Judgment Day pay-per-view where Eddie Guerrero successfully defended his WWE title against John Bradshaw Layfield in a grueling no disqualification match. Eddie came out to celebrate his victory at the start of the show, but got cut off by Paul Heyman & The Dudley Boyz. It turned out that they were the mystery person(s) who attacked Eddie a week earlier. That’s when JBL attacked Eddie from behind! This set up a huge six man tag-team match for the main event, which saw JBL & The Dudley Boyz win over Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, & Rob Van Dam. The show came to an end with The Undertaker coming out to save Eddie, Rey, & RVD from a beat down from the apposing team. This coming Thursday night it will be Eddie vs. JBL in a rematch from Judgment Day for the WWE title!

WWE Women’s Title Match

Molly Holly vs. Victoria ©

Victoria comes out to a decent pop from the crowd. She is now sporting a new entrance. The match starts off with Molly Holly tricking Victoria into a lock-up, but kicks her in the stomach to get the advantage. Molly tries everything to pick up the win over Victoria during the match so that she can win the belt. Molly even tries to use the Women’s title, but the referee catches her before she’s able to use it. While the referee puts the title away, Victoria nails Molly with a Widow’s Peak, but it takes the referee to long to make the count, that Molly is able to kick out. Victoria heads to the top turnbuckle for a moonsault, but Molly is able to roll out of the way. Molly climbs to the top turnbuckle, jumps, but misses the Molly-Go-Round. When Molly landed the move, she landed wrong on her foot, and ended up injuring it. Victoria ends the match quickly with the fast roll-up. Victoria celebrates her win as Molly is helped backstage by trainers.

Winner: Victoria

Backstage: Eric Bischoff & Johnny Nitro are talking in his office when Shelton Benjamin comes busting in wanting a shot at some gold. Bischoff asks if Benjamin really thinks he’s proven himself on the RAW brand, that he disserves a shot at championship gold? Benjamin tells Bischoff that he’s beaten Triple H three times, one, two, three in the middle of the ring, he’s even beaten the 16 time World Heavyweight champion Ric Flair! Bischoff still thinks that Benjamin isn’t ready, or proven himself yet. Benjamin starts to get frustrated, and tells Bischoff that he could even shit kick his little assistant all over the arena if he needed to. Nitro whispers something into Bischoff’s ear. Bischoff gets a big smile on his face, then tells Benjamin that he’ll get his shot at gold, next week, if he beats his mystery opponent, next! Benjamin gets excited, and leaves his office. Bischoff turns to Nitro, and tells him to get Benjamin’s opponent ready.

----COMMERCIAL----

Backstage: Todd Grisham is standing by with Eugene & William Regal. Eugene is off in the background mimicking The Rock, doing his catchphrases. Grisham says that earlier today Jonathan Coachman laid out a challenge to face Eugene & his new best friend the Rock to a tag-team match against him and a partner later tonight, but the bad thing is the Rock isn’t scheduled to appear on RAW. This doesn’t set over well with the crowd. Regal says that he knows what The Coach has planned, so that’s why he’ll be officially taking Rock’s place in the match as Eugene’s partner. Eugene comes up thanking Regal for being his partner, then gives him a big hug. Just then, Johnny Nitro comes walking up. Nitro reminds Regal that he isn’t apart of the active roster, as he hasn’t been reinstated by Eric Bischoff, so that means Eugene will either have to find a replacement partner, or will be going out alone tonight! Eugene is sad, and doesn’t want Regal to not be his partner. Regal tells Eugene that everything will be alright, and they’ll find someone.

