Newswire For the Week of February 11th!!!

2/12/06

ROH

February 12th: On Saturday Night we saw our ROH Champion, Bryan Danielson defeat CZW scum, Necro Butcher. Now the CZW fans are complaining on how we are such a Pure Wrestling Company. Well you know what; our Champion went against one of the most Hardcore Wrestler on the planet. So Danielson did what Necro liked best, get hardcore. And in the end it hurt not only Necro, but Hero, Claudio and Super Dragon as ROH was standing tall at the end of the night!

February 12th: Now the next show set for Ring of Honor is the Fourth Anniversary Show! Bryan Danielson is set to face the second CZW man from the winning team from the Trios Tournament in Chris Hero. Just like at Anythings Possible, Hero will again come out the loser. And just a note to everyone, anyone who tries to come out and mess up this Match between Danielson and Hero, the ROH locker room will clear and kill you!

February 13th: After a huge first victory for AJ Styles and Matt Sydal, they are ready to go big so they have petitioned in to be in the huge Four Team Tag Match at the Anniversary Show. It has been accepted so that means now it will be the returning, Briscoe Brothers against Irish Airborne and against AJ Styles and Matt Sydal.

February 13th: Homicide is also set to return from his injury at the Fourth Anniversary Show as he will face his enemy in Colt Cabana in a Fight Without Honor Match. This means that there are no Ring of Honor rules to follow so the two men just fight until there is a winner.

February 13th: Also, at Ring of Hardcore the Match between Samoa Joe, Jay Lethal and Christopher Daniels has been announced. Since what happened with Joe and Lethal at the show and since Daniels can’t get anymore Singles Matches, it turned into a Three Way Dance.

February 13th: There is some bad news though for ROH as Nigel McGuinness was set to defend his Pure Title at the Anniversary Show against Doug Williams, but Doug has sustained a leg injury while working at another Indy Promotion in the US over the weekend. We are sorry to everyone who wanted to see this Match, but we will make it up with a very good opponent for Nigel.

February 14th: Austin Aries and Roderick Strong made an apology to their stable mate Jack Evans for not coming out and helping him in his Match against Super Dragon. So in return, Aries and Strong sent a challenge out to any CZW Superstars. Chris Hero quickly responded back saying that at the Anniversary Show, Necro Butcher and Super Dragon will be ready to take the ROH Tag Team Titles.

February 14th: Staying on the subject with the ROH Tag Team Champions. If they are still Champions past the Anniversary Show. When ROH return to Philadelphia on March 11th, they will face the winners of the huge Four Team Tag Match at the Anniversary Show!

February 15th: The final team has been announced for the huge Four Team Tag Match at the Fourth Anniversary Show. It will be the returning, Briscoe Brothers facing Irish Airborne, AJ Styles and Matt Sydal and The Embassy of Jimmy Rave and Alex Shelley. Nana said that his men will win this Match so they will have an extra Title Match just incase they mess up on one of them.

February 15th: On March 11th, Italian’s Finest will get their last shot at Milano Collection AT as Milano will face off against Sal Rinauro. At Ring of Hardcore Milano defeated Mamaluke. Now this will end everything between these men as the stipulation for the Match between Milano and Sal will be a Loser Leaves Town Match. So if Rinauro loses him and his partner, Mamaluke will both leave ROH.

February 15th: If Nigel McGuinness retains his Pure Title at the Fourth Anniversary Show against an opponents still yet to be named, then he will be facing Ace Steel for the last time on March 11th as the last time Steel faced Nigel, he got screwed by Chad Collyer.

February 16th: Today we have huge news for all of you ROH fans. First we have to announce is the last Match that KENTA will be involved in when he returns to ROH. On March 30th in Berwyn, Illinois, KENTA will be facing off against Samoa Joe and Bryan Danielson in a Non-Title Match! Then on April 1st in Chicago Ridge, Illinois, KENTA will be facing Bryan Danielson or whoever the ROH Heavyweight Champion is at the time for the Title! Finally, on March 31st in Chicago Ridge, Illinois, KENTA will be facing AJ STYLES in a Dream Match! Be sure not to miss this weekend as every night is packed with action with KENTA!

