World-1, the brain child of Steve Corino and Jack Victory was set to be one of the greatest indy feds of 2004. Backed by Zero-One, it seemed nothing could go wrong, however when everything went wrong in Japan, it seemed World-1 was over and done with. Until Now.

With brand new backing from the NWA, Zero-One MAX was back to it's old self, and was a force to be reckoned with, and the fans came flooding back.

And so did World-1.

World-1 - Return To Glory - Night One

Pro Wrestling World-1 returned after a year long hiatus, at the Viking Hall, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, better known as the ECW Arena, here's what went down.

1. "No Gimmicks Needed" CHRIS CANDIDO def. YOSHIHITO SASAKI in the opening match with a Suicide Headbutt from the top rope after hitting a Low Blow when TAMMY LYNN SYTCH distracted the referee.

2. The team of RODERICK STRONG and brother SEDRICK STRONG def. The Christopher St. Connection, BUFF E. & MASE in a short comedy match, with Roderick hitting a Uranage Slam into a backbreaker onto Buff E.

3. "The King of the Old School" STEVE CORINO made his way down to the ring with his Extreme Horsemen, "The Enforcer" CW ANDERSON, "The Problem Solver" SIMON DIAMOND and JASON THE LEGEND, and cut a promo, saying that he had won titles all over the World, and that no matter who won the tournament tonight, that he would be walking out the World-1 Heavyweight Champion tomorrow night. Before Corino could leave the ring, RICKY "The Dragon" STEAMBOAT came out to the pop of the night and told Corino that if he wanted the title, he'd have to go through former World-1 Heavyweight Champion MASATO TANAKA and former World-1 Openweight champion, LOW-KI, if he wanted to win the title tomorrow night.

4. JASON THE LEGEND def. RICKY LANDELL in a short squash match with a running lariat.

5. LOW-KI def. JERRY LYNN in an early contender for MOTN. Lynn went for the Cradle Piledriver, put Ki was able to squirm out of it and hit a series of Stiff Kicks to the mid-section of Lynn, before hitting the Ki Krusher for the win. The match went for 20+ minutes, and both men shook hands after the match.

6. IKUTO HIDAKA def. SPANKY in the first match of the mini, one night, four man tournament, making Spanky tap to the Shawn Capture. Spanky played a great heel in the match, slapping Hidaka and disrespecting the fans throughout the match. Spanky refused a handshake and just stormed out and to the back.

7. RAVEN cut a short promo, telling MASATO TANAKA that he was going to take him back to the old school days of ECW, right here in the ECW arena, and that Tanaka wouldn't be able to walk tomorrow night, let alone wrestle in the Main Event.

8. "Hurricane" JOHN WALTERS def. JAY LETHAL in the mini-tournament with a Hurricane DDT. Mid-way through the match, Lethal landed funny on his head, and it looked like he wouldn't be able to go on. It looked like he had sufferered a concussion, and his eyes were glazed over. But Lethal showed great enthusiasm in continuing the match, and got a lot of respect from the crowd.

9. The Extreme Horsemen, "The King of the Old School" STEVE CORINO, "The Enforcer" CW ANDERSON and "The Problem Solver" SIMON DIAMOND def. Los Maximos, JOSE MAXIMO, JOEL MAXIMO and THE AMAZING RED, when Anderson hit Red with a Spinebuster for the three count. Corino didn't really get involved in the match, and preferred to stay on the outside, letting Anderson & Diamond do the hard work. After the match, Anderson shook Red's hand, but pulled him back and hit another Spinebuster.

10. MASATO TANAKA and RAVEN went to a Double Count Out draw, when the brawl came out of the ring and ended up in the crowd, in a bloody and very hardcore match. Tanaka hit Raven with about 8 different chairs, when he was continually handed them by fans, but Raven was able to get back, by putting Tanaka through the Timekeeper's table with an Evenflow DDT. It looked like Raven won, when he hit an Evenflow DDT in the ring for the 3 count, but the match was restarted when the referee saw Tanaka's foot on the ropes. From there, the match deteriorated, when both men left the ringside, and brawled around the arena.

11. JIMMY RAVE def. MINORU FUJITA, EDDIE GUAPO and KOHEI SATO in a four corners survival match to become the new World-1 Openweight champion. Guapo was the first to be eliminated, getting hit with the Boneyard from Fujita. Fujita was next, when he was rolled up by Rave when Guapo distracted him. Rave and Sato then went for around about 10 minutes together, before Rave countered Sato's lethal Standing Armlock and hit the Rave Clash.

12. "Hurricane" JOHN WALTERS def. IKUTO HIDAKA to win the one night tournament, when he made Hidaka tap to the Sharpshooter, in tonights Main Event. The two men shook hands after the match. STEVE CORINO came out of the curtain and went to attack Walters, but before he could hit him with the Old School Expulsion, he slid out of the ring, running from MASATO TANAKA, who lifted Walters' arm in victory.

That's all folks.

World-1 - Return To Glory - Night Two

After an amazing first night, World-1's second night of the Return To Glory weekend was sure to be a success. And what better place to stage a success, than the ECW Arena, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

1. JACK VICTORY def. SLYK WAGNER BROWN with a piledriver, in tonights opening match.

2. NIGEL McGUINESS (Subbing for JAY LETHAL) def. KOHEI SATO with the Tower of London in a very mat-based match. The two went 15 minutes, in what was said to be a very puro-esque match.

