Sophie and I had just got out of the elevator. I hadn't said a word to her as we waited while the elevator began its slow descent to the ground floor. As we stepped out of the elevator I was pissed off. I just pushed my way past security and blasted through the giant glass doors.

Sophie:"Whoa, whoa, slow down. What's the matter with you?"

I turned around to face Sophie. I was on the edge of the sidewalk with my back facing the traffic going both ways on Atlanta's busiest street. "I had to just put up with more of Eric's shit. He's interfering with the job I was hired to do. Now Ric Flair's gone. That's it. How the hell am I supposed to do my job of booking WCW with Ric Flair gone?"

Sophie:"Relax. It's OK. I've seen your plans for after Road Wild. They look good. Yeah some of it may have to be tweaked but...I think you'll pull it off."

"It won't work without Flair. Eric's really tied my fucking ass now. The n.W.o. is his, and when WCW is dealing with the n.W.o. it's his. All I have is when WCW fights each other. And even then, without Flair...the fans won't buy it. The entire time was spent hyping up the n.W.o. and now we barely have a leg to stand on."

Sophie:"You control WCW after Road Wild right?"

"Yeah."

Sophie:"What about...when Road Wild is happening?"

"I don't know, Eric'll be too busy.....oh....Sophie. That's pretty good. I like it."

She grinned as she got in her Civic while I got in my Ferrari F355. Yeah life was good as a doctor, but who knew that being a creative mind in a wrestling organization was hell. Hogan was staying at the local Sheraton Inn near the airport. Naturally he didn't sign in using his real named as he'd be mobbed by fans. While I was driving to the hotel I was thinking about this, this was my first pay-per-view that I had a hand in creating. I have no idea how the fans will buy this, but this is the litmus test as to whether or not I can make it as a booker in the wrestling business. Who would have thought it, I grew up as a fan, and just through chance I got to be a part of the WWF. Now I'm a part of the competition, WCW. Before I had a chance to think anything else, I saw the giant hotel of the Sheraton and I pulled in. Sophie stepped out as well and I put my sunglasses on.

Sophie:"Hey Doc, wait."

"What is it?"

Sophie:"Have you heard of a group called ECW?"

"I've heard about them yeah. Dean, Eddie and Chris told me about it. I haven't actually seen a show but the way those three built it up it sounds like something special. Why?"

Sophie:"Nothing. It's just that I heard Eric was planning on raiding their talent."

"What? Why? They don't even operate anywhere near Atlanta."

Sophie:"I'm not too sure, all I know is that part of it could be because he has a huge beef with the guy who runs it, Paulll....Heyman I think it is. It's like he's possessed about it. I've heard him rumble on about it over and over again."

"Jesus. Well, at least it's not stealing the WWF's stars, but now he wants to steal from smaller federations? Has he even seen who we have in the Power Plant? There's a lot of stars there in the making. There's no need to take other stars from other federations and ruin them. Jesus...we've got the best company in the world right now, if we shine a bit of spotlight on the new guys they'll be over in no time. OK, I'll talk to him about this. Here's hoping he didn't do anything stupid and sign any of them."

Sophie:"If he was smart he'd put them in the n.W.o. and make reference to ECW. If....he was smart."

Sophie flashed me a grin as she put her sunglasses back on.

*******************************

We entered the reception area as I pulled out the card that tells me what Hogan's pseudonym was under. We walked up to the receptionist who looked up at us and gave us this smug look.

I pulled off my sunglasses and put my arm on the marble counter. I looked at him with a cold stare. Sophie was right beside me standing with her arms folded across her chest. She had quite the angry look on her face as well as we both looked at each of the receptionist's eyes.

"Slappy White's room please."

Receptionist:"Uh....lemme call him and ask if it's okay, I'll need some identification."

We handed him our ID's as he was on the phone with Hogan. I looked at Sophie and wondered how long it would be before we entered Hogan's room. Finally we got the go ahead from the receptionist. Once again we entered an elevator alone. As the doors closed I smelt a funny smell. Sophie looked at me...

"You did it...."

She rolled her eyes as we went up to Hogan's penthouse suite.

*********************

Hogan opened the door to us and greeted us warmly.

Hogan:"Doctor, man, it's so good to see you again! It's been such awhile. We've both been so busy since you came in here to really get together. Oh...and Sophie, what a dear. Come in."

"Hey Terry, it's nice to see you again."

Hogan:"Can I get you guys anything?"

Sophie:"No, we're fine thanks."

"I'll have a coke if you got it."

Sophie glared at me when a little girl came walking towards us.

Brooke"Hi!!"

Sophie:"Well hello sweetheart. What's your name?"

Brooke:"Brooooooke. What's yours?"

Sophie:"Sophie. It's nice to meet you Brooke."

Hogan:"Brooke, dear, why don't you go play in your room. The grown ups need to talk."

Brooke ran off while Hogan smiled. It was easy to tell that he was very proud of his daughter.

"Listen Terry, I heard that you had some problems with the way Road Wild is supposed to go down."

Hogan:"Eric tell you this?"

"Yeah. What's the problem with it?"

Hogan:"It's too short. I don't like the finish and basically whoever wrote out the basics of the match doesn't know what they're talking about. I won't have it end with this finish."

"Terry, we've already told Paul this. He knows the finish, we can't just change it now on the last minute."

Hogan:"Well I don't like it. It's as simple as that. If you refuse to change it, I'll go to Eric and he'll get it changed for me. So either way, it'll get done. The only question is whether or not it'll be changed now, or tomorrow. Your call. Now if you'll excuse me, Brooke needs me."

We were escorted out and Hogan closed the door of his suite.

"Well.....that went well."

Guerrero vs. Regal

Guerrero has been very impresseive against people like Henning so this match will keep him looking good.

Mysterio vs. Malenko

Mysterio just seems like the logical choice

Steiners vs. Harlem Heat

I just like the Steiners more.

Hall vs. Flair

With Flair retiring the only way Hall should definatly beat Ric

Nash vs. Luger

I think that the nWo will be holding most of the titles and with Hogan winning the world Nash will beat Luger

Hogan vs. The Giant with special guest Referee Comissioner Bischoff.

With Ric gone you need someone to become the main leader againast the nWo and the Giant could be the man to do it if he wins the match

Who joins the n.W.o. at Road Wild? Eddie Guerrero

Eddie GUerrero has the right attitude with the nWo

Who will be added to the Horsemen to make it complete? William Regal

With Eddie joining the nWo this could be a great double turn

TIE BREAKER: Who will be debuting soon? Taz

All the promos make me think the only guy it could be was Taz

Sunday, August 18, 1996. Live from the TD Waterhouse Center in Orlando, Florida. 13,448 people bought tickets with a profit of $806,880 from ticket sales.

I was pacing around the TD Center 10 minutes before showtime. It had all been building to this one show. I didn’t know how things would play out. Eddie and Stephen were talking about their match. They’d be up first and they knew they had to put on an excellent match to set the tone for the entire card to come. The n.W.o. had arrived earlier like I asked and I was glad about that. People were abuzz as to who the newest member of the n.W.o. would be. Eric and I knew who they would be but we didn’t tell anyone. Eric was just being smug and I played dumb. Of course, I had a little surprise for Eric. I control the WCW part while Eric has the n.W.o. I’m within my bounds to do this. I saw Ric and I walked up to him.

”Hey Ric…I got a message from Eric.

Ric:”I got nothin’ to say to him right now. That piece of trash can burn for all I care.”

”Yeah I know, that’s why I’m here….”

It was a risky move but I told Ric everything including what I had planned….

I got to my position in the gorilla position and I sat down. I drank some water and put in a piece of gum. I had thrown up after I had told Ric what I had planned. I didn’t like going behind Eric’s back but at this point I didn’t care. I was nervous about this pay per view and I only hope that through mine and Eric’s booking, people would buy it to see what we had planned. The audience was hungry and we were literally sold out. The TD Waterhouse Center can hold around 16,000 people but with the set we had planned, we were literally at full capacity; we didn’t even have to paper the audience.

Tony and Bobby were bantering as usual through the mics. I guess with their vast experience they were used to it, but even still, I could sense the electricity in the air. I think everyone could. Tonight would be something special and I hope that things will go well.

It was time….Metallica’s “Until It Sleeps” played on the PA while a video was shown.

The hype video begins…

7:00pm CST

The scene filled up with images of WCW’s past including a ton of clips of Ric Flair.

Where do I take this pain of mine

I run but it stays right by my side

A bloody Ric Flair can be seen holding up the NWA title. Clips of Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat were shown in rapid succession for the next verse.

So tear me open, pour me out

These things inside they scream and shout

And the pain still hates me

So hold me until it sleeps

At this point the video showed clips of Hogan debuting in WCW. The clip faded into blackness.

Just like a curse, just like a stray

The next clip was of Hogan joining the n.W.o.

You feed it once and now it stays

Now it stays

During those two verses it showed clips of The Giant and Hogan in their feud for the WCW Title. Included is when The Giant kicked down Hogan’s door and had him by the throat.

So tear me open, but beware

There's things inside without a care

And the dirt still stains me

So wash me until I'm clean

The focus shifted to Kevin Nash as he destroyed Mongo McMichael and Randy Savage. It shifted to the destruction that the n.W.o. did on the subsequent arenas and to Bischoff. At one point it flickered into black and white as the camera showed the top of one arena as it had the graffiti plastered on the roof of the building. At another point it showed the completely destroyed WCW set for Nitro.

It grips you so hold me

It stains you so hold me

It hates you so hold me

It holds you so hold me

Until it sleeps...

This verse contained black and white images of Kevin Nash destroying Luger at a house show. It cut to certain points when Nash was taunting Luger on the microphone and ended when Luger was put to rest with a Jackknife powerbomb through a table.

So tell me why you've choosen me

Don't want your grip

Don't want your greed

Don't want it

The next clip was of Scott Hall and Ric Flair. It showed Hall’s match with Benoit and Anderson. Hall was seen destroying more paraphernalia of various arenas until it showed clips of him taunting Ric Flair.

I'll Tear me open, make you gone

No more can you hurt anyone

And the fear still shakes me

So hold me until it sleeps

This verse contained clips of WCW banding together against the n.W.o. They were making a stand and Heenan and Schivaone could be heard screaming about the unity of WCW against the n.W.o.

I don't want it.....NO

It grips you so hold me

It stains you so hold me

It hates you so hold me

It holds you, holds you, holds you

Until it sleeps...

The scene quickly shifted to the feud between Harlem Heat and The Steiners. They were presented in rapid fire succession of Harlem Heat attacking The Steiners. It quickly shifted to their subsequent matches in preparation for Road Wild.

So tear me open, but beware

The pain's inside without a care

And the dirt still stains me

So wash me till I'm clean

The scene quickly changed to Rey Mysterio and Malenko feuding. The clips showed Malenko and Mysterio fighting in a three way with Disco and it highlighted Mysterio’s acrobatic and high flying skills. Malenko was highlighted by his constant holds and his devastating slams.

I'll Tear me open, make you gone

No longer will you hurt anyone

The scene quickly shifted to Eddie Guerrero and Stephen Regal staring each other down and then some clips of their fantastic match from the past Nitro.

And the hate still shakes me

So hold me until it sleeps

Until it sleeps

Until it sleeps

Until it sleeps

The music video ended with clips of Ric Flair tearing up as he walked away from Arn Anderson and Hogan and the rest of the n.W.o. laughing in the background as it faded to black…

The crowd was cheering as the camera panned around the entire arena to show the massively packed audience. It showed fans holding various signs praising the n.W.o. and there were a bunch wishing Ric a goodbye.

Tony:”The TD Waterhouse Center is home to tonights event! Hello everyone and thank you for joining us for Road Wild! We are here live with a sold out crowd here in Orlando, Florida! With me as always is Bobby “The Brain” Heenan!”

Heenan:”Can you feel it Schiavone?! This is it, this is Road Wild! There’s so much on the line here. This is the first battle of WCW and the n.W.o. and there is electricity in the air!”

Tony:”Ohhh yeah. And look who’s coming out now…it’s Lord Stephen Regal!”

Eddie Guerrero vs. Stephen Regal

7:11

Regal came out to some jeering as he walked with a smug look on his face. He hopped onto the apron and wiped his feet before entering the ring. He waved to the audience as they booed. The boos turned to cheers as Eddie Guerrero’s music blasted throughout the arena. Eddie walked out and the crowd was behind him.

Schiavone:”Listen to this. These people love Eddie Guerrero!”

Heenan:”I’d be screaming too if I had one of his burritos!”