February 16th: The other big news for today is who Nigel McGuinness will be facing at the Fourth Anniversary Show. He was supposed to face Doug Williams, but he has sustained a leg injury. So for one night only, ROCKY ROMERO will be returning to ROH to face Nigel McGuinness with the Pure Title on the line!

February 16th: Be sure to check out next weeks Newswire as it will be showing the rest of the packed Fourth Anniversary Card along with more Matches being announced for March 11th and other upcoming shows!

Newswire For the Week of February 19th!!!

2/20/06

ROH

February 20th: Ring of Honor’s Fourth Anniversary Show is just less then a week away. On the night we will see two of our Champions destroy CZW Superstars and crush their dreams in taking over ROH in any way possible.

February 20th: Just added to the exciting night this coming weekend, Ace Steel and Chad Collyer will battle it out to try and get out their hate for each other. Collyer is going to bring it hard to Steel so he won’t get another Title Shot at Nigel instead he could again.

February 21st: On March 11th in Philadelphia, there will be a huge Four Corner Survival SHIMMER Showcase Match. The four women that will be in this Match are ROH regulars, Allison Danger and Lacey along with Mercedes Martinez and Sara Del Ray. This should be great Women’s action for sure!

February 22nd: A huge announcement has just been made! Low-Ki will be making his return to Ring of Honor! Make sure to buy tickets now for ROH in New York on March 25th. Ring of Honor will return to the New Yorker Hotel as will Low-Ki. We thought Ki would be gone for a longer period of time, but Ki will be back on March 25th.

February 22nd: With our next show, the Fourth Anniversary Show, another huge Grudge Match has been signed. It will be Lacey leading Jimmy Jacobs to the ring to face BJ Whitmer. Lacey has said that she wants a win out of Jacobs or some big changes might happen quickly.

February 23rd: If Bryan Danielson makes it through Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli, he will then be awarded with a Tag Team Title Shot. That shot will come on March 31st if Dragon could win his next two defenses. Danielson is counting on two victories as he has already picked his partner and that Lizard Man is, Delirious!

February 23rd: One final Match has been announced for the Fourth Anniversary Show. It will be a special Four Corner Survival Match featuring Jack Evans, Ricky Reyes, Jimmy Yang and Delirious! All four men were booked for the show and what we did was throw them together in a Four Corner Survival Match which could steal the show.

February 24th: Only one day away until Ring of Honor’s Fourth Anniversary Show. This show will feature Bryan Danielson defending his Title against Chris Hero, Austin Aries and Roderick Strong defending their Titles against Necro Butcher and Super Dragon, and Nigel McGuinness defend his Title against the returning, Rocky Romero.

February 24th: Make sure you buy your last second tickets because you aren’t going to want to miss this historic night for Ring of Honor!

Fourth Anniversary Show

February 25th

Approximately 500 in Attendance

Inman Sports Club

Ring of Honor returned to Edison, NJ tonight, for Fourth Anniversary Show, which references to Ring of Honor’s fourth year being around on the Independent Scene. ROH started out as a real small company in February of 2002 and now has grown into the biggest Indy Promotion in the US.

Homicide was interviewed for a taped interview for the DVD. Homicide told everyone that tonight in the Fight Without Honor Match with Colt Cabana, Cabana will not leave the Match unless he is bleeding profusely as well as badly injured. He said that Cabana will need help out after the Match. Homicide finished by saying that this might as well be Cabana’s last Match ever!

Bryan Danielson was also interviewed for a taped interview for the DVD. Danielson basically said that no one can stop him, not even CZW Superstars. Dragon went on saying that he will beat Hero again because he is the Best Wrestler in the World. The ROH Champion finished up saying that tonight ROH will celebrated their anniversary with two successful defenses in the Heavyweight and Tag Titles against CZW Superstars.

