The Hussman Cometh

March 19, 2005

Announcer: Brian Guppie

Color Commentator: Mike Patterson

Patterson: “Welcome fans to the Hussman Cometh! This should be an exciting show tonight. Jimmy Jacobs defends the SMWA Championship against Alex Shelley in our main event.”

Guppie: “We’ll also see Chance Beckett take on Vito Thomaselli as both men are looking to start getting some wins under their belts. Chris Divine will attempt to gain some revenge for his partner Quiet Storm as he takes on N8 Mattson.”

Patterson: “We also have Danny Daniels taking on Matt Sydal in a rematch from the Midwest Invitational semi-finals. We also have Josh Daniels making his return against GQ who’s making his debut. And in our first match two men make their debuts as Roderick Strong takes on Delirious.”

Guppie: “Roderick is known for having some stiff offense in the ring and while he’s small he can really churn out big impact moves. Delirious is a little crazy but when he starts wrestling he can go on the mat with anybody.”

Segment 1: Roderick Strong vs. Delirious

The two men circle each other warily as Delirious does some stupid stuff to show that he’s crazy. Strong takes the opportunity to grab Delirious and nail him with a snap suplex. Strong doesn’t seem to care for Delirious’ antics and just takes the action to him targeting the back. Strong hits Delirious with a hard backbreaker and stretches him across the knee but Delirious fights it and Strong eventually breaks the hold to save his knee. Delirious gets to his feet and takes Strong down with an armdrag and goes right into an armbar. Strong gets to the ropes and breaks the hold and Delirious continues to work on the left arm of Strong. Delirious bends Strong’s arm over the ropes and nails drop some elbows on the arm until the ref manages to pull him off. Delirious grabs the arm of Strong and drops him with a single arm DDT then goes right into a cross armbreaker but Strong holds his hands together then rolls Delirious onto his back and picks him up and drops him down hard on his back breaking the hold.

Both men get to their feet. Strong massaging his arm and Delirious grabbing his back. Delirious advances first and Strong ducks a punch and drops him with a belly to back suplex. Delirious gets to his feet and Strong grabs him and nails a bridging german suplex that gets him a two count. Delirious gets to his feet again and reverses a tilt-a-whirl from Strong into a spinning head scissors. Delirious tries to go for the arm but Strong keeps him away from it then nails him with a standing enziguri that staggers Delirious. Strong grabs Delirious and drops him with a Michinoku driver and hooks the leg for the three count.

Winner: Roderick Strong (12:34)

Notes: *1/4

OA: 48 CR: 17 MQ: 80

Patterson: “What a great match to start the show off with. Both of those men made a solid debut here but Strong really showed me what he’s got by coming back from the arm injury and going right after the back he had worked earlier in the match.”

Guppie: “Delirious is a little too weird for my tastes but that Roderick Strong has something going for him. I can’t wait to see more of him here.”

Patterson: “Delirious may be weird but he can go in the ring. In our next match Josh Daniels is returning to the SMWA and he’s taking on GQ who’s making his debut. GQ has wrestled a lot in CZW, mostly as a tag team with Chris Cash. GQ has some solid wrestling background and he isn’t just a garbage wrestler like you would think of someone from CZW.”

Guppie: “Daniels lost to John Walters two months ago hopefully he can turn his luck around here tonight.”

Segment 2: Josh Daniels vs. GQ

The two men lock up to start and Daniels goes behind GQ with a rear waistlock and slams GQ face first into the mat then spins over into control with a front chancery. GQ slowly gets to his feet and counters the hold with a release northern lights suplex that sends Daniels into the corner and crashing down on his neck. GQ takes advantage and targets the neck of Daniels keeping him down on the mat. Daniels slowly starts to make a comeback in the match but GQ stops it with a neckbreaker that leaves Daniels clutching his neck. GQ goes for a legdrop on the back of the neck but Daniels rolls out of the way and starts a quick series of attacks on GQ’s leg. Daniels grabs GQ and wraps him up with a figure four leglock and GQ fights the hold but is forced to tap out.

Winner: Josh Daniels (7:12)

Notes: 1/4*

OA: 45 CR: 25 MQ: 66

Patterson: “GQ controlled most of that match but a well timed comeback by Josh Daniels secured him the win.”

Guppie: “GQ showed a lot of skill in that match and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back here in the SMWA.”

Patterson: “Me either. Up next we have a rematch from the Midwest Invitational as Danny Daniels takes on Matt Sydal and this match is going to be intense.”

Guppie: “Danny Daniels is going to show Sydal who is the better man when he puts him on his back for the three count. Daniels lost to Sydal once and it damn sure isn’t going to happen again!”

Patterson: “Calm down there Brian. Whatever happens in this match it’s going to be a good one.”

Segment 3: Danny Daniels vs. Matt Sydal

The two men circle each other before Daniels strikes with a big forearm that staggers Sydal. Daniels presses but Sydal takes him down with a drop toe hold that sends him face first into the turnbuckles. Sydal continues to use his smaller size and better speed to avoid Daniels attacks and hit his own. Sydal can’t hit anything really big and Daniels catches him when he goes for a bulldog and hits him with a big backdrop driver. Sydal gets right to his feet staggering around and Daniels grabs him and hits him with a series of hard vertical suplexes. Daniels picks Sydal up and slams him down with a backbreaker. Then locks in a bow and arrow stretch on Sydal. Sydal fights out of the hold and flips over onto Daniels to get a two count. Sydal gets to his feet and ducks a clothesline from Daniels and nails him with a dropkick.

Sydal starts a rally taking Daniels down with a quick series of kicks to keep him down. Daniels manages to block a kick aimed for his head and pulls Sydal into a big clothesline. Daniels takes control of the match and goes back to working the back of Sydal. Sydal escapes Daniels offense and goes to the top rope but Daniels hits the ropes and racks him up on the top. Daniels climbs up and grabs Sydal and hits a superplex. Daniels gets right on Sydal then picks him up and drops him with a tombstone piledriver then covers Sydal for the three count.

Winner: Danny Daniels (10:32)

Notes: **

OA: 60 CR: 38 MQ: 82

Guppie: “Danny Daniels took it to Sydal in that match! He got some revenge for losing the match at the tournament.”

Patterson: “That he did and he got his revenge in a convincing fashion as he really beat Sydal around the ring. Sydal did manage to control the match early but once Daniels started in on his back he really lost all his momentum.”

Guppie: “It’s hard to concentrate when you are in a lot of pain Mike.”

Patterson: “That’s true. Our next match pits N8 Mattson against Chris Divine. Mattson beat Divine’s tag team partner, Quiet Storm, a couple of months ago and now Divine is looking to get some revenge.”

Guppie: “He’s looking in the wrong place. We all saw what Mattson did to Johnny Spade last month and I think Divine is in for some of that himself.”

Segment 4: N8 Mattson on the Mic

N8 Mattson comes out to the ring looking somber and angry. He rolls into the ring then swipes the mic from the announcer.

N8: “Last month Johnny Spade learned what it was like to step into the ring with the new N8 Mattson. My career really took off during the Midwest Invitational and I’ve been on a roll since then. I thought it was just because I was training harder but I was wrong. There was more to it than that. Before my match with Spade I found out what that something was. I was visited by the voice of God who told me that I was his hand on earth and through my skill I would show people what true power really is. I was instructed to gain the attention of everyone here and I did. I brutalized Johnny Spade and I made him bleed all over the ring. He was purified by fire.

“Tonight my opponent the misnamed Chris Divine will feel a different kind of force. He will face unrelenting power in the ring tonight. I am the one who has divine power not him. The hand of God will strike Divine down and I will continue to spread the word by my victories until I stand at the top of the heap and can look down at all the broken heathens who thought that they knew better than I and doubted that God really supported me. This isn’t fiction you assholes! This is real and you shall all be scorched by the power of God!”

OA: 48

Patterson: “N8 Mattson is showing a new dimension here. He almost seems to be going crazy.”

Guppie: “Almost!? He sounds like he jumped right into the deep end of the pool. I thought what he did to Spade was scary and now he sounds like he’s going to keep on doing that.”

Patterson: “I don’t think Chris Divine is going to let him walk all over him though.”

Guppie: “I don’t think Johnny Spade came into the match planning to get bloodied and beaten all over the ring either Mike! Divine better be on the defensive right when this match starts.”

Segment 5: Chris Divine vs. N8 Mattson

The two men square off and Mattson goes right at Mattson and gets him in a front chancery and takes him down with a DDT and holds the chancery on tight. Divine flails around in surprise but drops down and puts his foot on the ropes to break the hold. Divine gets to his feet and Mattson goes right after him with a series of forearms and follows it up with a neckbreaker. Mattson continues to work on the neck of Divine with a series of submission holds and some big impact moves. Mattson pulls Divine up to his feet and kicks him in the gut and drops him with a piledriver. Mattson gets Divine on his stomach and then locks in an STF and the ref calls for the bell as Divine is out of it. Mattson rolls to the outside of the ring and grabs a chair from the fans and slides back in. Mattson nails the ref across the back as he checks on Divine then sets the chair in the ring. Mattson pulls Divine to his feet and drops him on the chair with another piledriver.

Winner: N8 Mattson (7:48)

Notes: *1/2

OA: 59 CR: 43 MQ: 76

Patterson: “I think Chris Divine is in serious trouble after that. He might need medical attention!”

Guppie: “There is no doubt in my mind that N8 Mattson has gone off the deep end here. He just destroyed Divine in that match and intentionally tried to hurt him.”

Patterson: “That was uncalled for. Divine did manage to walk to the back with the help of the refs but still he’s not in good shape. I don’t know we can continue but we must. Vito Thomaselli looks to prove himself as he steps in the ring with Chance Beckett.”

Guppie: “I can’t get over what N8 Mattson did to Divine. These two should put on a clean match though and hopefully it will make everything seem better.”

Segment 6: Chance Beckett vs. Vito Thomaselli

Vito and Chance lock up and Chance takes early control of the match as he takes Vito down to the mat. Vito is in trouble in the mat but he is competent enough to avoid any serious submissions that Chance attempts to go for. Vito eventually manages to make his way to the ropes and Chance has to let him up. The two men get to their feet and Chance charges to take Vito down but Vito nails him with a big knee to the face. Vito hits Chance with a quick series of armdrags and the like gaining an advantage that keeps Chance reeling. Vito makes a big move and nails Chance with a tornado DDT that gets him a two count. Chance rolls to the outside of the ring but Vito doesn’t have any of it and hits Chance with a suicide dive. Vito throws Chance back into the ring but Chance recovers as Vito rolls in and nails him with a series of stomps.

Chance pulls Vito to his feet and drops him with a DDT and holds on with a front chancery. Chance clings onto the hold with desperation as Vito picks him up and moves forward as he slams Chance down onto the mat. Vito picks him up and slams him down again and manages to grab the ropes this time. Chance tries to go back to the neck but Vito manages to avoid his offense for the most part and hit his own. Chance manages to stagger Vito with a big forearm and Chance goes for a suplex of some kind but Vito blocks it then rolls Chance up and gets a quick three count.

Winner: Vito Thomaselli (13:51)

Notes: **

OA: 67 CR: 56 MQ: 79

Patterson: “We saw Chance Beckett fall victim to a quick rollup against Halo a couple of months ago and we saw it here again.”

Guppie: “Vito just got a very big win. Chance Beckett is not going to be happy with himself or with Vito.”

Segment 7: Beckett Challenge

Chance gets to his feet in the ring and takes the mic from the announcer.

Chance: “Fuck! I had a nice run early on in this promotion. I had some big wins. Sure, I had a few disappointing losses but not that many. Now in my last four matches I’ve lost all four of them. I lost the fourway match for the SMWA Championship. Then I lost two number one contender matches in a row. First to Halo and then to Alex Shelley. And now I lost to Vito Thomaselli! This guy hasn’t beaten anybody of importance here until now. I don’t know how you managed to beat me Vito but rest assured it won’t happen again. Luckily for you I’m busy next month but you know what the show after that I’m not doing anything and I want a match with you. And I don’t want just any match I want a no-holds barred match. Everything is fair and I will come out on top. I don’t lose to anybody twice in a row. Not you and next month I won’t lose to Alex Shelley again. Mark my words. This is only the beginning!”

OA: 77

Patterson: “Chance Beckett is getting frustrated with losing. He does have the skills to be one of the top wrestlers in the SMWA but recently he’s run into some bad luck.”

Guppie: “Bad doesn’t begin to describe it. It’s main event time now though. Alex Shelley challenges Jimmy Jacobs for the SMWA Championship.”

Patterson: “This should be a great match. These two men know each other so well and they are both great competitors. Jimmy Jacobs has some great high impact moves and he can taking a massive beating before he’ll go down. Alex Shelley is probably one of the best technical wrestlers on the independent wrestling scene right now. This is going to be spectacular.”

Segment 8: Jimmy Jacobs © vs. Alex Shelley (SMWA Championship)

The two men start off with a test of strength and Shelley takes Jacobs down. Jacobs bridges to avoid the pin and Shelley jumps up and brings his knees down on Jacobs’ thighs but Jacobs holds the bridge. Shelley manages to break the bridge and only gets a two count. Jacobs bridges again and Shelley jumps up to break it but Jacobs rolls him over with a monkey flip and holds the test of strength. Jacobs rolls to the side and takes the advantage in the test of strength then breaks it and hits Shelley with a hurrincanranna and the crowd applauds for the sequence as both men get to their feet. The two lockup this time and Shelley takes Jacobs to the ground but Jacobs spins out and gets Shelley in a rear waistlock and goes into a rear chinlock. Shelley makes his way to his feet then drops down with a jaw breaker on Jacobs.

The two men get to their feet and start trading some strikes and Shelley ducks a punch from Jacobs then takes him down with a neckbreaker and goes to work on Jacobs’ neck. Shelley slows down the pace of the match to work Jacobs over. Shelley takes Jacobs over with a snapmare then delivers a sharp kick to the base of his spine then grabs him with a rear chinlock. Jacobs fights his way to his feet then nails Shelley with a couple of back elbows then bounces off the ropes and takes Shelley down with a shoulder tackle. Jacobs bounces off the adjacent ropes and jumps over Shelley. Shelley gets to his feet and leaps over Jacobs as he runs back. Jacobs comes back with a crossbody block but Shelley blocks it with a dropkick. Jacobs grabs his stomach in pain and Shelley picks him up and puts him in an abdominal stretch. Jacobs breaks Shelley’s hold with some elbows to Shelley’s thigh then flips him over. Jacobs backs into the ropes for a break. Shelley charges at him with a clothesline but Jacobs sends him over the top and to the floor with a backbody drop. Shelley gets to his feet on the outside and Jacobs nails him with a slingshot crossbody block.

Jacobs grabs his wrist and starts hussing on the outside and gets the crowd going. Jacobs picks Shelley up and whips him into the guardrail then charges and slams into him with a big knee to the face. Jacobs pulls Shelley to his feet and starts beating him around the ring on the outside and hits him with a vertical suplex on the gym floor. Shelley grabs his back as Jacobs rolls him into the ring. Jacobs climbs onto the apron then slingshots in with a senton across Shelley’s back. Jacobs takes advantage by grabbing Shelley with a mexican surfboard and Shelley fights against it and gets down on his knees but Jacobs grabs the back of his head and keeps the knees hooked as he grabs Shelley with a dragon sleeper. Shelley flails about with his arms at first then regains his composure and drops some forearms across Jacobs’ face to break up the hold. Shelley gets out of the hold and crawls to the ropes to make his way to his feet. Jacobs goes after Shelley and goes for a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker but Shelley counters it with an armdrag. Jacobs gets to his feet and Shelley meets him with a kick to the stomach and follows it up with a gut buster. Shelley goes for the cover and gets a two count.

Shelley pulls Jacobs to his feet and whips him into the corner and charges with a shoulder to the gut of Jacobs then follows up with a series of shoulders to the midsection. Shelley picks Jacobs up and sets him on the top rope. Shelley climbs up and nails Jacobs with a series of knife edge chops. Shelley gets Shelley up on his shoulders in a fireman’s carry and slowly turns himself around on the ropes. Shelley jumps off the ropes and lifts Jacobs over his head and drops him down across his knee with a big gut buster. Shelley pulls Jacobs to his feet in the middle of the ring and locks in a octopus hold variation of the abdominal stretch. Jacobs looks to fight out of it but Shelley really cranks down on the hold and Jacobs taps out.

Winner: Alex Shelley (23:22)

Notes: **1/2

OA: 67 CR: 51 MQ: 84

Patterson: “What am impressive match between those two and what a display of ability by Alex Shelley.”

Guppie: “Shelley started out working the neck but when his dropkick hit Jacobs in the midsection he saw an opportunity and he took it big time and it paid out for him in the end as he got the submission with that abdominal stretch variation.”

Patterson: “We have a new SMWA Champion in Alex Shelley! This has been a spectacular show and we hope you will all be at our next show as we will be celebrating our one year anniversary. Be sure to check out smwawrestling.com for information on the show.”

The Anniversary Show

www.smwawrestling.com

March 25, 2005

It’s hard to believe but in April we will be celebrating our one year anniversary as a wrestling federation. The shows have gotten bigger and so have the crowds but the feeling will never change. Already big matches have been signed for the show as this will be our biggest show to date. Alex Shelley makes his first title defense against Chance Beckett and it will be a two out of three falls match that should test both men. N8 Mattson will face Vito Thomaselli and Teddy Hart has been signed to be on the show although his opponent hasn’t been named yet.

We are hoping to kick off our second year as a promotion with a great show and the fans will receive the benefits of our great product.

Michigan Indy Wrestling: 2004 in Review

www.michindywrestling.com

March 26, 2005

Slurms McKenzie

2004 had its ups and downs here in the Michigan Independent Wrestling scene. Mid-Michigan Wrestling Alliance had to close its doors. They provided a good mix of old school wrestling with the fast paced style of today. They ended their run on a high note though. Their last show featured three great main event caliber matches. AJ Styles vs. Petey Williams was MotN without a doubt and a strong MotYC. Matt Maverick and Joey Legend held a nice brawl that had the crowd going crazy. Jimmy Jacobs and Raven had a hardcore brawl that went through the small crowd and had the crowd chanting huss for Jacobs. The card also featured an underrated match between N8 Mattson and Bobby Bambino.

To counter the loss of the MMWA we saw the opening of the Southern Michigan Wrestling Alliance. Despite the similarity in names the action was completely different. The SMWA embraced the new style of wrestling and provided action very similar to that of the Independent Wrestling Revolution although instead of bringing in special guests from the East Coast the SMWA brought in talent from the West Coast including B-Boy and developing star Vito Thomaselli. They started off with a feud between Danny Dominion and Jack Evans for the Championship that resulted in some underwhelming matches. Chris Sabin, Chance Beckett, Alex Shelley and Jimmy Jacobs brought tons of great matches to the shows plus the addition of occasional special appearances keep the show going good. The feud between Alex Shelley and Chance Beckett has delivered already and it is getting hotter before it ends. The SMWA has a good local fanbase and has an increasing tape buying base due to the fact that they produce their shows quickly and also use DVD. If they keep doing what they are doing they should continue to grow and make money.

Border City Wrestling continues to be the biggest federation in Michigan. They have really risen in popularity this past year. Mainly because they are using the talent from NWA:TNA. D-Lo Brown and Shane Douglas have been stuck in a bitter battle for the BCW Championship. Douglas has managed to use every trick in the book to stop Brown from taking the belt from him. The feud should be coming to a close soon and it has really propelled the federation into the spotlight. The two men are scheduled to meet in a cage match. The undercard has stayed strong there with the trainees from the Can-Am wrestling school showing up with their trainer Joe E. Legend and keeping the action going strong throughout the night.

The Independent Wrestling Revolution has continued to do its thing. The wrestling has been solid and they haven’t really had too many bad shows this year. They keep on going along and that’s what you can say about the entire Michigan Indy scene.

Now for the part everybody wants the top of the year lists.

Best Wrestler of the year

1. Shane Douglas - The leader of the BCW roster. Great on the mic and always entertains the crowd in the ring.

2. Chance Beckett - A great wrestler who finally has a real home in the SMWA and he’s really become a huge star and it’s only a matter of time before some big federation signs him up.

