CAVALIER WRESTLING REPORT

ISSUE 33 JULY, 2, 1991

Prime Time Wrestling Recap for 7/1/1991

by Deion Porter

The show started of with the former WWF Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys with Jimmy Hart taking on Barry Hardy and The Italian Stallion. This was the Nasty's first apperance since losing the titles but it didn't show as they made short work of their opponents as Saggs pinned Hardy after the Pit Stop to get the victory. The announcers announced after the match that The Nasty's have used their rematch clause and will get a shot to get the titles at The Saturday Night Main Event.

Slick made his way to the ring, he was in a more happier mood then he usually was. Slick got on the mic, he said times have been very good since he got Yokozuna but things were gonna get better because he has a new client to debut, Slick hyped him up as a man who has destroyed anyone or thing in his path, he was a dominant football player and has won titles over the world, out came a big muscular black man who Slick called "The Alpha Male" (Ron Simmons).

The pair stayed in the ring as Slick challenged anyone from the back to take on The Alpha Male, out came Samba Simba. Simba is a strong man himself but The Alpha Male dominated as he picked up a win on his debut following a vicious looking Spinebuster.

Tito Santana was in action against General Adnan who was with Col. Mustafa, noticeably missing was Sgt. Slaughter, it's been reported that Mustafa nor Adnan have heard or seem Slaughter since his loss at the King of The Ring. The match was very short as Santana won following the Flying Forearm. While celebrating The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase came to the ring and blindsided Santana, after the attack was finished DiBiase slipped a roll of money in the mouth of Santana.

Another man made his WWF debut as Brian Pillman took on Todd Becker. The announcers hyped Pillman up as one of the most exciting young wrestlers in the world. Pillman did impress as he won the match following a top rope move that was called Air Pillman.

Pre-Record comments made by King Rick Martel were shown. As usual Martel was with Tammy. Martel spoke on the fact he is the King of the WWF and has held every title except for one, the WWF World Title. Martel demanded to the his winning of the KOTR a Title shot from WWF Champion Hulk Hogan at the upcoming Saturday Night Main Event.

The third debut of the night was made was Jeff Jarrett faced Koko B. Ware. Jarrett looked to be a cocky kid and the annoucers told how he's been a part of wrestling all of his life. The veteran Koko didn't just roll over for the youngster and made it interesting, but it wasn't enough as Jarrett won the match with a move called the Stroke.

WWF President Rowdy Roddy Piper made his way to the ring. It was time for his major annoucement and it didn't dissapoint. Piper announced the reinstatement of the Macho Man Randy Savage. Savage along with Elizabeth came out to the great response. Everything was going smoothly until Ravishing Rick Rude made his way to the ring. Rude said he could care less about Savage's return and said the only positive was the Elizabeth would be around. This ticked Savage off and he exploded into Rude, Rude being in active condition took advantage of Savage not being in the ring for a while and knocked Savage out with the Rude Awakening and posed over Savage until officials got him out of the ring.

Mr. Fuji led two of his men Muta and Kato out for a tag match. Their opponents for the night was the team of Ricky the Dragon and Owen Hart. The match was a good contest as all four men were quick and they could wrestle which led to an exciting made that was won when Steamboat pinned Kato following the Flying Cross Body.

WWF Intercontinental Champion Bret The Hitman Hart was backstage with Mean Gene Okerlund. Hart would face Perfect in a non-title match tonight. Okerlund asked Hart if he would accept Perfect's request that the winner gets to pick the stipluation for their title rematch, Hart accepted.

The main event for the night was Perfect versus Hart. Perfect looked a bit akward without that title around his waist. The match was a great contest that went back and forth and the ending of the match displayed this back and forth match. Hart came off the rope with a cross body, in which Perfect used Hart's own momentum against and reversed the move to cover Hart for the three count.

Great updates, I like the idea of Martel going after Hogan except you said he held every title except the WWF, I don't think Martel was ever a Intercontinental Champion. Speaking of the IC title, I'd like to see Bret beat Perfect and then putting Perfect up against Hulk and Martel against Bret. I'm sure we'll see a Slaughter face turn soon or a swerve with him staying a heel. Don't know yet. He could be a anti American except without supporting Iraq. Savage being back is great and a feud between him and Rude should be kick ass. Keep up the awesome stuff man :D

CAVALIER WRESTLING REPORT ISSUE 35, JULY, 9, 1991

Prime Time Wrestling Recap for 7/8/1991

by Maurice Porter

PTW kicked off with Barry Hardy in the ring, his opponent for the night was The Alpha Male Ron Simmons with Slick. After two of three high impact moves Simmons picked up the victory following the Spinebuster.

