Alkaline Trio's Crimson

Anyone else bought it? Its excellent. They go further away from what they sounded like on Good Mourning, now sounding slightly slower and more methodical. They've really nailed the punk/goth/emo hybrid they've been toying with for the past few years. It also makes their live shows really interesting because, at least when I saw them, they mixed in new songs like Time To Waste and Mercy Me with songs from all stages of their career.

Best tracks on Crimson: 1-Time To Waste, 3-Burn, 7-Sadie, 10-Prevent This Tragedy

You're late dude, it was leaked like 2 months ago, and we had a thread for it :shifty:

It's a top notch album. Matt's voice has gotten better since GM (He had something wrong with his vocal chords didn't he? Or did he just have too much coke?). It's a really solid, all round album, it's know Maybe I'll Catch Fire but it's quite close to From Here To Infirmary in terms of quality. Their 3rd best album, easily.

My favourite songs are Sadie (It is fucking awesome, lyrically it is dark, musically it is dark. I love it), Death Bed, Smoke, Burn and Time To Waste. In fact the entire album is awesom I can't just pick 5. Though Sadie is my favourite song. I love the verse to Mercy Me with both Dan and Matt singing together it's top notch. I can't wait for them to come to the UK, they were awesome last time I saw them and I hope for them to bust out Sadie when I see them. 5-3-10-4 would be nice too. I was screaming for it last time but everyone else shouted Stupid Kid (Grrrrrrrrrrrr) but they refused to play it bwahahahahahahaha

Ugh, Time To Waste is one of the weakest songs on the album in my opinion, that or it's just overshadowed by the likes of Poison, Burn, Mercy Me, Death Bed, Stained in Satin and Prevent This Tragedy - which in my opinion are all better.

I think this CD is great but I've liked Alkaline for like 3 years now. I've seen them play live twice but unfortunately won't get to see them when they come to Milwaukee June 17th cuz Warped tour is two days later and I don't have enough cash. Mercy me is very catchy and Sadie is great lyrically. The whole album is good.