3. Chris Sabin - Detroit’s golden son. He’s been big in TNA this year and has continued to put on good shows here in Michigan.

4. Alex Shelley - Probably the best technical wrestler to come out of Michigan. Shelley has a little over two years in the business and he’s already better than many veterans.

5. Jimmy Jacobs - The barbarian berserker has continued to get his name out there and impress many people on the indy scene.

Michigan Match of the Year

1. AJ Styles vs. Petey Williams (MMWA) - A great juniors match between these two and a fitting end to the MMWA’s life.

2. Chance Beckett vs. Alex Shelley (SMWA) - A close second place this match really showcased both men’s styles.

3. Shane Douglas vs. D-Lo Brown (BCW) - A bloody brawl between these two men with Douglas getting the win with some interference from his TNA buddy Michael Shane. The interference didn’t hurt this match that badly.

4. Jimmy Jacobs vs. Jimmy Yang vs. Chris Sabin (SMWA) - This is one of the best triple threat matches I’ve had the pleasure of seeing. These guys kept the action going well and really stole the show.

5. N8 Mattson vs. Jimmy Jacobs vs. Chris Sabin vs. Truth Martini (IWR) - These four put on a tremendous showing as they battled for the IWR King of the Indies Title.

Michigan Indy Show of the year

1. MMWA Karnage in Kalkaska - The final show for the SMWA and like I said earlier it was a tremendous show that had something for everybody.

2. SMWA Motorcity Madness - Their debut in the Detroit area and they blew the roof off the building and gained a lot of new fans.

3. BCW Blood Water - The show that showcased the number 3 match of the year. The main event really propelled this show up and a solid undercard really helped as well.

That’s all for this time.

Alex Shelley © vs. Chance Beckett (2/3 Falls, SMWA Championship)

This is the third match between the two men and the stakes could not be higher. Both men have won a match against the other that got them a shot at the SMWA Championship however Shelley was the won who capitalized. Tonight the man who wins, wins the series between the two men and they win the SMWA Championship. This is not a normal match though this is a 2/3 falls. One fall does not win the match. No lucky fall will decide this match. This is one where skill is the only determination of the winner.

Jimmy Jacobs vs. Teddy Hart

Former SMWA Champion, Jacobs, takes on the controversial Teddy Hart in what should be an electric match.

N8 Mattson vs. Vito Thomaselli

Thomaselli comes off a win against Chance Beckett and N8 Mattson is on a six match winning streak. Not to mention showing off a new mean streak.

Chris Divine vs. GQ

Danny Daniels vs. Roderick Strong

Nate Webb vs. Chris Cash

The Award Presentation

Best Mic Work

Winner: Chance Beckett

His ability to get his feelings out in character cement him as one of the top stars in the SMWA. Even when his record doesn’t support that position.

Best Show

Winner: Motorcity Madness (September)

Featuring an impressive three way dance between Sabin/Jacobs/Yang and Jack Evans defending the SMWA Championship against Chance Beckett this had two of the best matches in SMWA History. The show also featured a build in the Coalition’s fight against Special K.

Best Wrestler

Winner: Chance Beckett

Consistently great effort from Beckett is a key point in his SMWA career. Not always the winner but always looking good Beckett earns his spot on the card. Having several best match nominees Beckett always brings his A-game and his continuous presence make him a true star.

Best Champion

Winner: Jimmy Jacobs

Jacobs had three amazing title defenses before he lost the belt and he won the championship in a great fourway. So far the only champion to be consistently great while champion. His reign took the belt to new heights of importance.

Best Match

Winner: Chance Beckett vs. Alex Shelley (Clash of the Titans)

A narrow victory for this match shows how close the competition was. These two went hold for hold and took each other to the limits for the second time. The two men once again clash tonight in a 2/3 falls match. We asked both men for their comments on winning this category and the match.

Shelley: One of my favorite matches of all time. Comparing this one to our first contest you can see how much both of us have improved and the change in our offense. This one is also better because I was the one who came out victorious.

Beckett: While this was a good match it suffers from the fact that I didn’t win. Being recognized in four out of the five categories is good. I may not be the best champion yet but everybody knows that it is coming.

The One Year Anniversary Show

April 17, 2005

Announcer: Brian Guppie

Color Commentator: Mike Patterson

Patterson: “Welcome to is set to be our largest show to date! We are celebrating our one year anniversary as a wrestling promotion and we are doing it in style. We have a main event fit to top off the night as Alex Shelley takes on Chance Beckett in a two out of three falls match for the SMWA Championship.”

Guppie: “Former champion Jimmy Jacobs will be taking on the most controversial man in independent wrestling right now, Teddy Hart. We also have N8 Mattson taking on Vito Thomaselli.”

Patterson: “Danny Daniels will be taking on Roderick Strong as well tonight. We also have Nate Webb facing Chris Cash. Chris Divine was scheduled to face GQ but he pulled out of the show but luckily Petey Williams has been singed to replace him in the match.”

Guppie: “We don’t know why he pulled out of the show but N8 Mattson told me it was because he feared the wrath of God’s hand and is still nursing his neck from their match last month.”

Patterson: “Whatever the reason Divine isn’t here tonight. We are ready to kick the show off though as Nate Webb is set to take on Chris Cash. Nate Webb is really looking to get some wins here and he may be able to get a win over the tag team specialist, Chris Cash.”

Segment 1: Nate Webb vs. Chris Cash

The two men start the match early as Cash jumps Webb on the outside of the ring and the two men brawl around the ring before Webb slams Cash headfirst into the ring post then rolls him into the ring. Webb takes the advantage in the ring and keeps Cash pinned down to the mat with some big impact moves. Webb goes for a vertical suplex but Cash reverses it and lands behind Webb then hits him with a backdrop driver. Cash takes control of the match for a short time but Webb gains the momentum when he counters a powerbomb from Cash into a DDT. Webb climbs to the top rope but GQ comes out from the crowd and trips Webb racking him up. Cash recovers and climbs up the top rope and hits Webb with a superplex and floats over for a three count. GQ enters the ring and starts to beat on Webb but Petey Williams runs out from the back and clears GQ and Cash out of the ring.

Williams: “GQ, I was supposed to face you one on one later tonight but I’ve got a change in plans. How about you and your butt buddy there take on Nate Webb and I in a tag team match?”

GQ: “Fine with me. I’ll beat your ass no matter what kind of match it is.”

Winner: Chris Cash (7:33)

Notes: 1/2*

OA: 50 CR: 34 MQ: 66

Patterson: “Chris Cash steals the win with the help of his tag team partner GQ but they could be in for some payback when they face Petey Williams and Nate Webb in a tag team match later tonight.”

Guppie: “He picked up the win no matter how he did it though. Our next match features my hero, Danny Daniels, taking on Roderick Strong.”

Patterson: “Roderick is a man who knows how to pack a punch. His offense is considered one of the strongest on the indy scene and he knows how to make a move hurt.”

Guppie: “But he’s in the ring with Danny Daniels who knows how to wrestle like no one else.”

Segment 2: Danny Daniels vs. Roderick Strong

The two men circle each other then go into a collar and elbow tie up. Strong takes control with a hammerlock but Daniels turns it into his own hammerlock fairly quickly. Strong counters it with a snapmare then drills Daniels in the back with a sharp kick. Strong takes control of the match and works the back of Daniels as he is known to do. Guppie: “Danny Daniels gets another magnificent victory here in the SMWA.”

Patterson: “He earned that match against Roderick Strong. Those two men both put it all on the line and gave it their best and Daniels came out on top that time.”

Guppie: “That time and every time Mike. It’s time for the tag team match already. Webb and Cash have had a little time to rest but they should be good to go for the match.”

Patterson: “This match was made earlier tonight when GQ interfered for Cash to beat Webb and then Williams came in to make the save. This is going to be a heated match between these two teams.”

Segment 3: Petey Williams & Nate Webb vs. The New School (GQ & Chris Cash)

The match starts as all four men are in the ring and brawling. The New School gains the upperhand early as brawling is what they do best with their CZW background. Webb fights back with his own strikes. Williams turns his fight against GQ around as he trips GQ then locks in a fujiwara armbar but GQ gets to the ropes and breaks up the hold. Webb sends Cash to the outside of the ring with a clothesline and lets the ref escort him to his corner. Webb comes in and beats down on both members of the New School. Webb hits Cash with a tornado DDT then takes himself and GQ out of the ring with a big clothesline. Patterson: “Nate Webb gets a little bit of revenge on the New School here tonight in an impressive showing in this tag team match.”

Guppie: “Webb took almost no punishment in that match at all and when he came in he just cleared the ring. The New School did a good job of working Williams over but there are two men on a team and that’s what they forgot.”

Patterson: “Indeed. In our next match Vito Thomaselli takes on N8 Mattson. Mattson has been displaying a new vicious attitude. He destroyed Johnny Spade and made him bleed all over the ring and at the last show he destroyed Chris Divine’s neck. However Vito is coming off a big win against Chance Beckett last month which is an impressive not on Vito’s record.”

Guppie: “But Mattson has been on a roll for a long time. Ever since he won the Midwest Invitation he’s been undefeated. Vito’s going to have a tough time of being the first man to stop his streak.”

Segment 4: Vito

Vito Thomaselli comes down to the ring to a good amount of cheering from the crowd. Vito slides into the ring and takes the mic from the announcer.

Vito: “Last month I defied all expectations when I beat Chance Beckett in that ring. Tonight I’m going to defy the odds again. N8 Mattson has been undefeated since he won the Midwest Invitational Tournament but that doesn’t scare me. I’m not impressed by that record because he hasn’t fought me. He hasn’t fought any of the big name talent here in the SMWA. He’s fought a lot of the up and comers and beaten them. That’s good for him. He’s better than the new guys. Which I guess would put him at my level. When he beats me then I’ll be impressed. Everybody expects me to lose but I do not. I always expect victory. I don’t doubt this will be a tough fight but somebody has to end N8's streak and it might as well be me.”

OA: 51

Segment 5: N8 Mattson vs. Vito Thomaselli

The two men square off and they start the match by letting fists fly as they just pummel each other and Vito backs Mattson up then takes him down with an armdrag and goes into an armbar. Mattson rolls out of the hold and delivers a kick to the side of Vito’s head. The two men get to their feet and face off again. They lock up this time and Mattson goes behind with a hammerlock. Vito jumps up then comes down with a snapmare but Mattson holds onto the arm and Vito flips over still in the hammerlock. Mattson grabs Vito by the face and slams him down to the mat. Mattson picks Vito up and traps his arm behind his back as he powerslams him to the mat. Mattson continues to control the match working on the arm of Vito. Mattson continues to trap the arm on some big impact moves trying to really jolt the arm. Vito works Mattson over with big impact moves just trying to wear Mattson down to pin him. Vito picks Mattson up and drops him with a brainbuster and gets a two count. Vito pulls Mattson to his feet and whips him into the corner and lights him up with some chops. Mattson shakes them off then spins Vito around and puts him in the corner. Vito nails Mattson with some forearms then grabs him and goes for a tornado DDT but Mattson holds him up then sets him back on the turnbuckle. Mattson turns around and takes Vito off the top with an iconoclasm. Mattson goes for the cover and gets a two count. Vito struggles to his feet and Mattson hits him with an armbar takedown then goes right into a fujiwara armbar. Vito fights out of the hold but Mattson holds onto the arm then spins Vito around and gets him with a cross armbreaker. Mattson extends the arm and Vito is quick to tap out.

Winner: N8 Mattson (13:18)

OA: 62 CR: 42 MQ: 82

Patterson: “What a contest between those two men. Vito came out confident but Mattson came out ready and he took the arm of Vito and just destroyed it.”

Guppie: “That’s what makes Mattson so dangerous in the ring. He focuses on one thing and then he just works it the entire match. He can change what body part that is but he always stays on it.”

Patterson: “That’s what makes a great wrestler. Up next former SMWA Champion, Jimmy Jacobs, takes on the most controversial man in independent wrestling, Teddy Hart.”

Guppie: “This is going to be a high flying battle. I can’t wait to see what these two men do in the ring.”

Segment 6: Teddy Hart vs. Jimmy Jacobs

Defying Guppie’s prediction the two men start the match out with a chain wrestling sequence that sees both men exchanging holds and flowing through them competently. The action starts to get going though as Hart counters a side headlock with a backbody drop but Jacobs flips and lands on his feet. Jacobs takes Hart over with a japanese armdrag as he turns around and then the two men go through an exchange of armdrags. The two men then go through a pinning sequence but can’t get the fall. They both roll up to their feet and face off to applause from the crowd. Hart gets on the ropes and gets the crowd going and a Hart chant starts. Hart gets to his feet first but Jacobs manages to avoid his punches and take him down with a neckbreaker and keep the advantage. Jacobs starts working Hart over but Hart won’t stay down for the three count. The two men start to go back and forth trading big moves. Hart hits Jacobs with a tornado reverse DDT then goes to the top for a shooting star press but Jacobs rolls out of the way. Jacobs grabs Hart as he gets to his feet and runs up the ropes and hits the contra code for a long two count. Jacobs pulls Hart to his feet and whips him into the ropes and goes for the big furry boot but Hart ducks it. Jacobs turns around and Hart drops him with a DDT then flips Jacobs over and locks in a sharpshooter to the delight of the crowd. Jacobs fights the hold and slowly manages to crawl to the ropes and break the hold. Hart gets up and waits for Jacobs to get up confidently. Jacobs defies his expectations and pops up with a dropkick that takes Hart down. Hart gets to his feet and Jacobs nails him with the big furry boot to get the three count.

Winner: Jimmy Jacobs (15:57)

Notes: *3/4

OA: 60 CR: 43 MQ: 78

Patterson: “Teddy Hart put in a great effort there but Jimmy Jacobs was just too much for him in that match.”

Guppie: “Those two men kept the match on the mat despite what I expected from the two of them and they made a nice showing of it.”

Patterson: “If you folks thought those last two matches were great prepare to be blown away because it’s time for the main event. Alex Shelley makes his first title defense against Chance Beckett in a two out of three falls match.”

Guppie: “Shelley is starting his reign off with a very difficult match here. This could prove to be the toughest defense of his reign and if he can get through this match he’s going to have gone through the worst competition right at the start.”

Patterson: “This is the third match between these two men. Chance Beckett won the first match and Shelley beat Beckett in a match that got him the title shot where he won the title. This time the title is on the line and the winner of this match is going to be the winner of their best of three and the SMWA Championship.”

Segment 7: Another Chance

Chance Beckett walks out to the ring slowly and climbs through the ropes. He takes the mic from the announcer and starts talking.

Beckett: “Tonight I have an opportunity, once again, to get the SMWA Championship around my waist. Tonight I have an opportunity that I can not waist! Alex Shelley you are a tough competitor there is no doubt about that. Tonight though I have a losing streak I need to break and I plan on breaking it tonight. I’m not going to be a loser anymore. I’m not going to be a joke to all of these fans! The SMWA Championship will be mine someday and today is that day. I’ve been held back from the championship for too long. I can’t stand the fact that people consider you a better wrestler than me. I know it isn’t true and I am going to prove it tonight. Tonight you can’t beat me with one lucky fall. Tonight is all about the man who has the skills and I am that man. This is two out of three falls and I am going to win the first two falls and put you out of your misery. This is going to be your first and last title defense!”

OA: 75

Segment 8: Alex Shelley © vs. Chance Beckett (2/3 Falls, SMWA Championship)

The two men circle each other slowly before locking up. Shelley takes the advantage with a hammerlock but Beckett quickly reverses it into his own hammerlock. Shelley jumps up and snapmares Beckett over and quickly grabs him with a rear chinlock. The two men go slowly at the start trying to wear each other down with submission holds and looking to find a weakness on their opponent to exploit. Shelley makes the first big move as Beckett goes for a suplex but Shelley counters it while he’s in the air and swings himself down with a huge DDT that gets him a two count on Beckett. Shelley starts to hit some impact moves to keep Beckett down but Beckett keeps fighting back and won’t stay down. Shelley fights to his feet using the ropes. Beckett gets to his feet and hits Shelley with a chop block to the back of the knees then starts working over the leg of Shelley and keeps Shelley down on the mat and in pain. Shelley manages to stay near the ropes so that Beckett can’t trap him in a hold. Beckett starts to get pissed off at Shelley and starts nailing him with forearms and chops in the corner. Beckett sets Shelley up on the top rope but Shelley nails him with some punches to the head then grabs him and nails him with a tornado DDT and both men are down. Beckett gets to his feet and Shelley is trying to get up without putting weight on his right leg. Beckett pulls Shelley to his feet and Shelley grabs him and nails the shell shock. Shelley crawls over and covers Beckett to get a three count and the first fall. (16:43)

After the 30 second rest Beckett comes at Shelley with a vengeance. Shelley tries to catch him with some quick pinfalls but he can’t get a three count with them. Beckett slows down the pace and regains his composure. Shelley holds onto the ropes keeping the weight of his right leg. The Anniversary Show

www.smwawrestling.com

April 19, 2005

The Anniversary show proved to be one of our best shows yet with some amazing action in the undercard and the epic battle between Alex Shelley and Chance Beckett that lasted over 45 minutes. Alex Shelley has held onto the SMWA Championship through a tough first title defense.

We are creating Tag Team Titles for the Southern Michigan Wrestling Alliance and the tournament for the titles starts at the next show. Eight teams have been entered into the tournament. Four of the teams compete next month in one half of the tournament. The other four teams compete the show after that and then the two teams that won their half of the tournament will meet to crown our first SMWA Tag Team Champions. Here is a list of the teams that have been entered.

Petey Williams & Nate Webb

N8 Mattson & Jimmy Jacobs

The Rachies (Danny Rose & Adam Flash)

Roderick Strong & Sedrick Strong

Johnny Spade & Halo

Match of the Year?

www.michindywrestling.com

April 21, 2005

Morbo

Four nights ago the Southern Michigan Wrestling Alliance hosted one of the best matches I’ve ever seen live and a possible match of the year candidate. Chance Beckett took Alex Shelley to the limits in a 2/3 falls match before Shelley made him tap out to an STF to get the third and final fall.

Those two men capped off a great show which capped off the anniversary show for the SMWA which started with a whimper and ended with a gigantic finally. The beginning had me a little leary about the show but when Danny Daniels and Roderick Strong delivered a good technical match I was back in the game. The rest of the card kept me interested and then the main event blew me and everybody else in the crowd away as both men got a long standing ovation and after both men had left a chant of SMWA swept through the crowd. Not only was that match a possible match of the year it was also a possible best show of the year too. The SMWA have come along way and have developed a nice group of undercard wrestlers to match their high quality main events.

If the SMWA can keep up their great in ring action and add some more story elements they can be looking forward to a long and healthy life. The news of the development of a Tag Team Championship could be a good sign for them. They have a lot of talented tag teams on the roster and actually using them should be good.

Double Impact Card

www.smwawrestling.com

May 2, 2005

Double Impact is being held on May 19 at the Detroit Masonic Lodge. Here are the matches signed for the show.

Alex Shelley © vs. Jimmy Jacobs (SMWA Championship)

The belt is on the line as Jimmy Jacobs gets a chance to reclaim the SMWA Championship.

Vito Thomaselli vs. Chance Beckett (No Holds Barred)

Chance Beckett looks for some revenge in this match. Vito Thomaselli scored a victory over Beckett at the Hussman Cometh and Beckett is looking to end his losing streak in this match with a big win. Thomaselli wants to prove that he really is better than Chance Beckett.

Danny Daniels vs. Sedrick Strong

Danny beat Sedrick’s brother Roderick last month and Sedrick looks to get some revenge for the family. Sedrick will be facing two matches on this show and possibly three matches if the Strongs win their first match against Special K so he has his work cut out for him.

Strong Brothers vs. Special K (Tournament Match #1)

Williams Webb vs. The Rachies (Tournament Match #2)

Winner of match #1 vs. Winner of match #2

These four teams will be looking to make themselves the first team entered into the finals for the SMWA Tag Team Championships and a chance to cement themselves as a great tag team.

Show should be up Saturday. Probably later Saturday because I have to go to my cousin's graduation party that day. But I'll get it up sometime Saturday.

