Predictions...

APW Championship

Jerry Lynn © vs. 'The Notorious 187' Homicide

Would be senseless for Lynn to drop the belt so early into his reign. I expect a hard fought match, with Lynn winning clean. Maybe a post-match beat down from 'Cide.

APW Tag Team Championships

The Strong Brothers (Roderick and Sedrick Strong) © vs. Claudio Castagnoli and Danny Daniels

Again would be senseless them dropping the belts - especially after such an 'easy' win in their last defence. Build them up, build another team up, then have them feud down the line.

'The Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels vs. 'Classic' Colt Cabana

A win for Cabana would do him a world of good. Daniels wouldn't be hurt by a defeat.

Ricky Reyes vs. Charlie Haas

Balances out the ME result.

Alex Shelley vs. Matt Sydal

Being #1 contender and all, would be stupid booking him to lose to a guy not even in the World title scene.

Jay Lethal vs. Delirious

Because you are a Delirious mark.

Salvatore Rinauro vs. Milano Collection AT

Debut match, makes sense to have him win.

Josh Daniels vs. 'Sterling' James Keenan

Who cares?

The Ring Crew Express (Dunn/Marcos) vs. Southern Comfort (Tracy Smothers/Chris Hamrick)

Why not?

'Midwest vs. SoCal Series'

Match One

Brandon Thomaselli w/The Iron Saints vs. The Human Tornado w/The Aerial Express

Who the f--- is the Human Tornado? Sounds like a Hurricane rip off. lol

Off topic for a sec:

thanks for letting me watch Joe v Kobashi earlier - awesome match.

On topic again:

I'm liking the direction of some of these feuds. Keep it up! I'd like to see a Lethal/Cabana feud - think it would be pretty nifty. Also, you thought of bringing in a few puroresu/luch libre guys to give your undercard an international flavour?

Retribution

Friday 24th March 2006

Edison, New Jersey

1) SOUTHERN COMFORT def. THE RING CREW EXPRESS (10:05) in a decent opening match. Dunn and Marcos did a good job of playing the angry, fired-up babyfaces, dominating Southern Comfort at first, and hitting the expected dives to the floor to warm the crowd up, and really making it seem like they would walk the match. Comfort got back into proceedings though, and did wear down Dunn for a short while, but The RCE did have the definite edge in this match, dominating the majority of it. For the finish, the ref took a bump, and the crowd began to boo, half in anticipation of what was to come. As Hamrick and Marcos were not to be seen on the floor, Dunn was in command of Tracy Smothers in the ring, and appeared to have the match won, when Hamrick appeared out of nowhere and hit Dunn with a VILE chairshot that echoed round the arena. Smothers covered Dunn, and as Marcos tried to come into the ring to make the save, Hamrick held him down to prevent him from doing so. The ref came round and counted the fall. Southern Comfort steal the match with a horrible chair shot! After the match, Southern Comfort left celebrating. Marcos came into the ring to check on Dunn, and helps him to his feet. We can see that Dunn is badly cut open, with blood gushing from his forehead, and his head nearly totally red with blood. People swarm to the ring to check on Dunn, who is spilling blood EVERYWHERE after that horrible chair shot from Hamrick. After officials clear his face up some, and clean some puddles of blood of the mat, Dunn is helped to the back, still a bit groggy on his feet, and still with blood streaking down the side of his face. Decent opener.

2) Midwest vs. SoCal series

Match One

BRANDON THOMASELLI def. THE HUMAN TORNADO (8:35) in a poor-ish match. The occasional good shot, or a decent sequence of moves, but mostly a poor match. Brandon wins with a '450 Splash', to give the midwest a 1-0 lead.

3) JOSH DANIELS def. 'Sterling' JAMES KEENAN in a fairly good match (12:14). A good technical affair, with the odd high-spot. Daniels makes Keenan tap to the 'Texas Cloverleaf' to score his first win in APW.

4) MILANO COLLECTION AT def. SALVATORE RINAURO (12:31) in a fair match. Some good spots in here, mostly a fast-paced cruiser style match, with the odd bit of technical and mat wrestling (mostly from Milano). Milano wins with his 'IR' finishing move.

5) DELIRIOUS def. JAY LETHAL (15:42). A good match. Maybe a bit more technical wrestling than some might have expected, with a lot of mat work in the early stages, and more technical countering and holds as the match wore on, with some high-spots and periods of quicker action thrown in to 'heat' the match up. The pair then went to a much quicker final couple of minutes before the finish which saw Lethal attempt the 'Dragon Suplex', but Delirious countered, skillfully landed on his feet behind Lethal, span him around and hit the 'Chemical imbalance' for the win. Lethal drops to 1-1 in APW. Delirious had a couple of comedy moments, including hiding under the ring, then jumping out to surprise Lethal, then finding a bald guy in the crowd and rubbing his bald head and belly at the same time. Good technical match with the odd high-spot, so not the fast paced, action packed flyer some may have expected.

6) APW Tag Team Championships

THE STRONG BROTHERS def. DANNY DANIELS and 'Double C' CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI to retain (15:28) in a decent match with some good moments and sequences. The best of The Strong's title defences so far, as they had been slightly underwhelming to date. Daniels and Castagnoli wore down Sedrick for quite a while, but kept the match interesting with some unique moves, good tag team strategy and generally a good standard of wrestling, before the inevitable hot tag to Roderick Strong who cleared house, giving Castagnoli in particular a brutal double-underhook back-breaker. The ref was down, but the Strong's seemed to be in control and have the match won as Sedrick had Daniels in the 'Stronghold' with nowhere to go. Daniels was moments from tapping, when Castagnoli hit Sedrick in the back of the head with one of the championship belts! Castagnoli put Daniels on top of Sedrick, and went out of the ring to keep Roderick Strong at bay. The ref slowly came round, and began he count as the crowd boo'd. 1-2-No! The delay in the referee coming round was enough time to allow Sedrick to recover some, but he was still in a bad way. Daniels complained to the referee, then began to pick Sedrick up as on the outside 'Double C' whipped Roderick into the steel crowd barrier then slid into the ring. Daniels and Castagnoli now had a 2-1 advantage, and Daniels motioned for Castagnoli to go up top for his diving head-butt finisher. Daniels gave Sedrick a powerslam so he was in position for Castagnoli, but Caastagnoli took too long going up top, and Roderick Strong appeared out of nowhere, jumping onto the apron, and pushing Castagnoli off the top rope. Castagnoli hit the crowd barrier head first, and the thud was sickening. Roderick rolled into the ring, and ran at Daniels with a clothesline, but Daniels ducked under. He and Strong met each other in the centre of the ring and exchanged blows. Daniels got the edge with a thumb to the eye – much to the annoyance of the crowd – and this allowed him to clothesline Roderick over the top rope to the floor. Daniels watched him land awkwardly, but all this time had allowed Sedrick to recover, and he quickly rolled Daniels up with a 'school-boy' for a three-count! Sedrick slid out of the ring, and picked Roderick up off the floor. They were met at the bottom of the entrance way by the referee who handed them their belts, and the Strong Brothers lifted them up for the crowd. The Strong's retain in a fairly good match.

