Top 50 Video Games

Since we all love lists and we also love stealing (or as I prefer, borrowing) other people's ideas, it's time for a top 50 video game list. Vote for your fave games of all time (from 1-10) and hopefully Halo won't win #1 <_< . Anyways, my favorites.

1. Goldeneye 007 (N64) - It's the best shooting game, period.

2. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) - It added an amazing story and great gameplay to a great series.

3. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (GEN) - The best of the 16-bit Sonic games and a good bit of history for me.

4. Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - It's the best of the NES.

5. The Madden Series (multi-console) - I'll count any sports game franchises as one series (especially with how many games this series has).

6. Harvest Moon 64 (N64) - I personally think this is one of the most underrated games of all time. It deserves this slot.

7. WWF No Mercy (N64) - Even with the changes in wrestling over the past four years, playing of this game has never ceased.

8. Starfox 64 (N64) - So simplistic in terms of what you do yet so deep and fun. Also, Falco > j00.

9. Super Smash Bros. Melee (GCN) - Multiplayer fun for everyone!

10. Perfect Dark (N64) - A game that might be given a bad rep due to it having the monumental task of following up Goldeneye.

EDIT: I'll try to actually get this finished too.

RE-EDIT: Voting ends Monday, August 23rd, 2004.

Halo wont win when it's a piece of shit, there's nothing to it :P

1. Final Fantasy X - Best RPG ever if you ask me

2. Mario Kart - Gamecube version or old nintendo version, both are superb. Greatest driving game off all time, and it's not even supposed to be.

3. Super Mario World - What is there to say? It was the best game back in it's days.

4. Pro Evolution 3 - Greatest football game and sports game in the history of gaming, simple.

5. Grand Theft Auto:Vice City - Really great game and took gaming to a new level if you ask me.

6. Final Fantasy 8 - Not too far from FFX. A really brilliant game which I can enjoy for months on end and play it over and over.

7. Sonic The Hedgehog - I'm talking sega version, not any remake crap. This used to be super.

8. Mortal Kombat - Sega version was super, damn simple as. The fatalitys were awesome.

9. Street Fighter - Once again I'm talking about the Snes version here. As good as Mortal Kombat, one of the best fighting games ever.

10. WWF Smackdown - I'm talking the first ever Smackdown here. This was the ultimate wrestling game for me back then, it'll always be unbeatable.

Sadly I cant find any room for Simons Quest and WCW Thunder :(

9-WCW Revenge-ah, good old WCW the funniest part about this game was, u couldnt edit and bodys moves just there name, tthere entire appearance and who they were affiliated with unfortunatley, i lost my version and have been wanting to buy a new copy ever since.

10- NWO VS WCW: WORLD TOUR- it just came to mind, but this without a doubt was the most anticapted game i have ever lived within my time. i remeber my mom was going somewhere and it was released there before here, so she was gonna come back with a copy. the first day back i had all my friends over for a sleep over and we had a huge tournament. ahh the good old days

1.Mario Bros. Series(not counting Mario 64 and up) -A game that is great even with it's age. I can spend all day playing a Mario game and still want to play again.

2.Smackdown Series and WWF Attitude-I'd say the best one is Smackdown 2 but I think the entire series should be on here. I might aswell put Attitude on here too.

4.Tony Hawk Series-No doubt the greatest skateboard game ever

5.Need For Speed Series-Greatest. Racing games. Ever.

6.Grand Turismo Series-Second only to NFS when it comes to racing games.

7.Matt Hoffman Series-I like BMX, this is a great about BMX.

8.EA Sports NHL Series(PC)-The PC is the only system that I like playing NHL games on, and it's a great series.

9.Marvel vs. Capcom(Arcade)-A great fighting game which is the one game I allways had to play while at an arcade.

10.Mortal Kombat Series-You have to put this somewhere on the list.

I tried fitting the Madden Series on there but I couldn't think of the right spot for it.

Retro Games > * Why doesn't Video games class as being Commodore/Amiga/PC?

10. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Mega Drive): The best of them all. No question - shame Knuckles wasn't in this one.

9. The Curse of Monkey Island (PC): Murray The Demonic Skeleton is one of the best characters ever.

Murray: "The forces of darkness will applaud me as I STRIDE into the GATES of HELL, carrying your HEAD on a PIKE!"

Guybrush: "Stride?"

Murray: "ALL RIGHT THEN! ROLL! Roll through the GATES of HELL! *pauses* Must you take the fun out of everything?"

8. Street Fighter 2 (God Knows...): Original and best. Before Akira - but I remember the first time I saw Dhalism and Blanka. As a little boy I was amazed at them.

7. Final Fantasy X (PS2): Sheer gameplaying. The Sphereboard is genius.

6. Project X (AMIGA): Bloody difficult, but excellent space shooter.

5. Final Fantasy VIII (PS1): My fave FF keeps changing, but I cry at this at times. The love story is so beautiful...*wipes tear* Plus Seifer kicks arse when he isn't a wuss...

4. Metal Gear Solid (PS1): This moved me. I like the cutscenes - this is like a movie. I can quote most of this off by heart.

3. The Secret of Monkey Island (AMIGA/PC) : Hysterical. Insult Sword Fighting and of course...How appropriate, you fight like a cow.

2. Monkey Island II: LeChuck's Revenge (AMIGA/PC): Best in the series, one of - if not the, funniest game ever. I'm a huge Monkey Island Mark...Lack of Murray the Demonic Skull though...

LeChuck: "What? This Voodoo doll is supposed to send you into a hell dimension of screaming pain and seething torture. *pauses, shakes doll* Shoddy materials...I bet."

1. Sensible World of Soccer (AMIGA): *sings* You're a goal scoring superstar hero...You're a scoring goal superstar hero! Best Football management game ever. Simple...quick...addictive.

10. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(I think the original is that the one that starts off with the building on fire?)

9. Starcraft

8. Madden Series

7. Age of Empires 2

6. Super Smash Brothers Series

5. Final Fantasy X

-Greatest Looking RPG with great gameplay, WOW.

4. Counterstrike(I guess you can count this under the half-life series)

-Greatest 1st person shooter ever. Accurate details and Fun. If you never played this before you NEED to play this!

3. Civ 2(Count this under the civilation series)

-Great game in which you have to think and plan and rule an empire yet still have fun and all that jam.

2. NCAA Series

-I can't believe I am the first to vote for this. The past few years this has delieved more than Madden and right now I consider this the best feeling Football game EVER!

1. GoldenEye

-Greatest game ever. If you are bored you can just pop this in and have hours of fun either in mutli player or in singles play. The controls are so simple yet enough complexness to keep you entertained. I just want to say that I own with pistols and I will own you all, just give me a D12 and You can have a AFK and I will kill you!
