I have no idea why, but I've suddenly started listening to Velvet Underground and the Beatles after like.... 11 months (Actually, about 7 years for the Beatles :P). Listen to these. Now.

White Light White Heat

1969: Velvet Underground Live, Vol. 1

OOOOH MY GODODODOD. I loved the original version, but I always found it just a wee bit too lo-fi, I lost concentration. Fairly easily. But this one is amazing. Not to mention the fact that it's 8 and a half minutes long instead of 2 and a half minutes long. Wow. Nice. Yeah. Anyway, It kicks ass, and because they were like um...unpopular in 1969 there's barely any crowd noise, so it sounds like a studio song. Yay.

Venus in Furs (Original John Cale demo version)

Loaded (Special Edition)

It's John Cale singing instead of Lou Reed, and is done solely on an acoustic guitar. It's easily the best folk song I've ever heard. Haunting...It's way more effective than the released version. How could this be relegated to be labelled as "A Demo" on an obscure compilation? His vocals actually upstage Reeds in this song.

Satellite of Love (2004 Remix)

]Um, Some dance band single

The bloke from Ash said it was rubbish and he's a twat. It's quite good, and it was a rubbish song to begin with. Now it's better. Also I know this is supposed to be about the Velvet Underground, and this was a Lou Reed solo effort and all but...Um..It was a Velvet Underground song originally. >_> Excuses.

Sunday Morning

Velvet Underground and Nico

This is nice. Nicest song ever. Listen to Radiohead's No Surprises and you'll see where they got the idea. I think No Surprises is better but this was um...Lush. Also try James's cover of it. Best cover song ever, and he adds another nice two minutes onto the end of it which is nice.

I'll be your mirror

Velvet Underground and Nico

Nico was a bit rubbish imo, but this had a nice melody.

Sweet Jane

Rock and Roll Animal

Also not a VU effort but a Reed solo song, but it has the kick assiest fast rockiest version of Sweet Jane evar on it. Download.

THE POINT? NONE.

I'm tired.