Pre-Recorded comments by Ravishing Rick Rude were shown. He said he had no remorse for attacking Macho Man Randy Savage last week, he said he really doesn't care too much for Savage and his only interest with Savage isn't even Savage, it's Miss Elizabeth. Rude went on to challenge Savage to a tag match at Saturday Night Main Event, Rude says he's already got a partner, his longtime friend Mr. Perfect.

Jamie Magnum was the next victum in line for The Undertaker, Paul Bearer led him to the ring and to be honest that took longer then the actual match, some choking and a big clothesline was followed up by the Tombstone Piledriver and a cover for three which gave Taker the victory.

All-American Bob Backlund was in action against Smash of Demoliton with Mr. Fuji. Smash would be the first Demolition man in singles action tonight as Crush would be in action later in the night. Smash could of used his partner as Backlund made him submit to the Chicken Wing.

Slick led another client down to the ring as one half of Power and Glory Paul Roma was in action, Slick was in a good mood due to the fact this was a chance at some gold. WWF Intercontinental Champion Bret The Hitman Hart made his way to the ring for his first title defense. Hart was successful in his debut title defense as he made Roma submit to the Sharpshooter.

Sensational Sherri led The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase into action against Hillbilly Jim. Jim got some offense in with his power but DiBiase continued has good streak of victories as he was able to lock on the Million Dollar Dream to make Jim submit.

Jimmy Hart had a plan to soften The Legion of Doom up, Dino Bravo and The Mountie were enlisted for this job. For a first time team the two men did a good job but the WWF Tag Team Champions overcame it and won the match following the Doomsday Device. After the match the Nasty Boys ran down to the ring and it became a 4 on 2 assualt on L.O.D until The Big Bossman made his way to the ring and cleared everyone out with help from the nightstick.

Mean Gene Okerlund was backstage with Macho Man Randy Savage, he asked him about Rude challenge and Savage said yes. When asked about who his partner would be Savage wasted no time in answering, he said his partner would be Bret Hart.

Ricky The Dragon Steamboat was in action, he faced a stiff challenge as he took on The Barbarian. Barbarian dominated a good portion of the match as he threw Steamboat around at will, Steamboat is a resillent as the come and he showed this as he found a way to win the match with a roll-up.

WWF Champion Hulk Hogan with backstage with Okerlund, Hogan said he would accept The Model Rick Martel's challenge and defend the WWF Title against Martel at the SNME.

The main event put Hogan against Crush of Demolition with Mr. Fuji. Crush showed some flashes of being a decent singles wrestler but that wasn't enough as Hogan came back in the end and got the win with the Legdrop. While celebrating Martel came out from the ring and gave a sarcastic clap of the hands and then made the motion of the title around his waist.

Hart/Savage Vs. Rude/Perfect would have been such a fucking awesome match up, I wish Hogan would lose or not squash Martel but that would be unrealistic. Sucks for Martel though :(

I did like the fact that Demolition were in singles action. Maybe making them look tough against opponents in singles action wouldn't make the combination of Smash/Crush seem like a joke like it was in real life. Keep up the good work man, Looking forward to reading more.

Good shows. Savage/Hart vs Rude/Perfect should be good. I like the motive of Rude going after Elizabeth. I hope she gets more involved in the storyline. I hope you keep Demolition in tact and build them back up as a force. I do think, though, that Crush could be a good singles star and maybe could even keep the Demolition gimmick.

CAVALIER WRESTLING REPORT ISSUE 37 JULY, 16, 1991

Prime Time Wrestling Recap for 7/16/1991

by Andy Powell

PTW kicked off with the doctor of style Slick leading the biggest man in the World Wrestling Federation, Yokozuna into action. The unlucky sucka that had to face Yoko was Kent Carlson. Yoko squashed him and I mean squashed as he picked up the victory following the Banzai Drop.