Double Impact

May 19, 2005

Announcer: Brian Guppie

Color Commentator: Mike Patterson

Patterson: “Welcome to Double Impact! I’m Mike Patterson and my partner is Brian Guppie. We’re here in Detroit once again and we are starting our tournament to crown Tag Team Champions. We also have a big main event as Jimmy Jacobs gets a chance to win the SMWA Championship back from Alex Shelley. We also have Vito Thomaselli taking on Chance Beckett in a no holds barred match.”

Guppie: “We also have Danny Daniels taking on Sedrick Strong. Our first round matches are the Strong Brothers versus the special K team of Deranged and Angeldust. The other match pits the team of Nate Webb and Petey Williams against Adam Flash and Danny Rose.”

Patterson: “Tonight is set to be a hot show. Our first match is Special K against the Strong Brothers. Both Strongs have a high impact offense and we’ll see how well that matches up to the fast paced, high flying offense of Special K.”

Segment 1: Italian Thoroughbred

Vito Thomaselli walks out to the ring to start off the show and the crowd cheers.

Vito: “People have been asking me if I want to risk losing to Chance Beckett after I already have beaten him. Some people seem to think that one win against Beckett is good enough. But it’s not. I don’t want to get one win and wave it around like some sort of badge of honor. I want to beat Chance and I want everybody to know that I am better than him. Even though I pinned him cleanly in the ring people still don’t think I can beat him again. I don’t know what their problem is but tonight I’m going to prove that I didn’t get a fluke victory over Chance I’m going to beat him again tonight and everybody will know that I’m not a hack. I’m going to take Beckett down and pin him once again and nobody will doubt that I am the better man.”

OA: 44

Patterson: “That’s going to be an intense match when Vito Thomaselli and Chance Beckett hook up later tonight.”

Guppie: “It sure will be. Right now Special K has to face the Strong Brothers.”

Patterson: “Special K was dominant early on in the history of the SMWA but they haven’t been around for the past couple of months. We’ll see if they still have that winning edge. The Strongs have been solid lately. They don’t have any big wins but they’ve gone up against some of the best wrestlers here and they’ve looked good while doing it.”

Segment 2: Strong Brothers vs. Special K (Deranged & Angeldust)

Roderick and Angeldust start the match and Roderick takes advantage with a clothesline that folds Angeldust in half and he looks stunned already. Roderick pulls dust to his feet and whips him into the ropes then catches him with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Roderick and Sedrick control the early parts of the match and they just beat Angeldust around showing off some big impact moves as they work the back of Angeldust over. Angeldust goes for the tag but Sedrick pulls him away by the ankles and the crowd cheers. Sedrick picks Angeldust up and drops him on his head with a big german suplex. Sedrick follows it up and gets Angeldust in a camel clutch but Deranged makes his presence felt and nails Sedrick in the back of the head with a kick to break up the hold. Roderick tries to come in but the ref holds him back. Deranged pulls Angeldust over to his corner then tags himself in.

Deranged comes into the ring and hits Sedrick with a forearm to the back of the head stopping him from making the tag. Deranged pulls Sedrick to his feet and hits him with a swinging neck breaker then knocks Roderick off the apron with a dropkick. Roderick gets up and tries to get in again but the ref holds him back and the Special K team double teams Sedrick and stomp away on him. Angeldust stays in the ring as Deranged leaves. Special K works Sedrick over. They keep him isolated in their corner and use quick tags and plenty of double teaming and rule bending to keep the advantage. Sedrick gets a spurt of offense nailing Deranged and Angeldust with forearms and he goes to make the tag but Angeldust stops him with a springboard dropkick and Sedrick rolls to the outside. Roderick comes into the ring but Deranged saves Angeldust by cutting him off with a flying crossbody block. Angeldust bounces off the far ropes then dives through and hits Sedrick with a suicide dive and rolls him back into the ring.

Angeldust gets cocky in his offense and Sedrick counters a suplex attempt with a DDT. Sedrick crawls and makes a tag to Roderick as Angeldust tags in Deranged. Roderick comes into the ring and takes Deranged down with a massive clothesline. Angeldust gets in too and Roderick stops him with a wicked chop. Roderick whips him into the ropes then catches him as he comes off with a big backbody drop. Deranged jumps Roderick from behind and hits him with a tornado DDT. Angeldust rolls to the outside then gets to his feet on the apron. Roderick gets to his feet and Angeldust springboards in and hits him with a flipping ace crusher. Deranged climbs to the top rope then hits Roderick with a 450 splash and covers him for the three count.

Winner: Special K (17:24)

OA: 59 CR: 36 MQ: 83

Patterson: “What a great match to start off the show and the Tag Team Title Tournament. The Strong Brothers put on a good showing but Special K just came too fast and furious at them.”

Guppie: “It seems that Special K has kept their winning ways even during their break.”

Patterson: “Next we find out who Special K faces later tonight to move onto the title match. The team of Petey Williams and Nate Webb will take on the Rachies, Danny Rose & Adam Flash.”

Guppie: “Can you say styles clash? Flash and Rose are hardcore brawlers. Williams and Webb are high-flyers. Webb has fought in some hardcore matches but he can’t compare with Flash and Rose in that respect.”

Segment 3: Williams Webb vs. The Rachies (Adam Flash & Danny Rose)

Rose and Flash started the match off strong using their larger size to dominate Webb and Williams. The Rachies isolated Williams right in the beginning of the match and just worked him over and paid extra attention to the back of Williams trying to get him to submit several times but Webb continued to make the saves for his partner and urge him to make the tag. Williams fights back and manages to drop Flash with a big enziguri. Williams rolls forward then tags in Webb. Webb comes into the ring and takes Flash down with a springboard dropkick. Webb clears the ring as Rose comes into the ring then puts Flash back down as well. Rose comes back into the ring and catches Webb from behind with a clothesline. The Rachies start to gain some control again but Williams recovers and charges into the ring and we have a pier six brawl. Williams sends himself and Flash out of the ring with a clothesline. Webb grabs Rose then flips up into a powerbomb position then grabs Rose and takes him down to the mat with a DDT. Webb rolls Rose over and covers him for a three count.

Winner: Williams Webb (8:21)

OA: 57 CR: 37 MQ: 77

Patterson: “Nate Webb and Petey Williams win a fairly quick match against the Rachies. Flash and Rose looked good earlier but the high octane offense of Williams and Webb gave them the win.”

Guppie: “The speed of the smaller men overcame the strength advantage of the Rachies. Up next my favorite wrestler and yours, Danny Daniels, takes on Sedrick Strong.”

Patterson: “Daniels beat Sedrick’s brother Roderick last month and Sedrick is looking to avenge his brother’s loss.”

Segment 4: Danny Daniels vs. Sedrick Strong

The two men face off in the middle of the ring and lockup. Daniels takes advantage early but Strong counters out of the hold and the two men go through a quick sequence of chain wrestling. Both men get to their feet and face off to applause from the crowd. Strong plays to the crowd only to have Daniels jump him from behind and take control of the match. Daniels works the neck of Strong while he has control of the match. He eventually takes Strong down with a snapmare then grabs him with a rear chinlock. Strong fights to his feet and loosens the hold with some elbows to the gut of Daniels. Strong bounces off the ropes and shoots Daniels across the ring. Daniels bounces off the ropes and Strong drops him with a dropkick. Strong gets to his feet holding his neck. Daniels gets up to his feet and Strong meets him with a series of chops then snapmares him over and delivers a dropkick to the back of the head. Strong takes control of the match and hits Daniels with some big impact moves to go for the finish but Daniels continues to kick out and fight back.

Daniels makes his move when Strong pulls him up and Daniels nails him with a big low blow. Daniels picks Strong up and drops him with a piledriver. Daniels makes the cover and gets a two count. Daniels keeps the momentum going in his favor. Daniels drops Strong with a brainbuster then follows up with a rolling neck whip. Strong rolls to the corner grabbing his neck as he makes his way to his feet. Daniels gets right on him and clubs him over the back and the neck with big forearms. Daniels grabs Strong then picks him up and drops him with a tombstone piledriver. Daniels spins over to cover Strong and hooks the leg for the three count.

Winner: Danny Daniels (10:32)

OA: 57 CR: 31 MQ: 83

Guppie: “Danny Daniels gains another impressive victory here in the SMWA as he takes Strong to a good contest. Daniels targeted the neck and worked it through out the match and setup his finisher the tombstone very well.”

Patterson: “Danny Daniels is a star on the rise here in the SMWA. And I can only see more good things from him. Now we determine the first tag team that will be entered into the match to determine the first ever SMWA Tag Team Champions as Petey Williams and Nate Webb take on the team of Special K.”

Guppie: “Williams and Webb are a new team but they are both great workers. Special K however are an experienced tag team and they are great in the ring. This is going to be an intense match but I think that Special K has the edge with their experience together.”

Segment 5: Williams Webb vs. Special K

Angeldust and Webb start the match off and they circle each other warily before exchanging a lighting fast series of armdrags and the ilk. Both men go for an armdrag and fall to their back then kip up and face off to applause from the crowd. Both men tag out and Williams and Deranged enter the ring. Williams moves forward looking for a lockup but Deranged nails him with a kick to the leg then follows it up with a spinning heel kick that takes Williams down. The two men go back and forth hitting some big impact offense the keeps popping the crowd but neither man can manage to get a pinfall early in the match. Williams takes Deranged down with a DDT then tags in Webb. Webb climbs up to the top rope and comes into the ring with a crossbody block and covers Deranged for a two count. Webb pulls Deranged to his feet and whips him into the ropes. Webb telegraphs the backbody drop and Deranged flips over Webb’s back. Webb turns around and Deranged plants him with a tornado DDT then crawls quickly to his corner to tag in Angeldust.

Angeldust waits until Webb gets to his feet then springboards in and flips over Deranged and plants him with a flipping ace crusher. Angeldust makes the cover but Williams makes the save. Angeldust gets in Williams’ face and Webb uses the opportunity to recover. He grabs Angeldust from behind and drops him on his head with a german suplex before rolling to his corner and tagging in Williams. Williams comes in and takes Angeldust back down with a clothesline. Deranged tries to get in but Williams dropkicks him in the face as he steps through the ropes and he tumbles to the outside. Webb gets off the apron and goes around the ring to brawl with Deranged on the outside. Williams goes for the flipping piledriver but Angeldust counters it with a backbody drop. On the outside Deranged avoids a chairshot from Webb then nails a superkick that sends the chair into Webb’s face. Deranged climbs up to the top rope and Angeldust grabs Williams and hits him with a snap suplex and Deranged follows it up with a phoneix splash that gets a three count.

Winner: Special K (14:28)

Notes: **1/4

OA: 62 CR: 40 MQ: 84

Patterson: “What a fast paced exciting match between those two teams. Right off the bat they were throwing big moves and going for the win.”

Guppie: “But it didn’t work for Williams and Webb as they are eliminated by the Special K team. It appears Special K is going to continue their dominance here in the SMWA.”

Patterson: “They still have another team to go through first though. Up next Vito Thomaselli takes on Chance Beckett in a no holds barred rematch. Thomaselli won the last match and then Beckett freaked out saying he was tired of losing and that he was going to change that tonight.”

Guppie: “Both of these men are coming off loses on our last show and they need a good showing here tonight.”

Segment 6: No Chance

Chance Beckett makes his way out from the back and the crowd greets him with a chorus of boos with a few cheers mixed in from those damn work rate fans. Beckett slides into the ring then takes the mic from the announcer.

Beckett: “Ever since I made the challenge for this match people have been coming up to me and asking why a no holds barred match? You aren’t a hardcore wrestler. I look at them and tell them I didn’t say it was a hardcore match I just said it was no holds barred. Now that Vito doesn’t have any chance to get ready I’ll tell you why. Every match I come so close to victory. I work a body part over through the match and then I clamp on the finishing submission. Then my opponent crawls over and grabs the ropes and he breaks the hold and makes a comeback. He takes the cheap way out. He can’t escape the hold and everybody knows it. Instead of giving up and taking the beating like a man he crawls to the ropes and makes the ref break the hold for him. Tonight that won’t happen. No holds barred means that there are no ropes break. If I lock in a submission in the ropes tough shit unless Vito can get out of it which isn’t going to happen. Vito is in for a beating tonight. I’m going to take it to him and beat his sorry ass all around this ring then finish him off.”

OA: 67

Segment 7: Vito Thomaselli vs. Chance Beckett (No Holds Barred)

The two men face off in the middle of the ring and Beckett initiates a lockup and takes control going behind Thomaselli with a rear waistlock. Beckett picks Thomaselli up and slams him down to the mat face first. Beckett holds Thomaselli as he slams two knees down on his back Beckett pulls Thomaselli up to his feet then whips him into the ropes and nails him with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Beckett locks in a bow and arrow but Thomaselli quickly escapes by flipping over and gets a one count on Beckett. Beckett gets to his feet and goes for a backbreaker but Thomaselli counters it with an armdrag. Thomaselli takes the control of the match as Beckett keeps charging and Thomaselli keeps avoiding the charges and using Beckett’s momentum against him. Beckett bails to the outside after taking a hiptoss but Thomaselli bounces off the ropes and flies over with a hands free senton that nails Beckett perfectly. Thomaselli controls the match on the outside brawling around the ring with Beckett. Beckett counters a punch from Thomaselli then slams him face first onto the apron. Beckett grabs Thomaselli by the hair and runs him face first into the ring post. Beckett taunts to the crowd then grabs a chair from ringside as the crowd boos him. Thomaselli gets to his feet in time to take a chairshot over the head and hits the ground again. Beckett picks Thomaselli up showing his bleeding head. Beckett lands a couple of punches to the cut then picks Thomaselli up and runs him back first into the ring post then rolls Thomaselli back into the ring.

Beckett works Thomaselli’s back over in the ring then locks in a boston crab. Thomaselli yells in pain then slowly crawls to the ropes and the ref tells him he can’t break the hold as he grabs the ropes. Thomaselli then grabs the edge of the ring and pulls himself out of the ring and Beckett releases the hold as Thomaselli pulls him against the ropes. Beckett goes to the outside and slams Thomaselli back first into the guardrail then spins him around and slams him back first into the apron then throws him into the ring. Beckett grabs the chair he deposited on the outside and slides it into the ring. Beckett slams the chair across the back of Thomaselli sending him down to the mat. Beckett then set the chair on Thomaselli’s back then locked in a camel clutch sitting on the chair adding pressure to the back of Thomaselli. Thomaselli fights the hold and Beckett gets frustrated with it and breaks the hold but slams down on the chair across Thomaselli’s back. Beckett pulls Thomaselli to his feet and Thomaselli fires back with some punches but Beckett nails him with a big forearm that weakends Thomaselli. Beckett fires a few more punches to the cut on Thomaselli’s forehead then slides Thomaselli half out of the ring. Beckett gets on the apron then leans through the ropes and grabs Thomaselli’s feet and locks in an elevated boston crab using the ropes for leverage. Thomaselli fights the hold and screams in pain with blood running down his forehead. The ref slides to the outside and checks on Thomaselli. The ref picks the arm of Thomaselli up and it drops three times and the ref calls for the bell.

Winner: Chance Beckett (16:22)

Notes: **1/4

OA: 69 CR: 58 MQ: 81

Patterson: “Vito Thomaselli showed a lot of heart in that match but Chance Beckett showed no remorse. He went after that back through out the match and that elevated boston crab in the ropes just knocked Thomaselli out.”

Guppie: “It helped that Thomaselli was bleeding from his forehead. He just passed out from the pain and blood loss.”

Patterson: “After that brutal match it’s time for our main event as Alex Shelley defends the SMWA Championship against Jimmy Jacobs who is getting a rematch in an attempt to win the title back.”

Guppie: “Their first match was good and this one could be even better. These two men know each other so well and they always have to bring something new to the match to win.”

Segment 8: Alex Shelley © vs. Jimmy Jacobs

The two men start the match circling each other warily. Jacobs raises his arm up for the knuckle lock and Shelley meets him. The two men lockup and immediately pull the arms down and go chest to chest. Shelley takes control in the test of strength and pushes Jacobs down into a bridge. Jacobs drops out of the bridge and kicks Shelley in the leg and drops him to a knee then gets up and crosses Shelley’s arm as he goes behind him. Jacobs pulls back on Shelley’s arms choking him. Shelley gets to his feet then spins around uncrossing his arms then jumps up and throws Jacobs with a monkey flip that breaks the hold. Both men kip up to their feet to the applause of the crowd. Jacobs charges and Shelley takes him down with an armdrag and the two men go through a quick paced exchange of cruiser moves. Both men go for dropkicks at the same time then get to their feet and face off to another round of applause. The two men start circling again apparently rethinking their plan of attack. Shelley makes a move in and Jacobs responds by charging and dropping him with a clothesline. Jacobs knocks Shelley back down with several more clotheslines before he gains control of the match. Jacobs works Shelley over by nailing some suplexes and trying to wear him out with submissions.

Jacobs goes for a hurrincanranna but Shelley counters it by dropping him with a powerbomb. Shelley takes the time to recover and when Jacobs gets to his feet the two men start trading forearms. Shelley breaks that up when he blisters Jacobs with a knife edge chop. Jacobs grabs his chest and spins around and Shelley grabs him with a rear waistlock and dumps him on his head with a german suplex. Shelley sees the advantage and works the neck of Jacobs that he just hurt. Shelley keeps the offensive up with some head drops and some submissions working on the neck of Jacobs. Shelley picks Jacobs up and hits him with another german suplex but bridges on this one to get a two count. Jacobs rolls to the ropes to get to his feet and surprises Shelley with a superkick as he gets to his feet and both men are down on the mat. Jacobs gets to his feet first and whips Shelley but Shelley reverses it sending Jacobs into the ropes and Jacobs comes off the ropes and takes Shelley down with a hurrincanranna.

Jacobs grabs his neck as he gets to his feet then rolls his head around but goes right over to Shelley and nails him with some stops before pulling him to his feet. Jacobs whips Shelley into the corner then charges with a big boot but Shelley moves out of the way and Jacobs racks himself up on the top rope. Shelley springboards off the near ropes then spins around and nails Jacobs in the back of the head with an enziguri. Jacobs falls off the ropes and back into the ring. Shelley grabs Jacobs pulling him to his feet by his hair then delivers a northern lights suplex into the corner that drops Jacobs on his head. Shelley picks Jacobs up again and hits him with the shell shock. Jacobs rolls onto his stomach and Shelley goes to his feet and wraps them up and locks in an STF. Jacobs reaches for the ropes but they are nowhere near and Shelley grabs the right arm and gets it inside his arms adding torque to the neck and midsection. Jacobs flails his hand around submitting and the ref calls for the bell.

Winner: Alex Shelley (20:54)

Notes: **1/2

OA: 67 CR: 51 MQ: 84

Patterson: “Shelley defeats Jacobs in his second title defenses and keeps the SMWA Championship around his waist.”

Guppie: “Shelley did what Beckett did in the last match but less violently. He targeted a body part, Jimmy’s neck, and worked it the entire match to setup the finish.”

Patterson: “Indeed he did and that’s what makes him the SMWA Champion that he is. Folks we’ll be back next month with great action. Be sure to check smwawrestling.com for news on the wrestlers and upcoming events.”

Trouble in Paradise

www.smwawrestling.com

May 23, 2005

Two members of the SMWA roster will be on the sidelines. John Walters has suffered an ankle injury and will be out for two months. Walters was injured during a match in Ring of Honor when he fell to the outside awkwardly. We wish him a speedy recovery. Josh Daniels has gone into rehab for unnamed drug dependency and he will be in there for as long as it takes to get better. We hope to see Daniels kick his addictions quickly so he can get back into action.

The first half of the Tag Team Championship tournament is done and it came off well. The crowd loved it and so did the workers. Hopefully the second half of the tournament can keep the pace going for the tournament. The team of Special K’s Angeldust and Deranged will meet the winners of this half of the tournament to crown the champions.

The Second half of the tournament is called Double Dragon and will be held in Mount Pleasant at the Finch Fieldhouse. The show will take place on June 19. Already signed is Alex Shelley defending the SMWA Champioinship against Danny Daniels. We also have the second half of the tag team tournament featuring; Special K (Slim J & Hydro), Jimmy Jacobs & N8 Mattson, The Strongs, Johnny Spade & Halo, and finally Alex Shelley & Vito Thomaselli.