3. JASON THE LEGEND def. RAPID FIRE MOLDONADO with the Ace Crusher.

4. JIMMY RAVE cut a short promo, telling the fans that there was one man that was with him throughout his match last night, and that without his help, he would never be the Openweight Champion. Rave went on, listing the man's achievements, from holding titles in ROH, TNA and even winning major indy tournaments . Rave then brought out the man who trained him, "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES, saying that without Styles, Rave wouldn't be where, or who he is today. The two embraced and hugged, before leaving ringside.

5. Los Maximos, JOSE MAXIMO & THE AMAZING RED def. the World-1 Students, ALEX LAW & RICKY LANDELL in a short match when Red hit the Red Star Press on Alex Law.

6. DELIRIOUS def. JIMMY JACOBS, in an early contender for MOTN. Jacobs came to the ring in full Huss~! gear, and really got the crowd behind him during the match. Delirious attacked Jacobs half way down the ramp, and the match didn't start for a good three minutes, while the two men brawled around ringside. Towards the end of the match Jacobs tried to use the spike on Delirious, but the ref took it away from him allowing Delirious to get the small package for the win.

7. SPANKY def. "The Notorious 187" HOMICIDE in a 30+ Minute match. Both men went all out, using everything in their arsenal to beat the other. It looked like it was over, when Homicide locked the STF in for a good 30 seconds, but Spanky got to the ropes. A ladder got involved, with Homicide hitting a super-superplex from the top of the ladder. The end came when Spanky, still playing the heel from last night, hit Homicide with a mule kick, and used the ladder to get extra leverage on the Sliced Bread #2 for the 3 count. On his way to the back, Spanky got into a heated argument with a fan, which ended in Spanky slapping the fan.

8. "No Gimmicks Needed" CHRIS CANDIDO def. "The Straight Edge Hero" CM PUNK in a good, technical match. Punk nearly won when he hit Candido with a Pepsi Plunge, but TAMMY LYNN SYTCH got involved during the pin count, and Punk attacked her, throwing her into the ring, and hitting her with a Blockbuster. Candido was then able to hit the distracted Punk with a Reverse DDT and then the Suicide Headbutt for the win.

9. The Extreme Horsemen, "The Enforcer" CW ANDERSON and "The Problem Solver" SIMON DIAMOND won a 6-team elimination match to become the new PWF Tag Team Champions, the other teams involved were Strong Style (RODERICK STRONG & SEDRICK STRONG), JOSH DANIELS & MATT STRIKER, IKUTO HIDAKA & MINORU FUJITA, FAST EDDIE & MATT SYDAL & The Solution (PAPADON & HAVOK). The rules were that when one member of a team got eliminated, the whole team got eliminated. Roderick Strong & Sedrick Strong were the first to be eliminated, when Roderick was hit with a Shooting Star Press from Matt Sydal. Daniels & Striker were next to go, when Simon Diamond hit Striker with a Problem Solver. Papadon & Havok were next to go, when Havok tapped to Ikuto Hidaka's Shawn Capture. Fast Eddie & Matt Sydal were next to go, when Sydal was hit with a Boneyard from Fujita. Ikuto Hidaka was eliminated when CW Anderson hit him with the Spinebuster, to win the titles.

10. JIMMY RAVE, with "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES def. JERRY LYNN in his first World-1 Openweight Title defence. Lynn hit a Cradle Piledriver on Rave, but Styles made the save. Lynn and Styles argued at ringside, before both men were taken down with a Tope Suicida from Rave. Lynn and Rave exchanged with some nice chain wrestling, before Rave got the upper hand and hit a Rave Clash for the win. Rave and Lynn shook hands, and Jimmy Rave pulled AJ Styles into the ring to celebrate. But Rave turned on Styles and hit him with the Rave Clash, before grabbing a microphone and telling Styles he wasn't worth shit, and that the true man who Rave wouldn't be here without was in fact Styles' rival, "Fallen Angel" CHRISTOPHER DANIELS, who came down to the ring, and celebrated with Rave.

11. "Hurricane" JOHN WALTERS def. "The King of the Old School" STEVE CORINO, MASATO TANAKA & LOW-KI to become the new World-1 Heavyweight Champion, in tonights main event. Walters pinned Corino with the Hurricane DDT, after an amazing, 20 minute match, where all 4 men brought their A-Game.

12. After the Main Event, RICKY "The Dragon" STEAMBOAT came down to the ring to congratulate "Hurricane" JOHN WALTERS and to present him with the Heavyweight Championship. The celebrations didn't got on for long though, when "The King of the Old School" STEVE CORINO and his Extreme Horsemen got involved. MASATO TANAKA stopped Corino from attacking Walters, but was then beat down by JASON THE LEGEND, "The Enforcer" CW ANDERSON & "The Problem Solver" SIMON DIAMOND. LOW-KI helped TANAKA, by fighting off Anderson & Diamond, whilst Walters brawled with Jason. Corino got into a heated discussion with Steamboat, which ended with Corino spitting on the World-1 Heavyweight Championship, and spitting at Steamboat, who attacked Corino with an Arm Drag, throwing Corino out of the ring. Steamboat wiped the spit off the title and handed it to Walters, who celebrated with Ki, Tanaka and Steamboat.

And that's a wrap.

= JAY LETHAL suffered a slight concussion on Night One of Return to Glory, when he landed on his neck when "Hurricane" JOHN WALTERS' used a Brainbuster. It's expected he'll be out for 4-6 weeks.

= A lot of the wrestlers who appeared over the weekend, are expected to appear again. = The fan SPANKY slapped on night two of the Return to Glory weekend, wasn't planted, and was actually just a very easy-going fan, who let Spanky slap him!