Singles Match

? ? ? ? vs. Shelton Benjamin

Shelton Benjamin comes out to a decent pop from the crowd. He makes his way down to the ring, as he is scheduled for a match next. If Benjamin doesn’t win, he won’t have proven himself worth of a title shot to Eric Bischoff. Benjamin’s opponent turns out to be A-Train who gets booed. A-Train makes his way down to the ring. This match starts out with a lock-up between the two. A-Train uses his size and strength against Benjamin to start things off. A big “Shave Your Back” starts up in the crowd. This makes A-Train even more angry, and he starts beating down Benjamin in the corner of the ring. Benjamin starts to fight back with some hard right hands. He irish whips A-Train off into the ropes, but gets reversed. Benjamin comes flying off the ropes, and ducks a bicycle kick from A-Train. A-Train turns and takes a superkick from Benjamin. Benjamin climbs to the top turnbuckle, jumps, and catches A-Train with a flying cross body pin. It isn’t enough to keep A-Train down, as he kicks out just before the three count. Benjamin climbs back to the top turnbuckle yet again, this time catching A-Train with a flying clothesline, but it still isn’t enough to keep A-Train down for the count. He is able to nail the Dragon Whip on A-Train once he gets back up to his feet, which gives him the pin fall victory! After the match, Benjamin celebrates the win, but is attacked from behind by Christian, who nails him with the Unprettier! Tyson Tomko & Trish Stratus enter the ring with Christian. Christian is handed a microphone, and announces that Benjamin was able to successfully beat A-Train tonight, but next week he’s facing him in a #1 contender’s match for a shot at the Intercontinental title. Tomko & Trish raise Christian’s arm in victory, as they celebrate over Benjamin’s fallen body.

#1 Contender’s Match

Chris Jericho vs. Triple H

Triple H makes his entrance first, coming down to the ring in his usual fashion. Once in the ring, he waits his opponent. This match will be for the right to be the #1 contender and go onto face Chris Benoit at Bad Blood for the World Heavyweight championship. Chris Jericho is out next to a big pop from the crowd. He enters the ring, then taunts Trips. The bells sounds, and this match is underway. Jericho & Trips get face-to-face, exchanging words. The two then start to exchange hard right hands, and finally that turns into some vicious chops to the chest. Jericho gets the upper hand, forcing Trips back into the ropes. He goes to whip him into the opposite side, but Trips is able to reverse, then catches Jericho with a knee lift on the rebound. Trips continues with the upper hand on Jericho, then locks on the indian deathlock submission hold. Jericho tries to fight out, but Trips keeps the hold locked in. The last commercial break of the night is taken at this point. Coming back from the break we see Jericho finally make it to the ropes, and the referee forces Trips to break the hold. As Jericho slowly pulls himself to his feet, Trips hit’s a chop block. Jericho goes down holding his knees. Trips continues to work on Jericho’s legs, and as soon as Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho, Trips is able to fight him off, as Jericho isn’t able to keep the hold locked in. The two continue to battle back and forth. Jericho clotheslines himself and Trips over the top rope, and the match spills out to the ringside area. The match sees Trips sending Jericho flying into the steel steps with an irish whip. Jericho nails his knee into the corner of the steel steps. Trips takes the padding off the guardrail, picks Jericho up, and drops him knee first on it.

Jericho is able to slip up behind Trips, and push him head first into the post. This ends up busting Trips open! Jericho & Trips slowly make their way back into the ring. They exchange a couple chops to the chest, with Trips kicking Jericho in the stomach, and going for the Pedigree. Jericho is able to block the move, and back toss Trips. Jericho springboards off the ropes, attempting the Lion Sault, but Trips rolls out of the way. He’s able to land on his feet as Trips rolls out of the ring to ringside. Jericho springboards over the top rope, taking Trips down on the outside of the ring! The two brawl more, with Trips rolling Jericho back into the ring. Trips pulls Jericho to his feet, and goes for the Pedigree yet again, but this time Jericho reverses it into the Walls of Jericho! The crowd go crazy. Trips crawls to the ropes as fast as he can, but Jericho drags him back into the middle of the ring. Trips is finally able to reverse the submission, sending Jericho flipping to the mat. The two slowly pull themselves up on the ropes. Jericho comes running up behind Trips, catching him with a face crusher, followed by the Lion Sault! Jericho connects this time and hooks the leg. The referee makes the count, giving Jericho the 1...2...3. Jericho will be facing Chris Benoit at Bad Blood for the World Heavyweight championship!

After the match, Shawn Michaels’ music hits. The crowd go crazy. Michaels comes down to the ring with a sledge hammer in hand. The rest of Evolution come running out form the back, followed by officials, and eventually the whole locker room spills out trying to pull these two off one another. There is finally enough people to hold the two apart, as both men are in opposite corners. Eric Bischoff enters the ring, going crazy with all the chaos. He’s got a microphone in hand, and says that this feud has gone on long enough, and that it will end at the next RAW brand pay-per-view Bad Blood, in a HELL IN A CELL! The show ends with Michaels & Trips staring down one another in the ring.