Grudge Match

Ace Steel vs. Chad Collyer

This was a very good way to kick off the night in Ring of Honor’s Anniversary Show. Steel and Collyer have been feuding on and off on the shows they have been appearing in ROH. Steel got psychical right from the start to the finish. Collyer wanted to take Steel to the mat, but Steel wouldn’t let it happen as he was just in the mood for brawling to really entertain the crowd early on. Collyer tried to lock in the Texas Cloverleaf at the end of the Match, but Steel was able to quickly reach the ropes and get right up. Steel charged right at Collyer and nailed him with a huge Lariat and thought it was over, but Collyer was able to kick out! Steel then picked up Collyer up and finished him off this time with the Twist of Cain.

Ace Steel defeated Chad Collyer in 10:34

Four Corner Survival Match

Delirious vs. Jack Evans vs. Jimmy Yang vs. Ricky Reyes

This was a really entertaining Four Corner Survival Match with a bunch of comedy between Delirious, Evans and Yang, but Reyes was the one to always ruin the fun for the three other wrestlers and the fans. Reyes was the only man taking this Match serious early in the Match and is started to piss the three other guys off. So all of a sudden they went crazy and Delirious charged at Reyes in the corner and hit the Panic Attack, not once or twice, but three times to make Reyes fall to the mat. Yang then went up high and when Reyes got up Yang nailed him with the Yang Time. Evans finished him off with a huge 630 Corkscrew. In order of Evans, Yang and Delirious all tried to pin Reyes, but they always got broken up. Finally, when Reyes came back in the Match he cleared house until Yang ducked a huge Swinging Elbow by Reyes and hit him with a Superkick. Reyes got right back up though, but Yang came back charging and hit a Jumping Spinning Leg Lariat to get the win over Reyes without Delirious or Evans breaking the pin up.

Jimmy Yang defeated Delirious, Jack Evans and Ricky Reyes in 12:51

Jimmy Jacobs, followed by Lacey comes down to the ring ready for his Match against Whitmer. Before the Match though, Lacey wanted to say something. Lacey said that since now she only has one Angel left as Whitmer has betrayed her, she expects a lot from Jacobs. She finished up saying that if Jacobs doesn’t win tonight she will show Jimmy she wants a winner by taking Jacobs off the next few ROH Shows.

Grudge Match

BJ Whitmer vs. Jimmy Jacobs w/Lacey

Another good Match on this show, but not as good as the first two as of course there has to be some average Matches on every show. Jacobs really wanted a victory here as he wanted to make Lacey happy as well get back at Whitmer since he turned on him at Trios Tournament 2006. Jacobs started off strong making Lacey happy. Jacobs tried to end this Match early as he nailed Whitmer with a “Big” Boot and then a Spear! Jacobs then headed up high a nailed Whitmer with a huge Top Rope Senton. Jacobs signaled that the end was near, but it wasn’t even close. Jacobs went for the Contra Code, but Whitmer just tossed Jacobs right off as he was in mid-air. From there, Whitmer took total control for the rest of the Match. Whitmer soon enough ended the Match after a huge spot as he hit a Top Rope Wrist-Clutch Exploder also known as the Super Exploder 98’! Whitmer got the easy three after the move and this got Lacey furious.

BJ Whitmer defeated Jimmy Jacobs in 12:30

Down came Christopher Daniels as he was all ready for the big Three Way Dance between him, Jay Lethal and Samoa Joe. Daniels said something before the Match and said that tonight he will come out the victor as he was the one who requested for this Match. Daniels went on saying that since he wanted the Match, he will definitely win the Match no matter who he pins.