Eddie climbed in the ring and Regal charged him but the referee managed to hold Regal back. They were both brought to their respective corners and the referee ordered the match to begin. Both men circled each other while Eddie held out his arm. Regal cautiously approached Guerrero and extended his arm. In an instant Regal dropped to his knees and tried to grab Eddie’s legs but Eddie rolled out to the corner to escape the potential hold. The crowd cheered a bit as Eddie looked at the crowd and shrugged with a smirk on his face. This gave just enough time for Regal to walk right up to Eddie and slap him right on his face. The crowd let out a small “OHHHH” after that slap. Eddie didn’t react. He stood there and then stuck out his face. Regal looked a bit more upset and slapped him again. Again, Eddie did not react. Regal was incensed and slapped him again. Eddie reeled back his head after the slap and slapped his own face while shaking his head about. He then slapped his chest and shouted something in Spanish to the crowd.

Schiavone:”Eddie Guerrero is fired up! How do you see this match playing out Bobby?”

Heenan:”Well it’s very simple Schiavone, but it doesn’t surprise me that a peon like you would ask me. Regal has gotta stick to the ground game while Eddie should stick to his high flying game. There, was that so hard?”

Regal cautiously approached Eddie but Eddie kicked Regal in the gut. He quickly went behind Regal and lifted him up for a back suplex. Regal reversed it while Eddie fell backwards due to momentum. Regal quickly grabbed Eddie’s left arm but Eddie instinctively put his leg on the ropes. Regal relinquished the hold after 2 seconds and he stood up. Eddie stood up as well and brushed himself off. Both men were placed in the center of the ring and the match was started once again. This time, Eddie approached Regal but Regal dodged out of Guerrero’s way and hit Eddie with a European Uppercut with his left hand. Regal hit it once more which sent Eddie reeling. Regal dropped to his knees and hit an armdrag but he could not slap on the arm bar as Eddie rolled out of it. Eddie stood up and Regal came storming over and Eddie hit an arm drag of his own. Regal got to his feet and both men were engaged in a collar-and-elbow lock up. Eddie managed to get a headlock on Regal but Regal reversed it with a back suplex. Eddie managed to land on his feet behind Regal and when Regal turned around he looked surprised as Eddie was on his feet. Eddie smirked as the crowd appreciated the stalemate both men were at.

Regal licked his lips and approached Eddie. Once again they were in a collar-and-elbow lock up. Regal grabbed Eddie’s left leg and did a corkscrew takedown. Regal immediately jumped on Eddie and slapped him a few times before trying to hook the Regal stretch but Eddie squirmed his way out of it. Regal got to his feet before Eddie and Regal stomped on Eddie a few times to prevent Eddie from getting up. Regal stood in front of Eddie’s slumped body and slapped on a variation of a Dragon Sleeper on Eddie. Eddie fought it for a bit but Regal added more resistance. Eddie’s boot was banging on the ring to try and get the crowd behind it. The crowd was slow to clap with Eddie’s boot. The referee began to raise Eddie’s arm. 1………..2……………

Schiavone:”Eddie’s still in there!”

Eddie was feeling the crowd as his whole body began to shake. Regal had a surprised look on his face as Eddie was slowly rising to his feet. When Regal was on his feet he tried to club Eddie with one arm and hold Eddie’s head with the other but it wasn’t enough. Eddie managed to get enough strength to latch on a fishermen’s suplex. 1…….2…..Regal kicked out shortly after two. Eddie got up and pointed to the back in a tribute to Curt. Eddie kicked Regal in the ribs twice and screamed to the audience. Eddie ran to the ropes and dropped his leg across Regal’s throat. Eddie exited the ring and stood on the apron. He performed a helio and landed across Regal’s ribs. Eddie went for the cover again……..1……………..2……………………..Regal had managed to put his leg on the ropes. Eddie picked up Regal and punched him in the stomach a few times. He placed Regal’s right arm around his left shoulder and delivered a suplex. But he wasn’t done, Eddie swiveled his hips and delivered another suplex, followed by a third. Eddie did a nip up and exited the ring to climb the turnbuckle. He stood on the top rope and extended his arms and absorbed the cheers coming his way. Eddie dived off the top rope for his frog splash. Flashbulbs were going off as Eddie flew in the air. Eddie was flying when his body hit the canvas square on. Regal had just managed to roll out of the way as Eddie’s body writhed in absolute pain. Eddie was on his stomach clutching his stomach when Regal rolled him over….1………2………………Eddie still kicked out!

Heenan:”I gotta give Guerrero credit. He’s really taking everything Regal’s dishing out and still fighting.”

Regal slammed his left fist on the mat as he got to his feet. He picked up Eddie and immediately delivered an abdominal stretch. Eddie was screaming in pain as he had just unsuccessfully hit the frog splash. Regal leaned back for extra leverage and grabbed the top rope. The referee saw this and counted to five, Regal released the hold after 4 and a half seconds. When Regal realized that he couldn’t get Eddie to submit, he moved his leg out of the hold and lifted Eddie up to do a reverse suplex so that Eddie landed on his stomach. Regal stood up and waved to the crowd as they booed him. He walked over to Eddie but Eddie did a quick rollup to Regal. 1…….2…..Regal kicked out and he looked furious. Regal walked over to the turnbuckle to collect himself. Eddie was still on the ground trying to eliminate some of the pain in his stomach. Regal walked over to Eddie but received a drop toe hold for his troubles. Eddie was slowly trying to get to his feet but Regal beat him to it and delivered a left fist to Eddie’s face. The referee got in Regal’s face about all the illegal moves he had performed in this match. This allowed enough time for Eddie to get to his feet. He was incensed about the fist to his face and he showed it. When the referee was done scolding Regal, Eddie was already charging towards Regal. He rammed his shoulder into Regal’s gut which sent him directly against the turnbuckle. He rammed him again and again. Eddie kept ramming Regal’s gut for another 5 times before Regal collapsed to the ground. Eddie screamed to the crowd as Regal was trying to get up. Eddie exited the ring and stood on the apron. He rammed his shoulder once again into Regal’s stomach. Eddie grabbed the top rope and began to sail over Regal’s body. Once their backs were touching Eddie linked his arms with Regal and the momentum of Eddie’s jump forced Regal backwards for a backslide. 1…….2……………..Regal kicked out. Eddie stomped on Regal’s stomach some more before exiting the ring to go to the apron. He hit a second helio and immediately climbed the turnbuckles. Eddie was clutching his stomach as he climbed. Eddie leaped up off the turnbuckles and hit Regal with a frogsplash. Immediately Eddie hooked Regal’s legs…..1………2………….3!

Schiavone:”What a way to kick off Road Wild! Eddie Guerrero was unsuccessful with the first frogsplash attempt but managed to hit it on the second try!”

Heenan:”That Guerrero sure knows how to wrestle, I will give him some credit here….I guess.”

Schiavone:”What an amazing victory for Guerrero and look how happy he is. Folks, we’re glad you could join us for Road Wild, but the next time we’ll be on pay per view will be on September 15, 1996 at the Reunion Arena in Dallas, Texas. Tickets will be on sale next week.”

I took off my headset and checked on both Stephen and Eddie. Stephen’s chest was a bright red but he waved me off saying that he was fine. I checked his heartbeat and it was somewhat erratic but he said he was fine and walked away. As he was walking away he grabbed a bag of ice and held it to his chest. Eddie came walking in and was panting heavily.

”Are you OK?”

Eddie:”The people man, the people out there. They’re insane. I wanna just go out there and wrestle some more just to hear them scream.”

Eddie grabbed a bottle of water and gulped it down. Water was pouring down his body and down his face. I could hear the crowd roar as the T-shirt girl was out shooting off t-shirts. As to what was playing on the TV I have no clue. He wiped off the water as I was checking Eddie’s heartbeat. It was fine, a bit rapid but other than that he was fine.

Rey Mysterio and Dean Malenko were in the back talking about their upcoming match. Some stage hand told them it was their time. They walked up to me looking as intense as ever. I think all the wrestlers had this feeling that this was something huge, something that was just more than a pay-per-view.

Malenko:”How’s Eddie doin’?

”He’s fine…why?”

Malenko:”He’s been actin’ a bit strange lately. I don’t know why, it could be because of Curt…I’m not sure. Just, talk to him if you can.”

Rey:”Yeah, he’s been actin’ a bit weird. I can’t say why, for some reason he’s all happy when a week ago he was all upset. Do you know why?”

In reality I knew exactly why. ”No I have no clue, but I’ll keep an eye out.”

A voice called my name and I turned around. Eric…what’s up?”

Eric pulled me aside to a small corner. He pointed his finger at me in leaned in real close. From this vantage point and since I was taller than him, I could see that he dyed his hair. Interesting…

Eric:”What the hell do you think you’re doing?!”

”What do you mean?”

Eric:”I mean you going over my damned head. Who the hell do you think you are?”

I didn’t have time for this right now. ”I’m a doctor.”

Eric:”Oh very funny pretty boy. After this is done, my office.”

I walked around to go to the desk when who should approach me….

Sophie:”DOCTOR!”

Oh rats…can’t I just watch the match? ”Hey….Sophie. A match is just starting so can I talk to you later?”

Sophie:”That’s cool, I just wanted to see how things have played out?”

”Well, Ric knows and Eric’s pissed at me.”

Sophie:”Awesome…just….awesome! Well I’ll let you get back to work. Take care!”

I put my headset on and Dean Malenko had just entered the ring. The ice blue lights were shutting off and the regular ambient lighting was just coming back on.

Rey Mysterio vs. Dean Malenko

7:42pm

Schiavone:”Bobby, what’re your thoughts on this matchup?”

Heenan:”Well it’s just like I said for Guerrero and Regal. Rey needs to fly and use his speed while Malenko needs to keep it grounded. If Malenko can stretch the match out, he can wear Mysterio down. We’ll just have to wait and see…”

Malenko had just relinquished his coveted WCW Cruiserweight title while Mysterio was fixing his mask. The bell rang three times and the match began. Mysterio immediately ran to the ropes and Malenko countered with a clothesline but Mysterio ducked underneath it. Mysterio kept running to the opposite ropes. He tried to do a flying body press but Malenko grabbed Mysterio’s arm and did an arm drag. Mysterio rolled right out of it back on his feet. Both men turned around and were surprised to see each other standing up. Malenko leaned his head back while Mysterio fixed his gloves. Both men engaged in a collar-and-elbow lock up. Mysterio managed to get a headlock on Malenko but Malenko reversed it by whipping Mysterio into the ropes. As Mysterio bounced off, Mysterio hit a hurricanrana on Malenko. He hooked both legs and went for the cover. Before the referee could even get to 1, Malenko sat up and reversed the pinfall situation. Before the referee could get to 1, Malenko grabbed Mysterio’s leg and tried to hook on an ankle lock submission. Mysterio escaped the maneuver by hitting a reverse mule kick to the face. Mysterio escaped but Malenko dodged the kick. Once again both men were at a stalemate. The crowd applauded the efforts of both men.

Malenko offered his hand in a show of respect. Mysterio was hesitant to shake Malenko’s hand but Malenko persisted. Mysterio paid for that act of kindness with a kick to the stomach. Malenko hit a quick snap suplex on Mysterio. Malenko was a bit slow in rolling on top of Mysterio which took away from the quickness of the match. Malenko then applied an arm bar on Mysterio. Mysterio grabbed the ropes and the 5 count began. Malenko released the hold at the count of three. He stood up and began to stomp on Rey a few times. Malenko picked up Mysterio with ease and hit a gutwrench suplex. Malenko went for the cover….1……2.. Mysterio kicked out right after the two count. Malenko stood up, grabbed Mysterio’s right knee and drove his knee into it. Malenko then twisted and pulled as Mysterio screamed in pain. Mysterio was in the center of the ring and had nowhere to go. Malenko increased the torque on the knee as Mysterio screamed. Mysterio, out of desperation managed to prop himself up. Malenko was fighting it but the crowd was fighting for Mysterio. Mysterio then kicked Malenko in the back of the head which allowed Malenko to release the hold. Mysterio immediately rolled out of the ring and the referee began his 10 count. Malenko slowly stood to his feet as he was shaken up a bit. Once all the cobwebs were shaken out Malenko went outside. He grabbed Mysterio and whipped him into the steel steps. Mysterio crashed right over the steps as his knee hit the steps. Mysterio was grabbing his knee as Malenko threw him back in the ring. Malenko went for the cover….1…….2……..

Schiavone:”Mysterio’s heart is as big as anyones I can tell you that right now.”

