I rented this movie from Blockbuster the other day and after watching it I am as confused as hell. Can someone explain the ending to me? I don't know how many people have seen this movie but I hope one can answer.

Donnie is given the chance to control fate. He was supposed to die when the jet engine fell through his roof, but went sleepwalking with the guidance of Frank. Donnie finds out that if he hadn't died when the engine fell through his house, his family and his soulmate Grechen. He chooses to die and to let his family and Grechen live.