7) ALEX SHELLEY def. MATT SYDAL (16:41) in a very good match. Was the MOTN until this point. After a thirllingly quick opening exchange, Shelley began his wearing down of Sydal, which lasted quite a while. It was enjoyable to watch however as Shelley kept the offence varied and and kept the paceing of the match just right so the audience didn't have time to get bored of a certain hold. Sydal also kept the crowd in the match with a couple of unsucessful fightbacks, including one where he had a series of near falls, ending with a piledriver which Shelley could only barely kick out of. Shelley once again asserted his dominance on the match for a period, before the inevitable Sydal fightback that lead to the more even finish. Shelley won when Sydal ran at him, looking for a clothesline, but Shelley ducked under, and executed a high-angle backdrop, dropping Sydal RIGHT on the back of his head, the audience gasping at how sick the move looked. In one swift movement, and without ever really letting go of Sydal, Shelley turned and locked in the 'Border City Stretch'! Urged on by the crowd, Sydal fought the move for as long as he possibly could, but Shelley had the move on too tight, and Sydal was just too far from the ropes. After struggling and agonising in the hold for what must have seemed like an eternity to him, Sydal had no choice but to tap-out to the pain. Shelley celebrates his win, before his APW Championship match next show against the winner of the upcoming Lynn/Homicide match. Very good encounter.

8) 'The Fallen Angel' CHRISTOPHER DANIELS def. 'Classic' COLT CABANA in the MOTN (18:26). It was a close candidate for MOTN, as it was only slightly better than the great Shelley/Sydal encounter. Had some excellent technical and mat-based action, with some high octane reversals and sequences of action thrown in. Daniels survived a fair few of Cabana's unorthodox pinning combinations, and Cabana kicked out of a BME as the match wore on. Both men showed why they are two of the country's most highly regarded indy talents today. Daniels won when Cabana hoisted him up for a 'Colt 45', but Daniels dropped down Cabana's back and rolled him up, holding the tights for extra leverage to get the three. Daniels celebrated his cheap win.

--- After, Daniels got on the mic, and conducted a basic run-down of Samoa Joe, including saying Joe was 'stupid' and a comment about 'making sure their match was a double count-out' because Joe knows he can't beat Daniels in the ring'. Eventually, Samoa Joe makes his way to the ring, looking very pissed off. The two stare-down intensely, and the crowd eagerly anticipate a brawl. Joe seems to disappoint them as he lifts the mic from Daniels' hands, and seems ready to give a verbal retort. However, as he puts the mic to his mouth, he swerves and clocks Daniels with it! Daniels clutches his face, as Joe shoves him into a corner, and works away with a series of punches and slaps to the head and chest. Daniels eventually rakes Joe's eyes and dives out of the ring to try and escape, but Joe is right behind him. The trade punches at ring-side, but Joe over-powers Daniels and gives him punches and chops to the head and torso, and clubs the back of Daniels. Officials come out to separate them, but Joe shoves them off, before beating down Daniels enough to utilise his vicious 'Ole Kick'! The crowd go mad for the move as Daniels sinks to the floor, and partly shepherded by officials, Joe leaves the ringside area and goes to the back, job done.

9) CHARLIE HAAS def. RICKY REYES (16:55) in a good match, but one that was not quite as good as you might have expected. Nothing was bad, it was all good, but at no point was the action special, and there just wasn't a 'wow' factor to it. Reyes looked good, hitting some impactful, stiff moves on Haas, and scoring with some brutal kicks and strikes. Even so, Haas dominated the match around 60/40, and won with the 'Haas of Pain'.

10) APW Championship

JERRY LYNN def. 'The Notorious 187' HOMICIDE to retain (21:04) in good match that falls slightly short of being a very good contest, as the opening was a bit lacking, and the odd botched spot let things down. The action was mostly very good though, Homicide really appearing to 'kill' Lynn in places with his ferocious style. There was some good wrestling too, with some good hold for hold action, and some nice exchanges of moves. Lynn survived a lariot much to the annoyance of Homicide, who aruged with the referee. This was almost his downfall as Lynn rolled him up for a two. Towards the end, Homicide started to try and wear Lynn out with some submission holds. It was as Lynn was fighting out of a sleeper that he started to get some momentum going, hitting Homicide with a fast assault of moves. He went for a drop-kick, but 'Cide ducked, and Lynn hit the referee. The crowd booed as Reyes ran in, and attacked Lynn. Homicide and Reyes put the boots in to Jerry Lynn, before Charlie Haas appeared and made the save, chasing Reyes off as the referee got back to his feet. Homicide thought the damage was done, and went over to pick Lynn up, no doubt to hit the 'Cop Killah'. As he grabbed Lynn by the head however, Lynn sprang up and pulled Homicide into a 'Small Package'! 1-2-NO! Homicide gets out of the hold at 2.9999. The crowd 'ahhhhh' as they thought that was the finish. Both men spring back to their feet. Homicide turns and starts for Lynn, but sprints right into Jerry who in one motion scoops him up into the 'Cradle Piledriver'! 1-2-3. Jerry Lynn retains, in a match that after a slow start got better as it went along.

Lynn takes a few seconds to get his breath and regain his composure, before the referee brings him is belt. Lynn takes the belt, and leaves the ring, celebrating at ringside with the crowd. Homicide comes round, and beats the canvas in frustration at losing. He then spots Lynn at ringside, and quickly jumps out of the ring, and attacks Lynn from behind with a clubbing shot across the back. Lynn falls to his feet, dropping the title belt. Homicide picks the belt up, and when Lynn gets back up, Homicide plasters Lynn with the championship belt. He then throws Lynn's lifeless body into the ring, and goes under the ring to get a chair. He takes it into the ring, and gives Lynn some sick shots to the back with the chair. Then, turning the chair sideways on, he brutally hits Lynn on the back of the neck with the side of the chair. Lynn is now totally out, and Homicide has to keep him up by leaning Lynn against him. He puts the chair round Lynn's neck, then thrusts Lynn to the floor, the chair hitting the mat with Lynn's neck trapped in the middle of it.

Homicide raises his arms to the crowd who boo wildly, and eventually leaves. Medics rush out to attend to Lynn, and the show comes to and end with Lynn being taken out of the arena on a stretcher, wearing a neckbrace.

Quick Results:

1)Southern Comfort def. The Ring Crew Express (10:05) ***

2)Brandon Thomaselli def. The Human Tornado (8:35) **1/2

3)Josh Daniels def. James Keenan (12:14) ***

4)Milano Collection AT def. Salvatore Rinauro (12:31) ***

5)Delirious def. Jay Lethal (15:42) ***1/2

6)The Strong Brothers def. Danny Daniels and Claudio Castagnoli (15:28) ***

7)Alex Shelley def. Matt Sydal (16:41) ****

8)Christopher Daniels def. Colt Cabana (18:26) ****

9)Charlie Haas def. Ricky Reyes (16:55) ***1/2

10)Jerry Lynn def. Homicide (21:04) ***3/4

Thoughts: An all round decent show, but there isn't really anything here that is must-see, and nothing to make the show special. Whilst nothing bar Thomaselli/Tornado is bad, Daniels/Cabana and Shelley/Sydal stand out from the rest, and even these aren't exactly 'must sees'. The Lynn/Homicide main event is a good encounter, and Haas and Reyes doesn't live up to expectations, but is still a solid encounter to go alongside Delirious/Lethal. Everything else falls into the fine, but nothing great category, the kind of match you can watch happily but never really get into or find anything memorable from. Overall, a solid effort, and a very good all-rounder, but you won't find many matches here to keep coming back to over and over again.