Heenan:”Mysterio’s heart is the size of my shoelace…”

Malenko picked up Rey and whipped him into the turnbuckle. Mysterio bounced off the turnbuckle sternum first and girated on the ring canvas. Malenko walked over to the turnbuckle and faced Mysterio. He hopped onto the second rope and stared at the crowd. They booed as he perched over Mysterio. Malenko jumped off and pulled his fist towards him as he dropped the elbow across Mysterio’s chest. Malenko went for the cover yet again….1……..2……..Mysterio still kicked out. The crowd cheered while Malenko was upset at this turn of events. He picked up Mysterio and whipped him to the ropes. Malenko hit a stiff clothesline that sent Mysterio flipping inside out. Malenko was now as intense as ever as he immediately stomped on Rey’s chest before picked up Rey. Malenko hit a tilt-awhirl-back breaker on Mysterio and stretched Mysterio’s back across his knee. After a few seconds Malenko released the hold and picked up Mysterio to deliver a quick snap suplex. Immediately Malenko got up and picked up Mysterio. Malenko picked up Mysterio and slammed him as hard as he could with a vicious powerbomb. Immediately Malenko tried to go for the Texas Cloverleaf but Mysterio was too slippery and managed to fight his way out of it and kick Malenko off. Like a pitbull Malenko immediately strapped it on again.

Schiavone:”It’s over! It’s over! He’s got it locked on!”

Malenko had the Cloverleaf locked in but Mysterio was clawing and scratching to get to the ropes. Malenko leaned backwards to add more pressure but the added pain only seemed to increase Mysterio’s will to get to the ropes. Mysterio finally made it to the ropes after about 10 seconds of being in the hold. Malenko was forced to relinquish the hold as the referee checked on Mysterio. Malenko pushed the referee aside and whipped Mysterio to the turnbuckle. Mysterio hit the turnbuckle back first and he was facing the ring. Malenko came charging in but at the last second Mysterio ducked underneath Malenko’s legs. Malenko’s sternum hit the turnbuckle hard and he backed up as he was stunned. Mysterio stood up and grabbed a hold of the top rope. He jumped and bounced of the second rope and clamped his leg around Malenko’s head. Mysterio twisted his body with all of his might as Malenko flew to the center of the ring in an awkward looking hurricanrana. The crowd cheered as Mysterio hit that move. Malenko was stunned and still on the ground while Mysterio was shaking his leg to get some feeling back in it. Malenko was now sitting on the canvas so Mysterio ran and did a miniature dropkick on the sitting Malenko. Mysterio was now gaining momentum. Mysterio quickly went outside on the apron. Mysterio grabbed the top rope, springboarded off the tope rope and hit a legdrop on the fallen Malenko. Mysterio went for a cover…..1……..2……….

Heenan:”Mysterio’s like what…10 pounds? There’s no way he can really pin Malenko!”

Mysterio picked up Malenko and hit a snap suplex of his own. Mysterio climbed the turnbuckle for the first time and flew off of it for a beautiful moonsault. Flashbulbs were going off to capture a moment in time of Mysterio flying. Mysterio quickly grabbed Malenko’s leg for the cover….1……2……….. Malenko still kicked out. Mysterio picked up Malenko and sent him to the turnbuckle. He drove Malenko’s head into the turnbuckle once, then again, then again, and he kept doing it as the crowd counted along until he got to 10. Mysterio then climbed the turnbuckle as Malenko’s body was leaning against it. Mysterio jumped, extended his legs and bounced off of one corner of the top rope and springboarded to do a headscissors on Malenko. The crowd cheered at the sight of that move but Mysterio didn’t go for the cover. He climbed the turnbuckle again and looked at Malenko then looked at the crowd. Finally, he Mysterio ran across the top rope and when he got to the center he jumped and hit a shooting star press on Malenko.

Schiavone:”DID YOU SEE MYSTERIO FLY?!”

Heenan:”That’s what you get when you have the weight of one.”

Mysterio went for the cover immediately….1……..2……………Malenko still kicked out. Mysterio stood up and walked around in frustration. Neither men could put each other away. Mysterio walked over to Malenko but he left his legs exposed. Malenko took advantage of this mistake and immediately pulled Mysterio down and latched on the Texas Cloverleaf. The crowd was shocked by this turn of events as Mysterio was now screaming. The ropes were within a few inches of Mysterio’s grasp Mysterio was reaching, clawing, trying to get to the ropes. Just when Malenko was about to reach the ropes Malenko pulled him back to the center of the ring. Mysterio still did not submit so Malenko released the hold. Malenko stood up and picked up Mysterio. He whipped Mysterio to the turnbuckle. Malenko lifted up Mysterio and placed him on the top rope. Malenko climbed the turnbuckle to the top rope as well.

Schiavone:”I’m not liking the look of this at all!

Malenko wrapped Mytserio’s right arm around his body and lifted Mysterio up for the superplex. Mysterio countered it in mid air and the both landed as if Mysterio hit a flying body press on Malenko. Mysterio rolled off of the unconscious Malenko as Mysterio was trying to get to his feet. The referee began his 10 count. The crowd wanted Mysterio to get on his feet and when he did, the referee was at 8. Mysterio slowly went outside to the apron. He waited for Malenko to rise to his feet before he bounced off of the top rope and hit a hurricanrana. The hurricanrana looked a bit askew but Mysterio and Malenko pulled it off as Mysterio hooked Malenko’s legs for the pinning combination. 1…….2…………..3!

Immediately Mysterio jumped off of Malenko and hugged the referee. The referee handed Mysterio the WCW Cruiserweight Championship shortly afterwards. Malenko was shoken up but rolled out of the ring gracefully as he walked to the back. Mysterio celebrated with the title as the camera cut back to the announcers.

79%, 79%, 79%

Schiavone:”We’ve wanted to see it Bobby, we’ve been waiting for it, and now here it is, finally, Mysterio gets his hands on that title!”

Heenan:”Well Mysterio fought long and hard and I have to say he earned this title. Congratulations.”

Schiavone:”Folks just a reminder to tune in tomorrow night on TNT for Monday Night Nitro. I’m being told right now that Comissioner Bischoff has a huge announcement tomorrow and it is being made regardless of what happens tonight. I wonder what it’ll be?”

Heenan:”Isn’t it obvious? Yours truly is finally getting a raise.”

Schiavone:”So you’re finally making minimum wage?”

Heenan:”Don’t start with me Schiavone.”

8:02pm

I took off my headphones to check on Mysterio and Malenko. It was a solid match but I noticed there was some slip ups. Malenko was sweating profusely but I put the stethoscope to him. His heartbeat was fairly high at 150 beats per minute but it was still within normal range. I wasn’t too concerned. I grabbed him a bottle of water and congratulated him on a solid match. He was very quiet as he drank his water. I would imagine he’s quite upset as his reign as champion had been nothing more than just a transition champion to Mysterio. I made a quick note of this and told him to take care.

Mysterio came out shortly afterwards and was celebrating his victory. The belt was just a bit bigger than his head so I found that rather humourous.

”Hang on Rey, lemme just check you out.”

Rey:”I knew I’d be winning this, but man…it feels great to be recognized. I love this, I have to thank Eric!”

”Uh…yeah sure, go for it. He’s in the back somewhere.”

Bastard is stealing more of my ideas, but…there’s nothing I can do.

Rey was finished his examination as the Steiners and Harlem Heat walked up to get ready for their match. Before I could even say anything, The Steiner’s were on their way out to the ring. I didn’t even have a chance to say anything to Harlem Heat as they were busy talking amongst themselves.

8:07pm

Harlem Heat vs. The Steiner Brothers

Harlem Heat were now on their way out with the WCW Tag Team Titles around their waists. The Steiner’s were in the ring stretching off of the top rope. The crowd was booing Harlem Heat as they walked to the ring and they walked with quite intensity.

Schiavone:”Here’s a rivalry that’s grown to be quite intense lately. How do you see this playing out Bobby?”

Heenan:”Both teams are great wrestlers. They know how to brawl, but I have to give the edge to Harlem Heat. It’s their titles and they want to keep it.”

Stevie Ray was in the ring along with Rick Steiner. The bell rang but before any action could occur, Rick Steiner tried to lead the crowd in a bunch of dog like “hoots.” Some of the crowd participated, the rest wanted to see these two teams kill each other. Rick Steiner tried to go for a lockup but Stevie Ray hit Rick Steiner with a right hand. He hit him with another right hand and guided Rick to the ropes. Stevie Ray tried to whip Steiner to the ropes but Rick reversed it and Stevie Ray was sent running into the ropes. Stevie Ray ducked underneath the clothesline attempt and attempted a shoulder block. Rick Steiner didn’t budge. Stevie Ray backed into the ropes again and tried to hit another shoulder block but again, nothing happened. Rick Steiner then ran to the ropes while Stevie Ray ran to the ropes and when they collided, only Rick remained standing.

Rick tagged in Scott while Stevie Ray crawled towards Booker T. As Scott was about to get his hands on Stevie Ray, Booker T managed to get tagged in. Booker T immediately hit Scott with a series of right hands. Booker T kicked Scott right in the stomach and delivered a quick scoop slam. He bounced off the ropes and dropped his leg across the throat of Scott Steiner. Immediately Booker grabbed Steiner’s head and delivered a headlock. Booker was on his belly and he spread his legs out to prevent Scott from muscling out. Booker twisted and turned Scott’s head to increase the pressure. After about 30 seconds of constantly trying to make Scott tap out, Booker raised his legs and dropped a knee right on Scott’s head. After a few seconds, Booker raised his legs again and dropped his knees right across Scott’s head. Booker released the headlock and stomped on Scott’s head. He tagged in Stevie Ray to do some more damage.

Heenan:”This is smart by Harlem Heat; always making quick tags. No one gets tired and that way it better allows you to take down your opposing team.”

Stevie Ray dropped a knee right across the back of Scott’s neck. Stevie Ray picked up Scott and attempted to go for a suplex but Scott blocked it. After a kick to the stomach by Stevie Ray, he was successful in lifting up Steiner for the vertical suplex. After slamming Steiner down on the mat Stevie went for the cover: 1…..2…….Rick Steiner kicked Stevie Ray in the back of the head to stop the count. Booker T entered the ring and it looked like mayhem was about to ensue but the referee ensured that order would be enforced in the ring. Rick Steiner was escorted back to his corner when both men of Harlem Heat were stomping on Scott Steiner. The crowd was booing as Rick tried to get back into the ring but that allowed both men to constantly stomp the daylights out of Steiner. Booker T stepped back to the outside before the referee turned around. Stevie Ray picked up Scott Steiner and brought him to their corner. Stevie Ray chopped Scott Steiner two times before tagging in Booker T. Booker T choked Scott Steiner with his hands which caused the referee to begin a five count. Immediately Rick Steiner tried to get back in the ring. The referee turned around which allowed Stevie Ray to choke Scott while Booker T was punching and kicking Steiner’s midsection. Again, before the referee could turn around, Stevie Ray released Steiner and Scott crumpled to the canvas. Booker T went for the pin……….1…………2………….

Schiavone:”Hoooo boy, you can’t put away the Steiner’s that easily!”

There was still some life in Scott Steiner while Booker T was livid. He slammed his hand on the mat in frustration. Booker T picked up Steiner and whipped him to the ropes. Booker T hit Steiner with a vicious clothesline. Booker walked over to Rick and slapped Rick right in the face. The crowd was booing Booker T as he slapped Rick Steiner. Booker T was absorbing the cheers as Scott was trying to rise to his feet. Scott was behind Booker and hooked him in a weak rollup. 1…….2……Booker kicked out. The crowd was upset that they almost had a victory for The Steiner’s. Booker T got up and stomped Scott Steiner a few more times before tagging in Stevie Ray. Stevie Ray came in but Booker T didn’t leave. They had up to the count of 5 to get out before ending up being disqualified. Stevie Ray picked up Scott and bent him over backwards. Stevie Ray had his arm around Scott’s waist leaving his upper torso exposed. Booker T bounced off the ropes and did a scissors kick right across Scott’s throat. Scott collapsed as Stevie Ray went for the cover. 1……….2………………………….

Rick Steiner again broke up the pinfall attempt on Stevie Ray. Booker T came in to aid Stevie Ray and pushed aside the referee. He lunged on Rick Steiner while Stevie Ray aided Booker T. The referee was trying to split up the three men while Scott Steiner rolled outside of the ring. He was trying to walk over to the timekeeper’s table but it was taking him some time. The brawl inside the ring was unsuccessfully broken up by the one referee as Harlem Heat was trying to destroy Rick Steiner but with a referee in between the two teams it was difficult. Scott managed to grab one of the belts off of the table as Booker T hit the canvas due to a clothesline by Rick Steiner. Scott Steiner dropped the belt on the apron right underneath Rick’s feet as Scott rolled back into the ring. Scott lunged on Booker T as Stevie Ray motioned towards Rick Steiner. The referee was trying to pry apart Booker T and Scott Steiner when Rick Steiner clocked Stevie Ray with the belt. Stevie Ray fell right on the canvas as the referee finally managed to pry apart Scott Steiner and Booker T. Scott Steiner, exhausted at this point, draped himself over Stevie Ray. 1………..2…………… Stevie Ray kicked out as both men were lying on the canvas. The referee began his 10 count…..

