FF7 remake?

The rumours have been flying round that we could be seeing the announcement of the long awaited PS3 Final Fantasy 7 remake after Square Enix ut up a countdown website.

It can be found HERE.

Originally, it stated "VII DAYS" - so we'll find out more on August 7, next Friday.

Until then, discuss and enter into wild speculation.

Well it's cool that they're remaking this. I had this game when I was 5, didn't understand the whole fucking thing and yet managed to get to the second level somehow. Might pick it up just to play through it better than I could have done at the age of five.

The first pic kind of looks like Necron from FFIX. The second looks like a monster version of FF8's Ragnarok.

Maybe it's hinting at a rerelease of 8 and 9 over PSN? >_>

Possibly something to do with their console version of Lords of Vermillion, Lords of Arcana. They've also got something called Gyromancer trademarked.