Right. The next card is called 'I'll Feelings', and will be on the 21st April 2006 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I had this planned:

We all saw the feud between 'The Fallen Angel' CHRISTOPHER DANIELS and SAMOA JOE escalate at 'Retribution' as Joe attacked Daniels after Daniels had beaten Colt Cabana using dirty tactics. Both men want to get into the ring with each other, and at 'I'll Feelings', APW are giving them that chance! 'I'll Feelings' will feature a tag team match as Joe teams with 'Classic' COLT CABANA to take on Daniels and a partner of Daniels' choosing. We'll announce Daniels' partner as and when we know it.

Ill Feelings

April 21st 2006

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

--- In pre-show interviews, Samoa Joe did an interview saying how disappointing it is to lose a wrestler like Christopher Daniels, and that there issue may never be resolved. However, he vows to make the fans forget about Daniels leaving by getting a convincing win tonight.

Colt Cabana had a quick interview saying he would get 'off the block' by getting his first APW win tonight, and briefly made fun of opponent Jimmy Rave.

Finally, both Alex Shelley and Jerry Lynn did interviews. Shelley spouted the usual about the fact he believes Lynn should let down, and 'let age surrender to experience'. He vows to end Lynn's 'reign of selfishness' as the APW Champion tonight, and that Lynn can never compete with a talent like Alex Shelley. Lynn vowed to shut Shelley up once and for all, and that he would continue to help younger talent by passing on his knowledge and experience in the ring. He avoided the issue of his injured neck.

1) No DQ match

THE RING CREW EXPRESS def. SOUTHERN COMFORT (13:47) in a slightly disappointing end to their feud. For whatever reason – maybe the wrestlers weren't comfortable with the No DQ rule meaning weapons were involved – the match just didn't seem to 'click' and seemed very stop start. A few bits of decent brawling mixed with old school heel wrestling from Comfort coupled with RCE getting the odd good spot in meant this wasn't horrible, but it certainly wasn't a good match, and was way below average. Was way surpassed by their match at 'Retribution'. With Smothers down on the outside, Marcos floored Hamrick with a chair shot, then held the chair across Hamrick's torso whilst Dunn climbed a turnbcukle. Dunn came off with a leg-drop onto the chair that was across Hamrick's chest and body for the three count. After, Dunn and Marcos celebrate their big win.

2) JOSH DANIELS and 'Lightning' MIKE QUACKENBUSH def. 'Sterling' JAMES KEENAN and SALVATORE RINAURO when Daniels trapped Keenan in a pinning combination (9:52). Decent technical based match with some good moments, but will be totally forgotten in a short space of time. Still, very decent. Rinauro and Keenan may have something as a team if a singles run doesn't work out.

3) Extreme Warfare Match

DANNY DANIELS def. HALLOWICKED, FAST EDDIE VEGAS, SEDRICK STRONG, EDDIE KINGSTON and MILANO COLLECTION AT (20:24). Not a good match. Potentially a good idea, particularly badly executed, although it could be a good 'hardcore-lite' match, there wasn't enough good wrestling to please grapple fans, and not enough weapons or blood to please hardcore fans. The occasional good exchange and the odd good spots save this somewhat. A few good spots included Vegas top-rope leg-dropping Kingston through a table on the outside, some other good 'spot monkey' dives from Vegas and Hallowicked, and and Kingston TOTALLY destroying Hallowicked with a vile chair shot, then powerbombing Vegas onto a piece of guard-rail he'd balanced between guard-rail and the apron! Anyway, onto elimination's. Hallowicked was the first out, still scrambled after that chair shot from Kingston, he easily fell victim to Danny Daniels' 'Tombstone Piledriver' about six minutes into the match. Fast Eddie Vegas was gone next. His back still killing him after that powerbomb onto the steel guard-rail, he tried to fight on, but was no match for the 'Stronghold' from Sedrick Strong, tapping out a few minutes after Hallowicked had been eliminated. Daniels rolled up Strong just under fifteen minutes in to leave it down to Daniels, Milano and Kingston. Milano pinned Kingston with the 'IR' bang on the seventeen minute mark. Daniels and Milano actually had a good little 'match' for a few minutes at the end, but Daniels countered a German Suplex by wrapping his legs round Milano's and rolling forward into a pinning combo, and held the middle rope allowing Daniels to pick up the three, and win the first ever Extreme Warfare match. Again, potentially a good match, poorly done, which is surprising considering some of the talent involved (like Milano, Daniels and the rest are all decent-good workers in their style of wrestling). Daniels wins.

4) Midwest vs. SoCal series

Match Two

THE IRON SAINTS w/Brandon Thomaselli def. THE AERIAL EXPRESS w/The Human Tornado (12:06). Reasonable match, these two teams always seem to produce decent action. A solid, if un-spectacular match throughout. Scorpio Sky thought he had the match won, but Brandon Thomaselli got on the apron and distracted the ref. Tornado ran round the ring, and pulled Brandon off the apron, but the distraction allowed Sal Thomaselli to sneak up on Scorpio Sky, low-blow him and roll him up for the win. The Iron Saints go 2-0 up in the series.

5) Triple Threat Match

MATT SYDAL def. DELIRIOUSand JAY LETHAL (15:23). Very good match. Very fast paced, even the more technical parts had a certain 'pulse' to them. Mostly however a high-flying cruiser style affair, with a good solid technical 'base' to the match at times. All three thought they had the match won on numerous occasions. Sydal broke up a fall after Delirious had landed the 'Chemical Imbalance' on Lethal, Sydal hit his spectacular 'Belly to Belly' Moonsault on Delirious, but Lethal made the save, and Delirious saved Sydal from being beaten by the 'Dragon Suplex'. Many more reversals and last-gasp saves kept the drama high as the match wore on, with only a little patch in the middle dragging a bit as the three exchanges rest-holds and low-key submission holds. For the finish, Sydal was down on the arena floor. Delirious seemed to have Lethal about put away, and climbed the turnbuckle, waiting for Lethal to begin to get up so Delirious could use the 'Shadows over Hell' to end the match. As Lethal staggered to his feet, still bent over, Delirious prepared to leap, but Sydal jumped up onto the apron from nowhere, and knocked Delirious off into the ring. Delirious landed on his feet, but staggered into a 'Dragon Suplex'! This one is over! Lethal bridges the suplex, pinning Delirious! 1-Sydal leaps onto the turnbuckle – 2 – Sydal fly's off and breaks the pin with a double stomp onto Lethal's exposed stomach! He broke the fall at the very last split second! A 'holy shit' chant starts as Lethal yells and clutches his stomach in pain, and rolls toward the edge of the ring. After a second or two, Sydal pulls himself to his feet. All he has to do is hit a 'Standing Moonsault' on the already downed Delirious to pick up the win. Sydal wins a match that was good and entertaining throughout.

6) SAMOA JOE def. 'Double C' CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI with the 'Muscle-Buster' (13:05). A solid encounter. Good technical wrestling. They had a small story here, after Castagnoli realised going strike-for-strike with Joe wasn't a good idea, Double C realised he couldn't compete power-wise with Joe, so tried using mat-wrestling to try and beat him, but Joe is a very accomplished wrestler also, so this tactic only stalled Joe for a while, rather than stop him. This wasn't the whole focus of the match though, more a little something added in, rather than the whole focus of the match. Joe proved too much in the end though, hitting his finisher for the win. Good for what's here, and a solid encounter.