After the match Mr. Fuji came down to the ring with a briefcase in hand. Fuji got into the ring as both managers shook hands and Fuji handed him the briefcase, Slick opened it and a wad of cash was in it, Slick got on the mic and said he sold the contract of Yokozuna to Mr. Fuji for a large sum of money, he said this was win win because Fuji got Yoko and Slick got a ton of money that will pay dividens in the long run.

Pre-recprd comments from Mr. Perfect and Ravishing Rick Rude were shown. The duo said that Bret hart and Randy Savage had no chance against them at the Saturday Night Main Event because this was the perfect team.

Jake The Snake Roberts was up next, over the past weeks someone had been playing head games with the head games master as after Roberts matches the music of The Ultimate Warrior has been playing. Barry Hardy was the opponent and Jake wasted no time as he picked up the victory following the DDT.

Jimmy Hart, The Nasty Boys and The Mountie came down to the ring for an interview with Sean Mooney. Hart said at SNME The Nasty Boys will get their titles back and to ensure that The Mountie will be in their corner. The music of the WWF Tag Team Champions hit and L.O.D came out. They said that's fine because they'll have a man in their and that will be The Big Bossman.

After the commerical break Jimmy Hart and co went to the back as L.O.D had a match against Haku and The Barbarian. Haku and The Barbarian held their own against the champs but it wasn't enough in the end as L.O.D finished of Haku with the Dommsday Device.

Mean Gene Okerlund was backstage with WWF Intercontinental Champion Bret The Hitman and The Macho Man Randy Savage. Hart said he can't wait to team with Savage as it will be an honor to team with Savage. Savage said likewise and he can't wait to get his hands on Rick Rude. When asked if Elizabeth will be at ringside Savage yes and if Rude tries something Savage will end his career on the spot.

General Adnan and Colonel Mustafa made their way to the ring. They called out Sgt. Slaughter. Slaughter came out and they let into saying he's a disgrace to Iraq and so on. Slaughter took as much as he could and let into Adnan, Mustafa jumped him before behind and it was a 2 on 1 before All American Bob Backlund came out, Backlund and Slaughter united as they cleared the ring.

Mr. Fuji led Tanaka into singles action against Ricky Steamboat. This would be a preview as these two men will be part of a big six man tag match at the SNME. The match was a solid contest as Steamboat came out victorious in the end with a Flying Cross Body.

Hulk Hogan was backstage with Okerlund. Hogan talked about his upcoming title defense against Rick Martel. Hogan said Martel is a great athlete and has been on quite a roll but that won't last as he's coming against the most powerful force in the universe, Hulkamania.

Hogan was in the main event as usual, tonight he took on The Mountie who was with Jimmy Hart. Believe it or not this was a pretty good match (The Mountie got a good match out of Hogan) Hogan came out on top as he hit the Legdrop to pick up the victory. While celebrating Rick Martel ran to the ring and waffled Hogan with a vicious chair shot. Martel locked on The Boston Crab and only let go any numerous officials forced him to.

Backlund/Slaughter seems like a decent team, I'm looking forward on seeing how you'll get the fans behind Slaughter since he basically trashed America for months. I like Fuji with Yokozuna, I always thought he and Yokozuna went well together. Surprised Mountie got a good match out of the Hulkster. Martel/Hogan should be decent but sadly I don't see Rick getting the gold.

Here's my predictions

Saturday Night Main Event

Hulk Hogan©

Ravishing Rick Rude & Mr. Perfect

Ricky The Dragon Steamboat & The New Foundation

Good show. Yoko and Fuji are a better fit than Slick I think. I hope the Roberts and Warrior feud really gets off the ground soon.

SNME Predictions:

Hogan (but I hope the feud with Martel continues)

Rude and Perfect

Steamboat and New Foundation

Roberts

Warlord and Simmons

LOD

Really liking the Martel push, too bad he won't win the belt.

Predictions:

Hulk Hogan

- Unless this is one of the big PPV's Hogan wouldn't even think of dropping the belt (not that he would at one of those either)

Savage/Hart

- Tough one to call, but I think Savage will win it for Elizabeth in this one.

Muta/Orient Express

- Fuji interferes to give the Orients the duke.