= The card for the next event, entitled "Go With the Flow" was today posted at www.worldonewrestling.com:

World-1 - Go With The Flow

1. The Solution, PAPADON and HAVOK def. the World-1 Students, ALEX LAW and RICKY LANDELL when Havok hit the Samoan Drop on Law, allowing Papadon to hit the 595.

2. "No Gimmicks Needed" CHRIS CANDIDO def. KOHEI SATO with the Blonde Bombshell.

3. DELIRIOUS def. MATT SYDAL, THE AMAZING RED and RODERICK STRONG in a four-way war, when Delirious pinned The Amazing Red with the Invitro Fertilization. Said to be a very good, spotty match.

4. SHINJIRO OTANI def. NIGEL McGUINESS in his debut match with the Dragon Suplex. McGuiness was said to have found it hard to keep up with Otani at some parts in the match, but it was still a great match. the two men shook hands after the match, and Otani complemented McGuiness in Japanese.

5. "The Straight Edge Hero" CM PUNK cut a promo on "The Notorious 187" HOMICIDE, first of all doing his usual Straight-Edge routine, and then telling Homicide that tonight he would show how he was championship material by defeating him in the centre of the ring. He then began commenting on how RICKY "The Dragon" STEAMBOAT was acting as though he owned the place, and that he should watch the Punk / Homicide match from ringside, so that he could get a good look at the next World-1 Heavyweight Champion.

6. "The Straight Edge Hero" CM PUNK def. "The Notorious 187" HOMICIDE after hitting the Welcome to Chicargo, Motherfucker. RICKY "The Dragon" STEAMBOAT was at ringside, watching his old ROH rival. After the match, Punk told Steamboat to get in the ring and shake his hand, as Steamboat got in the ring, Punk commented on the way Corino acted on Night 2 of Return to Glory, and said he'd take a leaf out of Corino's book, before spitting on Steamboat. Steamboat went to hit Punk, but Punk slid out of the ring, leaving Homicide to calm down Steamboat.

7. The Extreme Horsemen, "The Enforcer" CW ANDERSON and "The Problem Solver" CW ANDERSON def. IKUTO HIDAKA & MINORU FUJITA to retain to PWF Tag Team Championships, when Diamond hit the Problem Solver on Hidaka.

8. JIMMY RAVE def. EDDIE GUAPO to retain the World-1 Openweight title when Rave made Guapo tap to the Crossface. Mid-way throught the match, Jimmy Rave hit an impressive looking Shining Wizard to Guapo as he was about to launch himself off the top rope.  After the match, Rave called out "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES, challenging him to a match next month. Rave said that Styles was overated, and was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Rave then asked Styles how it felt to be a teacher who knew inside his student was better than him.

9. SPANKY def. the debuting SUPER CRAZY with a Sliced Bread #2 following a Mule Kick which the referee did not see. The match was extremely fast paced, and really showed off both men's athletic ability. There was a nice spot when Super Crazy went to give Spanky a Frankensteiner, but Spanky rolled it round into a perfect fallout powerbomb. After the match, Super Crazy offered Spanky a handshake, but Spanky refused. As Spanky went to leave, Super Crazy spun him round and demanded a handshake. Spanky went to shake Super Crazy's hand but instead slapped him and left the ring.

10. "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES def. JERRY LYNN. Styles stayed focused even when JIMMY RAVE came to taunt him, referee Fred Richards argued with Rave, telling him he was banned from ringside, which gave "Fallen Angel" CHRISTOPHER DANIELS some time to sneak into the back of the ring, but before he could attack Styles, Lynn speared him out of the way, and out of the ring. Daniels and Rave left together as Styles and Lynn celebrated together before continuing their match. The two put on one helluva contest, reversing each others signature moves. Styles hit a nice Superman 450 on Lynn for the two count. The two continued with some great moves, before Styles was actually able to hit an Enziguri and then the Spiral Tap for the three count.

11. "Hurricane" JOHN WALTERS def. "Fallen Angel" CHRISTOPHER DANIELS with the Hurricane DDT to retain the World-1 Heavyweight Championship. The match went a good 20 minutes before Walters got the pin, and it was said to be an amazing contest between the two. Daniels broke his heelish ways to shake hands with Walters at the end of the match, obviously impressed with his ability.

12. Two of the Extreme Horsemen, "the King of the Old School" STEVE CORINO and JASON THE LEGEND made their way to the ring. Corino cut a promo, saying it didn't matter that he didn't have the Heavyweight Title, it didn't stop him main eventing the shows, he then focused his attention on MASATO TANAKA and LOW-KI, belittling them and listing his achievements, from Japan to ECW, and everything in between. Before he could finish, Tanaka and Ki came out of the curtain and down to the ring. Ki told Corino that it didn't matter if Corino was main eventing the shows, he'd still have his ass handed to him tonight. A ref quickly came down to the ring and the main event started.

13. "The King of the Old School" STEVE CORINO and JASON THE LEGEND def. MASATO TANAKA and LOW-KI. The match was focused mainly between Corino and Tanaka, although they never actually came to blows, there was a lot of chemistry and hatred between them. Just as Tanaka and Ki were getting the upper hand, "The Enforcer" CW ANDERSON and "The Problem Solver" SIMON DIAMOND made their way to the ring and attacked Tanaka, hitting him with a steel chair and brawling with him until he was backstage, meaning the match became two on one. Jason hit a lariat on Ki, and Corino was able to hit the Old School Expulsion for the three count.