7) 'Classic' COLT CABANA def. JIMMY RAVE (15:46) with the 'Colt 45'. Another good match. Followed the old routine of 'face dominates, heel wears face down, face comes back, finishing sequence routine. Rave did a good job of making a lot of basic wrestling offence (like vertical suplex's, back-breakers, backdrops and some stiff chops etc, which were mainly the moves he used to wear Cabana down) seem really fun, and really kept fans into the match, and Cabana was as good as normal. Cabana lasted a 'Shining Wizard' as he was close enough to get his hand on the bottom rope, much to Rave's chagrin. This good match ends when Rave signals for the 'Rave Clash', and goes to grapple Cabana. Cabana however sends a hard shot to the temple of Rave. They exchange blows, before Cabana ducks behind Rave, whilst holding an arm, then hoists him up for the 'Colt 45' to get the win.

8) CHARLIE HAAS def. 'The Messiah of the Backbreaker' RODERICK STRONG (23:33) in a very good match. Very good pro wrestling, with some good technical bits. A lot of the match was very equal, with a lot of counters, and neither man holding an advantage for long, barring one middle portion of the match, where the more experienced Haas wore down Strong, and it seemed only a matter of time until he won. Strong fought back though, utilising his arsenal of backbreakers amongst other things, leading to a thrilling end of the match that saw more of the same reversals and counters, and attempts at finishing moves. In the end, Haas got the 'Haas of Pain' locked in in the centre of the ring, and despite fighting the hold for some time, Strong had no choice but to eventually tap out to the hold. A very good long match, with some great wrestling. Haas wins.

9) APW Championship

ALEX SHELLEY def. JERRY LYNN to become the NEW APW Champion (21:09) in the MOTN. They played up the neck injury Lynn received at the hands of Homicide last month. Due to this, Shelley worked the neck and upper chest of Lynn, to further his chances of winning. Lynn got out of the blocks quickly, but he was always in pain from his neck. When Shelley got into the match, he selected the body part, and went to town wearing it down. The story was the injury and that made the 'Border City Stretch' even more excruciating than normal. Shelley locked the hold in about 10 minutes in, but Lynn was right by the rope. He went for it again a few minutes later, but Lynn was able to escape before Shelley could properly lock the hold in. As the match wore on, a few near falls drove the crowd excitement up, and the crowd went wild when Lynn was able to hit the 'Cradle Piledriver', but Lynn was unable to make the cover right away due to the amount of punishment he'd absorbed. This delay gave Shelley a vital few extra seconds to recover, meaning when Lynn was finally able to make a cover, Shelley could get his shoulder up at a two count. In the end, Shelley locked the 'Border City Stretch' on Lynn right in the middle of the ring. For literally a few seconds, Lynn agonised and struggled in total agony in the hold, before having no choice but to tap out due the pain from the neck injury! Alex Shelley becomes the new APW Champion! After the match, people come down to the ring to check on Jerry Lynn, who is helped to the back, as Shelley celebrates with his belt as the show comes to an end. Very good wrestling, and the dramatic story added to it as well.

9)Alex Shelley def. Jerry Lynn (21:09) ****1/4

Thoughts: A mixed bag. The title match is great fun, and Haas Strong is a very solid match also. Cabana/Rave, Joe/Castagnoli and the triple threat all add to a good mid and upper card, but its the opening bouts that let this show down, starting with a disappointing end to the Southern Comfort vs. RCE feud. It continues with a decent but forgettable tag team match, and the Extreme Warfare match that is a good, potentially great concept badly done. A more accurate description of this show would be a game of two halves. Even then its only the last two matches that have any lasting worth, and neither will be MOTY candidates.

Wow...this is really good!

I was bored and was just checkin the diarys on the main page currently, and I'd have to say this is probably my favorite of them all.

I was lovin the Daniels/Joe fued...so that sucks about Chris bailing. I've become a huge Gen Next fan, so Shelley with the belt is fine by me. Here's hopin for a long Haas/Shelley program.

I'd love to see Lynn and Strong fued, even over the tag belts with Lynn finding a former partner to help him...abviously not right away...has The competitor in Lynn would look to retain his gold first and foremost...but maybe in a few months.

I'm not too familiar with most of the tag teams you have, but I love that you have a competitive division and you always allow your Tag teams a few matches a night.

Overall, mainly just praise to give to this diary...I will be reading, and look forward to predicting some esults when the next card is posted.

Wouldn't mind actually seeing a few of those matches happen in a real life situation, cause reading a few of those made me wanna see them (lke the triple Threat and the Main event) All in all, I did all right on my predictions...Can't wait to see what u come up with for the next show!

'The Notorious 197' HOMICIDE is eager to return to APW competition, after admitting his 'invasion' idea was a flop. Despite his past actions, APW is happy to have someone of Homicide's talents involved with the company. Homicide won't have to wait long to return either, as he will feature on night one of the upcoming 'A Little respect' weekend. He takes on CHARLIE HAAS in what is billed an 'Indy Dream Match'! Homicide says that normally he is prepared to do anything to win, but he understands that the fans expect a good, clean wrestling classic from this match, and he needs to get himself back into favour with the fans, managment and other APW Superstars after his actions. Due to this, he has vowed to not cheat, or use any under-hand tactics in this match. Haas says he simply doesn't believe him, and will be prepared for the worst cheap tactics when they meet.

The 'A Little Respect' weekend will take place on the 19th May 2006 in Wilmington, Ohio and on the 20th May 2006 in New York city, New York.

APW Championship

Alex Shelley © vs. Hallowicked

Shelley to retain. 1. He's better. 2. He's only just become champ after a short reign from the previous champ. 3. It makes sense with the following night.

APW Tag Team Championships

The Strong Brothers (Roderick and Sedrick Strong) vs. The Ring Crew Express (Dunn/Marcos)

I can see the strong brother being pushed as champs for a loooooong time before another superly pushed team takes it from them. Not yet then.

Indy Dream Match

Charlie Haas vs. 'The Notorious 187' Homicide

As part of Homicide 'paying his dues'/to get in the good graces of management.

Four-Corner Match

Winner gets APW Championship match on night two

Jerry Lynn vs. Samoa Joe vs. 'Classic' Colt Cabana vs. Danny Daniels

Because it's Joe! Would like to see Cabana win it though...

Jay Lethal vs. Jimmy Rave

Just picked one - quite evenly matched.

Matt Sydal vs. 'Double C' Claudio Castagnoli

good u/card match. Makes sense to have Sydal win to give him some momentum. Wouldn't him stepping up and feuding with Cabana, maybe?

'Midwest vs. SoCal' series

Match Three

2-0

Sal Thomaselli w/Vito and Brandon Thomaselli vs. Scorpio Sky w/Quicksilver and The Human Tornado

To get SoCal on the board.

Delirious vs. Fast Eddie Vegas

Because you're a delirious mark.

Josh Daniels vs. Salvatore Rinauro

see above, but replace delirious with sal.

Milano Collection AT and Skayde vs. Slash Venom and Chicano

Because I haven't heard of the other two.

Night II

APW Championship

Alex Shelley vs. Jerry Lynn, Samoa Joe, 'Classic' Colt Cabana OR Danny Daniels

*If Alex Shelley loses the APW Championship on night one, this will be a regular one-on-one contest, and the winner of night one's four way will get their title match at a later date.

Shelley retains against Joe after Lynn interfers and inavdertantly costs Joe the match... leading to Shelly v Joe v Lynn next month. I hope...