Heenan:”What was that?! Rick Steiner used the title belt! He cheated! Disqualify him!”

Schiavone:”What if Harlem Heat had used the belt? What would it be called?”

Heenan:”Strategy!

8……………9…………..Stevie Ray was slowly getting to his feet and he managed to tag in Booker T. Meanwhile Scott Steiner was clawing to get to his brother Rick. As Booker T managed to get his hands on Scott, Rick was tagged in. The crowd roared as Rick climbed in the ring and leveled Booker T with a clothesline. The crowd did a “hooting” noise with that clothesline. In came Stevie Ray and he got a clothesline for his troubles as well. Rick Steiner was fired up and was screaming for one man to attack him. Booker T got back to his feet as the referee escorted Stevie Ray out of the ring. Booker T ran towards Rick Steiner and as he did so, Rick grabbed his hands around Booker T’s body and flung him over his head for an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Rick picked up Booker T and delivered a huge powerslam but ignored the cover. Stevie Ray came back in the ring and got a huge spinebuster for his troubles. Rick Steiner was on fire. As Booker T was rising to his feet, Rick Steiner delivered the Steiner bulldog. Rick went for the cover….1………2……………………..

Booker T still kicked out. Scott Steiner was feeling a bit more rested and he was tagged in. Scott Steiner delivered a huge clothesline to Booker T. He picked up Booker T and delivered a T-bone suplex and went for another pinfall attempt. 1…………..2……………..Booker T was saved by Stevie Ray. Rick Steiner jumped off the apron and attacked Stevie Ray on the outside. Scott Steiner whipped Booker T to the turnbuckle. He lifted Booker T to the top turnbuckle and climbed up. Steiner looked across at the people screaming and delivered a huge frankensteiner off of the top rope. Booker T’s back hit the canvas hard as Steiner went for the cover. 1……….2…………..3!

Scott and Rick immediately clutched the WCW Tag Team Titles and held it in their hands. They raised the belts high above their head while Stevie Ray crawled in the ring to check on Booker T. The Steiner’s were high-fiving everyone in the audience as they walked back to the entrance area while Harlem Heat looked dejected.

86%, 85%, 87%

The camera cut back to Schiavone and Heenan.

Schiavone:”Wow, what a match we have just seen. This was truly, the best tag team match I have seen in professional wrestling history.”

Heenan:”They got screwed! They used the title belt! Disqualify them ref!”

8:29pm

I took off my headphones once again to check on Harlem Heat who were the first ones to get backstage.

Booker T:”Eric?! What the hell is this bullshit man? We lost the titles. Now what the hell are we supposed to do?! First we get treated like garbage by the Road Warriors, now this?! Man put yo stethoscope away man, I gotta speak to Eric….now.”

”Calm down….have some water. I’ll get Eric as soon as I can.”

Stevie Ray:”Well where is he?”

In all honesty, I knew where he was, with the n.W.o., but I didn’t want to say anything.

Booker T:”He’s with the n.W.o. ain’t he? Shit, ever since they came in he forgot about us. It’s like he don’t even care about the tag teams or anyone else anymore. I can’t deal with this shit. I’m goin’ home.”

With that, both members of Harlem Heat just walked to the lockerroom and didn’t say a word.

Lex Luger walked up and he looked pissed.

”What’s up Lex?”

Lex:”Look, I’m gonna get in that ring, and whatever happens….will happen.”

”Lex, I don’t think you wanna shoot here; let’s get realistic. Let’s not do it on a pay-per-view.”

Lex eyed me down with a cock-eyed look.

Lex:”Did you hear what he said in the past few weeks? Kevin started the shooting, not me. There was no reason to do that….what’s going to happen, is retribution.”

Oh boy…

Lex Luger vs. Kevin Nash

8:33 pm

The camera cut to the ring as Schiavone spoke.

Schiavone:”Well folks, this is it. Now we’re getting to what Road Wild is all about. The first match on pay per view of WCW taking on the n.W.o. Lex Luger is hoping to get retribution over Kevin Nash. It all boils down to this. And here comes Lex Luger!”

Heenan:”See that expression Schiavone? That expression is of pure focus and determination. Lex Luger is focused and you know he’s going to get the job done.”

Schiavone:”But what about the other members of the n.W.o.?

Heenan:”Schiavone, if there’s one thing I’ve seen, it’s that the lockerroom of WCW is committed, if anything happens, I expect all hell to break loose.”

The camera cut out….darkness filled the entire arena. The only light in the entire arena was of the camera bulbs flashing to get a glimpse of what maybe occurring. Over the PA system…white noise can be heard but slowly, what faded into the audio, was a muffled voice speaking. As it grew louder, more voices were added but the white noise was increasing as well so all that was heard was just irritating noise. At this point, a wailing electric guitar note could be heard as it grew louder in intensity. Finally, it started the n.W.o. theme song and as the crowd cheered. Out walked Kevin Nash with one hand raised. He had the “kliq” symbol flashed and some of the crowd members flashed it back. The camera was flickering in black and white with a grainy image as it flashed Luger’s face. He bounced off the ropes just watching Nash make his entrance. The camera finally shifted back into “normal mode” when Nash entered the ring.

Schiavone:”There you see it, the referee holding up the WCW Television Title. It’s up for grabs tonight so that’s added incentive for Lex Luger to win his bout.”

The bell rang three times and the match began. Luger charged Nash right from the get-go and immediately pushed him to the ropes with right hands to Nash’s face. Nash raised his hands to show that he was playing fair as the referee tried to separate the two men. Luger pushed aside the referee and kneed Nash in the stomach as Nash collapsed to his knees. Luger pounded on Nash’s back. Nash was on his stomach as Luger was stomping on Nash’s back. I was worried as they were stiff shots and the referee couldn’t control the match. The refree managed to push back Luger but once again Luger pushed the referee aside and picked up Nash. He dragged Nash to the turnbuckle and slammed his head into the turnbuckle. As Nash was reeling, Luger stepped back and chopblocked Nash. Luger bounced off the ropes and immediately dropped an elbow right on Nash’s leg. Luger stood up and grabbed the right leg of Nash and started to stomp on Nash’s right hamstring a few times before dropping his body on the knee and twisting it as he was on the ground. Nash grabbed the ropes and the referee began his five count.

Schiavone:”This is what we’re talkin’ about! WCW is fighting and we will not quit dammit!”

Luger released Nash’s leg at the count of five. He stood up and tried to get the crowd behind him. The crowd cheered and praised Luger as Luger probably got the best reception he’s ever gotten. He went to each corner of the ring trying to rally support as they all cheered for Luger. Nash was slowly trying to get to his feet but obviously favouring his right leg as Luger floored him with a running clothesline to send him back down to his feet. Luger stepped out the ring and walked over to a fan in the crowd holding up a sign. The fan handed over the sign to Luger as he showed it to a camera. It read “WCW will live on forever”. Luger held it up and pointed it at. He screamed something inaudible as the crowd cheered him on. Luger rolled back in the ring as the referee just finished screaming the number 7. Nash was almost fully erect as he was rubbing his right knee. Luger walked over and stomped the knee as Nash crumpled a bit. Luger picked up Nash and hit him right in the face with a stiff right hand. He bounced Nash off the ropes and sent him to the opposite ropes. Nash limped back to Luger as Luger tried to hit a clothesline but Nash ran right through it. Nash turned around and decked Luger right in the face. Nash hit a few more forearms to Luger’s face as he grabbed Luger’s right arm and flung Luger towards him and decked Luger with a standing clothesline. Luger fell to the ground as Nash rubbed his knee. I could tell that Nash was now stiffing Luger but at least they were still…working the match.

Nash picked up Luger and delivered a bodyslam to send Luger back to the mat. Nash continued to rub his leg and stretch it out to get some feeling back into it. He had his back to Luger while doing so. Luger was rising to his feet and the crowd cheered as Luger rose to his feet. This prompted Nash to turn around. Luger lunged at Nash but Nash sidestepped Luger. Luger dove right into the ringpost of the corner. The crowd booed as Nash smiled and Luger collapsed to the ring clutching his shoulder. Nash picked up Luger and thrusted him to the turnbuckle. He threw one elbow to Luger’s face and followed it up with an elbow to Luger’s shoulder. He threw another one to Luger’s shoulder and another. Nash then backed up and put his hands together while watching Luger’s face. Nash charged in and slammed his elbow right on Luger’s shoulder. Luger fell down to the mat as Nash laughed at Luger. Nash stomped on Luger’s shoulder and put his foot on the shoulder for a cover.

1…….2………

Schiavone:”Luger kicked out, the hopes of WCW rests on Luger’s shoulders and he kicked out!”

Heenan:”But Luger’s only got one good shoulder, how long can he keep it up?”

Nash grabbed Luger’s hair and lifted him up to his knees. Luger tried to fight back by throwing some weak right hands to Nash’s gut but it didn’t work. Nash clubbed Luger’s back to stop the barrage of punches without pepper behind it. Nash picked up Luger to his feet and whipped him to the ropes. Luger bounced off and Nash raised his boot as Luger ran right into it. Luger fell right down on his shoulder and clutched it. Nash dropped his knees right on Luger’s shoulder and continued to press down upon it while he grabbed Luger’s right arm and twisted and wrenched it. Luger screamed as the referee asked if he would like to submit. Luger was screaming out the word “no.” Nash stepped up and released Luger’s arm as he dropped an elbow on Luger’s shoulder. Nash stood up and exited the ring as Luger rolled around on the mat. Nash grabbed the pro-WCW sign that Luger left on the ring apron and looked at it. Nash was staring at it with a smirk on his face before tearing it up to pieces. The crowd booed as Nash tore up the sign to confetti pieces. A crowd member began to scream at Nash. Nash walked up to him and put his face real close to the ring barrier. Nash then spat on the floor beside him and did the “4 Life” gesture to the fan which caused him to be ravenous. The count was at 7 so Nash rolled back in the ring only to roll back out.

Schiavone:”Look at the disprespect this…this….thug has for the match. He doesn’t care Bobby. He doesn’t care about pinning Luger, he wants to humiliate him and look at that….he’s enjoying himself. It makes me sick…”

Nash walked over to the timekeeper’s section and grabbed the WCW Television Title and held it up high. The crowd was rabid as Nash was holding the coveted WCW title. When he heard the referee get to 6 he threw it back on the table. The title bounced off the table and landed on the floor. Nash rolled back in the ring before the count reached 10. Nash walked over to Luger and spat on him. The crowd was booing as Nash just dispected WCW in and out of the ring. Nash walked over to the corner and leaned on the turnbuckle watching the fans with a giant smirk. During this entire time Luger was shaking his arm trying to get more feeling back into it. The boos turned into cheers as Luger made it to his feet. Nash slowly turned around with a cocky look on his face. At this point Luger exploded and delivered a huge clothesline to take down Nash. The crowd exploded when Luger clobbered Nash with the clothesline. The crowd began to chant Luger’s name as he clutched his right shoulder from the impact. Luger stood to his feet with the aid of the ropes. He screamed and tried to psych himself out by clinching his arms to his torso. Nash was back up and Luger bounced off the ropes and tried to deliver another clothesline. Nash reversed it however by delivering a huge sidewalk slam. All the cheers fell silent as Nash went for the pin. 1……….2………………………

Luger still managed to kick out. The crowd cheered as there was still life in Luger. Nash stood up and walked over to the edge of the ring towards the entrance. He stared at the entrance while Luger was trying to get up. Nash pointed to the huge WCW logo and spat on the ground yet again. Luger was up at this point and hit a chopblock on Nash’s knee. Nash fell right down as the crowd was once again behind Luger. He stomped Nash several times before stopping to get more feeling in his arm. Luger then pointed to the WCW sign and did a dorky thumbs up sign. It was dorky, but the crowd ate it up. Nash was getting back to his feet but Luger did a running knee to his face. Luger went right on Nash and began to deliver right hands to Nash’s face. After about 10 punches Luger stepped off of Nash and tried to get the crowd behind him. They were once again chanting his name. Nash felt his nose as he was getting up. When he finally got to his feet he charged towards Luger. Luger grabbed Nash and delivered a huge powerslam. The crowd rose to their feet when Luger slammed the big man on the mat. Luger jumped right up and made a gesture that he was going to retain the WCW Television Title. Nash was getting to his feet when Luger hit him with a running forearm to the face. Luger picked up Nash and whipped him to the turnbuckle. Luger looked at the audience and ran and drilled his knee right into Nash’s stomach. He propped Nash against the turnbuckle and began to ram his left shoulder into Nash’s stomach. Just as Nash was about to crumble, Luger grabbed him and lifted him high above his head for a vertical suplex.