Until next time.

As soon as Code Red is posted, this'll be on a short hiatus, as I have been banned from my home pc. It'll only be a short hiatus, around about a week I'd say, but a hiatus none-the-less.

What I'll try and do is post Code Red, hopefully tonight or tomorrow, depeneds how long I can dodge the 'rents. Then I'll try and post the Wire (which will hopefully be longer than most, as it'll have details on Strong Style Suprene, New Frontiers & CoF) by Friday, then you'll have to do without for a while.

I finish school next Friday for six weeks, which means this'll be coming at you thick and fast, with hopefull 2/3 shows per week. So keep on reading.

Until then, a few predictions for Code Red, perhaps?

World-1 - Code Red - Saturday, April 23.

1. JACK VICTORY and GUILLOTINE LeGRANDE def. the Christopher St. Connection (BUFF E. and MASE) in a comedy opening match. Victory showed his comical side when he watched Buff E. lock the lip lock on LeGrande. Victory hit a Piledriver on Mase for the victory. **3/4

2. JIMMY JACOBS def. MATT SYDAL in a good, fast paced match, Jacobs used the Contra Code on Sydal after hitting Sydal with a spike. ***1/2

3. JOSH DANIELS and MATT STRIKER def RODERICK STRONG and brother SEDRICK STRONG in a good technical contest. Daniels and Striker hit a very nice double Northern Lights Driver on Roderick, which Daniels kept a bridge to for the three count. ***1/2

4. CHAD COLLYER def. NIGEL McGUINESS with the Texas Cloverleaf. Collyer and McGuiness went 20 minutes, and shook hands after a very intense, mat-based match. ****

5. JIMMY RAVE def. DELIRIOUS to retain the World-1 Openweight Championship. Rave went for the Rave Clash, but dropped Delirious deliberately, before saying something about not wanting to even be associated with Styles anymore, and that even though he created the move, he didn't want to be connected to Styles in anyway. Instead Rave hit a Shining Wizard - Shining Black variation to a standing Delirious for the win. ***

6. After the match, "Fallen Angel" CHRISTOPHER DANIELS came down to the ring with a black sports bag and his newly won TNA X-Division Championship to taunt "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES, Daniels pulled out a Black AJ Styles T-shirt, before lighting it in the middle of the ring. RICKY "The Dragon" STEAMBOAT came down to the ring and told Daniels that it's a safety hazzard and to put the fire out. Daniels, not one to be a rule-breaker, did what Steamboat said, as he and JIMMY RAVE spat and stamped on the lighted shirt until it went out. Steamboat told Daniels and Rave that respect should be enforced instead of chosen. Steamboat brought out "The Notorious 187" HOMICIDE, and told Daniels and Rave that Homicide will teach them all want they needed to know.

7. "The Notorious 187" HOMICIDE def. "Fallen Angel" and JIMMY RAVE in an inpromptu triple threat match to become the new World-1 Openweight Champion after a short match, mainly focussed on Daniels and Homicide. It looked like it was over when Daniels hit the Last Rites on Homicide following a Low-Blow from Rave, however "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES pulled Daniels out of the ring allowing Homicide to recover and hit the Cop Killa on Rave for the three count victory. ***

8. SUPER CRAZY def. JACK EVANS, THE AMAZING RED and FAST EDDIE in an elimination 4-Way match. Evans made an amazing debut, and was able to hit some of the most amazing high flying moves on his three opponents. Red and Eddie were eliminated together, when Evans hit a Corkscrew 630 on Eddie at the same time as Super Crazy hit a Moonasult on Red. Crazy and Evans then got down to some serious high flying action, before Crazy hit Evans with a Triple Jump Moonsault on Evans for the win. ***1/4

9. "The Enforcer" CW ANDERSON and "The Problem Solver" SIMON DIAMOND def. "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES and JERRY LYNN to retain the PWF Tag Team Titles. Mid way through the match when Styles accidentally hit Lynn with an Enziguri, resulting in Lynn leaving Styles to fight the battle alone. Styles hit the Styles Clash from the second turnbuckle onto Diamond, but Anderson was the legal man, allowing Anderson to get some momentum and hit Styles with the Spinebuster for the three count. ***

10. SPANKY def. "The Straight Edge Hero" CM PUNK in a could-be MOTY which went 30 minutes. Although there was no story going into it, there was certainly a rivaly coming out of it. Spanky once again shocked the audience by playing a perfect heel, the complete opposite to his normal, babyface ways, and Punk played his part well, as the cocky tweener, who just wants to be the best in the business. Spanky was able to hit a Sliced Break #2 early on, but it wasn't enough to put Punk away. Both wrestles would have done anything to win the match, and it came down to who had the most disire to win in the end. Spanky 'accidentally' put the ref out with a Dropkick, and was able to use the ref bump well, hitting Punk with an Enziguiri into a chair into Punk's face. The ref recovered to make the pinfall, but it still wasn't enough. In the end, Punk went for a Pepsi Plunge, but Spanky reversed it and hit a Sliced Break #2 from the top rope for the three count. ****1/2

11. "The King of the Old School" STEVE CORINO and JASON THE LEGEND came down to the ring. Jason stood there looking dangerous as he always did as Corino did all the talking. Corino first spoke out about World-1 Heavyweight Champion, "Hurricane" JOHN WALTERS, telling him until he can go 30 minutes with Corino, he isn't a fighting champion. Corino then issued a challenge to Walters, to fight him at Strong Style Supreme, if he can go survive 30 minutes, Corino will personally bow to him! Corino than switched his focus onto MASATO TANAKA, saying that he's nothing but a broken down no-talent brawler, and that he hates being in the ring with him, because he knows how easy it will be to win. Before Corino could finish, RAVEN made his way out of the curtain and down to the ring. Raven told Corino that although he may not like Tanaka, the no-talent brawler comment was bullshit. Raven took Corino back to a time last year when Tanaka beat Corino fair and square in the middle of the ring, to become the first ever World-1 Heavyweight champion. Corino went to hit Raven, but Jason held him back, keeping the calm between his two partners in tonight’s match.