APW Tag Team Championships

The Strong Brothers vs. Charlie Haas and Jay Lethal

*If The Strong Brothers lose the APW Tag Team Championships night one, this will be a regular tag team match.

--- Time limit or double DQ draw. I expect Haas and Lethal to win a bunch of tag matches over the next few months, building them as credible challengers to the Strongs.

Danny Daniels vs. Milano Collection AT

Just a guess.

'Midwest vs. SoCal' series

Match Four

3-0 or 2-1

Vito Thomaselli w/Sal and Brandon Thomaselli vs. Quicksilver w/Scorpio Sky and The Human Tornado

To tie things up.

The Human Tornado vs. Sabian

Cos he's cool.

The Ring Crew Express (Dunn/Marcos) vs. The Solution (Havoc/Papadon)

* If Dunn and Marcos win the APW Tag Team Championships on night one, this match will be for the APW Tag Team Championships.

Build them up as challengers.

Six Man Mayhem

Salvatore Rinauro vs. Fast Eddie Vegas vs. Brandon Thomaselli vs. Skayde vs. Delirious vs. Hallowicked

make up for his title loss on the previous night.

'Sterling' James Keenan vs. 'Lightning' Mike Quackenbush

meh.

A Little Respect Weekend, Part I

May 19th 2006

Wilmington, Ohio

--- Homicide cuts an interview for the home release. In it, he states the invasion maybe wasn't the best of ideas, but he still stands by some of his actions. He says by now fans expect him to do whatever to win, and he will. But tonight, the fans have come from all around to see his 'indy dream match' against Charlie Haas, and he won't let them down by using any cheap tactics or foul play to win the match. Tonight, it will be two of the best indy workers around today, one-on-one, in a clean fight. May the best man win.

Colt Cabana followed with a quick little interview, saying how he would win the four way tonight, and in just 24 hours time become the new APW Champion.

Alex Shelley begins an interview, boasting about his APW Championship win, and how he didn't care who wins the four way tonight, he'll beat any challenger who stands in his way. Jerry Lynn comes up, and he and Shelley stare down. Shelley somehow gets even more cocky, and boasts about beating Lynn, and ridding the championship of a selfish, washed up has-been. Lynn says that if Homicide hadn't injured his neck, there would be no way Alex Shelley would have won, and deep down, Shelley knows it. For a split second Shelley's eyes change to a look of acceptance, and a belief in what Lynn is saying. He DOES know it. This look only lasts a second, before Shelley regains his cocky look, laughs at what Lynn is saying, and swaggers off.

1 )JOSH DANIELS def. SALVATORE RINAURO (10:22) in a good opener. Rinauro looked as good here as he has done yet in APW, and it was certainly his best match for the company. An enjoyable mix of mat based and technical action and some high-flying, fast paced spots ends with a simple 'Fisherman's Suplex', allowing Daniels to get the three.

2) Midwest vs. SoCal series

Match Three

SCORPIO SKY w/ Quicksilver and The Human Tornado def. SAL THOMASELLI w/Vito and Brandon Thomaselli (9:47). Decent contest, continuing the run of solid matches in this rivalry. Good grounded action coupled with the odd high spot. It appeared the very same thing as last month was going to happen when Scorpio had the match under control, but Brandon distracted the ref. Tornado again ran round the ring and pulled Brandon off the apron, and again Sal sneaked up behind Scorpio and low-blowed him before rolling him up. The crowd booed the EXACT same finish as last month, but cheered when this time Scorpio kicked out at two! Both men speedily got to their feet, and Scorpio gave Sal a knee to the gut followed by the 'Fatal Answer' for the three count! Scorpio Sky pulls the series back to 1-2 to the Midwesters.

3) MILANO COLLECTION AT and Skayde def. SLASH VENOM and CHICANO in an average bout (9:18). Maybe just below average, this was a solid match with the one too many 'awkward' patch, and the occasional botched spot. Milano however did look impressive. After an evenly fought contest, it was Milano who got Chicano trapped in the 'AT Lock' for the submission victory.

4) DELIRIOUS def. FAST EDDIE VEGAS (12:24) in a good high-flyer. The usual fast paced, spotty kind of lightweight match you'd expect, with the standard dives to the floor and top rope manoeuvres. Delirious did add a grounded element early on, but soon gave that up for high-octane action. Not just a spotfest though, there were some good exchanges and sequences of moves, just all done at 100 miles an hour. Slowed slightly about two-thirds in, no doubt a rest period. Anyway, an enjoyable match ends when Delirious builds up a tonne of momentum. He hits the Panic Attack in the corner, then drags Vegas into the middle of the ring for the 'Chemical Imbalance'. Vegas counters, as when Delirious pump-handles him, he squirms down and over the shoulder of Delirious, landing behind him. He spins his bizarre foe around and gives him some punches to the face. Delirious responds by blocking a few, then giving Eddie some shots of his own. His punches leave Eddie reeling enough for Delirious to go for the 'Chemical Imbalance' again, and this time hits it. 1-2-3. Delirious is your winner.

5) 'Double C' CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI def. MATT SYDAL (14:56). A good traditional American wrestling match with some high spots from Sydal thrown in, including a corkscrew plancha to to the floor that saw him twist innumerable time in the air. For the finish, Sydal climbed the turnbuckle, but 'Double C' kicked the ref slightly in the side, causing him to fall against the ropes. This meant Sydal lost his footing on the tope rope, giving Castagnoli time to climb up and deliver a superplex to Sydal! Both men stayed down for a few seconds due to the impact of the move, before Castagnoli got to his feet. He rolled Sydal up in a 'Mahistrol Cradle' and held the near by rope for extra leverage! 1-2-3. Castagnoli gains yet another cheap win. Good match

6) JIMMY RAVE def. JAY LETHAL (14:23) with more cheap shenanigans. Another fairly good match, about as good as the one that preceded it. Both men spent a while exchanging mat based holds in a slightly elongated 'feeling out' process, before Rave took control. Rave wore Lethal down with some offence including a variety of suplex's, backbreakers and other variations to very traditional holds, but the match was interesting. Lethal got the crowd worker up with a few failed comebacks, before he finally got back into the match, ducking a 'Shining Wizard' and hitting a step-up enzuigiri to send Rave crashing to the mat. Lethal continued to build up momentum, leading to the finish. Lethal went for his 'Dragon Suplex', but was too close to the corner. Rave escaped the finisher by taking a few steps backwards hard, shoving Lethal back first into the turnbuckle. Rave walked forward slightly, and took a moment to shake off the effects of Lethal's offence. This gave Lethal time to regain his composure again though. Lethal came up behind Rave, and locked his arms in position for another 'Dragon Suplex' attempt! Rave struggled to escape the grasp of Lethal, and as the referee walked in front of him, Rave kicked his right leg backwards, giving a low-blow to Lethal! Lethal shouted and began to sink to the mat in pain, and this was more than enough opportunity for Rave to hit the 'Rave Clash' for the win. Rave steals a victory.

7) APW Tag Team Championships

THE STRONG BROTHERS def. THE RING CREW EXPRESS to retain (11:13). An average tag bout, slightly more competitive than the earlier Strong Brothers title defences, but still dominated by the tag team champions. Dunn and Marcos got a fair few high spots in, and some fast paced exchanges, but a fair portion of the match was The Strongs wearing down Dunn, targeting the back area, which of course gave Roderick Strong ample opportunity to use his many backbreaker variations. The Ring Crew Express used a fun unique double team moves to try and end the match, such as Marcos doing a back Senton onto Sedrick off the shoulders of Dunn, but in the end the tag champions retained the belts when Roderick pinned Dunn with the 'CXO3'. Fair tag team action.

