Movies That Take Place in the Future

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

Star Trek First Contact

If you count them as action... which I tend not to. But "action freaks" also like Star Trek sometimes.

Total Recall

Predator 2 (It says it takes place in 1997, seeing how the film was released in what, 90, 91...)

Escape From New York

Escape From LA (Both take place 16 years after the year they are released)

Mad Max

Mad Max 2

The Time Machine (both versions)

...Where's all the love for Planet of the Apes?

To be picky, only one of the Back To The Future films took place in the future...

Escape From New York

Are they actually any good?

New York is, LA is more or less the same exact thing as NY only with different actors and set in the ruins of Los Angeles.

New York is awesome though. Kurt Russell, Donald Pleasence, Lee Van Cleeft, Issac Hayes, Ernest Borgnine, Harry Dean Stanton....

LA only really had Russell, Pam Grier and Steve Buscemi.

Blade Runner.

Battle Royale.

And anything bastardised from Aasimov (sp?) - ie: iRobot, and Bicentennial Man for the kids.

Poor old Planet of the Apes, such a terrible remake. It was on channel 4 the other week, with the trailer claiming it was "from the imagination of Tim Burton."

Yes, it was really imaginative how he nicked the concept and fucked it up.