Notes from 5.24.04 RAW

Just got back from the RAW show in Rockford, Illinois, and what a fun show it was. The MetroCentre was sold out, I got to the arena early to see if I couldn’t catch some of the wrestlers as they arrived to the arena. Only saw Maven & Steven Richards, Maven is a really nice guy. The show got started early.

Dark matches

Chuck Palumbo def. Devon Storm

Steven Richards def. John Heidnereich

Lillian Garcia sang the National Anthem before RAW went on the air. Everyone was red hot for the first match of the night, that being the 3-on-1 handicap match. Chris Benoit got one of the biggest pops of the night, next to Shawn Michaels when he showed up at the start of the show, and lastly at the end of the show when he came out at the end of the main event. Edge has been getting more and more cheers as of late, he will surly be a big star by the end of the year, who knows where we’ll see him come WrestleMania 21.

During the WWE Women’s title match, Molly Holly ended up getting injured after landing wrong, performing her finisher the Molly-Go-Round from the top rope. I don’t know for sure what happened, but Molly couldn’t walk after the match, and had to be helped backstage by trainers. Victoria continued to celebrate her win during the commercial break, she even stayed around to talk with a few fans in the front row.

The main event saw Chris Jericho against Triple H which was yet another red hot match that the fans really got involved in. Jericho also got one of the biggest pops of the night, with Triple H getting the most heel heat of the night. Once the cameras stopped rolling, Shawn Michaels & Triple H were able to break free and ended up brawling yet again, this started everyone brawling with everyone else, until the whole locker room irrupted into an all out war. Everyone was finally pulled apart, and Lillian Garcia thanked us for coming to the show.

Preview:

Last Thursday Night John Bradshaw Layfield scored the pin fall over Eddie Guerrero in the huge six man tag-team main event, with a little help from the WWE title belt. The match ended with The Undertaker coming out to save Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, & Rob Van Dam from a beat down by Bradshaw & The Dudley Boyz. This Thursday night, in a huge rematch from the SD! Brand PPV Judgment Day, General Manager Kurt Angle has signed Bradshaw to face Eddie Guerrero in a one-on-one singles match that will be for the WWE championship! It will be Bradshaw’s last chance at getting his hands on the belt, from “Latino Heat” Eddie Guerrero.

Also, last Thursday Night René Duprée ran in during a WWE United States title match between Booker T & John Cena to get revenge on what Cena did to him at Judgment Day during their title match. Cena ended up getting beaten down by René, who used the French flag as a weapon. SD! GM Kurt Angle has decided to kill two birds with one stone by signing a mixed tag-team match for this Thursday Night’s SmackDown!. It will be Dawn Marie & René Duprée teaming up to take on the team of John Cena & Torrie Wilson. A catfight ensued between these two divas last week, which brings them to be added to the match.

I'm aware that I'm *quite* behind, but..

She quickly hooks the leg, and gets the win. After the match, Torrie’s arm is raised in victory by the referee. Dawn comes from behind, and pulls the string on the back of her top

Why would she cover herself? oO For one, it's Pay-per-view - and two - why would it matter - she's been *fully* nude in Playboy.

I guess it's just a decency thing. Pfft, silly people with their decencies.

As I try to keep a lot of things real in my diary…if that was to really happy, Torrie would have covered up, one due to the fact that WWE would not let nudity on pay-per-view…second there would be a lot of angry people if that were to really happen. I used this angle at the end of the match to set up a match between both Dawn Marie & Torrie Wilson at GAB.

WWE used to let it on PPV, but haven't done so (on purpose) for a long time.

WWE try to watch what they do ever sense the Janet Jackson incident that happened at the SuperBowl, that's why I did the whole Torrie covering up thing...to keep things like that real as possible.

