I just got an iPod alarm clock, and I wanna make a playlist of songs that are good, will wake me up (i.e. that aren't too quiet) and that won't make me fall out of bed and break my neck.

All suggestions are welcome.

Any songs you've heard a zillion times, even though they really aren't that good, and you're absolutely sick of hearing them. So when you do hear them, you're filled with a sense of pain and loathing which gets you out of bed to turn the alarm clock off.

That's why my radio alarm clock is set to a classic rock station. ^_^

I wake up to 'Sweetness' by Jimmy Eat World every morning.

It works really well and, I believe, has a positive effect on my mentality in the morning.

Marvin Gaye - Sexual Healing

It's just the start, "Baaaaabbbyyyyy".

"Leave Me Alone" by Razorlight

Works like a charm. Peaceful piano, then "BOOM" a sweet, exciting riff. It's like the start of a Season 1 OC episode. :shifty:

Plus it's a song you can have a bit 'dance around' to.

Rather than waking up to something soft, I prefer waking up to heavier music with a sudden start rather than a buildup. My favorites would probably be:

All That Remains - This Calling

Spineshank - Synthetic

Silent Civilian - Rebirth Of The Temple

Bone Thugs N' Harmony featuring 2Pac - "Thug Luv" is perfect to wake you up IMO. Nothing like some gun shots to get your heart pumping and going for the rest of the day.
