I've been listening to many random bands recently and like the sound of them, the problem is that i'm not sure which albums are great and which are turkeys. now i'm sure there will some fans of them on the board so can you help me out in finding some gems by reccomening some great albums by them? The list is as follows:

Beastie Boys (Thank you IWC <_<)

Public Enemy (Loved Bring the Noise)

Metallica

Green Day (pre-American Idiot)

RATM

SOAD

Iron Maiden

Guns N' Roses

Goldfinger (I love the song superman)

Offspring - Already own greatest hits but like most songs by them

any help would be appreciated!

AC/DC - I only have Razors Edge, but you'd probably prefer Back in Black

Beastie Boys (Thank you IWC dry.gif) - You're welcome :) The beastie boys have a two disc compilation called The Sounds Of Science. If you want a Studio album, the best is Licensed To Ill

Public Enemy - There's A Poison Going On and It Takes a Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back, although they have a best of CD out now (Or very soon) go for that.

Metallica - Master Of Puppets

Not a fan of Green Day

RATM - Rage Against The Machine (Although you can't go wrong with any of the studio albums)

SOAD - Mezmerize is my favorite, although you can't go wrong with System of a Down or Toxicity either, leave Steal This until last

Not a maiden fan

Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction, easily the best thing they did. If you can't get a hold of that go for Use Your Illusion I. Do NOT get GnR Lies or the Spaghetti Incident

Not a goldfinger fan

Offspring - Eh whatever, don't bother. Offspring are great but the greatest hits pretty much covers the best stuff. If you have to, go with Smash

Just to touch on The Beastie Boys stuff a little.

Pauls Boutique

Ill Communication

Check Your Head

Licensed To Ill

To The 5 Boroughs

Hello Nasty

Those are all the studio albums (In no particular order)

Hello Nasty, Licensed To Ill or To The 5 Boroughs would all make excellent choices for a first purchace, the other three are very much aquired tastes, and although Pauls Boutique is often hailed as one of the best albums of all time, it doesn't have the instant appeal nor is it as easy to listen to as the three I listed.

Add Piece of Mind to the Maiden album list, and put it near the top of the list.

AC/DC - You hear one album, you've heard them all

Metallica - Everything (except the over played "Metallica". It's a great album, but it's way overplayed.

Iron Maiden - Somewhere In Time is my personal favorite

Guns N' Roses - Lies or Use Your Illusion 2

You can't go wrong with pre-Black Album Metallica. Master of Puppets is definetely their best offering.

However, you can go wrong with St. Anger or Load/Re-Load. xP