12. MASATO TANAKA and the World-1 Students, ALEX LAW & RICKY LANDELL def. "The King of the Old School" STEVE CORINO, JASON THE LEGEND and RAVEN when Tanaka pinned Corino. "The Enforcer" CW ANDERSON and "The Problem Solver" SIMON DIAMOND tried to get involved mid-way through the match, but were stopped by The Havana Pitbulls, RICKY REYES and ROCKY ROMERO attacked the PWF Tag Team Champions, making an explosive debut. The distraction was long enough for Jason the Legend to hit the Lariat, but Tanaka powered out at the two count. Later in the match, the momentum changed greatly, when Alex Law and Ricky Landell were laid out cold by a Double Evenflow DDT onto two separate chairs. Tanaka didn't back down, and continued the match on his own. First he took out Raven with the Roaring Elbow, then Jason with a Tornado DDT, and then hit the Roaring Elbow into a chair Corino was planning to use to attack Tanaka with, sending it straight into Corino's already bloody face and pinning him for the three. After the match, Corino and Raven got into a shoving match, and as Raven went to leave the ring, he received a Lariat from Jason the Legend, laying him out in the centre of the ring cold. ***1/4

13. "Hurricane" JOHN WALTERS def. LOW-KI to retain the World-1 Heavyweight Championship. The match started with a lot of stiff kicks from Ki, but Walters was able to get a Dragon Screw and turn Ki inside out into a Sharpshooter, Walters' signature submission. Ki was able to pull himself up by the ropes and hit a nice looking Neckbreaker variation on Walters. Walters showed he a had a hidden talent with some nice kicks, jabs and chops to Ki, which ended in a Ric Flair induced "WOO" style Chopping match between the two. Walters hit a Hurricane DDT on Ki, but Ki was able to roll out of the ring before Walters could capitalize. The ending came when Walters hit a Straight Jacket Lung Blower on Ki, before making him tap with a second Sharpshooter in the middle of the ring. ****

I'm really liking this diary. A couple of mistakes here and there but nothing major.

I like the result write ups, short to the point and are enjoyable to read.

Also the build with Corino, keeping him involved with the main title as well as Tanaka and Raven is v. good.

Yeah, I found a few mistakes myself (I'm assuming you mean spelling and grammar, because I don't think I've made any factual errors). Not meaning to blow my own horn, but I'm very pleased with Code Red on a whole, the title change came out of the blue and worked superbly, the tension between Corino and Raven was cool, and also the tension between Corino and pretty much everyone, Tanaka, Walters, and no doubt that'll spread like a virus to everyone on the roster. I'm also enjoying Spanky, and a little birdie is telling me that soon his character will be hotting up some more :)

And 4 whole shows! That's gotta be a new record for me :P I'll be posting the wire on Friday / Saturday, and then I'll get to work on SSS, which I'll be posting both nights together, hopefully by the end of Sunday, however, it may spill into next week, as I'm not sure when I'll be allowed on the home PC again (it's just lucky I'm in school late every day this week and next week).

Well, keep reading and stay golden. :)

Yeah, I did mean spelling and grammar.

Also this...

*** 3. DELIRIOUS def. MATT SYDAL, THE AMAZING RED and RODERICK STRONG in a four-way war, when Delirious pinned The Amazing Red with the . Said to be a very good, spotty match. ***

...is what I was mainly referencing. Which is on the Go With The Flow show, the Chemical Imbalance #2 is his finisher which is a pump handle into a piledriver.

Anyway, keep up the good booking and I'll keep reading.

The Wire - World-1 Newsletter

= The extra's for the Code Red DVD will include a Shoot Interview with former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES, the DVD will be available in June. A short extract from the Styles shoot can be seen below:

You've wrestled all across America for Ring of Honor, TNA, PWG, IWA: Mid South, across England with FWA, you've worked dates in Canada, and you appeared for WCW in its dying days, is there anywhere else you want to go?

[styles:] "I'd still love to go to Japan, whether my wife would allow me to wander that far across the World I'm not sure, but you see these tapes of guys in Japan, New Japan, All Japan, Zero-One, and sometimes I just think 'I want to be there!' Guys like Ki, Corino and Doug Williams have all had great success there, and it's just a matter of picking up the right phonecall at the right time."

A lot of the best indy talent are taking times out to tour Japan, what do you think it is about Japan that make wrestlers want to be there?

[styles:] "Over here in the US, people see wrestling as a casual sport, they'll take food and drink, sit down, cheer and jeer, and have a good time, whereas in Japan it's a legit sport, people are a lot more reserved in Japan, and it's like a crusade. I think impressing a Japanese crowd is a lot different than impressing an American crowd. Over here you have to jump as high as you can and you'll get a crowd, any crowd worked up. In Japan it's different, and you have to really put on a 110% performance to make them react, and if, IF, you can get them to cheer like that, it's all the more reqarding... Of course, I wouldn't know, I'm still sitting, waiting for that call!"