8) APW Championship

ALEX SHELLEY def. HALLOWICKED to retain (8:09). Basically a squash match, but a good one. Hallowicked got the occasional move in, including the obligatory 'roll-up out of nowhere for a long two', but Shelley controlled 90% of the proceedings. Hallowicked got a bit more into the match as it went on, including the aforementioned roll-up, and a top rope cross-body that also got two, but in the end found himself trapped in the 'Border City Stretch' with nowhere to go. Hallowicked taps, Shelley wins. Good match for what is was, due in most part to Shelley.

9) Four Corner Match

Winner gets APW Championship match tomorrow night

'Classic' COLT CABANA def. DANNY DANIELS, JERRY LYNN and SAMOA JOE (24:40) in a good match, but nowhere near the great match it promised to be. Good, but borderline disappointing considering the talent involved. Whilst the match may not have been of the highest quality, the fans did get to see a lot of signature moves, as they saw Daniels hit a 'Tombstone Piledriver', Cabana hit an 'Asai Moonsault' as Daniels and Joe brawled on the floor, as well as later hitting a 'Colt 45'. Lynn also utilised his 'Cradle Piledriver' and Joe got all his popular moves in such as his 'Ole Kick', his 'Boston Crab/STF/Crossface' submission combo, a face wash and the 'Muscle Buster' amongst others. In the end, it appeared Lynn had Daniels beat with the 'Cradle Piledriver', but the ref was down. Then, solely to stop Lynn winning, Alex Shelley came to ringside and dragged Lynn out of the ring before giving Lynn the 'Shellshock' on the concrete floor! Shelley was unconcerned with who won now Lynn was out of the scene, as he continued to berate the former APW Champion with verbal abuse whilst watching the rest of the contest. Joe picked up the fallen Daniels, and went for a 'Muscle Buster' but Daniels fought off the hold and clotheslined Joe over the top rope, but turned right into Cabana who lifted Daniels up for the 'Colt 45' and the three count. Cabana celebrated his win, and gestured to Shelley he would win the APW Championship tomorrow night. Shelley got in the ring and he and Cabana squared off, staring each other down intensely. Shelley turned to leave, then suddenly swung round and hit Cabana with the Championship belt! Cabana fell to the mat, as the fans booed. They jeered more as Shelley raised his arms and the belt in a mock celebration. Shelley climbed out of the ring, and started up the aisle. On his way to the back, he passed Lynn who was just pulling himself to his feet after the 'Shellshock' on the floor. Callously, Shelley waited, belt raised until an extremely groggy Lynn gingerly got to his feet before Shelley swung back and belted Lynn over the head with the championship belt as well! Lynn fell to the floor, totally out cold, and Shelley laughed off taking out his two biggest rivals for the belt before heading to the back to a chorus of boo's.

10) Indy Dream Match

'The Notorious 187' HOMICIDE def. CHARLIE HAAS (23:05) in by far the match of the night, around a ****. They went for a slow build with a good ten minutes or so of slow mat work and a long 'feeling out' process, before 'Cide started to dominate the match, wearing Haas down. Haas always fought back, and at times it seemed Homicide would resort to cheating to beat Haas, but everytime he seemed to remember his vow to play cleanly and decided against any cheap tactics. At one point, he went as far as to get a chair from ringside to nail Haas, but upon entering the ring remembered his promise. This almost cost him however, because as he turned round to hand the chair to an official at ringside, Haas hit him with a 'German Suplex' for a two count. About seventeen minutes in, Haas evened things out, and the last few minutes of gripping action saw plenty of false finish's and both men seemed to take it in turns to hi progressively bigger moves on each other, as neither could hold an advantage for any length of time. Homicide was in the 'Haas of Pain' for several seconds before making the ropes. Homicide almost flipped as he hit his 'Cop Killah' finish only for Haas to get a foot on the rope. Homicide banged his fists on the mat in frustration, then dragged Haas further into the centre of the ring, before taking off his elbow pad, and signalling for the 'Lariat'! He ran back and as Haas got to his feet, Homicide caught him with a STIFF 'Lariat' that echoed round the building. Homicide went for a cover, and Haas just rolled a shoulder up at two! Homicide almost lost it, banging his fists and screaming with anger. After a few seconds of this, he seemed to calm, then a grin spread across his face as he saw the chair at ringside. He went to climb out of the ring, but the boo's of the crowd made him rethink his decision. After a few seconds stood in between the ropes, half in, half out of the ring, he decided against it, and waved away the thought of cheating, to the happiness of the crowd. All this time however, had given Haas time to recover, and he climbed to his feet behind Homicide. 'Cide realised, and turned quickly. He swung a right hand at Haas, who ducked it and hit a neckbreaker. He picked 'The Notorious 187' up but Homicide shoved him off and again swung a right with the same result – Haas ducked and this time pulled Homicide down, sticking a knee out so Homicide's back went right into Haas's knee in a kind of backbreaker manoeuvre. He went for the fall, and got a two. Haas got to his feet, and Cide crawled onto his knee's, before giving a loud exclamation of 'Damn It' and banged his fist on the mat in anger. Haas went to pick Homicide up, grabbing him round the back of the head, but at the exact moment the referee couldn't see him,Homicide thrusted his right hand upwards and gave Haas a blatant Low-Blow. Haas doubled over in pain, and this opening gave Homicide chance to hit a second 'Cop Kilah' for the three count. The crowd booed vigourously at having a great, athletic pure wrestling contest ruined by cheap tactics and tainted by a cheap win. Homicide grinned from ear to ear, and was smiling to the point of almost laughing as his hand was raised in victory, before boasting slightly to the fans as the live show ended. Very good match, the MOTN by far.

--- In some interviews on the end of the home release, Colt Cabana talked about how tomorrow night he would get his revenge on Alex Shelley for his actions tonight by taking his APW Championship away from him.

Samoa Joe did a very brief promo stating he was disappointed not to win tonight, as he wanted to end the reign of the disappointing champion APW has in Alex Shelley. Joe also said he was dying to let off some of the steam from the Christopher Daniels situation and this makes him an even more dangerous competitor than normal.

Finally, Charlie Haas was shown, still out of breath and sweating from his match with Homicide. He expressed his own disappointment at how the match ended, about how he had trusted Homicide to play within the rules. He also said how Homicide had let Haas, himself and the fans down by resorting to cheap tactics to win what was otherwise a great, absorbing contest of 'proper' pro wrestling. But in any event, Homicide cheated to beat him, and that means Haas wants his revenge.....

- End Show -

Quick Results:

1)Josh Daniels def. Salvatore Rinauro (10:22) ***1/4

2)Scorpio Sky def. Sal Thomaselli (9:47) ***

3)Milano Collection AT and Skayde def. Slash Venom and Chicano (9:18) **3/4

4)Delirious def. Fast Eddie Vegas (12:24) ***1/4

5)Claudio Castagnoli def. Matt Sydal (14:56) ***1/2

6)Jimmy Rave def. Jay Lethal (14:23) ***1/2

7)The Strong Brothers def. The Ring Crew Express (11:13) ***

8)Alex Shelley def. Hallowicked (8:09) ***1/4

9)Colt Cabana def. Danny Daniels, Jerry Lynn and Samoa Joe (24:40) ***1/2

10)Homicide def. Charlie Haas (23:05) ****

Thoughts: A very good all round show. Nothing at all was bad, and the majority was well above average, there were some really good matches. However, there is only one match that is **** or above (Haas vs. Homicide). This means that whilst this is a great show for overall quality, some shows will have more great matches on them, and a lot of this event falls into the 'good, not great' category. The four way is disappointing considering the talent involved, and though it is good for what it is, the APW Championship is basically a squash match. Rave vs. Lethal and Castagnoli vs. Sydal are the standouts of a solid midcard and the early matches are better than they otherwise might. One of the best all round shows from the company, but with only one match that comes close to being a standout.

