I've just got WEX and it is awesome.

The reffs are a lot better, the World cup mode is amazing, the official kits are superb and the game flows a lot better than it used to.

I've taken a couple of pictures with my phone of England..

Is there much actual difference to the game modes, number of teams, etc etc?

More teams will be available as well as more licenses. But don't expect new game modes. Altough Master League will be improved as usual.

Depending how good the DS version is, I might get that instead of getting it on the PS2. Wi-Fi ftw.

- stupid calls will be decreased with better use of the advantage rule

- players will be able to adjust the ref's settings to their liking

- new skills including Matthews Feint

fouling/carding system has improved and referees make more logical/appropriate decisions

Indoors... An indoor arena added to the game.

On The Touchline... Coaches and substitutes visible on the bench.

Pffft theres no 11 vs 11. There's no way that'd work. You can't have someone play as the goalie, they'd just bored then you'd see them running up the pitch. Then everyone'd be like "LOL WTF are you doing?" and he'd say "I'm bored, i'm gonna go score."

I can remember the older games that let you control the keepers, it was actually pretty badass if you were any good.

I remember FIFA '95 doing that, and the results weren't all that bad -- again, that was in a simpler age of gaming, however.

I can't remember what it was called but there was a game on the Sega Saturn, it was somewhat of a prequel to Sega Worldwide Soccer (Brilliant game) in the way that it used the same engine but more basic and you could control keepers, it was excellent but sadly was one of those games that usually inhabited the bargain bins (like most Saturn games).

That game came with Virtua fighter and Daytuna Usa when I bought my Saturn.Needless to say, it became my favourite until i bought Dragon Ball

European Cup Soccer and Kick Off were excellent games. Italia 90 pailed in insignificance next to those giants of megadrive gaming.

Yes, it's a lot better, you can now actually shove players out of the way. I've not tried adjusting the referee so I have no idea on that. I like at the beggining of each match, it tells you the ref's name and where he is from..maybe it will sway his decisions

No idea, the version I have is only 70% English.

No more Yellow/Red cars for a shoulder barge on the halfway line. Mucho better.

The world cup mode is awesome.

I'm Sweden, in a group with Isreal, Germany and Turkey. After a 3 match winning start, a just drew 0-0 with the Isrealies, leaving the group undecided.

I just noticed something, I played Nippon Challenge and I faced Iraq and North Korea. I wonder if there is unlockables as well as the shop in the game.