Three Way Dance

Christopher Daniels w/Allison Danger vs. Jay Lethal vs. Samoa Joe

This was a really amazing Match a big contender for the Match of the Night. All three men were really into this battle and wanted to come out with a big victory at Ring of Honor’s Anniversary Show. Joe started things off strong here giving combos to both men. He gave both Daniels and Lethal a chop to the back on the mat and then kicked them both in the back. Finally, he bounced against the ropes and came back jumping on both men with a huge Senton. The Match moved on, but Joe remained in control. Soon enough, Daniels and Lethal couldn’t take anymore and headed out of the ring, but Joe didn’t stop and flew over the top rope with a Tope crashing down on both Daniels and Lethal. Joe then set up Daniels on the barricade for the Ole Kick, but right before Joe charged, Lethal took him out with a Chop Block. At this point in the Match it was Lethal’s turn to have advantage. He didn’t have to much time as he soon couldn’t take on two men. He was able to take down Joe with a bunch of European Uppercuts and then a Diving Headbutt. Then when he went for Daniels, he got nailed with the Fall From Grace. Joe then attacked Daniels when he got up, but Daniels was able to dodge Joe and toss him out of the ring. Daniels then hit the Best Moonsault Ever on Lethal, but it just wasn’t enough. So Lethal then got up and Daniels snuck up behind him and hit a huge Blue Thunder Bomb and that was able to put Lethal away with Joe still down on the outside.

Christopher Daniels defeated Jay Lethal and Samoa Joe in 14:33

Colt Cabana comes out to the ring with a folded up piece of paper. He opens it up and it’s a drawing of the city of Chicago and Cabana tapes it to the ropes near the entrance ramp so almost everyone can see it. Cabana then sets a table up in the ring and puts a chair on each side. He calls down Homicide, but there is no answer. Cabana is confused, but goes on talking saying that he is having Good Times, Great Memories in the ring! He wanted Homicide as his guest, but he wouldn’t come down. So finally, after Cabana kept on talking about Homicide, the sirens went off and the fans started banging and clapping to the beat. Homicide was no where to be found though at the entrance as Cabana was standing in the ring confused. All of a sudden from the crowd came Homicide and he slipped in the ring behind Cabana and folded up Cabana’s chair and nailed it over the back of Cabana to start the Fight Without Honor Match.

Fight Without Honor

Colt Cabana vs. Homicide w/Julius Smokes

One word describes this Match to its entire, DANGEROUS!!! Colt Cabana and Homicide really put their bodies on the line in this Match and this was definitely the most entertaining Match of the Night, maybe not overall Match of the Night though. Like stated, the Match started with Homicide attacking Cabana from behind. Homicide was able to bust open Cabana early as he was getting sick and tired of Cabana keep on getting up from big moves by Homicide, so Homicide took out with Ghetto Fork. He stabbed Cabana right in the forehead and then scrapped it across him until he started bleeding down his face. The Match then really got hardcore as Homicide got out of the ring and threw in a bunch of chairs and slid in a few tables as well as making Smokes set a few up on the outside. Homicide then got back in the ring, but Cabana went crazy and picked up every chair and started throwing them at Homicide until he just fell out of the ring. Cabana followed him and took him into the crowd. Cabana then got the fans involved and called for them to toss him chairs. Cabana then tossed the chairs into the face of Homicide. Homicide fought back though a little after when they were back at ringside. Homicide then tried to kill Cabana as he went for the Cop Killa on the outside, but Cabana reversed it by spinning around Homicide and throwing Homicide over him with a German Suplex. Homicide ended up crashing through a set up table to make the crowd erupt! The finish then came in the ring though after both men were bloodied (Cabana much more) and Cabana went for a Lariat on Homicide, but Homicide ducked it and hit a Lariat of his own! Homicide wasn’t done though as he nailed a Powerbomb then on Cabana onto chairs breaking them. Homicide continued the attack and finally finished it off with a Top Rope Ace Crusher making both men crash through the table really knocking out Cabana and giving Homicide the victory.

Homicide defeated Colt Cabana in 18:21

It was now time for Intermission as there was so much carnage to fix. While everything was getting cleared up, Cabana was still down and out on the mat. Out came Ace Steel along with other ROH Students who helped the bloody and battered Cabana up and out of the ring. Homicide did exactly what he said he would do.