Schiavone:”Look at the strength of Luger! My goodness he’s totally fired up and taking Nash to town!”

Heenan:”Did you ever have any doubt Schiavone?!”

Luger held Nash above his head for several seconds before dropping him down on the canvas. Luger jumped right back up and motioned for the torture rack. The crowd was rabid as they were waiting to see Nash submit to the torture rack. Luger stood hunched over Nash waiting for him to rise. There was an intense focus in his eyes as he waited. He rubbed his hands together to prepare for what would be a daunting task. Nash was slowly getting to his feet, completely unaware of what was waiting for him. The camera did another shot of Luger waiting before cutting to a wideshot of the entire audience. They wanted Nash to be put in the torture rack. They craved it, Luger yearned for it. Luger made it a point to always be behind Nash so he wouldn’t tip his hand. Nash was very groggy getting to his feet. Luger showed incredible patience in waiting for Nash. The crowd was aching for Luger to end the match.

Heenan:”When he gets him up for the torture rack, this crowd’ll go nuts. Just watch it.”

Nash was finally on his feet and Luger slipped right in and lifted him up. The crowd exploded as Nash was finally hooked in for the torture rack. Luger was straining to keep him up as his knees looked like they were about to buckle. He was teetering and taking steps all over the ring to stabilize himself. His back was near the ropes when he finally locked it in. Like having a 330 pound weight on his shoulders, Luger straightened his legs and screamed as he did so. The crowd cheered as Luger straightened himself out. Luger began to shake Nash when suddenly the massive cheers turned into massive boos. The referee’s back was also to the ropes as his face was literally inches from Nash’s face in order to hear Nash submit over the massive cheers.

Schiavone:”Dammit you knew this would happen! You just had a feeling!”

Heenan:”Boys, we’re waitin….”

Scott Hall appeared through the crowd and was now standing at the edge of the ring right behind Luger. He, Nash, and the referee all had their back to the ropes and didn’t even see Hall. Luger was violently shaking Nash. Hall had a lead pipe in his hand as he slowly crawled onto the ring apron. Not one competitor had seen the man as he reeled back his hand. The crowd was about to riot when Hall hit Luger on the back of the head with the lead pipe. Luger just fell flat on his face after being hit. Immediately after hitting Luger, Hall jumped off the apron and rolled underneath the ring. Nash tried to land on his feet but his bad knee buckled and he too collapsed on the canvas. Confused, the referee began his 10 count. When Hall saw his moment to escape, he did so through the crowd, smiling. He threw his toothpick at the ring but it barely flew two feet as he walked back through the crowd.

Schiavone:”No, it can’t. Don’t let it end this way. Not by a draw dammit!”

The count was at 8 when Luger began to stir. The crowd cheered as Luger slowly made it to his feet before Nash. When Nash saw that Luger was up, he quickly got up and threw a forearm to Luger’s head which sent Luger down on the mat. Nash was playing possum the entire time and he had a giant smirk on his face. He picked up Luger and kneed him in the midsection. Nash put Luger’s head in between his legs and raised his right arm high in the air. Nash lifted Luger up for the powerbomb and slammed him down on the mat. Nash put his foot on Luger’s throat for the cover…..1………2……………3.

Schiavone:”Oh my God….folks….I….I apologize….I can’t think of anything to say. The n.W.o…have their first….WCW title. This is bad…”

The referee came out and handed Nash the WCW Television Title. Nash grabbed it and raised it high in the air and screamed. The crowd was incensed and threw garbage back in the ring. Nash smirked as he walked back to the entrance. The camera cut back to Luger who was beginning to stir. The look on Luger’s face was of shock and disappointment. In his eyes, he was responsible for the n.W.o.’s first major victory against WCW.

88%, 90%, 86%

Schiavone:”I…don’t know what to say Bobby. This is bad news for WCW. This crowd, after venting their anger….they’re silent. They’re shocked as I am.”

Heenan:”I don’t know what to say Schiavone. I honestly don’t.”

Schiavone:”Folks….up next, we see a man, a legend fight his last match. Ric Flair…is leaving us as he takes on Scott Hall in the next match. Let’s….take a look to see how this all came about.”

8:54pm

The recap video played as I took off my headphones. Nash walked through the curtain with a slight limp in his step. His face was slightly swollen.

Nash:”Hey doc…why don’t you do your job and get me some ice?”

I picked up a bag of ice and a heating pack.

”Here….this is for your face. Put this on your leg. Once you get changed, come back here and I’ll check on your leg. I can’t make a diagnosis until you’re out of your tights.”

Nash stared at me. ”You didn’t know anythin’ about this did you? About what that bastard Luger did?”

”Look…he told me this was payback. I tried to tell him that in the ring wasn’t the answer. He ignored me. I tried my best.”

Nash:”Tell him, not to mess with me again.”

Nash limped off to the showers as Luger stepped in.

”Hey…Lex. How’re you feelin’?

Luger:”Pissed off. The crowd was totally behind me and I had to lose to that bastard.”

”Look…Lex. There’s nothing you can do, that’s the way it was booked. Lemme check you out.”

Luger”No thanks….”

Luger side stepped me and just walked away with a bottle of water in his hands. Ric Flair walked up to me with a calm look on his face. I swear, he’s the greatest actor in the ring, but outside, it’s damned near impossible to tell what he’s thinking sometimes.

”Ready Ric?”

Ric licked his lips and just stared at the curtain ahead of him. ”Yeah…”

Schiavone:”Well folks…this is it. Ric Flair…a legend in every aspect of the word, says goodbye tonight.”

Heenan:”You know what they say Schiavone, an animal is at its most dangerous when it is wounded. Flair may be getting old, but he’s got years of experience over Hall. This will be Ric’s finest performance. I can guarantee you this.”

Heenan and Schiavone were still talking but the sound and picture became out of sync and the video was garbled. The lights went out and the crowd cheered. A high pitched, yet male laughter reverberated throughout the arena until it eerily stated “Showtime.” The cameras which were filming this then filled with static as it shifted to a grainy image in black and white of the crowd in anticipation. The theme music of the n.W.o hit and out walked Scott Hall. He did his airplane walk as he threw a toothpick at the camera. When he entered the ring he grabbed a microphone.

Hall:”……Heeeeyyy yooo.”

Hall stayed silent as the crowd booed.

The newest induction in the New World Order…….

Hall:”Yo….for weeks….we promised that tonight….there will be a new member to the n.W.o. And tonight, the n.W.o. doesn’t disappoint. First, the big meng….my buddy, Kevin Nash takes your title. I’m gonna put Ric Flair into retirement and take the WCW United States title….and right now, we’re gonna show you, the newest member of the n….W…..o. So meng….whenever you’re ready….come on out.”

The camera twirled all the way to the entrance ramp….

The crowd was silent as were the announcers….my heart was beating like a jackhammer. I had no idea how this would play out.

No one walked out….the audience was getting impatient and began to ruffle.

Hall:”Hey….come on….”

Schiavone:”Well…where is he? Who is it Bobby?”

Heenan:”How should I know Schiavone?!”

Schiavone:”Well what about your sources?!”

The lights turned off in the entire arena and the crowd began to vocalize their anticipation. A spotlight was turned onto the entrance ramp when….Ric Flair walked out. The crowd immediately booed as WCW’s biggest legend walked out wearing an n.W.o. shirt.

Schiavone:”Oh…my God.”

The crowd managed to find more garbage as they threw it at Ric Flair. Flair just kept walking with his head slightly lowered as he stared at the ring. When Flair crawled through the ropes, Hall was applauding Flair and handed him a microphone as Hall went to get another one.

Hall:”There he is…the newest member of the New World Order….you’re…heh….legend, Ric….Flair! You got anythin’ to say there Ric?”

The crowd was chanting “Sellout” as Ric, wearing the n.W.o. shirt, was holding the microphone. Ric slightly nodded his head as his lips tightened. He slightly licked his lips when he raised the microphone to his lips.

Flair:”You know….I’ve been wrestling for a long time. I’ve wrestled in front of people like you for a long time. And I just wanna say that each and every time I did it….it was a privelage.” There was a mix of cheers and boos as Ric was delivering this speech. ”But what you heard on Nitro was right….this is the last time I wrestle for you guys.” The crowd was booing as Ric lowered the microphone. The crowd became silent as he put the microphone to his lips again. ”Because as of now….I am a member of the New World Order…..not WCW. This will be my last match wrestling for WCW as a WCW Champion. Because as of now….I’m in the New World Order.”

Schiavone:”I think I’m gonna be sick.”

Hall:”Welcome to the league meng….now….you’re first order of business. Lie down, and lemme take that title off of your hands. After that….WOOOOOOOOOOO…” The crowd booed at Hall using Flair’s trademark line. ”We’re gonna party like only Ric Flair can meng.”

Flair:”Just wait Scott….I still wanna say goodbye to these people.” Hall’s face looked a bit taken aback but Flair kept on talking. ”I want to tell you all, that wrestling for you people, has been an honour. And I hope that I carried the WCW name with dignity. It was truly an honour. Because now….when WCW falls, it’ll be an even bigger accomplishment.” Hall’s face was showing approval as the crowd booed Flair. Ric licked his lips again. ”Whether that happens tonight, or tomorrow, or in a hundred years, WCW’s name will always be great. But now….without me….I…I don’t know if you guys can survive. I bet you’re all wondering why. Why would I turn my back on WCW? Why would I join this…this group of thugs? Well, I’m sure you’ve all heard of that simple saying: If you can’t beat them….join them?”

Schiavone:”No…Ric…..please….”

Flair:”Well….here I am. But I wanna know one thing…” Ric’s head was rising as he was talking. He was starting to get a bit more animated and more emotion was in his voice. ”What I wanna know………” Ric looked at the entire crowd watching him speak. ”Is who said I can’t beat ‘em?” Ric smiled as the crowd rose to their feet. ”You see Hall, when you mess with WCW, you mess with Ric Flair!” Flair began to tear at his n.W.o. shirt. ”And when you mess with Ric Flair, you’re messin’ with the dirtiest player in the game. You think that you got the upper hand by doing vandalism?! Huh? Well I got news for ya kid, everything, these past few weeks, every….single thing…..was a FAKE! I played all of you thugs for fools! And you bought it….hook….line…….and SINKER! This is what you get when you mess with WCW! This is what you get….for messin’ with Ric Flair. He fights back! Ric Flair…will continue to live on! The Horsemen…..will continue to live on! And dammit….WCW will continue to live on!” The crowd was on their feet as Ric tore off his n.W.o. shirt to reveal a 4 Horsemen shirt. Flair lunged on Hall and began to hammer him with right hands as the crowd cheered. A referee jumped in the ring and the bell began.

Ric Flair vs. Scott Hall

Immediately as the match began, I heard Eric screaming the F-bomb before screaming for me.

”Can’t this wait Eric?”

Bischoff:”No….I want to see you now!”

I pulled off my headphones and walked over to the corner.

Bischoff:”What the hell was that?! Flair was supposed to lie down for Hall! What the hell is this?!”

”It’s simple, I have control of WCW right? Ric Flair is a WCW talent. So I vetoed it and told him that he was supposed to wrestle.”

Bischoff:”How’re they supposed to wrestle?! They have no match worked out.”

”Flair’s a wrestler Eric. Maybe you forgot about that. I’m sure he can call a match in his sleep.”

Bischoff:”My office…tomorrow morning.”

I sat back down to the gorilla position. Some of the wrestler’s smirked as they saw Bischoff chewing me out but they couldn’t hear why. I rolled my eyes and shrugged as I put my headphones back on and watched the television set. Flair had Hall on the corner. Flair had his left hand underneath Hall’s chin raising his head. He reeled back and delivered a huge chop to Hall’s chest. Hall keeled over and clutched at his chest. Flair bounced off the ropes and dropped a knee to Hall’s head. Flair rolled out of the knee drop and stood up and let out a giant “WOOOO.” The crowd responded in kind as Flair went back to Hall. Flair picked up Hall and delivered another chop. He whipped Hall to the ropes. Hall came running back and ducked the clothesline. Hall kept running and decked Flair with a clothesline of his own. Flair dropped to his feet and screamed as he got hit. Hall picked up Flair and hit him with a chop of his own. Flair sold it like he was getting shot. Hall booted him in the midsection and hit Flair with a right hand to the back of Flair’s head. Hall elbowed him in the back of the head. Hall linked that up with a suplex to Flair. Flair clutched his back and rolled around on the ring.