World-1 - Strong Style Supreme (Night 1) - Friday, May 13 2005.

1. JACK VICTORY def. ALEX LAW in a short opening match. Victory won with a Piledriver on Law. **

2. JACK EVANS def. Ring of Honor tag partner RODERICK STRONG in a good, all round match. Evans and Strong went a good 20 minutes before Evans was able to hit the Corkscrew 630 for the pin. After the match, the two men shook hands and left ringside together. ***1/2

3. The debuting XAVIER def. JIMMY JACOBS in a good spotty technical match. Xavier hit a Pumphandle Powerbomb for the finish after an intense match. Highlight came when Xavier missed a 450 Splash, and Jacobs went to his huss ways for the first time in World-1, when he tried to lift up Xavier for a Military Press, but failed and Xavier hit a cross body. Xavier left without a handshake after the match. ***

4. MATT SYDAL and DELIRIOUS def. The Christopher St. Connection, BUFF E. & MASE in a short comedy match. Both teams played off of each other really well, with Sydal not knowing what to make of Buff E. and Mase and nobody knowing what to make of Delirious. The ending came when Sydal hit a Springboard 450 on Mase for the three count. **3/4

5. "The Notorious 187" HOMICIDE def. CHAD COLLYER to retain the World-1 Openweight Championship. Homicide won with an STF variation, where he hooked both legs instead of the usual one. After the match Collyer and Homicide shook hands, and Collyer placed the World-1 Openweight Championship on Homicide's shoulder, congratulating him on his first defence. ****

6. The Extreme Horsemen, "The King of the Old School" STEVE CORINO, "The Enforcer" CW ANDERSON, "The Problem Solver" SIMON DIAMOND and JASON THE LEGEND came down to the ring. Corino cut a promo on World-1 Heavyweight Champion, "Hurricane" JOHN WALTERS. Corino told Walters to brace himself, because it'll be the most intense match of his career, Corino then went on to tell Walters that he would take no mercy on Walters, and would do absolutely anything to beat him tonight. Corino said that he would leave the building tonight with 12lbs of gold strapped around his waist by any means necassary.

7. LOW-KI and MASATO TANAKA def. The Briscoe Brothers, MARK BRISCOE and JAY BRISCOE in a very stiff match. The Briscoe's put in 110% for their debut but it wasn't enough to win their tag match, and Ki hit a Ki Krusher '99 on Jay to win the match. Highlight of the match was when The Briscoe's hit Tanaka with a Briscoe Bottom, but Ki hit a dropsault on both Briscoe's to prevent a pinfall. After the match Tanaka and Ki celebrated, before Ki got on the mic and requested a Supreme Strong Style match for Strong Style Supreme Night 2. Tanaka accepted the offer and the two shook hands, before Ki shocked everyone in the arena by turning on Tanaka and hitting a hard Kawada Kick to Tanaka's head, knocking him clean down. The Briscoe's tried to celebrate with Ki, but he just shrugged them off and walked backstage. ****

8. "The Straight Edge Hero" CM PUNK def. "Fallen Angel" CHRISTOPHER DANIELS, JERRY LYNN and SPANKY in a four-way war match. All four men gave reasons as to why their some of the biggest names on the indy scene. There was a lot of heat between Spanky and Punk, and also between Lynn and Daniels. And all four men used everything in their arsenal to try and clench a very important win. Punk hit the Pepsi Plunge on Lynn for the win. ***3/4

9. "The Straight Edge Hero" CM PUNK called out RICKY "The Dragon" STEAMBOAT, and told him to put him in a Heavyweight title match tomorrow night, or he'd go on strike from World-1, Punk said that if beating Daniels, Lynn and Spanky isn't enough, he doesn't know what is. Steamboat came out and told Punk that he had already booked the title match for tomorrow night, and that whoever walked out with the title tonight would face JAY LETHAL tomorrow night, and that Punk needed to get in line if he wanted that title shot. Punk told Steamboat he'd go through anybody to win that title, even Steamboat himself. Punk then challenged Steamboat to a match tomorrow night, and Steamboat accepted, setting up for one hell of a main event tomorrow night.

10. "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES def. JIMMY RAVE in a great Teacher vs. Student ladder match. Highlight of the match came when Styles hit a Styles Clash off of the forth rung of a steel ladder, almost KOing Rave, but Rave was able to slide out of the ring and catch his breath, Styles went for a Tope Suicida, but Rave reversed it into a Powerslam. The ending came when Styles hit a Spiral Tap from the top of the ladder outside the ring to inside the ring for the three count. ***3/4

11. RAVEN and The Havana Pitbulls, RICKY REYES and ROCKY ROMERO def. The Extreme Horsemen, JASON THE LEGEND, "The Enforcer" CW ANDERSON and "The Problem Solver" SIMON DIAMOND when Reyes pinned Anderson. All 6 men mixed with each other and proved to have some great chemistry together. The match started with Romero and Diamond, chain wrestling until Romero went for a Jumping Knee kick, but Diamond reversed it and locked an ankle lock on Romero. Romero was able to squirm to his corner and tag in Raven who instead tagged in Reyes, who immediately locked up with Diamond. After everybody except for Raven had been on the inside, Romero tagged in Raven and left the ring until he got in. Raven and Legend locked up, with Raven getting the upper hand with a quick Evenflow DDT. Raven didn't show any willingness to stay in, and kept to his loner ways, leaving the ring and exiting behind the curtain before the match was finished. This allowed the Horsemen to get some momentum, and Anderson to hit a Spinebuster on both Reyes and Romero, but Reyes kicked out. After a short brawl, with everyone involved, Reyes was able to lift up Anderson and hit a Brainbuster for the three count, whilst Romero kept Legend and Diamond busy with a Tope Suicida over the top rope. ***3/4

