You're great too for those selections.

Yeah, I was half expecting this post, as I've complimented yours/you've complimented my music taste a few times.

Best sub 3 minute song: Common - Testify, Dead Kennedys - Kill the Poor (3:02, close enough) Stevie Wonder - Signed, Sealed, Delivered...

Best plus 7 minute song: Damien Rice - Eskimo, Aphex Twin - Ghost in the Shell, Blur - Tender, A Tribe Called Quest - Push it Along.

Best use of guitars in a band: Sikth. Without a doubt Sikth. KSE use them quite well, some nice harmony, and so do Aconite Thrill.

Best use of drums in a band: Taylor Hawking's drumming really suits the Foo Fighters, although he's no where near the best out there.

Best Lyricist: Nas, Rakim, Mikee from Sikth and Damon Albarn.

Best Vocalist: Mikee from Sikth, Brandon Boyd or John Legend.

Best Dark Band: Amen or early Eminem.

Best Light Band: Common or Biffy Clyro.

Best use of emotion: Radiohead, Nas and I really like The Used's 1st album, in a whiney, emotional way.

Best sub 3 minute song: System of a Down - Cigaro

Best plus 7 minute song: Metallica - Master of Puppets. Hey, say what you want about it, I like it.

Best use of guitars in a band (not in an individual song, and not a guitairst...just the name of the band who uses the guitars to thier best in your opinion): Muse for the win.

Best use of drums in a band (see the same as above, just with drums and not guitars): Tool, but I do have to make a mention to Megadeth.

Best Vocalist: Whoever the Offspring dude is (his name escapes me)

Best Dark Band (as in, the best band with dark lyrics): Slayer. I particularly like Disciple for this.

Best Light Band (as in, best band with lighter, happier lyrics): Toss-up here. The Offspring have some good ones, as do System, as do Madness as well. I'll go for the Offspring, because I've listened to them more.

Best sub 3 minute song: There are so many quick tracks I think are great. I guess I'll go with The Offspring - "All I want" one and a half minutes of high paced punk.

Best plus 7 minute song: Nightwish - "Ghost Love Score" completely blows me away even now.

Best use of guitars in a band: I really don't know there are so many great guitarists out there who compliment the bands so well I couldn't just name one.

Best use of drums in a band: Slipknot, I think Joey's a fantastic drummer and it fits the style great. I'm just disapointed there are so many tracks that the music doesn't seem to fit properly. The drumming is always spot on though.

Best Lyricist: Morrisey, simply fantastic lyrics almost all the time.

Best Vocalist: Tarja Turunen - Nightwish, easy answer, simply incredible voice.

Best Dark Band: Rammstein - incest, canibalism, great live show and an olympic swimmer :shifty:

Best Light Band: Bloodhound Gang some simply hilarious songs and videos, great to listen to when I'm feeling down as they always put a smile on my face.

Best use of emotion: Alkaline Trio - An odd choice to some but some of their stuff hits me emotionally every time I hear it. Nice guys too (Y)

Johny Rzeznik is the bloke who writes for the Goo's, I think (I might have got his name completely wrong though).

And Goo's and David Gray love is all good by me.

I can't find any Voltaire to try out, and Nick Cave never really struck a chord with me. Although he is pretty amazing.

I think he was expecting Skumfrog to put him in there.