Schiavone:”We all know about the history of Flair’s back Bobby, how do you think it’s gonna play out?”

Heenan:”Everyone knows about it and you can bet that Hall knows and that’s a giant bullseye on Flair. You can bet that Hall will be targeting that back with every move he makes.”

Hall walked over and stomped on Flair’s back three times. After each one, Hall deliberately waited for Flair to clutch his back before stepping on it again. Hall was very methodical in picking apart Flair’s back. Hall picked up Flair and hit him with a right hand. Hall whipped Flair to the ropes. Flair came running back as Hall delivered a back body drop. Flair landed somewhat on his side but his back took some of the brunt as well. I stood up and dropped my headset. Everyone was sort of on their toes. The referee went to check on Flair to see if he was OK. Hall was taunting the crowd at this point in time. The referee stood up and rubbed his hair. That was the sign that everything was OK. We all sat down again and breathed a collective sigh of relief. Hall dropped an elbow drop on Flair’s back as Flair screamed in pain again. Hall rolled Flair and went for a cover….1………..2…Flair kicked out shortly after the referee’s hand dropped for a second time.

Hall picked up Flair and booted him in the midsection. Hall went behind the perched Flair and grabbed his arm and linked his leg with Flair’s. Hall leaned back and applied the abdominal stretch on Flair. Flair screamed as Hall put more stress on the already weak torso of Flair. Hall was stretch as the referee was right beside Flair to hear if he was going to submit. The crowd was cheering for Flair but they weren’t as loud as I expected them to be. Strange…Lex Luger gets a bigger face pop than Ric Flair. Anyways, Hall managed to grab the top rope and pulled on it for extra leverage. Flair was screaming and gyrating his head in a violent manner to sell the extra pain. Hall released the rope as the referee looked up. Finally, Hall gave up and threw Luger down on the mat. Hall went for yet another cover….1……2………..Flair still managed to kick out. Hall went to the ropes and dropped his elbow on Flair’s stomach. Flair crumpled up with Hall standing up to taunt the crowd with his usual “Razor Ramon” taunt. The crowd booed Hall as he did this taunt. Hall then waved his hand at the crowd to show that he didn’t care. Hall went back to Flair to pick him up. As he did so, Flair rolled up Hall with a small package….1………….2…Hall kicked out.

Schiavone:”Ohhh what a smart move by the legend! He almost had Hall there!”

Heenan:”There it is Schiavone! Flair had the element of surprise and he used it. Can he capitalize on it?!”

Flair struggled to get up but Hall was just a bit quicker. They both met up and they engaged in a collar-and-elbow lockup. Flair got Hall in a headlock which the audience cheered for but Hall reversed it with a back suplex. Again, Flair somewhat landed on his back but immediately the referee rubbed his hair. Hall ignored the pin and turned Flair over. Hall perched himself on Flair’s back and began to slap Flair in the back of the head. The crowd was booing at the sight of their legend being disrespected. After about 5 or 6 slaps in total, Hall stood up and dropped an elbow across the back of Flair. Flair screamed and grabbed at his back. Hall picked up Flair and delivered a right hand to Flair’s face followed by a boot to the midsection. Hall whipped Flair to the turnbuckle but Flair flipped right over the top rope and landed on the apron on his feet. Flair ran to the other turnbuckle and climbed up while Hall’s back was turned. The crowd was on their feet as they may just see Flair complete a top rope maneuver. Flair was clutching on his back while he was waiting for Hall to turn around. Hall slowly turned around and Flair dived off the rope with a crossbody. Flair hit it and the crowd popped with the successful top rope move. The referee gleefully counted…..1……….2…..Hall kicked out after that attempt. Flair stood up, still clutching his back. He let out a large “WOOO” to the audience. They responded in kind. Flair nodded his head as Hall was getting back to his feet. Hall stumbled over to Flair but Flair hit him with an eyegouge in plain sight of the referee. Hall dropped to his feet clutching his eyes while Flair stared at the referee. The referee shrugged his shoulders and made a gesture to say that he didn’t see anything.

Heenan:”Did you see an eyegouge there Schiavone?”

Schiavone:”I didn’t see anything.”

Heenan:”Me neither….must have been my monitor….damn things.”

Flair picked up Hall and hit him with two right hands before whipping him to the ropes. As Hall came running back Flair stepped right behind him and applied a sleeperhold. Hall’s arms were shaking violently before they settled and sort of limped to his side. Flair released the hold just as Hall was about to fall. Flair backed up and did a chopblock on Hall’s right knee. Hall grabbed his knee as Flair stood to his feet and grabbed the right leg of Flair. Flair kicked the knee twice before dropping his own knee on Hall’s knee. By this point the kneepads that Flair was wearing were now resting on the top edge of his boots so they were useless. Flair grabbed Hall’s right leg and looked at the audience. They were cheering as they knew what was next. Flair was about to hook the Figure Four leglock in but Hall kicked Flair to escape. Flair landed on the ring a few feet away from Hall as Hall was trying to get some feeling back in his right leg. Flair got to his feet and stood up. He picked up Hall and chopped him in the chest. Flair went behind Hall and delivered a back suplex of his own. Flair went for the cover……1………..2………Hall still kicked out.

Flair got up and slowly bounced off the ropes. He dropped his knee right across Hall’s knee and rolled right through it. Flair picked up Hall and kicked him in the stomach. He put Hall’s right arm around his left shoulder and lifted him up for a suplex. Shortly after lifting Hall, Flair had to put Hall back on his feet because of his back. So Flair chopped Hall back into the turnbuckle. Flair rubbed his back to get some feeling back in his back. He kicked Hall again in the midsection and tried again for a suplex. This time, Flair managed to lift Hall up. Flair held Hall in the air for a few seconds before slamming him back down to complete the suplex. Flair stood up and got more crowd support through his patented “WOOO.” Flair then went for Hall’s leg and started to wring the knee around. I could tell that this match was slow because these two were literally calling spots on the fly but I guess Hall wasn’t used to it so it seemed…..plodding. Flair stopped wrenching the knee and stood up. He again grabbed the right leg of Hall and tried to go for a Figure Four leglock. But he was once again unsuccessful as Hall blocked it by thrusting his legs forward to send Flair flying through the second and top rope to the outside. Flair was holding his back and rolled around on the outside in pain while the crowd was booing.

Schiavone:”This is not good folks. Flair was gaining momentum and now things have just taken a turn for the worse.”

Heenan:”It’s even worse Schiavone that another coveted WCW title, the United States Title, hangs in the balance.”

Hall was back on his feet and walked to the ropes. There was a slight limp in his walk but nothing that would indicate the amount of damage that he took. Flair was also on his feet and was climbing onto the apron when Hall got to the ropes. Hall grabbed Flair’s hair to pull him to his feet. Hall punched Flair in the stomach and attempted to suplex Flair back into the ring. He lifted Flair up but he couldn’t do it because of his knee. Instead, Hall grabbed Flair’s head and tossed him over the ropes and into the ring. Hall picked up Flair and chopped him which sent Flair reeling a bit. Hall did it two more times before hitting Flair with two right hands. Flair never really fell to his feet during this entire time but sort of reeled around the ring. After a few seconds of randomly reeling around the ring, Flair fell right on his face. The crowd was a mixture of cheers of boos. The crowd loved the Flair flop however, they hated the fact that Hall had control of Flair. Hall picked up Flair and picked him up as if he were going for a body slam but he turned him over in preparation for the fall-away-slam. Hall looked at the crowd who was booing him and he flung Flair to the mat with his fall-away-slam. Hall went over to Flair and hooked the leg for the cover…………1……………..2…………………….

Schiavone:”Flair kicked out! Flair kicked out!!!”

Hall slammed his hand on the mat in frustration as Flair managed to kick out. Hall stood up walked and around screaming at the audience while gesturing that he would be the new United States Champion. Hall walked back to Flair and tried to pick him up. But Flair hit a low blow on Hall. The crowd popped with that simple move. The tide of the match shifted once again. Hall dropped to his knees and eventually collapsed on the mat as Flair began to crawl to his feet. Flair picked up Hall and delivered a shinbreaker on Hall’s right knee. Flair looked at the audience who were all solidly behind him and let out a giant “WOOOOO!” The crowd once again responded in kind. Flair dropped his knee on Hall’s knee and when he stood up he grabbed Hall’s right leg. He light out another “WOOO” and hooked in the Figure Four leglock. He was successful and when he fell down and completed the leg lock the crowd went nuts.

Schiavone:”The Figure Four! It’s locked in Bobby!”

Hall was screaming in pain and the crowd was anticipating Hall to submit. The crowd began to boo when Kevin Nash walked out again. When Nash finally made it to the ring, the referee stood up and told Nash to get out of ringside. Nash refused arguing that he was just watching the action. Flair broke off the Figure 4 to see what the problem is. This of course was to his detriment as Flair began to argue with Nash. Nash was brandishing the WCW Television Title that he had just won. He spat on it and threw it on the ground. Flair was livid at this point and screaming at Nash while Nash backed up a step. Hall managed to roll away from Flair at this point. Nash picked up the title and pointed to himself while Flair was livid at the disrespect of the WCW title. Nash then hopped up on the apron and both men were with in inches of each other. The referee was trying to get in between both men. Hall rolled out of the ring and limped to get the United States title. Nash was still screaming at Flair and the referee was trying to control the action. Hall managed to roll back in the ring with the United States Title in his hands. Just as he was about to hit Flair the referee caught it and blasted Hall about it. He took the title out of Hall’s hands and went to go return it to the timekeeper. Flair had his back turned to Nash which allowed him to deck Flair in the back of the head with the Television title. Flair fell over but Hall caught him. Hall kicked him in the stomach and prepped him for the Outsider’s Edge. Nash jumped off the apron and stood and watched what transpired. Hall had trouble lifting Flair up due to the bad knee but managed to secure him for the Outsider’s Edge. The crowd was rabidly booing Hall when he slammed Flair down. Hall went for the cover……..1………….2………………………..

Schiavone:”No….Ric Flair….didn’t kick out. Scott Hall has just won….the WCW United States Title.”

Heenan:”This is bad Schiavone….this is really, really bad.”

Hall was celebrating with Nash as they both raised their titles. Hall turned over Flair so that his back was exposed while Nash exited the ring. Nash looked under the ring apron and pulled out a can of spray paint. Nash shook it up while Hall held down Flair. Nash was about to spray paint Flair’s back when the crowd roared as Chris Benoit and Arn Anderson came out. They were in the ring with Hall and Nash and stared down. Both teams were on opposite side of the ring as they stared each other down when….

The lights all went out and a huge explosion was heard throughout the arena. Visually there was an explosion above the ring as there was a giant circle which ignited at the sound of the explosion. On the screen only one word was on the screen. TOMORROW! Another explosion was heard an inside the giant circle of fire, a smaller circle ignited and on the screen, the following words were added: He appears. In an instant, the image disappeared off the screen and the fire ceased. The lights remained off and when they came on, the camera shifted to the announcers.

Schiavone:”Well…as if we don’t have enough reason to tune in tomorrow to Nitro, now we get to see who “he” is, and if he’s for WCW or the n.W.o.”

Heenan:”I’m still reeling over what we saw. The n.W.o. has two of the most coveted prizes in the wrestling industry. But now we have the Giant taking on Hogan….I have no idea how this’ll turn out.”

Schiavone:”Well…let’s show you how this all turned out.”

9:32pm

Flair came to the back and I checked to see how he was doing. His heartrate was still rather high but still within the normal limits. I checked on his back but I couldn’t feel anything. I asked Ric how his back was and he said it was OK. Still, I wanted him to get it checked out. Ric refused saying he’s more cautious about his back than anyone. He was joined by Benoit and Anderson and the three of them walked off together. Hall and Nash came down with their respective titles. They looked at me and kept off walking. Bischoff approached me…

Bischoff:”Just so you know, tomorrow morning. I want to meet you at the arena at 7am to discuss this bullshit.”

”I get it…”

Bischoff walked to the back and Sophie came over to me again.

Sophie:”Things are lookin’ great!”

”Yeah….”

Sophie:”Aww…what’s wrong?”

”…Find me after the show…we’ll talk about it then. I need a drink but….just find me after the show…”

The camera shifted back to Schiavone.

Schiavone:”Well folks…this is what we’ve been waiting for. The Giant defends the WCW World Heavyweight Title against Hollywood Hogan.”

Heenan:”This is it Schiavone, the hope of WCW lies on that big man’s shoulders.”

Schiavone:”What about Comissioner Bischoff?”