Niiice show. Like Cabana being #1 contender,

Updated Predictions:

Shelley vs. Cabana

but hopefully this leads to Shelley v Cabana v Lynn, where Cabana wins the title - you're holding him down damnit!

Sydal v CC

kind of ties them up at 1-1, but have CC beat him down post match, continuing the little fued you've got going there.

J Daniels vs Jimmy Rave

Rave has to be the favourite, but with Daniels booked strongly so he gets over.

awesome show, man. Loved the main event, and the four way, although I agree it prolly coulda been better with what talent was involed (ie Lynn/Joe/Cabana...don't really recognize Daniels all that much, but hey...) anyways...updated predictions:

Shelley vs. Cabana

Sydal vs. Castagnoli

Rave vs. J. Daniels

A Little Respect Weekend, Part II

May 20th 2006

New York, New York

--- In one of four interviews added onto the start of the home release, Roderick Strong talked about how closed he'd come to beating Charlie Haas before, and how tonight the most dominant Tag Team in wrestling would defeat Charlie Haas and his partner Jay Lethal. He said he'd finally beat Haas.

Charlie Haas did a short but good promo about how Strong hadn't beaten him yet, and he wasn't gonna start tonight. He said Strong would only impress him by beating him.

Alex Shelley cut a good promo about his title match against Colt Cabana tonight, and how he would retain his championship, and 'take care of Cabana the same way he took care of Jerry Lynn'.

Colt Cabana wrapped the interviews off by quickly saying tonight was the night someone put a stop to Alex Shelley, and tonight was the night he became the APW Champion.

1) Six Man Mayhem

HALLOWICKED def. FAST EDDIE VEGAS, BRANDON THOMASELLI, DELIRIOUS, SALVATORE RINAURO and SKAYDE to win his first match in APW (11:11). After the match started with the expected dives to the floor, the match became slightly sub-par match but still watchable. A lot of fairly passable action before the match finally sprang to life about two-thirds in. A few blown spots didn't help then either, but a frantic finish and some good moves helped the match be a decent way to warm the crowd up for the rest of the show. The end saw everyone come in and out of the ring to hit their finishers in a frenetic conclusion. Skayde locked the 'Skayde Special' in on Hallowicked, but Brandon broke the hold up. He powerslammed Skayde, then went up top for a '450 Splash', but as soon as he landed it, Salvatore Rinauro hit him with his 'What a manouever' move! He went for a cover, but Delirious pulled him off, and hit the 'Chemical Imbalance'! The bizzare masked wrestler didn't have time to make a cover however as Eddie Vegas slid in the ring and clotheslined him over the top rope. Seeing the downed Rinauro, Vegas pulled him up and hit a 'Jumping Swinging DDT'! Behind him however, Hallowicked had slid back into the ring, and he hit his 'Monsta Mash' move for the three count. A good, fast end helped an otherwise sub-par match.

2) 'Sterling' JAMES KEENAN def. 'Lightning' MIKE QUACKENBUSH (12:25). A decent technical encounter, but nothing special. Keenan wins clean with the 'Razorblade Kiss' after countering a 'Quackendriver'.

3)Midwest vs. SoCal Series

Match Four

QUICKSILVER w/Scorpio Sky and The Human Tornado def. VITO THOMASELLI w/ Sal and Brandon Thomaselli to level the series at 2-2 going into next months elimination tag decider (10:33). Below average, and the worst match between the AXP and the Sal/Vito teams. Better however than Tornado vs. Brandon. Seemed bland and uninspired in places, but wasn't too bad overall. Quicksilver wins with the 'Silver Bullet', a few minutes after somehow kicking out of a 'Sicilian Driver'. After, the two teams have a face-off in advance of the series final next month.

4) THE RING CREW EXPRESS def. THE SOLUTION (11:00) in more below average action. Decent wrestling, but seemed formulaic and predictable. Nothing that hasn't been seen millions of times. Some solid action though. Dunn and Marcos win when Dunn hits his 'All Dunn' top rope move on Havoc whilst Marcos and Papadon fight on the arena floor.

5) JIMMY RAVE def. JOSH DANIELS (12:55). A decent match all-round, with some good parts, however, it continued the trend of decent to good matches that were quick, lacked any real point or purpose and failed to bring anything special or memorable to the show. Rave controls about two-thirds of the match, surviving a spirited fightback from Daniels to win cleanly with the 'Rave Clash'.

--- Sabian and The Human Tornado come down for their match. The match is about to begin, when Samoa Joe appears! Joe says he is pissed off, and still has a LOT of steam to let off, after the events with Christopher Daniels, and he's an angry guy in general! He also adds he hoped to let steam off tonight by beating the 'joke' of a Champion Alex Shelley, but he didn't win the four way last night, which angered him even more! In short, he's going to let off some steam and stop himself 'blowing-up', by kicking some ass right now. He suggests the match is made a triple threat. Tornado and Sabian seem too scared to say no, but Joe doesn't even give them chance too, attacking Sabian to start the match!

6) Triple Threat Match

SAMOE JOE def. SABIAN and THE HUMAN TORNADO (6:03). Poor-ish match, but a lot of that was down to its squash like nature. After Joe's initial attack on Sabian, both Sabian and Tornado ganged up on the Samoan to try and overpower him. Joe however fought them off, and got them groggy in seperare corners. Joe ran between the two several times giving them clotheslines. Sabian sank to the ground, sat against the buckle. Joe took the chance to give him a 'Face-wash'! However, as soon as he did that he turned and Tornado ran at him, but Joe countered by giving him a 'back-drop' over the rope to the floor! Tornado landed HARD, and Joe followed him to the arena floor. Joe sat Tornado on a chair by a guard-rail, and the crowd went crazy in anticipation. 'OLE-KICK!'. The crowd groaned in unison at the impact of the move, and Joe took a second to acknowledge the crowing 'Joe, Joe, Joe' chants. This had given Sabian time to recover some in the ring, and he flew to the outside with a plancha, that made Joe stagger back against the guard-rail. Seeing the Samoan teetering, Sabian helped Tornado to his feet, and they gave Joe a double drop-kick, sending him over the guard-rail and into the crowd. Sabian and Tornado re-entered the ring, and for the next few minutes had a largely poor match, with nothing at all happening of any worth as Joe recovered in the crowd, then waited for his moment to re-enter the ring. Joe eventually rolled back into the ring, unbeknown to Sabian and Tornado. Tornado inadvertantly whipped Sabian across the ring into Joe who gave him a BRUTAL STO. He almost put Sabian through the ring with that. Tornado saw Joe and ran, but Joe stepped aside, then pushed Tornado as he came past, allowing his momentum to send him flying over the top rope to the floor. Joe picked Sabian up and delivered the ever brutal 'Muscle Buster'! He then rolled back into his choke-hold. Sabian had no choice but to give-up – quickly. Joe wins via submission! The Joe dominated parts were good, but the Sabian/Tornado component was very basic and boring. The squash like nature didn't help the contest either, though it was above average for such a match.