Double Dragon Card

www.smwawrestling.com

June 2, 2005

June 19, The Finch Fieldhouse in Mount Pleasant. We will determine the team that will face Angeldust and Deranged for the SMWA Tag Team Championship.

Alex Shelley © vs. Danny Daniels (SMWA Championship)

Danny Daniels has carved a path through the midcard of the SMWA. He hasn’t faced any of the bigger names in the SMWA but he’s getting his chance to challenge for the SMWA Championship and he’ll have his hands full with a match against Alex Shelley. However Shelley is involved in the Tag Team tournament with his partner Vito and this could be his third match of the night leaving an opening for Daniels.

Vito Thomaselli vs. N8 Mattson

These two men are risking triple duty tonight. This is a rematch between the two men and Vito is looking to get a win this time. Mattson is confident in his abilities and that he will come out on top.

Matt Sydal vs. B-Boy

The “So-Cal Thug” B-Boy makes his return to the SMWA and he’ll be taking on one of the best high flyers in the business as he faces off with Sydal. This should be an exciting match.

Special K (Slim J & Hydro) vs. Vito Thomaselli & Alex Shelley

Special K could end up facing themselves in the finals of the tag team tournament. However they have a tough roadblock as they have to take on the current champion.

Jimmy Jacobs & N8 Mattson vs. Johnny Spade & Halo

The Coalition could meet in battle tonight but the former champion Jacobs and the holy warrior Mattson could stop them. Mattson has won every one of his matches since the midwest invitational tournament and we’ll see if his luck extends to tag team matches as well.

Second Round Tag Team Match

Hopefully the show will be up Wednesday.

Double Dragon

June 19, 2005

Announcer: Brian Guppie

Color Commentator: Mike Patterson

Patterson: “Welcome to SMWA Double Dragon. I’m Mike Patterson and my partner on commentary is Brian Guppie as always. We have the second half of the tag team tournament tonight. Alex Shelley also defends the SMWA Championship against Danny Daniels.”

Guppie: “Shelley could be in trouble in that match because he’s in the tag team tournament and he’s risking triple duty tonight and Daniels may have a match against a tired champion. We also have B-Boy making his return as he takes on Matt Sydal in what should be an exciting match.”

Patterson: “N8 Mattson and Vito Thomaselli will meet as well tonight as they are fighting for a match against the champion at the next show. We start tonight off though with Vito Thomaselli and Alex Shelley tagging up against the Special K team of Slim J and Hydro.”

Guppie: “Special K returned last month and they came back strong as Deranged and Angeldust earned a shot at the Tag Team Championship. This is a clash between the coalition and Special K. The Coalition had though they had gotten rid of Special K but they have come back and they are going to have to put them down again.”

Segment 1: Special K (Slim J & Hydro) vs. Vito Thomaselli & Alex Shelley

Alex Shelley and Slim J start the match off. Slim J moves in and Shelley nails him with a dropkick to the legs. Shelley immediately follows up on that and goes to work on J’s leg. Shelley hits a shin breaker then tags in Thomaselli. Thomaselli gets into the ring and nails J with a chop block to the knee as he goes to make the tag. Thomaselli grabs the leg of J and drops down with several knees then goes for a figure four but J plants his foot on his ass and shoves him off. J rolls over and tags in Hydro. Hydro comes in and takes Thomaselli down with a rear waistlock then floats over his back and gets him with a front chancery. Hydro pulls him to his feet and delivers several knees to the midsection then picks Thomaselli up and drops him face first from the suplex. Thomaselli grabs his midsection and rolls onto his back and Thomaselli delivers a series of stomps to the midsection. Hydro continues to work the midsection before tagging in J. Hydro holds Thomaselli open and J delivers a big kick to the midsection. J grabs Thomaselli with a double underhook then picks him up and drops him across his knee with a gut buster. J makes the cover and gets a two before Shelley breaks up the count.

J gets in Shelley’s face and the ref tries to separate them and Hydro takes advantage and comes into the ring and chokes Thomaselli. J backs off and takes control of Thomaselli. J goes for a hurrincanranna but Thomaselli drops him on the back of his head with a vicious powerbomb then makes a falling tag to Shelley. Shelley comes into the ring on fire and knocks J back down with a clothesline. Hydro comes in and Shelley nails him with a shell shock and he rolls out of the ring. Shelley keeps J down in the ring and stretches him wearing him down. Shelley goes for the shell shock on J but Hydro comes in and takes Shelley down with a superkick. Thomaselli comes into the ring and Hydro nails him with a spinning heel kick. Hydro grabs Thomaselli and drops him on his head with a tiger suplex. Slim J comes off the top rope with a 450 splash on Thomaselli and the ref makes the three count.

Winner: Special K (13:28)

Notes: *1/2

OA: 60 CR: 46 MQ: 75

Patterson: “Special K manage to steal a big win there. They pinned Vito Thomaselli who wasn’t the legal man for his team.”

Guppie: “As much as I would like to see Special K lose the referee’s decision is final and we have to live with it.”

Patterson: “So true. We have the second tag team tournament match and hopefully the winners of this match can stop Special K from going on to the Tag Team Title match.”

Guppie: “I think that’s very possible. Jimmy Jacobs and N8 Mattson take on the Coalition team of Johnny Spade and Halo. This should be an awesome match.”

Segment 2: Jimmy Jacobs & N8 Mattson vs. Johnny Spade & Halo

Jacobs and Halo start the match and they shake hands. The two men lock up and Jacobs goes behind with a hammerlock. Halo jumps up and comes down with a snapmare to break the hold. Jacobs gets to his feet and Halo plants him with a DDT. The match continues fast paced as Halo tags in Spade and Spade comes in with a slingshot elbow drop. Spade goes for the cover and gets a long one count. Spade continues to control the match and hits big impact moves going for the win but Jacobs keeps fighting back and kicking out. Jacobs flips backwards as Spade goes for a belly to back suplex and staggers into his corner and Mattson tags himself in. Mattson comes into the ring and takes Spade down with a big forearm, Halo comes in to help his partner and Mattson hits him with a big dropkick and he rolls to the outside. Mattson bounces off the ropes and dives through with a suicide dive onto Halo. Spade recovers in the ring and launches himself onto Mattson and Halo with a crossbody block. Jacobs recovers and gets the crowd behind him then runs and grabs the ropes and goes over with a plancha onto everybody.

Jacobs helps Mattson to his feet then rolls him into the ring and rolls Spade into the ring with him. Mattson pulls Spade up to his feet and whips him into the ropes and hits him with a spinning headscissors. Mattson takes control of the match and works Spade over then nails him with a TKO and goes for the cover and gets two before Halo breaks up the cover with a leg drop to the back of the head. Mattson tags in Jacobs and Jacobs grabs Spade as he gets to his feet and goes for the contra code but Spade counters it by racking Jacobs up on the ropes. Spade tags in Halo and Halo springboards off with a dropkick that sends Jacobs to the outside. Mattson runs into the ring and Halo ducks and delivers a backbody drop over the top rope and onto Jacobs on the outside. Jacobs and Mattson get to their feet on the outside arguing when Halo 180's onto the top rope then hits them with a perfect asai moonsault. Halo grabs Jacobs and rolls him into the ring. Halo pulls Jacobs to his feet and drops him on his head with a big brainbuster then makes the cover and Mattson just watches as the ref makes the three count.

Winner: Johnny Spade & Halo (9:57)

Notes: **1/2

OA: 64 CR: 43 MQ: 85

Patterson: “I don’t want to discredit the win of Johnny Spade and Halo but you know the dissension we just saw between Mattson and Jacobs really helped them win.”

Guppie: “I don’t think either man really wanted to team up. They both wanted some gold and they have teamed together but neither man really wanted to work as a team in there and it cost them the match.”

Patterson: “Later tonight the Coalition team of Johnny Spade and Halo will face off against the Special K team of Slim J and Hydro to determine who will face Angeldust and Deranged for the SMWA Tag Team Titles. Our next match pits the So-Cal Thug B-Boy against the high flying Matt Sydal.”

Guppie: “This is going to be a good match and it will really show both mens strengths. B-Boy can wrestle any style. He prefers the stiff striking style but he can fly if he has to. Matt Sydal is a great new comer and he can fly like a veteran but he can also go on the mat as well. I don’t know where they are going to go with this match.”

Segment 3: So-Cal Thug

B-Boy walks down to the ring to the strains of some generic west coast rap. B-Boy has his face almost completely covered with a bandana on his head and over his mouth. He slides into the ring then climbs the ropes and takes the bandana off from his mouth and throws it at the crowd. He drops down from the turnbuckles and takes the mic from the announcer.

B-Boy: “Yo, every time I come here to the Southern Michigan Wrestling Alliance I here a bunch of bullshit about how great the Michigan and Midwest wrestlers are. They are some kind of hot spot for new wrestlers. That is a load of shit! The Midwest may be making some stars for a while but Southern California is where the real wrestling is developing. John Cena, Samoa Joe, Super Dragon and I all started down in So-Cal. The future is in California! The Midwest may be hot for now but you ain’t going to be shit for long! For every Chris Sabin or Alex Shelley you have a bunch of Rick and Scott Steiners. Big mouths and big muscles but no skills in the ring. Tonight I face the rookie chump Matt Sydal. He isn’t one of your precious Michigan wrestlers but I’ll make an example of him and when I get the chance I’ll show some of these Michigan chumps what the So-Cal Thug is all about.”

OA: 52

Segment 4: B-Boy vs. Matt Sydal

Sydal slides into the ring and B-Boy unleashes with a series of stomps before he can get to his feet. The ref manages to pull him off Sydal allowing him to get to his feet but B-Boy gets right in his face and slaps him hard. Sydal replies with his own slap but B-Boy shakes it off then blisters Sydal with some hard chops then whips him into the corner and charges with a tooth rattling forearm to the side of Sydal’s head. B-Boy taunts to the crowd as Sydal lays slumped in the corner. B-Boy comes back and Sydal meets him with a kick to the gut then gets to his feet and drops him with a DDT. Both men slowly get to their feet and Sydal lets out a flurry of offense throwing B-Boy around the ring with armdrags and hiptosses before B-Boy rolls to the outside. Sydal follows him out with a springboard shooting star press to a huge pop from the crowd. Sydal keeps the match on the outside brawling with B-Boy but the plan of attack back fires as B-Boy takes control on the outside and starts to put a hurting on Sydal slamming him into the guardrail and the ring post and the apron just battering him around.

B-Boy rolls a battered Sydal into the ring. He makes the cover and gets a two count. B-Boy continues to beat Sydal down and keeps getting near counts but Sydal won’t stay down to the delight of the crowd. Sydal makes a comeback as he ducks a forearm and hits B-Boy with an enziguri that takes both men down. B-Boy slowly gets to his feet and when he gets up Sydal kips up and the crowd cheers. Sydal charges and takes B-Boy down with a flipping neckbreaker that gets a long two count. Sydal climbs up to the top rope and hits a flying crossbody block for another two count. Sydal pulls B-Boy into the corner then hops up and goes for a tornado DDT but B-Boy stops it and hits a release northern lights suplex that sends Sydal into the corner and drops him on his head. Sydal gets to his feet dazed and B-Boy grabs him and drops him with the cross special brainbuster. B-Boy gets to his feet and tells the crowd that it’s over then makes the cover to a 2 & 9/10 and the crowd pops big time and B-Boy can’t believe it. He pulls Sydal to his feet and goes for the brainbuster again but Sydal slides down behind him. Sydal goes for a german suplex but B-Boy reverses it and hits a dragon suplex on Sydal and bridges it for the three count to the disappointment of the crowd.

Winner: B-Boy (12:34)

Notes: *1/4

OA: 58 CR: 42 MQ: 74

Patterson: “It seems B-Boy decided he was just going to beat the living hell out of Sydal in that match and it worked for him.”

Guppie: “Sydal had some nice comebacks where it looked like he was going to win but B-Boy wouldn’t stay on the defensive for long and his offense was high impact and it took Sydal off his game. B-Boy is definitely showing us what So-Cal wrestling is about.”

Patterson: “Another person on our roster who wrestles in the So-Cal area is Vito Thomaselli. A lot of fans may not know that since he has been with us from the start but it’s true. Next he has a rematch against N8 Mattson. Mattson won the first time but you never know what could happen.”

Guppie: “N8 Mattson finally lost a match although it was a tag team match so his momentum could be weakening and Vito is coming off a big loss to Chance Beckett last month and he’s got to turn things around.”

Segment 5: Vito Thomaselli vs. N8 Mattson

The two men face off in the ring and as the bell rings both men charge towards each other and start throwing punches. The two men slow down into a boxing match of sorts as both men go for punches and line up shots. Thomaselli changes the path of the match as he shoots in, picks Mattson up and sends him to the mat with a powerslam. Thomaselli drops an elbow but Mattson rolls out of the way. The two men continue to go back and forth with neither man able to gain a real advantage in the match. The match slowly takes its toll on the two men as they start to slow down as they keep taking move after move. Mattson picks Thomaselli up in a fireman’s carry for the TKO but Thomaselli slides down behind Mattson and hits him with a big release german suplex that folds Mattson up. Thomaselli rolls him over for a cover and gets a two count. Thomaselli pushes the slight advantage he has and starts to get some momentum as he hits Mattson with some big moves and a series of near falls. Thomaselli pulls Mattson to his feet and whips him into the corner then charges with a clothesline but Mattson nails him with a boot to the face. Mattson jumps onto the second rope and as Thomaselli staggers forward he leaps over and takes him down with a blockbuster. Mattson goes for the cover and gets a long two count.

Mattson pulls Thomaselli to his feet and throws him over the top rope. Mattson goes to the outside and the two men brawl as Thomaselli starts to fight back but Mattson kills the comeback with a side russian legsweep against the guardrail. Mattson rolls Thomaselli into the ring then grabs a chair from ringside and throws it into the ring as he slides it in. The ref grabs the chair and throws it out of the ring. Behind the refs back Mattson slides on some brass knuckles and delivers a big left hand as Thomaselli gets to his feet. Mattson takes the nucs off and slides them out of the ring then covers Thomaselli for the three count.

Winner: N8 Mattson (10:33)

Notes: **

OA: 62 CR: 43 MQ: 82

Patterson: “For a man who claims to be a messenger of God N8 Mattson sure isn’t a very good person. First he left his teammate Jimmy Jacobs in their match and now he uses the brass knuckles to get the win.”

Guppie: “Well you may not like his tactics but he did a good job of distracting the ref so he could cheat. “

Patterson: “I’m not going to congratulate him for cheating! Mattson is going to get what’s coming to him soon. Our next match will determine who faces Angeldust and Deranged for the Tag Team Titles. The Special K team of Slim J and Hydro takes on Johnny Spade and Halo.”

Guppie: “This is going to be a fast-paced, high-flying match. These guys are some of the best we have and the match is going to reflect that.”

Segment 6: Special K (Slim J & Hydro) vs. Johnny Spade & Halo

The two teams face off at the start of the match and it breaks down into a pier six brawl before the bell rings. Hydro gets a double leg takedown on Spade and starts pounding him with punches. The two men roll over trading places on top before the spill to the outside still brawling. Halo and J trade forearms in the ring and Halo hits a big forearm that spins J and Halo hooks him with a school boy for a one count. The two men face off again and this time Halo counters a charge form J with a big knee to the face and J staggers back. Halo grabs him and drops him with a big belly to back suplex. Halo goes for the cover and gets a two count. Halo pulls J up and gets caught with a low blow. The ref warns J but J begs off. Halo walks to his corner grabbing his crotch and tags in Spade. Spade jumps over the top rope and charges with a clothesline that drops J then gets in Hydro’s face and talks some trash. The ref holds Hydro back and Spade hits J with a nice snap suplex. Spade controls the match with some solid basic wrestling but J cuts his advantage off with a rake to the eyes followed up by a swinging neckbreaker. J tags in Hydro and he comes in with a stomp to the back of Spade’s head.

Hydro grabs Spade with a camel clutch but it’s too close to the ropes as Spade grabs them and the ref breaks the hold. Hydro responds with another stomp to the head as he drops the hold. Hydro continues to work relentlessly on the head and neck of Spade before he tags in J. A slingshot legdrop to the back of the head of Spade brings J into the ring and gets a two count. J pulls Spade to his feet and slaps him across the face but that only infuriates Spade as he fires back with some big foreams. Spade goes to make the tag but J runs and nails him with a clothesline to the back of the head that drops him to the mat and follows that up with a dropkick that sends Halo to the outside. Halo tries to get in the ring but the ref stops him and J applies a choke to Spade. Halo relents and the ref applies the five count before breaking up the count. J and Hydro keep Spade in their corner and use a lot of tags to keep fresh and wear Spade down. Hydro gets a near fall with a brainbuster that Halo breaks up. The ref takes Halo back to his corner and Hydro uses the ropes for leverage as he grinds his knee into the back of Spade’s neck. The ref tells Hydro to stop and he does but as he gets up he drops a big knee to the neck then tags in J. J climbs up to the top rope and taunts to the crowd as he does so. J jumps off but Spade makes a desperate move and nails J with a superkick as he comes off the ropes and both men are down. Spade starts crawling to his corner. J tags in Hydro and Hydro comes to stop Spade but Spade springs forward and tags in Halo who takes Hydro down with a slingshot shoulder tackle.

Halo is a house on fire and clears the ring. Hydro and J get together on the outside and Halo charges with a hands free planca that takes out both men. Halo lands on his feet and bows to the crowd to a large pop. Halo picks Hydro up and rolls him into the ring. Halo makes the cover and gets a two count. Halo takes control of the match as he works Hydro over. Halo hits a nice series of suplexes that he ends with an exploder that folds Hydro in half. Halo goes for the cover but J comes in and breaks up the cover. Halo gets in J’s face but Hydro recovers and nails him with a superkick as he turns around. On out the outside J grabs a chair and walks over to the ropes. Hydro whips Halo into the ropes and J slams the chair into his back as he hits the ropes. Halo staggers forward and Hydro drops him with the Lethal driver. The ref gets to two before Spade comes in and breaks up the cover with an elbow to the back. Spade picks Hydro up and drops him with a DDT then charges the ropes and sends himself over with a plancha onto J that slams the chair back into his face.

Halo and Hydro slowly get to their feet in the ring and face off. They trade some knife edge chops but neither man gains the advantage so they start trading forearms. Hydro ducks a forearm from Halo then hooks him and nails a tiger suplex. Hydro bridges it and gets a long two count and the crowd cheers Halo’s escape. Hydro picks Halo up and hooks him for another tiger suplex but he blocks it then nails Hydro with some elbows to the face. Halo goes behind Hydro and flips him with a german suplex that slams him onto the mat face first. Halo slowly gets to his feet as does Hydro. Halo kicks him in the gut then picks him up and drops him with a brainbuster. Halo climbs up to the top rope as the crowd cheers. Halo raises his arms in the air then comes off the top with a corkscrew senton to a loud pop. Halo makes the cover and gets a two count before J slides into the ring and breaks it up. Spade slides in behind him. J gets to his feet and Spade spins him around then kicks him in the gut and drops him with a brutal powerbomb. Spade picks Hydro up and drops him with a big powerbomb as well. Halo goes back up top and hits Hydro with another corkscrew senton. Halo makes the cover and Spade counts along with the ref to three.

Patterson: “Johnny Spade and Halo pick up a big win over Slim J and Hydro! What a fantastic match!”

Guppie: “It seems that somebody has Special K’s number and Spade and Halo are going to need to beat another Special K team if they want to become the SMWA Tag Team Champions.”

Patterson: “That’s going to be an awesome match next month. But right now Danny Daniels is going to challenge Alex Shelley for the SMWA Championship.”

Guppie: “Danny Daniels has earned this shot with a bunch of wins lately. As much as I like and respect Daniels though he’s going to have a tough time with Shelley here tonight.”“

Segment 7: The Future Champion

Danny Daniels walks down to the ring to the boos of the crowd. Daniels talks shit to them giving as he good as he gets before he slides into the ring. Daniels takes the mic from the announcer then prepares to back hand him but he slides out.

Daniels: “Shut the hell up! You idiots don’t know true talent when you see it. Finally I am getting my due. Alex Shelley I’ve worked my way up the card for this match. I’ve beaten a lot of people to get this match and I’m not going to fall short like so many others have. This is my chance to get some gold around my waist. I’ve been a champion before in other promotions and I know just how important it is to have the gold around your waist and I want that power and the prestige. Tonight is a night for Danny Daniels to shine.”