12. "Hurricane" JOHN WALTERS and "The King of the Old School" STEVE CORINO went to a 45 minute time-limit draw. Corino refused to shake Walters hand, and the two went stright into a series of chain wrestling. Walters went for a Hurricane DDT early on, but Corino reversed and went for his own special move, the Old School Expulsion, Walters was able to reverse into a Big Back Body Drop. The two continued left, right and centre of the ring until Corino rolled out of the ring for a breather, allowing Walters to hit a huge over the top rope Tope Suicida on Corino. The two then brawled throughout the crowd, until Corino was able to hit a dirty eye rake on Walters and throw him into a set of chairs. Corino rolled Walters into the ring, and it looked like it was over, when Corino hit Walters with a Thrust Kick, however Walters was just able to get his foot on the ropes. Corino argued with the ref, allowing Walters to slowly but surely get to his feet. As Corino turned round, Walters knocked him down with a clothesline and locked him in the Sharpshooter, just as Corino was about to tap, "The Problem Solver" SIMON DIAMOND and "The Enforcer" CW ANDERSON ran down to the ring and distracted the ref, allowing JASON THE LEGEND to slide into the ring and hit a huge lariat on Walters. The three members of the Extreme Horsemen were sent to the back as Corino pinned Walters for a very near fall two count. Walters and Corino got to their feet and continued to chain wrestle, until Walters hit the Hurricane DDT for a very close 2 count. With only a minute left until the time limit ran out, Corino went all out to defeat Walters. Corino was able to hit the Old School Expulsion and pin Walters, but just as the ref started to count, the timekeeper rang the bell for the draw, and Walters retained! After the match, a very pissed off Corino rolled out of the ring and grabbed the World-1 Heavyweight Championship, before leaving the arena with it, stealing it. Just as he was about to exit through the curtain, Corino looked back at Walters and simply said the three words "any means neccassary". ****1/4

World-1 - Strong Style Supreme (Night 2) - Saturday, May 14, 2005.

1. RAVEN def. JASON THE LEGEND in tonight's opening match. Jason showed a lot more agility and technical ability then he has done in the past, and Raven was just typical Raven. After an 11 minute, non-stop brawl in which Raven was opened up with a very big boot from Jason. However, Jason didn't capitalize, and Raven hit the Evenflow DDT in the centre of the ring for the pin. (8.22) ***

2. SUPER CRAZY def. JACK EVANS in a good, very fast paced high flying match. The two men put great effort in giving the fans a spotty match to have them on the edge of their seats, with Tope Suicida's and multiple twists here, there and everywhere. The highlight came when Evans nobody home'd a springboard 450 splash to the ringside area, sending him into a heap of chairs. Crazy was able to gain great momentum from this and hit a nice Hurracanrana followed by the Triple Jump Moonasult for the win. (13.40)  ***1/2

3. The Extreme Horsemen, "The Enforcer" CW ANDERSON and "The Problem Solver" SIMON DIAMOND def. The Havana Pitbulls, RICKY REYES and ROCKY ROMERO, when Diamond pinned Reyes. Anderson looked a little slow compared to the other three guys in the ring, which reflected badly upon the Tag Champs, however, he was still impressive in his big guy brawling role, in which he was able to hit an amazing Flapjack Spinebuster on Romero. Diamond made the pin when he reversed Reyes' brainbuster into a Neckbreaker, which led to a Simonizer on Reyes for the three count. (11.11) ***

4. "The Notorious 187" HOMICIDE def. "Reckless Youth" TOM CARTER to retain the World-1 Openweight Championship in Carter's first World-1 appearance. The two had a very honorable, respectable fight. Carter got a lot of offence in his first match, hitting 'Cide with a flurry of chops and kicks. However, Homicide wasn't one to be on the defensive, and finally took control of the match, hitting a huge Yakuza Kick on Carter. Carter and Homicide continued to chain wrestle, until Tom Carter very nearly became the new World-1 Openweight Champion when he hit a Fisherman Suplex followed by a Frog-Splash on Homicide. But the reigning champion got his foot on the rope and the match continued. Homicide won at the 18 minute mark when he hit a Cop Killa on Carter for the three count. After the match the two men shook hands. (18.33) ***3/4

== "The King of the Old School" STEVE CORINO came down to the ring, alone for the first time. Across his shoulder was the World-1 Heavyweight Championship which he had disrespectfully stolen on Night One of Strong Style Supreme. Before he could even open his mouth to speak, the rightful World-1 Heavyweight Champion "Hurricane" JOHN WALTERS came out from the curtain and down to the ring. Walters told Corino that he needs to stop being so ungrateful and disrespectful, and should return the World-1 Heavyweight Championship to its rightful owner. Corino told Walters to shut up, and that there is no rightful owner to the title, seeing as Walters never pinned Corino, and that if he wanted the title, he'd have to pin him right here, right now. This led to RICKY "The Dragon" STEAMBOAT coming down to the ring. Steamboat said he was pissed off that he had to sort out Corino, when he had his own problems to deal with. Steamboat told Corino that he had 10 seconds to place the World-1 Heavyweight Title on Walters shoulder and shake Walters’s hand, or he'd be suspended from World-1. Corino said he'd never shake hands with Walters, and left the ring. Before he left through the curtain he threw the World-1 Heavyweight title on the floor and walked out, flipping Steamboat and Walters the birdie. Steamboat slid out of the ring and picked up Walters World-1 Heavyweight Championship before sliding back into the ring and handing it to Walters. Steamboat shook Walters hand and left ringside.

