Persona 5 Announced, Coming to PlayStation 3

It's finally happening.

Tonight's Persona event in Japan culminated with the announcement fans of the series have been waiting a very long time for: Persona 5 is real, it's coming exclusively to PlayStation 3, and it will be out in Japan by the end of 2014.

Persona 5 will (naturally) be the fifth game in the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series, which began way back in 1996 on the original PlayStation. The last game in the core franchise to be released was Persona 4, which came to the PlayStation 2 in 2008, and to the PS Vita in 2012 in the form of Persona 4 Golden.

Little else is known about the game right now -- including if and when it will come west -- but for now, you can go to Persona 5's official website.

There was always one game I wanted to happen above all others. This means that now there's a new one--Persona 6.

I started with 3, played through the game (fuck the final boss! Had to gain another 5-10 levels at the end) and loved it.

Then I played through 4, and loved that even more! Making Persona one of the best JRPG series (in my mind. Possibly usurping Final Fantasy)

So, if Persona 5 follows the trend, that means 5 will be the greatest game in the history of everything!