News & Rumors for 5.25.04

- Many people backstage have been very impressed with A-Train’s work as of late on the RAW brand. We saw A-Train make his in-ring debut for RAW two weeks ago during the huge 20 man over-the-top rope battle royal. This past Monday Night it was A-Train vs. Shelton Benjamin in a very decent match. It’s said that the RAW creative team will be looking into giving A-Train more of a push in weeks to come, and giving him more high profile matches at RAW house shows to see how well he does, and how much he gets over with the crowd.

- A few notes from the RAW brand. Tommy Dreamer will be traveling with the crew again, and working dark matches for the next couple of weeks. It looks like WWE might be trying to give Dreamer somewhat of a push. Keep in mind that Dreamer’s contract runs out in the next month and half. Tyson Tomko has been getting over well with the RAW creative team. Tomko has said to have been very professional sense being called up to the active roster, and he’s also been impressed many with current matches.

- In an injury update from this past Monday Night’s RAW. Molly Holly had broken her ankle during the WWE Women’s title match against the champion Victoria. The injury was sustained after Molly missed the Molly-Go-Round from the top rope. It was said to look very nasty when Molly landed wrong, for the initial brake. Molly was very professional, and allowed Victoria to get the quick roll-up to end the match, instead of having the referee stop it when it should have been. Molly is expected to be out for two months.

- It’s been reported that Jacqueline has been traveling with the SmackDown! brand as of late. Helping train the likes of Dawn Marie, Miss Jackie, & Torrie Wilson. Jacqueline has spent most of her time in Ohio Valley Wrestling helping train a few of the female superstars along side Ivory, and Lance Storm who has joined as one of the head trainers for the talent farm. Don’t expect to see Jacqueline make a return to television anytime soon, as it’s expected she’ll retire the same way Storm did few months ago.

- Paul Heyman has been impressing a lot of people within the WWE with how he’s been handling SmackDown! creatively. Vince McMahon is also pleased with how Heyman’s character has been coming through on air as well as manager for The Dudley Boyz. Bubba Ray & D-Von Dudley have been getting somewhat of a singles push as of late at house shows, using the gimmick “The Dudley”. This could come through more on television in the weeks to come.

- There are a lot of people who are high on the tag-team of Billy Gunn & Hardcore Holly. Vince McMahon being one of those people. They have been working very well together for several weeks, and have been getting somewhat of a push. There is a good chance that Gunn & Hardcore could turn heel to feud with Charlie Haas & Rico for the WWE Tag-Team titles, but Paul Heyman is pushing for Gunn to split away, and be pushed into the upper midcard/main event.

- Expect the John Cena/René Duprée feud to start heating up in the next couple of weeks. The SmackDown! creative team is said to be happy with the René character. It is currently rumored that the two will face each other in a rematch at the next SD! Brand PPV Great American Bash. The match is also said to have some kind of gimmick stipulation added to it. There is a good possibility that René could win the United States title, which would allow WWE to push Cena into the main event. Cena continues to grow more over with the fans every week.

VENUE: Bradley Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

HOSTED BY: Michael Cole & Tazz

We are welcomed to the show by Michael Cole & Tazz as the usual pryo display kicks off the show. The fans in the Bradley Center are on their feet for SmackDown! in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Not wasting anytime getting the show started, out comes SD! General Manager Kurt Angle who is wheeled out by his assistant Luther Rains. The crowd boos Angle before he can say anything. Angle finally starts off by hyping tonight’s WWE Heavyweight title rematch between champion Eddie Guerrero & challenger John Bradshaw Layfield. He says that he just wanted to come out and introduce a true American hero, and the man who will be WWE champion after tonight’s event. A limo pulls out from behind the staging area. The limo driver climbs out and opens the back door, as JBL comes stepping out waving his cowboy hat to the crowd. This gets nothing but more boos, from the already heated fans. JBL makes his way down to the ring, enters, and is handed a microphone. He talks about how he rightfully deserves a rematch against Eddie, especially after beating him 1, 2, 3 in the middle of the ring last week! The crowd continue to boo JBL. JBL says that they can boo him all they want, it won’t change a thing, he’ll be more successful, worth more, and better looking then they’ll ever be. Finally, JBL talks about The Undertaker sticking his nose into his business last week, by trying to play hero. He didn’t deserve the Chokeslam last week, and says that Paul Heyman doesn’t deserve to be in a neck brace after taking a Tombstone! JBL even puts out an open challenge for the Undertaker to a match. As soon as JBL starts talking bad about Undertaker, the lights in the arena go out. The crowd are on their feet, as they expect the arrival of the Undertaker, when it turns out to be a simple distraction for Eddie to jump JBL from behind! The lights come back on, and Eddie continues to beat down JBL in the middle of the ring. JBL slowly stumbles to his feet, and gets clocked with the WWE title belt from Eddie! Eddie rolls out of the ring, and goes running down the entrance way. He stops next to JBL’s limo. Eddie gets a big smile on his face as he tosses the limo driver out, and steals JBL’s ride! The crowd cheer. JBL slowly pulls himself up on the ropes, and starts going crazy as Eddie backs the limo out of the arena!

