I don't buy online, and I have yet to see it anywhere since. So pretty much I have had no opportunity to get it.

Well, from what I have seen, Disgaea 1 is selling for around a $100 on ebay so if you can pick it up for $50, I say go for it.

Storyline wise, D1 is in no way related from D2 but there are some characters that crossover. It won't affect you understanding the D2 storyline, but it is more of a "Hey, that person was in D1!" feeling.

Yeah, the game is out of print and it is selling like hotcakes on ebay. I think that they might have done a reprint but I am not sure.

In any case, that game is worth some $$$$$$. Hold onto it if you get it.

Can anyone explain to me why everything I'm seeing every part of the game in colour EXCEPT for the opening video/anime trailer/video parts?

Edit: And on that note, it's been ages since I've seen that Disgaea anime trailer. I'd almost forgotten what a mind-boggling pile of stomach-wrenching, vomit-inducing trash it was.