Jake Roberts

- beats Tito, then we find out who's playing head games with him

Warlord/Simmons

- Simmons just debuted, and this team looks like they might be the next challengers to the LOD's Tag Belts

Legion of Doom

- LOD are not going to give the belts back a month after winning them from Saggs and Knobbs

WWF Title Match

Rick The Model Martel w/Tammy vs Hulk Hogan©

The King of the WWF along with Tammy are carried via throne to the ring. The fans are booing but Martel could care less, Martel gets into the ring as Tammy takes off his robe, his crown and takes his septor and his can of arrogance. The roof blows off the place as WWF Champion Hulk Hogan makes his way down to the ring. Martel jumps Hogan as soon as he gets in the ring, Martel puts some boots to Hogan and then slams him. Martel is proud and turns his back to Hogan and does some jumping jacks, however the slam had no effect on Hogan who got right back up. Hogan taps Martel on the shoulder, who turns around right into a right hand. Hogan sends Martel to the ropes and back body drops him. Martel gets back up on the ropes as Hogan clotheslines him over the top rope. Martel is angry and he comes back into the ring and gets in Hogans face and slaps him, Hogan doesn't like that and goes to slap Martel who runs and hides between the ropes. Martel slaps Hogan again and Hogan chases him out of the ring, just as Hogan is about to let Martel have it Martel puts Tammy infront of him. Hogan picks Tammy up by the waist and moves her out of the way, as Hogan turns around Martel gives him a thumb to the eye, Martel whips Hogan back first into the steel post. Martel rolls in the ring to break the count and rolls right back out of the ring, He picks Hogan up and sends him into the steel steps. After a scoop slam onto the mat Martel breaks the count again. Martel places Hogan on the railing and begins to ram his back into the railing. Martel rolls Hogan into the ring and covers him for a 2 count. Martel slams Hogan down and rolls him on his stomach, Martel comes off the rope with a knee drop to the back of Hogan. Martel comes back off the ropes and drops a forearm in the back of Hogan, Martel rolls him over for a cover that gets a 2 count. Tammy gets on the ring apron and starts talking to the referee, this allows Martel to pick up the can of arrogance and drive it into the back of Hogan, Martel throws it out of the ring and covers Hogan for another 2 count. Martel picks Hogan up and hits a backbreaker. Martel grabs Hogan by the tights and drives repeated forearms into the back of Hogan. As Martel sees the damage he has done to the back of Hogan he looks over at Tammy and says "it's over." Martel drags Hogan in the center of the ring and locks in the Boston Crab, Hogan is in severe pain and he has nowhere to go, as the fans get louder Martel sinches back on the hold even more. All of a sudden Hogan pushes up out of the hold and gets to his feet, Martel is in shock to say the least. Hogan hits a right hand, follows up with a 2nd and a 3rd, Hogan whips Martel off the ropes and hit the big boot, Hogan comes off the ropes and hits the Legdrop, he covers Martel for the 1,2,3 to retain his title. As Hogan celebrates the lights in the arena go off, when they come back on Hogan is down and The Undertaker is standing over him, Taker picks up Hogan and hits the Tombstone Piledriver on Hogan. Taker leaves as officials check on the condition of Hogan.

Good show, I liked the fact that LOD retained the titles. I think Warlord/Simmons will probably beat them since they're two hosses by gawd <_<

Savage/Rude is heating up and I can't wait for a singles match between them. It should be great. Undertaker/Hogan might blow for quality but the crowd will be into it which is way more important. I think Undertaker will win the WWF Championship at SummerSlam and drop it back to Hogan at Survivor Series. I don't see Hogan letting someone get the spotlight for too long.

Looking forward to the next update

Just to clear something up, I used Martel because Hogan needed a respectable opponent for a title defense and Martel after winning the KOTR fit the need, he held his own in the ring and didn't get sqaushed just some people may have worried about, I still have big plans for Martel.

The funny thing about The Undertaker-Hogan feud is Hogan didn't want to feud with him at first, Taker was like an 78 over, maybe an 80 and Hogan didn't want to do it. I'm glad he finally accepted but if he didn't I would have had to hire someone like Beefcake maybe to chance his stance.

Great show! Warlord and Simmons are a hoss of a team, and could work well together. I hope the Warrior/Roberts feud heats up. I like Savage/Rude and will be looking forward to their match. Im interested to see where you go with Martel and the Santana/Dibiase feud. And I hope Taker beats Hogan for the title.