#1 Contender’s Match

Booker T vs. Rob Van Dam

This gets a few more boos from the crowd, until Rob Van Dam comes out. RVD gets a huge pop as he makes his way out from the back. He enters the ring and taunts the crowd. The bell sounds, and this match is officially underway. Booker & RVD lock-up to start things off. The two exchange a couple blows before Booker irish whips RVD off into the ropes. RVD ducks a harlem sidekick, but runs into a back elbow smash as he rebounds off the ropes again. Booker goes to work on RVD, getting the upper hand early on in the match. He even goes to the top turnbuckle, jumps, and nails a huge missile dropkick, but it isn’t enough to keep RVD down for the three count. The match continues after a short commercial break. RVD starts to fight back some more through the match. Booker clotheslines himself and RVD out to the ringside area. The two battle back and forth, with Booker lifting RVD up, and dropping him head first on the announcer’s table. RVD is finally able to get some advantage over Booker. Booker tries to irish whip RVD into the steel steps, but RVD is able to reverse. He ends up nailing the steps hard, busting up his shoulder and back.

The match heads back into the ring where RVD nails the rolling thunder. He follows that up with a split legged moonsault off the top rope, but it isn’t enough to pick up the win over Booker. RVD goes for the 5 Star Frog Splash, but misses! As RVD stumbles back up to his feet, Booker gives him the Book End! Booker covers, but RVD is able to kick out. Booker is shocked, and starts to argue with the referee. RVD pulls himself up on the ropes. Booker comes running off the ropes, and goes for yet another harlem sidekick, only this time RVD moves from his spot on the ropes. Booker ends up crotching himself. RVD sets up for the 5 Star Frog Splash yet again, this time connecting! Booker finds enough strength to kick out of the pin to the shock of the crowd and RVD himself. He starts to slowly fight back. RVD misses a back heel kick from the top rope, then walks into a kick to the gut. He is now doubled over in the middle of the ring. Booker runs off the ropes, and nails the Scissors Kick! He hooks RVD’s leg, and gets the 1...2...3. The bell sounds, and Booker is just shocked that he’s won. Booker is going to the Great American Bash to face the WWE Heavyweight champion! The crowd boo as the referee raises Booker’s hand in victory. Booker celebrates like he’s just won the Olympics.

Notes from 5.25.04 SD!

It was a packed house at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the SmackDown! tapping this past Tuesday Night. There wasn’t a seat left, and luckily I had gotten my tickets early. The tapping started a little late with a few pre show matches.

Dark matches

Kenzo Suzuki w/ Hiroko def. Orlando Jordan

Mordecai def. Funaki

Up next was the tapping for Velocity which started out with a #1 contender’s match between Billy Kidman & Rey Mysterio. Bill DeMott & Josh Matthews came out to do commentary for the show. It was then time for the SD! tapping to start. The crowd was really hot. The show started out with Kurt Angle coming down to hype the show, and introduce John Bradshaw Layfield. Angle got the most heat of the night. JBL happened to get under the crowds skin as well, especially during the main event.

The Booker T/Rob Van Dam match got a little cut short, and actually went longer during the tapping then it did on air. The Dudley Boyz got some major heat from the crowd when they faced the WWE Tag-Team champions Charlie Haas & Rico. I have to point out that Miss Jackie is very hot in person. John Cena got one of the biggest pops of the night, next to Eddie Guerrero & The Undertaker. He was way over with the crowd, and ended up having to help Torrie Wilson backstage after the mixed tag-team match.