OA: 55

Segment 8: Alex Shelley © vs. Danny Daniels (SMWA Championship)

The two men lock up to start the match. Daniels goes behind Shelley and takes him down with a rear waistlock but Shelley escapes and grabs Daniels with a front chancery. Daniels frees himself as he gets to his feet and nails Shelley with some knees to the midsection then grabs Shelley and hits him with a swinging neckbreaker and Daniels goes right to the neck of Shelley with a rear chinlock with a knee right in the back of his neck. Shelley fights to his feet but Daniels takes him back down and cranks the hold. Shelley fights the hold and spins around breaking Daniels’ grip then gets to his feet and nails a seated dropkick. Both men get to their feet and Shelley rubs his neck as he gets up. The two men face off and Shelley comes in for a lockup but Daniels meets him with a big forearm then lights him up with some chops. Daniels starts to run roughshod over Shelley keeping him on the defensive and working the neck of Shelley whenever possible. Daniels goes for a DDT but Shelley counters it with a bridging northern lights suplex for a two count on a surprised Daniels. Daniels gets right back on the offensive as he takes Shelley down with a big clothesline. He gets back to working the neck of Shelley with a camel clutch. Shelley fights the hold and slowly manages to make his way to the ropes to get the break.

Daniels pulls Shelley to his feet and picks him up for the tombstone but Shelley wiggles his way free and grabs Daniels from behind and hits him with a big belly to back suplex. Both men struggle to their feet. Daniels throws a wild punch and Shelley ducks it then goes behind Daniels and drops him on his head with a release german suplex. Shelley starts to fight back and goes on an all out offense but he’s too weak to follow any of his big moves with a cover and can’t get anything more than a two count. Shelley pulls Daniels to his feet and goes for the shell shock but Daniels grabs the ropes and Shelley slams back first onto the mat. Daniels drops a knee on the head of Shelley then rolls him over and drops a knee to the back of his head. Daniels picks Shelley up and drops him with a cradle piledriver. He makes the cover and gets a two count before Shelley puts his foot on the ropes to break the count. Daniels looks angry then picks Shelley up and goes for the tombstone piledriver but Shelley flips backwards and drops Daniels with a tombstone piledriver of his own and both men are down on the mat. Both men slowly get to their knees and they throw punches at each other and Shelley gets a slight advantage. Shelley nails Daniels with a big forearm then pulls him to his feet and drops him with the shell shock. Shelley drags himself over and makes the cover for a three count.

Tag Team Finale & A Challenge

www.smwawrestling.com

May 21, 2005

The finals for the Tag Team Championship Tournament are set as Johnny Spade & Halo will take on the Special K team of Angeldust & Deranged. The match pits the Coalition against Special K and both teams not only want to win the titles but put the other team down for the count. As the final match in the tournament is taking place at the next show it is being called Tag Team Challenge. It will take place on June 18, 2005 at the Finch Fieldhouse in Mount Pleasant.

Chance Beckett called the SMWA offices just after Double Dragon and made a challenge for Vito Thomaselli. We contacted Vito and he agreed to the challenge. At Tag Team Challenge Vito Thomaselli will face Chance Beckett in a loser leaves the SMWA match. It will be a ladder match and hanging from the ceiling will be an envelope with a contract inside. Both men are putting a lot on the line in this match so you can expect both men to go all out here.

June 18, 2005, The Finch Fieldhouse the finals of the Tag Team Tournament will take place and it is shaping up to be an amazing show.

Alex Shelley© vs. N8 Mattson (SMWA Championship)

Mattson hasn’t lost a singles match in 8 months so he’s been rewarded with a shot at the Championship. Mattson looks to continue his winning streak but Alex Shelley is no pushover and he wants to keep the belt around his waist.

Chance Beckett vs. Vito Thomaselli (Ladder match, Loser Leaves the SMWA)

The match with everything on the table here. This is the third match between the two men and both men have won one. This isn’t just for respect it’s for a job.

Johnny Spade & Halo vs. Deranged & Angeldust (SMWA Tag Team Championships)

The finals in the tag team tournament. Both teams have had some tremendous battles to get a shot at the titles. Who will win is anybodies guess but the winner will have earned the belts.

Danny Daniels vs. Boyce LeGrande

Daniels takes on the newcomer LeGrande. Daniels is coming off a loss to SMWA Champion Alex Shelley and wants to get back to his winning ways.

Petey Williams vs. Cade Sydal

It's still alive and kicking it just took me a while to write this last show. I like to think it was worth the wait though. :D Good predictions by the way.

Tag Team Challenge

June 18, 2005

Announcer: Brian Guppie

Color Commentator: Mike Patterson

Patterson: “Welcome to the Tag Team Challenge, I’m Mike Patterson and Brian Guppie is with me on commentary as always. We have a huge show for you tonight. As the name implies the first SMWA Tag Team Champions will be crowned tonight as Angeldust and Deranged take on Halo and Johnny Spade.”

Guppie: “We also have Alex Shelley defending the SMWA Championship against N8 Mattson. But we have a match with more on the line as Vito Thomaselli and Chance Beckett meet in a ladder match and both men are putting their careers in the SMWA on the line as the loser will not wrestle in the SMWA again.”

Patterson: “We also have Danny Daniels taking on Boyce LeGrande, Petey Williams facing off against Cade Sydal and in our first match Sedrick Strong takes on Xtasis who’s making his debut tonight.”

Guppie: “Xtasis is a wrestler from Southern California and he’s looking to earn some respect here tonight but Sedrick Strong is no push over.”

Segment 1: Sedrick Strong vs. Xtasis

The two men start off with a chain wrestling sequence that ends with both men kipping up to their feet and facing off to the applause of the crowd. Xtasis tries to pick up the pace but Strong knocks him down with a big clothesline then works on the leg of Xtasis to keep him grounded. Strong hits a nice shinbreaker then follows it up with a leg grapevine but Xtasis gets to the ropes breaking the hold. Xtasis pulls himself to his feet using the ropes and Strong approaches but he gets a couple of punches to the face then a DDT that plants him. Xtasis climbs up to the top rope and shakes his leg out before nailing Strong with a big crossbody block for a two count. Xtasis keeps up the fast pace and gets several more near falls on Strong. Strong puts an end to that when he blocks a hiptoss then flattens Xtasis with a big clothesline. Strong whips Xtasis into the ropes and catches him with a dropkick right to the knee. Strong goes back to work on the leg and Xtasis is obviously in trouble. Xtasis fights his way to his feet then bounces off the ropes but Strong grabs him and drops him with a spinebuster. Strong grabs Xtasis’ leg then wraps him in a figure four leglock. Xtasis fights it then taps out.

Winner: Sedrick Strong (8:21)

Notes: *1/2

OA: 50 CR: 19 MQ: 82

Patterson: “An impressive showing from both of those young men there. Xtasis had some nice moves but Sedrick took out his legs and taking the legs out of a high flyer kills their offense.”

Guppie: “It’s a simple strategy but it’s one that can work every time if the person employing it knows how to destroy the leg.”

Patterson: “In our next match Petey Williams takes on Cade Sydal. Cade hasn’t been in the SMWA lately and Williams has been competing in tag team action so this gives both men an opportunity to get back to singles wrestling.”

Guppie: “Williams has been picking his game up lately. Cade Sydal, I haven’t really seen recently but if he doesn’t bring something new here he could be in trouble.”

Segment 2: Petey Williams vs. Cade Sydal

The two men go full bore right at the bell as they go through a quick exchange of armdrags and hiptosses. Cade gets to his feet and does the indy stand off but Williams jumps up and clobbers him in the side of the head with an enziguri. Williams takes control of the match at that point and starts trying to wear Cade down. Cade fights back as he flips over on a german suplex attempt landing on his feet. He grabs Williams as he gets to his feet and nails him with his own german suplex. Cade goes to work on the neck with a rear chinlock and plants a knee right in the back of Williams. Williams slowly fights his way to his feet but Cade cuts him off with a kick to the back of the knees then flips over him with a neck whip. Cade continues to work the neck of Williams. He goes for a piledriver but Williams gets his legs around Sydal’s head and throws him with a headscissors. Williams keeps his legs wrapped around Sydal. Sydal manages to kip out and get to his feet but Williams grabs the opportunity and drops Sydal on his head with a backdrop driver. Cade gets to his feet and Williams kicks him in the gut then hits the flipping piledriver. Williams makes the cover and gets the three count.

Winner: Petey Williams (7:54)

Notes: 3/4*

OA: 51 CR: 31 MQ: 72

Patterson: “A good showing by both men. Cade Sydal came up a little short tonight but that flipping piledriver will put anybody away.”

Guppie: “That is for sure Mike. That move is probably the most devastating finishing move in wrestling right now.”

Patterson: “Up next Danny Daniels takes on Boyce LeGrande as he tries to rebound from a loss to Alex Shelley last month.”

Guppie: “Danny Daniels is always great in the ring and I’ve heard lots of great things about LeGrande so I’m really looking forward to this match.”

Segment 3: Danny Daniels vs. Boyce LeGrande

The two men circle cautiously then lock up in the middle of the ring. They go back and forth before Daniels starts to gain a power advantage and pushes LeGrande into the ropes. The ref calls for the break and Daniels throws in a knife edge chop as he breaks the hold. The two men lock up and this time LeGrande slowly backs Daniels into the ropes. The ref calls for the rope break and LeGrande breaks cleanly and Daniels gets a cocky look on his face and LeGrande gives him something to think about with a forearm to the side of the head. LeGrande takes Daniels over with a snapmare then a snap kick to the spine. LeGrande clamps in a rear chinlock and Daniels flails about. Daniels manages to escape the hold and the two men go back and forth with some basic wrestling maneuvers early on. Daniels makes the first big move as he sends LeGrande to the mat with a swinging neckbreaker. Daniels follows his usual routine and goes to work on the neck of LeGrande.

LeGrande takes the abuse as he fights against it. Daniels really clamps his holds on and LeGrande can’t escape them. Daniels goes for the cradle piledriver but LeGrande gets himself back on the ground then reverses it with a backbody drop. LeGrande nurses his neck but he strikes quickly and takes Daniels down with a big release german suplex. Daniels staggers back to his feet and LeGrande drops him across his knee with a backbreaker. LeGrande starts to get the momentum going in his favor as he works the back of Daniels. LeGrande locks in a nice bow and arrow submission but Daniels fights it and manages to flip over into a cover for a two count. Both men get to their feet and start trading some punches. Daniels ducks under a LeGrande punch. LeGrande turns around and Daniels grabs him and drops him with a brainbuster. Daniels makes the cover for a two count. Daniels pulls LeGrande back to his feet and slaps him a couple of times then kicks him in the gut and drops him with the cradle piledriver. Daniels makes the cover and gets the three count.

Winner: Danny Daniels (13:35)

Notes: ***

OA: 64 CR: 34 MQ: 94

Patterson: “Boyce LeGrande really showed a lot of skill in that match but Danny Daniels managed to get some big impact moves in early and he capitalized sooner and that gave him the edge in this match.”

Guppie: “Danny Daniels may have lost his championship match but he’s still got a lot of skill and he’s going to bring that level of skill to the ring every time. He’ll get another shot at the title sometime and he’ll win it that time.”

Patterson: “Speaking of titles it’s time for us to crown the first ever SMWA Tag Team Champions. The Special K team of Angeldust and Deranged takes on the Coalition team of Johnny Spade and Halo.”

Guppie: “These two teams have been working together for quite some time and they all know how to go in the ring. This is going to be an outstanding match tonight. Neither team wants to lose this match.”

Segment 4: Special K vs. Johnny Spade & Halo (SMWA Tag Team Championship)

The match starts with all four men brawling in the ring. Spade and Halo send the Special K guys to the outside of the ring then hit stereo suicide dives to the delight of the crowd. Halo rolls Angeldust into the ring and follows after him. Halo hits some fast moves early and keeps making covers for a quick win but he can’t keep Angeldust down this early in the match. Halo whips Angeldust into the corner then charges and nails him with a running splash. Spade tags himself in and he climbs onto the top rope and comes off as he takes Angeldust down with a knee to the back of the head and really slams it down hard as they hit the mat. Spade and Halo continue to control the match as they isolate Angeldust and beat him down in their corner. Halo drops Spade with a brutal brainbuster and floats over with a cover but Deranged manages to break it up to save his partner. Halo gets to his feet and Deranged nails him with a kick to the head before the ref manages to back him up to his corner. Angeldust manages to crawl over to his corner and make the tag in as does Halo. Spade comes into the ring and takes a big leg lariat from Deranged. Deranged goes for the cover but Halo pulls him off and holds the leg. Deranged gets up on his other foot and nails Halo with an enziguri.

Deranged stomps on Halo sending him to the outside of the ring. He then returns his attention to Spade who is just starting to get to his feet. Deranged grabs him from behind and throws him for a german suplex but Spade lands on his feet. Deranged senses it and backflips landing a kick on the top of Spade’s head and he crumples to the mat. Deranged makes the cover and gets a long two count. Deranged takes control of the match and works Spade over trying to take him out and keep him down but he’s not succeeding. Deranged tags in Angeldust who has recovered on the apron. Deranged powerslams Spade down and Angeldust comes in with a slingshot legdrop for a two count. Angeldust keeps Spade down and works him over and the Special K team gets some revenge as they isolate Spade and pummel him in the corner trying to weaken him for a finish. Deranged drops him on his head with a vicious powerbomb and Angeldust follows it up with a 450 splash but Spade gets his knees up to block it. Deranged gets back into the ring and Spade catches him with a low blow. Spade crawls to his corner and tags in Halo.

Halo comes in a house on fire. Deranged and Angeldust get to their feet and get knocked down by Halo and they keep getting up and going back down as the crowd really gets behind Halo. Halo sends Deranged to the outside with an overhead belly to belly suplex that the crowd loves. Angeldust gets to his feet and Halo hits him with a hurrincanranna that sends him rolling to the outside with Deranged. Halo charges the ropes and goes over with a plancha but Special K catches him then deliver a double team fall away slam into the guardrail and Halo is laid out. Angeldust rolls him into the ring and makes the cover for a two count. Special K start to isolate Halo but they have a tough time of it as Halo continues to get spurts of offense where he just unleashes some big forearms and stiff chops. Halo has several opportunities to make a tag but Spade is still down and recovering on the apron and Halo is always taken back to the opponent’s corner. Angeldust manages to hit a springboard flipping ace crusher on Halo and covers him but Spade manages to dive in and break up the cover with a forearm. Spade stays in the ring and fights off both members of Special K and Halo slowly gets to his feet in the ring as Angeldust and Deranged regroup on the outside.

Deranged and Angeldust climb onto the apron on opposite sides of the ring and they enter at the same time. They attack Spade and Halo with a blitzkrieg offense as they start throwing armdrags and hiptosses. Spade and Halo are thrown out of their rhythm by the attack and Deranged sends Spade to the outside with a spinning headscissors. Angeldust takes Halo down with a snapmare and follows it up with a neck whip. Special K start the beat down on Halo again. Halo fights back though and he lands a series of good forearms on both members of the team before Deranged catches him with a big spinning kick. Spade tries to get into the ring and help Halo but Deranged cuts him off with a kick to the face then a legdrop on the back of Spade’s head as he is draped between the ropes in the ring. Deranged grabs Halo and drops him with a brainbuster and Angeldust comes off the top with a 450 splash. Angeldust makes the cover and gets a three count.

Winner: Special K (26:33)

Notes: ***3/4

OA: 68 CR: 44 MQ: 93

Patterson: “Johnny Spade and Halo put up a hell of a fight but they fell short as Deranged and Angeldust work so perfectly together as a tag team.”

Guppie: “It appears that Special K has continued on their winning ways here in the SMWA and they could be holding onto those straps for quite a while.”

Patterson: “Our next match puts two men’s careers on the line here in the SMWA. Chance Beckett and Vito Thomaselli face off in a ladder match. Whoever climbs the ladder and takes the contract off the rope first gets to stay here in the SMWA. The loser, however, is out of a job.”

Guppie: “These guys have split the first two matches they’ve had against each other and this one has a lot on the line so neither man is going to want to lose here. This is going to be a brutal match as they are going to pull out all the stops to win.”

Segment 5: Last Chance?

Chance Beckett walks out from the back and is engulfed by the boos of the crowd although there are a few workrate fans out there who cheer him but they are drowned out by the majority. Chance slides into the ring and takes the mic from the announcer.

Chance: “Vito I made this challenge to you and honestly I did not think you would accept it. I thought you would back down and prove yourself to be the little bitch that I know you are. But you stepped up to the plate and are looking to hit a homerun. I’m telling you right now that you are going to strike out. I’m going to give you a chance to reconsider the decision to fight me. When I put this mic down and your music hits if you don’t come down here to the ring I’ll understand. You don’t have to put your career on the line if you don’t think you can do it. I’m confident enough that I’m going to win. I’m not dumb enough to make a bet on a losing hand and I don’t think you are either. I’m telling you for the sake of your career don’t come out here when the music plays. Just admit that I am the better wrestler. Don’t force me to end your career.”

OA: 68

Segment 6: Chance Beckett vs. Vito Thomaselli (Ladder Match, Loser leaves the SMWA)

Vito answers the challenge and comes down to the ring as his music plays. The two men face off in the ring and as the bell rings they charge at each other and face off throwing big punches at each other. Vito gets the advantage and drapes Beckett over the top rope with a wicked forearm. Vito gets a running start then delivers a clothesline that sends both of them tumbling to the outside. Vito picks Beckett up on the outside and the two men continue to brawl on the outside of the ring. Vito takes Beckett down with a vertical suplex on the gym floor then pulls a ladder out from underneath the ring and slides it in. Vito climbs onto the apron but Beckett gets to his feet and pulls his feet from underneath Vito and he slams face first into the apron. Beckett grabs Vito and whips him into the ringpost and he falls down to the floor. Beckett slides into the ring and sets the ladder up and starts climbing. Vito gets into the ring with some blood starting to come out of his forehead. He grabs the back of Beckett’s trunks and pulls him off the ladder and onto his back. Vito picks Beckett up and powerslams him down to the mat then takes the ladder down and leans it against the corner. Vito picks Beckett up and tries to powerslam him on the ladder but Beckett slides down behind his back. Beckett goes for a german suplex but Vito flips over landing on his feet then charges forward and hits a bulldog on Beckett that slams him face first onto the ladder. Beckett turns around laying his back on the ladder and Vito charges and hits him with a flying splash in the corner.

Vito throws Beckett off the ladder then sets it up in the middle of the ring. Vito starts climbing but Beckett recovers then climbs up behind Vito and nails him in the back with a couple of forearms then takes him off with a belly to back suplex. Both men slowly get to their feet and start trading wild punches again. Vito starts to get the advantage but Beckett grabs the ladder and pulls it down over Vito’s head. Beckett folds the ladder up and slams it into the midsection of Vito as he staggers backwards. Beckett slams the ladder down over the back of Vito. Vito falls to the mat and Beckett sets the ladder over the body of Vito. Beckett climbs up to the top rope and jumps onto the ladder with a senton that slams it down on Vito.Vito grabs his midsection more than the other body parts that were hurt as Beckett gets to his feet clutching his back. Beckett delivers some stomps to the midsection of Vito then pulls him to his feet and locks in an abdominal stretch. Vito starts to fight out of the hold so Beckett breaks it up and turns it into a pump handle slam. Beckett continues to work the midsection of Vito over wearing him down. Beckett goes back to the abdominal stretch but Vito manages to grab the ropes and use them as leverage to flip Beckett over. Beckett goes sailing over the top rope and lands hard on the gym floor to a big pop from the crowd.

