The Tekken Thread

I was just wondering if anyone on EWB is a fan of the Tekken series? I'm a major fan and have been since the original game, I pretty much know the continuation storyline of the games inside out and can explain pretty much anything which can be explained of the series as far as questions have so far been asked.

I look forward to Tekken 5, the game looks so much more fluid and the movements are a lot speedier which will hopefully lead to superior fights, especially when I kick ass using Hwoarang and/or Jin.

Also, does anybody know any decent Fanfics or Mangas for the game that aren't bloody porn?

I really enjoyed Tekken 2. Tekken Tag was fun, but I just loved the first two Tekkens the most.

I kick the most ass with Lei Wulong and Law. :thumbsup:

I love Tekken as well. The 3rd game was my first, and I loved it. 1st and 2nd were great as well. So easy to pick up and enjoy. The 4th was a bit of a debacle, but the 5th one looks to be setting it back on track. I have an edition of Edge that talks about it actually, and it reveals something VERY interesting...

Actually he might not be, me and Benji have specualted on this, you never see him die. And no-one knows who is controlling the Mishima Corporation for this tournament.

Tekken 4 rawked, the addition of Steve Fox was very welcome for me, except that damn Bruce Lee remake kicked my ass everytime. I hate him with the stupid moustache.

The one piece of info I want is who is actually running Mishima Corp.? Because Kazuya isn't, Heihachi is dead and Jin wouldn't touch it.

I personally believe Heihachi SOMEHOW survived and is still running the company because otherwise, who is the final boss...? But we'll see.

Well, Jack-5 apparently was the one who blew him up, so it could either lead to the introduction of a new character who'll take over, or the possibility of someone else in the Tekken universe taking over. It seems to me that the possibility of Jack-5 being sent on the behalf of someone (in my mind, I'm thinking maybe Jun Kayaza for some ODD reason) is a strong one.

The Jack-5 series was sent by a government agency (most probably the Russians as they have been trying to eliminate Heihachi since day one). It has to be someone in the Tekken-verse, but I doubt it's Jun... she's all but dead as Jin saw Ogre take her away. The inclusion of Asuka Kazama is surely a huge one when she and Jin meet it should be quite... interesting to say the least.

EDIT: That's LEE, YI, Lei is the Hong Kong Detective, and Lee is adopted not bastarded.

Asuka wouldn't carry the gene, she was Jun's daughter, not Kazuya's, they are half-brother and sister to my knowledge, although her father is not revealed, then again neither is her mother if I'm honest, she will be related to Jin somehow though assuming her last name obviously.

Um BSIG, wasn't Jun killed by Ogre (Oh that was a sad day, she was one of my favourite characters on the original 2, with that headlocky flip thing).

Aside from plotline developments, the control system is apparently going to be easier and more simple as well. And three new characters. Feng Wei (who is described as an Asian Paul), Asuka obviously, and Raven, who looks a bit like Wesley Snipes

- I assume Asuka will have Jun's moveset with additions obviously as she uses the same Martial-Art

- Feng Wei looks like a fucking hoss of a fighter, but his storyline is a seriously sucky one (he's looking for a fecking book)

I'm still suspect about Heihachi... after all Kazuya was 'bought back from the dead' and all Heihachi needed to splice Ogre's gene and his was the devil gene from Kazuya and Jin.

Who's Asuka? I kinda lost the plot of it all half-way through Tekken 4.

Wasn't Lee (Violet) the final boss in Tekken 4 anyway? I doubt he'd come back again, but meh. I have a strange feeling that Heihachi is still alive, he's been one of the biggest main characters from the beginning, they wouldn't kill him off at the start of a game. It just seems to be a set-up for him to re-appear at the end or something. I hear what you're saying from Edge magazine, but I doubt thats how it'd go.
