Depp Starts Ozzy Biopic Talks

23 June 2004 (WENN)

Latest: Oscar nominee Johnny Depp has begun negotiations over starring as rocker Ozzy Osbourne in a forthcoming biopic. The Pirates Of The Caribbean: Curse Of The Black Pearl hunk is the former Black Sabbath singer and wife Sharon's first choice to take on the coveted role. And the couple - who star in reality TV hit The Osbournes with children Kelly and Jack - are keen to get Depp to sign on for the role, but admit he is still not definitely committed to the project. Ozzy says, "We're talking to Johnny but it's not 100 per cent yet."

I'd pay to see that.

And I'm very aware that's its pretty old news, but I'd still like to see it happen

I'm already imagining Depp's bang-on impression of Ozzy.

Hopefully he doesn't stay in the Ozzy character after the flick is finished.

Will Smith still kind of talks like Ali to this day...its weird. I saw him on Leno, or Lettermen, or Kimmel...or possibly all three....and he still had a touch of Ali in his speech.

Oh well, I can see Depp portaying Ozzy extremely well, because he always does an awesome job of portraying his given character.