Vito grabs the ladder and slides it out of the ring then follows after it. He delivers a couple of stomps to Beckett then sets the ladder up so it stretches across the gap between the ring and the guardrail. Vito pulls Beckett up onto the apron then goes for a vertical suplex but Beckett blocks it. Beckett picks Vito up and drops him stomach first across the ladder with a suplex type move. The ladder bends a little in the middle as Vito hits. Beckett jumps off the apron with a legdrop across the back of Vito and the ladder bends in the middle touching the floor. Both men slowly get to their feet. Beckett gets up first and looks at the destroyed ladder and shakes his head. As Vito gets to his feet Beckett launches himself over the damaged ladder and takes Vito down with a tackle. Beckett mounts him and starts raining down punches on him. Beckett finally stops then looks under the ring and pulls out another ladder and slides it into the ring. Beckett climbs onto the apron then enters the ring. He sets the ladder up and starts climbing. Vito drags himself to his feet and climbs onto the apron and springboards into the ring and takes out the ladder. Beckett and the ladder fall sideways and Beckett jumps free at the last minute and drops throat first over the top rope. Vito grabs Beckett as he staggers backwards and drops him on his head with a release german suplex.

Both men are slow to get to their feet. They face off and start trading some lackadaisical punches then they start getting into it and they start rocking each other with forearms. Vito spins around from a forearm and levels Beckett with a rolling elbow. Vito falls onto his back as well then rolls out of the ring. He goes under the ring again and this time he pulls out a table. Vito sets up the table near the corner then grabs Beckett and goes for a vertical suplex through the table but Beckett counters with a vertical suplex of his own. Beckett slowly climbs up to the top rope and comes off with a big elbow drop to the midsection of Vito. Beckett drags himself to his feet and pulls the ladder to the middle of the ring and sets it up. Beckett starts climbing up the ladder and Vito pulls himself to his feet and uses the ladder to get up and he starts climbing as well. Beckett gets to the top and reaches for the contract envelope but he can’t grab it and Vito gets to the top and hits him with some punches to the midsection and Beckett goes down a ladder to face Vito and the two men start trading punches. Vito ducks a punch from Beckett then grabs him with a front facelock. He slams Beckett’s face onto the top of the ladder then lifts him up and off the ladder with a vertical suplex and they slam through the table then down to the mat and the crowd is going insane. Vito is the first one to start moving and he slowly drags himself up the ladder then gets to the top and grabs the contract before half falling, half climbing down the ladder.

Beckett gets to a sitting position in the pieces of the table and he looks up to see that Vito is holding the contract and he puts his head in his hands like he’s crying. Vito comes over and offers his hand to help him up but Beckett slaps it away. Vito stares at him then leaves the ring and walks to the back as the crowd cheers. Beckett gets to his feet and takes the mic.

Chance: “This isn’t over between us Vito. I may not be able to come back here but rest assured you will pay for what you have done. You will be punished for taking me out. Rest assured on that fact. Your number will be coming up soon.”

Winner: Vito Thomaselli (21:46)

Patterson: “Vito Thomaselli has defied the experts once again as he has beaten Chance Beckett and driven him out of the company.”

Guppie: “I thought for sure that Vito had ended his career when he accepted this match but it looks like I was wrong. Chance Beckett has been a constant star around here and now he is gone.”

Patterson: “The violence that those two men inflicted on each other was brutal. Both men are going to be sore tomorrow but at least Vito knows that he still has a job to go to. I don’t know how are main event can follow up that match but it will. Alex Shelley defends the SMWA Championship against N8 Mattson.”

Guppie: “Mattson has carved a path of victory through the ranks here in SMWA and he hopes to keep that path going as he takes on Alex Shelley tonight.”

Segment 7: The Hand of God

N8 Mattson comes out to the ring as bells sound ominously and gothic music starts playing. Mattson walks down to the ring his head bowed. He climbs onto the apron then enters the ring and takes the mic from the announcer.

Mattson: “I have seen that tonight I will become the champion. I will be the leader of this promotion as I will hold the gold. I will lead by example as I take the filth in the lockerroom and you filthy fans into a reign of enlightenment. Alex Shelley it is too bad that you stand in my way of fulfilling this prophecy. You are a good man. You are humble about being champion. You are humble about the skills that God has granted you. But tonight your skills shall fail you. Tonight is the night when I will ascend to glory and bring glory to my Lord and Savior. Alex Shelley you have had an impressive reign as champion. Defeating the technical master, Chance Beckett. You beat Jimmy Jacobs, the huss man, to become the champion. You have beaten everybody who has stood in front of you but tonight you will find an opponent who will not bow done before you. You will find an opponent who is filled with the grace of God and the power of his righteous fury. I will lead this promotion out of degradation as the champion. I will lead this promotion into the glory that it can only dream about because it will have a righteous man at the helm. All you heathens in the crowd will see me risen to my rightful position as I take the champion down and ascend to his throne!”

Segment 8: Alex Shelley © vs. N8 Mattson (SMWA Championship)

Shelley comes down to the ring and hands the belt to the ref. The two men face off then circle each other. Shelley makes the first move by shooting in but Mattson dodges backwards then goes onto the apron and stalls and gets jeered by the crowd. Mattson gets into the ring as the ref holds Shelley back. The two men circle each other and Mattson comes in with a punch but Shelley catches it then takes Mattson down into a fujiwara armbar. Mattson tries to escape but Shelley keeps Mattson down on the mat and tries to concentrate on the neck and shoulder area. Shelley gets a cross armbreaker in but Mattson quickly gets to the roes to break the hold and Mattson rolls to the outside to regain his composure. Shelley tries to follow him out but the ref stops him. Shelley backs off and the ref turns back to Mattson and tells him to get to the ring. Mattson ignores him and continues walking around the ring and apparently talking to himself. Shelley gets fed up with it then bounces off the ropes and dives through with a suicide dive right onto Mattson to the delight of the crowd. Shelley takes Mattson back into the ring and slides in but Mattson gets up and delivers some stops to Shelley as he gets into the ring. Mattson takes control of the match. Mattson hits a vertical suplex then grabs Shelley with a rear chinlock. Mattson continues to wear Shelley down.

Mattson picks Shelley up in the fireman’s carry the spins him out for the TKO but Shelley counters it and takes Mattson down with a reverse DDT. He holds onto Mattson’s head and pulls him up into a dragon sleeper. Mattson refuses to tap so Shelley picks him up and hits an reverse vertical suplex. Shelley makes a cover and gets a two count. Shelley pulls Mattson to his feet and goes for the shell shock but Mattson nails him with an elbow to the side of the head and takes him down with an STO. Mattson makes the cover and gets his own two count. Mattson starts to beat Shelley down again. He mixes big moves in with some submissions in an attempt to sap Shelley of his energy. Mattson picks Shelley up in the fireman’s carry and this time he hits the TKO. Mattson makes an arrogant cover and only gets a two count. Mattson can’t believe it and argues with the ref. Shelley gets to his feet and hits Mattson with a release german suplex. Mattson gets to his feet a little dazed and Shelley grabs him and plants him with the shell shock. Shelley makes the cover and Mattson kicks out at two to the surprise of everyone. Shelley shakes off his disbelief and grabs Mattson by the feet and gets an STF then hooks the right arm of Mattson between his clasped arms. Mattson appears ready to tap then he steels his face and slowly crawls forward and grabs the rope to break the hold and Shelley definitely can’t believe that. Mattson rises to his feet his right arm dangling at the side of his body. Shelley faces off with im and Mattson jumps up and hits him with an enziguri. Mattson lifts Shelley up and drops him with an ace crusher. Mattson climbs up the ropes. He clasps his hands together then comes off the top with a big legdrop. Mattson makes the cover and gets a three count.

Winner: N8 Mattson (16:19)

Patterson: “We have a new SMWA Champion as N8 Mattson has defeated Alex Shelley! I can’t believe that match. Mattson kicked out of the shell shock then escaped that modified STF that Shelley uses as a submission finisher. Mattson showed a lot of heart to win that match.”

Guppie: “He showed his faith in that match Mike. He stayed strong during that match and his God rewarded him.”

Patterson: “Don’t tell me you believe that tripe. Fans be sure to check out smwawrestling.com to find information on your favorite wrestlers and upcoming shows. For Brian Guppie, I’m Mike Patterson, good night.”

It ws really a great show. Special K as Tag Team Champs are quite good and i hope they have a great run. Í am a little bit confused that all your champions have always a run of only 3 or 4 months. Maybe N8 Mattson have a longer run now.

Good diary, i love it.

I've noticed that all my champions have had about the same length as champion. It's purely coincidental, I didn't do it on purpose but I did find it amusing.

I'll have the card for the next show up tomorrow.

SMWA going off course?

www.michindywrestling.com

July 21, 2005

Simon Phoenix

The Southern Michigan Wrestling Alliance may have just held their most important show to date. For the first time they have crowned a champion who isn’t really known nationally and is more of a Michigan star in N8 Mattson. While this may not seem like a big deal, after all Mattson has been with the company for a while and developed a winning streak and a new persona. But the SMWA hasn’t been a typical Michigan Independent Promotion. They have been gaining national attention. While Jimmy Jacobs and Alex Shelley are Michigan wrestlers they have gained a lot of national attention with there work in RoH, CZW and IWA:MS. N8 Mattson hasn’t really gone outside of Michigan for work and when he has it has been limited and not very high profile. This could be a move that hurts the company or really helps Mattson. Mattson is also the first champion to really have a gimmick. Jimmy Jacobs will always be the huss man but he is foremost a wrestler. While Mattson can go in the ring he has really based his rise on this cleric type character and that seems to be the thing that is getting him the title shot. However the fans haven’t been reacting too well to it. While his last promo was fairly well received a lot of people have found the gimmick kind of weak. Hopefully Mattson can step the work up and justify his title reign.

The show also saw a loser leaves match pitting Vito Thomaselli against Chance Beckett. Chance Beckett is the most over wrestler in the SMWA and one of the most talented. Vito isn’t a bad worker but he’s not on the level of Beckett. Everybody predicted a win for Beckett but that’s not how it went down. Vito Thomaselli managed to get the contract and Beckett is out of a job. Because of how skilled Beckett is on the mic and in the ring I don’t think this is the end of the feud but there has to be something more but even taking Beckett out of the ring for a couple of months could hurt as fans know that he always delivers in the ring. This could turn out well but not having Beckett isn’t going to be a good thing.

However the show was very entertaining as it had some awesome wrestling and some really important matches. The Tag Team Title match was really good and Angeldust and Deranged are a good choice for champions. Boyce LeGrande and Danny Daniels had an awesome match in the undercard which really blew everybody away and they definitely put on a good show. Petey Williams vs. Cade Sydal and Sedrick Strong vs. Xtasis weren’t bad but they were just sort of there. Vito vs. Beckett was an awesome match and while it wasn’t the result I would have chosen those two put on an epic battle out there. N8 Mattson vs. Alex Shelley is another match where I would have chosen a different finish but it was a good match and if Mattson can keep wrestling at that level he’ll have no problem proving himself as champion.

Tag Team Challenge Fallout

What an amazing show Tag Team Challenge was. Angeldust and Deranged are the first tag team champions, N8 Mattson is the new SMWA Champion and Vito Thomaselli beat Chance Beckett in a loser leaves the SMWA match. Chance Beckett may not be able to wrestle in the SMWA but he has promised that he will make Vito Thomaselli pay. We don’t know what he means but we’ll tell you if we find out.

John Walters is back from his ankle injury and he is getting back into ring shape.

August’s show is going to be held in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The show will be August 14, 2005 and is being called No Limits. So far we know that N8 Mattson will defend the Championship against Halo and that both Strongs will be in singles action next month.

No Limits Card

www.smwawrestling.com

August 1, 2005

No Limits will be held in Ypsilanti, Michigan on August 14.

N8 Mattson © vs. Halo (SMWA Championship)

N8 Mattson makes his first title defense against the high flying Halo. Halo put on a good showing going to the finals in the tag team tournament with his partner Johnny Spade now he gets a title shot one on one.

Jimmy Jacobs vs. B-Boy

B-Boy said that he could beat any Michigan wrestler and former champion, Jimmy Jacobs, took the challenge. B-Boy will have to back up his talk as he goes one on one with Jacobs.

Special K © vs. Petey Williams & Nate Webb (SMWA Tag Team Championship)

Special K makes their first title defense as they face the team they beat to get to the finals of the tournament. Williams and Webb hope that some experience as a team will help them in this rematch.

Alex Shelley vs. Billy Reil

Shelley takes on the newcomer Reil. Shelley wants to get back on the winning track and Reil wants to start off with a big win over a former champion.

Roderick Strong vs. Kid Rageous

Roderick’s back breaking offense has proved to be useful but not dominate. Kid Rageous brings a background of great high flying and technical wrestling a deadly combination. These two are set to have a big collision.

Sedrick Strong vs. Bobby Bambino

Mr. Numbers makes his debut here in the SMWA as he takes on Sedrick Strong. The Strong brothers have shown their skill as a team but they are singles wrestlers as well and that’s what they want to show.

The show will hopefully be up this weekend but I'm not making any promises because I have a family get together this weekend so I may not get too much time on the computer.

No Limits (Ypsilanti)

August 14, 2005

Announcer: Brian Guppie

Color Commentator: Mike Patterson

Patterson: “Welcome to No Limits! I’m Mike Patterson and with me on commentary is Brian Guppie. We have some great action for you fans tonight. In our main event N8 Mattson makes his first title defense against Halo.”

Guppie: “We also have our tag team champions, Angeldust and Deranged, making their first title defense against the team of Petey Williams and Nate Webb. Jimmy Jacobs has answered B-Boy’s challenge and they will meet tonight. B-Boy said that he could beat any Michigan worker and Jacobs looks to prove him wrong.”

Patterson: “We also have former champion, Alex Shelley, taking on Billy Reil one on one. Roderick Strong will face Kid Rageous and in our first match Sedrick Strong takes on Bobby Bambino.”

Guppie: “Bambino is a great Michigan talent and it’s good to see him here in the SMWA. Sedrick Strong is not one to be underestimated though so Bambino is going to have his work cut out for him in his debut.”

Segment 1: Introducing the Strongs

A woman in a skirt suit walks down to the ring and gets in and takes the mic from the announcer.

Woman: “For those of you who don’t know who I am, my name is Jamie Koeppe and I am a wrestling manager star. I’ve been watching the talent here in the SMWA and I think I may have found two new stars. Not only are these stars great singles wrestlers they are a great tag team. And not only are these two a tag team they are brothers. So without further ado let me bring out my newest clients. Sedrick and Roderick Strong, The Strong Brothers!”

Roderick and Sedrick walk out from the back to a decent reaction from the crowd. The slide into the ring and flank Jamie.

Jamie: “These two are great athletes. Sedrick is an amazing high flyer and technical wrestler. He was in the 2002 Super-8 and while he did not win being recognized as one of the best junior heavyweights in the independent scene is quite an honor. His brother hasn’t gained that kind of recognition yet but it is only a matter of time. Roderick is a bruiser in a small man’s body. He brings the kind of power you normally see in the big men and matches it with speed and finesse. His backbreakers are famous around the indy scene. These two men are a phenomenon and I am going to be the one to help guide their careers and take these two men to the top of this promotion and the business. Tonight these two men will prove themselves in singles competition. Next month I have already secured them a match against the tag team champions, whoever they may be. This is the start of a new era in the Strongs’ careers and it’s going to be a magnificent one.”

Jamie and Roderick get out of the ring and stand ringside to support Sedrick in his match.

OA: 69

Segment 2: Bobby Bambino vs. Sedrick Strong

Bambino enters the ring glaring at Jamie and Roderick. The two men lock up in the ring and Sedrick goes behind Bambino and takes him down with a rear waistlock. Strong spins out gets a front facelock on him. Strong keeps the advantage early in the match and works the arm of Bambino. Bambino starts a comeback as he escapes a cross armbreaker by grabbing the ropes. Strong comes to pull him to his feet and Bambino grabs the front of his trunks and dumps him through the ropes. Bambino goes to the outside and takes control as they brawl around ringside. Bambino slams Strong face first into the ring post then talks some shit to Jamie and Roderick before rolling Strong back into the ring. Bambino takes to long to get in though and Strong grabs him on the apron and brings him into the ring with a brainbuster. Bambino slowly gets to his feet and Strong lands a dropkick to the left arm and Bambino clutches at it. Strong continues to work the arm before taking Bambino down with a leg lariat to the chest and grabbing the arm right into a cross armbreaker. Bambino flails for the ropes before tapping out.

Winner: Sedrick Strong (9:21)

Notes: *3/4

OA: 53 CR: 25 MQ: 82

Patterson: “An impressive victory there for Sedrick Strong. He managed to remain in control and win the match with a sound strategy.”

Guppie: “Jamie wasn’t kidding when she said these Strong Boys are good. They are going to be huge stars and this is the start of that.”

Patterson: “Up next Sedrick’s brother, Roderick, will take on Kid Rageous. Kid is making his debut here and I’m told he’s quite the high flyer.”

Guppie: “He may be but Roderick has a bruiser mentality and has one of the best power offenses going on the indies.”

Segment 3: Roderick Strong vs. Kid Rageous

Kid goes for the lockup but Strong cuts him off with a knee to the gut which he follows up with a vertical suplex. Strong takes control of the match over the stunned Kid. Strong picks Kid up and drops him across his knee with a hard backbreaker then goes right into a bow and arrow stretch. Kid manages to get the ropes but Strong stays on him drilling him with some hard chops. He whips Kid into the ropes and catches him with a massive spinebuster. Strong goes for the cover and gets a two count. Strong stays in control of the match and hits Kid with some massive offense to pop the crowd but he can’t keep him down for the three count. Kid starts to rally back with some offense. He backs Strong up with some punches then takes him over with a hurrincanranna. Strong gets to his feet against the ropes and Kid nails him with a dropkick that sends him tumbling to the outside. Kid bounces off the far ropes and goes over the top with a hands free plancha right onto Strong. Kid takes him back into the ring and takes control of the match. He keeps up his fast paced offense and Strong is stuck on the defensive. Kid goes for a big crossbody block off the top rope but Strong catches him and hits a nice fall away slam and both men are slow to get up.

Kid charges and Strong catches him with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Strong goes to work on the back of Kid again and Kid is obviously in pain from his back. Strong whips Kid into the ropes again and Kid nails him with a spinning heel kick. Kid starts a last ditch offensive attack and starts letting some big kicks fly. Strong is backed into the corner by the kicks and Kid comes in to grapple but Strong nails him with a stiff chop to the chest. Strong grabs Kid and dumps him in the corner with an overhead belly to belly suplex and Kid lands on his head. Strong picks Kid up and slams him into the corner and lays in some more chops before lifting him onto the top rope. Strong climbs up with him. Strong gets Kid up in a fireman’s carry then turns around on the second rope. Strong jumps up as he flips Kid over his head and brings him down with a backbreaker off the second rope. Kid rolls around the ring grabbing his back while Strong gets to his feet not putting much weight on his right leg. Strong grabs the legs of Kid then flips him over and locks in a boston crab. Kid fights the hold for a short time before tapping out quickly.

Winner: Roderick Strong (11:35)

Notes: 3/4*

OA: 47 CR: 20 MQ: 75

Patterson: “Kid Rageous put out some great high flying offense but Roderick went to work on that back early and he came back to it later in the match and Kid was out of the match at that point.”

Guppie: “Both of the Strong brothers went after a body part and destroyed it. Sedrick used more finesse to work the arm while Roderick just brute forced an assault on the back. These guys are a great combination.”

Patterson: “In our next match former champion, Alex Shelley takes on Billy Reil. Reil has a reputation on the East coast and now he’s venturing to the midwest.”

Guppie: “He’s facing one of our best tonight so Reil better have brought his A game.”

Segment 4: Alex Shelley vs. Billy Reil

The two men face off in the middle of the ring and they lockup. Shelley goes into a side headlock But Reil lifts him up and Shelley flips over backwards and lands on his feet. Shelley grabs Reil with a rear waistlock and goes for a german suplex but Reil blocks it then goes behind Shelley and goes for one of his own but Shelley blocks it then nails Reil with some back elbows. Shelley grabs the stunned Reil and drops him with a snap suplex. Reil gets to his feet and Shelley takes him back down with a dropkick to the knees. Shelley goes to work on the legs of Reil and keeps him down on the mat. Reil doesn’t take that for long as Shelley tries to get a figure four and Reil lands a sharp kick to the side of Shelley’s head with his free leg. Reil rolls up to his feet and hits Shelley with a swinging neckbreaker. Reil drops a knee across the forehead of Shelley then makes a cover for a two count. Reil displays his offense as he keeps Shelley on the defensive. Reil calls for the finish then picks Shelley up for a powerbomb. Shelley lands a couple of punches to Reil’s head then flips over with a hurrincanranna. Shelley stays on top of Reil and breaks the cover and grabs a cross armbreaker but Reil is in the ropes and the ref breaks the count.