After everything was cleared up, Bobby Cruise got his words in like always during Intermission. Cruise said that on May 13th, Ring of Honor will return to Edison, New Jersey to complete the Double Shot Weekend. Cruise then hyped the rest of the card for tonight and then the card so far announced for March 11th in Philadelphia, PA.

After Intermission ended, down came Nigel McGuinness ready for his Pure Title Match. Romero then came down to a decent pop and Sinclair went on with the rules. Nigel cut off Sinclair though and said that if Romero thought he was going to return to ROH and win the Pure Title, he was wrong because he was going against, in Bryan Danielson’s words, “The Best Wrestler in the World.”

ROH Pure Title Match

Nigel McGuinness © vs. Rocky Romero

This was a very good Match between Nigel and Romero. This really got the crowd kicking again as Romero was so impressive and like always was Nigel. Early on in the Match, Romero had total control. Romero was just rolling pumping up the crowd. Romero didn’t even fall for Nigel’s corner headstand or his flipping bounce back off the ropes. The turn around in the Match happened though when Romero went for a Tornado DDT, but while spinning, Nigel tossed Romero off of him and all the way out of the ring. This turned everything around as Nigel was able to take control. Nigel had control for mainly the rest of the Match, but he couldn’t find a way to finish Romero off. The surprise ending came when Romero starting getting control again and threw Nigel to the corner, but Nigel did the headstand again, but this time got Romero when he charged. Nigel then jumped down behind Romero and hit a quick Lungblower to put Romero away.

Nigel McGuinness defeated Rocky Romero in 16:41 and makes defense number 9 of his ROH Pure Title

Austin Aries and Roderick Strong, all ready for their big Match against Necro Butcher and Super Dragon, came down to the ring ready then ever. Aries wanted to get a few words in, but before he could, from the crowd came Super Dragon and Necro Butcher with chairs. They got in the ring and cracked chairs over the Tag Champions backs to get a cheap head start to this Tag Title Match.

ROH Tag Team Titles Match

Austin Aries and Roderick Strong © vs. Necro Butcher and Super Dragon w/Claudio Castagnoli

This was a pretty good Match even though it wasn’t that long because of the surprise quick ending. Necro and Super Dragon had the early advantage because of the cheap way to start the Match. They mainly dominated the whole Match with at all different times faking a weapon attack. Paul Turned said it was enough and if they actually did use a weapon, they would get DQ’d right away. As the Match quickly came to a finish, the Tag Champions started to fight back and took control. Austin Aries was looking to finish off Super Dragon with a 450 Splash, but Necro came out of nowhere with a chair nailing Aries off of the top rope. The ref immediately called for the bell, but Necro and Super Dragon didn’t really care that they lost.

Austin Aries and Roderick Strong defeated Necro Butcher and Super Dragon in 11:16 by disqualification and makes defense number 2 of their ROH Tag Team Titles

Chris Hero came down to the ring after the Tag Title Match and got on the mike saying a few words. Hero said that Super Dragon and Necro Butcher might have came up short, but they didn’t need to worry as the ROH Heavyweight Title will come to CZW. This got the crowd rallied up to finally hear “The Final Countdown” to see the appearance of Bryan Danielson.

ROH Heavyweight Title Match

Bryan Danielson © vs. Chris Hero w/Claudio Castagnoli, Necro Butcher and Super Dragon

