Can't be arsed to order them but...

Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), Freddie Mercury (Queen), Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day), Matt Bellamy (Muse), Justin Hawkins (The Darkness), Anthony Kiedis (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), Paul Rogers (Free, Bad Company).

CAn't think of any others off the top of my head.

I'm a huge Cornell fan, but I don't think he's anywhere near the top ten frontmen of all time. He's my favourite vocals, but frontman is more than that, in my opinion. People like Axl Rose are what I think of by frontmen, people who are literally at the front of the music, over the top character type stuff. Admittedly I wasn't around during Soundgardens heyday, but to me he's part of the greater whole.

Eh, I might be missing the point, but thats my take on it.

I tend to take in several factors, which would still mean Cornell would get close, if not into the Top Ten. Talent, which he has in excess, IMO, Presence, which he does sort of lack, from what I've seen, and I guess 'Gimmick' is sort of the other category. For example, Gene Simmons has his fire, and his blood, and his greasepaint that makes him stand out, whereas (from what I've seen) Trent is very dark, into the music, really giving it his all, (nearly) every time. Cornell sort of has this too, with his whole 'Sex Appeal' thing going on. From what I know anyway. So he's probably more likely to get close then actually get in. Number eleven, or twelve, or something.

That's a pretty nice list, funny to see G.G. Allin and Iggy Pop as the book ends, seeing as how Iggy was a partial influence for G.G.