Reil gets to his feet and charges but Shelley hits him with a backbody drop. Shelley grabs his legs then drops down crushing it between his legs. Shelley follows that up with a couple of elbow drops on the knee then goes for the figure four leglock but Reil is able to get his foot up and shove Shelley into the ropes. Reil gets up enough to grab Shelley and roll him up as he comes off the ropes for a two count. Shelley gets up to his feet and stomps at Shelley’s leg while he’s down on the ground. Shelley pulls Reil to his feet and hits a shinbreaker. He holds onto Reil and follows that up with a saido suplex that folds Reil in half. Shelley continues the offense nailing some high impact offense. Shelley lays Reil out with a nice spinebuster as he catches him off the ropes then grabs the leg and hooks on the figure four leglock. Reil knows he’s in trouble and reaches for the ropes but he’s trapped in the middle of the ring. He tries to reverse the hold but Shelley has it in too tight and Reil can’t do anything but tap out.

Winner: Alex Shelley (13:42)

Notes: *3/4

OA: 62 CR: 48 MQ: 77

Patterson: “Alex Shelley showed us why he is a former SMWA Champion. He devastated Billy Reil in that match.”

Guppie: “Shelley can come out of nowhere with a submission. He followed up a hurrincanranna by going right into a cross armbreaker. It’s that unpredictability that makes him so dangerous.”

Patterson: “Without a doubt, Brian. Our next match is the first Tag Team Title Defense for Angeldust and Deranged as they take on Petey Williams and Nate Webb.”

Guppie: “I’d love to see Special K lose the tag team titles but Williams and Webb are a new team. They are great wrestlers but they aren’t a team and that really puts them at a disadvantage when facing a team like Angeldust and Deranged who have a lot of experience together.”

Segment 5: Special K © vs. Petey Williams & Nate Webb (SMWA Tag Team Championship)

Angeldust and Williams start the match off. Williams comes in for a lockup but Angeldust takes him down with an armdrag. Williams gets up to his feet and Angeldust takes him down with another armdrag. Williams gets to his feet again and grabs Angeldust as he goes for another armdrag and holds onto him then drops him on his head with a big belly to back suplex. Williams goes to town nailing Angeldust with some high impact moves early in the match but he can’t get a three count as Deranged keeps making the save. Williams tags in Webb who comes into the ring and pushes Angeldust into the corner and lays in some hard knife edge chops. Webb whips Angeldust into the ropes but Angeldust grabs them then makes the tag to Deranged. Deranged flips himself over the top rope and lands on his feet then charges and misses a dropkick on Webb. Webb comes down on Deranged with an elbow drop for a quick two count. Both men get to their feet and Webb catches a kick from Deranged but Deranged nails an enziguri to take Webb down. Deranged pulls Webb to his feet and drops him on his head with a release german suplex. Deranged continues the big impact offense then tags in Angeldust. Angeldust comes in with a springboard dropkick that sends Webb rolling across the ring and tags in Williams.

Williams and Angeldust face off again and this time Angeldust knocks Williams to the mat with a standing enziguri. Angeldust follows up on the kick by picking Williams up and dropping him on his head with a tornado DDT. Angeldust goes for the cover and gets two. He pulls Williams to his feet and taunts to the crowd and Williams fights free with some punches to the midsection of Angeldust then hits him with a T-bone suplex. Williams pulls Angeldust to his feet and sets him up for the flipping piledriver but Deranged comes in and jumps off Angeldust’s back to nail Williams with a knee to the face. Williams staggers to his corner and tags in Webb. Webb comes in and Angeldust catches him with a spinning heel kick. Angeldust goes for a german suplex but Webb blocks it and goes behind Angeldust then flips him over with his own german suplex which sends Angeldust face first to the mat. Webb stays on Angeldust and works him over but Angeldust is quick to fight back and he and Webb start trading punches. Webb ducks a punch from Angeldust then folds him in half with a belly to back suplex like Williams did earlier in the match. Webb goes for the cover and gets a two. Webb pulls Angeldust up and gets an uppercut to the nuts for his trouble. Both men tag out.

Deranged and Williams face off for the first time in the match. They circle cautiously then Deranged lets a kick fly that misses. Williams follows it with his hands and Deranged comes in and tackles Williams who was distracted by the kick. Deranged mounts him and throws some punches but Williams gets his arms up to block then bridges and Deranged falls off. Both men get to their feet and Williams nails Deranged with a dropkick. Deranged kips up into a hurrincanranna that sends Williams to the outside. Angeldust runs along the apron then sentons onto Williams as he gets to his feet. Webb climbs up to the top rope and makes a big moonsault onto Angeldust. Deranged bounces off the far ropes and dives through with a suicide dive on Webb. Deranged whips Williams face first into the ringpost before taking him back into the ring. Deranged drops Williams with a brainbuster then climbs up to the top rope and hits a phoenix splash for the three count.

Winner: Special K (16:38)

Notes: **1/2

OA: 66 CR: 47 MQ: 86

Patterson: “What a match! Those guys kept dropping each other on their heads and just trying to knock their opponents out.”

Guppie: “The Special K guys manage to pull out another victory. They took a lot of punishment but they just got up and kept on fighting.”

Patterson: “At the last show B-Boy came out here and said he could beat any Michigan wrestler. He beat Matt Sydal at the show and said he was close since he came from the Midwest. Tonight he has to beat one of Michigan’s best as he takes on Jimmy Jacobs though.”

Guppie: “B-Boy talks big but he does have the skills to back up what he says although he may have gone too far when he challenged any Michigan wrestler to a match because former SMWA Champion, Jimmy Jacobs, could make this a short lived challenge.”

Segment 6: Jimmy Jacobs vs. B-Boy

The two men face off and B-Boy charges with some wild punches that connect on Jacobs. He follows those up with some stiff forearms that rock Jacobs’ head. B-Boy wraps his arms around Jacobs and spins him around with a spinebuster then gets into a mount position and just lets the fists fly until the ref pulls him off. B-Boy shoves the ref away and catches Jacobs with a running knee to the head. B-Boy continues the brutal assault on Jacobs and pounds away at him with punches, forearms and any body part that he can get to Jacobs’ face and head. Jacobs manages to duck a punch and take B-Boy down with a backslide for a two count. B-Boy gets to his feet and charges with a clothesline but Jacobs ducks it then nails B-Boy with a superkick as he turns around. Jacobs mounts a comeback as he uses his speed advantage. Jacobs hits a nice spinning headscissors on B-Boy and holds it squeezing the headscissors tight. B-Boy kips up to escape the hold.

Jacobs gets to his feet and B-Boy catches him with a stiff european uppercut then goes to town lighting him up with a series of knife edge chops that back him into the corner. B-Boy sets Jacobs up on the top rope then climbs up and nails a couple of brutal forearms to the side of the head and follows up with a hurrincanranna off the top. B-Boy is quick to make the cover and only gets a two count. B-Boy goes back to his striking attack and takes Jacobs down to the mat with a big forearm. Jacobs falls face first to the mat and B-Boy grabs him in a front facelock then starts throwing some big knees down onto his head. B-Boy rolls him over and makes another cover and once again gets a two count. B-Boy pulls Jacobs to his feet and goes for the cross special brainbuster but Jacobs flips over and lands behind B-Boy and takes him down with a reverse DDT and both men are down on the mat. They both slowly rise to their feet and and Jacobs grabs B-Boy and goes for the contra code. B-Boy holds onto his as he runs up the ropes and then spins around and drops him on his head with a variation of the cross special brainbuster. B-Boy makes the cover and gets the three count.

Winner: B-Boy (14:11)

Notes: *

OA: 51 CR: 26 MQ: 76

Patterson: “B-Boy came out of the gate swinging and despite the fact that Jacobs had control of the match in the middle he never really had a chance.”

Guppie: “B-Boy really had Jacobs on the ropes early and never really let him get on the offensive. He also made a great move as he countered Jacobs’ contra code. He just transitioned smoothly into the cross special brainbuster and put Jacobs down for the count.”

Patterson: “It’s time for our main event now. N8 Mattson makes his first title defense as he takes on Halo. N8 Mattson hasn’t lost a singles match in nine months and he isn’t going to start losing tonight.”

Guppie: “Somebody has to end the streak though and you never know who it could be. Halo is a great wrestler and he could have Mattson’s number.”

Segment 7: God’s Hand

N8 Mattson walks out to the ring with the SMWA Championship around his waist. He jumps onto the apron then enters the ring through the ropes. He takes the mic from the announcer and tells Halo to stay in his corner.

Mattson: “Last month I said that it was unfortunate that Alex Shelley was the one that I had to defeat to win the championship but I was wrong. I forgot what he had done previously. He and my opponent tonight, Halo, along with Vito Thomaselli and Johnny Spade had given themselves some kind of moral authority to deal with the Special K ravers. My mispoken words have caused my anguish and some disfavor from my Lord but that is past me. Halo tonight you will find what righteous might really is. It is not the weak weapon you used against Special K. It is the weapon that vanquishes all foes. You fought and lost several times and you only drove Special K away for a short time and only because they didn’t want to come back. None who step in front of me shall stay standing or walk away from me victorious. Alex Shelley got the beating he deserved for proclaiming himself some kind of hero and tonight you will get your beating. The rest of your friends will get what’s coming to them as well. Vito Thomaselli has felt the righteous might of me before but never for this transgression. He has only suffered for his false pride not for his false preaching of righteousness.

It is funny that you call yourself Halo. Not only do you claim to be better than the Special K ravers but by your very name proclaim that you are better than everyone else as well. You will find out how wrong as you become a bloody Halo! Tonight you have lost your right to repent! Tonight you will pay the punishment for your transgression! Bow and accept your punishment!”

OA: 50

Segment 8: N8 Mattson © vs. Halo (SMWA Championship)

Halo doesn’t bow and in fact does quite the opposite as he jumps Mattson and takes him down and the two men exchange being on top and delivering the punches. Mattson ends up on top and delivers a big forearm across the face of Halo. Halo gets to his feet with blood covering his nose and pouring into his mouth. Mattson smiles as he charges and takes Halo over the top rope with a clothesline. Mattson flips over with him and lands on his feet. He walks over to the guardrails and goes out to get a chair but Halo has recovered he gets onto the apron then delivers an asai moonsault that sends him over the guardrail and onto Mattson as the fans flee and start a holy shit chant. Halo pulls Mattson to his feet and takes him through the crowd and slams him face first into the buildings wall. Mattson staggers around then turns around right into a big chairshot from Halo and he falls to the floor bleeding. Halo pulls the bloody Mattson to his feet then picks him up and powerslams him to the floor. Mattson slowly gets up to his feet and Halo whips him forward and he crashes into the guardrail and flips over. Halo waits until Mattson gets to his feet then jumps onto the guardrail then jumps off with a crossbody block on Mattson. He pulls him to his feet and rolls him into the ring and makes a cover but Mattson kicks out at two.

Halo pulls Mattson to his feet slowly but Mattson rakes his eyes then delivers a punch to Halo’s bloody nose. Halo gets to his feet and Mattson grabs him with a side headlock then drops him to the mat with a bulldog and Halo leaves a blood spot on the mat. Mattson hooks the leg for the cover for a two count of his own. The two men go back and forth trying to bleed each other out. Halo keeps going after the cut on Mattson’s head with punches and Mattson is eager to land any blows on the nose of Halo. Mattson drops Halo face first to the mat with a DDT and takes control of the match. He grabs Halo with a sleeper hold and instead of clamping his right arm over the top of his head he uses it to pull on the nose of Halo. Halo fights to his feet then comes down with a jawbreaker to break up the hold. Halo grabs Mattson and drops him with an implant DDT. Halo hooks the leg and to the crowd’s disappointment only gets a two count. Halo climbs up to the top rope for a moonsault but Mattson gets to his feet and shoves Halo off the top. Halo flies to the outside and slams into the guardrail hard as the crowd yells in shock.

Mattson slides out underneath the bottom rope then sits the limp Halo up against the guardrail. Mattson grabs a chair out of the crowd and crushes Halo’s head against the guardrail with a wicked chairshot. Mattson rubs the chair against Halo’s face then raises the bloodstained chair up in the air. Mattson pulls a table out from underneath the ring then sets it up on the outside. He rolls Halo up onto the table then climbs onto the top rope and gets ready to jump but Halo rolls off the table. Mattson drops down to the outside and goes around the table and eats a chairshot from Halo. Both men slowly rise and start trading punches as they get up. Mattson takes the advantage when he slams a forearm across the nose of Halo. He pulls him up onto the apron with him. Mattson grabs him with a rear waistlock then picks him up and delivers a german suplex that sends both men crashing through the table to the outside. Mattson slowly makes it up to his feet then picks Halo up and rolls him into the ring. Mattson slides in after him and hooks the leg and gets the three count to the crowd’s disbelief.

Winner: N8 Mattson (17:32)

Patterson: “Wow! Those two men tried to kill each other in that match. They were both bleeding within the first five minutes and Halo’s nose was bleeding right off the start. It’s probably broken.”

Guppie: “That’s a safe assumption. Halo took that brutal fall off the top rope and into the guardrail and then he took a german suplex off the apron and through the table.”

Patterson: “The ref really gave those two men a lot of leeway but we want to see a real winner, especially in championship matches. Fans be sure to check out smwawrestling.com for information about upcoming shows and info on all your favorite wrestlers. For Brian Guppie, I’m Mike Patterson good night.”

Wild Brawl!

www.smwawrestling.com

August 16, 2005

A great night of action for No Limits was capped off with a huge brawl between N8 Mattson and Halo for the SMWA Championship. Special K retained the Tag Team Championships against the team of Petey Williams and Nate Webb.

Our next show is set for September 18 and will be in Cadillac as we head into the middle section of Michigan. The show is being called Sanitarium. N8 Mattson will be defending the SMWA Championship and as we were told on the last show the Strong Brothers will face off against Special K for the Tag Team Championships. The rest of the card will be available soon.

Sanitarium Card

www.smwawrestling.com

August 29, 2005

The card for Sanitarium has been set. Cadillac will be rocked September 18 as we head there with a loaded card.

N8 Mattson © vs. Alex Shelley (SMWA Championship)

Alex Shelley gets a rematch for the SMWA Championship and a shot at revenge although he will have to be on the top of his game in order to capitalize. N8 Mattson has been carving a path of destruction in his wake and it will take a lot of force to stop him.

Special K © vs. Strong Brothers (SMWA Tag Team Championship)

The Strongs are getting a title shot under the lead of Jamie Koeppe and they are ready to hit the big time. However Deranged and Angeldust don’t want to let go of those titles easily and they have proven in the past that they aren’t a team that’s easily beaten.

Slim J vs. Excalibur

So-Cal star Excalibur is making his debut in the SMWA and he takes on Special K’s leader Slim J in what should be a high flying contest.

Vito Thomaselli vs. B-Boy

Bobby Bambino vs. Matt Sydal

Conrad Kennedy III vs. Delirious

The show should be up by Friday. At least that's what I'm aiming for.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. I'm loving this more and more as you go along. N8 Mattson was a big surprise to defeat Shelley. I love it how you're pushing the underdogs, and the guys who are normally just overlooked. I'll make some quick predictions for the next show, they're not what I think are going to happen, but what I actually want to happen (Be a little different).

N8 Mattson © vs. Alex Shelley (SMWA Championship)

Shelley wins by cheating, possibly leading to a 2/3 falls match between the two in the coming months for a massive blowoff.

Special K © vs. Strong Brothers (SMWA Tag Team Championship)

Special K have been good champions, and I don't really want to see them dropping the titles just yet.

Slim J vs. Excalibur

As much as I want to see Excalibur come straight in with a victory, I don't think it's the right thing to do. Special K are being built up legitimately here and having the leader do the job to a newcomer, isn't a good idea. Possibly a victory by interference, leading to a rematch that Excalibur wins could possibly be a better idea.

Vito Thomaselli vs. B-Boy

Vito's still hot after beating Beckett, he has to keep it going.

Bobby Bambino vs. Matt Sydal

I love both Sydal and Delirious, from what i've seen, so go figure.

Conrad Kennedy III vs. Delirious

See above.

Sanitarium (Cadillac)

September 18, 2005

Announcer: Brian Guppie

Color Commentator: Mike Patterson

Patterson: “Welcome to SMWA Sanitarium in Cadillac, Michigan. I’m Mike Patterson and my commentary partner is Mike Patterson as always. I hope you fans are ready because we have a stacked card tonight.”

Guppie: “Indeed we do. Alex Shelley gets his rematch for the SMWA Championship as he takes on N8 Mattson here tonight. We also have Special K defending the Tag Team Championships against the Strong Brothers.”

Patterson: “So-Cal fan favorite Excalibur is making his debut here in the SMWA as he takes on Slim J, the leader of Special K. Vito Thomaselli takes on the So-Cal thug B-Boy before that.”

Guppie: “Bobby Bambino takes on Matt Sydal and Conrad Kennedy the third faces Delirious in our first match of the night. Conrad is making his debut tonight and he’s shown me a lot in other Michigan promotions so I’m expecting a lot from him. Delirious has wrestled here before and lost to Roderick Strong in a close contest.”

Segment 1: Conrad Kennedy III vs. Delirious

The two men lockup and CK3 goes to the mat with a headlock takedown. He cranks the hold but Delirious slowly gets to his feet and weakens the hold with some elbows to the midsection then bounces off the ropes and shoots CK3 across the ring. Delirious jumps over CK3 then ducks under him on the next passes then catches him with a nice superkick. Delirious takes control of the match and wears CK3 down for a short time. CK3 starts his comeback with a well aimed low blow then follows up with an eye rake getting boos from the crowd. Delirious tries to go for a ranna but CK3 reverses it with a big sitout powerbomb that gets him a two count. Delirious rises to his feet and C3 whips him into the ropes and follows up with a running back elbow. He lifts Delirious up and sets him on the top rope then climbs up and delivers a couple of punches then grabs Delirious and hits a nice superplex. CK3 floats over and gets a very close near fall. CK3 picks Delirious up and drops him on his head with a brainbuster then makes the cover for three.

Winner: Conrad Kennedy III (7:16)

Notes: 1/4*

OA: 37 CR: 2 MQ: 72

Patterson: “Conrad used a lot of cheap tactics to get that victory. He may be a good wrestler but he doesn’t hesitate to take a shortcut if he thinks that will get him the win.”

Guppie: “The end result is what matters Mike and that’s what Conrad went for. Delirious was probably mad he didn’t think of using those moves first.”

Patterson: “Well that’s your version of what happened. In our next match Matt Sydal takes on the evil Mr. Numbers, Bobby Bambino.”

Guppie: “Bobby has some great technical wrestling and we’ll see how well that works against Sydal’s high flying attack.”

Segment 2: Bobby Bambino vs. Matt Sydal

Bambino hesitates on the outside stalling refusing to get into the ring so Sydal takes the match to him with a nice suicide dive. Sydal takes Bambino into the ring and the match officially starts. Bambino struggles on defense off the beginning of the match and Sydal pushes the advantage for all it’s worth and takes Bambino down with some nice throws and works the arm early on. Bambino regains his composure as Sydal slows the match down to work the arm. Bambino rolls forward in an arm wringer then kips up to his feet then goes under Sydal and comes out with his own arm wringer. Sydal cartwheels then jumps up and hits Bambino with a monkey flip to break the arm wringer. Bambino gets to his feet and Sydal goes for a headscissors but Bambino blocks it then sends Sydal down to the mat back first. Bambino drops down with an elbow on Sydal then starts to take control of the match as he works the back of Sydal. Sydal takes the beating but vainly tries to fight back but Bambino is able to continuously strike at the back and put Sydal down and on the defensive. Sydal manages to reverse a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker with a satellite DDT that puts both men down on the ground. They slowly get to their feet. Sydal grabbing his back and Bambino rubbing his neck.

