The Soaps Thread

Yeah, we've needed a thread like this for a while.

First off, who killed Archie Mitchell? Looking on Skybet, they have Ben Mitchell as 3/1 favourite. Yes, this guy:

You don't understand how much I'd love if it was Ben. Presumably he gave Archie a mean look and pirouetted into the darkness afterwards.

The shows live as well tomorrow. Decent chance of someone fluffing their lines on national television I think.

So it was the ghost of Mike Reid!

Watched it this morning, even though I'm a bit out of the loop in regards to anything besides "Emmerdale" at the minute. So it was Stacey...but her black friend fingered Bradley, so the police chased him, he fell off some shit (unfortunately not the train bridge...I thought it was law, if you fell off something on Eastenders it had to be the train bridge?) and is dead.

Queue storyline where Max will be proper pissed off at Stacey and try to clear Bradley's name, before coming to his 'senses'; she's going to be a mum, takes pity on her because he realises all Bradley wanted was to keep her safe...she has a boy and names it Bradley...the end.

Seriously though, a bit of a shitty ending. Granted, they had to get rid of one of Bradley/Stacey cos the way the relationship developed if they ended up with someone else while they were both around, it'd just be shit (am a big girl :shifty:), and they've done the be together/split up/be together/split up shit far too much, and nobody can steadily be together in soaps unless you're Jack and Vera (:(), so yeah, have to get rid of either Bradley and Stacey...and well, obviously they were gonna keep Stacey around; 1) she's fit, 2) he's ginger, 3) they've got that shitty bipolar stuff to fall back on and she can go mental again at the snap of fingers. But the whole thing just...felt shit to me...maybe cos I actually quite liked Bradley. :shifty:

Also, Nathan Wylde...biggest cunt on TV!

I aspire to reach his levels of cuntingdom.

We don't let people say the other racist term. Don't start using this one.

I guessed before the show that they would have Bradley get arrested and then Stacey would break down and admit to killing Archie to save Bradley. Didn't think they'd kill him off though. They do have a habit of killing off people when they are getting the most entertaining like Danielle when Ronnie had just found out the truth or Archie when his evil ways finally paid off.

Also, how great is it to see Gaffney back on Eastenders :w00t: . His "I suppose you've heard about Wellard then..." stuff was brilliant. And when he met Masood and said 'Namaste' as though thats the only thing he's learnt from living in India for the past few years. While we're on Masood, is his full name actually Masood Masood?!

I knew Bradley was leaving...and I doubted they'd have him be the one who killed Archie or take the fall for someone else (Stacey) because as I said before, the only way to really end their arc to allow Stacey to move on without people getting pissy/the character feeling guilty will be to kill him off.

And gotta love Dean Gaffney...he's a person whose name basically sums up exactly what he looks like...even if you'd never seen him before, I bet you could picture him purely on his name.