Heenan:”Well he’s the special referee. Hogan attacked him so you can bet he’s gonna be swingin’ in favour of The Giant. They may have two of our titles, but there is no way they should get the biggest one in the business.”

Schiavone:”Well here comes the man! The biggest man in wrestling, the son of Andre….The Giant!!”

Heenan:”And look who’s with him, Comissioner Bischoff!”

The Giant vs. Hollywood Hogan

9:36pm

The Giant stepped over the top rope and held the WCW World Heavyweight Title high above his head. He screamed as he lifted the title high above his head. Suddenly, the lights went out and over the sound system, clips of news casters played. There were too many of them to discern what exactly they were talking about but there must have been dozens chatting on at the same time. Men, women, of different ages, accents, and even languages are chattering as the fans had no idea what to even make of it. Gradually, the voices started to taper off. It was now a bit easier to discern what some were saying. In rapid succession these quotes were heard. The cameras began to flicker through the darkness as they played.

Newscaster A:”What’s clear is…”

Newscaster B:”What’s obvious is that…”

Newscaster C:”Well I think we can all see that…”

A noise started to slowly get louder and louder as these newscasters were saying these type of lines until:

All Newscasters:”Hollywood…is here to stay…”

The n.W.o. theme music played as the crowd booed when Hogan came out. The video was in its usual black and white flicker as Hogan came out in his feather boa and his black and white lightning pants. Hogan was walking to the ring while dancing to Hendrix. When he finally entered the ring the video shifted to normal and the announcers could be heard once again. Hogan took off his black and white feather boas as Bischoff held up the World title to the entire crowd to let it know that this match was for the World Heavyweight Title. The bell rang three times and the match was on. The crowd began to chant “Hogan sucks.” The Giant stood there smirking while Hogan was trying to cover up the anger that was building up in his face. He glared at the audience before making the “Fuck you” gesture with both of his arms. The crowd booed and The Giant took that moment to attack the distracted Hogan. Unfortunately The Giant was quite a lumbering fellow and Hogan heard him plodding over to him. Hogan backed off and dropped to his knees to beg with The Giant. Hogan pleaded with The Giant not to hurt him. The Giant backed off and allowed Hogan to rise. The crowd was booing this as they wanted to see Hogan get slaughtered. Hogan rose to his feet and extended his hand for a handshake. The Giant stared at Hogan’s hand and swatted it away. The Giant tried to grab Hogan but Hogan side stepped The Giant and kicked him on his knees.

Schiavone:”Hogan now, trying to knot up The Giant’s legs.”

Heenan:”Well that’s just smart Schiavone, take down the proverbial Giant, and you win the match.”

Hogan kept peppering The Giant’s legs with kicks. The Giant backed off a bit and Hogan tried to keep on the offensive. But Bischoff got in Hogan’s face about letting The Giant recouperate. The crowd cheered when Bischoff stood face-to-face with Hogan. Hogan complied and let The Giant recouperate. Hogan tried to engage in a collar-and-elbow lock up with The Giant but The Giant threw Hogan down on the ring. The Giant roared and beated his chest; the crowd responded by cheering. Hogan stood up but cowered away as The Giant approached him. The Giant pushed Hogan into the corner and slapped him over the chest. Hogan collapsed to the canvas and immediately rolled out of the ring. Bischoff began to count in a rapid manner. Nothing too excessive but faster than usual. Hogan was pacing around the outside of the ring trying to think of an appropriate strategy against this beast. Hogan rolled back in the ring and quickly got to his feet before The Giant could step on him. Hogan paced around the entire ring and was leading the Giant all around the ring.

Schiavone:”Hogan is trying to tire out The Giant right now.”

Heenan:”Thanks Schiavone, I didn’t notice that. I, The Brain, did not notice that but thank you so much for informing me.”

The Giant tried to swipe at Hogan but Hogan, as ironic as it seems, managed to be faster than The Giant. This cat-and-mouse game continued on for about a minute with Hogan taking a quick shot at The Giant’s legs whenever he could. The Giant seemed to be tired as Hogan took advantage. Hogan came in and hit the Giant with three right hands to the face. Hogan then bounced off of the ropes and tried to hit a clothesline to the Giant but it only sent him reeling. Hogan tried again for another clothesline but it again, only sent him reeling. Hogan went for a third time and it looked like The Giant was about to fall as he was leaning backwards with his arms shaking violently. Hogan didn’t want to waste anytime so he did a chopblock on The Giant’s knee and The Giant fell to the mat with a crash. Hogan rose to his feet and tried to pin The Giant…..1…………….

The Giant kicked out after a simple one count. Bischoff was a bit slow in his count so it could have been a regular two count. Hogan rose to his feet and dropped an elbow on The Giant. The crowd started to chant “Hogan Sucks” again. This stopped Hogan in his tracks as he didn’t know how to answer to it. He stared at the crowd and goaded them to keep chanting that. He did his old school Hogan pose which got the crowd riled up even more. Hogan stomped The Giant two times before walking up to The Giant’s face. Hogan put one foot on The Giant’s face and stepped on it before stepping down on the other side. Hogan then looked at the crowd and flexed his muscles. The Giant was slowly getting to his feet when Hogan ran and kicked The Giant in his ribs. The Giant fell right back to the mat again. Hogan then turned his attention to The Giant’s legs. Hogan furiously stomped on The Giant’s knees to ensure that he would have a tough time trying to stand. The crowd was now as vocal as ever in their chant of “Hogan Sucks.” Bishoff pushed aside Hogan and warned him not to stomp on the Giant’s knees. The chant shifted into a giant ovation for Bischoff as Hogan was arguing with Bischoff. The camera cut to a shot of The Giant’s face as he was struggling to get on his feet again. He was on his knees when Hogan pushed Bischoff and dropped and elbow on The Giant’s head causing him to fall to the mat again. The Giant was tired, beat up and his knees were probably shot to hell. Hogan managed to shift the tide of the match and not even Bischoff could really help him at this point.

Hogan started to stomp on The Giant’s head before dropping an elbow on the back of The Giant’s head. Hogan rolled the Giant over and propped himself on top of the Giant. He had a closed fist and began to punch The Giant right in the face. Bischoff dived at Hogan to stop him as the crowd once again cheered for Bischoff’s intervention. Hogan got to his feet as Bischoff was warning him about the closed fist. Hogan licked his lips and tried to control his anger at Bischoff and walked right by him. The Giant was trying sit up when Hogan applied a sleeperhold to the Giant. Hogan had it on tightly while Bischoff checked to make sure it wasn’t a choke. Hogan was screaming at Bischoff to raise The Giant’s hand while Bischoff didn’t know what to do. He very slowly raised The Giant’s hand…………and it fell. Bischoff slowly raised The Giant’s hand again…..and it fell. Bischoff was hesitant in raising The Giant’s hand again for the third time. Hogan was screaming at him to do it while the crowd was roaring for The Giant to wake up. Bischoff looked conflicted….but tightened his lips and closed his eyes as he raised The Giant’s hand for a final time.

Schiavone:”The hand is still up! The Giant’s awake!”

Heenan:”Hogan, you’ve done the one thing you’re not supposed to do, waken the sleeping giant!”

The Giant’s hand was shaking as were his legs. The crowd was getting even louder as The Giant was screaming. A look of joy came across Bischoff’s face while a look of fear came across Hogan’s face. The Giant was starting to rise to his feet and Hogan couldn’t keep him down. The crowd was roaring and was as loud as I’ve ever heard them. The Giant was on his feet and Hogan was still applying the sleeper hold. The Giant grabbed Hogan and bent over which sent Hogan down on the mat. The Giant now stepped on Hogan’s face for a very brief period before picking him up. The Giant slapped Hogan’s chest and put his hands on Hogan’s midsection and neck. The Giant then lifted up Hogan with his arms fully extended over his head. He walked around the ring pumping his arms up and down and finally slammed him down on the mat. Hogan clutched his chest as The Giant rolled Hogan over and put his foot on Hogan’s chest. Bischoff went for a very quick count……..1……2……….

Hogan just managed to kick out. The Giant picked up Hogan and flung him across the ring. Hogan rolled outside to try and gather himself again. Bischoff began a fast count to try and get Hogan back in the ring. Hogan got back in the ring at the count of 8. The Giant approached Hogan but Hogan side stepped The Giant. Hogan attempted another chop block on the Giant but that only brought the Giant down to his knees. Hogan faced The Giant and began to hammer The Giant’s face with forearms and elbows. Hogan then ran back and delivered a clothesline to send The Giant back down to the canvas. Hogan then began to take off his weightlifting belt as the crowd was booing Hogan. Bischoff stepped in and took the belt off of Hogan himself. He took it in his hands and threw it away. Because of its nature, it ended up in the corner of the ring. Bischoff scolded Hogan and Hogan was yelling back while The Giant was trying to get to his feet again. Hogan and Bischoff were nose to nose yelling at each other pointing fingers at each other when The Giant was back on his hands and knees. Hogan dropped a leg drop across the back of The Giant’s head. The Giant collapsed on the ring as Hogan rolled him over for a pin. Bischoff reluctantly walked over for the count……he slowly counted……….1…………………2……………………

Once again The Giant kicked out and Hogan was frustrated. He immediately got in Bischoff’s face holding up three fingers. Bischoff countered by holding up two fingers. Hogan was screaming at Bishoff and Bischoff was doing the same. They were nose to nose screaming at each other when Bischoff picked up the belt that he had thrown across the ring. He had it in his hand and looked like he was about to hit Hogan. The crowd was roaring with approval when suddenly Bischoff went to The Giant and began to whip him with the belt. He whipped The Giant over and over and over as Hogan was smiling. Hogan then flipped over The Giant before getting up. Hogan ran to the ropes and dropped the Atomic Legdrop across The Giant’s neck. Hogan went for a cover and Bischoff did a quick three count. Bischoff forced the timekeeper to ring the bell as he went to hand Hogan the title.

Scott Hall and Kevin Nash came out to celebrate as all 4 men hugged in the ring. The entire WCW roster came out shortly afterwards but they didn’t approach the ring. Instead they flooded the entire entrance ramp to watch the n.W.o. win the most coveted prize in wrestling. They all had a somber look on their face and I could just picture myself standing at the front of that line. As far as we’re concerned, WCW and myself would be up against Bischoff and the n.W.o. Bischoff took the microphone as garbage was flying in the ring.

Bischoff:”We told you all that at Road Wild, there’d be another member of the n.W.o. And while we didn’t get that fossil Flair! They have me, Commissioner Bischoff!”

Hogan held up the WCW World Heavyweight Title, Nash held up the WCW Television Title and Hall held up the WCW United States title, and a few seconds later, they simultaneously threw it down on the ring and spat on the titles while Bischoff was laughing maniacally.

Schiavone:”This is disgusting….absolutely disgusting. Folks, thank you for joining us tonight at Road Wild. I apologize for what just happened, but…tune in tomorrow on TNT for Monday Night Nitro. For The Brain, I’m Tony Schiavone…..try to have a good night folks.”

10:00pm

I took off my headsets as the crowd behind me cheered another successful pay-per-view. Sophie walked up to me and put her hand on my shoulder.

Sophie:”Wanna go?”

I very quietly said to her…”Yeah….”

With that, the pay-per-view ended and myself and Sophie exited through the backdoor to talk. I really needed to talk and I was feeling so beat up inside. I needed a drink and just….I don’t know what I needed but I was glad Sophie was with me….

WCW didn't quite hit a homerun with Road Wild

By Wade Keller.

I know what many of you who saw the PPV last night are thinking, "Wade, I thought it was pretty good!" Well, yeah it was good. But it wasn't anything stellar. I agree there should be emphasis put on the war between WCW and the n.W.o., but that shouldn't come at the expense of the WCW titles. It's almost as if they realized halfway through the show that there was little, if any, emphasis on the titles and tried to overcompensate with it. There is no reason why the titles should be thrown on the ground and spat upon. Maybe I'm just a bit of a traditionalist.

The wrestling itself was top notch at first but it slowly started to get downhill. I guess that's how WCW is: Put the best wrestlers in the undercard and the best talkers in the main event. The main event would have been unbearable had the crowd not been so hot. It's just weird and sometimes I wonder if there's two different bookers in WCW as it just looks different.