Sydal catches Bambino with a leg lariat and starts to rally the crowd behind him. Bambino gets to his feet and Sydal puts him on his back with a swinging neckbreaker then climbs up to the top rope. Bambino gets to his feet and Sydal goes for a missile dropkick but Bambino sidesteps and Sydal slams down to the mat and grabs his back. Bambino grabs Sydal and hits him with a backbreaker then locks in a boston crab. Sydal fights the hold and slowly drags himself to the ropes to break the hold. Bambino pulls Sydal up to his feet grabbing his head and cockily spins him around with some slaps to the face. Sydal grabs Bambino suddenly and sends him to the mat with an overhead belly to belly suplex. Bambino gets to his feet and charges with a clothesline but Sydal ducks it and grabs Bambino with a rear waistlock and dumps him on his head with a release german suplex. Sydal climbs up to the top rope and hits the prone body of Bambino with a shooting star press then makes the cover for a three count.

Winner: Matt Sydal (10:46)

Notes: *3/4

OA: 57 CR: 32 MQ: 83

Patterson: “An impressive showing by both men there. Bambino worked the back of Sydal but he couldn’t keep that young man down.”

Guppie: “Sydal really pulled out all the stops there and he exploded when he had to in order to get the win.”

Patterson: “In our next match Vito Thomaselli takes on B-Boy. These two men have met in So-Cal federations but now they are meeting in the SMWA’s ring and they are going to go one on one here.”

Guppie: “This is going to be a great match. These two guys are awesome in the ring. Vito Thomaselli managed to beat Chance Beckett and eliminate him from the SMWA. B-Boy beat former champion Jimmy Jacobs at the last show and has shown a brutal streak that has really ignited his skills here.”

Segment 3: Vito Thomaselli vs. B-Boy

B-Boy starts the match by throwing a weak kick with his left leg that Vito goes to block then comes in with a big right forearm that catches Vito unprepared. B-Boy takes Vito down to the ground and goes for a cross armbreaker but Vito clutches his hands together. Vito makes his way to his feet and drops B-Boy on his head to break up the hold. B-Boy gets to his feet and works his neck out and the two men face off again. Vito goes for the lockup and B-Boy cuts him off with a knee to the gut then beats him to the mat with some stiff forearms across the back. B-Boy pulls him to his feet and drops him on his head with an exploder suplex and Vito rolls to the outside. B-Boy charges and goes over the top rope with a plancha and slams to the ground hard as Vito moves out of the way. Vito pulls B-Boy to his feet and whips him hard into the guardrail then follows that up with a running knee to the face of B-Boy. Vito takes the action back into the ring and hits a vertical suplex with a floatover for a two count. Vito controls the match wearing B-Boy down slowly sapping his energy. Vito goes for a brainbuster but B-Boy floats down behind him and drops him on his head with a belly to back suplex. Both men slowly get to their feet and they start trading punches.

B-Boy takes the advantage as he starts tagging Vito with some brutal forearms that stagger him. B-Boy sends Vito down to the mat with a rolling forearm. B-Boy plays to the crowd before he lays into Vito with some hard stomps. B-Boy pulls Vito to his feet by his rat tail then backs him into the corner with some vicious knife edge chops that sit Vito down in the corner. B-Boy backs away then gets a running start and delivers a big dropkick to the face of Vito. B-Boy slides through to the outside as Vito tumbles down hard. B-Boy keeps the match on the outside and ignores the refs pleas to take it back inside. B-Boy goes to deliver a vertical suplex on the gym floor but Vito reverses it and B-Boy grabs his back on contact. Vito gets to his feet first and shoves B-Boy into the guardrail back first. The two men start brawling around the outside with neither man able to gain the advantage for long. B-Boy changes that when he nails Vito with a kick to the junk. He grabs a chair from the crowd and goes to hit Vito but the ref pulls the chair out of B-Boy’s hands. B-Boy starts arguing with the ref as a fan jumps out of the crowd and tackles Vito and starts nailing him with some punches behind the ref’s back. The fan gets to his feet and pushes his hood back to reveal Chance Beckett. Chance grabs the chair the ref took from B-Boy and clocks Vito over the head as he gets to his feet. Chance slides Vito into the ring and B-Boy slides in as well. B-Boy makes the cover and gets a 2 and 9/10s count.

B-Boy starts arguing with the ref and Chance slides into the ring. He whips Vito into the ropes and ducks down for a backbody drop but Vito sees it coming and drops him with a quick DDT and Chance rolls out of the ring. B-Boy comes in and Vito catches him with a leg lariat and the crowd starts to rally behind him. Vito gets some nice offense in and works the neck of B-Boy. He goes for a piledriver but B-Boy counters it with a backbody drop. Vito gets to his feet and goes for an irish whip but B-Boy reverses it. As Vito hits the ropes Chance whacks him in the back with a brutal chairshot. Vito staggers forward and B-Boy grabs him and drops him with a cross special brainbuster then makes the cover for the three count.

Winner: B-Boy (15:34)

OA: 63 CR: 47 MQ: 79

Patterson: “What in the hell is Chance Beckett doing here! He lost that match against Vito Thomaselli and he should not be here!”

Guppie: “Well he paid for a ticket so he has a right to be here but he shouldn’t be attacking any of our wrestlers that’s for sure.”

Patterson: “And why the hell is B-Boy friends with him! What in the hell is going on here?!”

Segment 4: Out but not Down

Chance Beckett slides into the ring holding the chair into the air victoriously. He stomps away at Vito until he falls out of the ring. Chance goes to the ropes and signals for the mic and he gets it.

Chance: “I know all you stupid fans are wondering what the hell just happened and why so I’ll tell you. I lost a match to Vito Thomaselli and I lost my job here in the SMWA but that’s okay because I’ve found a better job and all you losers can kiss my ass. I didn’t come here for a paycheck or to say goodbye to you fans. I came back so I could show Vito Thomaselli just how big of a piece of shit he is. Nobody beats me and gets off easily. I can’t stand the fact that I lost to Vito and know he’s going to pay for it the rest of his career. B-Boy is the start of that. While I will not be here in the SMWA he will be and he will make sure that I am not forgotten. Vito Thomaselli you will meet B-Boy in the ring again and you should be happy that I made this match shorter by my interference or you would really have received an ass beating here tonight. I stopped B-Boy from really destroying you because I wanted to get a piece for myself. Next time you meet that won’t happen though and you are going to wish that you were in the ring with me. I know mercy but B-Boy doesn’t and I guarantee you that in the future you will find that out for yourself!”

Chance drops the mic then leaves the ring and raises B-Boy’s arm and points at him as they walk backstage.

OA: 67

Guppie: “It seems that Chance Beckett wasn’t happy going out as a loser and he came back to get the final word in his fight with Vito Thomaselli.”

Patterson: “Whatever the reason he shouldn’t have been here and I hope we don’t have to see him again! Up next we have a great match for you fans as Slim J takes on Southern California hero, Excalibur.”

Guppie: “This is going to be a high-flying matchup. Slim J loves to go to the sky and so does Excalibur. This match is going to be going fast so don’t blink or you’ll miss something great.”

Segment 5: Slim J vs. Excalibur

As promised this match starts quickly as the two men go through a fast exchange of armdrags and the like before they both go down and kip up to face off to applause from the crowd. The two men shake hands then go for another exchange as they lockup and go through a complex sequence of holds and counters on the mat and Excalibur gets to his feet with an arm wringer on Slim J. Slim J cartwheels over then hits a jumping enziguri on Excalibur that breaks up the hold. Slim J pulls Excalibur to his feet and whips him into the ropes then takes him over with a hurrincanranna and Excalibur hits the mat and rolls right to the outside of the ring. Slim J charges and dives through the ropes with a tope con hilo that slams both men against the guardrail. Slim J takes the match back into the ring and controls with some high impact moves before Excalibur counters a german suplex by flipping over and landing on his feet then dropping Slim J on his head with a german suplex of his own. Excalibur pulls Slim J to his feet and goes for a dragon suplex but Slim J breaks the full nelson so Excalibur dumps him on his head with another german suplex but bridges this time to get a long two count. Excalibur pulls Slim J to his feet then lets him drop back down to the mat as he sees Angeldust and Deranged walk down to ringside with the title belts around their waist. Slim J takes advantage of the distraction and nails Excalibur with a back brain kick. Slim J follows that up with a cover and gets a two count.

Slim J pulls Excalibur to his feet and gets a series of elbows to his midsection for his effort. Excalibur bounces off the ropes and takes Slim J down with a shoulder tackle. Excalibur jumps over Slim J as he bounces off the ropes and Slim J gets to his feet then jumps over Excalibur as he makes another pass. Slim J swings a clothesline but Excalibur ducks underneath it then goes around with a satellite headscissors then drops Slim J with a DDT. Excalibur makes the cover and gets a two count before Angeldust pulls him off Slim J underneath the ropes. The ref looks at Angeldust who acts like he doesn’t know what just happened. Excalibur gets back into the ring and knocks Slim J back down to the mat with a big clothesline. Excalibur goes up to the top rope and as the ref checks on Slim J Deranged jumps onto the apron and trips Excalibur racking him up on the top rope. Slim J climbs up the ropes behind him then takes him off with a reverse hurrincanranna. Slim J follows that by climbing up another turnbuckle and coming off with a big 450 splash for the three count.

Winner: Slim J (12:52)

Notes: ***3/4

OA: 76 CR: 56 MQ: 97

Patterson: “Slim J gets the win with some help from his Special K teammates. Excalibur put on a good showing but he was outnumbered in the ring and he fell victim to the cheap tactics of Special K.”

Guppie: “That’s the first time we’ve really seen Special K utilize their numbers like that but don’t think it will be the last. Angeldust and Deranged are going to stay out here as they now have to defend the SMWA Tag Team Championships against Roderick and Sedrick Strong.”

Patterson: “This should be a good match. The Special K guys can fly and take damage and the Strong brothers can really dish out the punishment so we’ll see which team can manage to come out on top here.”

Guppie: “Special K has had the advantage of more experience in their first defense and most of their tournament matches but they don’t have that advantage here tonight.”

Segment 6: Special K © vs. Strong Brothers (SMWA Tag Team Championship)

Roderick and Deranged start the match off and Strong takes control as he outpowers Deranged in a knuckle lock. Roderick bends Deranged back in the knuckle lock then jumps onto Deranged and forces his shoulders down and Deranged bridges up out of the pin. Roderick jumps up then comes down hard on the legs of Deranged breaking the bridge then lets go of Deranged’s hands and goes into a mount position and lands a couple of punches before Angeldust comes into the ring and breaks it up with a dropkick to the face. Roderick gets to his feet and glares at Angeldust then pulls Deranged to his feet and whips him into the ropes. Roderick catches Deranged off the ropes with a sickening backbreaker that bends Deranged in half. Roderick makes the tag to Sedrick who comes in and lays in some stomps stopping Deranged from getting to his feet. Sedrick pulls Deranged to his feet and slams him down to the mat with a big STO. The Strongs beat Deranged down in their corner controlling the early part of the match. They make a bunch of tags keeping each other fresh as they work Deranged over. Deranged starts fighting back with some forearms and punches but Sedrick cuts him off with a big urinage suplex which gets big cheers from the crowd. Sedrick makes the cover and gets a two count before Angeldust breaks it up with a leg drop to the back of Sedrick’s head. Angeldust quickly retreats to the apron. Sedrick picks Deranged up in an inverted fireman’s carry and flips him over for a face buster but Deranged lands on his feet and hits Sedrick with a standing enziguri. Deranged gets to his feet and tags in Angeldust as Sedrick tags in Roderick.

Angeldust is on fire and he takes Roderick down with a superkick then nails Sedrick with a spinning heel kick as he gets to his feet. Roderick gets back up and Angeldust takes him down with a swinging neckbreaker. Angeldust continues the attack on Roderick’s neck and slows the pace of the match down with some submissions to the surprise of everyone. Angeldust jeers the fans and Sedrick while working the submissions. Roderick starts fighting out of a rear chinlock and tries to make a run for the ropes but Angeldust grabs him around the face and sends him slamming to the mat. Angeldust follows up with a nice legdrop and makes a cover for a two count. Angeldust picks Roderick up and whips him into his corner and nails him with a big clothesline as he tags in Deranged. Deranged pulls Roderick out of the corner and dumps him on his head with a release german suplex. Deranged works on the neck of Roderick as well gaining the Special K team an advantage. Deranged grabs Roderick with a front facelock on the mat then brings down some big knees to the neck and shoulder area of Roderick. Deranged and Angeldust turn the match around as they isolate Roderick in their corner working the neck. Angeldust attempts to finish the match with a springboard flipping ace crusher but Sedrick breaks up the cover at two. Angeldust picks Roderick up and lifts him up on his shoulders as Deranged climbs up to the top rope then comes off with a crossbody block and Angeldust falls back and Deranged gets a two count before Sedrick once again makes the save. Sedrick grabs Angeldust as he gets to his feet and drops him on his head with an exploder suplex. Deranged gets up and he gets an exploder suplex of his own. Sedrick pulls Roderick to their corner then tags himself in. He picks Angeldust up and sends him over the top rope to the outside.

Sedrick grabs Deranged and delivers a stiff slap then picks him up for a belly to back suplex then sets him up on the top rope. Sedrick climbs onto the second rope then grabs Deranged and gets him across his shoulders in an inverted fireman’s carry. Sedrick jumps off and flips Deranged up and into a face buster and the crowd starts a holy shit chant. Sedrick makes the cover as the crowd counts along with the ref and gets a two count as Angeldust pulls Sedrick to the outside. Sedrick fights back though and pastes Angeldust with some big forearms then whips him hard into the guardrails. Angeldust staggers forward and Sedrick drops him to the floor with a big clothesline. Sedrick starts to get into the ring but Deranged hits him with a dropkick sending him tumbling to the floor. Sedrick recovers and gets to his feet in time to get knocked back down to the floor from a big asai moonsault by Deranged. Deranged slides back into the ring and picks up the prone Roderick. He lands a couple of knife edge chops then whips him into the ropes. Roderick bounces off the ropes and ducks a clothesline from Deranged. He bounces off the far ropes and eats a huge superkick that echoes through the building. Deranged climbs up to the top rope and hits a phoenix splash. Deranged makes the cover and gets a three count as Sedrick comes in too late to make the save.

Winner: Special K (19:26)

Notes: **1/2

OA: 65 CR: 45 MQ: 85

Patterson: “What an amazing match between those two teams! The Strong Brothers came so close to becoming champions but they fell short.”

Guppie: “Deranged and Angeldust are really proving themselves as champions here. They have been a dominant tag team from the start and that’s not going to change anytime soon apparently.”

Patterson: “It doesn’t look like it is. It’s time for our main event folks. Alex Shelley gets a match against N8 Mattson. Shelley could win the Championship back from the man who beat him for the belt.”

Guppie: “Or he could be the next victim on his list. N8 Mattson has mowed through the competition to get to the belt and he is showing no signs of slowing down now that he has won the belt.”

Segment 7: False Visions

N8 Mattson walks down to the ring slowly with the Championship belt around his waist. The crowd boos him and Mattson ignores them as he walks down to the ring then climbs onto the apron and steps through the ropes. He walks over to the announcer and takes the mic. He walks over to Alex Shelley in the corner and stares at him before backing off and raising the mic to his mouth.

Mattson: “Alex Shelley you are foolish to step into the ring with me again. Your head is filled with false visions of glory. I have seen the true future and in that future you don’t have one. Did our first encounter teach you nothing. I am the chosen one and there is nobody he will be able to get in my way and stop me. These fans worship you though. They have forsaken their Lord and chosen a false idol to set in his place. That idol is you right now. But rest assured it will not last. You are only their idol while you stand tall. When you fall down they won’t care about you. They will forget about you and choose another idol to receive their words of praise. When you lost this belt to me you started your descent to the bottom and by using your rematch clause you have only hastened your down fall. When I won this belt from you, Shelley, you felt my holy might. But tonight you will feel my holy vengeance as well. You along with Halo and the rest of the so-called Coalition, have led a crusade against the drug addicts of Special K. However you were filled with false pride. Never did you look at yourself and gauge your own weaknesses first. Who are you to say you are better than Special K. The Lord has appointed me as his representative on Earth and I am the one who makes those decisions and you have been found unworthy!”

OA: 58

Segment 8: N8 Mattson © vs. Alex Shelley (SMWA Championship)

Mattson throws the mic to the mat and the two men charge and let fly with punches. Shelley blocks a punch from Mattson then takes him down with an armdrag then clamps on a side headlock. Mattson slowly fights to his feet then bounces off the ropes and tries to shoot Shelley off but he holds on tight and takes Mattson down still in the headlock to the delight of the fans. Mattson fights to his feet again and this time drops Shelley with a belly to back suplex but Shelley still refuses to break the hold. Mattson fights his way to his feet again and picks Shelley up and drops him over the ropes to the outside. Shelley breaks the hold but he still manages to pull Mattson over the ropes with him. The two men get to their feet on the outside and they start brawling around the ring to the delight of the crowd. Mattson gains control as he sends Shelley face first into a ringpost. He follows that up by dropping Shelley throat first over the guardrail. Mattson takes Shelley back into the ring and starts to work him over. Shelley fights back but Mattson stays in control of the match. He takes Shelley down with a nice vertical suplex then goes into a rear chinlock. Shelley slowly gets to his feet then grabs Mattson and drops down with a jaw breaker. Shelley grabs Mattson and drops him with a DDT. Both men get to their feet and Shelley ducks a wild clothesline from Mattson then grabs him from behind and drops him with a bulldog and holds on with the side headlock and grinds down on the hold.

Mattson slowly gets to his feet and Shelley puts him back on the mat with a takedown and grinds the hold on tighter. Mattson however gets a foot on the ropes to break the hold. Shelley breaks the hold and as Mattson gets to his feet Shelley hits him with a nice dropkick. Mattson struggles up to his feet and Shelley grabs him and drops him on the back of his head with a powerbomb out of nowhere. Shelley holds onto the legs and folds Mattson over for the cover and gets a two count. Shelley takes over control of the match and works the neck and shoulder area of Mattson. Shelley pulls Mattson to his feet after a while and goes for a brainbuster but Mattson manages to float down behind Shelley and drop him on his head with a high angle belly to back suplex and both men are down. They slowly get to their feet and the two men start exchanging punches then go to forearms and finally they start exchanging knife edge chops and Shelley gets the advantage and Mattson stops returning the chops. Shelley whips him into the ropes and drops him with a big back elbow then makes a cover and gets a two count. Shelley pulls Mattson to his feet and Mattson explodes with a european uppercut that rocks Shelley. He staggers forward and Mattson lifts him up and drops him with a TKO.

Mattson rolls to the outside and pull a table out from underneath the ring. He sets the table up next to the apron then climbs up onto the table and pulls Shelley through the ropes as he starts to get to his feet. Mattson grabs Shelley for a piledriver but Shelley reverses with a backbody drop that sends Mattson off the table and onto the gym floor hard. Shelley jumps off the table with an elbow drop onto Mattson then pulls him up onto the apron. Shelley grabs Mattson with a rear waistlock on the apron then picks him up and puts him through the table with a big german suplex. Shelley slowly gets to his feet then rolls Mattson into the ring. He makes a cocky cover and Mattson kicks out at two to the disbelief of Shelley and the crowd. Shelley walks around the ring looking at the crowd in disbelief. Then he pulls Mattson to his feet and goes for the shell shock but Mattson grabs the ropes and stays standing as Shelley slams to the mat. Mattson picks Shelley up by the hair then whips him into the corner and meets him with some big forearms then sets him on the top rope. Mattson turns around and grabs Shelley by the head and brings him down with an iconoclasm. Mattson puts his legs over Shelley’s arms then grabs his legs for the cover and gets the three count. The ref brings the belt in and gives it to Mattson who drops to his knees and clutches his hands together with the belt laying in front of him.

Patterson: “What an amazing show of durability by N8 Mattson! Shelley was trying to get some revenge for his friend Halo who Mattson beat with a german suplex off the apron through a table last month. Halo was out of the match not just for the three count but completely out of it after that move and Mattson after taking the same move not only kicked out but won the match!”

Guppie: “Not to mention all the other damage he took to his neck during that match. I don’t know if anybody in this building wasn’t amazed when Mattson kicked out of the german suplex and I know nobody could believe it when he came back and won the match.”

Patterson: “What an amazing match to end the show with! Fans be sure to check out smwawrestling.com for info on upcoming shows. For Brian Guppie, I’m Mike Patterson, thanks for watching.”