Like their previous encounter, Chris Hero and Bryan Danielson gave it their all and wouldn’t give up. Not giving up meant that they wouldn’t submit or take a pinfall and that are what both men did, not take either of those. The start of the Match saw dominance from the ROH Champion, Bryan Danielson to get the crowd back into it and shut up Hero and his men. Hero quickly fought back though and went with Danielson’s styles by taking Dragon to the mat. The Match moved along pretty quickly with a lot of great holds, but the huge turn for the worst in this Match happened when Dragon went up high on the turnbuckle and went to fly, but Claudio Castagnoli pushed him off making Dragon crash to the outside. Hero then distracted the ref at this point allowing Super Dragon, Necro Butcher and Claudio Castagnoli to beat down Danielson. Finally, the ref tuned around and found out what was happening and stopped the three men beat down Dragon by saying that Hero would get DQ’d. That didn’t work though as the beat down continued and the ref started to count to five for let them to break it up. Before Kehner could DQ Hero, down ran Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, Jack Evans, and Samoa Joe. They all brawled with Super Dragon, Necro and Claudio through the crowd and finally outside the arena getting them out of the Match for good. When Dragon finally got back in the ring, Hero went and locked in a Cattle Mutilation of his own in, but Dragon was able to stand back up and turn around and hit a Dragon Suplex on Hero. Dragon then went for the Cattle Mutilation himself, but Hero stood up as well. Dragon stayed back in control though as he just grabbed the head of Hero and just started to give thunderous elbows to Hero. The ref asked Hero if he wanted to continue and he did. Dragon broke away and came back with a Roaring Elbow. Dragon again then took Hero’s head and hit the elbow’s again, but this time wouldn’t stop. The crowd was going crazy and finally Kehner saw enough and called for the bell to give Dragon a cheap victory which he didn’t want to do as he wanted to try and be as fair as possible.

Bryan Danielson defeated Chris Hero in 25:22 and makes defense number 12 of his ROH World Heavyweight Title

Four Corner Tag Team Survival Elimination Match

AJ Styles and Matt Sydal vs. The Embassy (Alex Shelley and Jimmy Rave) w/Daizee Haze and Prince Nana vs. Irish Airborne (Dave and Jake Crist) vs. The Returning, Briscoe Brothers (Jay and Mark Briscoe)

One word describes this Match, INCREDIBLE! Every single team fought their heart out as everyone wanted a Tag Title Match at the next show. The crowd was basically on their feet the whole time. This lasted a whole 30 minutes, but amazingly we didn’t see our first elimination until the 15 minute mark. The first team that were eliminated were Jake and Dave Crist of the Irish Airborne. Jake was on the outside at the time Mark Briscoe flew nearly taking out everyone in the Match with a Shooting Star Press. While this happened, only Jimmy Rave and Dave Crist were in the ring and Rave was able to hit the Greetings From Ghana on Dave to eliminate the Irish Airborne, making the team to eliminate them, The Embassy. Now it was own to three teams and the next elimination came just about a few minutes after the first. AJ Styles and Matt Sydal were clearing house, but all of a sudden they missed a charged at the Briscoe’s and the Brothers capitalized by taking Sydal and Styles out with Dropkicks. Mark then nailed Styles with an Ace Crusher making him roll towards the corner. Jay then flew at Sydal with a Yakuza Kick. Mark then lifted Sydal up looking like he was going for the Cut Throat Suplex, but Jay went up high and they hit a great combo with a Cut Throat Suplex/Leg Drop eliminating AJ Styles and Matt Sydal. It was now down to The Embassy and The Briscoe Brothers. Everyone in the crowd was for Jay and Mark, but these last 10 minutes of the Match, Rave and Shelley controlled. Everyone though they had the Match won making them have two Title Matches on back to back shows, but everyone thought wrong because out of nowhere Jay hit a huge Yakuza Kick on Alex Shelley. Rave then tried to sneak up behind, but Jay got him with one two. Then Jay and Mark dominated the last few seconds with Mark hitting Shelley with a Cut Throat Suplex and Jay hitting Rave with a J-Driller. The Briscoe’s then threw Rave out of the ring right to Haze and Nana’s feet. They then teamed up on Shelley hitting the Double Team Spike J-Driller putting him away and letting The Returning, Briscoe Brothers win the amazing Match. They celebrated in the ring after the Match and are just so happy they are back and already get a Match for the Tag Team Titles.

The Briscoe Brothers defeated Irish Airborne, AJ Styles and Matt Sydal and The Embassy in 30:08

I agree, this diary is damn good. But I've gotta ask... Where/How/What Program are you using to use the show results at the bottom of your post, with the whole grade ratings, that shit is cool.