The Eddie Guerrero-Stephen Regal match was a fantastic mish-mash of styles. I loved how Regal's technical style clashed with Guerrero's high flying style. These two had to step it up from their previous encounters and boy howdy did they ever. They turned up the speed in their match and everything seemed to click. The fans were a bit quiet at first but towards the end were totally into a match. This is how a match should be; building towards a climax. Kudos to both men for putting on a fantastic match which started the PPV on the right foot. ****

The Mysterio-Malenko bout tried to capture what just happened with a high flyer taking on a technical wizard. Unfortunately it just sort of fizzled out. Don't get me wrong it was still a fun match to watch, but it in no way compares to what I saw in the first match. There were a few botched spots such as Malenko not being able to fully take a head scissors or a hurricanrana. But that didn't take away from me enjoying what as otherwise, a solid matchup. ***

Harlem Heat taking on the Steiner Brother's is the way that tag team wrestling should be done. The match was well done with both teams playing to their strengths (brawling) while hiding their weaknesses. The crowd was really into the match and that only aids in my enjoyment of the match. A hot crowd can really accentuate a match. I was really enjoying this matchup a lot when I got to the ending. I didn't like seeing the Steiner's having to use the WCW Tag Titles to win. It's such a heelish thing to do and to see a face do it made me feel awkward. Granted they didn't use it to beat Harlem Heat, but the fact that they did it at all looked odd. However, the match was solid and I have to give them my kudos as well. ****

Lex Luger against Kevin Nash. Wow....what can I say about these two except that I was not disappointed. That was one fantastic match and the crowd was as hot as ever. I never thought I'd see psychology in a Lex Luger or Kevin Nash match let alone in a match with both of them. This match perfectly set the tone for what the WCW-n.W.o. feud should be. WCW should be enraged and downright pissed off and Luger definately showed that. There was a lot of smart wrestling in that Luger went after Nash's leg while Nash went after Luger's shoulder (to prevent the torture rack). And I'll admit, when he got Nash in the torture rack I did cheer. I wasn't a fan of the ending as I knew Hall would get involved although at least it wasn't just in a blatant way. The way he did it was in a sneaky fashion which shows how swarmy the n.W.o. could be. ****

The angle with Flair being in the n.W.o. was well done. I thought it was a bit shaky on the last Nitro when they said Flair would be wrestling his last match. It could be argued that WCW pulled a bait-and-switch angle on us, but the fact is, they had been building to Flair joining the n.W.o. and that should have been their primary focus. They tied both storylines in together and honestly, can anyone really complain with more Ric Flair? Plus, Flair was perfect in his delivery of his lines. I have to give him credit.

Flair vs. Hall however was another story. I'm not entirely sure what happened here as the match was slow, even for Scott Hall. Both men seemed to just go through the motions in this match and it seems as if they didn't know what they were building to. I still enjoyed the match but it didn't seem to live up to snuff, especially when the previous match was Luger vs. Nash. Also, how weird is it that Luger got a bigger face pop than Flair? The ending was once again predictable in that I knew Nash would show up, but the way it was done again showed that the n.W.o. are swarmy and makes fans want to see WCW prevail. I should caution however, that by constantly doing this, it makes WCW look horrendously damaged. ***

So we finally get to see this debuting superstar we've heard so much about. I honestly cannot wait, I have a few ideas as to who they could be so scroll down to see who they could be in my thoughts.

The Giant-Hogan match should be classified as an angle rather than a match. There was very little wrestling between the two men and as I stated above, if it weren't for the immensely hot crowd, I would have puked at the sight of this match. What was up with the squash of The Giant? Did he piss in Bischoff's Corn Flakes? The entire story revolved around Hogan and Bischoff and you know what that means, there'd be a swerve. With that said, the drama between those two men was excellently drawn out throughout the match and when I saw Bischoff whip The Giant I was a bit shocked. I only wish that the focus of the wrestling match was between...you know....the two wrestlers. ***1/4

***RANDOM NEWS AND NOTES***

My sources tell me that Lex Luger stiffed Nash during their match last night. Word has it that Luger had enough of Nash's games and decided to just stiff Nash in the ring. Nash stiffed back and this led to.....a good match. However, when both men saw each other backstage, they had to be pulled apart. One wrestler described it as "absolute insanity." More on this as it develops.

My sources also tell me that the proposed match for Ric Flair and Scott Hall was never supposed to happen. I was told that Flair was actually supposed to join the n.W.o. and lie down for Hall and subsequently disappear. Obviously, it looks like Flair will still be around and this explains why their match seemed to be of poorer quality.

Related to this, I was told that Bischoff was livid at the fact that Hall and Flair were actually wrestling. As such, the main event had to be cut short which could explain for the lack of wrestling here. It makes me wonder however, that if the head booker of WCW was surprised at this creative change, who made the change then? More on this as it develops.

I'm being told that Ric Flair's back is in stable condition but doctors are telling him to take it easy on his back. Whether or not he'll listen to them is another story.

Harlem Heat were apparantly livid after their match. They hinted at quitting and possibly joining the WWF. One wrestler said this to me: "Harlem Heat were pissed off."

My sources tell me that there is some concern for Eddie's wellbeing. From what I was told, he was so excited that some wrestlers used the word "manic" to describe his demeanor after his match whereas just a week ago, some say he was downright sad or depressed. There is some concern about his condition. We'll have more as it develops.

Talks with ECW have once again resumed. From what I'm told, the resistance of working together comes from ECW's end. As to whether or not money talks, we'll have to see.

The recent buzz around The Torch's office is who the new debuting superstar is. Let's not forget that WCW has a crop of superstars waiting to debut. They recently signed Christian Cage and the Power Plant is filled with wrestlers bursting with talent. Wrestlers range from Chavo Guerrero Jr. (Eddie's nephew), Chris Kanyon, Chris Jericho, an ex-football player named Goldberg, Juventud Guerrera, Prince Iaukea just to name a few. There is also the possibility of a major defection from the WWF. I have heard about that rumour as well. I suppose we'll find out tomorrow on Nitro.

Finally, that mysterious doctor was seen talking with Bischoff shortly after the Flair-Hall match started. Could it be that he was merely trying to calm Bischoff down? Or is there more to this story?

Good stuff GF, I like the way you played off the positive side of bad wrestlers to get good matches out of them. The Flair thing was good, and the opening Regal/Guerrero was great.

This is a frickin' excellent diary. Great in every way. I'm just disappointed I couldn't do predictions because I just started reading this yesterday. Bravo.

Monday, August 19, 1996. Miami, Florida

My alarm was blaring at 7:00am. Bischoff made it quite clear that I was supposed to be outside the Miami Arena at 7:30. I looked around the Sheraton Inn that I was staying at. This was a rather nice suite when the telephone began to ring.

"Hello?"

Hotel Attendant:"On the line is a woman who just identified herself as her wife. Would you like to take the call?"

Oh dammit, not now.

"Fine, yeah...put her through."

CLICK

Bridget:"What the hell do you think you're doing!?"

"What...?"

Bridget:"I have a friend in Miami, and she told Jane, who told Jenna, who told Amy, who told Caroline, who told Morico my hairdresser who told Sara who told me that you and that hussie Sophie went out for drinks!"

"Yeah, listen...hun, maybe if you had not played telephone you'd realize that yes I did go out for drinks with her after the show, but there were many other people who joined us. Eric, Terry, Kevin, Scott, Ric and Arn all joined us. It's custom after a big pay-per-view."

Thank God she didn't know about the political structure of WCW otherwise that'd be an interesting night.

Bridget:"Oh...."

"Yeah, listen I'd love to stay and chat but Eric wants to meet me at 7:30 so I gotta get ready. I'll talk to you when I get back k? Promise."

Bridget:"OK....love you."

"Yeah...love you too."

I felt awful that I had lied to my wife as it was just Sophie and myself but nothing happened. Sure I drived her to Miami from Orlando but she's in a different room. I jumped in the shower to go and get ready.

By the time I came out the time was already 7:17am. I would be late but whatever, I didn't really care that much as Eric was usually late anyways. I stepped outside my room and locked the door. I walked next door to Sophie's room and knocked on it. Within seconds she walked out looking stunning. As to how someone can look stunning at 7:17am after we got in at 3:30am, I'll never know.

She smiled at me as she locked her hotel room door. There was complete silence as we descended to the lobby in the elevator. We were walking out when the hotel lobbyist wanted to know if we would be checking out.

"No, we'll be back."

**********************************************

We arrived at the Miami arena at 7:36. Bischoff was already standing around and waiting outside the arena while the WCW trucks were just pulling in. I parked my car and immediatly he stormed right up to my car.

Bischoff:"She stays in the car. This is between you and me."

I exited the vehicle and nodded my head to Sophie to assure her that it'd be OK. As I walked towards Bischoff's car I could tell he was pissed. Once again, he was dressed up as a biker with his leather jacket and pants. Which was strange because he was left with a Dodge Stratus as his car. I guess he didn't drive to Orlando on Sunday.

"What do you want Eric?"

Bischoff:"Don't try and play tough with me. What the hell happened last night? Hogan had to call the entire match by himself so that we fit in the 3 hours."

"Oh so that's why it seemed like it was such a huge squash for him."

Bischoff:"Yeah, and since we promised someone was defecting last night, I had to do it."

"I have a hard time believing that Eric. I have a feeling you were going to join them anyways."

Bischoff:"Oh so now you can read people's minds huh? Tell me then Mr. Doctor....where do you see yourself now?"

"Mr...Doctor? Uh...."

Bischoff:"Don't be a smartass. Where you are right now is in the unemployment line. You're fired, effective immediatly."

"First of all Eric, I'm outside the Miami Arena. Secondly, you can't fire me as I made sure the contract was airtight. Demote me, fine. But you can't fire me. Thirdly Eric, if you demote me, you ruin our verbal agreement. Sophie was a witness that I would be booking WCW until Fall Brawl then you'll see if the ratings increase. The fact is, you're paranoid of Keller. He's almost on to us right now and should you demote me to a point where I don't have to be at Nitro, he's going to notice a change in the booking for the WCW stars and he's going to put 2 and 2 together."

Bischoff:"I'm willing to take that risk."

"Are you? If need be Eric, I'll go to Turner himself and see what he says."

Bischoff:"Fine....do it. Tomorrow morning we'll set up a meeting. We'll see what he thinks."

"Fine then....is there anything else?"

Bischoff:"Why, you wanna go back to banging Sophie. Take it from me, she's not that good."

"OK, Eric you know I'm married and....what?"

Eric was grinning like an idiot now. "Oh yeah, so am I. I still fucked her right and proper. Surprised?"

"...I don't really care Eric. Is there anything else?"

Bischoff:"I heard rumours that Flair knows everything about us. Is this true?"

"Yeah, that's why he did what he did. He was pissed off at you Eric for attempting to can him for someone who's just as old and not even as talented."

Bischoff:"Hey, the fact is, Hogan was key for the success of the WWF. Ric was the number 1 guy of WCW and he got us nowhere. Now we're on top."

"He's still valuable and you know it Eric."

Bischoff:"Not to me. But hey, he's your guy now, at least until Turner says you get demoted. And like I said, when it comes to matters of WCW facing the n.W.o., my way goes. So no matter what you have planned, I will always be ahead of you and will always trump you."

"I didn't see that last night Eric. What I saw was a WCW guy pull one out from underneath you."

Bischoff:"He still lost. That was my booking, and he still lost."

"Listen...Eric. I think we need to take a break right now, we're obviously at each others throats right now. Let's wait till tomorrow morning and just see if Turner, myself and you can work something out. Remember when we first started? It was great, now, because of our own personal feud, we might just ruin WCW. Neither of us wants that, especially Ted. So let's just calm down, book what we have booked for Nitro and just wait till tomorrow morning OK?"

Bischoff:"Yeah about the booking you have for tonight."

"What about it?"

Eric tightened his lips and looked away for a second at the traffic passing by on the street by the arena.

"Well?"

Bischoff:"I have nothing booked on my end."

"What?"

Bischoff:"Listen, I have to deal with everything, I can't do it all."

"This is all the more reason why we should try and work out some sort of compromise."

Bischoff:"I'll see if I can come up with something, but I don't know if I can. These Miami officials are being a bitch."

"Why?"

Bischoff:"They have no staff for tonight."

"You're kidding me right?"

Bischoff:"No, I mean they'll work. But just...they want more money then we agreed upon. So I gotta deal with that."

"So, one minute you're at my throat and threatening to fire me and now you want my help?"

Bischoff:"Like I said, I'm still pissed off at you for changing Road Wild, but I got so much other shit to deal with right now that we agreed to deal with it tomorrow. You wanna book it, fine. You don't? I'll think of something."

"Fine...I'll do it. Not for you, but for the boys so you don't have another problem."

We both walked back to our rental cars. I guess my time in psychiatry payed off. Man I love being able to play around with people's emotions. It's all about being calm and courteous.

I got back in the car as Sophie looked at me.

Sophie:"Everthin' OK?"

"Yeah....we got work to do and we gotta do it now."

I drove off to the nearest Denny's so we could get some breakfast and re-book all of Nitro. Guess my wife will have to wait.