7) MATT SYDAL def. 'Double C' CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI (16:29). Like last night, a good traditional style wrestling match with some fast paced, high flying innovation from Sydal coupled with good technical skills shown from Castagnoli. However, it was very much like last night – both matches were very good by themselves, but not all that much different. They didn't bring a lot new to this match as opposed to the previous nights encounter. It even followed a similar structure, with Sydal looking good for the win in the early going, and hitting some high spots, before Double C took control and used his technical wrestling expertise to wear him down, before the 'big comeback'. Some very good wrestling came to an end, when Castagnoli got Sydal's shoulders on the mat in a modified roll-up of sorts, but Sydal still kicked out! Castagnoli looked in a slight state of shock as both got to their feet, when suddenly Sydal lept up, wrapping his legs round Castagnoli's neck and executing a 'Hurricarana' pin attempt, 1-2-3! It was the sudden nature of the move that beat Castagnoli, as he instantly gets to his feet and goes for Sydal and the ref shouting in protest. Sydal rolls out of the ring, and is joined at the bottom of the entrance ramp by the referee who raises his arm in victory. Good match, very much so in places.

8) DANNY DANIELS def. MILANO COLLECTION AT (15:45). Good match. Very even, with both having periods of domination. Some very good technical wrestling, then the tempo got upped as they started working quicker and hit bigger moves toward the finish. The finish saw Milano go for the 'IR', but Daniels shoved him off. Milano came off the ropes, and looked for a clothesline, but Daniels ducked, and Milano hit the referee! The crowd booed as Daniels went up behind Milano, no doubt waiting to use these developments to his advantage. As he went to attack, Milano suddenly swung round, avoided Daniels' attempt to attack, and hit the 'IR'! Milano went for a cover, and the crowd counted along, 1-2-3-4-5 but there was no referee to count the fall. Milano gave up trying the cover, and went over to the downed ref to try and stir him. Daniels slowly got to his feet, and with Milano's back turned, he was able to hit a high angle back-drop. With the ref still showing no signs of life, Daniels went to the outside and grabbed a chair, much to the chagrin of the audience who booed his actions loudly. Daniels rolled back into the ring, and as Milano got up, Daniels swung for him with the chair, but Milano ducked! Milano swung for Daniels, but Daniels himself ducked and at the second time of trying cracked the chair over Milano's head! Milano fell to the ground, but wasn't quite knocked out from the shot, rolling slowly on the mat, holding his head. Daniels dropped the chair, picked the very groggy Milano up, and gave his near defenceless opponent a 'Tombstone' right onto the steel chair! Milano was out cold, and showing no signs of moving. Daniels threw the chair to the outside as the referee was coming round. Daniels made the cover for the easy three. The crowd showed their anger at Daniels' cheating ways, as he celebrated and then headed for the back. Milano still wasn't moving. Good match that really picked up toward the end.

9) APW Tag Team Championships

THE STRONG BROTHERS def. JAY LETHAL and CHARLIE HAAS to retain (21:16). A very good back and forth tag team match, which could have gone either way on many occasions. Some great wrestling with some high spots thrown in. It was a gruelling match, with everyone taking a finisher at some point, noteabley, Sedrick took a 'German Suplex' from Haas very early on, and Lethal had to use the ropes to survive a 'CX03' from Roderick Strong. As this very good match came to it's end, the referee predicatbly forgot who was the legal man as the pace of the match really shot up with high impact moves, last second saves and with all four men constantally going in and out of the ring. By the end, it was obvious that all four men were so worn down, one big move from either of them could end the match. Haas thought he had landed that move when he got Roderick with the 'German Suplex', but Sedrick Strong made the save as the ref's count was just about to go to three. Haas got right back up however, and ran and clotheslined Sedrick over the top rope, but momentum took him over too and both tumbled to the floor. Lethal, who was lying in a corner was coming to his senses at the time, and saw Roderick down in the middle of the ring. Spying his chance, he got up and crawled over. He picked Roderick up, and got ready to lock in for the 'Dragon Suplex', but Roderick countered with a go-behind, before hitting a savage 'Full Nelson Backbreaker', with what seemed to be all the energy he had! He went for a cover, 1-2-No! Lethal rolls a shoulder up off the canvas. Roderick took a second to compose himself, get his breath and try to find just a little more energy from somewhere, before grabbing Lethal by the head and picking him up. Strong gave Lethal his 'Pumphandle Backbreaker' move before getting them both right back up for a 'CX03', 1-2-3! The Strong's retain! Those last two moves took A LOT out of Roderick though, the last energy he really had left, and after the fall he lay there for a few seconds. Sedrick staggered back into the ring, and helped him to his feet as the referee handed them their belts. Struggling for breath, the brothers helped each other to the back, holding their belts up to the crowd at times in celebration. Very good tag team action.

10)]APW Championship

ALEX SHELLEY def. 'Classic' COLT CABANA to retain (21:51) in the MOTN. Cabana almost had the match many times early on with his un-orthodox pin attempts, and even with a Shelley fightback, and a short time in command of the match, Cabana was the most dominant of the two, Shelley only escaping defeat from a 'Colt 45' by putting a foot on the rope. Cabana resisted all attempts at a 'Border City Stretch', and it was becoming apparent that Shelley would have to do a lot to beat Cabana. In the end, it did take something big. Angry at some underhand tactics Shelley used, the match turned into an ugly brawl for a short time. The match spilled to the floor, and up to the top of the entrance way as the brawl continued. It was at the top of the entrance was, well away from any padding at ringside that Shelley gained the momentum with a thumb to the eye, then DDT'd Cabana onto the solid concrete floor! The crowd gasped in shock, before booing the actions of Shelley. Cabana was totally out, and Shelley struggled to get the dead-weight back to the ring, eventually having to give up to get back in the ring to break the referee's twenty-count. Shelley rolled back to the floor, then it seemed he had an idea, and smirking, went back into the ring. He was going to wait for Cabana to be counted out! It appeared this would be the case, but a very groggy Cabana rolled under the ring-ropes at nineteen to break the count. Shelley dragged Cabana to his feet, but Cabana shoved him off, then threw a very weak and wayward punch, that Shelley easily avoided, then hit the 'Shellshock' for the three. Shelley celebrates his win to a chorus of boos from the crowd. The boo's suddenly turn to cheers, as Jerry Lynn comes down to the ring. He climbs into the ring, and Shelley prepares for a fight, but nothing becomes of it. Lynn guestures towards the belt, and to Shelley, obviously saying that he is coming for both Shelley and the belt. He suddenly goes for Shelley, but the Champion is quick to react, diving out of the ring and to the safety of the locker-room as Lynn stands in the ring, watching Shelley's hasty retreat as the live show ends.

--- In interviews on the end of the home release, Charlie Haas and Jerry Lynn did very brief promo's. Haas said Strong proved nothing tonight, as he still hasn't pinned him, and it wasn't Haas that lost the match. Lynn just said that his issue with Alex Shelley is far from settled.

Thoughts: Not a great show. The first half is entirely passable, but the show does pick up in the second half. The tag title match could have been a lot better, and the upper card is more solid than blow-away good. A good main event is the highlight. Can't help but get the sense the promotion over-stretched themselves with two shows in two nights, seems a case of two average shows rather than one good/great one.