The main event turned out alright with Eddie Guerrero having to carry John Bradshaw Layfield throughout most of the match. Both men got cut up pretty badly. The arena went crazy nuts when Eddie retained the title after using the belt on JBL, then hit the Frog Splash. After the show went off the air, The Undertaker chased JBL backstage. Booker T came down to the ring and called out Eddie. Eddie came down to the ring to confront Booker. Booker cut a promo on how he’d face Eddie at the Great American Bash, and become the next WWE champion. This led to both men having to be held apart from a brawl.

News & Rumors for 5.29.04

- Both Shawn Michaels & Triple H will be taking time off after the RAW Brand Pay-Per-View Bad Blood, when they will meet inside the Hell In The Cell match. That match will surly be a blood bath, which has been proven to happen during any of their matches together. HHH will be taking time off to shoot his new movie, while Michaels will be taking time off to be with his family. This will definitely give a chance for a lot of new talent to step up in their places during their absence, and show what they’ve got. The two names that the RAW creative team will be looking to push, is Edge & Randy Orton, as well they will also continue to push Chris Jericho.

- The SmackDown! creative team will be looking into giving René Dupree a try out in the main event. This Thursday Night René will be going one-on-one with Eddie Guerrero. It will be somewhat of a test to see how well he is able to flow with Eddie through a match. In a rematch from the night after Judgment Day, the United States champion John Cena will be taking on the #1 contender for the WWE title Booker T. It will be a non-title match.

- Rob Van Dam & the WWE had come to a deal this past week to sign a new multi-year contract deal. There was a lot of rumors going around backstage that RVD might just let his contract run out and find other work outside the WWE. Over the past several months RVD had even been starting to show up late before SD! house shows. This hasn’t been the case for a while now. Paul Heyman has even been gunning to give RVD a main event push in the near future. With Heyman back as head of the SD! creative team, this could be one of the key reasons why RVD has stuck around. RVD could possible feel that there is more of a chance that he could get a major push with Heyman in the drivers seat so to speak.

- Stone Cold Steve Austin & Vince McMahon have started talks again between both parties. As many of you know, Stone Cold & Vince haven’t been on the best of terms as of late. There have also been a lot of rumors that Stone Cold would be working in Japan in one last match against Goldberg. Vince has been doing everything he can to try and get on Stone Cold’s good side again. Vince feels that if he can get Stone Cold back, there is a better chance he could get Goldberg back as well, and book a match between the two by WrestleMania 21. This would definitely be a big match. Many backstage with the WWE feel that Stone Cold will be back with the company no later then Christmas.

Preview:

Last week we found out that the “Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels’ suspension was lifted by the WWE board of directors. This did not set well with “The Game” Triple H who felt that he was cheated out of the World Heavyweight title match against Chris Benoit at Bad Blood when he was eliminated a week earlier in a #1 contender’s 20 man over-the-top rope battle royal by Chris Jericho. HHH got his rematch with Jericho that same night thanks to RAW GM Eric Bischoff. That match saw Y2J get the one, two, three over HHH in the middle of the ring. Once the match was over, out came HBK to confront HHH face-to-face, he also had a little back-up with him, that being HHH’s weapon of choice, a sledgehammer! HBK & HHH had to be pulled apart by every official, road agent, and superstar in the locker room. This is when Bischoff snapped, and announced that HBK & HHH would face each other one-on-one at Bad Blood, and this feud would finally come to an end, inside the Hell In A Cell!

Matt Hardy looked to get some revenge on Kane this past Monday Night on RAW during a match against Grandmaster Sexay. The monster Kane ended up beating down on Hardy in the ring, until Lita came out to try and save her boyfriend. Kane decided that Hardy wasn’t worth it, and that it was time he got what was his from Lita after she answered “yes” to him a week earlier. Kane chased Lita backstage, where it would be the last time anyone would see of her. This week, Hardy continues his search for Lita, and you can be sure he’ll be looking for some answers from Kane.

Good to see Rhyno picking up some wins...even if it's just on Heat.

Also, you probably should explain what the Problem Solver is, as not everyone would know (seeing as it's a gimmick name for a move we discussed.)