5. LOW-KI def. MASATO TANAKA in a very stiff match. Ki played his new heel persona perfectly, taunting the fans and disrespecting Tanaka and the Japanese throughout the match. Ki hit Tanaka with a flurry of kicks before going for a Super Ki-Krusher, but Tanaka reversed it into a painful looking middle rope bulldog. Things heated up when Ki started to play the coward, running from Tanaka turning to the days of ECW when he brought out a table. Tanaka set up the table in the middle of the ring when Ki attacked him unguarded and placed him on the table, but Tanaka rolled off before Ki could capitalize. Tanaka and Ki went back to brawling until Tanaka placed Ki on the table with a Power slam. Tanaka climbed up to the top rope and dived off for a Suicide Headbutt, but Ki rolled off the table and Tanaka went straight through the table, allowing Ki to cover for the three count. (17.50) ***1/2

6. "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES def. "Fallen Angel" CHISTOPHER DANIELS in what was easily MOTN. Daniels and Styles both brought their A Game in a match that lasted 38 minutes. Styles hit an early on Springboard Enziguiri, which put Daniels down for the count. However, Styles instead decided to climb the top rope and go for a Spiral Tap, in which Daniels was able to get his knees up and almost defeat Styles there and then. Mid-Way through the match, Daniels hit the BME, but Styles just got his foot on the rope. A frustrated Daniels argued with the ref, allowing Styles to recover and hit the Styles Clash, however, JIMMY RAVE made a late save, hitting a shining wizard on Styles. Referee Jimmy Hayes called for the bell as Styles was laid out by Rave and Daniels. It looked as though Styles' luck was about to change, when Jerry Lynn came out of the curtain. However, Lynn just stayed put, next to the curtain, watching as Styles was beaten. Lynn finally shook his head and left back out of the curtain. (38.02) ****1/2

7. "Hurricane" JOHN WALTERS def. JAY LETHAL to retain the World-1 Heavyweight Championship in a great return match for Lethal, who had been since Return To Glory with a concussion he had sustained at the hands of Walters. The two took it to the limits, and could very well be seen as a milestone in both men's careers. The match went for 30 minutes, with Lethal getting a lot of the offensive in. Walters really put him over to be a serious contender for champion, but it wasn't enough, and Walters made Lethal tap to a Sharpshooter in the middle of the ring. (30.17) ****

8. "The Straight Edge Hero" CM PUNK def. RICKY "The Dragon" STEAMBOAT in tonight’s main event. The two went for 40 minutes before Punk pinned Steamboat. Punk continually disrespected Steamboat throughout the match, treating him as an old man and slapping him, but Steamboat showed why he was recognized as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, hitting Punk with a flurry of knife edge chops. After being victim to the 101 Arm Drags of Doom, Punk left the ring and almost got counted out, but finally got back into the ring. Punk almost got Steamboat up for the Pepsi Plunge, but Steamboat hit a big back body drop onto Punk and then hit a perfect Flying Bodypress for a 2 count. The two continued for another 10 minutes until Punk accidentally knocked referee Garry Morere down with a Blockbuster, with the ref down, Steamboat and Punk continued to brawl until "The King of the Old School" STEVE CORINO ran out of the curtain and down to the ring. Corino slid into the ring and hit a Northern Lights Bomb on Corino. Punk and Corino shook hands and celebrated as Corino slid out of the ring, and Punk covered Steamboat. The ref slowly recovered and counted, 1, 2, 3. Punk wins. (32.09) ****

== After the Main Event had finished, RICKY "The Dragon" STEAMBOAT got to his feet and announced that there would be a Wrestling Court, on whether to suspend "The King of the Old School" STEVE CORINO or now. Corino came down to the ring, along with JASON THE LEGEND, "The Enforcer" CW ANDERSON and "The Problem Solver" SIMON DIAMOND. Corino told Steamboat that Steamboat could quite easily suspend him, but he'd have the PWF Tag Team Champions and Jason the Legend to deal with. Steamboat said the decision was not only up to him, but instead there was a jury. Out from the back came "Rowdy" RODDY PIPER, TERRY FUNK and "The American Dream" DUSTY RHODES. Corino looked stunned as Steamboat told Corino that what he did was disrespectful and disgusting, and that he should be fired from World-1, not just suspended. Corino told Steamboat that he wouldn't be spoken to like that from somebody who used to wear scales. Corino called Piper a 'rambling has-been', Funk an 'old nobody', and Rhodes a 'fat never-was'. Corino then tried to focus back on Steamboat, but Piper took the mic and told Corino that he'll never be half the man that Funk, Rhodes, Steamboat or himself was. Corino snapped the mic back and agreed with Piper about Rhodes, telling him that Yokozuna wasn't half the man he is. The tension snapped and Rhodes hit out at Corino, which escalated in a mass brawl between the Extreme Horsemen and the legends. CW Anderson, Simon Diamond and Jason The Legend all got thrown out of the ring early on, leaving Corino alone with the four legends. Piper applied the Sleeper-hold on Corino, letting go just before Corino went limp, allowing for Steamboat to hit Corino with the flying bodypress from the second rope. Steamboat got on the mic and told Corino that the jury was unanimous, and that Corino was suspended from World-1.
